Анотація:

Purpose: The purpose of the paper is to identify the level of involvement of the corporations of the EBRD regions in the implementation of the concept of sustainable development, and to evaluate the applied solutions in the field of green management. Design/methodology/approach: The research methods used in the paper include the review of Polish and foreign literature, and the analysis of data from secondary sources. The desk research analysis was conducted on the basis of numerical information contained in the publication entitled "Transition Report 2019-20" and presented on the website of The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Findings: The result of the conducted research include the indication of the corporations in the countries of the EBRD regions that are leaders in the field of green governance and green management, and identification of factors and the extent to which they have an impact on the implementation of sustainable development postulates. Research limitations/implications: The presented findings encourage further research to determine the causes of drastic differences in the field of green governance and green management in the studied corporations of the EBRD regions and the possibility of limiting them. Practical implications: The analysis and evaluation of the implementation of the main practices of green management in the corporations of the EBRD regions allow to identify leaders in this area and apply the model of their operation (benchmarking) to improve the position of the organizations that show deficits. Social implications: The use of the presented data, analyses and conclusions should imply further actions and strategies in enterprises necessary to implement the concept of sustainable development. Originality/value: The paper synthetically presents the significance of the concept of green governance and the application of green management practices by corporations from the EBRD regions

Анотація:

It is aimed to examine the domestic and foreign studies on the concepts of green product, green production, green economy and sustainability in the literature. A comprehensive literature reviewwas conducted in order to examine the researches on green product, green production, green economy and sustainability. During the literature review, priority was given to journals in the fields of green products and sustainability in order to reach qualified researches on the subject. For this reason, the scope of the journal is limited to the Web of Science index and the journals included inthe Green, Sustainable Science and Technology section of the relevant index in terms of both time constraint and accessibility. In order to reach the concepts and relationships needed to explain theobtained data, the content analysis method, which is a qualitative analysis method, was preferred. As a result of the literature review, 66 foreign and 54 domestic researches obtained from differentsources were classified within the scope of content analysis. As a result of the examination, it was determined that domestic and foreign researches on the concepts of green product, greenproduction, green economy and sustainability focused on the concepts of environmental awareness, green product, green economy, green production and green consumption. As a result of theexaminations, it is thought that it will contribute by eliminating the deficiency in the literature in terms of determining which areas are emphasized in the studies done so far and guiding the studiesto be done from now on.

Анотація:

This study aims to describe the concept of Green Banking in the review of the Qur'an through the approach of Ijmali and Maudhu's interpretation method as its analysis knife. Content analysis is carried out on the verses that are specifically chosen on the basis of their association with the term fasad in the category of environmental damage namely Surah Al-Baqarah [2]: 205 and Surah Ar-Rum [30]: 41. This is because the beginning of the concept of green banking emerged due to environmental damage ,. The research findings revealed from the two verses that it was found that the meaning of damage meant in essence was natural damage (both physical and non-physical) due to anthropogenic factors. Islamic banking in the provision of financing must prioritize projects that are pro-environment and pay attention to aspects of sustainability, both economic, socio-cultural environment or known as Triple P (People, Planet and Profit) with the principles of fairness, balance, benefit, economical and avoid the tyranny.

The shrinking land in urban areas and the worsening world climate crisis have created a new residential development problem. One way to maximize land designated for residential use is to build vertical housing, such as constructing flats and apartments that can accommodate more residents in a limited area. However, it also creates new problems because the use of energy required for a building will be extensive. The application of Green Architecture is an effort to reduce energy use for buildings and reduce the negative impact of buildings on the environment. one helpful reference is applying green architectural concepts. The apartment Wanakota is designed using the green building concept with the Indonesian Green Building Council (GBCI). Wanaka means City Forest, and trees inspire this name as trees. This tree is not only an aesthetic enhancer but as a CO2 absorber and oxygen supplier in the environment.

