Abstract Students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are routinely excluded from algebra and other high-level mathematics courses. High school students with IDD take courses in arithmetic and life skills rather than having an opportunity to learn algebra. Yet algebra skills can support the learning of money and budgeting skills. This study explores the feasibility of algebra instruction for adults with IDD through an experimental curriculum. Ten individuals with IDD participated in a 6-week course framing mathematics concepts within the context of everyday challenges in handling money. The article explores classroom techniques, discusses student strategies, and proposes possible avenues for future research analyzing mathematics instructional design strategies for individuals with IDD.

Abstract Abstract 871 Background: Children with relapsed ALL are at a high risk for treatment failure and require improvement of induction and consolidation therapy. Subsequent ALL-REZ BFM trials have been conducted with the aim to define risk factors and to determine adequate intensity and duration of therapy, risk-adapted SCT indication and preventive/therapeutic CNS irradiation. Short course high intensity multiagent chemotherapy elements (R-courses) have been developed as standard of care consolidation therapy of relapsed childhood ALL in countries using ALL-REZ BFM protocols. A conventionally dosed, anthracycline-containing reinduction regimen, termed “Protocol II”, which has resulted in a striking improvement of outcomes in patients with primary ALL treated with BFM protocols, may also be considered as effective consolidation therapy of relapsed childhood ALL. Aim of the study: The multi-centre prospective randomized study ALL-REZ BFM 2002 was designed to compare the efficacy and toxicity of R-courses and Protocol II-Idarubicin (Prot II-IDA) as post-induction therapy in children with relapsed ALL. Patients and methods: A total of 538 children and adolescents aged 1–18 years with first relapse of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia were enrolled in approximately 100 hospitals in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Toronto, Canada. 420 patients (78%) were randomized to receive either Prot II-IDA or R-courses as post-induction therapy after uniform induction with F1/2 courses. Further treatment was stratified according to risk groups S1-4: Patients in group S1 (late isolated extramedullary relapse) received 3 more R-courses, local irradiation and maintenance chemotherapy. Patients in group S3/4 (early and very early precursor B cell and any T cell bone marrow relapse) received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) from any donor. Patients in group S2 (intermediate risk, all others) were stratified according to the level of minimal residual disease (MRD) in the bone marrow after induction therapy, measured with a PCR-based, centrally reviewed assay: MRD good responders (<10e-3) received 5 additional R-courses followed by maintenance chemotherapy. MRD poor responders (≥10e-3) went on to HSCT from a well matched allogeneic donor. Results: 210 patients were allocated to Prot II-IDA course and 210 patients were allocated to R-courses. The randomized groups were well-balanced with respect to relevant clinical parameters including the proportion of patients receiving stem cell transplantation. The estimated 5-year probabilities of event-free survival (pEFS) of the two randomized groups (Prot II-IDA: 0.60 ± 0.04 vs. R-courses: 0.53 ± 0.04, P = 0.30) and overall survival (pOS, Prot II-IDA: 0.69 ± 0.04 vs. R-courses: 0.63 ± 0.04, P = 0.46) were not significantly different. However, the cumulative incidence of subsequent relapse was significantly lower in the Prot II-IDA arm (0.21 ± 0.01) compared to patients treated with R-courses (0.30 ± 0.01, p = 0.03). Treatment-related mortality was mainly associated with HSCT and not different in both arms (0.05 vs. 0.03). Whereas hematological toxicity was higher with Prot II-IDA, more patients suffered from mucositis with R-courses. Conclusion: More than 50% of children with relapsed ALL could be cured with the ALL-REZ BFM 2002 strategy. Post-induction therapy with Protocol II-IDA was associated with fewer subsequent relapses compared to R-courses. Toxicity was acceptable and EFS/OS probabilities were not different in both study arms. Protocol II-IDA will be taken forward as standard post-induction therapy in future ALL-REZ BFM trials. Disclosures: No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

OBJECTIVE: Patients with core binding factor (CBF) AML generally have a favorable prognosis, but the appropriate intensity of chemotherapy and number of courses are still key points for further exploration by the different leukemic group. Our prospective multicenter clinical study was designed to use high intensity, 4-courses of chemotherapy (backbone of MRC AML 15 protocol) to treat childhood CBF-AML and to observe the feasibility and effectiveness in China. METHODS: Total of 101 children with CBF-AML from 9 centers of south of China were enrolled on the C-HUANAN Children AML 2015 protocol from 2015.1 to 2018.11, accounting for 30.6% of total AML (non-APL) cases. There were 59 boys and 42 girls, aged between 2- 14 years old. The diagnosis of CBF-AML was established by PCR-based detection of RUNX1-RUNX1T1 and CBFβ-MYH11 fusion gene transcripts or by FISH based detection of t(8;21) and inv(16) aberration, respectively. Nine cases were combined with FTL3-ITD. Eleven cases were combined with ASXL1 mutation, and 23 cases were combined with c-KIT mutation. The induction regimen were non-randomized to DAE group and FLAG-IDA group. The induction regimen of DAE group including coures 1 (DAE 3+5+10), course 2 (DAE 3+5+8) . The induction regimen of FLAG-IDA including two courses of FLAG-IDA. Consolidation treatment was same and consisted of 2 courses: 1.HAE or MACE; 2.MidAC. Follow-up observation was then started after 4 courses of treatment. All of patients were followed-up to 06/30/2019, median follow-up time was 25 months. RESULTS: The overall complete remission rate was 93.1% after two courses of induction, 93.8% in the DAE group and 92.8% in the FLAG-IDA group. There was no statistical difference between the two groups. The MRD negative rate (<0.1%) detected by the flow cytometry after first course was 57/87 (65.5%) and 67/77 (87.0%) after second course respectively. The RUNX1-RUNX1T1 or CBFβ-MYH11 gene negative rate was 28/60 (46.7%) and 25/43 (58.1%) after first course and second course of treatment respectively .The overall survival rate (OS) was 83.2%, and the leukemia-free survival rate was 81.1%.Among them, the OS and LFS of the DAE group were 76.4% and 73.2%, respectively, and the OS and LFS of the FLAG-IDA group were 86.3% and 84.6%, respectively( P= 0.331 and 0.241).The OS and LFS of the RUNX1-RUNX1T1 group were 81.8% and 79.2%, respectively. The OS and LFS of the CBFβ/MYH11 group were both 88.9%( P= 0.542 and 0.403). The OS and LFS in CBF-AML with FLT3-ITD positive were both 62.2%. The OS and LFS in CBF-AML without FLT3-ITD were 85.3% and 82.9%, respectively (P=0.045 and 0.081),there was significantly inferior OS in CBF-AML with FLT3-ITD subgroup. Among them, the OS was 60.0% and 85.9% in RUNX1-RUNX1T1 with or without FLT3-ITD group respectively( P=0.041), there was significantly inferior OS in RUNX1-RUNX1T1 with FLT3-ITD subgroup. There were no significant differences in OS and LFS between the CBF with or without C-kit and ASXL1 genes. The overall relapse was 10.9%, and treatment related mortality was 6.9%. Conclusion: The childhood CBF-AML accounted for 30.6% of children's newly diagnosed AML in the South China Children's AML Group. The complete remission rate reached to 93.1% by using 2 courses of intensive induction regimen of DAE or FLAG-IDA. Only 2 courses of consolidation chemotherapy were administered. Two years OS and LFS were higher than 80%.There were significant difference in OS of CBF-AML with FLT3-ITD, and RUNX1-RUNX1T1 AML with FLT3-ITD. There were no significant differences in that of LFS. The overall LFS was close to the outcome of the MRC AML 15 protocol, but there was a gap in OS. The main reason was that the most of relapsed patients abandoned treatment. On other hand the treatment related mortality need to be further reduced. Figure Disclosures No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

BLV (blind low vision) students face difficulties when taking coding classes. Individual Development Environments (IDE) can be inaccessible which make it difficult if not impossible for BLV students to complete coursework. Alternative techniques are described which will allow a BLV student to successfully complete coursework. The author has found the Command Line Interface (CLI) is often a recommended alternative to a Windows based IDE interface. Many blind computer programmers use the Windows and Linux command interfaces which are described as part of this discussion.

