Повний текст джерелаThe psycho-social perspective suggests that gender stereotypes could partly explain the differentiated involvement of men and women in sport. This doctoral research aims to examine the role played by gender stereotypes in sport involvement/dropout behaviours according to (1) the indirect pathway, via the internalization of these beliefs during the socialization process (Fredricks & Eccles, 2004) and (2) the direct pathway, via their automatic activation. A research program structured around 8 studies and implicating almost 1300 participants has been conducted. The studies 1 to 3 have confirmed on the one hand that specific beliefs are attached to sport activities and on the other hand, that they are likely to be automatically activated by the brief presentation of feminine activities and to affect the subsequent categorization of names. The studies 4 to 6 have highlighted the significant role played by gender stereotypes in individuals ‘sport involvement, since the endorsement of beliefs in disfavour of one’s own sex-group predicted negatively adolescents’ sport involvement, via the self-perceptions (competence, value). If, none link has been observed between sport-gender implicit association and sport involvement, a self + masculine implicit identity seems to be negatively associated with sport dropout. Finally, the studies 5, 7 and 8 showed that certain explicit stereotypes are malleable under a developmental perspective (general stereotype) and after an experimental manipulation (stereotype related to competence), but did not reveal any developmental pattern, nor sensibility to the experimental manipulation concerning the sport-gender implicit association

Повний текст джерелаThis study reports situations where sportsmanship is or is not used in high school physical education (PE) classes. A total of 158 high school students reported 269 significant events (134 positive, 135 negative) using the Critical Incident Technique (Brunelle, Drouin, Godbout & Tousignant, 1988). A content analysis of open model (L'Ecuyer, 1988) has led to the emergence of five dimensions: Support to teammates or opponents (42,8%), Respect of opponents, partners and/or equipment (21,9%) Equity between students inside a learning situation (20,8%), Honesty (8,2%) and Tenacity (6,3%). For those students, the absence of sportsmanship in PE is expressed primarily by a lack of Equity, Support and respect between students. These results invite physical educators to reconsider some of the learning circumstances as reported by their students.

Повний текст джерелаThe purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between conformity to the sport ethic norms and sexual violence experienced by young athletes in the sport environment. Participants are Canadian athletes between 13 and 18 years old involved in an organized sport (N=1140). They completed an online questionnaire including two validated scales: the Violence Toward Athletes Questionnaire (VTAQ) measuring experiences of sexual violence (by peers and coaches) and the Conformity to the Sport Ethic Scale (CSES) measuring conformity to the sport ethic norms (striving for distinction, self-sacrifice, refusing to accept limits). A logistic regression analysis was used to explore the relationship between the variables by sex and type of sport (collective and individual). Results show that increased conformity to the norm of striving for distinction increases the probability of experiencing sexual violence by peers. Increased conformity to this norm increases the probability of experiencing sexual violence by coaches in collective sports, while it decreases the probability of experiencing it in individual sports. Moreover, in individual sports, increased conformity to the norm of self-sacrifice increases the probability of experiencing sexual violence by coaches. The results of this study confirm the existence of an association between conformity to the sport ethic norms and sexual violence experienced by young athletes in the sport environment. As part of this study, the sport ethic is acknowledged as a socially learned representation defining what a “real athlete” is according to the sport community. Therefore, an intervention regarding the belief system is suggested in order to reduce the tolerance of sexual violence in sport.

Повний текст джерелаTaking on the perspective of the theory of the norm of internality, we investigate its existence 1) in the causal attributions of young football players, and 2) in the evaluative judgments of football trainers. Studies 1a ans 1b demonstrate the presence of a norm of internality in the field of football. Considering the value of events, the categories of internality, and life domains, a differential normative activation appears. A second set of studies (studies 2a and 2b) show that 1) in a situation of detection, athletic criteria are predominant, while 2) in a situation of inclusion in a team, the normative dimension is central. Finally (study 3), focusing on normative clearsightedness (theoretically based on the content of educational applications experienced by the individual), trainig sessions employing separate methods (technical versus global) reveal a modest effect of globals methods on the degree of players’ normative clearsightedness

Повний текст джерелаThe purpose of this doctoral dissertation was to analyze the relationship between motivation and performance in the sport domain based on self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan, 1985). The first five studies aimed at developing and validating a questionnaire designed to assess perceptions of competence, autonomy, and relatedness in the sport context. The purpose of study 6 was to examine the relationships between competitive and recreational sport structures, gender, individual and team sports, level of competition, sport motivation and athletes’ perceptions of autonomy, competence and relatedness. The purpose of study 7 was to test the relationships between perceptions of competence, autonomy and relatedness, and self- determined motivation in various environmental conditions. In study 8, a motivational model of sport performance based on the hierarchical model of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation (Vallerand, 1997) was tested. Study 9 investigated whether assessing adolescent elite athletes’ motivational profiles at the beginning of the season would allow us to predict their performance during the subsequent season. This lack of definition shows both a lack of understanding and a difficulty in tacking "social action". In sport, however, it is an object of lust decreed for its potential benefits of differentiation and considered advantages. If techniques such as sponsoring, sponsorship and public relations are pretty well known within their organizations, curiously, they have far from having revealed all their wealth in terms "communicational".The objective of this research is to identify the mechanisms of different forms of communication during sporting events. In international events, business seminars or sports (team building, incentive, gratuity, etc.), the event is at the heart of a complex relational system. As Edgar Morin points out to understand this complexity, it is necessary to change the paradigm in order to understand the meaning. The then invisible relationship requires positioning of phenomenological research, understanding and constructivism (Le Moigne).This "human fact" reads as a process of contextualisation of situational factors. Therefore, the social subject reinvents a new definition of the situation he is involved in linking various "artifacts". Also, a stream of thought in information and communication science, extending the work of the Palo Alto School (Watzlawick & coll.), is based on new methods of systems analysis and qualitative semiotic situational communications to understand the genesis of meaning shared by a group of subjects involved (Mucchielli).The results of this original research offering, in complementing the work done elsewhere (Ferrand, Tribou, etc.), to revisit a number of concepts such as persuasion, influence, change, etc. from the perspective of the subject by the notion of communication territorialized. For management as science and STAPS, these new avenues of research are part of a "praxeology" of communication for a better understanding of the action and its context (Quéré)

