Повний текст джерелаIn recent years, we see a shift from traditional physical workplaces to hybrid and remote environments, leading to the adoption of digital workplaces (Malhotra, 2021). Despite their instrumental value such as increased employee productivity, digital workplaces present challenges including employee disconnection and disengagement (Qin & Men, 2022). To address this, organizations attempt to strengthen organizational identification and engagement using people-centric digital workplace platforms. Given the critical role of identity in fostering engagement and performance, in this thesis we examine the phenomenon of IT identity, which refers to positive self-identification with information technology (ITID) (Carter, 2020).Our study examines how employees' use of a digital workplace platform called Employee Advocacy (EA) platform- which enables employees to defend, support, or recommend their organization to their networks- is influenced by the their ITID perceptions. EA fosters re-identification with the organization and is increasingly recognized for its ability to leverage employees' credibility to enhance brand reputation, extend reach, and drive business growth (Silbermann, 2021). While the literature on EA covers its definition and purpose, few studies—especially within Information Systems (IS)—have examined how ITID might impact platform use that facilitate EA programs. This thesis addresses that gap by theorizing the antecedents and outcomes of ITID for the EA platform use context. We do this via two essays. The first essay examines the existence of ITID within EA platforms and leverages ITID theory and IS continuous use and acceptance literature to theorize the two user experience antecedents (functional and emotional) of ITID. The second essay also leverages ITID theory and needs-affordances features perspective to theorize how ITID influences key outcomes of EA platforms- conceptualizing digital employee engagement (DEE), which includes digital employee advocacy (DEA) and digital employee connectedness (DEC). Both essays use a sequential mixed-method approach, starting with a quantitative study followed by a qualitative study. The first study within both essays uses employee reviews of EA platforms as its data (N=1360) to test the theoretical models, while the second study within both essays uses semi-structured interview data obtained from experts of EA platform (N=12) to provide validation and identify boundary conditions to our theorized models. The findings confirm our theorized model in essay one, however, it is moderated by factors such as role identity, social media self-efficacy, and structured platform launch. The results of the second essay also confirm our model. However, we propose that these relationships are moderated by boundary conditions such as change management reinforcement, proactive leaders, organization image. In particular, the essays advance our understanding of IT identity when using digital workplace technologies and its relevance in achieving both humanistic outcomes of digital employee connectedness and instrumental goals of digital employee advocacy. The findings also offer several practical insights for organizations seeking to implement and optimize EA platforms to enhance digital employee engagement through the introduction of the digital workplace

Повний текст джерелаIn the overall context of transition towards the digital era and ubiquitous connectivity, our research focuses on providing guidelines to support companies in the evolution of their development in association with the joint evolution of their products towards multidisciplinary products. This evolution is considered through the modification of the "concepts and techniques" (a formulation that encompasses the approaches, processes, methods and tools) which can be organized to constitute what has been termed in this work a "development structure", conceptualized by a four-level model. The guidelines' proposal includes two facets. The first one, named "scientific literature", establishes the cartographies of the development of mechatronic products, cyber-physical systems and smart products, before synthesizing them into a multidisciplinary product development cartography. The second one, named "industrial practices", documents the way in which 10 companies organize their multidisciplinary product developments. On the strength of the analysis of the gaps in between these two facets, guidelines are proposed for the elaboration of a company-specific development structure. The elaboration of the proposed development structure is based on the association between the challenges related to the development of multidisciplinary products encountered by the company and the concepts and techniques depicted in the scientific literature cartographies. These guidelines were applied at an agricultural equipment manufacturer to support its evolution towards multidisciplinary products

