This article studies modern software packages used in drawing construction master plans and their elements. A special emphasis is placed on increasing the level of design works, improving their quality, and expanding the community of technically unskilled users. The article describes approaches to solving the task of visualization of organizational and technological solutions and gives a comparative analysis thereof. It presents a visualization diagram of an organizational and technological solution for the construction of a building. It also highlights the most promising direction in graphic modeling of a construction process for buildings and structures with visualization seen as the most objective solution to address the assigned task.

Analysis of the most common design and technological solutions used in thermal modernization, showed the impossibility of choosing the optimal solution for a single enclosing structure only by direct assessment of physical, mechanical and technical and economic characteristics.It is proposed to select the optimal design and technological solution in thermal modernization projects from all possible in two stages. At the first stage, it is necessary to discard those solutions, the implementation of which for this type of building is technically impossible or economically or technically impractical. In the second - to assess the system of indicators that comprehensively characterize the design and technological solution.In the article, based on the analysis of literature sources and the authors' own experience in the development and maintenance of thermal modernization projects, a system of criterion evaluation for structural and technological solutions of thermal modernization is developed. The criterion evaluation system for structural and technological solutions of thermal modernization contains a number of indicators that take into account the physicochemical properties of the insulation, environmental friendliness, reliability and stability of the insulation system, technological factors such as maintainability, seasonality, high quality of work due to system technology, ability to sound insulation, economy, artistic efficiency. The method of expert evaluations for each criterion and sub-criterion determines its weight in the overall evaluation. The system of evaluation of technical decisions of thermal modernization of enclosing designs developed by us provides that the estimation on criteria which have subcriteria is defined as the sum of estimations of subcriteria. The evaluation of the criteria is carried out on a five-point scale. The optimal technical solution is the solution that received the highest score on the total.

The basic principles of creating unified design-and-technological solutions for the design of parts made of polymer composite materials are outlined. For the convenience of describing it is proposed to divide the general algorithm of designing a unified design-and-technological solution into three independent stages. The content of each of the design stages is described and it is shown that decision-making methods at each of the design stages have much in common with the adoption of design decisions used in еру mechanical engineering technology.

The rationale for the choice of technological solutions in the framework of construction design is largely interrelated with the effectiveness of solving problems that arise during the stages of the project life cycle. The modeling of the project's technological support is based on a systematic approach, which is a connecting element between various tools and techniques by presenting the project's processes in the context of the life cycle, as well as their mutual correlation with technological solutions. This approach eliminates the adoption of chaotic decisions in the process of project development, since its implementation occurs directly at the initiation stage. As part of a comprehensive solution to this task, a system of principles of technological support for construction projects has been developed, including the principles of unity, balance, compliance and synergy. The results obtained in the framework of the study, the key of which are the scheme of principal modeling of technological support for construction projects and the algorithm for modeling technological support for construction projects, develop approaches to scientific and methodological approaches to managing the effectiveness of investment and construction activities in general and, in particular, to the development and justification of design solutions for construction. The key aspect of the implementation of the developed algorithm is the analysis of processes, for the methodological support of which it is proposed to use the unified form “Card determinant of the technological solution”. Practical application of the results obtained in the framework of the research can be carried out in a number of areas within the processes and procedures of investment and construction design, development of project documentation, construction consulting, technological engineering, financial and technical supervision and audit

Methods are considered for solving design and technological problems at the design stage of the radial tire specification. On the basis of the theory of gridshells, a scheme is constructed for calculating the distribution of materials in the radial section of an uncured and vulcanized radial tire. For a flat method of assembling the radial tire, algorithms for calculating profiled parts are proposed. Algorithms are considered for finding the geometry of the shaping surfaces of the tread and sidewall parts. The boundary-value problem of finding the profile of the molded uncured tire at the second stage of assembly has been solved. A method is proposed for determining the parameters of industrial equipment for tire assembly. The experiments carried out to test the accepted hypotheses of the theory of elasticity are described.

The paper describes a complex novel airlift plant for the simultaneous cleaning of water reservoir bottom sediments and water. The plant's design was tested in a model. Chemical analysis of the bottom sediments after experimental cleaning revealed a total oil content of 0.40–0.45 g kg−1, while the estimated initial oil content was around 16 g kg−1. This indicates a 35.5–40.0 times decrease in oil content.

