The conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural functions has become a phenomenon in almost all regions. With the aim of increasing the economy instantly and quickly One thing that may not be taken into consideration in carrying out land conversion is the impact arising from the conversion of land functions, both in terms of the declining agricultural output sector or environmental damage due to the transfer of functions. One of the conversions of agricultural land to mining occurred in Pangkalan Jambu District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The data analysis method of this research is descriptive. The findings of this study are: First, in the process of converting agricultural land into mining in Pangkalan Jambu District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province, the majority of people still use manual tools, Second, the conversion of agricultural land into mining in Pangkalan Jambu District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province has a significant impact on community economic improvement. However, the impact of environmental damage is much greater. Third, in the study of Islamic economic law, the conversion of agricultural land to mining in Pangkalan Jambu District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province violates the concept of maslahah.

ABSTRACT Conversion between duplicated genes limits their independent evolution. Models in which conversion frequencies decrease as genes diverge are examined to determine conditions underwhich genes can "escape" further conversion and hence escape from a gene family. A review of results from various recombination systems suggests two classes of sequence-dependence models: (1) the "k-hit" model in which conversion is completely inactivated by a few (k) mutational events, such as the insertion of a mobile element, and (2) more general models where conversion frequency gradually declines as genes diverge through the accumulation of point mutants. Exact analysis of the k-hit model is given and an approximate analysis of a more general sequence-dependent model is developed and verified by computer simulation. If ´ is the per nucleotide mutation rate, then neutral duplicated genes diverging through point mutants are likely to escape conversion provided 2µ/λ >> 0.1, where λ is the conversion rate between identical genes. If 2µ/λ << 0.1, the expected number of conversions before escape increases exponentially so that, for biological purposes, the genes never escape conversion. For single mutational events sufficient to block further conversions, occurring at rate ν per copy per generation, many conversions are expected if 2ν/λ << 1, while the genes essentially evolve independently if 2ν/λ >> 1. Implications of these results for both models of concerted evolution and the evolution of new gene functions via gene duplication are discussed.

Land is the main resource in carrying out development. Reduction of land area, especially agricultural land for development also has an impact on the area of agricultural land in Bali, especially in Badung Regency. The construction of accommodation to support the tourism sector led to the conversion of agricultural land in Badung Regency, which is mostly found in South Badung. North Badung, which does not have as many attractions as those in South Badung, has in fact also experienced the conversion of agricultural land, especially rice fields, as was the case in the Abiansemal and Mengwi Sub-Districts. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that cause the conversion of paddy fields in the North Badung sub-district and determine the strategy to control the conversion of wetland in North Badung. The technique for determining key informants was done by purposive sampling with a total of 20 people. The analysis technique used is the Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) analysis. The results showed that the factors that caused the conversion of paddy fields or wetland in North Badung were economic elements, namely rice farming income, harvest price stability, access to crop marketing and paddy land prices. Social elements, namely family participation in managing rice fields, the influence of modernization on agriculture, the number of family members who are covered and regeneration of rice field management. The third elements is the environment, namely the level of water irrigation of rice fields, pests and diseases and housing needs due to increasing population. The strategy of controlling wetland conversion in North Badung that can be done based on short-term management priorities in the independent sector is the Millennial Farmer program.

Currently, the measurement of electrical and non-electrical quantities is performed using analog-to-digital conversion channels, which consist of analog signal conditioning circuits and analog-to-digital converters (ADC) of electrical quantities into a digital code. The paper considers the case when the defining errors of the measurement and control channel are systematic errors of the ADC. The reliability of measurements is assessed by their errors, and the reliability of control - by the likelihood of correct operation of the control device. In our opinion, evaluating the reliability of such similar processes as measurement and control using different criteria seems illogical. The aim of the work is to study the effect of systematic errors of an analog-to-digital converter on the errors of parameter control depending on the type of conformity functions and the width of the control window, as well as the choice of the resolution of the ADC for various control tasks. The paper analyzes the transfer functions of measurement and control. It is shown that they are formed using step functions. It is proposed to use not a step function as a control transfer function, but other functions of conformity to the norm, for example, a linear function or functions of higher orders. In this case, the control result is assessed not according to the criterion of the probability of correct operation, but using the control error. Analyzed from the point of view of reconfiguring the errors of the line, parabolic and state parabolic functions of the norms for the development of changes windows in control. A recommendation has been given for the selection of functions for the conformity of standards and for the distribution of analog-to-digital conversions for industrial control enterprises.

