This paper presents a new macroscopic multi-class dynamic network loading model called Dynamic Queuing Transmission Model (DQTM). The model utilizes ‘good’ properties of the Dynamic Queuing Model (DQM) and the Link Transmission Model (LTM) by offering a DQM consistent with the kinematic wave theory and allowing for the representation of multiple vehicle classes, queue spillbacks and shock waves. The model assumes that a link is split into a moving part plus a queuing part, and p that traffic dynamics are given by a triangular fundamental diagram. A case-study is investigated and the DQTM is compared with single-class LTM, single-class DQM and multi-class DQM. Under the model assumptions, single-class models indicate that the LTM and the DQTM give similar results and that the shock wave property is properly included in the DQTM, while the multi-class models show substantially different travel times for two vehicle classes. Moreover, the results show that the travel time will be underestimated without considering the shock wave property.

This paper examines the dynamics of return and dynamic volatility across the Malaysian and pan-Asian countries’ listed property companies market over the period January 1998 to August 2012. Listed property companies’ portfolios have the potential to offer high returns and low risks for long-term investments for individuals as well as institutional investors. As such, it is important to assess the return and volatility level of the Malaysian listed property companies market in the dynamic region of pan-Asian countries. This paper uses ARCH and GARCH models to empirically examine the dynamic volatility of listed property companies in 12 pan-Asian countries. The findings revealed that for the past 14-years Malaysia experienced moderately high volatility levels in term of investment in listed property companies. This study will contribute significantly to the empirical literature on the volatility dynamics of the Malaysian property market in international real estate portfolios. In particular, the findings from the study will be useful for international investors to better understand the potential portfolio implications of investing in the Malaysian real estate market.

The dynamic characteristic parameter of conveying property of pulverized coal is described with the conveying mass of pulverized coal in unit time. The conveying process of pulverized coal is studied by means of the pulverized coal’s conveying property testing equipment developed by ourselves. Results show that the conveying property of bituminous coal is better than anthracitic coal. If the improvement of conveying property of pulverized coal is considered purely, the size of pulverized coal can properly be reduced and the proportion of anthracitic coal can properly be decreased. The water content of pulverized coal can be controlled from 1% to 2%.

This study aimed to evaluate the relationships between different groups of explanatory variables (i.e., dynamic human activity variables, static variables of social disorganisation and crime generators, and combinations of both sets of variables) and property crime patterns across neighbourhood areas of London during the pandemic (from 2020 to 2021). Using the dynamic human activity variables sensed from mobile phone GPS big data sets, three types of ‘Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator’ (LASSO) regression models (i.e., static, dynamic, and static and dynamic) differentiated into explanatory variable groups were developed for seven types of property crime. Then, the geographically weighted regression (GWR) model was used to reveal the spatial associations between distinct explanatory variables and the specific type of crime. The findings demonstrated that human activity dynamics impose a substantially stronger influence on specific types of property crimes than other static variables. In terms of crime type, theft obtained particularly high relationships with dynamic human activity compared to other property crimes. Further analysis revealed important nuances in the spatial associations between property crimes and human activity across different contexts during the pandemic. The result provides support for crime risk prediction that considers the impact of dynamic human activity variables and their varying influences in distinct situations.

The dynamic properties of bridge girders depend on the design solutions, namely the replacement of the roadway slab by the orthotropic, deviation from standard solutions in the formation of longitudinal schemes, and the use of a new type of supports causing the dissipation of vibration energy and gyropendulum effect. The control for dynamic properties with regard to multifactorial defects, is characterized by ignoring the shock dampers of vehicles moving on the roadway. In this case, it is advisable to control the dynamic properties with regard to the energy dissipation of oscillatory processes within the internal and external strain boundaries, each of which can be functionally solved by the dependencies between the parameters of static and dynamic conditions of elasticity and plasticity. Long experience in diagnosing bridges under varying conditions of moving load allows identifying critical moments and limiting values of dynamic properties, at which the integrity of the span-vehicle system is violated. The difference in the operation of the system elements is complicated by the influence of a wide range of dynamic impacts, whose nature is opposite to the mechanical impact of vibra-tion dampers such as all-round moving supports. In this case, the criterion for the dynamic property control are anti-phase vibrations of the girder and supports and their stiffness ratio. Based on the results, the dynamic property control includes the identification of the critical speed of the moving load based on various forms of energy of the deformed state of the structure, including resonance; conditions of the energy dissipation of the vibration process of the span-vehicle system; new parameters and requirements for bridge structures with controlled dynamic properties adequate to those of numerical simulation of bridge girders of 40 to 60 or 80 m and longer; optimization and modernization of bridge vibration-based diagnostics.

