Повний текст джерелаThe use of electronic payment systems has developed considerably over the past two decades in almost every country. That trend has encouraged various actors to offer electronic payment systems (e-PS)-oriented new uses, such as online-payment or micro-payment. However, the new e-PS is slow to to take hold. Among the factors that explain the difficulties of those new e-PS, the problem of assimilation of such technologies by consumers is seen as central. The models explaining technology assimilation, traditionally used in IS have been developed in an organizational context and can only bring partial answers to practicioners. Indeed, those models fail to capture the specificities of e-PS. In particular, those models ignore the influence of network effects on technology assimilation. The objectives of the this thesis is to propose and validate a model for better understanding of the assimilation of e-PS. This research, based upon a preliminary analysis of theorethical literature and a quantitative approach using structural equation models (227 carriers of a solution of micro-payment), proposes to explain the failure or success of an e-PS, giving special importance to the concept of network effects (referent / global), social norm and risks in the specific markets that are two-sided markets. This research hepls to clarify the offer of e-PS, proposing a typology that focuses on the prescriber rather than on the end user

Повний текст джерелаTo meet demands for the development of new products in the fields of power electronic convertors for electric cars, solar panels, wind turbines, and new LED-based lightening technologies or RF components, research has focused on direct wide bandgap materials, including Gallium Nitride (GaN). GaN has attracted significant interest due to its exceptional properties for next-generation power electronic devices. With a high saturation velocity and a high operating voltage, GaN-based devices can operate at high frequency and with excellent efficiency, making GaN a material of choice in power applications. However, the development of III-N materials is still immature, especially in terms of quality control of the various interfaces within the devices. The presence of high density of interfaces states can be the cause of device malfunctions. Therefore, understanding and controlling the surface of GaN is a challenge for possible future industrial integration. Today, there is no suitable and effective standard surface preparation of GaN. In order to investigate this problem, this PhD project was carried out in a collaboration between CEA-LETI (Grenoble), LTM (Grenoble) and CP2M laboratories (Catalysis, Polymerisation, Process and Materials, Lyon). The main objectives of this project are, first, to understand the surface chemistry following various surface preparations, and second, to set up the configuration of surface bonds. Therefore, this PhD project focused on the preparation and characterisation of the extreme surface of GaN after various chemical and physical treatments

Повний текст джерелаDue to the increase in climate change awareness and development of renewable energy sources, there is an increasing demand for more reliable and efficient power electronics at the point generation, transmision and consumption. Power electronic devices based on wide bandgap semiconductor materials (SiC, GaN and Diamond) will result in substantial improvements in the performance of power electronics systems compared to silicon based devices. They will offer higher blocking voltages, improved efficiency and reliability, as well as reduced thermal requirements.Diamond, though mostly known for its gem value has electrical and thermal properties that are highly beneficial for power electronics. Various device types and device architecture such as diodes, MESFETs and MOSFETS have been made using semiconducting diamond with promising electrical characteristics that could see it incorporated into systems. A pseudo vertical diamond MOSFET device offers possible high current density as well low resistance and high breakdown values needed in high voltage power systems. The aim of this work is to fabricate the first pseudovertical diamond power MOSFET with breakdown values of up to 6.5 kV (20 mOhm.cm-2, 200°C. This work focuses on mastering the series of process involved in the device realization from substrate characterization through epilayer growth to the device microfabrication and the characterization. In this thesis, the detailed steps involved in realizing the pseudovertical power MOSFET has be presented and three critical challenges in the device realization namely substrate related issues, defect propagation through stacked epilayers and the gate oxide reliabiliy has been addressed. The choice of quality substrates free of polishing defects and with low dislocation densities is needed for quality epilayer growth. Different substrates has been procured and characterized. The best substrate type for quality epilayer growth determined after characterization by x-ray topography, cathodoluminescence and electrical measurements have been proposed. Defects propagation was observed in the four stacked epilayer growth needed for the pseudovertical MOSFET transistor. The occurence of defects seems to arise from different impurity concentrations and doping type leading to lattice mismatch and strain in the layers. X-ray topography and rocking curve imaging has been employed to study the grown layers. A method for improved stacked layer growth has also been proposed. The reliability of the gate stack is usually a concern for MOS based devices. The shift in the threshold voltage during operation is a consequence of oxide and interface charges in the device. A p-type MOSCAP device was used to study this phenomenon experimentally. The influence of high temperature post oxidation annealing was found to be beneficial for stable gate oxide parameters. The shift in the flatband voltage has also been monitored through bias stress measurements. The maximum effective charge 9.8E-11 cm-2 as a result of flatband shift was obtained. This value is the same order of magnitude as those observed in state of the art and commercially available SiC devices. All the steps necessary for the transistor fabrication has been developped independently , and technology has been validated by the fabrication and electrical characterization of MESFET and Schottky diodes

