Using a second quantized formulation, an approximate diatomics in molecules (DIM) theory is presented in which all three- and four-centered electronic integrals are neglected. To ameliorate the effects of this approximation, the DIM one electron operator is constructed so that the true ab initio first-order density matrix and total energy are reproduced at the Hartree–Fock level. The resulting model was extensively tested for a variety of basis sets for its capability of capturing both the dynamic and nondynamic components of the electron correlation energy as well as the energies of excited electronic states. A modified method in which the DIM one-electron operator is formed from the initial extended Hückel guess of the Hartree–Fock orbitals was also found to produce excellent results.Key words: DIM, electron correlation energy, excited states, semiempirical.

Traditional methods encountered two serious problems in tracking dim targets. One is the nonlinearity of the system model, and other is the low SNR of measurement signals. The two problems are hardly solved simultaneously in practical engineering applications. The particle filter is a recursive numerical technique which uses random sampling to approximate the optimal evaluation to target tracking problems. In this paper, we developed a method for tracking dim target using particle filter. Simulation results showed that the tracking performance of this method has greatly improved compared with classical extended Kalman filter and unscented Kalman filter.

AbstractResearch methods play an extremely important role in studies. Statistical methods are fundamental and vital for quantitative research. The authors of this paper investigated the research papers that used statistical methods including parametric inferential statistical methods, nonparametric inferential statistical methods, predictive statistical correlation methods, and predictive statistical regression methods in library and information science and examined the connections and interactions between statistical methods and their application areas including information creation, information selection and control, information organization, information retrieval, information dissemination, and information use. Both an inferential statistical method and graphic clustering visualization method were employed to explore the relationships between statistical methods and application areas and reveal the hidden interaction patterns. As a result, 1821 research papers employing statistical methods were identified among the papers published in six major library and information science journals from 1999 to 2017. The findings showed that application areas affected the types of statistical methods utilized. Studies in information organization and information retrieval tended to employ parametric and nonparametric inferential methods, while correlation and regression methods were applied more in studies in information use, information dissemination, information creation, and information selection and control field. These findings help researchers better understand the statistical method orientation of library and information science studies and assist educators in the field to develop applicable quantitative research methodology courses.

Ship detection in large-scale synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images has achieved breakthroughs as a result of the improvement of SAR imaging technology. However, there still exist some issues due to the scattering interference, sparsity of ships, and dim and small ships. To address these issues, an anchor-free method is proposed for dim and small ship detection in large-scale SAR images. First, fully convolutional one-stage object detection (FCOS) as the baseline is applied to detecting ships pixel by pixel, which can eliminate the effect of anchors and avoid the missing detection of small ships. Then, considering the particularity of SAR ships, the sample definition is redesigned based on the statistical characteristics of ships. Next, the feature extraction is redesigned to improve the feature representation for dim and small ships. Finally, the classification and regression are redesigned by introducing an improved focal loss and regression refinement with complete intersection over union (CIoU) loss. Experimental simulation results show that the proposed R-FCOS method can detect dim and small ships in large-scale SAR images with higher accuracy compared with other methods.

<p>The aims of this research are to find out: (1) whether there is a significant difference in reading skill between the students taught by using KWL method and those taught by using DIM; and (2) whether KWL method is more effective than DIM to teach reading. This experimental study used 22 students for the experimental group and 22 students for the control group. The data were collected by using reading test and then analyzed by using t-test formula. The computation of the data shows that the t-observation (t<sub>o</sub>) is 1.988, which is higher than the t-table <sub>(42,</sub> <sub>0.05)</sub>: 1.960. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in reading skill between the students taught by using KWL method and those taught by using DIM. The mean of the group of students taught by using KWL method is 75.14, while the mean of the group of students taught by using DIM is 69.13. Therefore, it can be concluded that KWL method is more effective to teach reading than DIM for junior high school students.</p>

In order to solve the problem of small and dim ship target detection under complex sea-sky background, we propose a target detection algorithm based on sea-sky line detection. Firstly, the paper locates the sea-sky-line based on fully convolutional networks, through which target potential area can be determined and disturbance can be excluded. Then the method based on the mean of four detection gradient is adopted to detect the small and dim ship target. The simulation results show that the method of sea-sky-line detection based on fully convolutional networks can overcome the disadvantages of the traditional methods and is suitable for complex background. The detection method proposed can filter the white noise point on the sea surface and thus can reduce false alarm, through which the detection of small and dim ship can be completed well.