In order to realize the dynamic mechanical property of a steel, the quasic-static and dynamic compressive and tensile mechanical tests of a steel are carried out. Based on the stress-strain curves of the steel, the constitutive relation is presented and it can be used to describe compressive and tensile mechanical property correspondently. The stress-strain curves at different strain rate and the obtained dynamic constitutive relationship show that the flow stress of the steel is increased with strain rate increased. The dynamic tension experimental results show that failure strain and stress of the steel are increased small with strain rate increased, and the fracture of tension sample is ductile fracture.

Abstract The relationship between intellectual property (IP) and innovation has been discussed extensively in extant literature. However, the dynamic essence of IP as an institutional context, particularly its setback and reversal, has received little attention. Through the lens of institutional dynamics theory, this study identifies four asymmetric categories of IP institutional dynamics: accelerating reforms, decaying reforms, decaying reversals, and accelerating reversals in a typical emerging market, China. Favorable institutional dynamics (i.e. accelerating reforms and decaying reversals) improve firms’ R&D efficiency, whereas unfavorable institutional dynamics (i.e. decaying reforms and accelerating reversals) reduce R&D efficiency. Moreover, R&D input decreases in an unfavorable institutional context.

Increasingly, cities, towns, and even rural communities are being slowly reshaped by a dynamic yet initially imperceptible phenomenon: the elaboration of augmented reality. Through applications that place virtual features over specific, real-world locations, layers of augmented reality are proliferating, adding new elements to an increasingly wide range of places. However, while many welcome the sudden appearance of arenas for battling digital creatures in their neighborhood or the chance to write virtual messages on their neighbor’s wall, the areas being augmented oftentimes are privately owned, thereby implicating property rights. Many intrusions, of course, are de minimis: an isolated, invisible Pikachu unexpectedly appearing over the GPS coordinates corresponding with one’s home can hardly be labeled a tragedy. Nevertheless, other infringements—such as the inundation of a church’s facade with offensive digital messages or the establishment of a virtual center of commerce in one’s backyard—seem to demand a solution. To date, however, commentators, courts, and litigants have almost universally assumed that property law does not and cannot provide recourse for such intangible invasions. Resisting such expectations, this Essay will argue that not only can property law play a role in augmented reality, but that its application in this context leads naturally to a regime that protects real property owners’ interest in the digital space linked to their property. In the process of so doing, this Essay will illuminate how recognizing real property owners’ right to control relevant parcels of site-specific augmented reality does not mark a novel expansion of property law but accords—and in many ways is dictated by—existing theory and precedent. The project is divided into four parts. Part I provides an overview of augmented reality and its myriad applications, highlighting in the process the concerns many of these applications raise for real property owners. Part II then dissects a number of different property law theories and illustrates how rights to augmented reality—specifically rights inhering in the owner of the corresponding parcel of land—fit comfortably into each one. Finally, Part III analyzes case law supporting the recognition of this new property interest, focusing in particular on the ancient ad coelum and much more recent cyberproperty lines of cases. Part IV offers a brief conclusion.

