Анотація:
Abstract This article deals with the level of democracy in Croatia after EU accession. The first part presents key events, processes, and actors which have shaped the trajectory of democratic development. The second part discusses the Croatian case in the context of current research on democratic backsliding. The third part tests the idea about democratic backsliding in Croatia by running regression models with democracy indices derived from the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) dataset. The findings challenge the idea of democratic backsliding in Croatia. The models do not show a clear association of decreased democracy scores after EU accession but point to a stronger role of the pre-accession period in increasing levels of democracy in Croatia. The models also highlight the explanatory role of executive and public sector corruption regarding democracy levels in Croatia. Instead of speaking of democratic backsliding, the Croatian case can be better described as one experiencing democratic stagnation.

Анотація:
This paper presents a research that was carried out in autumn of 2021in Thessaloniki, Greece. Main purpose was to find out the link between democratic behavior of Greek young adults and the civic education that is obtained in public secondary education. For this reason, 524 students of the department of political sciences were asked questions regarding their points of view on civic education in public schools. This sample was chosen due to the political sensitization they have, because of their main field of studies. The results showed the emphasis they pose on public schools as far as the political education is concerned. Moreover, views that politicization is connected with peer groups and watching TV were refuted.Keywords: Democratic Behavior, Greek Educational System, Secondary Education, Civic Education, Students, Ordinal Regression.

Using a panel of US states over the period 1985–2010, we examine how Democratic governors affect economic freedom compared to Republican governors. Economic freedom is measured using the Economic Freedom of North America Index. Given the emphasis that this index places on smaller government, we expect that having a Democratic governor leads to less economic freedom. However, using a regression discontinuity approach, we find that Democratic governors do not reduce economic freedom compared to Republican governors elected by a similar margin. An implication of this result is that governors must appeal to the median voter when making policy.

While the emerging debate about the disintegration of the European Union focuses on descriptive and explanatory questions, this article approaches the phenomenon from the perspective of democratic theory. Building on a concept of disintegration as a form of constitutional politics that includes various possibilities of dismantling supranational polities, I argue that disintegration gives rise to a democratic puzzle. While it must be possible, for democratic reasons, to partially or entirely reverse European integration, any such step threatens the European Union’s democratic achievements. Disintegration seems to be caught between legitimate change and regression. To address this democratic puzzle, I examine to what extent European integration has produced democracy-related ‘ratchet effects’ that limit the scope for legitimate reversal. This analysis leads to three principles of legitimate disintegration that can be applied to any supranational polity and have important implications for the post-Brexit relations between the United Kingdom and the European Union.

COVID-19 Pandemic existence has urged the onset of misuse of power in several countries that have a weak democracy with “emergency policy” or “discretional rules”, as if it become an opportunity for the government to do the agenda-setting towards illiberal polict without having mobilization concern or opositions counter (Schenkkan 2020). This article aim to explore how executive’s power aggrandisement that was happened in the 2th period of Jokowi’s administrative as a contribution of democracry degradation in Indonesia. With the use of library research, that examine various literature, such as book, journal, report that relevan to the research topics (Neuman 2014), Author explore the data regarding the executive aggrandisement in the 2th period of Jokowi’s Administrative. The result of this research is democracy degradation or democrary backsliding happened during Jokowi’s Administatrative was instigated with several factors which is division of power, executive aggrandisement, and the discourse of 3th period of Jokowi’s administration.

Democratic rule in Africa has been characterized by uneasiness resulting from autocratic tendencies in some of the countries. From the 1990s and due to a host of factors, African countries began to experience new lease of democratization with high hopes which soon turned out to be an illusion arising from series of developments within and outside the continent. Against this background, this paper examines dimensions of democratic rule in Africa noting its tendencies towards consolidation and regression as it manifests in different countries as well as factors that are responsible for the observed trend. Data for the study is obtained from secondary sources through examination of copious literature on the subject and examining occurrences in different parts of the continent. It is concluded that the region experienced overall, though uneven and not substantial progress towards democratization. While some have experienced tendency towards backsliding, some others have experienced considerable growth in some of the indexes that promote democratic consolidation. On the aggregate however, the continent cannot be said to be making substantial progress towards consolidation. This may be due to a host of factors that include peculiar political environment of each country. It thus recommended that African leaders need to introduce reforms that would cut across the different facets of the continent and that will take into account the specific character of each African country rather than the adoption of a policy based on its success in a different socio-political environment.

