Анотація:
The development of all spheres of public life is associated with the optimization of information processes (collection, storage, processing, transmission of information), so modern society is called information. Modern information and communication technologies play an important role in teaching a foreign language in non-philological higher education institutions. The organization of education using electronic tools allows significant deepening the professional knowledge and optimizing the educational process for students. Modern lexicography has significantly expanded and strengthened its tools with computer technology for creating and using dictionaries. Special programs (databases, computer files, word processing programs) let us automatically generate dictionary entries, store dictionary information and process it. The purpose of the study is to reveal the specifics of computer lexicography use for training managers in a modern agricultural university. To achieve this goal, a set of methods was used: theoretical: comparison and generalization (study of the degree of scientific development of the term “computer lexicography”), analysis, synthesis and generalization of psychological, pedagogical and methodological literature, theoretical forecasting and modeling of computer lexicography to determine scientific bases of the researched problem; empirical: diagnostic methods (interviews, interviews with teachers, questionnaires, analysis of products of professional activity of teachers, which provide philological disciplines in teaching the agricultural managers). The analysis of the problem showed its insufficient representation in modern scientific works. The article characterizes the role of disciplines of the philological cycle in the professional training of higher education students majoring in “Management”; the term “computer lexicography” is defined and its typology is singled out; the conditions for the introduction of computer lexicography in the educational process of agricultural universities are determined; analyzed software for the introduction of elements of computer lexicography in training the marketing specialists in agricultural universities; the positive and negative aspects of the use of computer lexicography as a component of education are revealed. The article for the first time revealed the specifics of the use of computer lexicography in teaching the philological disciplines for the specialty “Management” at the universities in the agricultural sector. The variety of trends in the introduction of computer lexicography at all stages of teaching the discipline is obvious, and, in particular, the variety of approaches to the creation of electronic dictionaries of different types. The obtained results allow deepening the knowledge of future specialists in the field of management, expanding the interests of higher education seekers, simplifying the work of students with special terminology, systematizing the acquired knowledge, improving the quality of philological disciplines through the introduction of information and communication technologies.

The article develops the idea formulated by Olga Iosifovna Blinova, professor of Tomsk State University, according to which lexicography is one of the methods of studying vocabulary. The material of the study included: (1) theoretical works by Olga Blinova, (2) her lexicographic works, (3) lexicographic experiments of the author of the article and their theoretical understanding, (4) works of other authors on related issues. The main research method used in the article is a comparison of concepts and principles of their implementation in different authors to identify the features of Blinova’s lexicographic theory and practice. The author interprets lexicographizing of a word as a specific approach to the description of its semantics, as a way of its modeling, which consists in its discretization – transformation of continuous semantic space of the language into notional quanta, clots of meaning. In the study, this method is contrasted with other methods of language modeling found in applied language descriptions: in the methods of language teaching, in translation and in compilation of computer programs on a linguistic basis in particular. Much attention is paid to the concept of lexical parameterization, which occurs in the process of lexicographic modeling of the semantic reality of the language. The most important principle of semantics modeling is the parameterization of the meaning of a word and vocabulary in general. The article discusses the features of parameterization in explanatory dictionaries against the background of their opposition to other types of dictionaries: encyclopedic, motivational dictionaries, dictionaries of everyday interpretations of words and frequency dictionaries. To identify these features, the definitions of words in explanatory and encyclopedic dictionaries are analyzed. Such important trends in modern lexicography as overcoming the absolutization of the discreteness of semantics and its simplified definition are analyzed. The article explores the tendency of lexicography to an antropocentric modeling of semantics in dictionaries, a particular manifestation of which is the representation of the content of a word as a conceptual content. In more detail, the article highlights the specifics of the motivational dictionary – one of the main lexicographic works by Blinova, who developed the concept of this type of dictionary and implemented it in practice by creating the Motivational Dialect Dictionary. The final section of the article analyzes Blinova’s idea about the possibility of implementing a project of a complex dictionary, in which the meaning of each word is considered in the mirror of a set of parameters which together give a systematic idea of the functioning, semantics and linguistic connections of the word. The article draws conclusions about the role of Blinova’s theoretical heritage for semasiology, dialectology and lexicography of the Russian language.