Purpose Clearly defined and enforceable property rights are commonly recognized as prerequisites to economic calculation and the market process. The purpose of this paper is to argue that when entrepreneurs add or subtract certain rights from the bundle of rights that constitute a property right they face a classic planner’s dilemma: the need to separate the technologically possible from the economically feasible. Traditionally, prices provide the signals needed to resolve the planners dilemma, but because prices refer to the entire bundle of rights that constitutes property, the entrepreneur is unable to immediately identify the combination of rights that isolates the attribute of a good consumers desire to purchase. Creating new bundles of property rights results in new prices, which generate new information essential to further developing economically viable arrangements of property rights; hence, property rights are dynamic. Design/methodology/approach The paper develops the theory of dynamic property rights, and then offers two case studies that illustrate different elements in the theory. One case study applies the theory to productive entrepreneurship, specifically in the sharing economy. The second case study applies the theory to protective entrepreneurship via a historical study of land title use in England and France. The author concludes with policy implications. Findings Recognizing that property rights are dynamic has several important implications. Restricting the bundling or de-bundling of property rights is a form of intervention in the market process equivalent to price fixing. Similarly, efforts to support property rights protecting institutions need to account for the fact that property rights bundles are not necessarily static but control over them needs to be stable and predictable. Finally, a more robust and accurate conceptualization of the marking process and what it means to “economize” on scarce resources does not just include the efficient allocation of property rights, but also the efficient allocation of the underlying rights bundles themselves. Social implications A dynamic theory of property rights allows the author to understand how property rights evolve and offer an account of different property rights regimes by highlight the living connection between productive and protective entrepreneurship. Originality/value This paper aims to integrate ideas from market process theory with entrepreneurship and institutional evolution. The paper extends the ideas in the UCLA property rights school to illuminate two case studies – one highly relevant to current policy makers, and the other relevant to development economists.

In order to obtain the dynamic shearing property of high N alloy steel, the plugging test was performed by using the improved Hopkinson pressure bar system. As dynamic shearing strengths, the dynamic shearing energies during plugging process of two type high N alloy steels were determined from the shearing constitutive relationship at different super high strain rates. According to the theory of dislocation dynamics in Seeger equation, a dynamic shearing damage constitutive relationship was established and the different parameters of this material were determined by using the curve fitting method. The measured results indicated that the dynamic shearing property of high N alloy steel could be obtained effectively by the improved Hopkinson pressure bar system, and the effects of strain rate could be simulated by dynamic shearing damage constitutive relationship.

This paper employs the simplified quadrupedal passive dynamic model to analyze the underlying property of the transverse gallop. First, the simplified sagittal quadrupedal planar model of the transverse gallop, the trot, and searching methods for achieving the periodic motion are introduced. Next, we explore the dynamic performance of the transverse galloping pattern on the simplified quadrupedal passive dynamic model at different forward speeds and different stiffnesses of legs in a range of initial angular velocities at which the periodic motion is achieved, and there exists a particular property that is defined as the pitch angular velocity dynamics (PAVD) property. If the forward speed and the stiffness of legs are adequate in the transverse galloping pattern, the PAVD emerges and the forces (e.g. peak ground reaction force and average vertical force) that the model undergoes during locomotion are sharply reduced. The Froude numbers of the minimum forward speed where PAVD holds at a fixed stiffness of legs for different samples are virtually the same. Moreover, a comparison between the trot and the transverse gallop illustrates that a trot is more favorable in the range of forward speeds where the PAVD property is not achieved, while a transverse gallop is better after the property emerges.

Purpose This paper aims to examine the dynamic of volatility of Malaysian listed property companies within pan-Asian public property markets based on different volatility perspective over the past 18 years, especially during the global financial crisis (GFC). Design/methodology/approach This study uses several statistical methods and formulas for analysing the dynamic of volatility of Malaysian listed property companies such as exponential generalised autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity (EGARCH) and Markov-switching (MS) EGARCH. The MS-EGARCH model provides new insights on the volatility dynamics of Malaysian listed property companies compared to conventional volatility modelling techniques, particularly EGARCH. Additionally, this paper will analyse the volatility movement based on three different sub-periods such as pre-GFC, GFC and post-GFC. Findings The findings reveal that the markets perform differently under different volatility conditions. Moreover, the application of MS-EGARCH provides a different view on the volatility dynamics compared to the conventional EGARCH model, as MS-EGARCH provides more comprehensive findings, especially during extreme market conditions. Originality/value This study contributes to the literature on the dynamics of Malaysian listed property companies within pan-Asian countries, as the approach for assessing the volatility performance based on different volatility conditions is less explored by previous researchers.

