Après 1770, les villes lorraines, confrontées à une croissance démographique importante, sont gênées, dans leur développement, par de graves difficultés d'approvisionnement en bois de feu. La multiplication des usines à feu et la diffusion du taillis-sous-futaie, provoquée par la généralisation des pratiques sylvicoles françaises, se conjuguent pour expliquer une rapide mais inégale détérioration de la situation. Cet essai de géographie historique a pour but de présenter une analyse critique des sources utilisées, d'apprécier l'étendue des pressions exercées sur la couverture forestière et d'esquisser un état des disparités paysagères, nées de la juxtaposition d'espaces dégradés ou sous-exploités.

À partir des récits de création qui mettent en jeu la figure de Prométhée au xixe siècle, cet essai se penche sur la féminisation du mythe de George Sand à Rachilde. Centrée sur le roman Méphis de Flora Tristan et sur Monsieur Vénus de Rachilde, l’enquête cible la manière dont les romancières ont mis en oeuvre l’imaginaire mythique qu’incarne le Prométhée moderne de Mary Shelley et les modes selon lesquels leurs textes représentent la création de l’humain et la différence des sexes. Voleuses de feu et démiurges modernes, les romancières pensent également la libération du personnage féminin et remettent en question une culture centrée sur la norme masculine. La réflexion porte sur le pouvoir féminin en se fondant sur la critique des institutions sociales qui s’exprime à travers la dynamique amoureuse mise en scène dans ces romans.

Le Nouveau romancier Michel Butor bouleverse la vision optimiste des quatre éléments de la nature élaborée, entre 1938 et 1961, par son ancien professeur de philosophie à la Sorbonne, Gaston Bachelard. Celui-ci considère l’air, l’eau, le feu et la terre comme détenteurs de qualités et de valeurs morales, à l’instar de la pureté, qui leur permet de contribuer à la transformation, tant matérielle que spirituelle, d’un monde impur en un univers immaculé. Cinq ans avant la parution du sixième et dernier essai théorique de Bachelard, Butor publie son Emploi du temps (1956), roman qui fait vaciller les principes de la vision idéalisée des éléments. Ayant reçu une formation philosophique, le romancier entreprend une polémique littéraire avec le concept de la pureté des éléments, si cher à Bachelard, et fonde l’univers romanesque de son ouvrage sur une antivaleur, l’impureté, jusqu’à ce que la saleté omniprésente devienne le cinquième élément, la quintessentia symbolique du monde.

O artigo avalia a censura promovida pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) contra os sites Crusoé e O Antagonista, acusados de publicar notícias falsas contra o presidente dessa corte. Pretende-se questionar se é possível qualificar como “notícia falsa” a divulgação de informação que consta em processos judiciais (como foi o caso), e se é legítimo que o próprio judiciário intervenha, removendo essas publicações. Este artigo procura avaliar o impacto desse caso de censura, considerando como o contraditório conceito das “fake news” pode ter sido usado politicamente para remover conteúdos incômodos aos ministros do STF. Para isso, serão analisados os argumentos adotados em caso judicial envolvendo a liberdade de expressão e a repercussão do caso pela própria imprensa, ponderando como essa proibição procura se distinguir – com eficácia problemática – da censura.Palavras-chave: Jornalismo. O sistema plantio direto (SPD) altera a taxa dos processos que ocorrem no solo, porém pouco se conhece sobre sua influência na mineralogia de solos tropicais e subtropicais. Este estudo teve por objetivo avaliar o efeito do SPD na mineralogia dos óxidos de Fe pedogênicos e sua relação com a matéria orgânica do solo (MOS). Amostras de solos foram coletadas em 14 profundidades da camada superficial (0 a 0,20 m) de dois Latossolos sob SPD e sistema de preparo convencional (SPC), em áreas experimentais de longa duração, no sul do Brasil (Santo Ângelo, RS) e na região do Cerrado (Dourados, MS). A identificação mineralógica foi realizada por difração de raios X (DRX), sendo determinados os teores de Fe extraídos por DCB (Fed) e por oxalato de amônio (Feo) e os teores de carbono orgânico total (COT). Nos dois solos predominaram os minerais caulinita e hematita, e o SPD não afetou os teores médios de Fed, Feo, COT e a razão Feo/Fed na camada de 0-0,20 m, em comparação ao solo em SPC. Entretanto, no Latossolo subtropical (LVdf-1), com boa distribuição de chuvas durante o ano e temperaturas mais amenas, houve aumento dos teores de COT e da fração humina na camada superficial do solo (0-0,03 m) sob SPD. Ademais, essas variáveis apresentaram relação positiva com os teores de Feo e razão Feo/Fed. Contrariamente, no Latossolo tropical (LVdf-2), com concentração das chuvas no verão (outubro a março), não houve efeito do SPD na distribuição do COT e das frações húmicas no solo. Neste solo, os teores de Feo e da razão Feo/Fed apresentaram relação positiva com a profundidade do solo e negativa com os teores de COT e da fração humina. Provavelmente esses resultados são conseqüência do reordenamento dos óxidos de Fe, possivelmente a partir da dissolução redutiva da hematita e da maghemita nas camadas mais superficiais e da neoformação de óxidos de Fe de baixa cristalinidade nas camadas mais profundas.