Повний текст джерелаOne of the challenges of our time is related to the production and management of electrical energy. In this context, the improvement of power semiconductor devices is one of the keys to meet this challenge. Most of current power devices are made of silicon. However, the demands of power electronics applications in terms of voltage withstand, power density, temperature and switching frequency are becoming higher. The intrinsic physical properties of wide-bandgap semiconductors (SiC, GaN, Diamond) make it possible to consider the design and fabrication of power devices that are much more efficient than all-silicon structures. In this context, our work focuses on the development and optimization of technological steps enabling the realization of diamond MOS power devices. They were carried out as part of the ANR project MOVeToDIAM, coordinated by LAAS-CNRS, in the continuity of the work on diamond made in the laboratory since 2005. Diamond is therefore a wide bandgap semiconductor (Eg = 5.5 eV) particularly suitable for high power and high temperature applications. It has high carrier mobilities (2200cm2/Vs for electrons and 2050cm2/Vs for holes), allowing the passage of high current densities, a high breaking field (Ec ~ 10 MV/cm) and a strong thermal conductivity (lambda ~ 20 W.cm-1.K-1) facilitating heat dissipation. However, despite these promising properties, many technological locks are still to be lifted in order to lead to the fabrication of power devices on diamond. We have therefore studied and optimized several critical technological steps to overcome the problems caused by the small sample size (2x2mm2 to 3x3mm2). The photolithography steps were developed and optimized for two types of resin (positive AZ4999 and negative NLOF 203) using a Spray-Coater and a direct laser writing machine, thus greatly improving the minimal resolution, up to 1 µm, of the patterns defined on the samples. In order to characterize ohmic contacts, we have developed two test structures: the Transmission Line Method (TLM) and the Circular TLM (Circular Transmission Line Method). If the realization of ohmic contacts on P-type diamond is mastered, the specific contact resistance must be further improved to limit its impact on the electrical performance of the devices. In addition, according to the literature, no ohmic contact has been made on N-type diamond, because of the difficulty of achieving high levels of doping, which remains a major obstacle to the development of the diamond industry. The fabrication of ohmic contacts on P-type and N-type diamond has been optimized on different samples.[...]

Silicon carbide (SiC) is a wide band gap semiconductor. Its physical properties are greater than those of the silicon for power applications. However, the SiC power devices fabrication technology is not yet mature. This thesis treats the optimization of the technological steps for SiC power devices fabrication. And the work is especially focused on dry etching and ohmic contact to p-type SiC. The improvements were implemented in several SiC diodes fabrication process and some components with a breakdown voltage in the range 1. 2 – 6 kV were obtained

Повний текст джерелаThis dissertation aims to assess the impact of Twentieh Century offensive revolutions in military affairs (RMA) on the distribution of military power in the international system. To do so, it combines elements from the realist paradigm of international relations and from clausewitzian strategic theory. In an anarchical international system, a state possessing an offensive RMA should be able to shape its security environment by changing the status quo and to impose its will on adversaries through the use of force. The impact of offensive innovations on states’ military power is assessed by looking at two variables: the ability of the innovator to maintain a military advantage over its adversaries, and its ability to impose its will by inflicting decisive defeats. Combining realism and clausewitzian theory leads us to reaffirm that an anarchical international system is intrinsically interactive and competitive. While an offensive RMA can offer a tremendous military advantage to its possessor, states facing it can see it as both a threat and an opportunity. Its disclosure and employment should trigger internal balancing policies, which would in turn cause a spread of military capabilities and decrease the RMA’s overall effectiveness. This dissertation also rejects the idea of a direct causal link between offensive RMAs and victory. Above all, an innovator’s ability to obtain decisive victory lies with political and strategic factors such as war aims and the superiority of defense over offense. Three case studies have been conducted to test the resulting hypotheses: the First World War combined-arms revolution, the blitzkrieg revolution, and the information technology revolution that occurred during the last two decades

Повний текст джерелаThe objective of this research is to study the effects of firms’ technological innovation capabilities (TICs), as an expression of their technological innovation strategy, on their product innovation and global performance. In doing so, we draw on innovation management literature and an exploratory study in China’s telecom-equipment sector to justify the influence that the firm’s technological activity has on their firm performance. In addition, we use concepts derived from literature on technological innovation to identify different capabilities that firms may develop to manage their innovation process, i. E. , those related to investment, production and linkage. These are the basis of our hypothesis in which TICs identified are related to firms’ product innovation and global performance. Empirical work is carried out on a sample of 215 technology-based firms in the electronic information industry in China. We used the method of structural equation modeling for testing the hypotheses and research model validation. Our findings show that TICs have a positive impact on product innovation and the product innovation exerts also a positive influence on firm performance. However, TICs don’t exert any influence direct on firm performance