In this paper, the virtual prototype technology is used for the analyzing and optimizing high voltage breaker actuator’s cam machine. While the high voltage breaker closing, the moving contactor can have the perfect dynamic property by the optimal data. The contactor’s dynamic property curve should be in line with perfect dynamic property curve. The velocity curve can be gotten by analyzing virtual prototype. According to the theory of high voltage breaker’s dynamic property, a smooth voltage curve can be fitted. This fitting curve as the perfect voltage curve can be used for optimizing the cam machine. Supposing other work condition is invariable, the key points on cam profile which decide the dynamic property of the cam machine are analyzed. The coordinates of the key points are optimized and the cam profile is amended. Analyzing the dynamic property of the breaker’s virtual prototype with the amended cam machine, the contactor’s dynamic property curve is perfect. In this paper, the optimal coordinates of the key points are used on the cam profile, and the high voltage breaker actuator’s cam machine is optimal.

The study investigated the impact of intellectual property rights on foreign direct investment (FDI) in selected African countries (Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, Kenya, Burundi, Central African Republic, Rwanda, Senegal, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania). The purpose of the study is to develop property rights policies that encourages FDI in African countries. How FDI is influenced by the combination of trade openness and intellectual property rights was also examined using the same data set and econometric methods such as the dynamic generalized method of moments (GMM), fixed effects, and pooled ordinary least squares (OLS). Panel data ranging from 2005 to 2019 were used for the purposes of this study. A 1% increase in intellectual property rights led to a 22.73% increase in FDI inflows under the dynamic GMM and a 45.55% increase in FDI inflows under the random effects. These results show that intellectual property rights significantly enhanced FDI under the random effects and dynamic GMM. FDI was insignificantly enhanced by intellectual property rights under the pooled OLS and fixed effects methods. A 1% increase in complementarity between intellectual property rights and trade openness (complementarity term) pushed up FDI inflows by 17.78% under the dynamic GMM, whilst a 1% increase in the complementarity term increased FDI inflows by 16.72% under the fixed effects. In other words, dynamic GMM and fixed effects approaches show that the complementarity component significantly improved FDI inflows. The paper recommends implementing the best property rights strategies to improve FDI inflows into African countries. Double queue concept has gained its popularity in dynamic user equilibrium (DUE) modeling because it can properly model real traffic dynamics. While directly solving such double-queue-based DUE problems is extremely challenging, an approximation scheme called first-order approximation was proposed to simplify the link travel time estimation of DUE problems in a recent study without evaluating its properties and performance. This paper focuses on directly investigating the First-In-First-Out property and the performance of the first-order approximation in link travel time estimation by designing and modeling dynamic network loading (DNL) on single-line stretch networks. After model formulation, we analyze the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) property of the first-order approximation. Then a series of numerical experiments is conducted to demonstrate the FIFO property of the first-order approximation, and to compare its performance with those using the second-order approximation, a point queue model, and the cumulative inflow and exit flow curves. The numerical results show that the first-order approximation does not guarantee FIFO and also suggest that the second-order approximation is recommended especially when the link exit flow is increasing. The study provides guidance for further study on proposing new methods to better estimate link travel times.

<p>Since the implementation of the IP strategy in 2008, It has been agreed that intellectual property rights can promote regional economic development, but how to promote it is a black box. Based on the theory of system dynamics, three systems have been divided from the promoting effect of intellectual property on regional economy: intellectual property management system, technology innovation dynamic system and government policy support dynamic system. By analyzing the driving relationship among the three systems, It is found that intellectual property can promote regional economic growth through technological innovation. The government's policy support and the implementation of intellectual property strategy promote the innovation motivation of enterprises under the action of market mechanism. In the final analysis, enterprises are the main force of economic growth. They can improve the level of technological innovation through industry-university-research cooperation and other ways to obtain innovation benefits, so as to promote regional economic growth.</p>

Moisture handling property of clothes using fiber is an important factor determininig clothes comfort property. In this paper, the moisture comfort property of fine denier polypropylene fiber fabric in different environmental temperature conditions was studied. By Textile-Microclimate Measuring Instrument, five kinds of test fabrics' dynamic experiments were performed in four different environmental temperature conditions. And fabrics' dynamic comprehensive index was obtained to characterize fabrics' dynamic moisture comfort property. Then, grey system theory was introduced to establish models that could describe the relationship between the static parameters and the dynamic comprehensive index. Results show that the dynamic moisture comfort property of fine denier polypropylene fiber fabric is the best. And fabrics with lower thickness, lower weight, and higher vertical wicking height will be more moisture-comfortable.