With the development of infrared technology, infrared dim and small target detection plays a vital role in precision guidance applications. To address the problems of insufficient dataset coverage and huge actual shooting costs in infrared dim and small target detection methods, this paper proposes a method for generating infrared dim and small target sequence datasets based on generative adversarial networks (GANs). Specifically, first, the improved deep convolutional generative adversarial network (DCGAN) model is used to generate clear images of the infrared sky background. Then, target–background sequence images are constructed using multi-scale feature extraction and improved conditional generative adversarial networks. This method fully considers the infrared characteristics of the target and the background, which can achieve effective expansion of the image data and provide a test set for the infrared small target detection and recognition algorithm. In addition, the classifier’s performance can be improved by expanding the training set, which enhances the accuracy and effect of infrared dim and small target detection based on deep learning. After experimental evaluation, the dataset generated by this method is similar to the real infrared dataset, and the model detection accuracy can be improved after training with the latest deep learning model.

ABSTRACT The profile color class method developed by Williams and Drexler in 1981 for the prediction of peanut harvest has proven to be a relative description of peanut maturity and is currently used by growers. However, the method requires the subjective visual classification of pods based on the development of color in the mesocarp layer of the hull which naturally introduces variability and possible error in maturity prediction based solely on observer bias. A Digital Image Model (DIM) was developed to eliminate subjectivity in pod color classification. The DIM is a method in which a scanned image of pod mesocarp colors is analyzed using a color definition algorithm. The final output of the DIM is a ratio of pixel color classes. To develop the DIM, replicated plots were established in Florida in 2010 and 2011 and sequentially harvested starting at 120 days after planting (DAP) and then progressing at wk intervals through 155 DAP. At harvest, yield and grade were evaluated for each plot and pod samples were collected for color classification by a single observer using the current profile board method. These same pod samples were then imaged and analyzed with the DIM method. The percentage of black and brown pods (mature pods) classified by the profile board and the DIM method were evaluated to determine the overall performance of the DIM in comparison to the profile board. The DIM method was successful in predicting the percentage of black and brown pods similarly to the profile board in both years with R2 0.63 to 0.82 with images acquired from the saddle region of the pod. There was more variability in matching the DIM prediction to the profile board when imaging pods from random regions, with R2 0.19 to 0.82. The goal of this research was to develop an imaging system that could be accessed by growers, consultants, and extension agents for objective analysis and prediction of peanut maturity.

Although many filter algorithms have been presented over past decades, these algorithms are usually designed for the Lidar point clouds and can’t separate the ground points from the DIM (dense image matching, DIM) point clouds derived from the oblique aerial images owing to the high density and variation of the DIM point clouds completely. To solve this problem, a new automatic filter algorithm is developed on the basis of adaptive TIN models. At first, the differences between Lidar and DIM point clouds which influence the filtering results are analysed in this paper. To avoid the influences of the plants which can’t be penetrated by the DIM point clouds in the searching seed pointes process, the algorithm makes use of the facades of buildings to get ground points located on the roads as seed points and construct the initial TIN. Then a new densification strategy is applied to deal with the problem that the densification thresholds do not change as described in other methods in each iterative process. Finally, we use the DIM point clouds located in Potsdam produced by Photo-Scan to evaluate the method proposed in this paper. The experiment results show that the method proposed in this paper can not only separate the ground points from the DIM point clouds completely but also obtain the better filter results compared with TerraSolid. 1.

1560 Background: Consumption of cruciferous vegetables is associated with decreased risk of prostate cancer (PCa). 3,3’-diindolylmethane (DIM), an in vivo active compound formed after consumption of cruciferous vegetables, down-regulates the AR, and causes its nuclear exclusion which results in in vitro growth arrest and apoptosis of PCa cells. We conducted a biomarker trial evaluating BR-DIM in pre-prostatectomy patients with the primary objective of measuring DIM levels in prostate tissue and in plasma. Methods: Patients with organ-confined PCa who were candidates for surgery were treated with BR-DIM at a dose of 225 mg orally twice daily for a minimum of 14 days. Patients did not receive any androgen deprivation therapy. Patients received their last dose of BR-DIM the day before surgery. Blood samples for DIM levels were collected pre-treatment and just prior to surgery. DIM concentration was measured in the plasma and in prostate tissue specimens using a validated high-performance liquid chromatographic method with tandem mass spectrometric detection. AR was evaluated by immunohistochemistry (IHC). Results: 36 patients were treated at 2 institutions. The 26 evaluable patients had median age of 60 years (range 41 - 76), 14 were Caucasian, and 10 were African American. Reasons for inevaluability included change in surgery date (n=4), inadequate BR-DIM treatment (2), withdrawal from study (2), canceled surgery (1), and other (1). Toxicity was minimal; only two patients with grade 3 headache. Post dosing, DIM was found at a mean trough level of 10.2 ng/ml (range, 0.5 to 24.7) and 12.3 ng/gm of tissue (range, 0.0 to 26.8) in plasma and in prostate tissue, respectively. PSA levels had a slightly downward trend after BR-DIM treatment. In 18 of 20 evaluable PCa specimens, IHC showed nuclear exclusion of AR. Conclusions: BR-DIM was well tolerated, and DIM was detected in both plasma and prostate tissues at ~12 h post dosing. Nuclear exclusion of AR was found in 90% of PCa specimens post BR-DIM dosing, suggesting in vivo inactivation of AR activity. PSA levels were slightly reduced overall. Accrual is ongoing and nearly complete. Additional studies with BR-DIM in PCa are warranted.

