Regardless of the materials for falsework, the significant attention has been paid on the critical load of the falsework at different heights, and some actual situations on the construction sites and some details of accessories are usually ignored. In design, the falsework is always assumed as following. (1) The ground base had been properly tamped, and it is unnecessary to consider its settlement. (2) On the top U-shape regulator is used, and all the loads are directly and non-eccentrically conveyed into the vertical falsework. However, the investigation on the construction sites shows that in the actual construction of the falsework, the above two terms are difficult to be as ideal as that in design. The research results indicates that in the test of long-term settlement, the critical load of the combination system of the simple door-shape scaffold with wooden shores reduced the most, the second is the heavy support frame, and the pure simple door-shape scaffold system reduces the least. In the test of instantaneous settlement, the pure simple door-shape scaffold is similar to the heavy support frame in the reduction proportion of bearing capacity. On construction sites, ground arrangement should be certainly carried out first to avoid the settlement of the ground base. If the construction sites are close to rivers or agricultural irrigation ditches, the strength reduction factor needed to bear the settlement should be taken into consideration when the bearing capacity of the falsework is being calculated. In the tests of non-coaxial vertical loads, when the external force is loaded near the vertical steel tubes on both sides of the scaffold, the pure simple door-shape steel scaffold system is similar to the combination system of the simple door-shape scaffold with wooden shores in the reduction proportion of critical loads. In the test of non-coaxial vertical load with 1/2 and 1/3 configurations, the pure simple door-shape scaffold system is less than the combination system of the simple door-shape scaffold with wooden shores in the reduction proportion of critical loads. In construction sites, if the U-shape regulator is not used on the top scaffold, engineers should make the external loads near the vertical steel tubes on both sides of scaffolds to reduce the losses of the critical loads.

The welded joints Mechanical behavior is complex, according to weld groups geometry, strength, eccentrically loaded and other factors as design considerations. This research conducted to study weld groups of steel construction the eccentrically load. Furthermore, apply the six analytical methods compared. Fillet weld analysis, there are two main methods, one is elastic method, it is an easy task to use, based on the eccentric force can be moved the center of gravity of the weld group, is resolved into a force acting though the center of gravity of the weld group and a moment. The other is ultimate design, it is complex calculations to analysis, based on the IC location depends upon the geometry of the weld group and the location and direction of the loading. Theoretically, the force equilibrium equations should be satisfied at the correct IC. Method of analysis had elastic method, instantaneous center of rotation method (IC method), AISC design tables method, Iwankiw’s method, correction Iwankiw’s method and piecewise Iwankiw’s method respectively. The IC method is the most accurate. Calculation process of the Iwankiw’s method, correction Iwankiw’s method and piecewise Iwankiw’s method are more easily than IC method. However, the most commonly used elastic method is the calculation for the most simple and conservative, but the error is the largest. AISC manuals provide the C coefficients for six specific load inclination angles only, which were derived based on the IC method. For a non-tabulated value have the tendency to linearly interpolate the C coefficient for a nonspecific angle value. However, this is not totally justifiable. Compared with other methods, correction Iwankiw’s method and piecewise Iwankiw’s method are closer IC method Based on case, engineers can be selection methods used as a reference design.

When eccentricity occurs in the plane of the faying surface, the bolt must be designed to resist the combined effect of the direct share and the additional shear from the induced moment. Two analysis methods for bolted connections of eccentrically loaded are the elastic method and the ultimate strength method. The ultimate analysis, which specified in AISC design manuals, has been used for the analysis of eccentrically loaded connections which is bolted. In the current AISC design manual, tabulated solutions for eccentric loads inclined at specified angles from vertical are provided. For the cases which inclined angles are in the range of 75°≦θ≦360°, the current AISC manual does not furnish available tables to apply. This study to evaluate the strength of eccentrically loaded connections, which are not limited to the bolt patterns listed in current AISC manuals, are presented and compared. A numerical procedure for the analysis of eccentric loads that are inclined at any angles from vertical is furnished. This will also accomplish a better solution for practicing engineer in their routine design.