Learning outcomes This case will help students to understand the following: Develop a basic understanding of competency building processes. Learn about the mentoring process and its application in leadership development. Develop awareness about the methodology for assessment of the effectiveness of training. Case overview/synopsis Dr A. R. K. Pillai founded the Indian Leprosy Foundation in 1970 in response to the national call by late Mrs Indira Gandhi, prime minister of India, to the public-spirited people to take up leprosy eradication. It collaborated with international agencies to reduce leprosy drastically in India from four million, in 1982 to around a hundred thousand cases in 2006. In 2006, the Indian Leprosy Foundation was renamed as Indian Development Foundation (IDF) as the trustees decided to expand the work of IDF in the areas of health, children’s education and women’s empowerment. Dr Narayan Iyer, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IDF initiated a leadership development intervention called the Students’ leadership programme (SLP) for children in the age group of 12 to 14, from the urban poor households in 2014. It was a structured mentoring programme spanning over three months in collaboration with the schools. It aimed at incubating skills in the areas of leadership, teamwork, personality, behavioural traits and provided career guidance. It had a humble beginning in 2014 with a coverage of 50 students. Initially, IDF welcomed executives from the corporate sector as mentors. As there was a need to rapidly expand the scope of SLP to the other cities of India, IDF tied up with the graduate colleges and invited the students to be the mentors. The other objective behind this move was to create social awareness among the students from more affluent strata of society. IDF was able to dramatically increase the participation of the students through SLP by approximately up to 100,000 by 2020. However, rapid progress threw up multiple challenges. The teachers complained about the non-availability of the students for regular classes to teach the syllabus as the students were busy with SLP. The schools forced IDF to shorten the duration of SLP to two months. Also, many undergraduate mentors were unable to coach the participants due to lack of maturity and found wanting to strike a rapport with them. There was a shortage of corporate executives who volunteered for the mentoring, due to work pressures. Dr Narayan, CEO & National Coordinator and Ms Mallika Ramchandran, the project head of SLP at IDF, were worried about the desired impact of SLP on the participants and its sustainability due to these challenges. So, with the support of Dr Narayan, she initiated a detailed survey to assess the ground-level impact of SLP. The objective was to get clarity about what was working for SLP and what aspects needed to improve, to make the programme more effective. Overall feedback from the survey was very positive. The mothers had seen very positive changes in the participants’ behaviour post-SLP. The teachers had specific concerns about the effectiveness of undergraduate mentors. The need for a refresher course to inculcate ethical behaviour and the inadequacy of the two-month duration of the SLP to reinforce values were highlighted. Respondents also voiced the requirement to build responsible citizenship behaviours among the participants. Mallika was all for preparing a model to further enhance the effectiveness of SLP. Dr Narayan and Mallika embraced the challenge and they were raring to go to develop SLP as a cutting-edge leadership programme and to take it to new heights. Complexity academic level This case can be used in courses on human resource management in postgraduate and graduate management programmes. It can also be used in the general and development management courses and during executive education programmes to teach methodologies for evaluating the effectiveness of the training interventions, with emphasis on the voluntary sector. Supplementary materials Teaching notes are available for educators only. Subject code CSS 6: Human Resource Management.

Purpose Randomized comparisons of idarubicin (IDA) with daunorubicin (DNR) show that in adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), IDA achieves higher remission rates and longer remission durations. In Children's Cancer Group Pilot Study CCG-2941, we assessed toxicity and feasibility of substituting 4 mg of DNR with 1 mg of IDA in intensive-timing daunorubicin-based induction therapy (DNR/DNR) used in CCG-2891. Patients and Methods On days 1 through 3 and 10 through 14, patients received two courses of dexamethasone, cytarabine, 6-thioguanine, etoposide, and IDA (IDA/IDA). After enrollment of 65 patients, toxicity prompted replacement of IDA with DNR (IDA/DNR) on days 10 through 14 for the remaining 28 patients. Outcomes were compared with those of intensive timing in CCG-2891. Results Treatment-related mortality after two courses of induction was not significantly different among the three regimens: 14% with IDA/IDA, 7% with IDA/DNR, and 9% with DNR/DNR. In course 1 of CCG-2941 IDA/IDA, 11% of patients withdrew compared with 1.5% in CCG-2891 (P < .001) and 5% in CCG-2941 IDA/DNR (P = not significant). Compared with CCG-2891 DNR/DRN, CCG-2941 IDA/IDA increased days in hospital (43 v 36 days; P = .007), mean duration of course 1 by a week (P = .002), and risk of grade 3 or 4 hyperbilirubinemia (18% v 5%; P = .02). Toxicity of IDA/DNR was not different from that of DNR/DNR in CCG-2891. The mean day 7 marrow blast percentage was 11.4% in CCG-2941 versus 21.1% in CCG-2891 (P = .004). Remission induction, survival, and event-free survival rates were not significantly different from those of CCG-2891. Conclusion In CCG-2941, excessive toxicity and withdrawals outweighed potential benefits of early response with IDA.

Abstract Higher education programs for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) offer opportunities to engage in college experiences including access to typical college courses. The purpose of the present study was to examine data from federally funded programs in order to describe and identify predictors of inclusive course enrollments. Data on 672 first-year students with IDD who enrolled in 3,233 inclusive college courses were analyzed. Significant predictors were the age of the student, whether the student attended a program that offered access to regular student advising or provided an official transcript, whether the student took any specialized courses, and whether the student had a paid job or participated in particular career development experiences. Implications for higher education programs are discussed.