Abstract In recent times, it has become increasingly common that elected parties and leaders systematically undermine democracy and the rule of law. This phenomenon is often framed with the term democratic backsliding or democratic regression. This article deals with the relatively little-studied topic of resistance to democratic regressions. Chief amongst the things it discusses is the rather central ethical issue of whether resisters may themselves, in their attempts to prevent a further erosion of democracy, transgress democratic norms. But the argument advanced in the article is not merely about the ethics of resistance. It begins, perhaps unconventionally, by addressing the affective dimension of resistance to democratic regressions, looking in particular at the powerful feelings of anger and despair that pro-democratic citizens living under a regressive government are likely to experience. As the article argues, these feelings have not only motivational but also epistemic potential, which must be adequately theorized in order to understand how resisters can respond to the ethical challenges facing them.

AbstractThis article examines criminality that can emerge within the context of a political party’s large group regression. The group behavior of the Democratic party after its loss in the 2016 United States Presidential election serves as a case that illustrates this concept. Psychoanalytic concepts discussed by Vamik Volkan are used as the framework for understanding the party’s group behavior. Since its loss in the election, the Democratic party has demonstrated remarkable coherence in its hostility towards Republicans. The hostility has ranged from uncivil behavior to violence manifested across a range of socioeconomic statuses and locations. The steep decline in the Democratic party’s civility towards its opponent is indicative of a large group regression. The loss of the 2016 Presidential election precipitated the party’s regression, which has left its members responding in primitive psychological ways. A range of criminality has emerged within this regressed state, such as assault, battery, and false police allegations. The regressed state of the party leaves it vulnerable to malignant narcissistic leadership or dysfunctional ideologies, which can normalize the regressive behavior. The large group regression examined in this paper may apply to other Western societies that experience dramatic sociopolitical change.

Discussions about democratisation have often revolved around the strengthening or weakening phenomenon/notion of democracy. This research is a continuation of previous studies on democratic regression in Indonesia. Charles Tilly (2007) examined democratic regression from democracy and de-democratization theory through the concept of low-capacity democracy. Tilly's perspective argues a low-capacity democratic process occurred during the Joko Widodo administration in Indonesia from 2014 to 2020 when the state implemented the Police as a political instrument to maintain power. As a result, the character of the Police deviated from democratic principles, leading to a problem for police professionalism. The study employs qualitative methods, in which the primary data is obtained from in-depth interviews with several key informants. The secondary data is gathered from scientific works of literature and news in online media. This study indicates how low-capacity democracy developed through: first, the Indonesian regime's intervention and exercise of control by involving and appointing police officers to civilian positions; second, police repression against civil liberties; and third, the Police's justification for their authority and power. Thus, this study confirms Tilly's argument that a low-capacity democratic process occurs when democratic countries pursue undemocratic methods by manipulating the Police as an instrument to strengthen the power of the regime. The recommendation of this study is to strengthen democracy in terms of law enforcement by the supervision of parliament and supervisory institutions to retain the Police’s role as an independent law enforcement institution.

This study aims to examine the democratic leadership on employee performance with motivation as an intervening variable on employee of the DPRD Kota Y. The sample technique in this study used a census and collected 35 respondents. The techniques of collecting data using a questionnaire. Data analysis method used in the form of simple regression, multiple regression and path analysis. The results show that the democratic leadership have a positive and significant effect on motivation. The objective of the study was to assess (1) descriptive about the students’ emotional intelligence, their perception towards democratic parenting model and the teacher’s democratic leadership style; (2) the correlation between the democratic parenting model with the emotional intelligence; (3) the teachers’ democratic leadership style with emotional intelligence, and 4) the correlation between the democratic parenting model and the teachers’ democratic leadership style with the emotional intelligence. The sample consisted of 182 student of SMA Negeri 2 Watampone, academic year 2007-2008, selected bay way of proporsional random sampling. The questionnaires to collect the data was designed to assess the perception about the democratic parenting by parents, the teachers’ democratic leadership style, and the emotional intelligence. The data were analyzed by employing the Simple Regression analysis technique for hypotesis one and two, and Multiple Regression for hypotesis three. The results of the correlation indicated (1) there was a significant correlation between emotional intelligence with the perception of democratic parenting model, (2) the emotional intelligence is significantly correlated with the perception obout the teacers’ democratic leadership style and (3) there was a significant correlation between the perception obout the democratic parenting model and the perception obout the teachers’ democratic leadership style with emotional intelligence. The two predictors provided an effective contribution at 46 percent against the variation of criteria emotional intelligence.