Повний текст джерелаThis work is devoted to the study of path creation phenomenon. It takes place in an epistemological framework which stipulates that reality should be apprehended in a processual and a relational mode. In this context, we defend the thesis that path creation is a process where entrepreneurs or established firm aiming at creating new paths, frame controlled resources in a way that it allows them to create legitimacy around the socio-technological design they are sponsoring. This process occurs when a window of opportunity is set during the phase when a generic technology is adjusting to a production technology. The inference of this conceptualization is abductive in a sense that it is built over an exploratory case study on the creation of new techniques to fight against sand encroachment in the south-east of Morocco, and honed by confronting it to a second case study on the creation of a new technological path in e-grocery industry in France by an entrant company, Natoora, whereas the player of mass distribution struggle to find a path

Повний текст джерелаThe distribution of physical products has nowadays to face the raise of numerical networks. The document distribution is even more affected, as the product itself becomes digital. The risk that physical documents disappear has to be seriously considered, not only as a risk for document distributors, but also because physical documents - and particularly press documents - have an important role for cognition, for memory and for society. This research, ordered by a press distributor, tries to progress on designing document mediation apparatus that take advantages of the digital technologies and try in the same time to make profit of physical document properties. In this goal, it associates theoretical consideration with practical experimentations. Especially, the experimentations concern the design of an interactive terminal helping customers locating and get-ting information on documents in the physical press store and its application on Internet. Methodological aspects are also considered, in particular, the way to lead such innovation. Moreover, a theoretical model, giving a representation from the different mediations that occurred in the document distribution in the digital age, is proposed

Повний текст джерелаMany companies have added e-commerce sites to their store network, thereby creating a multichannel distribution system. This research analyses factors that trigger staff commitment to this new system by considering both adoption of (commitment to) the multichannel customer concept and importance given to the implementation of multichannel marketing actions. Based upon a review of broader management literature, ambiental and strategic orientation factors (i.e. store market orientation perceived by its personnel) as well as management mechanisms are identified as potential determinants of staff commitment to multichannel. This work revealed the existence of internal coopetition (competition and cooperation among channels) and the need to adapt the concept of market orientation to the multichannel context. The notion of coopetitive market orientation which includes customer orientation, competitor orientation and internal coopetition is introduced. Several hypothesis and a final model are then developed and empirically tested on the case of a specialized distribution channel. Results reveal that organisational mechanisms (centralisation and wage system), as well as self competition factors (market intersection and competition between channels for internal resources) influence staff commitment to multichannel. A store's coopetitive market orientation as perceived by its personnel influences the latter's commitment. The influence of several variables is mediated by this kind of strategic orientation. The discussion of the results leads to a typology (cluster analysis). Academic and managerial implications are developed and several research directions are suggested

Повний текст джерелаWhy some innovations succeed and others fail?In the marketing literature, it is widely accepted that the adoption of a new product can be influenced by the phenomenon of social contagion, that is, the phenomenon of imitation of the behavior of other members of the social system. Marketing research was therefore interested to empirically study the impact of social contagion on the adoption of innovations. However, the success of an innovation is not only appreciated by its adoption but also its continued use. Thus, our study looks not only at the first purchase but also the continuity of use of technological innovation. Indeed, consumer behavior analysis in the long run will ensure their satisfaction and sustainability of companies. In order to do so, we had conducted a quantitative study. For this purpose, a research questionnaire was developed and administered to a sample of 593 individuals. The results of analysis with simultaneous equations show the role of opinion leadership and the perceived characteristics of innovation in the behavior of adoption and continuity of use. Our research contributes to the development of knowledge in the field of adoption and diffusion of innovation and leads to a number of managerial recommendations

The practices of change are led by collectives of grass-roots actors, university researchers, whereas in these large university institutions, change is traditionally led by strategic actors. A comparative international study conducted in French and Brazilian universities shows that practices of change, even if they are inferred by an international context, involve the structuring of the collective of grass-roots actors in an artefact-organization finalized around the new project. The actors thus engage in a strategy of communication, first to experiment change through an artefact-type of communication, the though an institutionalizing process. Повний текст джерелаThe study of the current social phenomena inevitably goes through the acknowledgement of the role of electronic technology in social practices as a whole. We speak, for example, about a cultural revolution to emphasize the impact of digital technology in everyday life, but which are the transformations that this technology brings to the sociality? The ways we live together are transformed by the use of the digital technology? These are the questions which we discuss in this work. In the study we present, these cultural transformations are interpreted from an intimate look to the digital experience. From our affiliation to the thoughts of Michel Maffesoli, we vindicate an aesthetic approach to sociological studies; first of all, because rational motives are far from showing the richness of the social link; and then, because Maffesoli ('the author' serías tú) has clearly showed its power of interpretation of daily life, the space and societal forms. Finally, because it is only in the sweetness of the image that is possible to comprehend contemporary sociality. To conclude, we present the societal trends which demonstrate what we call "the postmodern e-rationality" which is no other than the articulation of an electronic being together, attached to the postmodern values