Повний текст джерелаThe main object of this work is to study the influence of anxiety and strategies of coping on the attentional processes within the framework of the sporting competition. Thus, this search arises in two parts where effects of the anxiety (anxiety-state and feature) and of the style of coping on the attentional processes at various stages of the information processing are approached in manner distinct. A probe detection task was used to measure attentional bias. To study the evolution of these bias, two conditions of exposition were used: a short condition followed of a mask (SOA 28 ms) and an unmasked (SOA 1500 ms) long condition. 145 sportsmen (Mage = 26. 00, s = 8,89) took part in this search. The main results show an interaction effect of the anxiety-state and anxiety-trait on the attentional patterns in subliminal condition, whereas in supraliminal condition, an effect of the anxiety-state factor as of the coping factor is highlighted

Повний текст джерелаIn sports psychology, interest in mindfulness-based interventions (MABI) continues to grow. However, the majority of studies involving MABI are not suitable for sport. Therefore, the objective of this thesis work was to develop knowledge concerning the application of mindfulness to athletes in three directions: the exploration, intervention and adaptation of a tool for measuring mindfulness. The thesis is composed of a review of the literature on mindfulness in sport and three studies carried out with regional to international athletes, adults and adolescents and in different sports disciplines, individual and collective. Analysis of the data from Study 1 revealed four models of strategies used by top Tunisian athletes to achieve their best and worst performances. There are two models of strategies similar to mindfulness-based strategies. Tunisian athletes who have never been exposed to mindfulness use strategies that rely on mindfulness mechanisms to manage their internal states during high-stakes situations. The objective of Study 2 was to examine the effects of the Mindfulness for Performance program on the performance of young table tennis players. Single-case research protocols implemented with young table tennis players have shown improved concentration during competition. The objective of Study 3 was to adapt the Mindfulness Questionnaire (MIS) to the written Arabic language. Statistical analyzes show that the MIS-TAM (Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco) is reliable and valid. Researchers and practitioners can now use this version to study mindfulness in some Arabic-speaking countries, and to help design and implement MABIs for athletes

Повний текст джерелаThe influence of background music on consumers is recognized by both practitioners and academics. Despite an apparent easy manipulation, it is a complex atmospheric element. This topic is the subject of a rich literature. However, it does not provide a clear consensus. In this work, the effects of background music on consumers were observed through its tempo. To this end, a quasi-experimentation was carried out with 148 clients in a sports leisure context. The results highlight that because of a tempo too fast or because of its presence, background music deteriorates the quality of the experience lived by customers: interactions between customers are less likely, the immersion and the satisfaction of these, more fragile

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis aims at investigating the position of the specificity of sport context, in the adapted Points of Attachment Index scale to a particular filed. This scale measures the spectators' attachment to sporting event and their dimensions. Attachment and emotional attachment concepts are used for spectator-sporting event relationships researches. As a specificity of sport, we study horse in French and equestrian context. This research tends to examine the consideration of this specificity of scale. Several steps of this thesis are associated with studies. Firstly, we identify the stakeholders of equestrian competitions, with spectator’s equestrian sporting event. The main goal of this study is to emerge “specificity-horse” items. Then, a quantitative study is conducted (n=463). On the one hand, it gives us the opportunity to analyze the consideration of specificity dimension to adapted scale. On the other hand, we examine spectators’ attachment to horse and other dimensions of sporting events. These results provide a better understanding of spectator-sporting event relationships. For it, this research suggests to examine sport and cultural context and to adapt scale, in order to make the results representing the field reality at its best

Повний текст джерелаThe main objective of this research was to study the effects of parental overinvolvement regarding the mental health and achievement of children and adolescents enrolled in a context of excellence while exploring the effect other personal and parental factors. Method: Participants were recruited in sports and school population. In total, the sample population consisted of 636 sports participants (201 children, 93 adolescents, 342 parents). The school population sample consisted of 611 participants (127 children, 174 teenagers, 310 parents). The children responded to questionnaires that assessed anxiety, personality, parenting and parental overinvolvement perceived. Adolescents completed questionnaires focused on the assessment of mental health, personality, parenting and parental overinvolvement perceived. Parents responded to questionnaires on personality disorders and parental overinvolvement. Results: The studies have highlighted : 1) the interest of a scale assessing parental overinvolvement in children and adolescents, 2 ) the deleterious influence of perceived parental overinvolvement on the mental health of children and adolescents in sports and school population, 3 ) individual vulnerability associated with negative perfectionism among children and young people in sport and school, 4) the adverse role of perceived parental overinvolvement on athletic and academic success, 5) the existence of a common personality profile among sport and school population associated with parental overinvolvement 6) an explanatory model of parental overinvolvement based on the combination of personality factors and personal parental, 7) links between parental overinvolvement and achievement by proxy Spectrum. Conclusion: The results highlight the issues associated with parental overinvolvement regarding mental health and success of children and adolescents, as they are enrolled in a context of sports or academic excellence. Preventive actions could be carried out in an educational perspective in order to prevent the effects associated with disease pressure success

Повний текст джерелаThe purpose of the thesis is to consider the behaviour of sports association stakeholders (players, managers, spectators) under the régime of the French State, the Occupation and its constraints. Research draws primarily on sources from within the sporting world. During the “dark years”, french sport was doubly penalised : by scarcity and the Occupation (to which it was by its very essence particularly sensitive), as well as by the Vichy régime's will to use it as a tool serving the “National Revolution”. Sport was also a strategic issue for collaborationists. The introduction provides an inventory of sport in 1939. The first part covers activities and representation of sport (heritage conservation, widened participation fostered by the government body responsible for Education and Sport “Commissariat général à l'Éducation générale et aux Sports”, impetus given to women's sports, use of sport to serve the “National Revolution”, supervisory staff as well as the realities of playing sport). The second part deals with the various reactions of the sporting world to attempts to subordinate and constrain it: favourable minority behaviour, or on the contrary, commitment to the Resistance or refusal and majority behaviour determined by an overriding attachment to sport or the search for an area of freedom. The third part (heritage and remembrance) is devoted to the imprint left by the Commissariat's policy (sports infrastructure, forms of play, sporting hierarchies) and to sportspersons' judgement on those in authority