The rule of law in Brazil suffered mightily during the presidency of Jair Bolsonaro. His pugnacious public-security rhetoric, antagonism to environmental and indigenous issues, and connivance with corruption contributed to deepening long-standing problems of Brazilian democracy, while setting a number of traps that his successor, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, is now forced to navigate. Despite the apparent success of political institutions in blocking Bolsonaro’s most damaging threats to democracy, they have not emerged unscathed. The high court, in particular, has been tarnished by its increasing politicization and the clear evidence that it continues to fail to deliver the most basic foundations of a democratic rule of law.

This article examines the democratic regression in Indonesia before the local political competition, particularly the 2018 West Java regional election, by investigating the allocation of police officers to civilian political positions. This study contends that the government plays a role in the development of challenges in police professionalism that become apparent during democratic elections. In this study, the government achieved this by assigning serving police personnel to civilian political positions, particularly as temporary governors. This study employs a qualitative methodology that entails conducting desk research to analyze secondary data from many sources, such as books, journals, articles, reports, and official documents, with a specific focus on government regulations. The research findings validate that the connection between the police and the regime forms a political alliance between the state and the police, resulting in the police's role and engagement in the political sphere, particularly during elections. Local political competitions in Indonesia are currently experiencing degradation in democratic processes, which has become a notable phenomenon of democratic regression.

This study aims to determine how much influence the democratic leadership style has on the work motivation of the sales employees of BRI Muara Teweh Branch. The data processing technique used by the author is a simple linear regression analysis used to predict how changes in the value of the dependent variable will increase or decrease the value of the independent variable. The results of data collection are obtained. From the regression model equation, it is known that the Democratic Leadership variable (X) shows a positive regression coefficient value, this indicates a positive direction or a unidirectional relationship between the variable Democratic Leadership Style and Work Motivation for sales employees of BRI Bank Muara Teweh Branch. This means that if the democratic leadership increases, the work motivation of sales employees of BRI Bank Muara Teweh branch will increase, and vice versa if the democratic leadership decreases, the work motivation of sales employees of BRI Bank Muara Teweh branch will decrease. The results of the study concluded that the correlation coefficient (R) shows a close relationship between the independent variable (democratic leadership) and the dependent variable (work motivation), with a correlation value of R is 0.711. While the value of the coefficient of determination or R2 by 0505, which means that 50.5% of working motivation can be explained by the Democratic leadership. For further researchers, it is suggested to look at other leadership style variables.

Democratic attitude is an essential element in supporting the survival of a nation, especially in Reformation Era. Therefore, the decline of democratic attitude among students today deserves attention by instilling an understanding of nationalism and historical consciousness in teaching-learning process. This study aims to analyze: (1) correlation between understanding of nationalism and students’ democratic attitude; (2) correlation between historical consciousness and students’ democratic attitude; and (3) correlation between understanding of nationalism and historical consciousness and students’ democratic attitude. Method used in this study is ex-post facto descriptive, which is also designed with correlational research. The study was conducted on a sample of 265 Senior High School students at Banda Aceh. To meet the research objective, questioners were distributed regarding three variables of the recent study. Then, the data were analyzed by using correlation analysis, simple regression and double regression in significant 5%; the calculation is done by using SPSS 22 and XLSTAT. Understanding of nationalism and historical consciousness were found to have positive correlation toward students’ democratic attitude. Therefore it is proved that history education can enhance students’ understanding of nationalism and historical consciousness, which finally lead them to develop their democratic attitude.