Повний текст джерелаThis dissertation aims at elaborating elements for a theoretical analysis of an important new phenomenon : technological innovation as applied to money. Credit and finance (TIF). The analysis develops within the theoretical frameworks provided by the theories of innovation, money and credit, and industrial organization (as applied to banking structures and competition). Neither the theory of industrial innovation, nor the newer theories of financial innovation, enable us to understand the specificity of tif. Industrial organization theory, on the contrary, has produced analytical tools in accordance with which we define tif as an "innovation of orgazation" exhibiting important properties. TIF reduces money demand, and increases (potentially) money supply and money velocity. It changes the arguments of credit demand and supply functions, as well as the conditions of their equilibrium on the credit market. Using the concepts of the theory of contestable markets, we study the impact of tif on the efficiency of the monoproduct and multiproduct banking firm, as well as on banking competition

Повний текст джерелаThis research focuses on the exploration of the Algerian inventive environment based on the published information expressed through patents. They are a large source of free technical skills. They describe detail and reveal the technologies used and provide solutions to the raised issues. The access to technological information kind of patent had developed in the past few years thanks to the progressive development of information and communication technologies and electronic means of distribution and recovery data. Several empirical works considers patent data as an indicator of inventive and/or economic activity. However, in Algeria, patents are considered only as a protecting mean of inventions and not as a source of information that could produce new knowledge. The objective of this research is to know whether patent documents allow the retrieval and production of new knowledge in terms of information and strategic monitoring in the Algerian context. At the same time, we are also trying to estimate whether patent information in this country is relevant, strategic or inadequate. To this end, we evaluate Algeria’s innovative capacity through a set of representative indicators based on the information contained in patents filed on its territory. Since patent analysis is related to bibliometric, our methodological approach its registered within this field of research and is based on the one-dimensional and two-dimensional (relational) methods that relate to the analysis methodology of zipfian distributions. The obtained results show that innovation in this country is still in its embryonic stage. As it appears through patents, there are more indicators of weakness than indicators of strength. The evolution of deposits is irregular and the access to the information relating to them is very difficult. Priority patents (Algerian applicants) are not important. The study notes a form of strategic dependency on technologies held by foreign patents, mainly in the pharmaceutical and energy industries. Patent’s examination also indicates that the majority of Algerian inventors perform in foreign countries, which means that the country couldn’t unify the right conditions to the innovative practice

This introduction of a new technology is not a passive phenomenon. It goes with a deep change in the relationships between a technical device individuals, and uses. Our research done in a comprehensive and complex perspective, aims at revealing the contributing to the emergence of digital technology in the field of phtography. With this aims in view, we will in the first place study photography trough its history, from a utilitarian and aesthetic point of view, in order to grasp the relationships woven between the photographic machine, the photographers and the uses of their products. In the second place, a similar process will be practised about digital technology. These approaches to the two technologies will allow us, through the observation and analysis of numerous studies about traditional and digital phtography, to question between structuralism and phenomenology, the processes, identities and conceptual tools maintaining the symbolic worlds to those two technologies

Повний текст джерелаThe problem of the dissonance between technology and the degree of its use and appropriation is undoubtedly complex. In the Tunisian context, e-commerce is one of the emblems of this problem. The phenomenon is complex and cannot be reduced to simple causes or simple facts. We are looking in general at how the appropriation of technology is constructed at the individual, organizational and ecosystem levels in the case of electronic commerce. To study such a phenomenon linked to complex organizations which act in a complex way in a complex environment, we combine the complexity approach and the appropriation approach. These two theoretical approaches were mobilized with the principles of intelligibility to model in a systemic way the ecosystem of e-commerce and the process of action as well as the processes of formation of practices related to technological appropriation at the individual and organizational levels. In an epistemological posture based on the multi-paradigm, we advocate methodological principles related to the construction of knowledge. Our qualitative research follows an abductive approach and is based on the plurality of methods as strategies for accessing data (multiple case studies and phenomenology) considering the diversity of the units of analysis (consumers, enterprises, experts and administrative officers). In a preliminary phase of empirical exploration, we conducted 25 non-directive interviews with Tunisian Internet users and enterprises that have already adopted e-commerce. In a later phase, we conducted 51 semi-structured in-depth interviews, 33 questionnaires, 3 non-participating observations and 4 group interviews which they incorporate the association network technique. In this case, the e-commerce ecosystem is presented not simply as an elementary unit or a global unit grouping components and actors, but as a complex unit made up of various elements, having specific qualities and others emerging and comprising antagonistic forces as well as constraints that produce inhibitions. The idea of complex unit has helped us to conceive at the same time the whole ecosystem, its various components and the relationships between them. The order and the disorder of the ecosystem have been recognized in antagonistic, complementary and competing ways. Thus, we move from a partial explanation to a holistic explanation and then to a complex explanation. Our study suggests that there is an accumulation of multi-level problems that inhibit the formation of practices related to the appropriation of e-commerce in the Tunisian context. Order is incapable of gaining ground on disorder. There are no rich and proliferating interactions of which considerable transformations can change the entire ecosystem. Entropy and negentropy at the ecosystem level are found in obstruction by a blockage in feedback and reorganization. To reduce the dissonance observed between technology and the evolution of its use and appropriation practices, we propose a managerial model made up of seven actions likely to be performing in the case of e-commerce: Think Different, reformulate strategies, strengthen transformative capacity through power, develop the interactions, establish a system of ethics, reshape the system of meaning and reinforce trust in the social space