Synthesis of the engineering design decisions is considered. The fixtures for locating and clamping parts to be tooled at the manufacturing operations are the design objects. An approach to topology and parametric design are proposed. Most efficiently these tasks are solved at the function level. Finally, geometry models and design drawings are needed for manufacturing. Fixture action is to mate bases of fixture object with function faces of fixture locators. This is constraining the degrees of freedom of object. Every base constrains certain degree of freedom. In accordance with quantity and quality of that degrees, certain locators are appointed to the base and them must be positioned resulting in the a locating chart. The quality of the locating chart may be evaluated by the several criteria, for example, by it dimensions. Unsatisfactory solution may be followed by redistributing degrees of freedom among the bases or editing positions of locators within the bases. Thus the design is decomposed onto two independent tasks of different levels.

The article considers the possibilities of purposeful influence on the development of schoolchildren creative potential, their involvement in various activities, self practical work in the field of education “Technology”. They can be effectively implemented through the use of modern pedagogical and technological systems, which are based on the principles of design and technological activities, which provides simultaneous development, training and education of students by involving them in active creative work. It is established that the creative process is characterized by the unity of theoretical knowledge and practical experience and the theory is tested in practice, but in practice the issues appear that require a theoretical solution. For technical creative activity the theoretical preparation of schoolboys consists in providing them with a system of knowledge, methods and ways of designing, receptions of the decision of creative problems and technical knowledge. Experience of practical work appears on the basis of the formation of skills and abilities to work with instruments and perform technological operations. It is described that the continuity of this process in creative activity is of great importance, and the episodic nature is ineffective. The education of constant interest in creative work is carried out continuously, systematically during all years of schooling by creative activities. The effectiveness of creative work has a significant impact on the education of creative personality traits. The result is that the student has more opportunities to implement in their intellectual and practical activities the necessary corrections to the concepts and images of technical objects and processes, which result in fundamentally new solutions. It is shown that project-technological activity as the main didactic unit promotes: formation of skills, creative system thinking, technological culture and ethics, strengthening of imagination. It is a powerful stimulus for the emergence of new creative ideas in students, the search for alternative solutions, their analysis and synthesis, and in the future provides a basis for innovative thinking and action. Implementation of personality-oriented paradigm of labor training of students; ensures the unity of education and upbringing of students, preparing them for professional self-determination, the desire for self-education. It is proved that the lessons of technical work open wide opportunities for improving the creativity of students. The use of methods of teaching students technical modeling in the process of organizing design and technological activities in the lessons of labor training contributes to this. It is important for the teacher to make the most of all opportunities for the formation of a technologically advanced personality, the level of development of which is not possible without proper creative abilities obtained in technical modeling in the process of organizing design and technological activities of students.

Background The recent Australian National Agenda for Eating Disorders highlights the role technology can play in improving accessibility and service development through web-based prevention, early access pathways, self-help, and recovery assistance. However, engagement with the eating disorders community to co-design, build, and evaluate these much-needed technology solutions through participatory design processes has been lacking and, until recently, underresourced. Objective This study aims to customize and configure a technology solution for a nontraditional (web-based, phone, email) mental health service that provides support for eating disorders and body image issues through the use of participatory design processes. Methods Participants were recruited chiefly through the Butterfly National Helpline 1800 ED HOPE (Butterfly’s National Helpline), an Australian-wide helpline supporting anyone concerned by an eating disorder or body image issue. Participants included individuals with lived experience of eating disorders and body image issues, their supportive others (such as family, health professionals, support workers), and staff of the Butterfly Foundation. Participants took part in participatory design workshops, running up to four hours, which were held nationally in urban and regional locations. The workshop agenda followed an established process of discovery, evaluation, and prototyping. Workshop activities included open and prompted discussion, reviewing working prototypes, creating descriptive artifacts, and developing user journeys. Workshop artifacts were used in a knowledge translation process, which identified key learnings to inform user journeys, user personas, and the customization and configuration of the InnoWell Platform for Butterfly’s National Helpline. Further, key themes were identified using thematic techniques and coded in NVivo 12 software. Results Six participatory design workshops were held, of which 45 participants took part. Participants highlighted that there is a critical need to address some of the barriers to care, particularly in regional and rural areas. The workshops highlighted seven overarching qualitative themes: identified barriers to care within the current system; need for people to be able to access the right care anywhere, anytime; recommendations for the technological solution (ie, InnoWell Platform features and functionality); need for communication, coordination, and integration of a technological solution embedded in Butterfly’s National Helpline; need to consider engagement and tone within the technological solution; identified challenges and areas to consider when implementing a technological solution in the Helpline; and potential outcomes of the technological solution embedded in the Helpline relating to system and service reform. Ultimately, this technology solution should ensure that the right care is provided to individuals the first time. Conclusions Our findings highlight the value of actively engaging stakeholders in participatory design processes for the customization and configuration of new technologies. End users can highlight the critical areas of need, which can be used as a catalyst for reform through the implementation of these technologies in nontraditional services.

