The dynamics of magnetic fusion plasmas in the Reversed Field Pinch (RFP) configuration are studied using an incompressible magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) description. A pseudospectral method combined with a volume penalization method are used to resolve the governing equations in a straight cylinder. Numerical simulations show that the pressure effects on the RFP dynamics cannot be neglected, and thus the _ parameter is not adequate to characterize the importance of pressure in the dynamics. A new parameter, _0r , which is the ratio of the pressure gradient’s magnitude to the Lorentz force’s magnitude, is proposed to be the proper parameter to describe the RFP dynamics. Another investigated influence on the RFP dynamics is the shaping of the poloidal cross-section. Simulations of flows with the same Lundquist number and different cross-sections (circular and elliptic) show a clear change in the spectral behaviour, as well as in the radial turbulent diffusion. Finally, the RFP flows are used to study the dynamo effect. Numerical results show that RFP flows are capable of amplifying a seed magnetic field, which will have tendency to be more nonlinear than the RFP magnetic field in the turbulent regime

Turbulence is a phenomenon present in most streams. Near a boundary, its main effect is to increase the stream drag. Thus it can be interesting to weaken turbulence in order to decrease drag. Several studies have shown that the use of a magnetic field could weaken turbulence. Indeed, in a conducting fluid moving under a magnetic fluid counter-movement forces appear. This study aims at determining, under both subsonic and supersonic conditions, the effect of a magnetic field on a turbulent channel flow, especially on coherent structures of the boundary layer and on drag. Results have shown an increase of the sensibility to the magnetic field with compressibility. Reorganisation of coherent structures of boundary layer is also shown. A last, magnetic field causes a participation to drag but causes to a decrease in turbulent drag that is more important

High-purity enantioseparation is essential for the pharmaceutical and food industries. Conventional chiral separation techniques provide a wide range of methods, all of which rely on chiral selectors - stationary phases or molecules that discriminate enantiomers through stereospecific interaction. Despite the vast number of natural and synthetic selectors currently in use, the increasing demand for enantiopurity is driving research for new and versatile methods. The aim of this thesis is to investigate alternative methods of chiral separation that involve the application of magnetic fields in various configurations. One idea centers around the concept of true and false chirality, which was introduced by L. Barron for dynamic systems of individual objects and physical vector quantities. His discussion explicitly states that neither static magnetic nor electric fields, nor any combination of those, possess true chirality, the feature required to induce enantiomeric discimination. However, his theory suggests a molecular analog of the well-known Faraday effect based on the collinear application of magnetic field to a molecular flow.Alternatively, a perpendicular configuration with the molecular flow involving a ferromagnetic substrate has demonstrated enantiospecific spin interactions, otherwise known as the CISS effect. In this regard, our main objective was the further exploration of such interactions in dynamic conditions of capillary electrophoresis, which provides simple and fast detection, while introducing Ni substrates along the flow of molecules and applying an orthogonal magnetic field.Lastly, the orthogonal configuration of the magnetic field was exploited to study the dynamic behavior of electropolarized objects. The patterns of the resulting rotation, exhibited by different objects under the influence of a magnetohydrodynamic effect, originating from the induced Lorentz force, are shown to be dependent on magnetic field polarity. Their dynamic behavior as a function of time resembles those of falsely chiral systems

This work analyzes the influence of a magnetic field parallel to the electrode on two electrochemical systems of industrial interest : the deposit of Cu on substrates inducing no epitaxy and deposits of Ni-Fe alloys. The characterization of the deposits was led with several physical and electrochemical techniques. The results show that : The magnetic field does not modify the nucleation of Cu on a conductive substrate (glassy C or Ti) : the only measurable results are the magneto-induced convective effects on the growth of Cu. On TiO2, a phenomenon of anisotropy confirms the existence of a transverse electric field. The phenomenon, sensitive with moderate fields, was put in evidence in a spectacular way under the intense fields available on the LMCI of Grenoble. For electrodeposition of Ni-Fe alloys, the results show that the magnetic field increases the convective rate of the ferrous ions to the electrode. These species inhibit the Ni deposit and lead to alloys considerably enriched in Fe