Purpose Treatment outcomes in younger patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) have improved, but optimization and new combinations are needed. We assess three combinations in induction and consolidation. Patients and Methods Younger untreated patients with AML (median age, 49 years; range, 0 to 73 years) were randomly allocated to two induction courses of daunorubicin and cytarabine (DA) with or without etoposide (ADE; n = 1983) or ADE versus fludarabine, cytarabine, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, and idarubicin (FLAG-Ida; n = 1268), and to amsacrine, cytarabine, etoposide, and then mitoxantrone/cytarabine (MACE-MidAC) or high-dose cytarabine (n = 1,445) 3 g/m2 or 1.5 g/m2 (n = 657) in consolidation, and finally to a fifth course (cytarabine) or not (n = 227). Results Overall remission rates were similar for DA versus ADE (84% v 86%; P = .14) and ADE versus FLAG-Ida (86% v 85%; P = .7), with more course 1 remissions after FLAG-Ida (77%) reducing relapse (38% v 55%; P < .001) and improving relapse-free survival (45% v 34%; P = .01), overall and in subgroups, but with increased myelosuppression, reducing participation in the consolidation randomization. Overall outcomes were similar between MACE/MidAc and high-dose cytarabine (1.5/3.0 g/m2), but cytarabine required less supportive care. MACE/MidAc was superior for high-risk patients. A fifth course provided no benefit. The outcome for recipients of only two FLAG-Ida courses were not different from that with DA/ADE with consolidation. Conclusion FLAG-Ida is an effective remission induction treatment, with a high complete remission rate after course 1 and reduced relapse. Consolidation with MACE/MidAc is similar overall to high-dose cytarabine, but superior in high-risk patients. Cytarabine at 1.5 g/m2 is equivalent to a 3 g/m2 dose. A fifth course is unnecessary. In patients receiving FLAG-Ida (two courses) and cytarabine (two courses), 8-year survival was 63% for patients with intermediate-risk and 95% for those with favorable-risk disease.

The large number of courses offered in universities and online studies made it difficult for students to choose the courses that suit their interests and career goals, which led students to lose many opportunities to be employed in the job they wanted. To keep pace with the rapid development of technology, and instead of relying on the job title as was previously done, the employers began to identify the skills required for a job. The competencies of the candidates are then examined and evaluated according to those requirements. Thus, it has become necessary for students to take courses that suit their future professional interests, ensuring that they are employed in the job they desire and supporting their long-term career success. Fortunately, the emergence of skills-based employment has provided an opportunity for universities and colleges to create a clearer path to the courses offered to allow students to take courses that match their future career interests. In this study, we used K-Mean clustering algorithm, TF-idf approach, and content-based filtering algorithm to provide relevant courses for students based on the required job with an explanation of why these courses are recommended. Our result illustrates that our method offers many advantages compared with other recommender systems. our system converts a simple course recommendation into a tool for discovering skills. Since many recommendation systems work as black boxes, we designed our system to recommend the relevant course with explaining why these courses are recommended, which will add a factor of transparency to our system and confirms the reliability of the system to the students.

The Integrating Data Analysis (IDA) approach to undergraduate education developed by the American Sociological Association (ASA) and the Social Science Data Analysis Network (SSDAN) has been embedded in the undergraduate sociology curriculum at Lehman College, The City University of New York (CUNY), since 2003. This study draws on student and faculty assessment data from the fall 2004 and spring 2006 semesters to evaluate the effectiveness of this initiative. The results show that students in courses with an IDA component significantly improved their performance on quantitative skills tests. Efforts to engage students in active learning through the use of computers were associated with increased student comfort and greater interest in working with data. In turn, students who were comfortable working with data exhibited especially high levels of quantitative skill. Although students who were taught a wide variety of data analysis skills reported greater interest in working with data, those who were taught a more limited range of skills achieved higher performance scores. Likewise, students who were required to complete assignments and undertake graded examinations that tested a wide range of quantitative skills had less interest in working with data but achieved greater improvements in their test scores.

Sentiment classification gains a lot of attention nowadays. For a university, the knowledge obtained from classifying sentiments of student learning in courses is highly valuable, and can be used to help teachers improve their teaching skills. In this research, sentiment classification based on text embedding is applied to enhance the performance of sentiment classification for Thai teaching evaluation. Text embedding techniques considers both syntactic and semantic elements of sentences that can be used to improve the performance of the classification. This research uses two approaches to apply text embedding for classification. The first approach uses fastText classification. According to the results, fastText provides the best overall performance; its highest F-measure was at 0.8212. The second approach constructs text vectors for classification using traditional classifiers. This approach provides better performance over TF-IDF for k-nearest neighbors and naïve Bayes. For naïve Bayes, the second approach yields the best performance of geometric mean at 0.8961. The performance of TF-IDF is better suited to using decision tree than the second approach. The benefit of this research is that it presents the workflow of using text embedding for Thai teaching evaluation to improve the performance of sentiment classification. By using embedding techniques, similarity and analogy tasks of texts are established along with the classification.

e601 Background: Several studies have reported that intraductal carcinoma of the prostate (IDC-P) was a pathological adverse prognostic factor in patients with prostate cancer; however, there have been no reports regarding the effect of chemotherapy on survival for this group of patients. This study assessed the effect of chemotherapy on survival in patients with IDC-P. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 150 prostate cancer patients who were initially diagnosed with distant metastases from June 2002 to January 2014 at the authors’ affiliated hospitals. All needle biopsy slides were reviewed by a single genitourinary pathologist according to the 2014 International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) grading system. Exclusion criteria were patients with missing data and those receiving local treatment. Seventy-nine patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) were analyzed. Study endpoints included cancer-specific survival after starting chemotherapy and survival duration from diagnosis of CRPC to cancer-related death. Log-rank test and the Cox proportional hazard model were used for statistical analysis. Results: The patients’ median age was 70 years (range 50–85 years). The median serum prostate-specific antigen level at initial diagnosis was 495.0 ng/mL (range 12.6–10,000). IDC-P was found in 62 out of 79 cases. Forty-six patients received docetaxel-based chemotherapy. Patients received a median of seven chemotherapy courses (range 1–55 courses). The cancer-specific survival duration after starting chemotherapy was 16.7 months in patients with IDC-P and 23.4 months in patients without IDC-P (P = 0.068). Chemotherapy could significantly extend survival duration from diagnosis of CRPC in patients with IDC-P (18.4 months vs. 4.4 months, P = 0.001) Conclusions: Although the effect of chemotherapy may be limited in patients with IDC-P, it significantly extended the time from diagnosis of castration-resistant disease to cancer-related death.

Many of the software security vulnerabilities that people face today can be remediated through secure coding practices. A critical step toward the practice of secure coding is ensuring that our computing students are educated on these practices. We argue that secure coding education needs to be included across a computing curriculum. We are examining an approach that complements traditional classroom instruction by turning the student’s integrated development environment into an educational resource for secure coding instruction. In this article, we report on two formative and one summative study using our tool Educational Security in the Integrated Development Environment (ESIDE) in early and intermediate computer science programming courses. Our results support the viability of this approach to increase secure programming knowledge and awareness of students and also to identify several challenges for maximizing the learning opportunities within programming courses.

Abstract Most youth in transition services with labels of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) have poorer employment outcomes than their peers with other or without disabilities. One alternative approach to address this challenge provides youth with IDD access to transition services in the context of a college or university campus. College-based transition services (CBTS) provide students with IDD access to college courses, internships, and employment during their final 2 to 3 years of secondary education. A quasi-experimental design evaluation of one college-based transition services model, Think College Transition, found that, after controlling for student baseline scores, the college-based transition services had a significant effect on students' scores of self-determination at post-test. Implications for further refining the model are discussed.