Abstract Programming has recently become part of Swedish technology education; pupils should now be able to analyse existing programmed technological solutions, and be able to design new ones. Teachers facing this curriculum change need guidance on how to teach and what to address, based on how pupils understand the content. The aim of this study is to investigate pupils’ different ways of understanding programmed technological solutions when analysing their structure and function. Taking a phenomenographic approach, interviews were conducted with pupils aged 11–12. In the interviews, prepared contexts were used: Micro:bit constructions and programmed technological solutions from everyday life. The results show that pupils have different approaches to programmed technological solutions based on what parts are discerned in the prepared contexts, and also that pupils approach the two prepared contexts differently. The parts that are critical to discern in both of the contexts are the physical structure of components in the technological solution, how the components work and what their function is in the solution, as well as the logic in the code and how it controls the components and the flow of information that determines the function of the solution. The discernment of these parts is necessary to transcend the contextual details and generalize the understanding of structure and function in programmed technological solutions. These results have implications for teaching with concrete programming materials, suggesting a need to focus on facilitating discernment of the parts and addressing the similarities and the differences between different contexts in order to reach a generalized understanding.

Falls among older people are a major economic and public health problem. Due to the demographic change and aging of populations, there is an urgent need for accurate screening tools to identify those at risk to target effective falls prevention strategies. Clinical fall risk assessments are costly and time-consuming and thus cannot be performed frequently. Technologies provide means for assessing fall risk during daily living, making self-evaluations and fast methods for fall risk assessment for professional use. This study collects and evaluates existing technological solutions for fall risk assessment including various different sensor technologies. The study also presents one easy to use solution for assessing fall risk and suggests a concept-design for integrating sensor-based solutions into the Finnish national Kanta Personal Health Record. The optimal solution for technological fall risk assessment is still unclear. A wide implementation still requires extensive validation studies, adoption to health care processes and novel IoT -solutions for collecting large amounts of sensor data. Thorough methods should be utilised in designing the privacy and security aspects of fall risk assessment solutions, as well as different user profiles, to allow suitable interfaces and visualisations to users. It should always be clear what kind of data are collected from users and how the data are utilised. The consent of the users should also always be collected.

Abstract The use of modern resource and energy-saving technologies in multifactor technological processes is a promising direction that allows improving the design and technological support of the manufacturing sector in most developed countries. The use of an electrochemical installation - aeroponic installation with automatic control system in industrial processes allows to reduce the consumption of the working solution. It is a more energy efficient process compared to traditional production technologies. The article describes the results of the development and creation of an automatic control system for technological processes in an aeroponic installation. The results of research on ensuring the strength and wear resistance of the elements of the system for supplying the working solution in the form of an aerosol using nozzles are presented.

Purpose An inductor for the uniform heating of the extremity of a ferromagnetic steel tube for stress relieving is considered. The main goal of the study is to investigate the possibility to achieve a reasonable design of the inductor when dealing with many design variables. Design/methodology/approach Genetic optimization algorithms are used for this purpose, demonstrating the applicability of these techniques to the design of induction heating inductors. Genetic algorithms provide to the designer several optimal solutions belonging to Pareto Front, and this way they allow choosing the solution that better fits the technological requirements. In any case, the designer has to adapt the chosen solution to fit in with the real possibilities in industrial application. Findings The study demonstrates that automatic optimization methods may help the designer of the induction heating system to solve complex problems with very conflicting technological requirements. Originality/value In the paper, a problem with a high number of design variables is solved. Moreover, the goals of the optimization process are strongly conflicting, and the proposed problem is a challenging one.