Повний текст джерелаCorporate e-reputation is one of the main key’s to a company’s success and durability; it is not easy to control and its management is complex. The influence of corporate traditional messages (direct signals produced by companies) has reduced in favor of earned medias that never stop spreading. Both professionals and academics wonder about alternative solutions. The digital voice of employees, mainly on professional social networks, seems to be an interesting resource companies still underestimate. This research aims to answer the following general question: can a company build its corporate e-reputation, in order to influence perception, using the voice of its employees through the e-content of their “Profile” on professional social networks? Two quantitative studies (I have conducted) analyze the effective use of LinkedIn Business Pages’ (LBP) and LinkedIn Personal Pages’ (LPP) content as well as the perception of LBP’s and LPP’s quality and renown. A third study tests the influence of LBP’s information and visibility index as well as LPP’s quotation and participation index on LBP’s and LPP’s perceived corporate e-reputation. The moderator role of LBP’s and LPP’s perceived credibility is also discussed. Results – following from the analysis of 10 LBP, 1 000 LPP and 1 500 subjects – confirm the essential role of employees’ digital voice with regard to corporate e-reputation building

Повний текст джерелаOwing to their excellent performances, lead-based piezoelectric materials, in particular PZT and its derivatives are commonly used in ultrasound transducer applications (medical imaging, underwater acoustics). However, since the early 2000, the European Union and other countries around the world have introduced several regulations aimed at limiting the use of lead due to its toxicity, leading the scientific community to intensely focus on lead-free materials with properties comparable to their lead-based counterparts. To evaluate ultrasound transducer performances, numerical simulations are performed which require full knowledge of tensorial properties (elastic, piezoelectric and dielectric) of the materials. In the framework of multiphasic piezoelectric material, different homogenization models have been developed in order to determine full effective properties for lead-free and lead-based materials. The first model, aimed towards 1-3 piezocomposites, relies on fitting computed bulk wave velocities obtained by the finite element method for various propagation directions with closed-formed expressions determined using Christoffel’s tensor. The model was implemented for multiple symmetry class and all effective parameters are accurately determined. The model was successfully compared to other models published in literature. By using phase velocities as our main variable, an experimental implementation of our theoretical approach is therefore possible which may not be the case for other models. The second model which was derived for textured ceramics mainly focuses on the determination of thickness mode related parameters and takes into account porosity, which is generally present in these materials, in order to assess its influence on the material’s properties, in particular the thickness mode coupling coefficient kt. In this model, the textured ceramic is considered as a three phase composite (single crystal for the oriented phase, ceramic for the residual matrix and air) and the concept of connectivity is used to describe the spatial arrangement of the microstructure. The determination of the effective parameters is achieved using a matrix method. Results indicates that for a given degree of texture an increase in coupling coefficient kt linked to the presence of porosity is observed and thus highlights the beneficial role of porosity in these materials.A full database for a BCTZ/epoxy resin 1-3 composite was determined using the first model and two BCTZ based transducers were characterized: a single element BCTZ transducer and a 128 element high frequency (20 MHZ) linear array which incorporates a BCTZ/epoxy resin piezocomposite. Results clearly demonstrate that BCTZ crystals are a viable alternative to lead-based materials