Kailashbashini Debi’s Janaika Grihabadhu’r Diary (The Diary of a Certain Housewife; written between 1847 and 1873, serialised almost a century later in the monthly Basumati in 1952) chronicles her travels along the waterways of eastern Bengal. Her travels are firmly centred around her husband’s work; in his absence, she is Robinson Crusoe, marooned in the hinterlands of Bengal with only her daughter.Bearing in mind the gendered limitations on travel in the nineteenth century for upper-caste Bengali women, this essay investigates Kailashbashini Debi’s narration of her travels and the utopic vision of the modern housewife that Kailashbashini constructs for herself. The essay looks into the audacious nature of Kailashbashini’s effort: to claim a space in public memory alongside her husband. In the process, the essay seeks to address the restructuring of domestic life made possible by the experience of travel, and explore the contours of women’s travel writing in nineteenth-century India

Анотація:

Based on international literature and data, this essay examines the conditions for improving competitiveness in Hungary in relation to intangible assets and capital investment. The link between productivity – as the basis for competitiveness – and intangible capital investment is also discussed. The essay argues that, although there is no consensus on the interpretation of the concepts examined and further analysis and modelling are needed, the relationships presented suggest that higher levels of intangible asset and capital investment would contribute to improving the productivity and competitiveness of the Hungarian economy. First, because this would improve the overall operational efficiency of tangible investments, and second, because it would support the transition to a knowledge economy, the key condition for boosting competitiveness.

This essay examines contemporary feminist dystopias to study the phenomenon of gender pandemics. Gender pandemic narrative allegorises possible aftermaths of patriarcavirus, unleashing many natural disasters that force global biopolitics to hinder gender equality. The main objective of this essay is to explain how gender pandemics are appropriated in patriarchal utopian discourses as a pretext to control female empowerment, diagnosing women as diseased organisms that risk the state’s well-being. Moreover, the novels explore the interdependence between biology and sociality, portraying the acute vulnerability of female bodies during and after the pandemic conflicts, inasmuch as patriarchal power arranges a hierarchical value system of living that reinforces gender discrimination. Particularly, the COVID-19 emergency is analysed as a gender pandemic: the exacerbated machismo and the growing distress in the female population prove that women are afflicted with a suffocating patriarcavirus, which has critically gagged them in the first year of the pandemic.

A pandemia de COVID suscitou diversas questões morais relacionadas, por exemplo, à vulnerabilidade de populações indígenas frente à nova doença, ou ao comportamento dos Estados mais ricos relativamente aos Estados mais pobres na distribuição de vacinas, ou relativamente à elaboração de protocolos para alocação de recursos escassos tomando-se como critério a idade dos pacientes. Consideradas isoladamente, essas questões dizem respeito a diferentes domínios de investigação da filosofia moral, a saber: o da justiça social, o da justiça internacional, e o da justiça intergeneracional. Até o momento, no âmbito da bioética e da filosofia moral, pouco esforço tem sido feito na tentativa de se mostrar que essas e diversas outras questões moralmente relevantes, discutidas durante a pandemia de COVID, deveriam ser examinadas como pertinentes a um campo distinto de investigação filosófica, ao qual me refiro neste artigo como ética pandêmica. Neste artigo, procuro estabelecer uma estrutura conceitual para a ética pandêmica tendo especialmente em vista a discussão recente sobre atribuições de responsabilidade no âmbito da ética climática.

