Повний текст джерелаdesign, development and implementation, and evaluation of the EPSS. In first phase composed of performance and cause analyses, the CSI Unit&rsquo
s existing information, and contributing causal performance factors based on Gilbert&rsquo
Behavior Engineering Model were explored. In performance analysis phase, official documentation of the CSI Unit was reviewed. As for cause analysis, the survey and focus group interviews were conducted to 1176 and 22 CSI officers, respectively. These data were analyzed using with both quantitative and qualitative methods to facilitate the selection of the most appropriate intervention and its components. Analyses results revealed that 14 basic influences grouped under the workplace and competency on human behavior impacted performance of the officers. Based on these results, an EPSS composed of intrinsic, extrinsic and external levels, and support components was designed and developed in the second phase. Having been implemented, the evaluation of the EPSS based on the Kirkpatrick&rsquo
Four Levels of Evaluation Model was conducted v to determine the overall impact, perceived benefits, and effectiveness of the intervention in third phase. In this phase, a survey, interviews, computer logs and a checklist were used so as to assess the accomplishment of the EPSS. While the survey and the checklist were administered to the 191 officers and 2 experts from the field, the interviews were conducted with 12 officers. Evaluation results admitted that the CSI officers&rsquo
reactions were very positive to the EPSS. While, an intrinsic support made a major contribution to their productivity, establishing standardization would be perceived as the major impact of the EPSS. Lastly, increasing identity and simplifying criminal justice system were the two main impact factors on the society that the system would influence positively.

Повний текст джерелаInvesting in the ability to identify the different levels of performance of an institution\'s servers is one of the most important human resources management practices today. The employer seeks to characterize the different levels of performance and uses this information in a constructive way aiming at improving processes and results for the Institution. Regular performance evaluation is one way to identify and value good practices that align with the Institution\'s mission and values, and to provide feedback to correct directions and make necessary adjustments. There are several ways to evaluate the performance of members of a work team. However, the tendency has been to use computerized systems that increase the capacity to manage the data collected, control and feedback of the evaluations to the servers. Recently the Electronic Performance Evaluation System (SEAD) was implanted for the medical staff, at the Hospital das Clínicas of the Medical School of Ribeirão Preto of the University of São Paulo (HCFMRP-USP), in order to comply with the Law Complementary Act 1193/2013, which requires the performance evaluation of physicians of the State of São Paulo for the purpose of payment of the Medical Productivity Award (PPM). The objective is to describe and characterize the SEAD, besides evaluating the results of the first years of its implementation. It is characterized as a descriptive study in the initial part, where all the SEAD planning and implementation steps for the evaluation of HCFMRP-USP physicians were presented, including the main differences between the new system and the manual system that had previously been presented. In the next stage of implementation, it is characterized by a three-year \"action-research\" study in which several adjustments were made based on what was learned in the initial evaluations of the system itself. In the final stage interviews were made with the teachers evaluating the services with the largest number of HCRP physicians. This study was approved by the HCRP Ethics Committee. Among the results of the study we will present a detailed description of the SEAD applied in the medical area and the differences observed in relation to the evaluation systems previously used by the HCRP. Various information and indicators were obtained in real time and available to HCFMRP medical managers and human resources management, such as: the number of evaluated servers, the evaluators who carried out the evaluations or the evaluators who did not carry out the evaluations, the amount of servers evaluated by each evaluator, who was evaluated, the grade obtained and the percentage of receipt of PPM that each hospital doctor received. The results of the first years of use and the improvements that have been made in SEAD are also described in the results of this study. The perception of the evaluators and users of the system is that the SEAD represented gains in terms of data storage, access to information for decision-making and, above all, to foster the orientation of policies to encourage HCRP physicians in line with the interests of the system itself institution. In general, evaluators who voluntarily participated in the study evaluated SEAD in a very positive way. Evaluating staff for promotion or reward is always a challenge from a personal standpoint, and the availability of resources that increase transparency and promote equity with agility and simplicity are extremely important, especially for public organizations.

Повний текст джерелаNetwork on Chip is a scalable and flexible communication infrastructure for the design of core based System on Chip. Communication performance of a NoC depends heavily on the routing algorithm. Deterministic and adaptive distributed routing algorithms have been advocated in all the current NoC architectural proposals. In this thesis we make a case for the use of source routing for NoCs, especially for regular topologies like mesh. The advantages of source routing include in-order packet delivery; faster and simpler router design; and possibility of mixing non-minimal paths in a mainly minimal routing. We propose a method to compute paths for various communications in such a way that traffic congestion is avoided while ensuring deadlock free routing. We also propose an efficient scheme to encode the paths.
We developed a tool in Matlab that computes paths for source routing for both general and application specific communications. Depending upon the type of traffic, this tool computes paths for source routing by selecting best routing algorithm out of many routing algorithms. The tool uses a constructive path improvement algorithm to compute paths that give more uniform link load distribution. It also generates different types of traffics. We also developed a simulator capable of simulating source routing for mesh topology NoC. The experiments and simulations which we performed were successful and the results show that the advantages of source routing especially lower packet latency more than compensate its disadvantages. The results also demonstrate that source routing can be a good routing candidate for practical core based SoCs design using network on chip communication infrastructure.