The code is developed in the form of a hypertext system in a nonlinear form, taking into account the relational, hierarchical and network paradigmatic relations through the implementation of syntagmatic relations in an interactive mode on a personal computer digitized lexicographic materials of the Russian language, which will allow on the basis of digital technologies through appropriate classification and systematization, digitalization and retrodigitization of dictionaries, reference books and encyclopedias and other lexicographic materials of the Russian language to structure, to systematize and unify the lexicographical material in a single body, thus providing operational input in a scientific turn with the purpose of optimization of scientific research in modern lexicography.

Historical lexicography systematically conducts scientific research of historical lexicological, historical dialectological, historical phonetic, historical grammatical works and sources that allow us to study the historical vocabulary and vocabulary of the Kazakh language from a comprehensive linguistic point of view, determines ways, methods and methods of their use in the formation of historical dictionaries. The theory of historical lexicography serves as a scientific and theoretical basis for the practice of creating etymological, historical-dialectological, and historical dictionaries of the Kazakh language and allows them to be improved. At the same time, in accordance with the scientific level of modern lexicography, there is a need to define the goals and objectives, structural features, and principled foundations of historical lexicography in Kazakh linguistics. Due to the development of the scientific and information space in modern society and the improvement of the lexicography industry, the development of historical lexicography and computer historical lexicography also has an impact on the dynamic development. XV-XX centuries of the Kazakh language. one of the most important tasks of modern Kazakh linguistics is the creation of an electronic body of texts and a historical electronic file fund (journalistic, epistolary, from works of art, oral literature, historical records, etc.), dictionaries of a historical character created for different centuries, a historical dictionary of the modern Kazakh language, a historical and etymological dictionary of the Kazakh language, reflecting the manifestation of Kazakh cultural and spiritual, national values in the language. It is necessary to define the main principles of forming a historical and etymological dictionary and create an electronic Historical Dictionary both in the field of Turkology and Kazakh linguistics. This is one of the guarantees of a deeper understanding of the historical layers of the Kazakh language, that our native language will not be absorbed in the era of globalization.