Повний текст джерелаPositive youth development is a strength-based approach focussed on the youth’s developmental potential. Organized sport presents many components making it a favourable setting for positive youth development (i.e., a specific set of rules, goal setting opportunities, development of interpersonal relationships), etc. More precisely, the high-school sport setting has been the main area of focus for the research in that field, since high-school students are in an important phase of their identity development. The university sport setting also presents many components that make it a favourable setting for positive youth development, such as a high level of responsibility for the athletes and strong bonds between the athletes and the coaches. Furthermore, sport within the university setting requires a sustained implication of the athletes over time. In this optic, the research project presented in this study has for objective to explore the experiences of student-athletes within the university sport setting in order to analyze if this setting is favourable to the life skills development. More precisely, the research question guiding the study was: do student-athletes develop life skills throughout their university careers, and if so, how? To answer these questions, a narrative study, intermixed with a multiple case study was conducted. Four participants (two athletes in basketball and two in volleyball) were questioned during semi-structured interviews. The results obtained presented three main components having a meaningful influence on their sporting and personal experiences as student-athletes: (a) the climate in which they evolved, (b) the life skills development, and (c) the adjustment to the university sport setting and its demands. This study concludes with a discussion on the results, the limits and the future research avenues.

Повний текст джерелаDevido ao mundo global e às mudanças que este tem vindo a assinalar, um dos elementos chave para a vantagem competitiva das organizações que nele actuam é a criatividade, bem como o improviso. Nos últimos anos desenvolveram-se vários estudos sobre este mesmo tema, na área da gestão, que demonstram que essa vantagem competitiva ocorre quando a criatividade é abordada em função do seu contexto. Contudo, sendo a criatividade e o improviso inerentes ao ser humano, ambos também acabam por se manifestar em outras áreas da vida humana, como a música, a dança, o teatro e nomeadamente o desporto. Este trabalho visou perceber de que forma é que a criatividade e o improviso estão presentes no ténis de alta competição, como se manifestam, se é importante e sua existência, e que tipo de vantagens trazem para os jogadores. Teve como campo de estudo pessoas relacionadas com o ténis: jogadores, treinadores, árbitros e adeptos. Para a concretização dos objectivos previamente propostos, foram realizadas entrevistas de tipo semi-estruturadas, dirigidas presencialmente a 15 pessoas - 6 treinadores, 4 jogadores, 1 árbitro e 4 adeptos, tendo-se obtido uma taxa de 100% de participação. Estas entrevistas foram analisadas com base à técnica de análise de conteúdo temática (Bardin, 1977). Os resultados obtidos indicam que tanto a criatividade como o improviso estão presentes no ténis - talvez mais o improviso - sendo melhores descritos como identitários do ser jogador, ou seja, é necessário e importante que estas capacidades existam pois trazem vantagens aos jogadores.
Due to all the changes that happened on global world one of the key elements to have competitive advantage on organizations that act in it is: creativity and improvisation. In recent years we have developed several studies on this subject demonstrating that this competitive advantage occurs when creativity is addressed according to their context. However, with the creativity and improvisation inherent in the human being, eventually manifest itself in other áreas of human life, such as music, dance, theater and particulary sport. This study aim to understand how creativity and improvisation are present in top-level tennis, how are manifested, its importance and its existence, and what kind of benefits they bring to the players. It had as studie field people related to tennis: players, coaches, referees and fans. To meet the previously proposed objectives semi-structured type of interviews weres conducted in person addressed to 15 people - 6 coaches, 4 players, 1 referee and 4 fans, having obtained a rate of 100% stake. These interviews were analyzed using the thematic content analysis (Bardin, 1977). The results show that both creativity and improvisation are present in tennis - perhaps more improvisation - is best described as the identity of a player, and i tis necessary and important that these capabilities exist because they bring advantages to players.

Повний текст джерелаMeanwhile the dominant sociology assumes that globalization generates astandardization process of sports cultures, in one hand, and that postmodern societies are onlypracticing leisure in a free and disinterested spirit in another hand, this thesis is structuredaround the main idea that such an analytical trends are not adequate in Africa globally and inCameroon in particular for two reasons at least. Firstly, even if the globalization’s effects onCameroonian sports is not to be denied, the study of sports activities in their nationalspecificities and given the singularities of the practices displays the fact that, as a total socialphenomenon, sport always carries the brand of the society where it takes place. Secondly, inless developed countries as in Cameroon case, sport leisure, in the extend that it generates thecontact between numerous actors with different social statuses, can’t be separated from thedaily problems experienced by individuals involved. Повний текст джерелаFor the last few decades, the popular suburbs are at the heart of many governmental measures implied so as to combat the marginalization of these areas and to escape from the dictum of urban violence. If a town planning policy does indeed exist, the resources implemented particularly in the domain of prevention through sports are currently under discussion and many issues have yet to be discussed. Hence stemming from a local analysis of the town of Trappes we looked into the question of how influential these prevention through sports public policies really are.So as to better understand the role of sport in relation to our field of analysis, our work was axed around archive study, observations and interviews with a panel of about 75 participants. All of the participants who have or who have had a role to play in the district were met with in order to try to retrace the history of the town. Overall our aim was to look towards analyzing the genesis of prevention through sports public policies – the changes, the fear of conflict, the strategical definitions of the participants, power issues and the evaluation of the effects of this policy on the local district. We were also very interested in the global sporting action within the community.Through-out the study our aim was never to categorize the “right way of doing things” but moreover to put forward certain recommendations regarding the implementation of these prevention through sports policies – notably aspects such as emergency management, the notion of territory, of space, of the public system and the importance of evaluation. The importance of the local context must be also taken into account – its history, resources, actors – before implementing political actions hence it was also of utmost necessity to adapt oneself to each situation