As in other STEM disciplines, early computing courses tend to stress individual assignments and discourage collaboration. This can lead to negative learning experiences that compel some students to give up. According to social learning theory, one way to improve students’ learning experiences is to help them form and participate actively in vibrant social learning communities. Building on social learning theory, we have designed a set of software interventions (scaffolds and prompts) that leverage automatically collected learning process data to promote increased social interactions and better learning outcomes in individual programming assignments, which are a key component of early undergraduate computing courses. In an empirical study, we found that students’ interaction with the interventions was correlated with increased social activity, improved attitudes toward peer learning, more closely coupled social networks, and higher performance on programming assignments. Our work contributes a theoretically motivated technological design for social programming interventions; an understanding of computing students’ willingness to interact with the interventions; and insights into how students’ interactions with the interventions are associated with their social behaviors, attitudes, connectedness with others in the class, and their course outcomes.

Aivoverenkiertohäiriö (AVH) aiheuttaa usein pitkäaikaisia tai pysyviä toimintarajoitteita, kuten vaikeuksia liikkumisessa, itsestä huolehtimisessa ja kommunikaatiossa. Nyt raportoitava tutkimus on Kelan AVH:n sairastaneille järjestämien kuntoutuskurssien toimivuutta selvittävän tutkimuksen osatutkimus. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää Kelan painokevennetyn kävelyn, käden tehostetun käytön ja kommunikaatioon painottuvien AVH-kuntoutuskurssien osallistujien tavoitteiden asettamista ja tavoitteiden toteutumista. Tutkimukseen osallistui 49 AVH-kuntoutujaa, joista 14 osallistui painokevennetyn kävelyn, 16 käden tehostetun käytön ja 19 kommunikaatioon painottuvalle AVH-kurssille. Tutkimuksessa analysoitiin GAS-menetelmällä laaditut Omat tavoitteeni -lomakkeet. AbstractRehabilitation goals and their linking to the ICF in subjects with strokeStroke often causes long-term or permanent functional limitations, such as difficulties in moving, taking care of oneself, and communicating. This study forms a part of a wider research project evaluating stroke rehabilitation courses organized by The Social Insurance Institute of Finland. The purpose of this article is to investigate how participants of courses focused on body weight supported walking training, constraint-induced movement therapy for upper limbs and communication set goals, and how these goals are realized. The study included 49 subjects with stroke, of whom 14 participated in body weight supported walking training, 16 in constraint-induced movement therapy for upper limbs, and 19 in communication-focused courses. The goals set by the participants using Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS) method were analyzed. The overall and specific goals were analyzed for their relevant concepts, and they were mapped to the ICF classification. Of the mapped ICF categories, both frequencies within the three course formats and the setting of overall and specific goals for different classification stages of the ICF classification were examined. The achievement of the goals was assessed using the T-value of the GAS method. In rehabilitation courses focused on body weight supported walking training and constraint-induced movement therapy for upper limbs, the overall goals were mapped to the activities and participation. In the communication-focused course they were additionally mapped to body functions. The mapping of the overall goals in the ICF classification focused on walking, upper limb use, and communication, in line with the course priorities. In a few of the cases the overall goals were not set, and in some cases the goal was so general that it was mapped to the activities and participation component. The specific goals were mainly hierarchical, so that theys were on the same or more precise level than the overall goal of the ICF classification. In some cases, the overall goal and the specific goal(s) did not match. A few overall or specific goals contained two relevant concepts, which affected the mapping and may have made it difficult to assess the achievement of the objective. Half of the participants with body weight supported walking training, constraint-induced movement therapy for upper limbs, and 79% of the participants in the communication-focused rehabilitation achieved or exceeded their rehabilitation goals. Setting concrete and achievable and logically progressing goals requires additional training in the use of GAS method. The benefit of mapping the goals to the ICF classification is that it helps analyzing in which functional area, and/or the more specific functional sub-area, is the focus of the rehabilitation. The study highlights the importance of setting rehabilitation goals with people recovering from stroke. The study identified areas of development, that could be used to clarify and structure the joint work of the rehabilitee and the rehabilitation professional in goal-setting and achievement. The results can be generalized to the target group of subjects that have experienced a sudden brain injury as adults, especially to subjects with stroke. Abstract Many siblings anticipate fulfilling caregiving roles for their brothers and sisters with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Given these roles and the importance of supported decision making, it is crucial to understand how individuals with IDD and their siblings make decisions. Using dyadic interviews, we examined the perspectives of nine sibling dyads (N = 18) about decision making in relation to self-determination, independent living, and employment. The ages of participants ranged from 19 to 57. Data were analyzed using constant comparative analysis to identify themes. Decision making was characterized by: parents and siblings primarily identifying courses of action; the probability of respective consequences based on the person-environment fit; and the role of the sibling in making the final decision. Characteristics related to the individual with IDD, the family, the sibling, and the environment impacted decision making. Individuals with IDD were more likely to make their own decisions about leisure activities; however, siblings were more likely to make formal decisions for their brothers and sisters.

The COVID-19 pandemic has a major impact on all business sectors, this can be evidenced by the soaring number of layoffs and cuts in labor wages in various companies. Ida Fauziyah (2021) stated that Indonesia's unemployment rate during the Covid-19 pandemic increased 4.9% to 7% or 9.7 million people. Therefore, business actors need to make effective and efficient business policies, including the Human Resource Department, which has the task of making employment policies within the company effectively and efficiently. The compensation system, work discipline, and work motivation are some of the urgent tasks of HRD during this COVID-19 pandemic. At PT. Borwita Citra Prima there are phenomena that indicate that the courier at the company is suspected of lacking good work motivation, from some of the data collected it is suspected that the source of the problem is the compensation system and work discipline of the courier in the company. On this basis, the researcher aims to obtain information about the effect of the compensation system and work discipline on the work motivation of couriers at PT. Borwita Citra Prima Surabaya. This study uses primary data obtained from respondents' answers (all couriers) in the company. To meet the research objectives, the researchers distributed a total of 60 questionnaires. Regarding the analysis, the researcher used the partial least square method with the help of PLS software. From this research, two conclusions are obtained, the first is that the compensation system affects work motivation significantly (positively) with path coefficients of 0.270074, and the T-statistic value of 3.104459. The second is that work discipline affects work motivation significantly (positively) with path coefficients of 0.565998, and a T-statistic value of 7.515237.

