La degradación y erosión edáfica por cambios de uso suelo, disminuyen los contenidos de carbono y su calidad. Con el objetivo de identificar y reconocer los mejores indicadores de calidad edáfica y de relacionarla con sus contenidos de carbono orgánico, se realizó esta investigación en bosques de la Reserva de la Biósfera los Volcanes. Se seleccionaron 26 sitios distribuidos entre 2600 y 3800 m de altitud colectando muestras de suelo de 0 a -0.2 m para análisis físicos y químicos y entre 0 a -0.1 m para bioquímicos y biológicos. Los resultados mostraron como excelentes indicadores parciales para evaluar calidad del suelo (IpCS) al pH, porcentaje de arena; contenido gravimétrico de agua, carbono orgánico, Ca+2 y K+ intercambiables; carbono de biomasa microbiana y actividad fosfatasa ácida y presencia/abundancia de bacterias y algas. Con estos IpCS, se determinó aditiva y conmutativamente, calidad total del suelo (CSTsum y CSTmul) cuyas tendencias fueron similares, aunque el modelo aditivo, muestra mejor que bosques afectados y vegetación secundaria (2600 y 2700 m) tienen menor calidad edáfica, mientras que en la franja media (3000-3300 m) con bosques de Abies y mixto Abies-Pino, los suelos tuvieron mayores contenidos de carbono orgánico y altas CSTsum y CSTmul.

After the core-shell SiO2@TiO2 nanoparticles (CSTNs) were synthesized by hydrothermal method, we investigated the influence of different molar ratios of Ti/Si on morphology, structure, and photocatalytic activity of the CSTNs. It was found that the CSTNs showed different size and surface morphology as the Ti/Si molar ratio changed. Besides, the TiO2 and the CSTN had the anatase phase after hydrothermal process and calcination at 450°C for 2 h. The N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms demonstrated the CSTNs with the molar ratio of Ti/Si increased from 1 : 1 to 8 : 1 can be categorized as type IV with hysteresis loop of type H2 and showed to be mesoporous materials. In addition, the CSTNs with the Ti/Si molar ratio of 5 : 1 had the highest surface area of 176.79 m2/g. Surface charges showed the isoelectric point (IEP) of the CSTNs ranged between silica (IEP at pH 3.10) and titania (IEP at pH 5.29). Since the molar ratio of Ti/Si increased from 1 : 1 to 8 : 1 by degradating both colorless organic pollutant of phenol and colored substances of methylene blue (MB) under UV irradiation, the photocatalytic activity of CSTNs exhibited higher photodegradation efficiency compared with TiO2. What is more, the experimental results also showed the CSTNs with Ti/Si molar ratio of 5 : 1 had the highest photocatalytic activity and showed higher photocatalytic efficiency compared with other TiO2-SiO2 composites reported for photodegradation of phenol and MB.

A Conditional Simple Temporal Network (CSTN) is a structure for representing and reasoning about time in domains where temporal constraints may be conditioned on outcomes of observations made in real time. A CSTN is dynamically consistent (DC) if there is a strategy for executing its time-points such that all relevant constraints will necessarily be satisfied no matter which outcomes happen to be observed. The literature on CSTNs contains only one sound-and-complete DC-checking algorithm that has been implemented and empirically evaluated. It is a graph-based algorithm that propagates labeled constraints/edges. A second algorithm has been proposed, but not evaluated. It aims to speed up DC checking by more efficiently dealing with so-called negative q-loops.This paper presents a new two-phase approach to DC-checking for CSTNs. The first phase focuses on identifying negative q-loops and labeling key time-points within them. The second phase focuses on computing (labeled) distances from each time-point to a single sink node. The new algorithm, which is also sound and complete for DC-checking, is then empirically evaluated against both pre-existing algorithms and shown to be much faster across not only previously published benchmark problems, but also a new set of benchmark problems. The results show that, on DC instances, the new algorithm tends to be an order of magnitude faster than both existing algorithms. On all other benchmark cases, the new algorithm performs better than or equivalently to the existing algorithms.

In this paper, a novel cooperation space-time network coding (CSTNC) scheme based on multi-sources distributed cooperative network is considered. In this scheme, multiple sources transmit signals to relay and destination node. The relay re-encodes the decoded signals through space-time network coding with the aid of multiple antennas. The simulation shows that the BER, capacity and outage probability of the CSTNC becomes better with the increasing of relay antenna number and very close to traditional space-time network coding (TCSTC) scheme. Meanwhile, transmission efficiency analysis demonstrates that CSTNC scheme has higher transmission rate.