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis is about the sporting lives of people who work and/or live at the commercial grape and wine farms of the Western Cape. Collectively referred to as farm workers, they are identified by the Western Cape Provincial Government as a priority group in need of "development". Over the past 15 or so years, proclamations and practices of "sport for development and peace" (SDP) have emerged as globally recognised phenomena, where sport is promoted as a tool to achieve a broad range of "development" objectives, including the Millennium Development Goals. As a research topic, SDP scholars examine the practical and theoretical usefulness of sport as a tool for addressing a diverse set of social, health, political and economic issues through education, diplomacy, inclusion, and awareness programmes. Instead of attending to the questions of whether or how sport might serve "development" ends, this study offers a critical analysis of the nexus between sport and "development" (SDN) in the context of farm workers of the Western Cape. Informed by James Ferguson‘s analysis of "development" as an 'anti-politics machine' (1990), I adopt a deconstructionist approach that examines issues beyond the narrow confines of "development" problems and programmes. As he argues, "development" continues to serve as a-central organising concept‘ to discuss and assess desired change in social and economic realms, which is evident in the programmes of farm worker "development" and how these continue to retain a place in the policy and political discourses on agrarian transformation in post-apartheid South Africa. With an appreciation of the Western Cape‘s agrarian history and politics and how they shape present-day farm labour conditions, I have critically analysed the discourses and practices of farm worker "development" and SDP in the light of broader structural realities, everyday sporting lives and the "development" experiences of farm workers. The central organising question of this thesis is: how do "development" problems and the solutions sought for in SDP discourses and programmes correspond to the social, economic and political realities of their subjects? Drawing on my ethnographic fieldwork conducted at farmlands in and around Rawsonville, a small rural town, from April 2012 to May 2013, I illustrate different and seemingly disconnected frames and positions from which theories of SDP and farm workers‘ experiences of sport and "development" were observed. The analysis is organised around three contrasting frames of observation, namely: 1) historical and contemporary discourses and politics of farm worker "development" and SDP programmes and practices, 2) structural arrangements of competitive and physical infrastructure for official sport, and 3) everyday (official and unofficial) sporting practices and experiences of the rural working class people. With a particular attention to continuities and contradictions in historical and contemporary farm worker "development" discourses and selected SDP case studies, I demonstrate that while SDP agendas directed at farm workers may serve divergent and at times conflicting interests, farm workers' own agency, initiative and aspirations do not feature in SDP programmes and broader "development" discourses. The contrasts and counter-narratives presented in discussing these case studies and stories complicate and contest simplified notions commonly projected in global SDP discourses and locally specific "development" agendas. Beyond the confines of sporadic and temporary SDP projects, there was a vibrant and active world of formal and informal sport among the farm workers of Rawsonville. By focusing on the everyday sporting lives of athletes, coaches, managers, organisers and soccer clubs, I paint a picture that reveals the diversity and inconsistency of experiences and meanings of farm worker as an identity, a class position and an occupation. Interrogating how farm workers were embedded within the broader rural sport structures, I describe the complex set of factors that shaped their experiences of, access to, and participation in, sport. I argue that while sport was passionately pursued irrespective of direct or corollary "development" benefits, it was unofficial and under-the-radar sport networks and practices that served as vital spaces of autonomy, initiative and self-realization, even for those who may not otherwise have had such opportunities. And while the politically disengaged and enthusiastically embraced qualities of sport may continue to be among the reasons for its traction in "development" and peace agendas, these very same qualities allow sport to be usefully employed as an ethnographic method. Among the formative turns I took in conducting and presenting my research observations was to implicate myself and invite the reader into the confusing and complex process of learning and knowledge production. By way of conclusion, I argue for refocusing the gaze of research on studying sport as part of the broader scope of subaltern sociality.

Por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa, utilizando-se a técnica de história de vida e análise de conteúdo temático, este trabalho teve o objetivo de investigar as situações ou acontecimentos que podem desencadear nos atletas o sentimento de medo, como tais indivíduos reconhecem tal sentimento em seus contextos esportivos, e lidam com ele para que o mesmo não prejudique ou interfira na performance esportiva. Participaram deste estudo 10 indivíduos das modalidades mountain bike e canoagem. Como resultados, obtivemos: a) as situações ou acontecimentos, que podem desencadear o sentimento de medo, foram: quanto ao aspecto pessoal, como por falta de habilidade ou técnica, e devido ao julgamento social; quanto ao aspecto ambiental, como devido a um trecho difícil, uma corredeira forte e devido ao trajeto; quanto aos aspectos de competição, como devido à competitividade, devidos aos adversários, devido à dúvida quanto ao resultado, devido à importância da competição e devido à cobrança; b) o reconhecimento, por parte dos participantes, do sentimento de medo, se deu da seguinte forma: medo de cair, medo de se machucar, medo de descida, medo de ser atropelado, medo de se acidentar, medo de não vencer, medo de ser julgado, medo do desconhecido, medo de morrer, medo do trajeto, medo do futuro, medo da incerteza, medo de errar, de fracassar, de perder, medo do resultado, de não classificar e medo de não alcançar um objetivo; c) ao analisarmos algumas emoções que permeiam os atletas, na prática das modalidades, encontramos: estados afetivos positivos, como confiança, motivação, entusiasmo, felicidade e prazer; e estados afetivos negativos, como desânimo, solidão, decepção, raiva, nervosismo, tensão, apreensão, ansiedade, medo, insegurança e pressão; d) ao observar as definições que os atletas davam para sentimento de medo, evidenciamos...
By doing a qualitative research, using the technique of life history and analysis of thematic content, this papers objective was to investigate the situations or events that might bring to life the feeling of fear in athletes, how they know such feeling in the sporting context, and how to deal with it so that it doesn't harm him or interfere in the sporting performance. Ten athletes of mountain bike and canoeing participated of this study. The results were: a) situations or events that might make the feeling of fear appear: concerning the personal aspect, like lack of ability or technique, due to social judgment; concerning the environmental aspect, like a difficult track, a strong river rapid; concerning the competition aspects, like competitiveness, adversaries, doubt about the results, competition importance; b) the feeling of fear's recognition by the students was achieved this way: afraid of falling, afraid to get hurt, afraid of down hills, afraid of being ran over, afraid of getting involved in an accident, afraid of losing, afraid of being misjudged, afraid of the unknown, afraid of dying, afraid of the track, afraid of the future, afraid of uncertainty, afraid of making a mistake, afraid of its result, afraid of not classifying, and afraid of not achieving a goal; c) when we analyze some kinds of emotion that the athletes feel, we find: positive affective states, like trust, motivation, enthusiasm, happiness and pleasure; and negative affective states, like loss of heart, solitude, disappointment, rage, nervousness, tension, apprehension, anxiety, fear, unreliability, and pressure; d) when we observed the definitions that athletes give to the feeling of fear, we noticed: something unknown, uncertainty, doubt, diffidence, physical fear, psychological fear, surviving instinct, unpleasant sensation, discomfort, state of great tension, apprehension toward difficulties, incapacity and unreliability; e) when we verified the strategies used.