This research aimed to know the correlation between democratic parenting style and emotional intelligence with sibling rivalry. Sibling rivalry triggered by individual internal or external factors. In this research, democratic parenting style serve as individual external factor and emotional intelligence serve as individual internal factor for sibling rivalry. Participants in this study were selected by purposive sampling technique which are parents who have children in age of 7-8 years old. Quntitative method was used by distributing Democratic Parenting Style Scale, Emotional Intelligence Scale and Persaingan antar saudara Scale to the participants. Regression was used to understand the correlation between variables and its correlational strength. This research showed that there is significant negative correlation between democratic parenting style and emotional intelligence with sibling rivalry. Partially, democratic parenting style and sibling rivalry results correlation coefficient r = -0.196 meanwhile emotional intelligence and sibling rivalry results correlation coefficient r = -0.293. Regression analysis between variables shows R square (R2) valued of 0.88 (8.8%). This result shows that democratic parenting style and emotionl intelligence can explain the variable variances of sibling rivalry valued of 8.8% together.

Abstract This study aims to determine the relationship between democratic parenting of parents and the independence of group B students in Binder Kindergarten 3, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted because there were problems in democratic parenting with the independence of group B students. The type of research used is a quantitative approach with a correlational research type. The population of this research is 54 parents. By using a sample census, which means that the entire population will be used as a sample. Data were obtained through a temporary questionnaire for data analysis using normality test analysis, simple linear regression test with the help of SPSS version 14.00 for windows. From the research results, it was found that: the coefficient value of the regression direction between the variables of democratic parenting with the independence of group B students was 0.424 and the significance was t = 0.504. This shows that the variable of democratic parenting at an error rate of 0.05 has a significant effect, and the proposed hypothesis is rejected. Leadership is an important element in a company, because without leadership a company will experience setbacks. A leader has different characteristics in leading his subordinates. This leader's behavior is called leadership style. This study aims to determine the effect of democratic leadership style on the performance of employees in PD. Greater Makassar Parking. This research is a quantitative research that shows causation. The sample in this study were 51 people using the Simple Random Sampling technique and 3 informants. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive data analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of the product moment correlation test, the relationship between variables is moderate. The results showed that the democratic leadership style was in the "Very Good" category while the employee's performance was in the "Very Good" category. Based on the results of simple linear regression analysis it was concluded that there is a positive and significant influence of democratic leadership style on employee performance. Choosing the right leadership style will have a good impact on the company. The results of this study state that the democratic leadership style tends to be open with employees, this can improve an employee's performance because they are able to work together and provide direct opinions with leaders. Objectives COVID-19 has been at the forefront of global concern since its emergence in December of 2019. Determining the social factors that drive case incidence is paramount to mitigating disease spread. We gathered data from the Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) along with Democratic voting percentage to attempt to understand which county-level sociodemographic metrics had a significant correlation with case rate for COVID-19. Methods We used elastic net regression due to issues with variable collinearity and model overfitting. Our modelling framework included using the ten Health and Human Services regions as submodels for the two time periods 22 March 2020 to 15 June 2021 (prior to the Delta time period) and 15 June 2021 to 1 November 2021 (the Delta time period). Results Statistically, elastic net improved prediction when compared to multiple regression, as almost every HHS model consistently had a lower root mean square error (RMSE) and satisfactory R2 coefficients. These analyses show that the percentage of minorities, disabled individuals, individuals living in group quarters, and individuals who voted Democratic correlated significantly with COVID-19 attack rate as determined by Variable Importance Plots (VIPs). Conclusions The percentage of minorities per county correlated positively with cases in the earlier time period and negatively in the later time period, which complements previous research. In contrast, higher percentages of disabled individuals per county correlated negatively in the earlier time period. Counties with an above average percentage of group quarters experienced a high attack rate early which then diminished in significance after the primary vaccine rollout. Higher Democratic voting consistently correlated negatively with cases, coinciding with previous findings regarding a partisan divide in COVID-19 cases at the county level. Our findings can assist regional policymakers in distributing resources to more vulnerable counties in future pandemics based on SVI.

