Анотація:

To date, there have been only limited attempts to conceptually unify ex situ and in situ approaches as parts of an integrated conservation methodology. This paper is an attempt of such conceptual integration of existing approaches for the efficient conservation of rare and endangered plant species. My integration of available plant conservation biology literature is based on the idea that ecologically significant species genetic variation is of primary importance for plant conservation. This idea is used for providing guidelines about inventory of existing populations, sampling and propagating sampled material, and use of this material in species recovery actions.

Анотація:

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop the role of integration flexibility as a mediator of acquisition performance and demonstrate how this capability varies across firms. Design/methodology/approach The study develops a conceptual framework of anticipated relationships by building on existing but so far unintegrated acquisition research. Findings The study suggests integration flexibility provides an explanation for variance in acquisition performance. The study identifies drivers behind acquisition integration flexibility in acquirer characteristics, deal characteristics and integration management. The authors further specify the positive and negative impact of several key factors commonly discussed in acquisition research. Research limitations/implications Integration flexibility stands out as a novel explanation for acquisition performance. Still, the benefits from flexibility are not universal and developed logic suggests it represents a dynamic capability for acquirers. Our framework helps predict which acquirers and deals are more likely demonstrating this capability, thus contributing to predict acquisition performance. Practical implications Acquisitions often take place in dynamic environments and reportedly often fail. Predicting and developing acquisition integration flexibility stands out as an important task for acquiring management. Social implications Annual global acquisition values are on par with the GDP of large industrial nations (e.g. Germany) and failures for reasons of lacking acquisition integration flexibility contributes to value destruction harming not only firms, but society at large. Improved integration flexibility likely mediates this risk. Originality/value Making an acquisition to adapt to environmental change implicitly assumes greater integration that can limit flexibility. While our argument builds on key concepts from acquisition research these so far have remained unconnected in relation to acquisition integration flexibility. The authors develop factors influencing this important capability and show how it mediates acquisition performance. This links acquisition antecedents with integration or phases typically treated separately.

Past intrapreneurship research has mainly focused on a firm internal environment and its beneficial and impeding effects on intrapreneurship. This study extends previous theory of intrapreneurship by recognizing that intra-firm-based organizational processes need to be complemented by inter-firm processes. Propositions are developed highlighting relationships between intrapreneurship and its predictors. The following organizational characteristics that influence intrapreneurship are proposed: intra-firm and inter-firm communication, formal controls and trust, organizational support and values, environmental scanning, and network characteristics.

In the article author allocated four approaches to the interpretation of category �efficiency�, namely: (1) target (qualitative); (2) resource; (3) resultant; (4) degree of implementation of planned indicators. Grounded allocation two categories of efficiency of functioning systems and subsystems � of market and sector. Proposed author's definition categories �efficiency of integrated commodity market�, namely: productivity the usage and the balance of intersectored movement of material, financial, labor and information resources for reproduction development of market system and increasing its integration level with ensuring the priority of interests the state and society. This definition develops of a resource-targeted approach to category �efficiency�. Efficiency of sector the integrated market can be interpreted in context of the resultant approach as a ratio of result to costs, which ensured its receipt. Defined three types of integration links between subjects of different sectors and markets: (1) sectored links; (2) inter-sectored links; (3) inter-market links � internal and external. Identified four stages of formation of integration links in multi-level of market systems: (1) establishment of links between elements of system; (2) strengthening links; (3) increasing the number of links; (4) emergence of new relationships, new integrative properties of the system. Substantiated the integration function of commodity market in macro system. The author proposed a conceptual approach to evaluating the effectiveness of integrated commodity market based on convergence of reproduction, logistics, integration and regulatory approaches, what forms the foundation of methodical assessment basis.

Анотація:

The paper is devoted to the methodological tasks of conducting transdisciplinary research of TI, that have been leading to the tasks of integrating the knowledge of various stakeholders. The methodological framework of the study includes a systematic approach, the provisions of knowledge engineering and social psychology. The methodological basis of TI is formulated, the essence of which is the identification, coordination and integration of individual and collective structures of knowledge. The requirements to the procedure of knowledge integration of different stakeholders are defined: to form an understanding of the complexity of problems, to take into account the diversity of the real world and scientific perception of problems, the link of abstract and specific knowledge of a particular situation, the use of the concept of the common good as a regulatory basis for harmonizing multiple values and norms. Conceptual models are considered as an integration tool. The theoretical and practical significance of the study lies in the rationale for the application of methods of joint conceptual modeling as a tool for integration and coordination of various types of knowledge and organization of communication processes in a stakeholders group.

Анотація:

The aim of the paper is to uncover the extent to which different forms of political Internet humour can criticise current political affairs in a developing democracy such as Bosnia and Herzegovina. Specifically, applying a cognitive linguistic theory of meaning construction, namely conceptual integration theory, the paper analyses the construction of meaning of humorous Internet forms, such as memes, demotivational posters, hashtag posts, and memetic photographs, representing innovative ways of providing political commentaries on current political affairs. The meaning of political humour is constructed in conceptual blending as a basic cognitive mechanism. As it is claimed (Coulson & Pascual 2006, Coulson & Oakley 2006, Coulson 2006, Oakley & Coulson 2008) that blending can be used as a rhetorical tool influencing the audience to change the reality and even act upon it, the analysis of the construction of meaning of political humour as products of conceptual integration can reveal hidden ideologies in political discourse.