Cross-linked starch nanocrystals (CStN)/polylactic acid (PLA) nanocomposites were prepared by blending CStN and PLA, wherein CStN were homogeneously dispersed in the nanocomposites. The structure and morphology of the nanocomposites were studied through FTIR, XRD, and SEM. The results of mechanical test showed that the strength and toughness of the nanocomposites could be improved when the additive amount of hydrophobic CStN was 3% (weight ratio). Meanwhile, the microstructures of tensile fracture surface showed that CStN were uniformly dispersed in PLA matrix, and the tensile fracture surface was presented as ductile fracture. Moreover, water vapor permeability experiments illustrated that the addition of CStN reduced the water vapor permeability of PLA nanocomposites, so CStN have some resistance to water vapor. Those above indicated that CStN have functions of reinforcement and toughness in PLA matrix; therefore, they are expected to be used as functional additives in polymer matrix such as PLA, polycaprolactone (PCL), and polybutylene succinate (PBS).

Background: Administration of doxorubicin via bolus injection may result in environmental contamination and a risk of nurses becoming exposed. Small spills are frequently observed by nurses when syringes are connected to, and disconnected from, infusion lines. Aims: The effect of a closed-system drug transfer device (CSTD) on the release of doxorubicin was studied during administration via bolus injections. Methods: 10 administrations with the currently used technique and 10 administrations using the CSTD were compared by analysis of doxorubicin contamination on gauze pads, tissues and gloves. Findings: Using the current technique, contamination was found during nine administrations, which was mainly on the gauze pads and, to a lesser extent, on the tissues and gloves, indicating release of doxorubicin during administration. With use of the CSTD, contamination was found only on one pair of gloves. Conclusion: Use of a CSTD significantly decreased the number of spills and level of contamination compared with the currently used technique and, consequently, the use of such devices offers a safer working environment for nurses.

Background Even while following best practices, surface exposures of hazardous drugs (HDs) are high and numerous. Thus, it is important to develop new products to reduce the surface contamination of HDs. Hazardous Drug Clean (HDClean™) was developed to decontaminate and remove HDs from various types of surfaces and overcome the problems associated with other cleaning products. Methods HDClean was evaluated to remove mock surface exposures of HDs (docetaxel, paclitaxel, ifosfamide, cyclophosphamide, 5-FU, and cisplatin) from various types of surfaces. In two separate cancer centers, studies were performed to evaluate HDClean in reducing surface contamination of HDs in the pharmacy departments where no closed system transfer device (CSTD) was used. In a third cancer center, studies were performed comparing the effectiveness of a CSTD + Surface Safe compared with CSTD + HDClean to remove HDs. Results HDClean was able to completely remove mock exposures of a wide range of HDs from various surfaces (4 and 8 sq ft areas). Daily use of HDClean was equal to or more effective in reducing surface contamination of HDs in two pharmacies compared with a CSTD. HDClean was significantly more effective in removing HDs, especially cisplatin, compared with Surface Safe and does not have the problems associated with decontamination solutions that contain sodium hypochlorite. Conclusion These studies support HDClean as an effective decontaminating product, that HDClean is more effective than Surface Safe in removing HDs and is equal to or more effective than CSTD in controlling HD surface exposures.

Closed-system drug transfer devices (CSTDs) are used to prevent occupational exposure to hazardous drugs in health care providers. They are considered Class II medical devices by the US FDA and are cleared but not approved before marketing. While compatibility tests are conducted by CSTD manufacturers, the procuring institution needs to consider performing its own studies before buying these devices. Herein we tested the compatibility of the components of the Needleless® DualGuard CSTD system (vial access clips, vial access spikes, and administration adaptors) with 10 antineoplastic drugs, under simulated clinical conditions, including compounding and administration, and examined drug potency maintenance, plasticizer migration, and device functionality. All drugs maintained potency within 5%. Diisononyl phthalate leakage was observed from the administration adaptors for paclitaxel and concentrated etoposide solution. In addition, white particles were discovered in CSTDs storing busulfan solution and small cracks were observed on devices which stored melphalan. Thus, it was concluded that even in simulated clinical conditions, instead of extreme conditions, there are still concerns regarding the efficacy and safety of CSTD components. The methodology may be used to implement and detect possible interactions between antineoplastic agents and CSTD components before procurement.