The main objective of this study is to examine the possible relationship between democratic values, problem-solving skills, and attitudes toward violence. In addition, it studies whether democratic values, problem solving skills and the tendency of attitudes toward violence differ according to different variables. Descriptive model was used in the research. The study group of the study consisted of a total of 326 students, 172 female and 154 male selected by appropriate sampling from three middle schools in Konya. It was used Basic Democratic Values Questionnaire, Problem Solving Inventory for Children, and the Adolescents' Attitudes Toward the Violence in the study. While the data were analyzing, t test, ANOVA test, Pearson Moment Product Correlation analysis and simple linear regression analysis were used. When the data obtained from the research were examined, there was a significant difference in the level of attitudes toward violence according to the gender variables. There was a significant difference in problem solving skills and attitudes toward violence according to grade variables. Pearson's correlation analysis revealed statistically significant and negative relationship between democratic values, problem-solving skills, and attitudes toward violence. As a result of simple regression analysis, democratic values have predictive role on problem solving skills; it is seen that problem-solving skills are important variables in the tendency towards violence.

In this study, the author examines how inflation and economic growth differ in more- and less-democratic regimes and in new and mature democracies. The analysis is based on a panel research design featuring annual data from a large sample of underdeveloped countries and two-way, fixed-effects regression analysis. The author's central finding is that more-democratic countries have higher inflation and slower growth than less-democratic countries. Inflation apparently is higher than more-democratic countries mainly because they have higher fiscal deficits and faster wage growth; this higher inflation marginally reduces economic growth in these countries. The author also finds that new and mature democracies do not have significantly different inflation and growth rates. The findings suggest that unrestrained political participation and the resulting demands placed on state officials undermine democratic performance.

The contemporary Russian Federation is undergoing a process of democratic regression and a return to the socio-political authoritarianism, traditional to the Russian political system. The detachment of decision-making processes from the will of the citizens means that elites follow their own logic of action while remaining outside democratic control. Thus, all decisions are taken in the interests of the elites, most of whom come from the secret services and the military. The consolidation of the political regime, the regression of democracy in Russian conditions, promotes a return to great power thinking and thus encourages aggressive behaviour. In the article, the author points out that the aggression against Ukraine, undertaken in January 2022, was preceded by a long-term process of consolidation of the political system and elimination from its structure of any check and balance mechanisms allowing democratic control over political decision-making processes.

An organization, to improve employee performance depends on the leadership style itself. This study aims to determine the effect of democratic leadership style on employee performance at the Watang Sawitto District Office, Pinrang Regency. This research is quantitative research that shows a causal relationship. The population in this study was 31. Data collection techniques used are observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is a descriptive statistical analysis using percentages and inferential statistical analysis using data normality tests, product-moment correlation analysis, and simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the democratic leadership style at the Watang Sawitto District office, Pinrang Regency was in the very good category in terms of decisions made together, respecting the potential of subordinates, listening to criticism, suggestions, and opinions from subordinates, and cooperating with subordinates. Meanwhile, employee performance is in the very good category in terms of service orientation, commitment, work initiative, cooperation, and leadership. Based on simple linear regression analysis, it shows that democratic leadership style influences employee performance. This research can be used as a reference that focuses on the democratic leadership style on employee performance because the previous research focused on employee work motivation.

The main purpose of this study was to examine the influence of leaders’ personal values on their democratic behavior from a sustainability perspective. We specified and tested the research model, drawing upon modified versions of the theory of basic values and the autocratic–democratic leadership continuum. A total of 208 Slovenian and 196 Austrian leaders’ responses were used in hierarchical regression and structural equation modeling analysis. The results reveal a significant and positive influence of collectivistic values in both samples on democratic leadership behavior. A significant and negative effect of individualistic values on democratic leadership behavior is present in Austria, while in Slovenia, the effect is positive but not significant. Based on acknowledged associations between leader’s values, leaders’ democratic leadership behavior, and sustainable development, we argue that democratic leadership behavior contributes to the sustainable working and behavior of organizations. These results have theoretical implications, indicating how personal values affect leaders’ democratic behavior and contribute to the sustainable working and behavior of organizations. The practical implications relate to the strengthening of leaders’ democratic behavior in Slovenian and Austrian organizations. In addition, these findings will be helpful in increasing the sustainability of organizations via fostering democratic leadership behavior and its underlying personal values.