Повний текст джерелаThis research work explores innovative methods to fight fraudulent activity in electronic payment in the Tunisian banking sector, more specifically it aims to investigate the interrelation between the strategy of relationship marketing and the various involved parties: the individual, the bank and the merchant and their impact on the intention of employing electronic means of payment in Tunisian banks. The main objective of this work is to construct an integrative model, which illustrates the relationship between the customer's behavior and the factors, which lead to the adoption of electronic payment methods and fight against fraud. On the theoretical level, our research hopes to contribute to the improvement of the security foundations for the various stakeholders as well as the development of electronic payment methods. On the practical level, the aim of this study is twofold: (1) it contributes to the research on the innovations in the field of e-Payment (2) It values the link between the variables of the relational MKG, the adoption of innovative method and the fight against electronic fraudulent activities in the banking sector. Our adopted research strategy follows a quantitative approach based on the hypo-deductive reasoning method. The approach is carried out in three stages: an exploration stage, a confirmation stage and finally a complementary stage. Our analysis of the different stages demonstrates that commitment has a significant impact on the intention to employ the means of payment, as it has been already suggested by previous research studies. The research, however, suggests an integrative model which combines variables that have previously studied separately. Thus, the perception of the quality of electronic service (Netqual) and trust have a significant impact on the consumer's commitment to the use of electronic means online. Hence, a successful revamping of the strategy of relationship marketing should underscore the role of satisfaction, trust, and commitment as key variables in the quality of interactions

Повний текст джерелаIn order to increase the perceived value of their offerings, companies can implement product enhancement strategies, consisting in adding new attributes to existing products. However, a literature review and an exploratory qualitative survey highlight that these marketing strategies are not always effective to improve the attractiveness of a complex product. To clarify the consequences of these innovation policies on perceived value of a product, an experiment has been carried out in the car industry. According to the results, a new attribute can only generate an additional emotional value. In contrast to this value creation, it may cause, in some cases, a decrease of the social or economic product value. Some of these effects can be explained by the perceived price and the perceived functional advantage of the added attribute. However, the perceived learning costs of the new feature don’t seem to be able to act, on the whole, on the process of enhanced complex product valuation

Yet one of the most fundamental differences between print and online news is the multiplication of internet metrics : web journalists now receive a constant stream of quantitative information about the online popularity of their work. Does quantification always foster standardization? This dissertation argues instead that metrics take on radically different meanings when they travel between countries. Focusing on the case of online news, I compare the reception of web analytics in tv countries, the United States and France, which have different journalistic traditions and relations to market forces. Drawing on ethnographic analysis of a pair of news websites in the United States and France, as well as quantitative material, I find that web journalists in both countries are faced with conflicting definitions of journalistic value. Traditional "editorial" evaluation based on peer judgment is at odds with "click-based" evaluation, which focuses on the number of page views. In spite of these commonalities, American and French journalists manage the tension between qualitative and quantitative evaluations in different ways. At the U. S. Website, journalists distinguish sharply between editorial and click-based modes of evaluation. In contrast, LaPlace's journalists constantly switch back and forth between qualitative and quantitative criteria of value. These differences between the American and French news organizations can be analyzed as distinct "arrangements" between modes of evaluation. Such arrangements stem from the respective trajectories and structures of the American and French journalistic fields

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis examines the local French administration and its territorial de/reconstructions in relation to the digitalization process in a changing environment in which the efficiency of the public action is of main concern. Contrary to other studies, this research is based on a dynamic definition of the territory as a framework for collective action and on a broad concept oforganizational process which produces a weaving where lines of de/re/territorialisation get entangled. These lines are studied as a manner of being and acting and are thus involved in the process of structuring effective organizations. This process is observed from the perspective that the propensity to efficiency is found underlying or manifest in the form of digital media and its joint arrangement. The de/re/territorialisation mechanisms linked to digitalization were investigated during a three years fieldwork. If the coexistence of organizational coding and decoding are making the territory alive, actual and becoming at the same time, the tendency to higher code enhancing through digitalization challenges the capacity to renew the potential of efficiency
Dasgupta, Abhijeet. "High efficiency S-Band vector power modulator design using GaN technology." Thesis, Limoges, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018LIMO0021/document.
Повний текст джерелаThe evolution of telecommunications systems, linked to a constantly increasing demand in terms of data rate and volume, leads to the development of systems offering very wide bandwidths, modulations with very high spectral efficiencies, increased power and frequency flexibilities in transmitters. Moreover, the implementation of such systems must be done with a permanent concern for energy saving, hence the recurring goal of the RF power amplification which is to combine the best efficiency, linearity and bandwidth. Conventional architectures of RF emitter front-ends consist in a first step in performing the frequency modulation-conversion operation (IQ Modulator) and then in a second step the DC-RF energy conversion operation (Power Amplifier), these two steps being usually managed independently. The aim of this thesis is to propose an alternative approach that consists in combining these two operations in only one function: a high efficiency vector power modulator. The core of the proposed system is based on a two-stage GaN HEMT circuit to obtain a variable power gain operating at saturation. It is associated with a specific multi-level bias modulator also design using GaN technology. The fabricated device generates, at a frequency of 2.5 GHz, a 16QAM modulation (100Msymb/s) with 13W average power, 25W peak power, with an overall efficiency of 40% and 5% EVM