Resumo: As artes marciais sempre fizeram parte da cultura e da história do homem desde o início do mundo civilizado. Elas evoluíram e se transformaram a partir das necessidades contextuais do homem, entretanto, por muito tempo serviram enfaticamente para fins militares e políticos. Com o desenvolvimento das tecnologias bélicas, em especial no fim do século XVIII e início do século XIX, as artes marciais foram perdendo a sua importância militar, ganhando outros contornos e funcionalidades. Nesse contexto, o wushu destacou-se pelas novas perspectivas de prática voltadas para a saúde, esporte e lazer. É neste cenário de modificação das antigas tradições das artes marciais que o presente estudo estabeleceu como objetivo central a identificação de como as novas funcionalidades dessas tradições possibilitam a sua prática por pessoas com diferentes e peculiares condições e quais são as possíveis modalidades a serem praticadas, vinculadas às diferentes deficiências. Para a realização desse estudo, utilizou-se como técnica a aplicação de dois questionários distintos para mapear no Brasil, o número de praticantes e a prática do wushu por pessoas com deficiência, além da realização de entrevistas com professores da modalidade, vinculados direta ou indiretamente à Confederação Brasileira de Kungfu Wushu (CBKW), indicados por esse órgão, que possuem mais de 20 anos de prática. Também foram entrevistados alguns praticantes de wushu que possuem deficiência. A partir desses dados, são apresentadas modalidades do esporte vinculadas às diferentes deficiências, no sentido de sugerir possibilidades de prática. No Brasil, foi identificada a prática de wushu por pessoas com diferentes limitações, sendo que os mais recorrentes são os que apresentam deficiência física, seguidos pelos com problemas auditivos, intelectuais e visuais. Essa prática é realizada de modo não sistemático e sem um planejamento prévio, ocorrendo a partir da procura desse público pela modalidade. A atividade física e o esporte são entendidos como foco principal da prática, entretanto, os informantes consideram que a defesa pessoal seja também uma possibilidade. Foram identificados professores de wushu com deficiência atuando no ensino dessa modalidade, lecionando para alunos com e sem deficiência. As sugestões para a prática do wushu para esse público não contemplam todas as modalidades para qualquer deficiência. Algumas são indicadas, outras sugerem restrições e necessitam de adaptações, e outras, ainda, não são indicadas. Essas sugestões estão vinculadas às diferentes e peculiares condições apresentadas pela pessoa que pretende praticar o wushu. A partir da percepção dos informantes do estudo, todas as pessoas com diferentes tipos de impedimentos podem praticar o wushu, sempre dependendo do grau da deficiência, da adaptação dos conteúdos, dos métodos de ensino, e por último, da competência do professor envolvido
Abstract: Martial arts have been part of the culture and history of humankind since the begging of the civilized world. They do not only evolved, but also adapted themselves for human necessitate. However, martial arts were used for militaries and political purposes for a long time. With the development of weapons technologies, especially in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century, the martial arts were losing their military importance, gaining contours and other features. In this context, wushu is highlighted by new perspectives of practice focused on health, sport and leisure. This study established as its objectives, under a changing scenario in ancient martial arts traditions, to identify how new features of these traditions allow its practice by people with different and peculiar conditions and what are the possible ways to be practiced, linked to various disabilities. In order to conduct this study, it was used as the technique to map in Brazil the number of practitioners and their practice wushu by people with disabilities, two separate questionnaires, including also interviews with people who teaches wushu, linked directly or indirectly to Brazilian Confederation of Kungfu Wushu (CBKW), given by that body, who possess over 20 years of practice. Wushu practitioners who have disabilities were also interviewed. From these data, it was presented the sport modalities linked to different disabilities, to suggest possibilities for practice. In Brazil, it was identified wushu practice by people with different limitations, and the most common were physically disabled people, followed by those with hearing, visual and mentally disabilities. This practice is carried out in a non-systematic and without prior planning, occurring due to the motivation of this public. Physical activity and sport are seen as the main focus of practice; however, the participants considered that self-defense is also a possibility. It was identified wushu teachers with disabilities working in teaching this modality for students with and without disabilities. The suggestions for practicing Wushu from this audience do not include all the arrangements for any deficiency. Some are indicated, others suggest some restrictions and require adjustments, and still others are not listed. These suggestions are linked to different and unique conditions presented by the person who intends to practice wushu. From informants' perspective of this study, everyone with different types of disabilities can practice wushu, always depending on the degree of disability, repurposing content, teaching methods, and at last, the competence of the teacher involved