In this essay, we explore how to obtain a more accurate picture not only of the growth situation as measured by traditional economic indicators, but also of the level of development, which also raises the possibility of becoming trapped. We distinguish between development and growth, pointing out that Hungary has good growth figures, but lags behind in terms of development indicators. This discrepancy requires further, more detailed analysis in order to define desirable targets for development indicators that are independent of growth indicators, and to avoid the development trap by achieving them. This is also justified because, in the longer term, the evolution of development indicators also affects the chances of sustainable growth and allows for more general, systemic qualitative progress. Based on the statistical data presented in relation to the issues raised, we conclude that it would be necessary to construct a mathematical model of growth and development to illustrate and econometrically analyse the dynamic relationship. But this is not undertaken in the context of this essay.

Este trabalho tem como objetivo realizar uma leitura do conto “El americano Feo II”, da escritora boliviana Erika Bruzonic, a partir de textos teóricos que propõem compreender a literatura contemporânea hispano-americana, dentro de sua diversidade, a partir de um olhar que abarca tanto a si como a relação com o ‘outro’, revendo o processo de colonização e seus resultados. A partir de uma invenção discursiva que separou o mundo em Primeiro Mundo e Terceiro Mundo, vários seres e epistemologias foram lançados às margens da interioridade ou na exterioridade dos saberes e sujeitos considerados de ‘valor’. O lado privilegiado do globo, ao afirmar uma condição de superioridade, cria vários tipos de colonialismos. No conto boliviano essa fronteira inventada é apresentada por meio de metáforas. Assim, por meio da leitura do texto por um viés descolonial buscaremos notar essas relações. Críticos como Walter Mignolo (2017), Juan Manuel Garcia Ramos (2013), Aníbal Quijano (1992), dentro outros, corroboram a nossa leitura.

The Our Vision section in the September 2021 issue of the Financial and Economic Review included an essay by Péter Gottfried, member of the Monetary Council of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (the Central Bank of Hungary, MNB), entitled ‘Thoughts on the dilemma of when to introduce the euro in Hungary’. This article is a response and supplement to that essay’s arguments and conclusions. In accordance with Article 140(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, the European Commission (EC) and the European Central Bank (ECB) shall report to the Council on fulfilling the conditions of introducing the euro, at least once every two years. However, Péter Gottfried’s essay is deliberately not about this; instead, it makes important points about when and under what conditions the obligations regarding euro introduction should be fulfilled if Hungary already meets the conditions. It is high time to consider this, in particular for two reasons: on the one hand, Croatia, which joined the EU later than Hungary, and possibly even Bulgaria, may join the euro area soon, reducing the number of countries staying outside to five. On the other hand, Sweden became an EU member nine years before Hungary: it has the same obligation to introduce the euro and fulfils practically all of the criteria for joining the currency club, but still does not plan to introduce the euro in the foreseeable future. The analysis is also timely because we now have a perspective of two decades, and it could and should be assessed to what extent the euro has met expectations, and how the exit of the United Kingdom, as the internal ‘opposition’ to deepening the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), is shaping the future of the EMU.

Abstract The purpose of the essay is to conduct an analysis of plantation tourism websites in the USA South, measuring the degree to which the history of slavery remains (in)visible or is explained within online promotional texts like websites, and to outline if today the digital space can become a space for inclusivity and equality. The essay will be divided in two parts: the analysis of a corpus of 10 major Historical Plantations websites in order to outline the principal verbal and visual strategies used to portray the history of slavery in the American South, and a comparison of 3 websites which offer translations in Italian and/or French in order to outline differences, adaptations, omissions, changes in the target texts. The methodology used will refer to CDA, Social Semiotics and Tourism Translation with the primary aim of outlining all the aspects of a website as a multimodal text. The essay will offer the results of both a quantitative and qualitative analysis trying to show how plantations as tourist attractions are represented through linguistic, cultural, and visual choices that represent the tourist experience in a highly codified way, and to demonstrate how this representation is adapted into different languages/cultural contexts, often reducing information and useful data to attract international tourists, and simplifying the message.