The purpose of the article is to offer an approach to the typology of electronic dictionaries. To achieve this goal it is necessary to perform the following tasks: 1) analyze the typology of electronic dictionaries at the present stage of development of computer lexicography, 2) define the concept of “electronic dictionary” and analyze the characteristics to be considered in classifying electronic dictionaries; 3) propose criteria for constructing a typology of electronic dictionaries.Methods. The work used a set of methods of theoretical research: comparative analysis of linguistic sources to determine the state of development of the research problem; methods of analysis, synthesis and systematization of different approaches to address the issue of typology of modern electronic dictionaries.Results. The article considers different approaches of scientists to the systematization of lexicographic publications; the difference between the concepts of “typology” and “classification” of lexicographic publications is determined; the main criteria for classification of lexicographic publications are analyzed. The authors investigated the typology of electronic dictionaries; the concept of “electronic dictionary” is specified, its main features are singled out, which must be taken into account when constructing the typology of electronic dictionaries.Conclusions. Summarizing the authors’ proposals on the typology of dictionaries, the main criteria by which they are classified are determined by: the number of represented languages, function, type of word description, type of system relations between words, parameter of dictionary description unit, purpose, vocabulary organization, the field of language use, the origin of vocabulary, historical perspective, characteristics of word types, stylistic use, source of lexicography, by normative characteristics, design and detailing of information, quantitative composition of lexicographic source and volume of lexicographic information. We propose to classify electronic dictionaries according to the generally accepted parameters: 1) vocabulary, 2) number of languages, 3) purpose; 4) observance of language norms; and according to criteria specific only to computer lexicography: 1) linguistic; 2) the dichotomy “paper dictionary – electronic dictionary”; 3) the presence of terms used in one or more areas in the case of terminological dictionaries; 4) information form.Key words: lexicography, lexicographic editions, classification of dictionaries, classification criteria. Метою статті є запропонувати підхід до типології електронних словників. Для досягнення мети необхідним є виконання таких завдань: 1) проаналізувати типологію електронних словників на сучасному етапі розвитку комп’ютерної лексикографії, 2) визначити поняття «електронний словник» та проаналізувати характеристики, які необхідно враховувати в процесі класифікації електронних словників; 3) запропонувати критерії для побудови типології електронних словників.Методи. У роботі використовувався комплекс методів теоретичного дослідження: порівняльний аналіз лінгвістичних джерел із метою визначення стану розробленості проблеми дослідження, методи аналізу, синтезу та систематизація різних під-ходів для вирішення питання щодо класифікації сучасних електронних словників.Результати. У статті розглянуто різні підходи науковців до систематизації лексикографічних видань; визначено відмінність між поняттями «типологія» та «класифікація» лексикографічних видань; проаналізовано основні критерії класифікації лексикографічних видань. Авторами досліджено типологію електронних словників на сучасному етапі розвитку комп’ютерної лексикографії, уточнено поняття «електронний словник», виокремлено його головні ознаки, що необхідно враховувати під час побудови типології електронних словників.Висновки. Підсумовуючи пропозиції авторів щодо типології словників, визначено основні критерії, за якими їх класифікують: за кількістю представлених мов, за функцією, за типом характеристики слова, за типом системних відношень між словами, за параметром одиниці опису словники, за цільовим призначенням, за способом організації лексики, залежно від сфери вживання мови, за походженням лексики, за історичною перспективою, за характеристикою типів слів, за стилістичним використанням, за джерелом лексикографування, за нормативними характеристиками, за оформленням і деталізацією інформації, за кількісним складом лексикографічного джерела і обсягом лексикографічної інформації. Електронні словники пропонуємо класифікувати як за загальноприйнятими параметрами, тобто 1) словниковий запас (словники загального призна-чення чи спеціального призначення), 2) кількість мов (одномовні, двомовні та багатомовні словники), 3) призначення (переклад, тлумачення), 4) дотримання мовних норм (словники літературної чи розмовної мови), так і за критеріями, властивими лише комп’ютерній лексикографії: 1) лінгвістичні (текстові та гіпертекстуальні словники, з гіпертекстом, що пов’язує записи та зовнішні мовні ресурси, такі як Вікіпедія, Lingvo.pro тощо), 2) дихотомія «паперовий словник – електронний словник» (заснований на паперовому словнику та нещодавно розробленому), 3) наявність термінів, що використовуються в одній або кількох областях у випадку термінологічних словників (словники, що містять терміни, які будуть використовуватися в одній або кількох областях), 4) інформаційна форма: текстові словники, аудіословники та відеословники.Ключові слова: лексикографія, лексикографічні видання, класифікація словників, критерії класифікації.

The purpose of the article is to study the dynamics of electronic dictionaries development abroad and in Ukraine using methods of analysis of scientific sources, comparison, generalization and systematization. Electronic dictionaries have been found to be a relatively new phenomenon in the lexicographic market, evolving from machine-readable dictionaries, exact copies of paper editions to complex digital lexicographic systems with a powerful arsenal of functions over the decades. The stages of development of autonomous and online dictionaries are described. Electronic dictionaries due to the advanced search capabilities, speed, simplicity, ease of use, accessibility and compactness have gained popularity among a wide range of users. Today they are used in many spheres of human activity – scientific, educational, professional, everyday communication. However, the analysis of the current level of development of Ukrainian electronic resources indicates a shortage of electronic dictionaries both common and terminological vocabulary. The lack of electronic dictionaries is due to a number of objective problems, both practical and theoretical, that is why research in the field of domestic computer lexicography is a promising area of further research.