Cumulative susceptibility test data (CSTD) are used to guide empirical antimicrobial therapy and to track trends in antibiotic resistance. The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute recommends reporting CSTD at least annually and sets the minimum number of isolates per reported organism at 30. To comply, many hospitals combine data from multiple intensive care units (ICUs); however, this may not be appropriate to guide empirical therapy because of variations in patient populations. In this study, susceptibility data for two different ICUs at a tertiary care hospital in Toronto, Canada, were used to create a traditional CSTD report, which combined data from different ICUs, and a rolling-average CSTD report, which pooled 2 years of data for each ICU separately. For simplicity, data for only the most common Gram-negative organisms (Escherichia coli,Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and the most relevant antibiotics (ciprofloxacin, piperacillin-tazobactam) were examined. With the rolling-average method, significant differences in susceptibility were seen between the ICUs in 50% of the organism-antimicrobial combinations. Furthermore, the 3% median year-over-year difference in susceptibilities seen for the 16 organism-antibiotic combinations by using the traditional method was lower than the 14% median difference seen for the 20 between-ICU within-year comparisons obtained using the rolling-average method. Changes in our selection of empirical antibiotics resulted from this revised approach, and our results suggest that pooling data from ICUs with different patient populations may not be appropriate. A rolling-average method may be an appropriate strategy for the creation of individual-unit CSTD reports.

Introduction Closed system transfer devices (CSTDs) are used to prepare and administer hazardous drugs. Previous studies have explored the vapor and fluid containment performance of CSTDs. A less obvious consideration is the effect of CSTD use on the intended dose for small volume administrations. We assessed six CSTDs to determine if they contribute to volume loss and delivery of less than the intended dose during simulated drug administration. Methods Using an analytical balance, we obtained the mass of each CSTD at four points during simulated drug preparation and subcutaneous administration using sterile water. We used the masses to determine the average volume loss ( VL) for each CSTD. Results Using ANOVA, we identified significant differences in volume loss ( VL) among the mean VL (F(6,59) = 18.45, p = 6.19 × 10−12) for the six CSTDs and control (no CSTD). Four CSTDs had a VL that was statistically different than the control (p < 0.05); the VL for two CSTDs was not statistically different than the control (p > 0.05). Volume loss did not depend on administration volume. Conclusion Volume loss performance varied among CSTDs. Volume loss may be clinically significant for small volumes but is not likely clinically significant for larger volumes. It is the authors’ opinion that 3 mL represents a reasonable administration threshold below which volume loss should be considered clinically significant. Users should consider volume loss in context of the tasks, drugs, users, and environments where CSTDs will be used. The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) General Chapter <800>: Hazardous Drugs–Handling in Healthcare Settings recognizes the lack of CSTD performance standards. USP <800> recommends independent performance evaluation of CSTDs based on peer-reviewed studies. Our study adds to the comparative performance evaluations of CSTDs available on the market at the time of this review.

A Conditional Simple Temporal Network (CSTN) includes time-points, temporal constraints, and observation time-points, whose execution yields information during run-time. Time-points and constraints in a CSTN may only apply in certain scenarios. A CSTN is dynamically consistent (DC) if it has a strategy for executing its time-points such that all relevant constraints will be satisfied no matter how the observations turn out. A dynamic strategy can react to observations in real time, but only after arbitrarily small, but positive delays. Recent work introduced a more realistic epsilon-DC property which, for a fixed epsilon>0, requires all reaction times to be bounded below by epsilon. That work presented an exponential algorithm for checking the epsilon-DC property by translating an exponential number of component networks into a Hyper Temporal Network. But it has not yet been implemented or empirically evaluated. This paper begins by presenting an alternative, equivalent semantics for epsilon-dynamic consistency. It then presents a sound-and-complete epsilon-DC-checking algorithm based on the propagation of labeled constraints. Finally, it presents an empirical evaluation of the new algorithm, the first empirical evaluation of any epsilon-DC-checking algorithm in the literature.

Le cancer du sein triple-négatif (CSTN), défini par l’absence d’expression des récepteurs hormonaux et d’HER2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor-2), représente 15 à 20 % des cancers du sein. Cependant, cette définition, essentiellement négative, masque la très grande hétérogénéité des entités biologiques qui constituent ce soustype. Si la chimiothérapie est le principal traitement systémique établi de la maladie à la fois dans la prise en charge des stades précoces et avancés, la compréhension progressive des composantes moléculaires impliquées dans la pathogenèse des CSTN permet des perspectives thérapeutiques novatrices. L’objectif de cette synthèse est de décrire ces cibles potentielles et d’explorer les traitements d’aujourd’hui et de demain qui permettront de lutter contre ce cancer au comportement particulièrement agressif.