Laurence Ball argues that the Federal Reserve (the Fed) could—and should—have bailed out Lehman Brothers so that it did not have to declare bankruptcy. He presents compelling evidence that it could have. I argue that the view that the Fed should not bail out Lehman is reasonable under the circumstances the Fed was in at the time. The Lehman bankruptcy is a case study in bailouts and the attendant moral hazard problem that expectations of bailouts create. The lessons learned imply a clear case for appropriate regulatory intervention to solve the problems created when governments cannot commit themselves to not undertake bailouts. This essay seeks to answer one of the key paradoxes of the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) that has been unfolding since 2011: Despite the multitude of dedicated industrial policy strategies and policy interventions put in place since then, why have we not seen spectacular success? Using the US and EU industrial policy landscape, I argue that, although it will take time for the effects of Industry 4.0 to materialise, the strategy of “patience is a virtue” (respice finem) cannot be sustained indefinitely, i.e. until certain systematic industrial policy paradoxes are resolved, because only a systemic and primarily resilience-driven industrial policy can be expected to yield results.

Like many other regions in Europe, Catalonia has seen significant changes in the demographics of motherhood over recent decades, with decreasing fertility rates and an increase in the average age of women at the birth of the first child. Together with increased social awareness of gender and identity issues such as gestational loss or the sexual and reproductive rights of people with disabilities, this changing landscape seems to have had a noteworthy impact on contemporary Catalan theatre. Indeed, throughout the long 2010s, a significant number of female-authored plays focused on motherhood premiered in Catalan venues, and a significant portion of these addressed doubtful, fraught, and denied access to motherhood. This essay analyses four important works associated with this trend: Júlia & The Empty Lot (2018) and To Be a Mother (2021) by Clàudia Cedó, Conversations With My Uterus and Other Interlocutors (2018) by Núria Planes Llull, and Stigmas (2019) by Concha Milla. These plays respectively address the experience of perinatal loss, the desire of women with disabilities to become mothers, doubts concerning one’s maternal desire, and the consequences of infertility and assisted reproductive technology processes. The analysis is based on dramatic and video criticism, accompanied by a study of performance documentation and paratexts. This essay contends that the analysed plays shed light on the tension between hegemonic narratives around motherhood and the actual experiences of contemporary Catalan women in terms of access to motherhood, which can be fraught with social, political, or physiological obstacles, as well as denied to certain subjects who have historically been excluded from womanhood, such as women with disabilities. In so doing, the plays expand the available narratives for what we understand as motherhood while elaborating feminist responses to the lived experiences they bring to the stage.

In recent years, climate change and the pandemic have brought the issue of the link between inequality and economic growth to the fore. In my essay, I examine this relationship, focusing on whether inequality has a positive or negative effect on economic growth. I approach the issue through the lens of income inequality without seeking to explore all aspects of inequality. Starting from the relevant conceptual framework, I present the link between global inequality and long-term growth. Since inequalities affect both developed and developing countries, I compare them and show why the latter cannot repeat the economic progress achieved by earlier industrialisers. Finally, I conclude that the clear objective should be to reduce excessive inequalities.

The work was performed in Rozdilnyanske LLC of Rozdilnyansky district of Odessa region. For research, 5 groups of suckling ewes of the Gypsy breed were formed with 10 heads each, one of the groups was a control. Groups were formed by the method of analogue groups taking into account the breed, age in lambs, live weight, which was 50 kg. Chlorella microalgae suspension was fed to ewes in the first 20 days of lactation, in the amount of 3; 5; 7; 9 ml per 1 kg of live weight. Growth intensity, external parameters, and hematological and biochemical composition of blood were determined in newborn lambs at the age of 20 days according to generally accepted methods. It was found that feeding a suspension of chlorella microalgae to lactating ewes at the rate of 3, 5, 7, 9 ml per 1 kg of live weight increases milk productivity by 2.6-4.4 times and live weight of the offspring by 58.8-96.9%, compared to ewes that did not use chlorella microalgae suspension. With an increase in the amount of chlorella microalgae suspension in the diet of lactating ewes, the absolute increase in live weight of their offspring increases by 2.4-4.5 times. The average daily increase in live weight of lambs ranged from 199 g to 339.5 g

Admired throughout the world, Toni Morrison’s powerful voice resounds in special ways in Brazil, where she conducted part of her research for Beloved –a novel she considered an interrogation about the legacy of slavery in countries like Brazil and the USA. Initially labeled «politically correct» by Brazilian media, her works have finally achieved great visibility in the twenty-first century thanks to translations, a wide readership and increasing academic attention. In fact, Afro-Brazilian women writers, literary critics, historians, and cultural workers have reached unprecedented recognition in recent decades, along with a belated embrace of Morrison and other Black authors. This essay relies on Black feminist, diasporic and decolonial thinking to investigate how Morrison’s writing connects with the ongoing process of racial awareness and empowerment in Brazil, as well as with the writer Conceição Evaristo.