This study aims to measure someone’s obedience which is influenced by the Islamic morals and parenting. Parenting in this study refers to Authoritarian, Permissive and Democratic. While Islamic morals in this study are related to rules and conventions regarding what humans should do in their interactions with others. Respondent of this study was 120 people using accindental sampling. Aiken V validity and Alpha Cronbach reliability is used to measure Obedience Scale (0.764, 0.849), Islamic Moral scale (0.830, 0.804), Authoritarian scale (0.917, 0.611), Permissive Scale (0.833, 0.543) and Demokratic Scale (0.850, 0.891). There is a significant correlation between Obedience and Islamic morals (p= .521), obedience and democratic parenting (p = .380), Democratic parenting and Islamic morals (p= .636). Regression analysis was carried out to see the influence and contribution of Islamic morals and parenting authoritarian, permissive and democratic – towards obedience, where Islamic morals significantly affected compliance by 27.1% and democratic parenting by 14.4%.

This research aims to know the relationship between emotional intelligence with Adaptive coping strategies, relationships with democratic parenting and adaptive coping strategies and the relationship between emotional intelligence and democratic parenting with Adaptive coping strategies on senior students. The population in this research is the senior students at the Faculty of psychology of the University of Medan Area. Sample research amounted to 74 students were taken with purposive sampling technique. The instruments used are emotional intelligence scale, parenting democratic scale and adaptive coping strategy scale. Results of multiple regression analysis shows amounted to 469.324 with Freg value p = 0.000 (p 0.005) it shows that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and democratic parenting with adaptive coping strategies. Partially, there is the relationship between emotional intelligence with adaptive coping strategies with rxy = 0.00 0.936 with p , and there is a relationship between democratic parenting with adaptive coping strategies rxy = 0.920 with p 0.00. The value of R2 of 0.933 emotional intelligence means and foster democratic patterns together contributed effectively amounted to 93.3% against adaptive coping strategies.

This study aims to empirically examine the relationship between democratic parenting and emotion regulation with the aggressiveness of soccer fans. The research subjects were students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Sleman, totalling 71 students. The Likert model scale is the main instrument to obtain data on aggressiveness, democratic parenting, and emotion regulation. The data was then analyzed using multiple regression with the SPSS V26 program. The analysis results show that simultaneously there is a very significant relationship between democratic parenting and emotion regulation with aggressiveness (R = 0.604 with a sig. 0.000). While partially, democratic parenting with aggressiveness and emotion regulation with aggressiveness proved to have a very significant negative relationship (partial = -0.460 with sig. 0.000 level and partial = -0.315 with sig. 0.008). The contribution of democratic parenting to aggressiveness is more dominant (24%) than the contribution of emotion regulation to aggressiveness (12.4%). In conclusion, democratic parenting as an external factor from the family environment plays a vital role in controlling children's behaviour in adolescence (aggressiveness) than factors originating from within the child (emotion regulation).

This research aims to analyze the influence of democratic leadership style, physical work environment and extrinsic motivation on the performance of PT employees. Mayasari Bakti in Jakarta. This research data uses primary data in the form of a questionnaire to 110 respondents who work at PT. Mayasari Bakti using the multiple linear regression method which was processed using SPSS 17.0 software. From data that has met the validity test, reliability test and classical assumption test, the following regression equation is obtained: Y =5,823+ 0,316X1+0,252X2+0,257X3. Where are the employee performance decision variables (Y), democratic leadership style (X1), physical work environment (X2) and extrinsic motivation (X3). From the model feasibility test, it shows that the three independent variables studied are proven to have a positive effect on the dependent variable together. Through partial hypothesis testing, it can be seen that democratic leadership style, physical work environment and extrinsic motivation are proven to each have a positive influence on purchasing decisions, namely 55.60%, meaning that 55.60% of the dependent variable of employee performance can be explained by the independent variable, namely leadership style. democratic, physical work environment and extrinsic motivation. Meanwhile, the remaining 44.40% is explained by other variables that were not included in this research.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the moderating effect of contingent reward on the relationship between democratic leadership and organizational performance. Design/methodology/approach Explanatory and cross-sectional survey designs were used. A quantitative research approach was also adopted to collect the data from 476 employees in the telecommunication industry. Using statistics package for social science, the data was analyzed via descriptive statistics, correlation and hierarchical regression techniques. Findings The results reveal that both democratic leadership and contingent reward have a significant positive relationship with organizational performance. Furthermore, contingent reward significantly augments and moderates the relationship between democratic leadership and organizational performance. Thus, the combination of democratic leadership and contingent reward would more likely produce higher organizational performance. Originality/value This study has made a significant contribution to leadership and organizational literature by establishing the effectiveness of contingent reward as a moderator on the relationship between democratic leadership and organizational performance in a telecommunication industry.