Анотація:

The research object is a green roof. The author reviews the modern tendencies and approaches to using accessible roofs which are developing concomitantly. The first approach focuses on studying the constructive peculiarities, organizational innovations, the existing systems, schemes and ways of arranging an accessible roof, as well as the problems caused by incorrect projecting and errors of construction. The second approach considers green roofs in terms of their possible good influence on the ecological situation in cities and notes their advantages both for people and the environment. This approach prioritizes not over technical arrangement but planting - the intensive one (the creation of landscaped recreational objects which involves significant financial expenses), or the extensive one (green planting). The research methods include the analysis of scientific works, generalization of data on green roofs, its analysis, detection of common tendencies, strengths and weaknesses. The author formulates the following conclusions: Nowadays, there are two types of accessible roofs usage: the traditional one and the inversive one; They differ in the order of layering: in the traditional organization of a green roof the heat-insulating layer is mounted under the water-insulating one, while in the inversive one - above; An inversive roof has several advantages including lifetime extension and the reduction of costs associated with its creation and maintenance; The problem of water collection organization can be solved by means of an external or internal downpipe, or a water collector with separate flowcups; Green roofs help mitigate unfavourable ecological situation in cities. The article describes the concept of a rooftop cafe developed within the project on the discipline “Ecological projecting in an urbanized environment” and the principles of landscaping elements selection.

Анотація:

Due to the rapid increase of environmental concerns among consumers and their interest in purchasing eco-friendly and environmentally safe goods and services, a considerable amount of research has been carried out on theoretical and practical aspects of green marketing. Thus, the study provides an analysis of the role of environmental factor in enhancing competitive advantages of the company. The authors conclude that the growth of company competitiveness results in the greater interest of prospective investors in improving company environmental performance. The aim of the article is to systematize competitive strategies of green marketing aimed at attracting green investments. The authors claim that green marketing is based not only on the analysis of investment activity and estimation of project profitability, but also on sound decision-making in the developing and implementing environmental investment projects, which contribute to the reduction of CO2 emission and environmental pollution, improvement of resource and energy efficiency, conservation of biological diversity, etc. Taking into account research results from current studies, the authors consider green investments as traditional investment activities within projects aimed at improving environmental performance of companies. Based on the analysis of relevant studies, the key competitive strategies of green marketing for attracting green investments are iidentified. The authors come to the conclusion that in the contemporary society there are gender stereotypes which have a strong impact on consumers’ behaviour, and as a result, women and men have different views on green initiatives. It is found that with a more efficient use of resources some companies are able to pay off green investments, while other companies see creating a new eco-brand as the best way of achieving competitive advantages. The results of the article make it possible to assume that companies should develop green strategies, bearing in mind gender stereotypes and striving for more gender-neutral green products. The results of the article make it possible to further study specific features of green marketing strategies, attract more green investments and transform them into the source of competitive advantages.

Turquoise has played an important role in the Southwest, both today and in the distant past. Increasingly, archaeologists are coming to appreciate that the mineral was likely valued for its symbolism, rather than its chemical properties or economic worth. Thus, the color blue-green and a variety of blue-green things may have been conceptually analogous, together referencing and petitioning moisture. J. J. Brody recognized that additional symbols, while not themselves blue-green, may have likewise belonged to this blue-green complex. Over a decade ago, and while testing Brody's hypothesis, Stephen Plog convincingly argued that black-on-white hachure in Gallup-Dogoszhi pottery served as a proxy for blue-green. Here, we ask whether Mimbres artists incorporated the same symbolism. Findings suggest that Mimbres hachure was likely representative of color but not necessarily blue-green. In fact, it may have referenced yellow. Yellow and blue are often paired among the Pueblos, and interregional differences in the meaning of hachure may relate to interregional complementarity.

To achieve the target of 30% of the total area's green space area, causing Jakarta and other big cities to make efforts to accelerate the provision of green space. Efforts to provide and manage it did not go as expected. The problem lies in the planning, implementation, utilization, and control relating to institutions, financing, and community participation. That causes the management of Green Open Space (GOS) is not running effectively and efficiently. The main problem is the unavailability of clear guidelines on implementing green space management and ineffective phasing related to the determination of terms of reference with budget constraints. Based on previous research, the concept of sustainable landscape design in harmony with sustainable development is the right way to solve this problem. This study aims to discuss how the concept of sustainable landscape design can be bundled by governance involved in managing green space using action research based on soft systems methodology. It will provide a conceptual model of packaging efforts so that it becomes a reference in various actions to provide and manage green space to achieve effective and efficient GOS management.

Since the last decade, the concepts of green innovation and green economy have become more and more attractive to researchers and policymakers. This research brings some light to the association of those themes with the concept of green energy. Therefore, this paper is a critical review of the green innovations directed explicitly to the green energy challenges faced by organizations and the world economies. The research question is as follows: What are the main dimensions of a model to implement a green innovation process focused on green energy in organizations? The methodology used to answer the research question was qualitative, and the main techniques included a systematic literature search and survey. The main findings of the study were the identification of the most relevant dimensions of a green innovation model to be implemented in organizations. The article structure is based on the different concepts about innovation and green innovation, related to the green economy, and the analysis of two situational cases on green energy. Finally, we present the analysis made on the articles identified by the literature survey and the green innovation model. By making this research on green economy and related concepts of green innovation and green energy, this paper seeks to make a valid contribution to their definitions and for operationalizing the green innovation model in organizations.