Abstract Abstract 484 On behalf of the NCRI AML Working Group, United Kingdom There is a general acceptance that survival in younger patients (<60 years) with AML has improved over the last 20 years, the majority still fail treatment. While the induction rate is satisfactory at >75% relapse remains a problem. Optimisation of induction and defining the schedule and duration of post-induction chemotherapy remains important even as novel approaches such as antibody directed therapy or small molecule therapy are added. The MRC AML15 compared 3 induction chemotherapy schedules and 4 post induction options. In induction patients were randomised to two course of DA or ADE or FLAG-Ida. In each case patients were also eligible to be randomised to receive Gemtuzumab Ozogamicin (GO) or not, which has been separately reported. In consolidation patients were randomised to MRC schedule (MACE/MidAC) or two courses of High Dose Ara-C and for those randomised to Ara-C to a dose of 3g/m2 or 1.5g/m2. Finally patients could be randomised to receive, or not, a 5th course comprising Ara-C. Between October 2002 and January 2009, 1982 patients were randomised between DA (n=994) and ADE (n=988); up to May 2007, patients could also be randomised to FLAG-Ida; the randomised comparison with ADE recruited 1266 patients (FLAG-Ida n=635, ADE n=631). For part of the trial patients could be randomised to GO or not (306 patients in the DA v ADE and 297 in the FLAG-Ida v ADE comparisons were randomised). The median age of patients in the randomised comparisons was 49 years. Overall the ORR was 85% (CR 80%, CRi 5%) and the OS at 5 years is 43%. The randomisations were balanced for age, sex, performance status, de Novo/secondary disease, cytogenetics, white cell count, and GO allocation. With the exception of a suggestion of greater benefit on ORR with FLAG-Ida among patients given GO, overall outcomes were not affected by GO treatment. In consolidation 1445 patients were randomised between MRC (n=723) and HD Ara-C (n=722). Of the 723 Ara-C patients, 328 were randomised to 3g/m2 and 329 to 1.5g/m2: 227 of the 1619 patients who received 4 courses were randomised for a 5th course with 112 allocated 5 courses. Conclusions: There were no significant differences in the response rate between induction treatments. FLAG-Ida resulted in a reduced relapse rate but this was balanced by increased myelosuppression and deaths in CR resulting in no overall benefit in survival. No survival differences were seen in any of the post induction comparisons, but the MACE/MidAc arm produced more myelosuppression and required more supportive care, and led to increased death in remission. Disclosures: No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

In view of the lack of accurate recommendation and selection of courses on the network teaching platform in the new form of higher education, a network course recommendation system based on the double-layer attention mechanism is proposed. First of all, the collected data are preprocessed, while the data of students and course information are normalized and classified. Then, the dual attention mechanism is introduced into the parallel neural network recommendation model so as to improve the model’s ability to mine important features. TF-IDF (term frequency-inverse document frequency) based on the student score and course category is improved. The recommendation results are classified according to the weight of course categories, so as to construct different types of course groups and complete the recommendation. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the model recommendation accuracy compared with other algorithms.

In recent years, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are very popular among college students and have a powerful impact on academic institutions. In the MOOCs environment, knowledge discovery and knowledge sharing are very important, which currently are often achieved by ontology techniques. In building ontology, automatic extraction technology is crucial. Because the general methods of text mining algorithm do not have obvious effect on online course, we designed automatic extracting course knowledge points (AECKP) algorithm for online course. It includes document classification, Chinese word segmentation, and POS tagging for each document. Vector Space Model (VSM) is used to calculate similarity and design the weight to optimize the TF-IDF algorithm output values, and the higher scores will be selected as knowledge points. Course documents of “C programming language” are selected for the experiment in this study. The results show that the proposed approach can achieve satisfactory accuracy rate and recall rate.

Abstract BACKGROUND Tucatinib, a HER-2 TKI, has demonstrated intracranial efficacy in the HER2CLIMB study. Treatment of brain metastases frequently includes stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) or whole brain radiotherapy (WBRT); however, HER2CLIMB did not detail outcomes with RT. METHODS Patients who received tucatinib at our institution from 2020-2022 were identified. Patients who had brain metastases and received intracranial RT within 6 months of receiving tucatinib were included. Patients with history of prior leptomeningeal disease (LMD) were excluded. The Kaplan-Meier (KM) method was used to estimate intracranial failure (ICF), overall survival (OS), and local control (LC). Adverse events and details regarding symptomatic radionecrosis were collected. RESULTS Between 2020 and 2022, 50 patients were treated with tucatinib. Forty patients had diagnosed brain metastasis and received intracranial RT. Median age at tucatinib start was 51 years (range: 33-83). All patients were HER-2+, 47.5% were HR+. Fifty-four separate RT courses were delivered within 6 months of tucatinib, including 45 courses of stereotactic RT (83%) and 9 (17%) WBRT. Twenty-three patients (57.5%) underwent concurrent tucatinib and intracranial RT, defined as RT within 2 months of tucatinib initiation. Median follow up for surviving patients was 18.9 months. Fifteen patients (37%) died at the time of analysis. Median OS was 25.1 months with 24-month KM OS of 52%. Median time to ICF was 12.5 months with 24-month KM ICF of 48%. At the time of ICF, 7 patients (17.5%) developed LMD. In total, 132 discrete lesions were treated with SRS. Ten lesions (7.5%) underwent local failure, with 24-month KM LC of 82%. Three patients (9.1%) undergoing SRS developed symptomatic radionecrosis; all completely resolved with dexamethasone. DISCUSSION In this first series reporting outcomes with RT and tucatinib, no evidence of excess toxicity was noted. Intracranial control appears favorable compared to previous reports. Concurrent RT with tucatinib should be assessed prospectively.

This study was conducted to understand the overall perceptions of university students toward International Development Cooperation (IDC) and global citizenship education. The results, based on survey data, are as follows.<br/>First, university students agreed on the necessity of pursuing the goals of IDC and ODA projects. They reasoned that because South Koreans had benefited from foreign aid, they had a moral responsibility to contribute to the welfare of other developing countries. The students presented a high degree of agreement on the effectiveness of IDC projects in solving global problems, but they showed reluctance to the enlargement of the projects. The study revealed that the students were less aware of “2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”<br/>Second, the study showed that undergraduates were willing to participate in IDC projects and global citizenship educations. From a macroscopic point of view, they showed an eagerness to help the poor in developing countries and be engaged in IDC projects due to their global concerns. From a microscopic view, they wanted to fulfill their sense of moral responsibility by participating in global citizenship education, which they believe might help them find a job and develop their career.<br/>Third, undergraduates recognized that universities lack proper education on IDC and need to be equipped with a more enforced educational programs. Some of the students expected to receive multifaceted and up-to-date information on IDC via liberal arts courses.

Intraductal carcinoma of the prostate (IDC-P) is a rare and unique form of aggressive prostate carcinoma, which is characterized by an expansile proliferation of malignant prostatic epithelial cells within prostatic ducts or acini and the preservation of basal cell layers around the involved glands. The vast majority of IDC-P tumors result from adjacent high-grade invasive cancer via the retrograde spreading of tumor cells into normal prostatic ducts or acini. A subset of IDC-P tumors is rarely derived from the de novo intraductal proliferation of premalignant cells. The presence of IDC-P in biopsy or surgical specimens is significantly associated with aggressive pathologic features, such as high Gleason grade, large tumor volume, and advanced tumor stage, and with poor clinical courses, including earlier biochemical recurrence, distant metastasis, and worse survival outcomes. These architectural and behavioral features of IDC-P may be driven by specific molecular properties. Notably, IDC-P possesses distinct genomic profiles, including higher rates of TMPRSS2–ERG gene fusions and PTEN loss, increased percentage of genomic instability, and higher prevalence of germline BRCA2 mutations. Considering that IDC-P tumors are usually resistant to conventional therapies for prostate cancer, further studies should be performed to develop optimal therapeutic strategies based on distinct genomic features, such as treatment with immune checkpoint blockades or poly (adenosine diphosphate–ribose) polymerase inhibitors for patients harboring increased genomic instability or BRCA2 mutations, as well as genetic counseling with genetic testing. Patient-derived xenografts and tumor organoid models can be the promising in vitro platforms for investigating the molecular features of IDC-P tumor.