Abstract In this paper, we present the expressions, not published up to now, that describe the AM/AM and AM/PM conversions of communication power amplifiers (PAs) via the Volterra series based nonlinear transfer functions. Furthermore, we present a necessary and sufficient condition of occurrence of the nonzero values of AM/PM conversion in PAs. Moreover, it has been shown that Saleh’s approach and related ones, which foresee nonzero level of AM/PM conversion, are not models without memory. It has been also shown that using a polynomial description of a PA does not lead to a nonzero AM/PM conversion. Moreover, a necessary condition of occurrence of an AM/AM conversion in this kind of modelling is existence of at least one nonzero polynomial coefficient associated with its odd terms of degree greater than one.

The paper presents an original methodology for the implementation of the Logarithmic Number System (LNS) arithmetic, which uses Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC). The core of the proposed method is a newly developed algorithm for conversion between LNS and the floating point (FLP) representations named “looping in sectors”, which brings about reduced memory consumption without a loss of accuracy. The resulting effective RISC conversions use only elementary computer operations without the need to employ multiplication, division, or other functions. Verification of the new concept and related developed algorithms for conversion between the LNS and the FLP representations was realized on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), and the conversion accuracy was evaluated via simulation. Using the proposed method, a maximum relative conversion error of less than ±0.001% was achieved with a 22-ns delay and a total of 50 slices of FPGA consumed including memory cells. Promising applications of the proposed method are in embedded systems that are expanding into increasingly demanding applications, such as camera systems, lidars and 2D/3D image processing, neural networks, car control units, autonomous control systems that require more computing power, etc. In embedded systems for real-time control, the developed conversion algorithm can appear in two forms: as RISC conversions or as a simple RISC-based logarithmic addition.

This paper proposes a certainty equivalence model predictive control (MPC) approach for the operation of islanded microgrids with a very high share of renewable energy sources. First, to make the MG model more realistic, the conversion losses of the storage units and the conversion losses of the power electronic devices are considered by the quadratic functions in the dynamic of units. Then, to mitigate the effect of errors in the storage units’ state of charge prediction, the conversion loss functions are reformulated by the mixed-integer linear inequality functions and included in the proposed scheme. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed certainty MPC is verified by a numerical case study.

The shape coefficient of a curve, which is defined as the ratio of its full width at half-maximum intensity to integral width, is a measure of variation in shape. From the definitions of the pseudo-Voigt, Pearson VII and Voigt functions used in X-ray diffractometry, three shape-converting formulae are deduced. Numerical solution helps to establish a numerical model for interconverting the shapes of the pseudo-Voigt, Pearson VII and Voigt functions. Assessment of the error level and some comments on the shape of the pseudo-Voigt and Pearson VII functions are thereby made.

Abstract An intrachromosomal recombination assay that monitors events between alleles of the ade2 gene oriented as inverted repeats was developed. Recombination to adenine prototrophy occurred at a rate of 9.3 x 10(-5)/cell/generation. Of the total recombinants, 50% occurred by gene conversion without crossing over, 35% by crossover and 15% by crossover associated with conversion. The rate of recombination was reduced 3,000-fold in a rad52 mutant, but the distribution of residual recombination events remained similar to that seen in the wild type strain. In rad51 mutants the rate of recombination was reduced only 4-fold. In this case, gene conversion events unassociated with a crossover were reduced 18-fold, whereas crossover events were reduced only 2.5-fold. A rad51 rad52 double mutant strain showed the same reduction in the rate of recombination as the rad52 mutant, but the distribution of events resembled that seen in rad51. From these observations it is concluded that (i) RAD52 is required for high levels of both gene conversions and reciprocal crossovers, (ii) that RAD51 is not required for intrachromosomal crossovers, and (iii) that RAD51 and RAD52 have different functions, or that RAD52 has functions in addition to those of the Rad51/Rad52 protein complex.