The analysis of the modern approach to the choice of technological processes of production of heavy concrete products and its weaknesses were shown. It is proved that the technological process as an object is a weekly structured system due to the large degree of uncertainty associated with the human factor. It is established that development of new assortment approach to the choice of technological process of the production of construction materials differing in alleged accounting of functional purpose and service conditions of building constructions in a real estate object can be one version of the solution of this problem. The concept of the choice of optimum technological processes of production of construction materials distinctive in alleged accounting of functional purpose and service conditions of building constructions of real estate objects is developed. The technologies of mathematical statement and the solution of problems of optimization of technological processes of production of the range of construction materials differing in increase in degree of structure of system liaisons with external subsystems on the basis of standard mechanisms of the subject focused accounting of functional purpose and service conditions of building constructions and also standard algorithms of search of optimal solutions for defined the range are developed. Assessment of efficiency of assortment approach to a problem of optimization of technological processes of production of the range of construction materials including comparison of the characteristics of material received as a result of use of modern approach, assortment approach in the set parameters of management and assortment approach with expansion of a set of essential alternatives of technological process of production of the range of construction materials is executed. This assessment has shown that more perspective alternatives on qualitative content of characteristics of material are outside area of normative requirements and need justification.

PurposeThis paper aims to report on a design intervention at the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT) control room which resulted from a user-centred design approach intended to raise its usability.Design/methodology/approachAdapting a user-centred design approach, the observations and interviews revealed a number of weaknesses of the current control room design.FindingsWhile most suggestions would require larger restructuring, the designers intervened with simple solutions resulting in the improved handling of many pieces of hardware. This study suggests that such design interventions hold the possibility to majorly improve the efficiency of the control room and thereby raise the potential outcome of such highly capital intense installations.Originality/valueThereby, this paper has immediate relevance to the astronomical field and the corresponding advancements in electronics, engineering and technology development.

The paper presents a theoretical approach and a case study upon the use of an advanced CAD solution integrated with another engineering design software solution embedding DFMA concepts, particularly applied within the product and manufacturing process design for technological devices. The main objective of implementing CAD and DfX/DFMA integrated solutions is to guide designers into the product development phase so that a better design can be achieved in a shorter time and with lower costs. The case study analyzes an assembly model developed for an indexing mounting table dedicated for the automated assembling of an industrial electrical plug inlet. The assembly product model has been developed using 3D parametric modeling specific tools, further on it has been subjected to analysis based on DFMA principles and after that its components have been redesigned to respond to the analysis results. Some of the case study results and their interpretation are discussed in the paper content and finally some overall conclusions are included along with some intended future research directions.

Introduction. The study provides design and technological parameters for wall coverings with various landscaping systems. At present, the problems associated with the study of design and technological parameters in the construction of non-traditional energy-saving engineering systems have not been sufficiently studied. The purpose of the study is to develop new constructive and technological technologies for wall coverings with landscaping systems, which make it possible to systematize various constructive and technological solutions. In accordance with this goal, the following tasks have been formulated: analysis of scientific and technical research of domestic and foreign scientists in the field of green building technologies in relation to the device of wall coverings with landscaping systems; analysis of design and technological parameters for the construction of such coatings. Materials and methods. The study used methods of comparative analysis and methods of graphic modeling. Results. On the basis of the study carried out, an analysis of the design and technological parameters for the installation of wall coverings with various landscaping systems was carried out, and the most environmentally friendly and effective options for vertical gardening systems were identified. Conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that in the field of green building technologies, there is a need to develop new standards that cover the design and construction processes with a detailed description of the design and technical characteristics. On the basis of the analysis of the design and technological parameters for the installation of wall coverings with various greening systems, it was found that, according to the main indicators of the effectiveness of technological solutions, an innovative system of wall coverings with modular greening systems made of bioplastic is the best technical solution.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to characterize and identify the existing studies on the relationship between technological media and development Design/methodology/approach The authors conducted a systematic mapping study to identify and analyze the related literature. The authors identified 196 primary studies, dated from 2000 to 2017 and categorized them with respect to research focus, types of research and research method. Findings A total of 97 studies were identified and mapped, synthesizing the available evidence on the relationship between technological media and development. “Social development” with 54 articles and “communication” with 34 articles were the dominant research focus. Regarding the research type, “Solution proposal” is the most frequently employed research type. “Case study,” “discussion paper” and “interview,” respectively were the most used research methods. However, “SNA,” “focus group” and “time series” were used less often. “Solution proposal” was the most common research type between 2015 and 2017, and after that “philosophical paper” was the dominant research paper type. Further, the number of publications has increased between 2006 and 2017. Originality/value This mapping study is the first systematic exploration of the state-of-art on technological media-development nexus. The existing body of knowledge is limited to a few high quality studies.