One of the main challenges of accretion disk theory in astrophysics is to identify efficient angular momentum transport mechanisms in disks. The most popular scenario is that this transport is due to the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) turbulence triggered by the magnetorotational instability (MRI), which requires the existence of a magnetic field. This raises the question of the origin and sustainement of such a field in disks. A subcritical nonlinear dynamo process, involving the MRI, may be responsible for the joint excitation of MHD turbulence and magnetic fields in Keplerian shear flow. Similar dynamos driven by other MHD instabilities may also be active in stellar interiors. However, the detailed mechanisms underlying the excitation of the MRI dynamo are not well understood. Numerical results suggest that this mechanism may not be sustained at low magnetic Prandtl number (ratio between viscosity and magnetic diffusivity), a common dissipation regime in accretion disks. The purpose of this thesis has been to understand the physical conditions of excitation of this dynamo and the role of dissipative effects on the transition to self-sustained MHD turbulence. For this purpose, we investigated in detail the nature of the transition and the role of tridimensional nonlinear periodic solutions in this problem. First, we showed that the emergence of chaotic dynamo action is primarily associated with global bifurcations involving such cycles. We then attempted to elucidate the physical origin of the Pm dependence of the transition. Using a detailed energy analysis of several dynamo cycles, we found that "turbulent" diffusion makes the excitation of the dynamo increasingly difficult for decreasing Pm. This very generic effect could be an important determinant of MRI dynamo excitation in disks, and may also limit the efficiency of angular momentum transport by MRI turbulence at low Pm

The angular momentum regulation is a hot topic in star formation. From the molecular cloud to th final star, the system loses most of its angular momentum, and several processes are proposed to explain this phenomenon. We focus on non-ideal magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), which describes the coupling between a fluid and its magnetic field. Its efficiency to regulate the angular momentum in realistic conditions has been shown in several studies. First, we develop a code that computes the chemical equilibrium of elements present in the early stages of star formation. We can therefore obtain the values of coefficients defining the strength of the phyical processes associated with non-ideal MHD. We then take interest in one of them, the Hall effect, still poorly studied in this context. We implement it in the eulerian code RAMSES, and use it to quantify its influence during a gravitational collapse. As predicted by theory, the Hall effect greatly influences the size of the protoplanetary disk, in which planets form, and creates envelopes of gas rotating backward compared to the rest of the system

_______________
Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) is both the science and the formalism that describe the motion of an electro-conducting fluid. Such motion may yield the dynamo effect consisting in the spontaneous generation of a large scale stationary magnetic field. This phenomenon is most likely the reason behind the existence of planetary, stellar and galactic magnetic fields.

Box-simulations of rotating magnetoconvection in the Earth's fluid core. Simulations of the 3D MHD-equations have been performed using the code NIRVANA. The equations for compressible rotating magnetoconvection are numerically solved in a Cartesian box assuming conditions roughly suitable for the geodynamo. The characteristics of averaged quantities like the turbulence intensity and the turbulent heat flux that are caused by the combined action of the small-scale fluctuations are computed. The correlation length of the turbulence significantly depends on the strength and orientation of the magnetic field and the anisotropic behavior of the turbulence intensity induced by Coriolis and Lorentz force is considerably more pronounced for faster rotation. The development of an isotropic behavior on the small scales -- as it is observed in pure rotating convection -- vanishes even for weak magnetic fields, which results in a turbulent flow that is dominated by the vertical component. In the presence of a horizontal magnetic field the vertical turbulent heat flux slightly increases with increasing field strength, so that cooling of the rotating system is facilitated. Horizontal transport of heat is always directed westwards and towards the poles. The latter might be a source of a large-scale meridional flow whereas the first would be important in global simulations in case of non-axisymmetric boundary conditions for the heat flux. The mean electromotive force describing the generation of mean magnetic flux by turbulence in the rotating fluid is directly calculated from the simulations and the corresponding α-coefficients are derived. Due to the very weak density stratification, the α-effect changes its sign in the middle of the box. It is positive at the top and negative at the bottom of the convective instable layer. For strong magnetic fields we also find a clear downward advection of the mean magnetic field. Finally the quenching behavior of the α-effect in dependence of the imposed magnetic field strength is presented. A geodynamo-model is constructed, which is based on an α-effect that has been computed from the box simulations. For a highly restricted class of radial α-profiles the linear α^2-model exhibits oscillating solutions on a timescale given by the turbulent diffusion time. The basic properties of the periodic solutions are presented and the influence of the inner core size on the characteristics of the critical range that allows for oscillating solutions is shown. Reversals are interpreted as half of such an oscillation. They are rather seldom events because they can only occur if the α-profile exists long enough within the small critical range that allows for periodic solutions. Due to strong fluctuations on the convective timescale the probability of such a reversal is very small. Finally, a simple non-linear mean-field model with reasonable input parameters based on the box-simulations demonstrates the plausibility of the presented theory with a long-time series of a (geo-)dynamo reversal sequence.