The purpose of this study was to sum up key factors for electronic commerce (e-commerce) companies to be successful and further developed a fuzzy model to evaluate the performance of the companies. The study showed that the relationship with customers, glodal environment and market advantage, as well as management were key factors for a successful e-commerce company. Therefore, the three factors are chosen as the inputs of the fuzzy model and nine e-commerce companies: amazon, ebay, yahoo and etc, were used for the verification of performance. The relationship between the factors and profit rate was investigated. With the verification of the fuzzy model, the factor of indoor operation management was found to have more influence on profit rate than other factors. The factor of global environment and market advantage was more related to the future of a company. The prototype of fuzzy expert system was build based on the operation information of prestigious e-commerce company to evaluate their performance. It could serve as a supporting system for decision making and mechanism for the accumulation of knowledge to reduce the resort to experts.

Based on the importance of Taiwan as the world’s second largest supplier of electronic passive devices, this study combines the usage of data from the sampling survey files of the 2001 Taiwan Industry Census and the analytical model of Ba-Gua Causal Chains to evaluate business performance of three different clusters by scale in that industry in terms of both the dimension of specialized operation and synthetic management, and the dimension of ego-fulfillment and in-company altruistic fulfillment. Evidence obtained from the weighted t-tests of weighted correlation coefficients between pairs of management variables can be used to identify the benchmark chain and critical chain, and in turn, improvement suggestions were provided. Due to the relative excellent performance of large-scale cluster, this study further works on case study for the number one revenue ranking company. In contrast to other large-scale companies in the same industry, thirteen operational characteristics and the other fourteen operational characteristics and performance corresponded to its specialized operation and synthetic management activities are recognized from its income statement and balance sheet respectively. The contribution of this study is to fulfill the first ever holistic quantitative performance evaluation for Taiwan’s Electronic Passive Device Manufacturing Industry. Since the calculations and analytical model can better capture the whole picture of business performance in terms of input-process-output, it was expected that they would provide an alternative to the existing industry research and performance evaluation method in that it combines the advantages of inferential statistics and descriptive statistics.
Njova, Dion. "Evaluating of DNP3 protocol over serial eastern operating unit substations and improving SCADA performance." Diss., 2021. http://hdl.handle.net/10500/27683.
Повний текст джерелаSupervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) is a critical part of monitoring and controlling of the electrical substation. The aim of this dissertation is to investigate the performance of the Distributed Network Protocol Version 3.3 (DNP3) protocol and to compare its performance to that of International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) 61850 protocol in an electrical substation communication network environment. Building an electrical substation control room and installing the network equipment was going to be expensive and take a lot of time. The better option was to build a model of the electrical substation communication network and run simulations. Riverbend modeller academic edition known as Optimized Network Engineering Tool (OPNET) was chosen as a software package to model substation communication network, DNP3 protocol and IEC 61850 Protocol stack. Modelling the IEC 61850 protocol stack on OPNET involved building the used Open System Interconnection (OSI) layers of the IEC 61850 protocol stack onto the application definitions of OPNET. The Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) configuration settings of DNP3 protocol were also modelled on the OPNET application definitions. The aim is to compare the two protocols and determine which protocol is the best performing one in terms of throughput, data delay and latency. The substation communication model consists of 10 ethernet nodes which simulate protection Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), 13 ethernet switches, a server which simulates the substation Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) and the DNP3 Protocol over TCP/IP simulated on the model. DNP3 is a protocol that can be used in a power utility computer network to provide communication service for the grid components. DNP3 protocol is currently used at Eskom as the communication protocol because it is widely used by equipment vendors in the energy sector. DNP3 protocol will be modelled before being compared to the new recent robust protocol IEC 61850 in the same model and determine which protocol is the best for Eskom on the network of the power grid. The network load and packet delay parameters were sampled when 10%, 50%, 90% and 100% of devices are online. The IEC 61850 protocol model has three scenarios and they are normal operation of a Substation, maintenance in a Substation and Buszone operation at a Substation. In these scenarios packet end to end delay of Generic Object Oriented Substation Event (GOOSE), vi © University of South Africa 2020 Generic Substation Status Event (GSSE), Sampled Values (SV) and Manufacturing Messaging Specification (MMS) messages are monitored. The throughput from the IED under maintenance and the throughput at the Substation RTU end is monitored in the model. Analysis of the results of the DNP3 protocol simulation showed that with an increase in number of nodes there was an increase in packet delay as well as the network load. The load on the network should be taken into consideration when designing a substation communication network that requires a quick response such as a smart gird. GOOSE, GSSE, SV results on the IEC 61850 model met all the requirements of the IEC 61850 standard and the MMS did not meet all the requirements of the IEC standard. The design of the substation communication network using IEC 61850 will assist when trying to predict the behavior of the network with regards to this specific protocol during maintenance and when there are faults in the communication network or IED’s. After the simulation of the DNP3 protocol and the IEC 61850 the throughput of DNP3 protocol was determined to be in the range (20 – 450) kbps and the throughput of IEC61850 protocol was determined to be in the range (1.6 – 16) Mbps.

