Анотація:

In addition to theory testing, researchers have also examined if exercise interventions serve to enhance psychological constructs such as self-esteem and behavior such as functional fitness, activities of daily living (ADL), and physical activity. The purpose of this chapter is to review the physical activity (PA) intervention research and offer criticisms and future research directions. Laboratory PA interventions have been effective at increasing physical capacity, muscular strength, walking ability, and reducing body weight, stress, depression, and pain. However, laboratory research has been criticized for lacking ecological validity, thus researchers have also investigated whether lifestyle-type community or field-based interventions are effective. Researchers have shown that increasing social support for PA is effective for adults, and water-based activities help children with cerebral palsy increase their functional fitness. Nontraditional approaches such as yoga, massage, relaxation, and mindfulness training might be considered potential antecedents of reduced negative affect, increased positive affect, and enhanced functional fitness.

Monitoring is integral to all aspects of policy and management for threatened biodiversity. It is fundamental to assessing the conservation status and trends of listed species and ecological communities. Monitoring data can be used to diagnose the causes of decline, to measure management effectiveness and to report on investment. It is also a valuable public engagement tool. Yet in Australia, monitoring threatened biodiversity is not always optimally managed. Monitoring Threatened Species and Ecological Communities aims to improve the standard of monitoring for Australia's threatened biodiversity. It gathers insights from some of the most experienced managers and scientists involved with monitoring programs for threatened species and ecological communities in Australia, and evaluates current monitoring programs, establishing a baseline against which the quality of future monitoring activity can be managed. Case studies provide examples of practical pathways to improve the quality of biodiversity monitoring, and guidelines to improve future programs are proposed. This book will benefit scientists, conservation managers, policy makers and those with an interest in threatened species monitoring and management. This chapter proposes a way to understand the social, distributed and ecological underpinnings of improvised musical activity. It argues that significant aspects of collaborative performance may arise from perceptual, cognitive and action-orientated factors, in relation to prior experience and the broader historical and cultural context. The chapter illustrates ways in which each improviser in a collaboration may attune to different aspects of the circumstances, with idiosyncratic perceptions of the available affordances guided by attentional processes, physical aspects of the human body and musical instrument, and associations with prior experience. The experience of each musician in a collaborative improvisation thus both overlaps with and diverges from those of other musicians in the ensemble. These divergences are as important as the common ground, and are thus essential to any plausible and comprehensive account of collaborative improvisation.

This manual provides guidelines for organizing joint creative activities of children and adult members of their families. The organization of this activity is considered as a key component of social and pedagogical support of the family as a subject of designing the individual educational trajectory of the child. The general psychological and pedagogical characteristics of joint creative activity of children and adults are given. The content and stages of its tutor support are characterized. The results achieved in the process are described This activity is carried out by children and adult members of their families. Recommendations are given for assessing the creative achievements of participants in joint activities in the event format of the Festival of Family Creativity. For social workers, teachers of institutions of general and additional education working in the sphere of social and pedagogical support of the family, as well as for parents focused on the values of individualized education.

This volume is dedicated to the memory of the outstanding humanities scholar Leo S. (Lev Samuilovich) Klejn (1927–2019). A short biographical essay provides an overview of the main landmarks of Klejn’s life and the main stages of his scholarly and pedagogical career. The articles included in the volume reflect a wide range of Klejn’s scholarly interests and his contributions to the fields of theoretical archaeology, history of science, and to the study of a whole number of archaeological cultures from the Neolithic through the Middle Ages. A number of articles deal with Klejn as a field archaeologist, a philologist, a semiotician and an art historian. Particular attention is given to his pedagogical and public activity. A short memoir of Klejn’s adopted son Damir characterizes him as a person. The appendix contains a full list of Klejn’s publications and of main publications about him. The book is designed for a wide range of researchers in the humanities (archaeologists, historians, ethnographers) and experts in allied subjects, humanities degree students, and all readers interested in humanitarian knowledge in general.