Анотація:

During the 20th century, a variety of concepts were developed aimed to provide frameworks for green space planning and design in urban areas. Both China and Scandinavia represent important experience in green space planning and management. However, none of the current concepts is generated based on the explicit combination of both a Western and Eastern context. In this paper, based on the analysis of various green space planning concepts and their development, a novel “hybrid’ approach is introduced. This “Green Network’ concept focuses on green and blue connectivity in urban areas and comprises the network of green spaces and the surface water system within and around settlements. The concept offers a platform for integrating best practices from Scandinavian and Chinese open space planning and can provide a guiding tool for sustainable urban development.

Анотація:

Green attributes transparency presents new opportunities and challenges to advertisers. This study developed a research framework to enhance consumers’ willingness to adopt green cosmetics from several green constructs, such as corporate transparency, corporate social responsibility (CSR), green brand image, green brand trust, and green brand equity, and showed the green field strategy implications. This study commissioned a professional survey company to distribute an online questionnaire of cosmetic using experience to the participants. AMOS statistics software was used to analyze the measurement reliability and validity, and to examine the research hypotheses using structural equation modeling. The contribution of the study aimed to provide a correct standpoint for new concepts of green strategy in accordance with environmental trends, activities, and positive enterprise image to increase the consumers’ willingness to adopt green cosmetics from five constructs.

Achieving sustainable and environmentally friendly architecture is one of the main goals people have made to better life as the final model for their professional activities. Thus, moving towards greener architecture is considered the primary goal of the architecture of our time. The purpose of this study is to analyze architectural projects that have already been implemented in Middle Eastern countries in terms of their compatibility with the objective concepts of sustainability and the green standards they require. Therefore, for review and study, the purpose of this article is to discover the level of sustainability classification system such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) that can be effective in classifying current architectural projects. Studies show three concepts for analyzing contemporary architecture: 1. green, 2. false green, and 3. energy-seller. Besides, these studies have shown that some projects, although attempting to convey sustainable architecture concepts in appearance, are not sustainable. In recent stages, this paper intends to evaluate the effectiveness of the LEED classification system. In evaluating the LEED classification system, the results show that the system’s purpose is more for planning purposes than objective design goals and practical tools for analyzing the architectural design process. The analysis based on this study shows that it is necessary to use design-based patterns to move false green architecture to green architecture.

The spotlight on “smart and green” has never been so bright and, within the hotel sector, emphasis on opportunities such as sustainability and digitisation are quickly shaping the agenda. This paper explores key components of the “smart and green” agenda among Irish hotels in the Republic of Ireland and how these concepts relate to their public customer image. While the multifaceted hybrid model of “smart and green” hotels is rapidly emerging as the new theme in the sustainable tourism industry, previous literature failed to address the issue in relation to a lack of uptake from Irish hoteliers. A post-positivistic paradigm was adopted for this study. Primary data indicates that most hoteliers were positively receptive towards “smart” and “green” despite many challenges. This research will interest policy makers, central government, tourism organisations and hotel practitioners.

The application of green concepts on campus starts from the formulation of the vision and mission, ratification of policies and development processes. The main problems in the effort to realize a green campus include a lack of involvement and individual awareness of sustainability issues and campus users are unaware of the sustainability that occurs on campus. Individual awareness and involvement of staff and students are needed to create a green campus. The purpose of this study was to analyze what educational activities should be carried out to increase awareness of realizing a green campus. There are several educational activities regarding green concepts aimed to campus users. Education activities such as courses on sustainable environment, research, seminars, student organizations in environmental activities, green campus promotions/campaign and paperless became independent variables in this study. This study uses quantitative methods with Factor analysis. The research was conducted at the Universitas Sumatera Utara. Data was collected by distributing questionnaire forms with respondents as many as 400 students. The results showed that education, practical and seminar activities about the importance of green concepts, green campus campaigns, and green applications on campus such as paperless needed to be done in raising awareness to realize a green campus.