With the global overall arrangement of business and the introduction of enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, senior executives of manufacturing industry face difficulties for solving the problems of factory information and management performance evaluation when related strategies of the factory development are made. In the cause of helping managers to estimate factory management performance evaluation based on an integrated model, the purposes of present study are to investigate ‘how a cross-national enterprise evaluates factory management performance’. In other words, managers can establish precisely the needed strategy of factory through performance evaluation system. Relative data are established by analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and data envelopment analysis (DEA), and then the derived unstructured and structured data of factory management performance evaluation factor are stored in data warehouse. Further, managers can understand factory management situation more effectively by the use of decision support system and it is also good to trace the subsequent factory performance evaluation and make related strategies of the development. The empirical example of this study is an electronic factory in north Taiwan publishing legal listed securities. First, by way of case study and interviewing professionals, the initial requirements are identified. Then, based on database of ERP System, the prototype of web-based factory management performance evaluation system on intranet is built by the evolutionary prototyping approach. When the prototype system is used by managers of the target company, it outputs an analytical result from the returned information of integrating different performance evaluation factors. The empirical results from the prototype system can be used to explain how decision makers effectively manage several critical performance indicators of factory. Finally, based on the values of critical performance indicators, several managerial analyses and strategies related to the environment of factory management can be performed and obtained respectively, so as to optimize the resource distribution of factory management and obtain the goal for maximizing the company profit.

Abstract The product application of microcontrollers (MCU) in consumer electronics is wide spread, appearing in various markets, such as smart home, automotive and industrial automation. The emerging Internet of Things (IoT) technology is also founded on MCUs. As a result, the MCU industry competition is is crowded and highly competitive. The context of this study, Company G, is a major agent for a famous global MCU manufacturer, which has customers all over various application domains, including industrial, automotive, power supply/motor/fan, smart home, etc. The primary strength of Company G is in the application of MUCs in power supply/motor/fan related products in Taiwan. A major problem for Company G in expanding its marketing and sales lies in the management of its Field Application Engineering (FAE) Department. The allocation of engineers to projects, and the performance evaluation of the engineers not only affect the performance of the department, but also result in poor customer services, which in turn limit the ability of the sales department to expand its market. Company G follows similar practice as other electronic component agents, whereby its primary customer contact is its Sales department while the Sales Department secure orders, arrange the shipping schedule, and perform other customer services,. the preliminary tasks of introducing new components, explaining technical details, and conducting technical feasibility studies has to rely on the technical support of the FAE team. In handling customers’ complains, FAE is also responsible to solve the technical problems, so that customers problems can be resolved. Thus, the FAE department plays an important role for the success of Company G. This study critically reviews the problems of the management of the FAE department and proposes managerial changes in several aspects, namely, organization restructuring, process reengineering, transfer pricing and internal competition. These will hopefully result in better personal performance by the FAE engineers, and better collaboration between the Sales and the FAE departments. This will in turn result in better customer satisfaction and more competitive business operations. Key words: Field Application Engineering (FAE), Motivation, Responsibility, Internal competition

Повний текст джерелаThis work aims at exemplifying, in the scope of the evolution of the roles of State and public administration, the development of a technological information and communication system to support a licensing activity (in this case of plant protection products), having in mind the precepts of New Public Management and New Public Service. It is intended to show the options to make in the search for efficiency gains and the amelioration of the services provided to the costumer (in the sense of NPM), as well as in the improvement of the transmission of information to all stakeholders, aimed at their involvement, in the logic of NPS. The management of information in the Portuguese plant protection system is described, constraints of the organisation identified and resolution measures proposed, namely through process reengineering and use of information and communication technologies in the direction of the maximum dematerialisation of a set of licensing procedures, that are demanding from the technical and from the legal points of view, either for the applicants or for the regulating authority. The need of interconnection of document, workflow and website management is discussed as an essential prerequisite, not only in a perspective of the licensing procedures contemplated, but also their integration in the activity of the organization, namely with the organizational and individual performance evaluation system. Finally, the expected results of the technological information system proposed are discussed, namely the improvements expected regarding efficacy, efficiency and quality of governance of the authorisation system of plant protection products. A SWOT analysis is presented, already achieved milestones are detailed and future developments proposed.