Souhaitant nous intéresser aux manifestations linguistiques de l’émotion dans le CSTD, nous présentons dans cette étude un protocole de recherche basé sur la question de l’émotion, adapté à la nature de notre corpus. A partir de matchs de rugby de la coupe du monde 2007 et 2015, nous présentons les résultats des deux tests de perception qui nous ont permis, d’une part, d’identifier et caractériser l’émotion dans le commentaire sportif télévisé en direct, d’autre part, de déterminer l’importance du matériel prosodique dans la caractérisation de l’émotion dans ce type de corpus.

Tea is one of three major non-alcoholic beverages that are popular all around the world. The economic value of tea product largely depends on the post-harvest physiology of tea leaves. The utilization of quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction is a widely accepted and precise approach to determine the target gene expression of tea plants, and the reliability of results hinges on the selection of suitable reference genes. A few reliable reference genes have been documented using various treatments and different tissues of tea plants, but none has been done on post-harvest leaves during the tea manufacturing process. The present study selected and analyzed 15 candidate reference genes: Cs18SrRNA, CsGADPH, CsACT, CsEF-1α, CsUbi, CsTUA, Cs26SrRNA, CsRuBP, CsCYP, CselF-4α, CsMON1, CsPCS1, CsSAND, CsPPA2, CsTBP. This study made an assessment on the expression stability under two kinds of post-harvest treatment, turn over and withering, using three algorithms—GeNorm, Normfinder, and Bestkeeper. The results indicated that the three commonly used reference genes, CsTUA, Cs18SrRNA, CsRuBP, together with Cs26SrRNA, were the most unstable genes in both the turn over and withering treatments. CsACT, CsEF-1α, CsPPA2, and CsTBP were the top four reference genes in the turn over treatment, while CsTBP, CsPCS1, CsPPA2, CselF-4α, and CsACT were the five best reference genes in the withering group. The expression level of lipoxygenase genes, which were involved in a number of diverse aspects of plant physiology, including wounding, was evaluated to validate the findings. To conclude, we found a basis for the selection of reference genes for accurate transcription normalization in post-harvest leaves of tea plants.

Abstract Purpose The primary aim of this study was to investigate the accuracy of the volumetric method for intravenous (IV) preparations and explore the utility of gravimetric methods in the medication preparation process within multiple institutions. Secondary outcomes of this study were syringe size percent variations and impact on drug expenditures. Methods A prospective, noninterventional, multisite study was conducted between March 2015 and December 2016 to generate baseline estimates of accuracy and precision in the volumetric medication preparation process. Five hospitals in the United States were recruited for study participation. During the data collection process, technicians were required to measure the syringe at 3 different points: when the new empty syringe was connected to a closed-system transfer device (CSTD), when the filled syringe containing the prepared dose of medication was connected to a CSTD, and when the used syringe with residual medication was connected to a CSTD. The actual dose of drug dispensed (in mg) was divided by the specific gravity of the medication to determine the actual volume of medication dispensed. Results A total of 4,443 compounded sterile products representing 60 medications across 5 hospitals were eligible for the study. Of the evaluated preparations, 91.92% were within 5% of the prescribed dose and 96.56% were within 10% of the prescribed dose. The outliers ranged from –144.10% to 233.72%. Conclusion The potential for significant over- and undertreatment of an individual patient receiving IV chemotherapy exists, indicating the need for an additional measurement method, such as real-time gravimetric verification, to ensure an accurate dose is administered to every patient.

To investigate the energy evolution and storage characteristics of the rock during the mixed-mode fracture failure, several single loading-unloading tests under preset different unloading levels were conducted on the cracked straight-through Brazilian disc (CSTBD) red-sandstone specimen with crack inclination angles of 10° and 20°. The input energy, elastic energy, and dissipated energy parameters were obtained by calculating the area integral of the load-displacement curve. Test results display that the total input energy, elastic energy, and dissipated energy of rock specimens increase in quadratic function with the increase of unloading level at different unloading levels. It was found that there are significant linear energy storage and dissipation laws of rock during the mixed-mode fracture process. The concepts of fracture energy storage coefficient (FESC) and fracture energy dissipation coefficient (FEDC) were proposed to express the energy variation of rock in the prepeak stage. Under the same loading conditions, FESC and FEDC remain unchanged regardless of crack inclination angles, indicating that the linear energy storage and dissipation laws are an inherent property of the rock. Besides, the peak fracture elastic-dissipation index W ed (the ratio of peak elastic energy to peak dissipation energy) was obtained through quantitative analysis and demonstrated its invariant feature.