Повний текст джерелаEn aquesta investigació es plantegen com a objectius principals dissenyar un model de registre que permeti descriure i relacionar els elements que configuren el joc de l’handbol, i aplicar-los a la comparació entre dues categories de competició. Seguint les directrius de la metodologia observacional s’opta per un sistema combinat de format de camp i sistema de categories, emprant un disseny d’investigació de caire ideogràfic, puntual i multidimensional. S’utilitza com a instrument d’observació i registre el software Dartfish TeamPro V. 4.5 per analitzar set partits de categoria absoluta masculina (Copa del Rei d’Espanya, 2012) i set partits de categoria infantil masculina (Campionat d’Espanya de clubs, 2012), generant-se dades de tipus concurrent i d’esdeveniment. S’apliquen tècniques descriptives i d’inferència estadística bivariada per a l’anàlisi relacional de les dades, afegint-se la tècnica multivariada d’arbres de decisió a l’anàlisi comparatiu de grups. En relació al primer objectiu de la investigació, destaquen els resultats que constaten l’associació entre sistemes de joc i procediments col.lectius tant ofensius com defensius, així com la dificultat en establir relacions significatives entre l’atac i la defensa. Respecte el segon dels objectius, les diferències més significatives entre ambdues categories de competició, s’obtenen en els criteris diferències en el marcador (marc situacional), sistemes de joc defensius (marc estratègic), així com una major ocurrència d’errades tècnic-tàctiques en categoria infantil (marc de la eficàcia).
The principal objectives proposed for this research are to design a recording model that will permit the elements configuring the sport of team handball to be described and related, and to apply this model to the comparison between two categories of competition. Following the guidelines of observational methodology, a combined system has been chosen of field format and system of categories, using an ideographic, specific and multidimensional research design. Dartfish TeamPro V.4.5 software has been used as the instrument of observation and recording to analyse seven matches in the top male category (Spanish King's Cup, 2012) and seven matches in the children's male category (Spanish Club Championship, 2012), generating concurrent and event data. Bivariate descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were used for the relational analysis of the data, adding the multivariate technique of decision trees to the comparative analysis of groups. With regard to the first research objective, of note are the results that show the association between game systems and collective procedures, both offensive and defensive, and the difficulty of establishing significant relationships between attack and defence. With regard to the second of the objectives, the most significant differences between the two categories of competition are obtained in the different criteria on the scoreboard (situational framework), defensive game systems (strategic framework) and a greater occurrence of technical-tactical errors in the children's category (effectiveness framework).

The possibility of becoming a millionaire attracts over 200,000 daily fantasy sports (DFS) contest entries each Sunday of the NFL season. Millions of people play fantasy sports and the companies sponsoring daily fantasy sports are worth billions of dollars. This thesis develops optimization models for daily fantasy sports with an emphasis on tiered contests. A tiered contest has many different payout values, including the highly sought after million-dollar prize. The primary contribution of this thesis is the first model to optimize the expected payout of a tiered DFS contest. The stochastic integer program, MMIP, takes into account the possibility that selected athletes will earn a distribution of fantasy points, rather than a single predetermined value. The players are assumed to have a normal distribution and thus the team’s fantasy points is a normal distribution. The standard deviation of the team’s performance is approximated through a piecewise linear function, and the probabilities of earning cumulative payouts are calculated. MMIP solves quickly and easily fits the majority of daily fantasy sports contests. Additionally, daily fantasy sports have landed in a tense political climate due to contestants hopes of winning the million-dollar prize. Through two studies that compare the performance of randomly selected fantasy teams with teams chosen by strategy, this thesis conclusively determines that daily fantasy sports are not games of chance and should not be considered gambling. Besides creating the first optimization model for DFS tiered contests, this thesis also provides methods and techniques that can be applied to other stochastic integer programs. It is the author’s hope that this thesis not only opens the door for clever ways of modeling, but also inspires sports fans and teams to think more analytically about player selection.

Resumo: O esporte configura-se como fenômeno sócio-cultural, sendo suas características tão dinâmicas como a própria sociedade que o configura em suas ações cotidianas. Sua versão moderna data do final do século XVIII, na Inglaterra, e sua expansão foi impulsionada por instituições, em especial a escola e o clube. Na contemporaneidade o clube sócio-esportivo é ainda uma das principais organizações de fomento ao esporte em diferentes países, como no Brasil. Entretanto, nas últimas décadas, o esporte transformou-se e vem se adaptando ao mundo globalizado, à sociedade de consumo e mais individualizada, à velocidade dos meios de comunicação, manifestando-se de formas múltiplas e atendendo aos diferentes segmentos da sociedade. Diferentemente, o clube sócio-esportivo se divide entre aspectos tradicionais de sua gestão e funcionamento e as exigências atuais de diversificação e profissionalização, o que caracteriza o momento atual dessa instituição como de crise, em especial diante do modelo de esporte federado. A partir deste panorama, o estudo contempla a interface entre esporte e clube sócio-esportivo, objetivando compreender o atual momento no contexto brasileiro, a fim de sinalizar para novas possibilidades de relação do clube sócio-esportivo com o esporte. Para isso, a partir de pesquisa bibliográfica, descreve a evolução do esporte e o relacionamento do clube sócio-esportivo com o fenômeno desde seu período moderno até o contemporâneo, destacando o contexto brasileiro. Com base na discussão teórica, a pesquisa avança para um estudo de caso em um clube esportivo espanhol, o "Club Básquet Coruña", o qual vem apresentando êxito na oferta do basquetebol no modelo federado, apresentando nos últimos cinco anos um aumento de 374,5% de atletas federados vinculados ao clube e resultados de sua equipe adulta que os levaram a ascender em três ligas profissionais da modalidade no país. O estudo do caso se deu a partir de entrevista semi-estruturada com dirigentes da entidade a fim de identificar ações de gestão que tem viabilizado o crescimento esportivo e institucional na interface do clube com as possibilidades do esporte contemporâneo. O estudo foi organizado perspectivando contemplar cinco objetivos específicos: (1) descrever a relação do clube sócio-esportivo com o esporte ao longo de três períodos específicos, quais sejam, o moderno, a transição e o contemporâneo; (2) compreender o clube sócio-esportivo no contexto brasileiro; (3) estudar o clube esportivo no contexto espanhol; (4) sinalizar para possibilidades de fomento ao esporte via clube no contexto contemporâneo; (5) sinalizar para possíveis contribuições que o fomento ao esporte pode trazer à instituição clube.
Abstract: Sport appears as a socio-cultural phenomenon, characterized as dynamic as the society itself. Its modern version dates from the late eighteenth century in England, and its expansion has been driven by institutions that fostered, in particular schools and sporting clubs. In contemporary times, the social and sports club is still one of the leading organizations promoting the sport, especially in the western world, like Brazil. However, in recent decades sport changed and is adapting to the globalized world, to the consumer society and to the speed of the media, manifesting itself in multiple ways and contributing to different segments of society. The social and sports club, in contrast, is divided between traditional aspects of its management and operation and the current demands of diversification and professionalization, which characterizes the current moment of crisis, particularly related to federate sports. From this perspective, the study addresses the interface between sport and social and sports club in order to understand the current moment in the Brazilian context, intending to signal new opportunities for social and sports club with the sport. For this, it describes the evolution of sport and the relationship of the social and sports club with the phenomenon since its modern --- to contemporary period, emphasizing the Brazilian context. From this theoretical discussion, the study advances to a case study in a Spanish sports club, "Club Basquet Coruña", a club that has shown success in providing basketball in the federate model, with an increase of 374.5% federated athletes linked to the club in the last five years and also results for their basketball adult team that led them to ascend in three professional leagues in Spain. I was made from semi-structured interviews with directors of the club in order to identify management actions that have made possible the sportive and institutional growth at the club interface with the possibilities of contemporary sport. The study has four specific objectives: (1) describe de relationship between sport clubs and sport over there specific periods: modern, transition and contemporary; (2) understand the social and sporting club in the Brazilian context, (3) study the sports club in the Spanish context, (4) signal to the possibilities of promoting the sport through club in the contemporary context, (5) signal for club improving through sport.