Abstract The goal of our research is improvement of mathematics curriculum and popularization of mathematics among students of economics in developing countries. We analyze and compare curricula of pure mathematics courses that are taught to university students of faculties of economics in Japan and in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Data set contains math syllabuses in 2021/22 school year from six public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and seven from Japan. The text corpus was pre-processed and then the Term Frequency – Inverse Document Frequency algorithm, and Sentence Transformed Multi QA model were applied to build word vectors, find the similarity among Japanese and Bosnia and Herzegovina mathematics syllabuses using cosine similarity approach, and to find the key competences of these two countries mathematics syllabuses using the word cloud. Our results show the following similarity between the curricula: 60.7 percent using TF-IDF and 80.3 percent using Multi QA model. The key competences in the Japanese mathematics course are narrow and focused, in contrast to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s.

Abstract Idarubicin (IDA) is one of the key drugs for treating hematological malignancies. Severe myelosuppression is one of the major adverse events of IDA. Interestingly, when IDA is administered in 2 consecutive courses of therapy, IDA tends to exert a stronger bone marrow suppressive effect in the second course compared with the first course while other anthracyclines such as daunorubicin tend to milder suppressive effect in the second course compared with the first course (Wiernik PH et al, Blood, 1992). In order to clarify this unique characteristics, in vivo and in vitro studies regarding the pharmacokinetic behavior were performed. When RLN-B2 (a rat liver cell line) was precultured in the presence of IDA, higher carbonyl reducing enzymes (CREs) activity was observed compared with non-precultured cells, suggesting the anthracycline-reducing enzymes was induced in the cells incubated in the presence of IDA. We examined the in vivo effects of IDA administration on the induction of CREs and subsequent enhanced formation of the 13-OH metabolite, idarubicinol (IDAol) which is more active compared with IDA and has a remarkably long half-life in the blood. The rats (F344) preadministered IDA showed higher enzymatic activity than that from non-preadministered rats (p &lt; 0.05). At 4 hours after IDA administration, the production of IDAol was facilitated in the preadministered group compared with the non preadministered group (p &lt; 0.05). Clinically, the duration of leucopenia was compared between IDA and mitoxantrone, an CREs independent anthraquinone, in combination with enocytabine, 6-mercaptopurine and etoposide. In 2 consecutive therapy, namely remission-induction and first consolidation therapy, in 30 cases of acute myelogenous leukemias, the duration of leucopenia was substantially equal in IDA group while it was substantially shorter in consolidation therapy compared with induction therapy in mitoxantrone group. These results suggest that CREs was induced by IDA pretreatment in vitro and in vivo, resulting in increased IDAol, which could potentiate the myelosuppressive and probably antitumor effects of IDA in contrast to other anthracyclines. This unique PK/PD characteristics of pharmacokinetic self-potentiation could be important in the safe and effective use of IDA in the therapy for hematological malignancies.

Among the quality indicators released by the Brazilian Higher Education Assessment System (Sinaes), the Indicator “Difference between Observed and Expected Performance” (IDD) has the purpose of measuring the contribution of the course to student achievement during undergraduate programs. The research presented here offers a new methodology for calculating the IDD (Model IDD-VDCF), examining the philosophical and statistical underpinnings of quality measures, focusing on those that capture the value-added as a student achievement growth. The survey included a sample of 30,668 students, from 911 accounting undergraduate programs in Brazil. The insertion of control variables (at the student and at the institution level) reduced the bias of the IDD estimate associated with the student's selection in specific Accounting Sciences courses. The results call attention to the need to consider the students' learning context when one wants to compare the performance between institutions based on standardized tests. The major contribution of this work is the development of a measure that disentangles more fully what the contribution of program is to student learning, and what merely is a reflection of the capacity that a student brought to the program.

Abstract Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is an aggressive cancer, characterized by the deregulation of the c-myc (MYC) gene. BL is a major model disease for molecular studies in many other malignancies. Treatment of BL requires long courses of intensive chemotherapy which extracts a disproportionate toll on patients. Previous studies using next generation sequencing have identified ID3 as a tumor suppressor gene, with silencing mutations in about 40% of BLs. However, relatively little is known regarding the biological role of ID3 in BLs. In this study, we sought to elucidate the molecular mechanisms that are affected by ID3 loss in BL. We utilized two complementary strategies. First, we developed an in vivo approach through conditional knockout of Id3 in mice. Second, we utilized a CRISPR-based approach to genetically knockout ID3, to study the effects of ID3 loss in BL cell lines. We have successfully knocked out exon 1, including the functional helix-loop-helix (HLH) domain of ID3 in 4 BL cell lines (Namalwa, Ramos, BJAB, and Jijoye) that do not harbor mutations in ID3. Deletion of exon 1 causes complete deletion at the protein level. Transcriptome sequencing from ID3 mutated BL cases identified increase in the expression of MYC target genes, as well as proliferation-related genes. Cell cycle analyses revealed faster cell cycle progression in the ID3 knockdown cells (P=0.02). To study ID3 loss in vivo, we crossed Em-Myc+ mice with a standard Id3 knockout strain mice. We found that E m -Myc+;Id3-/+ mice demonstrated reduced latency to tumor development compared to Eµ-Myc+;Id3+/+ littermates (P<0.01). This decreased tumor latency noted in the E m -Myc+;Id3-/+ mice suggests a strong in vivo synergy between the oncogenic effects of MYC overexpression and ID3 loss. Many of these tumors displayed the classic "starry sky" pattern that is classic for human Burkitt lymphomas. We are continuing to use the AID -Cre positive strains to generate combined Id3 deletion and Myc over-expression specifically in germinal center B cell context. Additional characterization of the mouse tumors using mouse whole exome sequencing and transcriptome sequencing is in progress and will be presented in the meeting. Our data reveal that ID3 greatly potentiates the oncogenic role of the MYC gene and understanding the role of ID3 enables new insights into the pathogenesis of BL, and potentially other MYC-driven malignancies. Disclosures No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

Purpose: This case study on Sangmyung University, Cheonan aimed to analyze the educational outcomes of the International Development Cooperation (IDC) class combined theory-/practice-based tasks that KOICA has supported since 2012. Originality: While KOICA has disclosed the overall performance by collaborative groups of all participating universities, there are very few studies that examine the outcomes of education on an individual university level; this research analyzes the effectiveness of theoretical lectures/practical training at Sangmyung University by serving as a model to design the courses that fit other universities. Methodology: This study applied a mixed method using quantitative analysis of survey responses and qualitative analysis of free-written responses in the questionnaire from 139 students collected by KOICA in 2018-2022. Result: Understanding of IDC increased significantly after the course compared to before the class, and their attitudes toward the expansion of foreign aids showed more positive; the higher the students' self-assessment of their IDC class, the higher the effects of the intended education approach. In the free-written comments, while most students wished to work for IDC-related bodies overseas, some students described their extended awareness of sustainability and human rights knowledge, skills, attitudes, and practices in global citizenship. However, the convergence projects based on appropriate technology/design would need to be modified in terms of the IDC course design. Conclusion and Implication: This study confirms that IDC theory lectures based on global citizenship theory and practices applicable to developing countries can raise students' global competence and inspire their willingness to work overseas. It will contribute to analyzing the effectiveness of IDC lectures within Korean universities and to their self-review on the IDC program.