The students of English Department of Tidar University (Untidar) were involved as the subject of the reserach. This research was conducted in four phases. They were analysis of practical problems, development of solutions, iterative cycles of testing and refinement of solution, and reflection to produce design and principles. The results of the research indicated that technological pedagogical and content knowledge approach material was needed for teaching paragraph writing. These findings recommended this TPACK approach-based material could be adopted as materials for teaching paragraph writing.

The current challenges facing the aerospace domain require unconventional solutions, which could be sought in new configurations of future aircraft and spacecraft. The choice of optimal concepts requires the consideration of a significant amount of competing engineering solutions and takes place under conditions of uncertainty. Such a problem can be addressed by enhancing existing methods for analysis and synthesis solutions, such as the Advanced Morphological Approach (AMA). It uses morphological analysis to provide a more exhaustive overview of possible problem solutions, relies on expert evaluations of alternative technological options and applies clustering to the solution space. Although an intuitive method for structured concept generation, the AMA exposes the need for more robust problem structuring, improved objectivity of options evaluation and accounting for uncertainties. The current article suggests ways to overcome these challenges and their possible integration in the process. In particular, the integration of fuzzy sets is proposed to model uncertainties during the evaluation of technological options by the experts. The Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process is adapted for integration into the AMA and for the conceptual design of aerospace vehicles.

At the initial stage of engineering design it has to determine the set of units of design object and topological relations between them. The solution making at this stage is very efficiently because the set of operations may be carried out: adding components into the project, mating them to each other’s etc. The procedures of such kind are monotonous and time consuming. Article is dedicated to automation of topological design. However, the creation and adoption of design decisions is a difficult creative task. Currently, there are several approaches that can be applied to specific types of objects, such as injection molds, blacksmith dies, etc. Most of them are various kinds of technological equipment. There is another type of such equipment – fixtures for locating and clamping parts on the technological operations of assembly, welding, cutting, etc. Automated synthesis of fixtures is considered in this article. A method for determining the design situation is proposed. The method is based on location theory and involves the analysis of a solid model of the object being located. An example of carrier system is presented too. It is assumed that the content of the article will be useful for development of application based on CAD system. Moreover, the engineer – CAD-user himself can do this without involving a professional programmer.

The article discusses approaches to the formation of the optimal combination of design solutions in the construction of a building for funeral services. The projected facility fulfills a triple purpose: social, communal and industrial. The industrial purpose is due to the peculiarities of the assembled technological equipment and its maintenance. These are the parameters of the crematorium construction project. The contradiction in the purpose of the building can be traced in the architectural solution, the decision on the choice of engineering communications and the transport and logistics infrastructure of the environment of the object. What the authors pay attention to in their publication. The classical task of substantiating a design solution is the formation of a single information space of a capital construction object, taking into account information reflecting all stages of its life cycle. The principal distinguishing feature of the research results is the prepared set of key characteristics of the formation of project documentation, taking into account the functional parameters of the specific purpose of the projected capital construction facility, the relevance of which is undeniable both from an environmental point of view and from the standpoint of socializing society and preventing religious fanaticism.

Relevance. Agricultural machines widely use hydraulic cylinders for various auxiliary and working movements. Operation in harsh field conditions leads to the failure of the hydraulic cylinder mirror and, as a result, to the loss of force on the cylinder rod. The development of technological solutions for the restoration of the inner surface as a more appropriate solution in repair production is relevant.Methods. Studies of the heat flow using the “Fluke Ti32” thermal imager and ofthe influence of gas-dynamic spraying (GDS) modes on the adhesive and cohesive strength when using a new design of the nozzle part of the GDS equipment were carried out.Results. The suitability of usage of new nozzle design for GDS in order to restore the inner surface of the hydraulic cylinder body has been established. The elongated and curved nozzle for installations of the “Dimet” type practically does not change the temperature regime of spraying. The adhesive and cohesive strength of the coatings obtained with the new nozzle design is sufficient to operate under conditions characteristic of the inner surface of the hydraulic cylinder body.