This paper evaluates the stress intensity factors (SIFs) at the crack tips, predicts the crack initiation angles and simulates the crack propagation path in the two-dimensional cracked anisotropic materials using the single-domain boundary element method (SDBEM) combined with maximum circumferential stress criterion. Numerical examples of the application of the formulation for different crack inclination angles, crack lengths, degree of material anisotropy, and crack types are presented. Furthermore, the propagation path in Cracked Straight Through Brazilian Disc (CSTBD) specimen is numerically predicted and the results of numerical and experimental data compared with the actual laboratory observations. Good agreement is found between the two approaches. The proposed BEM formulation is therefore suitable to simulate the process of crack propagation. Additionally, the anisotropic rock slope failure initiated by the tensile crack can also be analyzed by the proposed crack propagation simulation technique.

Siamese trackers have achieved a good balance between accuracy and efficiency in generic object tracking. However, background distractors cause side effects to the discriminative representation of the target. To suppress the sensitivity of trackers to background distractors, we propose a Double Branch Attention (DBA) block and a Siamese tracker equipped with the DBA block named DBA-Siam. First, the DBA block concatenates channels of multiple layers from two branches of the Siamese framework to obtain rich feature representation. Second, the channel attention is applied to the two concatenated feature blocks to enhance the robust features selectively, thus enhancing the ability to distinguish the target from the complex background. Finally, the DBA block collects the contextual relevance between the Siamese branches and adaptively encodes it into the feature weight of the detection branch for information compensation. Ablation experiments show that the proposed block can enhance the discriminative representation of the target and significantly improve the tracking performance. Results on two popular benchmarks show that DBA-Siam performs favorably against its counterparts. Compared with the advanced algorithm CSTNet, DBA-Siam improves the EAO by 18.9% on VOT2016.

Tujuan Mengetahui hubungan Penggunaan Sabun Pembersih Vagina Dengan Kejadian Keputihan Pada Wanita Usia Subur Di Kelurahan Kasiguncu Kecamatan Poso Pesisir Kabupaten Poso. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah observasional cstudi Populasi adalah Semua Wanita Usia Subur dengan keputihan. Besar sampel adalah 120 responden dengan menggunakan teknik Purposive sampling Variabel Independen penelitian adalah sabun pembersih vagina. Variabel dependen adalah Keputihan Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner, kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi Square dengan tingkat signifikansi α ≤ 0,05. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki menggunakan sabun pembersih vagina sebanyak 77 responden (64,2%), dan keputihan sebanyak 79 responden (65,8%). Uji statistik pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji chi-square dengan a< 0,05 didapatkan p=0,000 dimana H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak yang berarti bahwa terdapat ada hubungan Penggunaan Sabun Pembersih Vagina Dengan Kejadian Keputihan Pada Wanita Usia Subur Di Kelurahan Kasiguncu Kecamatan Poso Pesisir Kabupaten Poso. Transportation systems are of great importance to the development of a country and are important indicators of its economic growth With 30 per cent of Chinese trade carried by sea and with 90 percent of world trade carried by sea, the global network of merchant ships provides one of the most important modes of transportation. Here, we use information about the itineraries of 187260 ships during the year 2010 to construct a network of links between ports. The network has several features that set it apart from other transportation networks are shown. In particular, most ships can be classified into three categories: bulk dry carriers, container ships and oil &LNG gas tankers. These three categories do not only differ in the ships’ physical characteristics, but also in their mobility patterns and networks. Container ships follow regularly repeating paths whereas bulk dry carriers and oil tankers move less predictably between ports. The network of all ship movements possesses a heavy-tailed distribution for the connectivity of ports and for the loads transported on the links with systematic differences between ship types. The data analyzed in this paper improve current assumptions based on gravity models of ship movements, an important step towards understanding patterns of global trade. We also study the traffic flow of Chinese ship-transport networks (CSTN) based on the weighted network representation, and demonstrate the weight distribution can be described by power-law or exponential function depending on the assumed definition of network topology. Other features related to Chinese ship-transport networks (CSTN) are also investigated.

Based 011 the hourly BT and six hourly CSTD data, collected from two stations in the western Bay of Bengal during July 1979, the diurnal variations of temperature in the oceanic mixed layer (OML) were analysed as a function of the prevailing surface layer conditions of the overlying atmosphere. Structure of O~[L, as delineated with respect to the diurnal variation of temperature with depth, revealed three sub-.layers : wave mixed, diurnal thermocline and transition layer. The first two sub-layers of OML showed immediate responses to the changes in surface meteorological forcings. Surface were mixing, convective activity and internal waves were found to be the main physical processes to effect the thickness of wave mixed, diurnal thermocline and transition layer respectively.