Background: Living with epilepsy leads to increased psychological stress. People with epilepsy often have insufficient knowledge about the disease and the need for education is essential. The person needs to learn the symptoms and ways to avoid exposing themselves to situations that may trigger seizures. Health professionals have an important role in education, counseling and support to people with epilepsy and their families. The aim of this literature overview was to describe and evaluate the effects of education to people with epilepsy and / or its family. To answer this, a literature overview was selected as a method consisting of scientific articles with a quantitative approach. The result showed that to educate individuals and / or its family in the knowledge of epilepsy and self-care ability could be successfully be carried out. Quality of life in people with epilepsy does not seem to get effect of patient education. The conclusion was that education seems to have positive effect for people with epilepsy on knowledge and self-care ability. Continued research with randomized, controlled trials with larger sample would be of great value to further increase the knowledge about the effects of education in people living with epilepsy.

Background: Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a method to treat primarily alcohol abuse, but has been increasingly integrated into the treatment of other substance abuse. Most studies of MI have been conducted in adults why the effects of MI in this group are mostly paved. The number of adolescents with substance abuse is increasing, leading to why an investigation concerning the studies on MI focused on this age group (14-24 years) seems both relevant and necessary. Aim: The aim of this study was to elucidate the effect of MI in the work with adolescents who hold a substance abuse. Method: A literature review. Results: The intervention with MI led to a consumption reduction, increased motivation, and reduced drug-related problems. Conclusions: MI has a therapeutic effect in adolescents with substance abuse. The results are consistent with previous research and support the utility of a brief MI intervention in adolescents with substance abuse problems. However, there was an expansion in abstinence from the use of heavier drugs.

Background: Pressure ulcers are common in health care. A connection has been made between poor nutritional status and pressure ulcers. One way of affecting the nutritional status could be by giving nutritional supplements and by this affect the healing of pressure ulcers positively. The registered nurse is responsible of providing this care. An issue could be the lack of knowledge regarding nutritional supplements. Aim: The purpose of this study was to describe the nutritional supplements effect on pressure ulcer healing. Method: The study was executed as a literature review (n=10) based on quantitative studies. Result: The result of the study showed that most of the nutritional supplements have had a positive effect. Supplements such as arginine, vitamin C and zinc in combination and hydrolysated protein gave an improved wound healing. The supplement containing fish oil showed no significant improvements. Conclusion: Nutritional supplements containing arginine, vitamin C and zinc showed a positive effect on the healing of pressure ulcers. Studies show that nurses’ knowledge regarding nutrition in ulcer care is incomplete. If the reason behind this is that the information is difficult to understand our hope is that this study will make it easier to learn more about nutritional supplements, what supplements that should be used and its role in pressure ulcer care.

Background: Diagnosed cases of people with type 1 diabetes are growing globally and complications can occur in correlation with the disease. Low carbohydrate diets have shown to be a potential method to improve blood sugar regulation. Nurses are responsible for dietary advice and therefore more knowledge is needed on the subject as the scientific basis is insufficient. Aim: The aim of this thesis was to examine the impact of a low carbohydrate diet for people with type 1 diabetes. Method: A literature study of 10 scientific articles was conducted with an inductive approach. Results: The following main categories was presented: bodily changes and experiences. The subcategories were: blood sugar, insulin, blood fats, ketones, weight and BMI, vital parameters, positive experiences and challenges. The effects of low carbohydrate diets varied regarding blood sugar, insulin, blood fats, weight and blood pressure. BMI improved, ketone levels were raised, diabetic ketoacidosis occurred and experiences with a low-carbohydrate diet varied. Conclusion: Nurses and nursing students need information about low carbohydrate diets and type 1 diabetes. In this way adequate information, evidence-based care and person-centered care can be offered to people with type 1 diabetes.