Regulation of the dynamic properties of bridge spans is a priority field of this research, which solves the problem of increasing the obsolescence and physical periods of bridge structures manifested both at the design stage of the load redistribution in the load bearing and during long-term operation.Over the past 40 years, technical bridge diagnostics has shown that the durability and safe long-term operation can be ensured by the improved calculations, operation and stress and strain control under the excess and over-calculated live loads. The aim of this work is to control the dynamic deformation and amplitude-frequency characteristics of bridge spans under harmonic random (non-stationary) oscillations of the span-vehicle system due to changes in the energy and stress state of the structure. The dynamic behavior of the span-vehicle system is based on the control for the amplitude-frequency characteristics of random oscillations by averaged values, the required spectral density being provided. The use of dynamic dampers for the system element control and the rigidity of junctions provide antiphase oscillations of the bridge span elements such as beams and decks, that leads to the unaccounted inertial forces.Another important element of the joint work imbalance of the bridge span elements during the dynamic load, are various defects, both in the deck design and load-bearing elements. It is assumed that the deck is a transfer layer (element) of vibrations induced by a vehicle in the beams. It is shown that the control for the dynamic properties is required in the case of a coincidence between the vehicle and beam stiffness and mass at the center of the system rigidity. The attention is paid to the conditions and dependencies between the dynamic load parameters and the stress-strain state of the bridge beams at the elastic and elastoplastic stages, with respect to the additional inertia of the system. This approach is the pilot in the Russian and foreign bridge construction in terms of experimental studies and testing of bridges for continuous random traffic. The dynamic testing of bridge spans for random traffic flow contributes to the creation of vibration diagnostic express laboratories necessary for the operation and maintenance of bridges.

An improved dynamic constitutive model is presented, aiming to describe the key mechanical properties and predict the bearing strength of concrete structure under static and dynamic load. This model is based on the concept of equivalent uniaxial strains and strain rate. In this paper, an equivalent uniaxial stressstrain curves are obtained by the WillamWarnke curve and take the same form as in Saenz models. Then, the bending strength of a concrete beam under different static and dynamic load was discussed.

In this paper, we propose a growing spatial network (GSN) model and investigate its topology properties and dynamical behaviors. The model is generated by adding one node i with m links into a square lattice at each time step and the new node i is connected to the existing nodes with probabilities proportional to: [Formula: see text], where kj is the degree of node j, α is the tunable parameter and dij is the Euclidean distance between i and j. It is found that both the degree heterogeneity and the clustering coefficient monotonously increase with the increment of α, while the average shortest path length monotonously decreases. Moreover, the evolutionary game dynamics and network traffic dynamics are investigated. Simulation results show that the value of α can also greatly influence the dynamic behaviors.

A mechanical actuator with a visco-elastic property is designed as an artificial muscle, and its dynamic properties are examined and compared with those of natural muscle. The properties are the length-tension relation, the tension response to sudden length change, and the load-velocity relation. The results show qualitatively good agreement with the dynamic properties of frog skeletal muscle, although the performance of the actuator must be improved. It is possible to give an actuator a visco-elasticitic property by properly combining some mechanical elements into a power source. This work is performed as the first step of the research aiming at a robotic system in which a compliant control is completed by controlling the visco-elasticity of the actuator itself.

Gasbag packaging is a novel cushioning packaging solution with advantages of low price and reusable practicality. Dynamic cushioning performance is one of the important properties to evaluate the gasbag packaging as buffer packaging material. In this work, the internal pressure change of the gasbags was studied theoretically in the dynamic process. Also, three kinds of cushioning packaging including honeycomb paperboard, EPS buffer material and gasbag packaging were experimentally investigated. By comparing the dynamic cushioning curves, the dynamic cushioning performance of three packaging solutions were analyzed. Hence, a new dynamic cushioning design method of gasbag packaging was proposed according to the above theoretical and experimental results.