Повний текст джерелаLes arguments exprimés à l’égard des effets de l’implication des jeunes dans la pratique des activités sportives ou artistiques suggèrent que ces pratiques contribuent à la réconciliation et de ce fait, à la pacification des rapports sociaux. La promotion de la pratique sportive se justifie ainsi par des valeurs et des bénéfices qui lui semblent consubstantiels.
Nous avons ainsi affaire à un scenario dans lequel agissent tant des acteurs civils qu’armés auprès des enfants et des jeunes. Nous constatons que dans un tel scénario l’utilisation des éléments courants du domaine de la pratique sportive ou des activités artistiques répondent à des intérêts opposés par rapport à la représentation et le statut de l’exercice de la violence. Pour les uns, le but est le contrôle les expressions de la violence pendant que, pour les autres, l’intérêt est lié aux enjeux de l’exercice de celle-ci. Ce cadre problématise évidement le rôle, la représentation et la façon dont ces activités participent dans les processus de pacification de rapports sociaux dans un contexte déterminé par la présence d’un conflit armé et par l’exercice systématique de la violence armée.
Nous avons entrepris une enquête auprès des jeunes inscrits dans la pratique des activités sportives et/ou artistiques ainsi que des jeunes sortis des groupes armés afin d’explorer leur attitude face à la possibilité de s’engager dans des activités leur demandant une disposition à exercer la violence armée. Il s’agit de savoir comment se positionnent les enfants et les jeunes impliqués dans la pratique des activités sportives face à la violence et à la possibilité de l’exercer. Et plus précisément, à quel point les jeunes qui font du sport se montrent adverses au fait d’armer leur corps voire devenir « corps armé ».
Le rapport entre la pratique sportive et l’attitude face à la possibilité d’exercer la violence armée est évaluée au sein de la société colombienne qui subit les conséquences d’un long et interminable conflit armé. La durée de ce conflit a engendré une multiplicité de formes par lesquelles s’exerce le contrôle de la population et du territoire à travers la violence armée et organisée.
The participation of children and teenagers within an armed confrontation is a manifestation that questions the basics of our contemporary society. Within countries affected by armed conflicts, an important effort should be made by the civil society to prevent de usage of children and teenagers by the parties in conflict. In addition children and teenagers formerly involved in armed conflict should be reintegrated in civil life by encouraging the practice of sports and arts. This an initiative promoted by the national and international organizations.
The arguments already discussed regarding the effects of involving the youth in sports and artistic activities suggest that such practices contribute to the reconciliation, thus pacification of social relationships. The promotion of sports is justified by the values and benefits attached by sport practice.
We have inquired youngsters that practice sports and/or arts and former child soldiers about their attitude facing the possibility to get involved in activities related to armed violence. This is to understand how children and teenagers face violence or the possibility to exercise it. In particular, to understand to which point, the youngsters that practice sports are adverse to arm themselves.

Повний текст джерела@This study concerns components used to self-regulate in a learning context in physical education. Twenty-three students from third and fourth grades in french college were asked to describe their self-regulation process during a learning task. Datas (comportments and verbalisations) extracted from clarification interviews were classified with a content analysis method. A factorial analysis is used to confirm thematic categorization. Self-regulation in physical education can be described with six learning strategies, seven support strategies and four types of knowledgess about learning. Reciprocal relations between components of self-regulation were identified. Knowledges bring about using learning strategies and using learning strategies brings about using support strategies. High achieving in physical education can be significantly predicted with support strategies. Self-regulated students'models were identified : their using of self-regulation components depends on their academic school achievement. Discussing why students chose these components to take charge their own activity, an explorative study suggest that motivational (goals, perception of control) and cognitive (informations processing) factors could affect this process

