Повний текст джерелаThis research focuses on the virtual environments for training in biomedical diagnostic devices. The simulation of the real situation only is not enough, we needs to incorporate a pedagogical scenario to build the learning. The scenario applies to all learners, so it is important to integrate individualization. For this we propose to couple the virtual environment with an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS). Our study begins with an identification of existing systems that seem best suited, on which to base our proposal: the ITS Pegase, the pedagogical scenario model Poseidon and the meta-model Mascaret. This also allows us to identify the limits of Pegase : the lack of connection with the pedagogical scenario, the lack of modularity and lack of individualization. Our proposal, called Chrysaor, aims to provide the most complete ITS. Thus we propose that a pedagogical scenario is an explicit knowledge and therefore exploitable by an STI. The concepts proposed in our model also allow the instructor to easily modify the behavior, roles and assignments (human or autonomous agent): our system becomes modular. Then we illustrate the use of Chrysaor in an application of virtual reality training in a biomedical device used in hemostasis in hospital. We lead two experiments in order to compare the two types of training (traditional and virtual) to verify the quality of learning achieved by a virtual reality training, and to ensure that this knowledge are transferable in a real environment

Повний текст джерелаFor years, research literature has underlined that, notwithstanding the cognitive deficits related to advancing age, individuals may continue to benefit from their prior experiences in the optimization of their behavior, aided by the maintenance of a certain level of cognitive plasticity (i.e., concept of enrichment effects). The present research aims to understand the extent of seniors’ behavioral plasticity and establish how exergames may assist them in countering the deleterious effects of normal cognitive aging. This research consists of two studies which aim to identify the potential for cognitive and motor acquisitions via the use of virtual training devices. The first study highlights that a three month exergame training program improved both executive functions and the speed of processing in sedentary seniors. These results suggest that such cognitive improvements may be explained by (1) physical solicitation resulting in improved cardiorespiratory endurance, and (2) by the game-related cognitive stimulation (due to the variety of tasks and interactions) further transferring to neuropsychological tests. The second study is designed to identify the occurrence of a virtual-real transfer through context similarity between our two experimental tasks, both based on a golf-putting task. Compared performances between the two age groups, having trained in one of two learning conditions (real versus virtual) underlined that young adults were able to reinvest the acquired skills from the virtual to the real context, in contrast to older adults. Even though the latter acquired actual motor skills in virtual context, they failed to optimally re-engage prior acquisitions. This doctoral research attests that exergames, through both physical and cognitive stimulation, may be an effective means to counter the deleterious effects related to advancing age

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis presents a review of the current state of learning applications for higher aural education and potential optimization strategies. An analysis of how these applications are used is conducted from the point of view of students, teachers, and developers. The goal is to identify ways to optimize the development and use of these applications in educational programs. In particular, we study the interaction between aural education, learning technology, music cognition, and learning theories. The research aims to bridge the gap between the educational requirements of aural training and technological advancements by conducting a multi-perspective analysis. The historical evolution of aural skills education was studied, starting from tracing its roots in "solfège", passing by its connection to music notation and theory, and finishing with its current specialized form in France. Learning theories related to auditory skills development, music cognition, and e-learning were also reviewed. After a deep review of the literature in the field, we define possible guidelines for designing aural learning applications for aural education. In addition, the thesis proposes sample exercises that utilize these guidelines for supporting learning. We conducted an experimental approach to evaluate our ideas as a novel alternative to traditional teaching methods, providing new perspectives on how technology can improve the aural learning process. However, several factors must be considered to achieve such optimization: include learning theories based on neuroscience, consider the specific requirements of teachers and students, and implement a pedagogical approach that reflects the complexity of auditory processing. Finally, we want to emphasize that instructors, students, developers, and institutions must engage in robust dialogue to create a more inclusive educational environment using digital applications

Повний текст джерелаThis institutional research was conducted with one main purpose : identify the building mecanisrns of a new situation of communication within virtual environment like persistent worlds (Second Lire) in an e-leaming situated context. The study explores the concepts of communicational artifact as symbolic place of representations and construction of a new reality. We favour a pragmatic point of view of the communication by using the four mediations approach and the study of the fonciional interactivies regarding human-human communication and social interactions in our context. Our hypothesis concern firstly the perception oi'a kind of materialization of the situation of communication, and secondly the possible social role of the projections of the users : the avatars. The methodology consists of a communicational analysis of analogic signals like gestuelle and proxemic practices in those spatials environments populated by avatars caracterized by users. Our findings : The caracterization of the avatar plays a part in the social rites and the group identity construction. The possibility for the users to choose differents points of views (centered or off-centered) of the avatar allows them to be spectators-actors of the situation of communication. The result of the study indicated that ;The constant alternation of points of views generates in the mean time liberties and inconveniences for the users which modify the distanciation of the subject v\jth his object, and as an episteniologic consequence, lead to a kind of circularity in this process