The stepped-frequency radar can measure the velocity between radar and target as while as obtain high range resolution. The Doppler shift of moving target may make its high resolution range profile move away from high resolution imaging region of stationary target. Consequently stepped-frequency radar possesses the ability of detecting dim target in clutter, which is suitable for attacking low-altitude dim target with low velocity. In this paper, the distribution of clutter is analyzed in frequency domain firstly. Then the design method of signal parameters is put forward based on the analysis in frequency domain. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.

The article presents the results of the effectiveness of methods for diagnosing the uterus in cows on different days after calving. In the postpartum period in cows under conditions of weakened immunity and dystocia, inflammatory processes in the uterus can develop, most commonly manifesting in clinical and subclinical forms of endometritis. Our research shows that the rectal diagnostic method is impact in the first 30 day in milk (DIM), particularly when clinical signs are evident. In 60 DIM, the vaginal method demonstrated about 58.8% effectiveness, by the using on "Metrasta-tum" device determine the degree of uterine involution and assess the obtained dis-charges. After 61 DIM the probability of detecting endometritis by laboratory methods increased from 6.3 to 25%. In this study, laboratory methods such as the Nagornyi-Kalinovsky test (NKT) and the Whiteside method (WM) were employed. Subclinical forms of inflammatory processes in the uterus in the absence of obvious visible signs imply the use of laboratory methods based on identifying inflammatory markers. The definition of effective and useful methods is an urgent task and requires additional re-search.

This study evaluated the effect of storage on renneting properties of goat milk investigated using the Formagraph method. Milk samples from 169 goats in three farms (F1, F2 and F3) were analysed during an entire lactation (45, 75, 105, 135 and 165 days in milking DIM), to obtain renneting parameters, both from fresh milk and after storage with Bronopol and freezing at −20°C and −80°C. As regards fresh milk, mean values of clotting time were between 12·51 (45 DIM) and 13·29 min (105 DIM and F2), the curd firming time between 1·77 (45 DIM) and 2·15 min (F1) and curd firmness between 42·09 (165 DIM) and 49·55 mm (45 DIM). No statistical difference was recorded after storage. After regression analysis, all prediction models showed significance value at P<0·001 with the highest R2 value for clotting time, 0·710 (fresh vs. frozen milk at −20°C), and the lowest for clot firmness, 0·281 (fresh vs. frozen milk at −80°C). Results demonstrated that assessment of goat milk coagulation properties using the Formagraph method is also achievable after freezing or Bronopol addition.

Abstract Healthcare communication on Twitter is challenging because the space for a tweet is limited, but the topic is too sophisticated to be concise. Comparing medical-terminology hashtags versus lay-language hashtags, this paper explores the characteristics of healthcare hashtags using an entropy matrix which derived from information theory. In this paper, the entropy matrix comprises of six different components used for constructing a tweet and serves as a framework for the structural analysis with the granularity of tweet composition. These granular components include image(s), text with semantic meanings, hashtag(s), @ username(s), hyperlink, and unused space. The entropy matrix proposed in this paper contributes to a new approach to visualizing the complexity level of hashtag collections. In addition, the calculated entropy could be an indicator of the diversity of a user’s choice across those tweet components. Furthermore, the visualizations (radar graph and scatterplot) illustrate statistical structures and the dynamics of the hashtag collections measured by entropy. The results from this study demonstrate a manifest relationship between tweet composition and the number of being retweeted.