As estradas com revestimento primário são fundamentais no escoamento da produção rural e no acesso das comunidades rurais aos centros urbanos, possibilitando assim uma vida de melhor qualidade econômica e social para essa parcela da população. Um dos maiores problemas encontrados nesse tipo de estradas é o afundamento das trilhas de rodas, que são agravados pelo excesso de carga por eixo. No Brasil, trafegar com excesso de carga é uma prática frequente em virtude da inexistência de controle de peso na maioria das estradas do país. Sendo assim, este trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar o efeito do aumento da carga por eixo na tensão vertical no topo do subleito e na redução da vida útil através do fator de equivalência de cargas (FEC) em duas estradas vicinais localizadas em um assentamento no município de São Gabriel-RS. Essas avaliações foram realizadas através da análise das tensões verticais no topo do subleito e do FEC, com utilização de métodos matemáticos e do software SisPav, com a ferramenta AEMC. As análises foram realizadas para os carregamentos de 8,2 tf (padrão), 10 tf e 12 tf e concluiu-se que o aumento do carregamento no eixo gera acréscimo nas tensões verticais no topo do subleito e automaticamente ocasiona diminuição do número N e aumento do FEC, fazendo com que as projeções da vida útil das estradas estudadas tivessem uma redução de aproximadamente 60% para o carregamento de 10 tf e de 80% para o carregamento de 12 tf.

The measurement of the environmental impact of green bonds, its reliability and the publication of measurement results are crucial for the transparent functioning of the market and supporting investor decisions. However, this segment of the financial markets is still at an early stage of maturity, and the lack of adequate data and methodologies is a common problem that can only be solved by the development of single-market best practices and regulations. The essay reviews the trends, characteristics and current regulation of existing green bond impact reports and describes the challenges of evaluating impact reports, based on the literature and our own practical experience. In our view, the market has already moved past its “virtue-signalling PR” stage, but there is still a long way to go before impact data become as standardised as traditional financial data.

The following article describes the process of a documentary filmmaking programme at a secondary school in Chile, which encourages students to engage with a sense of place and intangible cultural heritage. Run by Gaticine – Centro de desarrollo social del cine (Centre for the Social Development of Cinema) in partnership with A Bao A Qu, a non-profit organization based in Barcelona, the programme assists students in discovering and analysing documentary films from different times and cultures over the course of a year, while performing practical filmmaking inside and outside the school. At the end, a short film project is developed that is premiered in a local cinema. This essay provides a brief overview of the principles and methodology of the Cinema en curs programme, before offering a socio-educational consideration of the school in which it was developed and, finally, an analysis of the project’s delivery.

This essay examines early 20th century travel texts written by two European women: the Catalan journalist Aurora Bertrana (1899-1974) who lived in French Polynesia from 1926 until 1929, and her contemporary, the Dutch journalist Mary Pos (1904-1987), who travelled to the Dutch East Indies in the fall of 1938 and returned early in 1939. Our research is double-focused: on the one hand it examines issues of empire, colonisation, and orientalism, and on the other hand it explores issues of modernity and feminism. The travel texts under study offer personal registrations of self-fashioning strategies that both authors employ, which significantly question gender expectations regarding women’s social and sexual practices, their professional, familial and marital roles, and their opportunities for education. Presenting them as emancipated modern women, however, the accounts are also embedded in an orientalist and colonial discourse and seem to impose their own views of modernity and feminism on other women–despite ardent appeals to intercultural understanding.

The essay discusses the socio-political challenges for the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its foreign trade in goods and services, including the Hungarian relation. The study uses descriptive tools and secondary data. Wedged in between Croatia and Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s economy is inextricably linked to the dramatic events of the past and the still unresolved social and political conflicts. Within Yugoslavia, Bosnia and Herzegovina was a member state with significant export potential, but the war and ethnicisation have devastated the economy. The state administration of the Dayton system is expensive, and the foundations for capital flows, privatisation and European convergence are developing slowly. Capital flows, the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) and international aid play an important role in balancing the foreign exchange balance. A significant item reducing the negative current account balance is the amount of remittances, which is six times higher than FDI. Remittances have become the largest source of external financing, increasing dependency and exacerbating the vulnerability of the economy.