This thesis aims to argument the rationale that sports bioecological context of futsal has characteristics that can enhance the search for emancipation while also may contribute favoring the colonization by systemic order on the metamorphoses in identity formation process. Therefore, we conducted three studies seeking: (1) to systematically review the literature to verify direction and magnitude of variables related to identity; (2) characterize bioecological context parameters of high performance futsal players; and (3) analyze contextual influences on identity formation through semantic pattern associated with athletic career narrative and life story case studies. In the first study, we systematically reviewed 121 articles categorizing variables associations with identity in demographics, psychosocial support, health problems / injuries, control of life, educational status, self-perception, motivation, personal / career development, commitment sports, eating attitudes, coping strategies, retirement and burnout. Positive and negative associations were identified with specific and non-specific sport variables. In the second and third studies, we interviewed futsal athletes and coaches. In the second study we identified by characterizing athletes ecological systems, that futsal context presents elements that can instigate autonomy seeking behavior within identity expressions, but also enables the heteronomy. In third study we verified through the method of life history and network analysis, a group of athletes with narratives directed to heteronomy with life projects in the logic of instrumental action, and two other groups with narratives directed towards autonomy of their identity expression, with distinction in life projects based on identity politics or political identities. In conclusion, identity can be instigated in an emancipatory direction given context features. However, the way the futsal sport is structured greater possibilities of instrumental action are perceived in relation to success in the sport. Exterior features to the sport such as education or family influences may provide greater multiplicity of roles that result in wealth of meaning when narrating about career and identity, promoting autonomic manifestations in search of a good living
Este trabalho tem como objetivo defender a tese de que o contexto bioecológico esportivo do futsal apresenta características que podem potencializar a busca por emancipação e ao mesmo tempo atributos que favorecem a colonização da ordem sistêmica sobre as metamorfoses no processo de formação identitária. Para tanto, conduzimos três estudos buscando: (1) revisar de forma sistemática a literatura para verificar direção e magnitude da associação de correlatos a identidade; (2) caracterizar os parâmetros do contexto bioecológico dos atletas de futsal de alto rendimento; e (3) analisar a influência do contexto sobre a formação da identidade por meio do padrão semântico associado à narrativa sobre a carreira atlética e estudos de caso sobre a história de vida. No primeiro estudo, revisamos 121 artigos de forma sistemática categorizando as associações de variáveis com identidade em questões demográficas, suporte psicossocial, problemas de saúde/lesões, controle da vida, status educacional, auto-percepção, motivação, desenvolvimento pessoal/carreira, compromisso com o esporte, atitudes alimentares, estratégias de enfrentamento, aposentadoria e burnout. Associações positivas e negativas foram identificadas com variáveis específicas e não-específicas do esporte. No segundo e terceiro estudos, entrevistamos atletas de futsal e técnicos. Identificou-se no segundo estudo, ao caracterizar os sistemas ecológicos dos atletas, que o contexto do futsal apresenta elementos que podem instigar a busca de autonomia em expressões identitárias, mas também possibilita a heteronomia. O terceiro estudo identificou grupos de atletas utilizando o método da história de vida e análise em rede, com discursos direcionados à heteronomia com projetos de vida na lógica do agir instrumental, e outros dois grupos com discursos direcionados à autonomia de sua expressão identitária, com distinção em projetos de vida baseados em políticas de identidade ou identidades políticas. Conclui-se que a identidade pode ser instigada a uma direção emancipatória, dado características do contexto que possibilitem essa direção. Contudo, a forma como a modalidade do futsal se estrutura percebe-se maiores possibilidades de agir instrumental frente ao sucesso no esporte. Características externas ao esporte como estudo ou influencia familiar podem proporcionar maior multiplicidade de papéis que resultam em riqueza de sentidos ao discursar sobre carreira e identidade, favorecendo manifestações autonômicas na busca de um bom viver

Повний текст джерелаSeveral researchers emphasize on the importance of athletic performance enhancement as well as positive and holistic development of the athlete during the delivery of sport psychology services (e.g., Friesen & Orlick, 2010). This positive development is often promoted through school sport where student-athletes have the opportunity to acquire life skills that are essential to contribute positively to their community (Camiré, Trudel, & Forneris, 2011). The aim of the study presented in this master’s thesis was to analyze the sport psychology consultants’ (SPC) work on life skills teaching to student-athletes through the high school sport context. A qualitative approach and a constructivist ontology were used for this study (Merriam & Tisdell, 2015). Semistructured interviews were conducted with seven SPCs. The results of inductive and deductive analyzes revealed that all SPCs are motivated to teach life skills to student-athletes and have expressed the value of transferring learnings acquired in sport to other life contexts. Some life skills teaching strategies (e.g., group workshops) and transfer strategies (e.g., specific discussions) were raised by the SPCs to incorporate into their interventions. However, SPCs with an educational approach mentioned facing daily challenges in teaching and transferring life skills. Having received training in physical education, they expressed a lack of ability to include life skills teaching outside the sport context. The main findings will be presented considering the current literature on CPS and life skills. Finally, this master’s thesis concludes with practical recommendations for SPCs and future avenues of research.

The aim of this work was to verify the State Schools Sport Program's (PEEE) impact in Santa Catarina's public schooling system. For this end, the current organizational structures both of the Schooling National Authority and the Brazilian Sport Authority were studied and analysed, to check the existence of plans and/or projects and specific financial resources for sport in the schools. The PEEE from 2001-1003 was researched regarding number of students, schools and municipalities that were part of it; schools participation's trends in the life of the program; cost/results quotient for student per year and also the provision of played sport modalities and its growth during the three phases when it was offered. The impact of this program in the school community's perception were also evaluated. After that, the lack of an official and specific public policy for school sport inside the schools was a clear fact. As conclusion, the PEEE positive impact resulted in better school community interpersonal relationships, students and teachers' behaviour changes, better quality and quantity of didactic stock arriving at schools, diversity in sport modalities practices and increased self-esteem for the Physical Education teachers.
Este trabalho teve por objetivo verificar o impacto do Programa Estadual Esporte Escolar (PEEE) no contexto da Rede Pública Estadual de Ensino de Santa Catarina. Para isto procurou-se conhecer e se analisou as estruturas organizacionais atuais do Sistema Nacional de Ensino e do Sistema Brasileiro do Esporte, para verificar a existência de planos, programas e/ou projetos e, ainda, recursos financeiros específicos para o esporte escolar. Pesquisou-se o PEEE no triênio 2001-2003 quanto ao número de alunos, escolas e municípios que participaram deste, quanto à evolução da participação das escolas durante a execução deste programa, quanto à relação custo/benefício por aluno/ano, quanto à oferta de modalidades esportivas praticadas e a sua ampliação durante as três etapas, nas quais este foi ofertado. Avaliou-se, ainda a percepção da comunidade escolar. Depois destas avaliações constatou-se a inexistência de uma política pública oficial e específica para o esporte escolar no espaço escola. Concluiu-se assim que o impacto positivo do PEEE melhorou as relações interpessoais na comunidade escolar, mudou comportamentos dos alunos e professores, melhorou a quantidade e a qualidade do material didático que chega às escolas, diversificou a prática das modalidades esportivas e melhorou a auto-estima dos professores de Educação Física.