Camera arrays can enhance the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) between dim targets and backgrounds through multi-view synthesis. This is crucial for the detection of dim targets. To this end, we design and develop an infrared camera array system with a large baseline. The multi-view synthesis of camera arrays relies heavily on the calibration accuracy of relative poses in the sub-cameras. However, the sub-cameras within a camera array lack strict geometric constraints. Therefore, most current calibration methods still consider the camera array as multiple pinhole cameras for calibration. Moreover, when detecting distant targets, the camera array usually needs to adjust the focal length to maintain a larger depth of field (DoF), so that the distant targets are located on the camera’s focal plane. This means that the calibration scene should be selected within this DoF range to obtain clear images. Nevertheless, the small parallax between the distant sub-aperture views limits the calibration. To address these issues, we propose a calibration model for camera arrays in distant scenes. In this model, we first extend the parallax by employing dual-array frames (i.e., recording a scene at two spatial locations). Secondly, we investigate the linear constraints between the dual-array frames, to maintain the minimum degrees of freedom of the model. We develop a real-world light field dataset called NUDT-Dual-Array using an infrared camera array to evaluate our method. Experimental results on our self-developed datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. Using the calibrated model, we improve the SNR of distant dim targets, which ultimately enhances the detection and perception of dim targets.

Structured clouds and ground building background suppression are difficult problems for dim and small target detection technique. In this paper, the dim and small target background suppression method based on combined curvelet transform with modified non-local means filter was presented to solve the problem. And local gradient statistics is introduced to boost ability of method which suppresses false by background structure. The innovation was that the curvelet transform was adopted to decompose the input infrared image, which extracts multi-scale and directional detail features of the image. Moreover non-local means filter improved by local gradient characteristic was introduced to suppress background details and enhance target information for suppression background. Compared with two-dimensional least mean square (TDLMS) and modified partial differential equation (MPDE) methods, through visual quality and value index, several groups of experimental results demonstrate that the presented method can suppress complicated background in dim and small target image effectively.

AbstractAn information search trail recommendation method based on the Markov chain model and case-based reasoning is proposed. A laboratory user experiment was designed to evaluate the proposed method. The experimental results demonstrated that novice searchers have a positive attitude toward the search trail recommendation and a willingness to use the recommendation. Importantly, this study found that the search trail recommendation could effectively improve novice searchers’ search performance. This finding is mainly reflected in the diversity of information sources and the integrity of the information content of the search results. The proposed search trail recommendation method extends the application scope of information recommendations and provides insights to improve the organization and management of online information resources.

Background: Cinnarizine is used to treat nausea and vomiting accompanied by motion sickness. Dimenhydrinate is used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting and dizziness. The coformulation of the two drugs showed the lowest rate of adverse effects compared to single dimenhydrinate. Objective: A fully validated ultra-performance liquid chromatographic method has been conducted for the simultaneous estimation of cinnarizine (CIN) and dimenhydrinate (DIM). Materials and Methods: The UPLC method used Acquity Column as stationary phase and mobile phase methanol: buffer (pH = 3.5 ± 0.05) and acetonitrile in the ratio of 50: 25: 25 at a flow rate of 0.2 mL/min. Detection was performed by DAD at 260 nm. Results and Discussion: Retention time was 0.71 and 1.12 min for DIM and CIN, respectively. The linearity was found to be 1-40 μg/mL and 2-80 μg/mL for CIN and DIM; respectively. Conclusion: The method was appropriately used for the quantitation of both drugs in pure form, synthetic mixtures and tablet preparation.

In the paper, the automatic detection and tracking method of judging the confidence coefficient of the trajectory obtained by the MHT which is based on the characteristics of dim targets, has been realized in the IRST system. The performance of this method is greatly improved.