Abstract The RET gene encodes a single-pass transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase. RET is the oncogene that causes papillary thyroid carcinoma and medullary thyroid carcinoma. The latter may arise as a component of multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 syndromes; germline mutations in RET are responsible for multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 inheritance. In this report we review data on the mechanisms leading to RET oncogenic conversion and on RET targeting as a strategy in thyroid cancer treatment.

Slowness versus depth functions offer a versatile complement to velocity versus depth functions. Obtaining the time‐depth relationship, which is essential for time to depth conversion, is greatly facilitated by the convenient mathematical form of the slowness versus depth functions. This feature allows them to be used to provide an accurate description of a wide range of forms of slowness (hence, velocity) variation with depth. Examples of polynomial and asymptotic slowness versus depth functions are given. As in the case of velocity versus depth functions, the applicability of some function forms (such as high‐order polynomials) may diminish rapidly outside the depth range over which the function is derived.

The dynamic characteristics such as speed and torque as well as voltages and currents of pwm brushless DC motor inverter are analyzed with a MATLAB model. The contribution of external load torque and friction torque is monitored. The switching function technique is adopted for the current control of the embedded three phase inverter that drives the brushless DC motor. In switching functions the power conversions circuits can be modeled according to their functions rather than circuit topologies. Therefore, it can achieve simplification of the overall power conversion functions. The trapezoidal type (back emf) is used in the model as it has lower switching loss compared with sinusoidal type (back emf). Results show reliable time analysis for speed, torque, phase and line voltages and currents and the effect of current commutation is clearly observed.

PLC module is an important part of embedded NC system, and mainly accomplishes the auxiliary functions of CNC machine tools. This paper completes the work of research and development of the PLC programming software for PC side of the host computer, and the software is developed in VC++6.0 environment based on windows XP system, to realize the editing functions and the mutual conversion between the ladder and instruction language. Focus on the realization of the mutual conversion between ladder with instruction table, use the logical structure of tree when the ladder converts to the instruction table, and use the data structure of stack to complete the conversion. Instruction table is transformed to Ladder by the operation of the stack to complete the conversion.

This study aims to analyze the role, constraints and solutions of Land Deed Officials in the conversion of agricultural land related to social functions on land in Sragen Regency. In case conversion of agricultural land is associated with social functions on land, cannot be avoided, especially if the land is for a highway development project as is the case in Sragen Regency which also involves the role of Land Deed Officials. The role of Land Deed Officials in the conversion of agricultural land to highway development projects carried out within the period of 2014-2015 is the provision of consultation to the community included in the authority of PPAT. Thus, Land Deed Officials can provide assistance in managing the conversion of agricultural land to the community. Meanwhile, in the conversion of agricultural land for highway construction, there is no significant obstacle because the Land Deed Officials manages the transfer of agricultural land functions according to procedures set by the Regulation of the Head of the National Land Agency Number 2 year 2011 concerning Guidelines for Land Technical Considerations in Issuance of Location Permits, Determination Location, and Permission to Change Land Use. Thus, if in handling the conversion of agricultural land is in accordance with the provisions of existing regulations, the Land Deed Officials will be able to overcome the existing obstacles.Keywords: Role of Land Deed Officials; Conversion of Agricultural Land Function; Land Social Function

Computer terminology has recently become very influential in languages other than English. One of the major problems affecting Spanish translation in this field derives from the high flexibility of English towards conversion, the process whereby a term belonging to a specific grammatical category can be used with different syntactic functions without requiring change in its form. Although no agreement exists on the definition and extent of conversion, this process poses some important problems for the Spanish translation. This paper intends to analyze and classify the most important types of conversion in English computer terminology and describe the major problems affecting the Spanish translation.