Purpose. The aim of this study is the substantiation of the methodology for assessing the choice parameters of the organizational and technological solutions, the selection mechanism is based on and determining the expediency of a particular decision regarding the priority of certain parameters within the integrated approach taking into account the systemic effect. Methodology. According to the integrated approach, the mechanism for the optimal choice of the organizational and technological solutions should be based on certain parameters. The selection mechanism requires the use of models that take into account the synergistic effect of the following factors: efficiency increase of the activity as a result of integration, merging of individual parts into a single system due to the systemic effect based on the empirical method. The main role within the integrated approach belongs to the assessment of the parameters of organizational and technical solutions, which should be considered as one of the tools of integrated management. Findings. It was determined that the mechanism for selecting the organizational and technological solutions should take into account the use of technical solutions and individual design parameters of construction products in various environmental conditions, assess the risks inherent in the implementation of each organizational and technological solution, which increases its efficiency by taking into account the total risks. Proceeding from this, a methodology for the rapid assessment of the parameters of organizational and technological solutions has been substantiated. The methodology makes it possible to increase the efficiency of the mechanism for their selection by taking into account the total risks and to form a matrix for assessing typical organizational and technological solutions. An informational model of the process of choosing organizational and technological solutions according to the tasks of organizational and technological design is proposed. Originality. A substantiated methodology and information model for assessing the parameters of the choice of organizational and technological solutions is proposed, which is the basis for the development of algorithms for their assessment, based on certain parameters of the choice efficiency, from the standpoint of the influence of environmental factors, integral indicators, the likelihood of reliability of the implementation of the design quality parameters. Practical value. The results of the study help to make the process of developing organizational and technological solutions typical, while ensuring the ability to take into account all integral parameters of the impact, and environmental factors. The matrix for evaluating typical organizational and technological solutions can be used both at the level of a separate construction and design organization, and as the basis of an information system, or a program for automating the process of selecting organizational and technological decisions, which will speed up the process of analysis and adoption of such decisions, and increase the efficiency of the choice mechanism.

Existing initiatives to improve physical, mental, and social condition of senior citizens, which in Europe fall under the name of Active and Healthy Ageing, are including technological paradigms as main driver for innovation uptake. Among these paradigms, Smart Cities and the Internet of Things are of utmost importance. However, these initiatives may benefit from unified visions, efforts, and frameworks when it comes to defining technological solutions that take the most of both paradigms. We have defined an iterative approach, which combines user centred design techniques, technological development approaches, and a multifaceted adaptation process, to define a solution for Active and Healthy Ageing that makes use of the two paradigms. The solution is being defined in the context of two research and innovation projects, City4Age and ACTIVAGE, during which a solution is going to be defined and evaluated in the city of Madrid. Results show how Smart Cities and Internet of Things contribute to the solution, from a user (user needs and use cases) and a service delivery (technologies, architecture, and suppliers) perspective. In conclusion, we find the cocreation framework extremely useful for the Active and Health Ageing domain, and the proposed implementation of it is functioning, although there is room for improvement.

But wireless sensor network can only provide service within a certain range, in order to overcome this limitation and provide remote application capacity, this paper proposes a technological solutions for the interconnection of ZigBee network and the Ethernet, develops a ZigBee gateway based on ARM platform. Based on the analysis of the ZigBee protocol stack and TCP/IP protocol stack, the protocol conversion mechanism of ZigBee and TCP/IP is presented. Through transplantation LwIP protocol stack, this paper achieves the goal of connecting gateway to Internet, and finally realizes the conversion from ZigBee network to TCP/IP network.

Abstract The technology of production, transportation, and processing of oil and gas involves various hazardous processes. To mitigate the risk that these processes pose, the technological solutions work closely with the automated control and safety systems. The design and organisation of maintenance for the automated safety instrumented systems (SIS) have a significant bearing on the overall safety of operations in this industry. Over the past few decades, many hydrocarbon resources have been discovered in unconventional environments, such as remote, offshore, and arctic locations. Transportation of engineering personnel to these remote locations and back, and thereby, the organisation of the shift work poses additional challenges for the petroleum sector. Under such circumstances, the workforce-related costs play a considerable role in the overall cost of the technological solution and thereby the decisions regarding the workforce organisation should be addressed in the framework of evaluating and choosing the appropriate safety measures. That is why the research presented in this paper aims to address the lifecycle of the technological solution integrating the problems of SIS design, maintenance planning, and employee scheduling into a single decision-making framework to optimise the set of technical and organisational safety measures inherent in the SIS. The performance and maintenance of the SIS are described with a Markov model of device failures, repairs and technological incidents occurrence. The employee scheduling part of the mathematical model utilises the set-covering formulation of maintenance crews taking particular trips. A black-box optimisation algorithm is used to find reasonable solutions to the integrated problem of engineering design and workforce planning. The decisions include the choices of the components and structures for the safety system, the facility overhaul frequencies, the maintenance personnel size, as well as the schedules of trips and shifts for the crews.