The non-bonded interactions between a porphyrin molecule and a C 60 molecule, in the gas-phase, has been systematically investigated using various theoretical models. These are: (1) wavefunction-based methods, Hartree-Fock SCF (HF), second-order Møller-Plesset (MP2) theory, and the localized MP2 (LMP2) theory using the diatomics in molecules (DIM-LMP2) and triatomics in molecules (TRIM-LMP2) methods; (2) density functional theory (DFT), using non-local (BLYP, PW91), hybrid (B3LYP), and local (SVWN) functionals. Of the HF and DFT methods examined, corrected for BSSE using the counterpoise (CP) method, only the SVWN method predicts a close separation (2.5 Å) between the porphyrin and the C 60 molecules, in line with close contacts observed in crystal structures of cocrystallates of porphyrins and fullerenes (2.7-3.0 Å). The MP2 and LMP2 methods also predict a close contact between the two molecules although the MP2 and TRIM-LMP2 methods overestimate the interaction giving a separation < 2.5 Å while the DIM-LMP2 method gives a satisfactory separation of 2.9 Å. The SVWN and DIM-LMP2 methods also predict a reasonable complexation energy of ca. −13 kcal/mol (SVWN and DIM-LMP2 CP-uncorrected) and −7.9 kcal/mol (SVWN CP-corrected), whereas the MP2 and TRIM-LMP2 methods probably strongly overestimate the complexation energy. The remaining methods underestimate the complexation energy. The CP-uncorrected DIM-LMP2/6-31G(d) method gave the best estimate of the porphyrin- C 60 separation (2.9 Å) with a complexation energy of −13.3 kcal/mol; however, the more cost-effective SVWN functional gives satisfactory values for these quantities with the SVWN/6-311+G(d) level providing the best estimate for the complexation energy (−16.5 kcal/mol). The porphyrin- C 60 interaction was investigated in the giant triad 1 in which a zinc porphyrin, a dimethoxynaphthalene and a C 60 fullerene are separated by two norbornylogous bridge sections of six and five bond lengths, respectively. All methods predict the existence of a compact form of the molecule in which the porphyrin and C 60 moieties are only 2.9-4.3 Å apart (contact distance). This finding is consistent with certain photophysical properties of 1.

A baseline-free damage identification method is proposed to identify damages in metallic sandwich panels with truss core in the article. The method is based on flexibility matrix and gapped smoothing method, with damage index defined DIm. The weight coefficient m is introduced to consider the effect of damages on both low-order modes and high-order modes. Numerical simulations and experiments are conducted to evaluate the present method. Besides, damage index [Formula: see text] is also defined by processing DIm with Teager energy operator, and comparisons between DIm and [Formula: see text] are also carried out. Results show that the proposed method is effective in detecting single damage and multiple damages of the same or different extent. The weight coefficient m plays a very important role in identification of multiple damages of different styles. When comparing with [Formula: see text], it is found that the present index DIm is better at suppressing the singularity caused by contact nodes and detecting of multiple damages which contain small or slight damages.

Introduction. In many countries, there is an additional group of pollutants - deicing materials (DIM) in winter. Salt-containing DIM is one of the factors for increasing the content of PM2.5 and PM10 in the air. The purpose was to determine the possibility of using desiccators to study the aerosol effect of liquid deicing material, identify the chemical composition in the air at spreading liquid DIM in various ways, and establish the calculated doses for conducting a toxicological experiment to study the DIM aerosol effect on the organism of warm-blooded animals. Materials and methods. A model experiment was conducted in airtight containers (desiccators) using a liquid DIM that includes NaCl and CaCl2. All chemical compounds were captured in air pumping from the desiccator into a bubbler tank with bidistilled water and then analyzed using ion chromatography. Results. When comparing the obtained results of main DIM components contained in the air inside desiccators with the maximum permissible concentrations, the excess of Cl- was detected both for the highest single concentration of 0.1 mg/m3 and for the average daily concentration of 0.03 mg/m3. When applying DIM at a dose exceeding ten times the recommended norms for liquid the DIM, an excess level of the maximum permissible concentration for chlorine (but not for sodium and calcium) is observed. Conclusion. The method of DIM studying in desiccators is indicative in terms of the choice of concentrations and studying mechanisms of reagent intake for subsequent DIM research conduction using laboratory animals.

Real-time small infrared (IR) target detection is critical to the performance of the situational awareness system in high-altitude aircraft. However, current IR target detection systems are generally hardware-unfriendly and have difficulty in achieving a robust performance in datasets with clouds occupying a large proportion of the image background. In this paper, we present new results by using an efficient method that extracts the candidate targets in the pre-processing stage and fuses the local scale, blob-based contrast map and gradient map in the detection stage. We also developed mid-wave infrared (MWIR) and long-wave infrared (LWIR) cameras for data collection experiments and algorithm evaluations. Experimental results using both publicly available datasets and image sequences acquired by our cameras clearly demonstrated that the proposed method achieves high detection accuracy with the mean AUC being at least 22.3% higher than comparable methods, and the computational cost beating the other methods by a large margin.