Abstract Subject and purpose of work: The aim of the study is to present the concept of green economy and other notions and concepts related to it and to assess their significance for the formation of development policy and a practical solution to problems of socio-economic development. Materials and methods: The paper is based on the analysis of documents and literature mainly referring to the concepts of “green economy”, “green growth” and “green deal” in the context of “sustainable development goals”. Results: The paper deals with the reasons for the emergence of the greening of economic processes as a new phenomenon of contemporary development, as well as various definitions of green economy, green growth, the principles of implementing green economy and green transformation processes. The study presents the milestones for the development of the European and global green economy and green growth, and their relationsip to the concept and goals of sustainable development. The review of the concept of green economy and green growth comprises the definitions prepared by specialized agencies of the United Nations UNEP, UNCTAD, UN ESCAP, UN FGG, OECD, the European Union and the World Bank. The main principles proposed by international organizations to be applied in the implementation of the green economy transformation policy are also discussed. Conclusions: The conclusions indicate a wide range of the concepts presented, the ambiguity of their definitions and the need for further research in this area.

The purpose of the paper is to explain the widely-observed phenomenon that the benefits of some apparently environmentally friendly solutions are much smaller than predicted. The applied research method is a systematic review of papers belonging to the ‘business and environment’ and ‘environmental science and technology’ literatures. Qualitative and interpretive research is used to support our propositions. Five key concepts accounting for the pitfalls associated with environmental sustainability-oriented (ESO) interventions have been identified and illustrated with reallife examples. Overlooked (1) interconnections among resources and environmental impacts, e.g. trade-offs, reveal that (2) system boundaries are often ill-defined, which can easily result in (3) problem shifting from one aspect of corporate environmental performance to another or from one stage in the life cycle to another. Additionally, false (4) assumptions and a strong (5) contextuality of best practices also overshadow the outcomes of ESO interventions. The relation among these general concepts is analysed and a graphic representation is provided.

Subject. The article addresses the principles of circular economy in their relationship with the principles of sustainable development and green economy. Objectives. The aim is to clarify the principles of circular economy and green economy, establish the relationship of principles of these concepts, propose new principles of circular economy. Methods. The study rests on methods of analysis, synthesis, comparative and causal analysis. Results. The paper presents a comparative analysis of principles of the green economy. On its basis, a new interpretation of the concept principles is offered. Taking into account the interrelation of the concepts of green and circular economies, the paper also clarifies the principles of the circular economy. The framework of the circular economy is supplemented by principles of regional specificity, recovery, regeneration and reclamation. I propose to consider the framework of circular economy from the point of view of "principles-conditions" and "principles-actions". Conclusions. Despite its popularity, the paradigm of the circular economy has not been properly formed. The scientific literature still lacks a systems and comprehensive analysis of its conceptual foundations. The principles of circular economy should reflect the relationship of the concept with the fundamental principles of sustainable development and the green economy, though have their own specifics.

This study was conducted to determine the trends at the intersection of studies made on green infrastructure and ecosystem services, which have frequently become preferred in establishing urban−green space relationships in global research. Green-related concepts have frequently been used from past to present in order to neutralise the increasing pressures on urban dynamics resulting from rapid urbanisation. Green corridor, green belt, green structure, and green finger/hand concepts have been used to provide recreational opportunities, protect nature, and keep urban sprawl under control. For the last decade, however, in addition to the traditional green concepts, green infrastructure (GI) and ecosystem services (ES) have been preferred in contemporary urban planning, as they enable the integration of the ecological concerns of the landscape and the socio-political perspective. The aim of this study is to detect the trends of the green infrastructure and ecosystem services association, and to reveal these trends in the common area with the bibliometric mapping method. The economic concept and its analysing use at the intersection of green infrastructure and ecosystem services were explored with VOSviewer using the Scopus® database. Furthermore, the number of documents, which initially began with around 39,719 studies, was reduced by filtering through systematic reviews, to only three documents that met the economic valuation criteria. In this way, a lack of economic analyses, creating a serious research gap within the framework of green infrastructure and ecosystem services, was quantitatively determined.

Green manufacturing is a sustainable approach, designed to use energy, water and other resources more efficiently thereby reducing the overall impact on the environment. Improved quality of life, better health conditions and diminished costs are other benefits. This paper focuses mainly on the foundry industry, as being very energy intensive, it offers immense scope for the application of green concepts. A case study conducted in a foundry in Tamil Nadu, gives an over view as to how green manufacturing can be made possible in the foundry industry. Each process involved in the foundry was analyzed using green concepts and alternatives and suggestions were made. Additional green strategies have also been discussed.