Promoting the financing of the transition to a sustainable economy is one of today’s key issues. However, access to scarce resources is further complicated by a striking new phenomenon: both regulators and investors are becoming increasingly “choosy”, as they make their decisions on whom to give money to dependent on circumstances that go beyond green and scientific aspects. It is therefore no coincidence that an increasing number of investment funds are obtaining ESG1 ratings that formulate exclusion rules for sovereign bonds based on NGO indicators (e.g. civil liberties, level of corruption). If such criteria become an international standard, a sovereign that fails to meet them could be threatened with total exclusion from the green/ ESG market. The aim of this essay is to review the regulatory environment and the market situation through this lens. It is important to note, however, that both legislation and market preferences are in a quickly evolving, amorphous state, and thus continuous monitoring of the conditions is essential.

The role of central banks in shaping economic processes has been a key issue since their existence. This has typically always been related to the challenges faced by monetary policy decision makers at the time, and from the 2000s onwards even more so in the decade in question. In our essay, we focus primarily on the challenges facing Hungarian monetary policy, briefly outlining the developments in the past decades and elaborating on the challenges ahead. In the longer term, as a small, open economy, Hungary must respond to the prevailing and often interconnected international megatrends of the decade, assessing which of these developments represent challenges and which of these provide opportunities for the Magyar Nemzeti Bank to solve the challenges. In an era of geopolitical change, the green transition, demographic change, high debt levels and digitalisation, one thing is certain: central banks cannot lose sight of their primary objective of ensuring price stability.

INTRODUCTION AND AIMS Advocacy is an important and effective way to influence policy changes to improve outcomes. Best practice advocacy is when efforts are coordinated, multifaceted, structured, and collective. The ESSA Advocacy Network was piloted in 2021, to improve engagement with members, and strengthen ESSA advocacy efforts, whilst simultaneously building members capacity and confidence, to engage in activities for positive change. METHOD ESSA advocacy priorities are broad and diverse, aiming to enhance workforce opportunities to benefit all member groups. These areas include chronic conditions, mental health, rural and remote health, disability, aged care, physical activity, primary healthcare, public health, sport, and, workplace and personal injury. These priorities are affected by enablers including technology and innovation, data and evidence and funding mechanisms such as GST and fee schedules in compensable scheme. All advocacy efforts aim to reduce barriers, enhance enablers and increase access to the exercise and sports science workforce. The advocacy network self-identify interest in priorities and are engaged when opportunities arise to share knowledge, experience and their expertise to inform and shape advocacy. RESULTS In 2023, members were engaged in the development of over 300 submissions and letters. Advocacy efforts resulted in member engagement in meetings with Members of Parliament, Senators, Parliamentary advisors, and senior government officials plus representation on advisory groups for the development of clinical guidelines, strategic plans and resources for allied health. CONCLUSION As the advocacy network emerges from its infancy into the next stage of maturity as an integral part of advocacy for exercise physiology, exercise science, and sport science, a professional and streamlined approach is required. ESSA will grow the network in terms of members engaged and the output.

This essay draws attention to some of the important aspects of, and learnings from, Irving Fisher’s work. Fisher was the first economist to subject big volumes of data to analysis. He was one of the founders and first president of the Econometric Society. His name is associated with the quantity theory of money. He researched the purchasing power of money, index numbers, created the so-called Fisher index, wrote about the theory of interest rates, economic cycles, dwelled upon debt deflation and the theory of the Great Depression. He was one of the first advocates of abandoning the gold standard. He also drew attention to the psychological motives of the behaviours of economic actors, so the theories of Thalerian behavioural economics can regard him as their predecessor. His insight was used in managing the financial crisis of 2008. The steps towards reforming bank regulation can specifically be regarded as such measures, while Modern Monetary Theory stretched back as far as his thoughts on the regulation of the creation of money, i.e. the Chicago plan.

The following article was written in the style of my good friend the writer and cognitive scientist Doug Hofstadter. It was written not by a human being, but by my computer program "EWI" (an acronym for "Experiments in Writing Intelligence"). EWI was fed the texts of two of Hofstadter's books — namely, Gödel, Escher, Bach (winner of the Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction in 1980) and Metamagical Themas — and then, following its code, EWI carefully analyzed these two books for their uniquely Hofstadterian stylistic elements and features, after which it recombined these stylistic elements in new fashions. EWI thereby came up with some 25 new and highly diverse "Hofstadter articles", one of which is given below, and at the very end the article is followed by a brief commentary about EWI and its output, by Hofstadter himself.