Abstract Human resources are the most crucial element in the selection of suitable fitness instruction trainers (FIT) and the results of the screening process impact greatly on the entire physical training system in the Israeli army, both in the short-term and the long-term (potential officers, young officers and developing and veteran officers). The aim of the current study is to examine the effectiveness, validity and reliability of the screening process for acceptance to the female fitness instructors training course in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The screening process aims to identify those that are most suitable from a large pool of candidates, in order to ensure the highest possible level of candidates and the lowest possible drop-out rate from the training course and subsequent army service. The paper examines the reliability of the classification exam currently administered in the course and its validity in predicting those candidates who will succeed in the course and in their assignments afterwards. The sample is based on a data analysis of nine screening dates over three years (three each year). The evaluation of validity is based on the relationship between the course entrance exam grades (administered a year before enlistment), exam grades at the beginning of the course and additional data relating to success in the field.

Background: Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is a frequent finding in hospitalized pediatric patients. Sodium ferric gluconate complex (SFGC) has been in use at our institution for rapid replenishment of iron in patients unable to take or tolerate oral iron. Objective: Evaluate efficacy of SFGC, and incidence of adverse drug reactions (ADRs). Methods: Retrospective review of SFGC infusions in hospitalized patients <18 years with IDA, or after acute blood loss between January 1st 2008 and April 20th 2015. Results: Sixty-five inpatients received 1586 infusions in 738 courses of daily 1-3 mg/kg infusions followed by laboratory tests within 2-4 days. Mean number of infusions per course was 2.06±1.08, mean dose per course 4.6±3.1 mg/kg, and mean age was 8.43±6.64 years. 18.4% of the courses were administered to infants, and 24.4% to children 1-<7 years. The largest patient diagnoses group was gastrointestinal diseases (175 of 738, 23.7%), of those 64.6% (113) were inflammatory bowel disease. Comparing pre to post infusion values, there were significant increases in iron saturation, ferritin, reticulocyte count, and hemoglobin in all diagnoses and age groups. 85.8% of the courses were accompanied by erythropoietin injections. Those who received erythropoietin had higher reticulocyte count and lower ferritin levels compared to those who did not receive it (59.16±70.75 vs. 8.32±75.11, p=.005 and 81.61±179.01 vs. 134.84±117.87, p=.027 respectively). Two patients had transient hypotension but completed the infusions. Conclusion: SFGC infusions rapidly improved iron studies, and induced hematopoiesis in all age and diagnoses groups, and without significant ADRs. Safety in neonates needs further examination.

This article provides a review of publications on the analysis of students’ satisfaction with the educational process based on natural language processing methods. 197 student feedback on 129 elective disciplines at University of Tyumen was collected. A comparative analysis of keyword extraction methods was conducted: statistical TF-IDF, RAKE and YAKE; contextual KeyBERT; graph-based TextRank. On the collected reviews, grouped by elective disciplines, the RAKE method had the highest F1 BERTScore with 79 %. By parsing open sources, a dataset with 2210 Russian-language reviews for courses of different educational platforms was formed. Machine learning methods for sentiment analysis were described: support vector machines, logistic regression and based on Transformers, comparison on the manually marked part of the collected reviews. After fine-tuning on the rubert-base-cased model macro-averaged F1- score became 71.6 %. Classification into three classes (negative, neutral, positive) is not performed for the whole text of the review, but separately for each sentence from that text. The implementation of a database and information system for collecting and analyzing student feedback on the studied elective courses are presented. The model for sentiment analysis of the feedback is put into a separate microservice, which is communicated through an interface of the freely distributed Python framework FastAPI. The information system is designed to help students choose electives based on more qualitative data, and teachers and university administration ‑ to draw conclusions for further transformation of the educational space, taking into account students’ opinions.

Context The International Classification of Functioning, Health, and Disability (ICF) model and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) are concepts that must be addressed in professional education. Objective Describe a class assignment that allows students to integrate the concepts of the ICF model and PROMs into actual patient care. Background Adult learners, including professional athletic training students, thrive on learning experiences where they can apply concepts and integrate new knowledge with existing knowledge. In addition, existing research suggests that most athletic trainers are not integrating PROMs into their clinical practice; therefore, students are most likely not seeing the use of PROMs during clinical education. Faculty can facilitate the application of the ICF model and PROMs into patient care with a course-based assignment. Description The assignment requires students to use the ICF model as an assessment tool with an actual patient, which helps shape their therapeutic interventions. Students recorded baseline and follow-up PROMs with this patient over a time period of at least 3 weeks while documenting their interventions and the patient's change over time. Students addressed reflection prompts in the assignment by describing their successes and challenges, in addition to describing their future plans for integrating the ICF model and PROMs into their clinical practice. Clinical Advantage(s) Students described this assignment as beneficial because it helped them treat their patients more holistically. Students self-reported increased knowledge and confidence with using the ICF model and PROMs in their clinical practice. Students described a plan to integrate these concepts into their clinical practice in a limited fashion. Conclusion(s) Faculty may consider integrating an applied, patient-based assignment such as this to assess students' application of the ICF model and PROMs to an actual patient. This assignment can also be easily condensed or expanded to fit different courses, student background knowledge, and assessment of different curricular content standards.

This paper investigates the value-added indicator used in the Brazilian higher education quality assurance framework, the so-called IDD indicator for undergraduate programmes (“Indicator of the difference between observed and expected outcomes''). The two main claims are that since 2014 this indicator is calculated incorrectly and that this mistake has relevance for public policy. INEP, the educational statistical agency responsible for educational quality indicators in Brazil, incorrectly uses multilevel modeling in their value-added analysis. The IDD indicator is calculated by estimating a varying intercept linear mixed model, but instead of identifying the intercepts with the value added of courses, INEP uses the mean of the student residuals. That this was indeed the error made is shown by reproducing exactly INEP’s published values using the incorrect method with the microdata for the 2019 assessment cycle. I then compare these values to the ones obtained with the same model and same data, but using the correct value-added measure. A comparison of reliability estimates for both methods shows that this measure of internal consistency is indeed higher for the correct method. As an example of policy relevance, I calculate the number of courses that would change from “satisfactory” to “unsatisfactory” and vice-versa, using the usual criteria established by INEP, if the correct method is applied.

In pragmatic courses, graduate students are required to submit programming assignments, which have been susceptible to various forms of plagiarism. Detecting counterfeited code in an academic setting is of paramount importance, given the prevalence of publications and papers. Plagiarism, defined as the unauthorized replication of written work without proper acknowledgment, has become a critical concern with the advent of information and communication technology (ICT) and the widespread availability of scholarly publications online. However, the extensive use of freeware text editors has posed challenges in detecting source code plagiarism. Numerous studies have investigated algorithms for revealing different types of plagiarism and detecting source code plagiarism. In this research, we propose an innovative strategy that combines TF-IDF (Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency) modifications with K-means clustering, achieving a remarkable precision rate of 99.2%. Additionally, we explore the hierarchical clustering method, which estimates an even higher precision rate of 99.5% compared to previous techniques. To implement our approach, we utilize the Python programming language along with relevant libraries, providing a robust and efficient system for source code plagiarism detection in student assignment submissions.