This work concerns the study of an electric arc of the lightning strike of an aircraft during current pulse. The study is narrowed to a one dimensional geometry, without interaction between the arc and the fuselage of the aircraft. The magnetohydrodynamic model is based on the hypothesis of a plasma at local thermal equilibrium, of a compressible fluid and of a quasi static electromagnetic field. The study is composed of two main parts. In a first step the hypothesis of the model are studied; their influence on the dynamic of the channel of the arc is enlightened. It is shown that the modeling of the arc during a current pulse has to take into account the Laplace force, the Neumann induction in order to simulate the inductive effects, the whole radiative transfer (emission and absorption); the Lorentz induction can be neglected. The second part treats of the evolution of the arc during the current pulse in several configurations. In this part, the effects of the altitude on the expansion of the arc are studied; it is shown that the higher the aircraft is struck, the less powerful the thermal and mechanic constraint is. The non linear growth of the constraint (Joule effect and pressure) on the material with the increase of maximum current is also shown. Then, current waves of different types are studied and we show that the constraints are really close for the same currrent level whatever the form of the current wave. Finally, the study of a current impulse taking place after a continuous current lightning arc is led. From it, we show that the constraint on the fuselage is weaker in this configuration, both because of the quicker growth of the channel radius and the weaker pressure

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common of dementia and the number of people diagnosed with AD is expected to rise significantly over time. In addition, people diagnosed with AD often exhibit the Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD), which include agitation, depression, delusions, agitation, anxiety, hallucinations, sleep disturbances, anxiety and apathy. These symptoms can cause suffer to the patient and is difficult to manage for both the caregiver and family members, as well as hampers nursing. Aim: the aim was to describe non-pharmacological methods and effects of these methods when caring for people with Alzheimer's disease who have behavioural and psychological symptoms. Method: a literature review consisting of 16 selected quantitative research articles has been performed. The selected articles ware published between years 2006- 2016. Results: The studied non-pharmacological methods were: music therapy, certain types of massage, reminiscence therapy, dog therapy and light therapy. The results showed that non-pharmacological methods can have a varying effect on BPSD. The literature review showed that music intervention was most effective in reducing agitated behaviour. Individualized music in conjunction with special memories reduced stress, phobias for persons with severe dementia. The hand massage, aroma therapy, tactile massage and therapeutic touch decreased aggression and agitated behaviour. Some studies showed that foot massage intervention and dog therapy could increase the verbal aggression for people with dementia, while another study showed that animal-assisted activities could reduce depression and increase joy and general attention. The effect of light therapy was an improved sleep, decreased depression, agitation, and eating disorders. Conclusions: non-pharmacological nursing interventions can reduce behavioural and psychological symptoms for people with Alzheimer's disease, however, with varying effect. The varying results can be interpreted as following: nonpharmacological nursing interventions should be adapted in each individual case and that there is a need for further research in this area.