Fine denier fiber fabric has unique wicking effect and good hydrophobic property, which can keep dry and moisture comfortable when people are in heavy and continued sweat. This paper studied the dynamic moisture comfort property of fine denier fiber fabric compared with conventional fiber fabrics. Firstly, a series of experiments was performed on studying the dynamic moisture transferring procedure and evaluating moisture comfort property of fine denier fiber fabrics in two different environmental conditions, which were the most comfortable condition and an extremely uncomfortable condition for humans. Then, by measuring the real time changes of relative humidity in inner and outer surfaces of test fabrics, fabrics’ dynamic comprehensive index was obtained to characterize fabrics’ dynamic moisture comfort property. Finally, grey system theory was introduced to establish prediction models that could describe the relationship between fabric’s static parameters and dynamic comprehensive index. Results show that fine denier fiber fabric has better moisture comfort property than conventional fiber fabrics.

Similar to the asphalt mixture, the polyurethane (PU) mixture’s performance and characteristics are dependent on many variables. In this study, six variables, including aggregate gradation (limestone and basalt), aggregate type, PU type, PU content, and curing condition, and several parameter analyzing methods were chosen to determine the effect of variables on the dynamic property, rheological property, and rutting resistance of the PU mixture. The limestone aggregate gradation exhibited a substantial effect on the dynamic property, rheological property, and rutting resistance of the PU mixture; the basalt aggregate gradation exhibited significant influence on the dynamic property and rutting resistance, but a moderate effect on the rheological property. The aggregate type could influence the rheological property and rutting resistance. The slow curing speed of the PU binder decreased the dynamic modulus and rutting resistance but did not influence the phase angle. The rise in PU binder content would only improve the PU mixture’s resistance to rutting. The curing condition and color additive had no impact on the PU mixture’s properties. The generalized logistic sigmoidal (GLS) and Christensen Anderson and Marasteanu model (CAM) models could precisely predict the dynamic modulus and phase angle respectively disregarding the PU mixture features. PUM-10/B exhibited the greatest rutting resistance. The findings will aid in comprehending the properties and influencing factors of the PU mixture as well as in designing the desired mixture.

Slicing is used for program analysis. It the process of extracting the statements of a program that are relevant to a given computation. Static slicing generates slices for all possible execution of a program helping in program understanding, verification, maintenance and testing. Dynamic slices are smaller in size as they extract slices for a given execution of a program and helps in interactive applications like debugging and testing. With the wide spread use of object oriented software, there are many papers on Dynamic Slicing of object oriented programs but few papers only address in details about the most basic features of Object Oriented Programming that is class definition, Object creation, accessing object through reference, invoking methods of a class , polymorphism, inheritance etc. From last three decades many algorithms have been designed to slice a program with respect to the syntax of the program. The real world object oriented programs consists of thousands of lines of code. Traditional Syntax based slices for program variables used at many places in a program are generally large even for dynamic slices. Recently, some work has been done to get slices based on abstract/concrete properties of program variables. For smooth debugging and testing, the slice will be small if any particular property is being considered (semantics based). Most of the semantics based slicing algorithms have focused on finding static slices on the abstract properties by using SSA as intermediate representation and extract slices by storing an execution trace of a program. To the best of our knowledge generating dynamic slices based on abstract/Concrete properties of program variables is scarcely reported in literature. In this paper we present an algorithm for generating dynamic abstract slices of object oriented programs addressing all key object oriented features.

Fabric deformation performance is an index that characterizes the dynamic performance of the fabric. However there is no separate study about fabric deformation performance. According to morphological wave data measured by fabric deformation testing device made by ourselves, we have determined to cluster analysis fabric deformation performance with the following six indicators, that is, the wavelength of the first half-wave, amplitude, half-wave area, shape coefficients, amplitude attenuation coefficient, and the number of half-wave, and also have done comparative analysis of deformation characteristics of four types of fabric. The results showed that the six indicators can measure the different kinds of fabric’s deformation characters much better, and showed that the weight of per square meter of fabrics and bending rigidity have influenced significantly. The research results have a realistic meaning for fabric processing technology and the rational use