The first chapter describes the means of payment allowingthe transfer of electronic money (e-money), the determinants of their adoption and their usein the world. The following two chapters are articles that analyze the competition between fiat money and e-money from the Lagos-Wright model (2005). In the first article, unlike cash, the holding of e-money is guaranteed against the risk of loss or theft, and merchants must invest to receive e-money. Due to strategic complementarities between buyers andsellers, there is a multiplicity of equilibria where only one money, or both, circulate. We analyze welfare and quantify the model to explain the failure of e-money in Europe and its success in Asia and in the United States. In the second article, cash competes with mobilemoney (M-money). Agents can create partnerships and each transaction is settled with one means of payment only. Agents without a partner use cash, the others use M-money.Buyers with a partner always hold M-money, alone or in addition to cash, while buyers without a partner use either one, or the other, or both, or no money. However, M-money replaces cash only if the number of traditional sellers is very low and inflation not too high. So, partnership is a coordination mechanism that explains the success of mobile payment applications offered by brands to their loyal customers in the United States

They have been focused on III-N HEMT transistors and GaN cold cathodes. They have been realised within the III-V lab, which is a common entity between: Alcatel - Thales - CEA Leti. They have been financially supported by Thales Electron Devices company (TED) and the French National Research Agency ( ANR ). Regarding III-N HEMTs, our investigations have been focused on the development of device gate processing, which includes : the structuration of gate electrodes, the study of device passivation, and the realization of Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor High Mobility Electron Transistors ( MIS-HEMTs ). The “ Normally-off ” MOS-HEMT structures we have realized exhibit performances comparable to the state of the art, with a maximum drain current density between 270 and 400 mA / mm, a ION / IOFF ratio > 1.100, and a breakdown voltage > 200V. The threshold voltage values range between + 1,8 V and + 4V. We have also been able to demonstrate prototype GaN cold cathodes providing a maximum current density of 300 µA / cm2, emitted in vacuum for a bias voltage around 40 V

Повний текст джерелаSince it was officially founded in 1956 at 120 km north from Moscow, the city of Dubna's development is exceptionnal. During the Soviet era, this city was one of the major nuclear research centers of the socialist world. After the collapse of USSR, this former « showcase » of a disappeared system managed to survive as an exception by developping high-tech industries. In the 2000s, central power became interested by this small city, as it could be useful for its strategy of putting the country back as a « major world power ». Thus, Moscow funded many important projects in Dubna, especially for capitlizing « scientifical and intellectual potential » inherited from the Soviet era. Today, this town is so transformed by this massive funding policy that it has been called « Russian Silicon Valley » for a while. But Dubna is facing many problems, like corruption or a growing disapproval of political elites by the population. Thanks to the geopolitical approach, this work interrogates the processes that led to the creation of territory presented as exceptionnal, and how this representation of exception is used by several actors in rivalries of power at different geographical scales. In a wider perspective, the purpose of this work is to analyse production and exploitation of the official russian idea of « power » throught the case study of a city that was created to fulfill this aspiration

Повний текст джерелаAcquiring a new Information Technology System (IT) is no longer a strategic issue; rather, it’s the general attitude towards the IT System that determines the extent of efficiency and benefits an organization realizes by implementing it. The Assessment of the performance and impact of IT Systems on organizations, has become of great interest to the Business Administration Management sciences. Also, It is of a major concern for companies leaders (KALIKA 2000; M Tahir Jan, Johan W de Jager, Alileche Ameziane, Naheed Sultan 2019).The use of IT is gradually spreading throughout the entire value chain of the company. However, their level of acceptance varies from country to country and from sector to another. In addition, the optimal implementation of ITs faces multiple difficulties:- technical: in particular to meet interoperability needs and to ensure sufficient control by users;- economical: in terms of investment; - behavioural in terms of stakeholder resistance. Thus, accelerating the process of acceptance and improvement in its use, involves identifying the factors that predict this process. In Morocco, research work that addresses the issue of the process of user acceptance of ITs in the context of luxury hotels is lagging considerably. This postulate is gaining momentum as this is mainly a crucial economic activity for Morocco, namely tourism. The implementation of IT in luxury hotels is only an initial phase of their successful integration. At this stage, the acceptance phase is the most delicate because it reveals a gap between the expected utilization and the actual level of use of these technologies. Furthermore, it is important to reflect on the attributes that influence users in their decision to accept or reject an IT and the extent of their use. The reasons for resistance go beyond the rational decisions advocated in the economic approach (cost, effort...). They cover: the specificities of ITs, the organizational context, the cultural, psychological and ethical specificities of users, and social influence. The purpose of this work is to answer the following question: What are the personal characteristics, specificities of IT users, and internal environment influences inside Marrakech luxury hotels that predict the acceptance of an IT system? In light of the literature review conducted on IT acceptance theories, we designed and tested a conceptual model by conducting a qualitative study by interviewing ten luxury hotel managers, and a quantitative investigation of 235 IT users to examine the factors that directly influence an IT system acceptance. The results of our research revealed the significant influence of personal characteristics, subjective norms, perceived risk, and managerial support as antecedents of expected performance. We concluded that these variables predict IT acceptance through attitude, intention and reluctance to change