Abstract Background: For many years the ALFA Group has used high dose DNR, i.e 80 mg/m2/day for 3d as part of the induction regimen for untreated adult AML pts. As the equivalence of DNR and Ida is not known we conducted a phase III study to compare high dose DNR to Ida. We also tested the effect of IL2 for maintenance. Methods: Newly diagnosed AML, aged 50 to 70 years, were randomized to receive AraC 200 mg/m2/day IV x 7 d with either DNR: 80 mg/m2/d x 3 d (arm 1) or Ida: 12 mg/m2/d x 3 d (arm 2) or x 4 d (arm 3). Pts who failed could receive a salvage course with Mitoxantrone x 2 d and AraC1g/m2 12 hrs x 4d. Response was assessed after induction+/− salvage chemotherapy. CR pts received 2 consolidation courses according to the induction arm with DNR: 80 mg/m2 or Ida:12 mg/m2 for 1 day (first course) or 2 days (2nd course) and AraC:1g/m2/12 hrs x 4 days. Pts in CCR after the two consolidation courses were randomized to receive or not a maintenance immunotherapy with IL2: 5.106/m2 for 5 days monthly for12 months. Results: From 2001 to 2006, 468 pts were included (median age: 60 years). The 3 treatment arms were well matched for pretreatment characteristics. CR was achieved in 360/468 pts (77%): 109 (70%) pts arm 1, 129 (83%) arm 2, 122 (78%) arm 3 (p=0.02).70 pts, (45%) pts in the DNR arm reached CR after 1 course vs 97 (62%) and 90 (57%) in Ida arms (p= 0.006). Pts in Ida arms experienced more grade 3 or 4 mucositis (p=0.004) but no differences were observed between the 3 arms for duration of hospitalization, time to PMN or plts recovery, incidence of grade 3 or 4 infectious episodes and treatment related mortality. 3 year cumulative incidence of relapse was 69%, 63%, 62% resp in arms 1,2,3 (p=NS). 3 year EFS was 19%, 30%, 26% resp (p=0.06 for arm 1 vs arms 2 and 3). 3 year OS was 31%, 40% 41% resp in arms 1,2,3 (p=NS). Age (&lt; or &gt;60 years), sex, initial WBC counts, initial LDH (nl or &gt;nl), DNR or Ida arms, need for a salvage course were not predictive for relapse, while 2yCIR was 43%, 64%, 77% among respectively fav, intermediate and unfav cytogenetic risk groups resp (p=0.0046). Of the 219 pts alive in CR after consolidations, 161 (73%) were randomized for maintenance. Only 22 of the 77 pts randomized for IL2 completed the 1 year treatment. 32 and 23 pts stopped IL2 resp because of relapse or intolerance. There were no differences in relapse or OS in both maintenance arms. Conclusion: Ida treatment even when compared to high doses of DNR yields higher CR rate and more CR after one course. This effect translated in slightly better EFS but not better CIR or OS. IL2 maintenance treatment at least as scheduled in this trial was difficult to apply and showed no impact on disease course.

Background and objective: Urbanization and reckless development have caused numerous problems, and urban agriculture with various functions is getting attention as a countermeasure. The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for revitalizing related research and setting effective policy directions by analyzing online articles on urban agriculture from 2012 to 2021.Methods: A total of 15,336 online news articles on urban agriculture were collected from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2021. For more detailed analysis, the time period was divided by 5 years. Next, nouns were tokenized through morphological analysis, and the main keywords were confirmed by simple frequency analysis and TF-IDF weighting analysis. Following that, LDA topic modeling was conducted to generate topics and words for each period. Python 3.9.5 was applied to run the above analysis. Results: As a result of the analysis, there were four topics in the 1st period and six topics in the 2nd period. Summarizing the topics over time, it was found that urban agriculture is expanding not only to social and cultural areas but also to diverse areas such as welfare and the environment. In addition, as the role of urban agriculture and the demand for services expanded, various education courses and programs were activated, including the implementation of a national professional qualification system, expert training courses, and cultivation technology programs. Conclusion: Based on the findings, urban agriculture is expected to be able to expand into various areas that take multidisciplinary values into account and create various convergence services that follow the trend of the times.

Abstract The number of older adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the U.S. is expected to double and potentially triple by 2030. Despite this demographic urgency, there continues to be a lack of research directly addressing aging of people with IDD. Individuals with IDD have on average twice as many health problems than others without IDD, experience earlier age-related declines in health and function than the general population and are more likely to develop secondary conditions as they age. The increase in the number of people aging with IDD and the challenges experienced by this population have demanded new directions for research, practice and policy that promote social justice and improve this population’s health and well-being. This symposium brings together research that critically examines and calls for a “new normal” of supports for healthy aging provided to the population aging with IDD. The first presentation consists of a systematic review of healthy aging interventions for adults with IDD. The authors conclude that such interventions for adults with IDD remain scarce, incipient and sporadic. The second presentation critically reviews an interprofessional education model aimed to address the complex and unique needs of older adults with IDD and dementia. The authors provide recommendations for the future development of interprofessional education in this field. In the third and final presentation the authors offer further transformation toward a new normal as they outline future directions for research on aging with IDD that is informed by positive psychology and disability studies theory.

Rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy (CP) requires a systematic approach and dynamic evaluation of results. The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health for Children and Youth (ICF-CY) is used to describe and measure the extent ofhealth disorders in children with CP. This classification allows to unify of identification of an individual profile of functioning of the child taking into account environmental and personal factors, to estimate changes of disorders of health in the course of rehabilitation. However, at the moment there are no clear quantitative criteria that allow using ICF-CY to determine the effectiveness of medical rehabilitation of patients with CP, which is relevant in clinical practice and research. The aim is to develop a criterion for evaluating the effectiveness of medical rehabilitation of children with CP based on the use of ICF-CY. Materials and methods. The study included 29 patients (mean age 5.4±1.05) with various forms of CP, who received medical rehabilitation courses in the hospital and polyclinic for 12 months. All patients, in addition to general physical and clinical neurological examination, were tested before and after rehabilitation courses using specialized questionnaires and scales, as well as evaluated using a brief core set of ICF-CY for children/youth with CP. Groups of patients with and without improvement in the first stage of the study were identified using expert evaluation. The sensitivity and specificity of the proposed criterion for assessing the effectiveness of rehabilitation are calculated at the second stage. The degree of consistency of experts‘ opinions and the developed evaluation criterion is analyzed. Results. The rehabilitation effect was determined on the basis of the dynamics of domain assessments on the components of the ICF-CY “functions”, “activities and participation” 12 months after the beginning of rehabilitation. The criterion of improvement is the positive dynamics of the child’s condition in at least 3 domains with a change in the assessment, at least 1 point. Improvement was achieved in 18 patients with CP 12 months after rehabilitation, according to the expert method. Improvement was observed in 16 patients with CP according to our criterion for evaluating the effectiveness of medical rehabilitation. Improvement was observed in 16 patients with CP according to our criterion for evaluating the effectiveness of medical rehabilitation. The sensitivity of our criterion for assessing the effectiveness of medical rehabilitation of patients with cerebral palsy was 89%, the specificity of 91%, which allows us to recommend the use of this criterion to assess the improvement of the effectiveness of medical rehabilitation of children with CP.