Background: The prevalence of diabetes continues to rise worldwide, and oneexplanation being the decrease in positive lifestyle habits which often lead to weight gain and obesity, well known risk factors for diabetes type 2. Diabetes type 2 can be more easily managed by lifestyle changes. One counselling approach which has been found to have positive effect on lifestyle changes is Motivational Interviewing (MI).Treatment that involve short interventions have shown to have positive effects and may be useful in an often time poor environment such as the healthcare system. Objective: To map out and describe the effects of interventions based on motivational interviewing (MI) done in treatment of people with diabetes type 2. Methodology: Literature review of nine quantitative scientific articles. The databases Cinahl with full text, MEDLINE, PubMed, PsycINFO, Scopus and Google Scholar was used. Results: Physiological effects, diet, psychological effects and personal care were addressed. An effect of MI over time was found on several areas such as HbA1c, weight, knowledge about and understanding of diabetes type 2, compliance to physical activity, locus of control as well as personal self-care. However a lack of significant differences were found between groups in several studies. Conclusion: The results of the literature review are inconsistent. Motivational interviewing may be a possible counselling approach to apply in the nursing setting together with people with diabetes type 2, as a way to improve health behaviours such and decrease the risk of complications.
Barsk, Josefine, and Sofia Lindberg. "Vem? Säger vad? I vilken kanal? Till vem? Med vilken effekt? : Bloggen som en del av företags marknadskommunikation." Thesis, Linköping University, Department of Management and Engineering, 2009. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:liu:diva-53123.
Background and problem: The blog as a marketing tool has increased in recent years. Companies have started to communicate messages through blog texts with the hope to increase their credibility and thus power, this has raised a debate on product placement and hidden advertising. How can companies apply blog communication as a marketing tool without violating the law and what are the risks and opportunities of this approach?
Objective: The aim of this paper is to map and identify companies’ ways of deliberately using private blogs in their marketing strategy and how to deal with potential risks and opportunities sprung from this form of marketing.
Method: Our study is based on a qualitative approach in which we implemented an analysis of the ten largest private blogs in Sweden. We also interviewed 15 companies who are active in communicating through these blogs. Secondary data were collected through literature, articles and electronic sources.
Conclusion: Companies are using blogs as a complement to traditional media. Commercial communications through these blogs are applied in the form of banners, contests and sponsorships of various activities. Product sponsorship has recently become a popular way for companies to end up in the blog text, which is seen as a more credible medium. The opportunities companies see with this communication tool is that the message is credible and more personal because bloggers are seen as influential people who many look up to. It is also a measurable and relatively inexpensive tool to use to reach a specific audience. Risks that companies are aware of are the fact that a blog is an uncontrolled forum where company brand care is outsourced to the blogger and then viewed by the end consumer. This creates a loss of control over what is communicated to the market. The blog as a communication tool will continue to grow as long as blogs have many readers and therefore can reach out to specific target groups. New trends and market changes provide incentive for continued evolution and development of the blog, or will make the blog shift shape into a new form for further interactive activity on the Internet.
Proposal for further research: What we thought about during our research is how consumers look at the companies’ collaboration with bloggers. To implement a quantitative research study would be interesting. By doing so we would be able to better understand the profound effect blog marketing has on the population.
Hamza, Taha Mohamed. "Doped ZnO nanostructures for Mid Infrared plasmonics." Thesis, Lyon, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017LYSEC051/document.
The scope of this thesis is about developing SEIRA (surface enhanced IR absorption) platform to probe low volumes of environmental gases that possess molecular signature from 3.3 μm to 5.1 μm leveraging the high field amplification of localised surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). To realise SEIRA, we demonstrated tuning MIR LSPR in Al or Ga doped ZnO nanocrystals (NCs) as well as in GZO or core-shell (ZnO/GZO) nanowires (NWs). Regarding tuning MIR LSPR in NCs, we demonstrated tunable MIR LSPR in Ga and Al doped ZnO NCs from 3 to 5 μm varying the Al or Ga content from 3 to 9 at.%. The incorporation of dopant was homogeneous up to 6%. At 9% dopant concentration, the incorporation was inhomogeneous, revealing the solubility limit has been reached. However, the NCs exhibited low activation of impurities. The activation was as low as 8%. The LSPR were characterised by large broadening as well. In order to enhance the dopant activation, we synthesized the NCs in O-poor conditions as well as passivated the NCs fabricated in O-rich condictions (by isolating and embedding them in matrices such as Al2O3 and SiO2 matrices). Both strategies improved the dopant activation from 8% up to 20%. Moreover, for assemblies of NCs dispersed in matrices, the broadening (FWHM) of the LSPR was reduced by half (from 2200 cm-1 in as-deposited NCs to 1100 cm-1 in embedded NCs). Correspondingly, the effect of the self-assembly of the nanocrystals on their LSPR was modeled by FDTD simulation and provided hindsight into the mechanisms responsible for the heterogeneous broadening of the LSPR. Finally, we have studied Ga-doped ZnO (GZO) and core-shell (ZnO/GZO) NW synthesized by MOCVD. The first important conclusion is that Ga plays a major surfactant role during the MOCVD growth of GZO. Instead of leading to hexagonal NWs, the introduction of Ga during the synthesis led to faceted “Christmas-tree” like architectures. The same observation held for core-shell ZnO-GZO nanowires; in the latter case, the GZO shell resulted in a dewetting branched architecture. Regarding their optical properties, photo-acoustic FTIR measurements revealed an absorption feature related to the Ga content, likely to be assigned to a plasmonic effect. This resonance could be tuned from 1600 to 1900 cm

Background: Dementia is an incurable disease. Dementia can lead to serious symptoms such as language difficulties, dysfunction and behavioral changes. People with dementia need a special and well-suited environment. People with dementia need security in their daily lives, which becomes an important task for the nurse. In nursing work, the nurse will aim to increase the wellbeing of patients. In this case, the environment is designed in the dining room based on the patient's conditions. Aim: To describe the design of the meal environment and how it affects people with dementia. Method: A literature review has been carried out. Eleven quantitative scientific articles have been used for the study. The articles have been selected from the CINAHL and PubMed databases corresponding to the purpose. The articles have been analyzed with Friberg’s analysis method to be completed as material for the result. Results: The result is based on a theme; the environment around the patients when they eat and three subtemes; the importance of music in the meal situation; the importance of lighting in the meal situation; the meaning of a home-like dining room. These describe the various resources required to increase the well-being of patients with dementia. Discussion: The meal environment had a major impact on people with dementia. The environment in the dining room was adapted to the patient's requirements. The changing meal environment increased patient wellbeing. The home-like environment, calm background music and sufficient lighting during the meal were of great importance to the patient. The positive effect could contribute to increased calorie intake and decreased negative behavior in patients.