This paper will present a new concept of cable cars with central entry and exit. First, existing systems of cable cars and their properties will be presented and advantages of the new concept will be explained. The new concept utilizes solution geometry as the basis of the idea. 3D computer graphic tools were used for the design. In the second part of the article, the geometric procedure of the design of the rope flow curve in the station is presented. This is necessary in order to stop the cabin steadily in the central position. If the station is designed in such a way that passengers enter and exit on a stationary platform separate from the device, the capacities of the device can be large. In this case, passengers entering and exiting do not interfere with the other passengers who are traveling with the cable car on the line.

The article is devoted to the problem of improving road construction technologies, in particular, technological solutions for logging roads. As you know, in road construction, the choice and justification of technological solutions for the road surface is one of the first stages of design, the efficiency of which affects further project as a whole, timing and costs of construction. The solution to such a problem is extremely difficult and, first of all, due to the many interrelated parameters, factors, as well as the uncertainties of data in the problem. The task becomes much more complicated when it is also necessary to take into account the economic indicators of road construction project. But it is in this form that it is of the greatest interest, since these characteristics are often the most important in practice. For these reasons, the problem remains completely unsolved. Therefore, requires further research, as noted, taking into account the uncertainties in the problem. Intelligent systems based on the theory of fuzzy sets, neural networks and their hybrid solutions are proposed for this class of problems, as a result of modern achievements in the field of mathematics and information technologies. Thus, the purpose of this research was to develop a neural network for evaluating technological solutions for logging roads. The result of the research was the development of an adaptive neuro-fuzzy network such as ANFIS, which allows calculating the cost of the road surface depending on the main technological and initial financial parameters. The neural network can be recommended for the design of forest roads, as well as for rapid assessment of the effectiveness of various technological solutions during competitive (tender) selection.

The aggregate of these characteristics and the finished product assesses the level of ecological and technological preparation of pupils of the GSEI. By organizing and designing the educational process, the pupils independently acquire the abilities (initiative, flexibility, mobility, willingness to make decisions, analytical and critical thinking).It has been proved that the project activities provide the consolidation and systematization of the content of ecological training and its components; the development of a coherent system of knowledge and environmental awareness among the students of general secondary education institutions.

The article deals with issues related to ensuring the quality of machining of a discontinuous surface. The subject of research is the technology of boring holes. Machining holes with intermittent areas on the surface is difficult due to the occurrence of dynamic effects. As a rule, regulatory and technical documentation does not give specific recommendations for such cases. The authors of the article describe the introduction of additional conditions, which allow determining the modes of boring holes with intermittent areas on the surface at the design stage of the technological process. This solution ensures that the part meets the specified quality requirements and allows you to verify the correctness of the technological decisions. The algorithm for selecting boring modes of holes with discontinuous surfaces implements the proposed technical solution in practice.

The purpose of the work is to study the development of concepts and technologies for the manufacture of ceiling fixtures to light the interior of buildings – office, public and administrative ones, etc. It is known that fluorescent lamps have long been used for interior lighting. Massive diffusers made of matte polycarbonate sheets were used to smooth the light intensity curve of such luminaires and bring it to the cosine light distribution. Due to the matte coating of the diffuser, the luminous part of the light fixtures acquired, with a fairly good approximation, the properties of an equally bright surface. Such surfaces are known to have a cosine light distribution and are very convenient for lighting. In the early 2000s, the problem of energy saving worsened, which led to a significant reduction in the number of luminaires of this type. These changes have also affected the approaches to the design of indoor light fixtures. The major difference of the new modifications of fluorescent fixtures is the absence of a matte reflector, which is very uneconomical in terms of energy saving, since it significantly decreased the luminous flux. The refusal to use the diffuser led to the emergence of fluorescent fixtures with a specular reflection system and shutters, which limited the dazzling effect of such lamps. However, with the parallel development of LED technology, the concept of choosing a light source in indoor lighting fixtures began tochange. In grille fixtures, LEDs were gradually replacing fluorescent ones. Nowadays, manufacturers' websites offer a fairly wide selection of LED fixtures. They differ in the price, quality of LEDs used, design and technological solutions. Recently, the volume of production and range of LED light bars has been increasing. The article presents an attempt to consider which fixtures offered on the modern market are the most balanced in terms of engineering solution in the context of lighting, operational, pricing, technological and certification characteristics. Based on the analysis of fixtures of different types and modifications, the authors concluded that the most optimal engineering solution is ceiling LED light bars and developed a method of their design and certification.