3,3’-Diindolylmethane (DIM) is a bioactive compound found in Cruciferous vegetables that possesses health benefits such as antioxidant, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory effects. However, hydrophobicity and photolabile limit its pharmaceutical applications. This study aims to prepare and characterize DIM-encapsulated whey protein isolate (WPI) nanoparticles mixed at different ratios of WPI and DIM using the combined heating–ultrasound method. Results showed that all the samples showed adequate physicochemical characteristics: The mean particle size of the nanoparticles could be controlled down to 96–157 nm depending on the DIM to WPI ratio used in the preparation with a low polydispersity index (<0.5), higher negative values of zeta potential (>−40 mV) as well as with greater encapsulation efficiency (>82%). Flow behavior indices showed the shear-thinning Non-Newtonian or pseudoplastic (n < 1) behavior of the nanoparticles. The thermal properties were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), which showed that DIM was successfully entrapped in WPI nanoparticles. The secondary structure of WPI was changed after DIM incorporation; electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonding were major facilitating forces for nanoparticles formation, confirmed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) micrographs showed that all the samples had a smooth surface and spherical structure. The wall material (WPI) and encapsulation method provide effective protection to DIM against UV light and a broad range of physiologically relevant pH’s (2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5, and 7). In conclusion, whey protein isolate (WPI)-based nanoparticles are a promising approach to encapsulate DIM and overcome its physicochemical limitations with improved stability.

With the gradual increase in spacecraft in orbit, space debris monitoring has become the key to the sustainable development of space missions. A staring debris detection method is proposed for high-density stars with long tails. In order to solve the problem that the gray level of a long trailing image is not stable and continuous, rectangular fitting is used to complete the aggregation of the trailing image and reduce the influence of noise on the trailing information. The occluded state of the target was analyzed, the feature calculation method was improved, the semi-occluded scene was statistically classified, the fully connected network (FCN) based finite point feature was accurately classified, and the semi-occluded image was extracted. Based on the extracted semi-occluded image, the inter-frame association can improve the success probability of target association and realize the effective detection and tracking of debris. The detection accuracy was tested for the changing inter-frame interval and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and the relationship between the index parameters and key parameters was given. Compared with previous literature, this design can detect and track the occluded target with a detection rate of more than 90% and a false alarm rate of less than 10%.

This study aims to determine consumer preferences and what attributes are considered by consumers in purchasing Uma Yum Cha dim sum in Surakarta City. Sampling using purposive sampling method with 100 respondents. The analysis methods used are chi-square analysis and fishbein multiattribute analysis. The results showed that the categories of each attribute of Uma Yum Cha dim sum that became consumer preferences included dim sum with a slightly spicy savory taste, a quantity of 4 pcs, a soft texture, medium dim sum size, and promotion through internet media and the most considered attribute by consumers in purchasing Uma Yum Cha dim sum consecutively are taste, texture, quantity, size, and promotion</p>

AbstractIn the field of scientometrics, the principal purpose for author co-citation analysis (ACA) is to map knowledge domains by quantifying the relationship between co-cited author pairs. However, traditional ACA has been criticized since its input is insufficiently informative by simply counting authors’ co-citation frequencies. To address this issue, this paper introduces a new method that reconstructs the raw co-citation matrices by regarding document unit counts and keywords of references, named as Document- and Keyword-Based Author Co-Citation Analysis (DKACA). Based on the traditional ACA, DKACA counted co-citation pairs by document units instead of authors from the global network perspective. Moreover, by incorporating the information of keywords from cited papers, DKACA captured their semantic similarity between co-cited papers. In the method validation part, we implemented network visualization and MDS measurement to evaluate the effectiveness of DKACA. Results suggest that the proposed DKACA method not only reveals more insights that are previously unknown but also improves the performance and accuracy of knowledge domain mapping, representing a new basis for further studies.

It is revealed that a real eigenvalue splits into a pair of conjugated complex eigenvalues when an OEB occurs, which means the number of the system eigenvalues will increase by one and a new oscillation mode will emerge. Next, a method to determine OEB bifurcation in the time-delayed LTI system with single lag is developed based on Lambert W function. A one-dimensional (1-dim) time-delayed system is firstly employed to explain the mechanism of OEB bifurcation. Then, methods to determine the OEB bifurcation in 1-dim, 2-dim, and high-dimension time-delayed LTI systems are derived. Finally, simulation results validate the correctness and effectiveness of the presented method. Since OEB bifurcation occurs with a new oscillation mode emerging, work of this paper is useful to explore the complex phenomena and the stability of time-delayed dynamic systems.