Diversas referências que envolvem os temas do germanismo e da aristocracia encontram em Nietzsche e em Brandes um campo bastante fértil. Ambos os autores, comprometidos com a discussão voltada à crítica da cultura ocidental, têm o intuito de fomentar a elevação da cultura, o que alavanca o tema da aristocracia. A dinâmica das forças, que caracteriza o pensamento nietzschiano, manifesta, na aristocracia, a vontade de superação de um povo dotado de espírito. Na recepção que Brandes faz deste tema da aristocracia de Nietzsche, este adquire rasgos de um radicalismo. Por essa razão, o intuito, nesta investigação é o de, num primeiro momento, examinar em que medida a aristocracia, elevada a radicalidade, implica numa leitura que envolva, para além da dinâmica de autossuperação, a de um germanismo, radicado na exaltação da raça. Num segundo momento, o intuito é o de avaliar em que medida as implicações da recepção de Brandes do radicalismo aristocrático, traduzido em moldes de germanismo, enfatizaram a leitura que os nazistas realizaram do pensamento nietzschiano.

During COVID-19, the Fed applied several policies to boost the economy, including tax cuts and lower interest rates. In March of 2022, the Fed began raising the interest rates as a response to the inflationary economy, which put a full stop to the COVID-19 period economically. The series of monetary policies used by the Fed have captured widespread attention since it influences different markets and sectors. This essay examines the effects of monetary policies used by the Fed on different markets by looking at the data published by the Fed and the banks, and also include evaluation made by experts in news and essays. This paper can conclude that expansionary monetary policies to some extent, are considered helpful for lowering the inflation rate, however, they will cause some destruction to the housing market, banks, investors, and the whole global economy, the author can see this through criticism and data from the housing market, the bankruptcy of some banks and different industries. This essay includes both the positive and negative effects of a few common monetary policies and makes an overall suggestion.

Este texto tem como objetivo analisar de que maneira essas questões aparecem em quatro materiais jornalísticos publicados no Correio Braziliense, na Jovem Pan, nos portais de notícias UOL e IG e confrontá-los com com texto de ampla circulação nas mídias sociais, atribuído erroneamente ao filósofo e educador Mario Sérgio Cortella. Consideramos o contexto de desinformação e de proliferação de fake news em detrimento da formulação e discussão de políticas públicas efetivas para redução dos impactos da doença na saúde e na vida dos cidadãos. Para realizar a análise, foi utilizado o método da análise de conteúdo, conforme bases preconizadas por Bardin (2011), com inferências advindas da reflexão teórica sobre saúde e comunicação (GAVILANES, 2009; TABAKMAN, 2013; ARAÚJO, 2014; entre outros). Conclui-se que os equívocos acerca da saúde como objeto da política não se restringem apenas ao texto amador, mas também àqueles produzidos pelo jornalismo profissional aqui analisado.

Анотація:

O presente estudo teve como proposta o aprofundamento em relação ao tumor cardíaco Fibroelastoma Papilar (FEP). O manuscrito objetivou um levantamento bibliográfico a respeito do FEP, além de realizar uma breve revisão literária sobre essa alteração patológica e apresentar um caso clinico representativo a respeito do tema. Inicialmente, o levantamento bibliográfico foi realizado na base de dados ISI Web of Knowledge/Web of ScienceTM sobre essa cardiopatia e seu diagnóstico, em seguida um estudo literário a respeito do tema a partir dos artigos foi apresentado e, por fim, um caso clínico de um FEP foi relatado. Dessa maneira, 214 publicações foram identificadas, onde parte delas concluíram que o FEP é uma neoplasia tumoral cardíaca que pode ser encontrada em qualquer parte do coração, sendo mais comumente localizado no endocárdio valvar e a válvula aórtica. Além da excisão cirúrgica ser o tratamento de escolha mais predominante. E conforme proposto, relatou-se um caso de uma paciente de 56 anos que apresentou o tumor na válvula aórtica e que realizou a ressecção cirúrgica, apresentando a cura. A partir dos dados apresentados, um diagnóstico precoce juntamente a um tratamento eficaz melhora o prognóstico de um paciente que apresentar essa neoplasia.