This research aims to determine the relationship between democratic parenting and peer interaction with emotional intelligence. The hypothesis proposed, there is a positive relationship between democratic parenting and peer interaction with emotional intelligence, the higher democratic parenting pattern and peer interaction, so the emotional intelligence will be the higher also . The population in this research amounted to 113 people and the sample in this research amounted to 85 people. The method that researchers use is quantitative and for take a sampling technique researchers using total sampling technique. Scale form in the researchers using Guttman scale with the coefficient of reliability in democratic parenting of 0.903 on peer interaction of 0.764 and on emotional intelligence of 0.888. Data analysis that researchers used is multiple regression analysis and partial correlation. Based on the result, researchers concluded that there is a significant relationship between democratic parenting and peer interaction with emotional intelligence, as shown by coefficient r = 0.518; with p = 0.00 means (p 0.01) it’s means that the higher the democratic parenting pattern and peer interaction so the emotional intelligence will be the higher also . Drawing on the literatures on elite transitions, factionalism and the new institutionalism, this paper hypothesizes that the stability of partially democratic and emerging democratic regimes is dependent on the willingness of elites to make credible commitments to cooperate and comply with democratic rules. That willingness (or lack thereof) can be signaled by the presence of cooperative or conflict-precipitating events and actions in the periods around elections. We identify and analyze a variety of intra-elite interactions and demonstrate that conflict-precipitating events significantly increase the odds of a democratic retreat in the months before or just after an election, while cooperative events can balance them and prevent retreat. Using event data collected from 40 low- and middle-income countries for two-year periods around national elections between 1991 and 2007 we show that the imbalance of conflict-precipitating over cooperative events is far greater in cases of retreat from democracy. Furthermore, international intervention and pressure had a negative relationship with democratic stability. A logistic regression model accurately identified democratic retreat in 79 percent of the cases examined. Factor analysis revealed several common patterns of intra-elite conflict that can lead to democratic retreat, or conversely, patterns of cooperative events that bolster democratic consolidation. Finally, the data strongly argues for a model of democratic development that depends on open-ended elite maneuvering and the emergence of elite agreements, rather than a model where strong prior institutional constraints determine elite actions.

The author’s estimation of the reasons of growth of defects of democracy in Latvia is offered. Attention is drawn to the extent to which the political culture of Latvians corresponds to the values of liberal democracy.

The study examines the impact of democratic governance and corruption on electricity power supply in Nigeria. To achieve this goal, an integrated regression analysis such as Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares (DOLS), Fully Modified OLS, Canonical Cointegrating Regression and OLS were utilized to estimate data spanning the period of 1986 – 2020. The result revealed a negative and significant impact of democracy and corruption on electricity power generation in Nigeria. On the other hand, economic growth has shown a positive and important impact on electricity generation, suggesting that higher GDP growth will increase the supply of electricity in Nigeria. The implication of this findings are as follows: (i) one of the dividends of democracy which is providing public good to the citizens have not been achieved, as such, policymakers need to give more attention to the provision electricity supply; (ii) the institutions in charge of fighting corruption such as the Economic and Financial Crime Commissions (EFCC) need to be further strengthened in Nigeria.