Повний текст джерелаNumerical geological models help to understand the spatial organization of the subsurface. They are also designed to perform numerical simulations to study or predict the rocks physical behavior. The internal structures of geological models are commonly discretized using meshes to solve the physical governing equations. The quality of the meshes can be, however, considerably degraded due to the mismatch between, on the one hand, the geometry and the connectivity of the geological objects to be discretized and, on the other hand, the constraints imposed on number, shape and size of the mesh elements. As a consequence, it may be desirable to modify a geological model in order to generate good quality meshes that allow realization of reliable physical simulations in a reasonable amount of time. In this thesis, I developed strategies for repairing and simplifying 2D geological models, with the goal of easing mesh generation and simulation of physical processes on these models. I propose tools to detect model elements that do not meet the specified validity and level of detail requirements. I present a method to repair and simplify geological cross-sections locally, thus limiting the extension of modifications. This method uses operations to edit both the geometry and the connectivity of the geological model features. Two strategies are thus explored: geometric modifications (local enlargements of the layer thickness) and topological modifications (deletions of small components and local fusions of thin layers). These editing operations produce a model on which it is possible to generate a mesh and to realize numerical simulations more efficiently. But the simplifications of geological models inevitably lead to the modification of the numerical simulation results. To compare the advantages and disadvantages of model simplifications on the physical simulations, I present three applications of the method: (1) the simulation of seismic wave propagation on a cross-section within the Lorraine coal basin, (2) the site effects evaluation related to the seismic wave amplifications in the basin of the lower Var river valley, and (3) the simulation of fluid flows in a fractured porous medium. I show that (1) it is possible to use the physical simulation parameters, like the seismic resolution, to constrain the magnitude of the simplifications and to limit their impact on the numerical simulations, (2) my method of model simplification is able to drastically reduce the computation time of numerical simulations (up to a factor of 55 in the site effects case study) while preserving an equivalent physical response, and (3) the results of numerical simulations can be changed depending on the simplification strategy employed (in particular, changing the connectivity of a fracture network can lead to a modification of fluid flow paths and overestimation or underestimation of the quantity of produced resources)

Повний текст джерелаThe stochastic simulation of discrete fracture network is based on the sampling of distribution law that describes the geometry of natural fracture networks. It generally simulates each fracture by selecting the position, the geometry and the dimensions of a planar object. The general organization of the discrete fracture network emerges from this stationary and stochastic process. This thesis explores a pseudo genetic and stochastic approach using rules that drive the seeding and the propagation of non planar objects, and allow the emergence of a fractal organization. The simulation mimics the natural fracturing process by considering the constraint accumulation zone and the shadow zone associated to each fracture already simulated in the fracture seeding, growth and linkage. We explore the impact of the method on the fractal dimension of discrete fracture network models, and we quantify its impact on both the connectivity and the percolation threshold. The validation of the stochastic approach is based on the realism of models both in terms of geometry and impact on its physical behavior. Our approach constrains the geometry of discrete fracture networks at fracture and at fracture network scales using statistic distribution laws and mechanical concepts. Mechanical discontinuities can also be described by indirect data that quantify the response of the fractured rock volume to dynamic or mechanical stimulation. We propose an efficient way to take into account flow information recorded from tracer tests and microseismic events that trigger after a hydraulic stimulation. The method is integrated during the stochastic simulation in order to remove the need of an optimization process that may be time consuming or may impact the fractal organization of the network

Повний текст джерелаPrevious studies have shown the notable impact of Offshore Wind Farms (OWFs) on the local and potentially regional environment. Indeed, the foundations of wind turbines serve as artificial habitats for a variety of benthopelagic species, thus creating a reef ecosystem. Additionally, the hydro-sedimentary environment near the foundations is altered with the introduction of sheltering effects, turbulent wake, scouring, and ridges, for example. This study focuses on investigating the hydrodynamic effects of the parks on larval dispersion in the extended Seine Bay. The impacts of the parks on the dispersion of both natural species (e.g., mussels and European green crabs) and introduced species (e.g., Japanese oysters and Asian shore crabs) are studied through a coupled physical-biological approach based on numerical modeling. The local scale around a single foundation or a cluster of foundations and then the regional scale of the extended Seine Bay (from the Franco-British maritime border to Hauts-de-France), including OWF of Courseulles-sur-Mer and Fécamp, have been examined. At this scale, the hydrodynamic effects of the foundations vary depending on their type and spatial arrangement. Dispersion simulations highlight a notable sensitivity to foundation geometry and the angle of incident current relative to it. At the regional scale, simulations have underscored their potential role as relay points for species. Larval dispersal from the wind farms has also shown connectivity between the parks themselves and the shores of the extended Seine Bay. To enhance the consideration of physical and biological realities in simulations, the integration of realistic biological parameters is beneficial, as well as considering the cumulative effects of multiple structures within offshore wind farms