In order to realize the parametric design of the conjugate cam beating-up mechanism, on the basis of the technological parameters of beating-up mechanism, ideal kinematical curves of the beating-up mechanism are builded, and the mathematical model of reverse solution for this mechanism is established. The parameters of this beating-up mechanism are obtained by reverse solution according to the kinematic requirements and the constructed ideal kinematic curves. The secondary development of UG is conducted based on VB.NET, the parametric design platform which is integrated with the functions of parametric reverse solution, motion simulation, three-dimensional modeling and virtual assembly is built. After entering the technological parameters of beating-up and essential structural parameters by users, the three-dimensional drawing of main parts such as the conjugate cam and shaft, can be obtained by this platform, also the processing data of the cam can be calculated. This platform provides a rapid approach for the parametric design of beating-up mechanism.

General analysis of the design and technological solutions of machines for strip sowing is given. The task is to find a middle ground between constructive and technological solutions and zonal conditions that would ensure high productivity of the cultivated crop at minimal cost. The analysis shows that a promising direction is the use of combined aggregates designed for surface tillage, both for sowing grain crops and for row crops, with simultaneous application of mineral fertilizers and harrowing.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate applicability of design thinking in creating employee centric HR solutions. This application is studied in the context of a food tech company. A design thinking process for arriving at an HR solution for employee experience management is proposed. Design/methodology/approach The study uses a single case study method. The HR professionals of a food tech company were interviewed to relate their narratives with the existing conceptual framework on design thinking. Findings It was found that the firm focused on the technological supremacy as well as developed an engaged and motivated team of delivery boys. This provided the required competitive advantage and growth. The first step in implementing the HR solution was to collect primary data for insights into the pain and gain points in employee’s day to day routine. Using the lens of empathy, multiple touch points through incentive policies, rewards, work engagement tools, feedback, inclusive decision making, and technology enabled learning solutions were designed. These signaled a caring and employee centric leadership and built future orientation and engaged the employees. Practical implications By demonstrating the applicability of design thinking and linking it to the HR solutions, a conceptual model relevant to the Food Tech industry was proposed. By integrating the process used to reach the solution, a modified model can be developed by other HR professionals working in any other Food tech company, aggregator/ service providers or logistics companies. Originality/value The study is among the initial studies to approach design thinking for HR solutions in a food tech industry.

Despite the widespread use of monolithic construction, precast concrete remains in demand in the construction of residential and administrative buildings. Regardless of the advantages in technology and the quality of work, it is necessary and appropriate to modernize the existing design solutions, which allows you to simplify and speed up the technological operations during construction. Moreover, in the construction of complex nodes and joints, the qualification of workers is important, so simplifying the work without losing the quality of construction and ensuring strength, stability and durability is an important task. This problem can be solved by using modern embedded parts in the joints that do not require welding and other complex technological operations. In this paper, a constructive solution of the horizontal joint of the floor slabs located in the zone of action of minimal forces is proposed on the example of a girderless frame. The purpose of the study is to determine the stress-strain state of the proposed structural solution of the horizontal joint of floor slabs using loopshaped embedded parts «PFEIFER» and to develop recommendations for determining the shear compliance. Based on the analysis of the results of numerical modeling, the features of the stress-strain state of the joint during shear operation are revealed. The results obtained can be used in the design of buildings with precast-monolithic ringless frames, in the modernization of existing standard solutions of precast-monolithic frames, as well as other load-bearing systems made of precast concrete.

Presented is a new design-technological solution of a side safety device for Wielton trucks. A side safety device is manufactured of glass-polyester laminates and foam using press technology. Numerical modelling in MSC.Marc system and experimental verification tests were conducted according to Regulations no. 73. A good qualitative and quantitative compatibility of the results, were obtained.