Анотація:
The purpose of this study was to find how the effect of democratic leadership style on employee job satisfaction was. The object of the study was PT. Ciomas Adisatwa Palembang. This study used qualitative and quantitative methods consisting of two variables: democratic leadership style as an independent variable and employee job satisfaction as a dependent variable. The types of data used were primary and secondary data. Techniques for collecting the data were interview, observation, questionnaire, documentation and literature study. In analyzing the data, simple regression analysis and t-test were used. The result of the study showed that the democratic leadership style partially had a significant effect on employee job satisfaction. It could be seen from the R which was 0.626 that means there was a good correlation between the democratic leadership style and very good employee job satisfaction. In addition, the result of hypothesis testing through t-test also showed that the significance level was 0,000 which was greater than 0.05, and it means partially the democratic leadership style had a significant effect on employee job satisfaction.Keywords: Democratic leadership style, Employee job satisfaction, Humen resource management

Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of early childhood teachers' educational beliefs, reflective thinking, and teacher-young children interaction on the democratic classroom management. Methods For data collection, 310 early childhood teachers in Gyeonsangnamdo were surveyed by questionnaires about teachers’ educational beliefs, reflective thinking, teacher-young children interaction, and democratic classroom management from 1 Feb. 2023 to 28 Feb. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were used by SPSS 27.0. statistical program. Results First, early childhood teachers' educational beliefs, reflective thinking, teacher-young children interaction, and democratic classroom management were high level. Second, there were found some significant positive correlations among early childhood teachers’ educational beliefs, reflective thinking, teacher-young children interaction, and democratic classroom management. Third, early childhood teachers’ educational beliefs, reflective thinking, and teacher-young children interaction were found to influence on the democratic classroom management. Conclusions In order to promote early childhood teachers' democratic classroom management, it is important to increase the level of teaching beliefs, reflective thinking, and teacher-young children interaction is required to support this.

<p>This study intends to analyze the relation between school principals’ leadership styles and teachers’ perception of organizational cynicism. The study group consists of 268 participants teaching at high schools in the Balıkesir district of Turkey during 2014-2015 academic year. In the study, which used relational survey model, data was collected through Democratic Leadership Scale and Organizational Cynicism Scale and analyzed by mean scores, independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and simple linear regression. The results revealed that democratic leadership is a significant predictor of organizational cynicism, and it is negatively connected with organizational cynicism. In addition, it was found that there were significant differences between seniority and gender groups as regards democratic leadership, between seniority groups as regards all dimensions of organizational cynicism, and between gender as regards affective cynicism. All the results of the study showed that the democratic leadership style displayed by school principals influences the organizational cynicism perceived by teachers.</p>

This research purposes to determine the effect of democratic leadership style and work culture on employee performance, and which factors have the dominant influence. The type of research used is descriptive research using a quantitative approach. The sample used was 47 respondents, who were employees of PT AEL Indonesia in Sangatta, especially the field employee group. In this research, a non probably sampling technique was used, namely saturated sampling. The data analysis used is multiple linear regression analysis. The test results and analysis in this research show that the variables of democratic leadership style and work culture have a simultaneous or partial effect on employee performance, and the dominant influence is on the variable of democratic leadership style

The research method used in this research is quantitative. In this study, the population consisted of 60 employees of the Labuhanbatu Regency Regional Development Planning Agency. The research sample usesSampling technique is saturated by attracting the entire existing population to be used as a research samplea total of 60 people. Data collection techniques used were observation, documentation studies and questionnaires. The method of analysis of this research is multiple linear regression with the SPSS program. The research results prove that Democratic Leadership positive and significant effect on Employee Performance at the Regional Development Planning Board of Labuhanbatu Regency. Communication positive and significant effect on Employee Performance at the Regional Development Planning Board of Labuhanbatu Regency. Work Culture positive and significant effect on Employee Performance at the Regional Development Planning Board of Labuhanbatu Regency. Ability positive and significant effect on Employee Performance at the Regional Development Planning Board of Labuhanbatu Regency. Democratic Leadership, Communication, Work Culture And Capability simultaneously positive and significant effect on Employee Performance at the Regional Development Planning Board of Labuhanbatu Regency. The coefficient of determination is 0.732, meaning that employee performance can be explained by variables Democratic Leadership (X1), Communication (X2), Work Culture (X3) and Ability (X4) of 79.7%, while the remaining 20.3% can be explained by other variables not examined in this study.