Title: Communities – A marketing channel with effect?
Purpose: To describe communities as a marketing channel and its communication effect.
Method: Primary data was collected through face-to-face, telephone and e-mail interviews. These interviews were used to gather information on the case studies used in this thesis. Four Swedish online communities namely Lunarstorm, Glife, Nightlife and Nattstad were used. Secondary data used in this thesis has consisted of books, articles and online sources.
Conclusion: Companies using communities as marketing channels have the added advantage of a higher segmentation which means that they can easier find and reach their target audience. One of the problems associated with this medium is that today many companies still suffer from a lack of knowledge when it comes to communities due to the fact that this medium has not been paid the attention that it needs. Companies prefer to rely more on the traditional marketing channels like TV, newspapers and radio. With this new found interest in communities and the attention being paid to them in the media, more and more companies are opening their eyes to these new marketing channels and are choosing to learn more about them.

Aim - The purpose of this systematic review was to compile research evaluating the effect of eccentric training and compared with alternative therapy, on pain and function in patients with chronic patellar tendinopathy. Method - Search of the literature was done in PubMed, Web of Science, Cinahl and AMED. 12 articles were selected for review using the PEDro scale. Points assessment were traded with SBU template probative value of evidence level and summarized in tabular form. Results - The results of this study showed that eccentric training reduces pain and increases function of patients with patellar tendinopathy. Compared to other treatments eccentric training is as effective as surgery, Heavy Slow Resistance and more effective than cortisone injection at long term follow-up. Also more effective than friction and ultrasound. One article had high quality and the rest medium quality. Conclusions -Current research provides an indication that eccentric exercise results in a decrease in pain and improved function in patients with patellar tendinopathy, however, the use of other therapies has proven to give the same effect and can be used if there is a possibility to. To ensure efficacy against other treatments more studies with high quality comparing the same methods are needed. In the current situation there are too few studies that actually compare the same things which make it difficult to say with certainty that eccentric training is better than any other treatment.

Due to the increasing globalization companies working across borders with suppliers in foreign countries is more a rule than an exception. Managing the cooperation regarding cultural differences as well as language barriers and physical distance is therefore becoming a larger part of company and production management. Using documents in the form of a Suppliers Guide could be an answer to making the collaboration solid and sustainable. By utilizing the idea of a Code of Conduct but incorporating other relevant parts of the production, such as routines in ordering, delivering etc, it is possible to provide a handbook for consistent work with all the companies’ suppliers. This article explores the matter of Suppliers Guides, what problems they solve, what they should include, as well as what effect they could have on the ordering company. This study was conducted through a literature study combined with interviews, a case study and a study of suppliers guides. The conclusion makes clear different aspects of implementing a Suppliers Guide including a suggestion of a framework for the subject of the Case study. Finding that Suppliers Guides could be a good help in eliminating common issues when working with a variety of suppliers, as they are a way of improving communication. Suppliers guides give possibilities of efficiency as long as surrounding internal routines are adapted.

The purpose of this study was to investigate if regular physical activity can affect a person’s nutritional habits, which in this study focused on breakfast. The study also examined in what way the breakfast habits had been changed and if the change was dependent on sex and age. The study was of empirical, descriptive design. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with a total of 98 participants, 50 women and 48 men (16-75 years old). According to the results, the combined fitness regime (cardio-vascular exercise and resistance training) was dominant among both sexes. Pure resistance training was more common among men while women practiced cardio-vascular exercise more frequently. Further, the result showed very little difference between the participants who said that breakfast habits had changed due to exercise and those who did not experience any change at all. A few more women answered that breakfast habits had been affected compared to the men where the answers were equally divided between being affected and not. The majority of those who reported altered breakfast habits were found in the two youngest groups, among both sexes. In the oldest group no one reported that exercise had affected their breakfast habits. Common causes for change of breakfast habits proved to be increased appetite, to provide the body with enough energy to perform, to get the best result from training and to create a healthy lifestyle.

The effect of window in the external dielectric surrounding a wire is examined by means of two approach methods. The first method yields analytical results but ignores the singularities in the dielectric to achieve this result. The second method integrates the singularities of the field in the window and yields a final result by means of numerical computations. The two methods are complementary and compatible, then they give results which are near to each other for the propagation constant. The second method is adapted to the best result of a given technical situation. This study has put in light that a window in the dielectric sheath locally increases the electric near field. This result can be used in hyperthermical applications in biology and in medecine, so the way to technological transferts are opened