Повний текст джерелаIn this thesis, we aim to disentangle the cooperative but also competitive relationship between Google and news publishers, which is at the same time technical, economic, legal, social, political and certainly communicational. In order to do so, we trace the historical development of two singular universes, describing what publishers can do to overcome the search engine and optimize their ranking. We then analyse how Google can influence publishers’ conduct, by studying power relations, respective incentives, aims, and informational and socio-economic backgrounds. Finally, we report on actual practices of French traditional news publishers: what they communicate to Google, by which means and at what price, for which expected results, after which concessions, detours and controversies. Thus, we explain how search engine optimization is likely to affect the way content is valued, its production organisation, the website’s structure, journalists’ prac tice an editorial policy. We show a back and forth movement between performative utterances and performed circumstances, having an effect on and by texts, architexts and hypertexts. To sum up, this thesis is dedicated to understanding what happens to news and publishers once they strive for their information to be found by Google's users

Повний текст джерелаTo deal with the exponential increase of chronic diseases caused by health behavior (e.g., smoking, alcoholism, unhealthy eating, physical inactivity), non-pharmacological interventions (NPI) have become essential as a prevention tool and as a complement to treatments. Among these NPIs, behavioral intervention technologies (BIT) open up a promising field to a sustainable change in health behaviour (e.g., connected health devices, smartphone health apps, serious games). Beyond their ergonomics and their features, this thesis focuses on their evaluation in health, from their validation to their surveillance. The first study identifies the existing frameworks proposed around the world to evaluate these BITs and categorizes them, based on their underlying epistemological paradigm. The results show an exponential increase of these frameworks and a lack of consensus or convergence towards a common framework, as it had been the case for the drugs, by the end of the twentieth century. The second study is based on a systematic review used to identify 90 published interventional studies evaluating the benefits and the risks of digital solutions to fight against smoking. The results show that some BITs are effective against smoking but their effectiveness is based on a heterogeneous methodological corpus limiting the significance of the results produced. This heterogeneity is related to the inherent characteristics of the BITs (e.g., employed technologies and combination of technologies, multiplicity of the theories to change health behavior), to the chosen assessment methods (e.g., kind of control group, follow-up time) and to the chosen outcome measures (e.g., smoking reduction, smoking cessation). The discussion is focused on the current limitations to demonstrate the effectiveness and the risks of the BITs., due to parallel paradigmatic approaches, the biomedical paradigm, the engineering paradigm and the behavioral paradigm. The lack of consensus limits the comparability and the reproducibility of the results of the studies evaluating these BITs. Most of them are still gadgets, despite a promising potential, as predicted by the manufacturers. This thesis promotes the convergence to a consensual framework to determine the evidence-based benefits and risks of each BITs and introduces proposals to this effect
Signorello, Salvatore. "A multifold approach to address the security issues of stateful forwarding mechanisms in Information-Centric Networks." Thesis, Université de Lorraine, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018LORR0109/document.
Повний текст джерелаThis work illustrates how today's Internet dominant usage trends motivate research on more content-oriented future network architectures. Among the emerging future Internet proposals, the promising Information-Centric Networking (ICN) research paradigm is presented. ICN aims to redesign Internet's core protocols to promote a shift in focus from hosts to contents. Among the ICN architectures, the Named-Data Networking (NDN) envisions users' named content requests to be forwarded by their names in routers along the path from one consumer to 1-or-many sources. NDN's requests leave trails in traversed routers which are then followed backwards by the requested contents. The Pending Interest Table (PIT) is the NDN's data-plane component which temporarily records forwarded content requests in routers. On one hand, this work explains that the PIT stateful mechanism enables properties like requests aggregation, multicast responses delivery and native hop-by-hop control flow. On the other hand, this work illustrates how the PIT stateful forwarding behavior can be easily abused by malicious users to mount disruptive distributed denial of service attacks (DDoS), named Interest Flooding Attacks (IFAs). In IFAs, loosely coordinated botnets can flood the network with a large amount of hard to satisfy requests with the aim to overload both the network infrastructure and the content producers. This work proves that although countermeasures against IFAs have been proposed, a fair understanding of their real efficacy is missing since those have been tested under simplistic assumptions about the evaluation scenarios. Overall, the work presented in this manuscript shapes a better understanding of both the implications of IFAs and the possibilities of improving the state-of-the-art defense mechanisms against these attacks. The main contributions of this work revolves around a security analysis of the NDN's forwarding plane. In particular, this work defines a more robust attacker model for IFAs by identifying flaws in the state-of-the-art IFA countermeasures. This work introduces a new set of IFAs built upon the proposed attacker model. The novel IFAs are used to re-assess the most effective existing IFA countermeasures. Results of this evaluation disproves the universal efficacy of the state-of-the-art IFA defense mechanisms and so, call for different countermeasures to protect the NDN against this threat. To overcome the revealed issue, this work also defines proactive IFA countermeasures, which are novel defense mechanisms against IFAs inspired by the issues with the state-of-the-art ones. This work introduces Charon, a novel proactive IFA countermeasure, and tests it against the novel IFA attacks. This work shows Charon counteracts latest stealthy IFAs better than the state-of-the-art reactive countermeasures. Finally, this work illustrates the NDN.p4 design, that is, the first implementation of an ICN protocol written in the high-level language for packet processors P4. The NDN.p4 work is the first attempt in the related literature to leverage novel programmable-networks technologies to test and evaluate different NDN forwarding plane designs. This last contribution also classifies existing alternative forwarding mechanisms with respect to a set of PIT cardinal properties. The work outlines that it is worth to explore alternative forwarding mechanisms aiming to design an NDN forwarding plane less vulnerable to the IFA threat

Повний текст джерелаThis work offers a philosophical research about the transformations of literary reading under the digital environment. We question the issues of the new forms and techniques of textuality regarding subjectivity, such as it builds and interprets itself in light of reading. This research is based on two hypotheses. The first one, stated by Proust in “Le Temps Retrouvé”, is that “every reader, as he reads, is the very reader of himself”, equating reading to a privileged subjectivity matrix, a place where the self comes out and discerns itself. The second one was expressed by the neurologist Maryanne Wolf: “we are how we read”. Beside the story we are told, the empirical practices and techniques of the reading act also participate in our ontological constitution. Today, those empirical elements are disrupted by the digital that gives birth to new mediums, textual forms and reading spaces. Our work is at the encounter of a series of technological transformations and the hermeneutic metamorphoses they arouse. If the book has long been a mediation to read oneself and a model for understanding the world, then what becomes of our relationship to the others and to ourselves when the book gives way to novel objects? We approach digital literary reading as a prism through which questioning the becoming of contemporary subjectivity. This research invites us to meditate on the renewal of aesthetic imagination, social imagination and existential imagination aroused by the experience of the electronic text

Повний текст джерелаThe use of technology in public organizations in some African countries such as Gabon reflects a desire to improve quality of service for users and to make work processes more effective. Literature presents evidences that technological innovations in Western companies bring some advantages on both organizational and socio-professional levels, but also numerous negative impacts. The impact of technological change on occupational and organizational psychology in Public Administration in Gabon has not been studied yet. This thesis seeks to understand the impact of technologies on the Work-Related Quality of Life (WRQoL) factors and on psychological health and well-being in a larger governmental department. In this perspective, two studies (involving a mix of qualitative approaches with analysis and comprehension of their occupations, and of quantitative approaches with the measurement of the QWL and well-being), based on 91 senior civil servants, have been conducted, before and after the Ministry was computerised. The first study (T1) highlights the senior civil servants’ socio-professional and psychosocial conditions prior to the implementation of new technologies. As such, semi-structured interviews show that senior civil servants do their jobs depending on the nature of their positions. Findings reveal particularly inflexible and hierarchical organisational conditions. The presence and the pregnance of the «clannish culture » also determine working arrangements and communicating, which is mainly characterized by community-based working relationships and where ethnicity and regional belonging play a major role. Furthermore, QWL survey data show a relatively low level of psychological well-being in senior civil servants even though they feel positively about their various work situations. The second study (T2) describes senior civil servants’ socio-professional and psychosocial status six months following the implementation of new technologies. Our analyses show that the introduction of new technologies has led to big changes in work organisation, such as restructuring on the socio-professional, collective (a better collaboration and coordination), organizational (enhanced flexibility and initiatives) and personal (efficiency, reactivity and rapidity in carrying out administrative tasks) levels. Findings underline that senior civil servants set up new, more flexible plans of action when facing the inconsistencies revealed by the study. Statistical studies show that new technologies have a fairly positive impact on their psychological well-being. Devices also positively affect senior civil servants’ flexibility in decision-making, but paradoxically lead to a relatively high psychological demand. Yet, senior civil servants see their working conditions as positive in the technological context. The national (clannish) culture, which persists even after the introduction of technological tools, seems to play a mediating and even moderating role in the use and the impacts of ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) on senior civil servants’ psychological well-being and occupational health. To conclude, this thesis work provides key elements of reflection and analysis on the links between digitization of administrative activity and the concepts of QWL, well-being and health in public organizations of African developing countries such as Gabon