Abstract The exploitation of databases for lexical purposes has undergone extensive development during the first two decades of the 21st century. The methodological implications of this fruitful alliance between corpora and electronic dictionaries nonetheless deserve particular attention, the digital aspects as well as those pertaining to lexicology and metalexicography. The integration of the non-literary vocabulary of the Documents linguistiques galloromans into the database of the Dictionnaire Étymologique de l’Ancien Français (DEAFpré), currently in progress, provides an opportunity to illustrate the demands of a rigorous conception of computer-based lexicography (i. e. based on sound philological principles, ideally innovative, manual treatment of lexemes with a computer-assisted element, concentration on etymological, semantic and syntagmatic aspects). The case-study presented in this article focuses on the potential for interpretation afforded by corpus-based lexicography, its other main aim being an evaluation of the results and the cost in terms of time. The computerised system elaborated for this purpose can be extended to other projects, particularly those focusing on medieval Galloromania.

This article studies the problem of making a multimodal computer dictionary with historical and cultural components for EFL classrooms. The relevance of the research topic is associated with the development of computer lexicography as a branch of applied linguistics at the intersection with digital humanities and digital pedagogy, as well as with the active development of new methods and tools in the practice of teaching foreign languages. The object of the research is a multimodal learners’ computer dictionary that visualizes semantic changes in lexicon of the English language, in particular, the key lexemes of the thematic field “еducation”. The purpose of this article is to substantiate the problems of creating an educational multimodal dictionary of a historical and cultural type in computer lexicography. One of the objectives of the research is to study the specific semantic features of the units in the thematic field “education” in the multimodal learner’s dictionary. The multimodal dictionary plays an important role in the interaction of the user with the virtual system, where the dictionary is not only an additional reference book but also a multifunctional means of teaching and obtaining information about the culture of the target language countries, including the dynamics of its development. The introduction of such dictionaries into teaching is the key to successful immersion in the culture of the target language country and mastering language competencies. This article presents the elements of typology and principles of building computer dictionaries, notes the role of a multimodal computer dictionary in teaching a foreign language, and proposes a model of a learner’s multimodal dictionary of historical and cultural type for EFL classroom, as well as outlines the stages of dynamic development in English vocabulary.

Within the framework of cognitive linguistics and construction grammar (as in Lakoff 1987; Langacker 2000; Goldberg 1995; and Fried and Östman 2004), it is claimed in this paper that the semantics of psuche (psyche) is motivated by cognitive, cultural, and constructional parameters of meaning. More specifically, it is argued that psyche, as the immaterial nature of a human being, and the seat of emotions and feelings in particular, is understood in terms of image-based metaphors, a cultural model of the self, and a cultural narrative of existence. It is also argued that the frequent occurrence of psyche in a number of collocations and idioms motivates and constrains constructional meaning. At the same time, constructions motivate extended senses of this word, thereby contributing to its polysemy and ultimately to semantic change. The evidence presented within this framework argues against a fixed borderline between lexical and constructional meaning. This view, long and tacitly adopted in lexicographic practice by necessity, is gaining further support within current research in the framework of lexicography (Fillmore 2008; Hanks 2008), corpus linguistics (Fellbaum 2007), lexical semantics (Taylor et al. 2003), language change (Bybee 2006a), and construction grammar (Boas 2008).

The article tackles current problems of onomastic data presentation and correct delivering of its typological and semantic features in a modern dialectal dictionary. This particularly refers to a comprehensive electronic dialectal dictionary which covers a whole set of lexicographic fields of an article’s microstructure, including paradigmatic, syntagmatic, and additional ethnocultural information. The case is observed with the currently developed electronic Dictionary of the Russian Sub-dialect of Loyma Village of the Priluzsky District of the Komi Republic that builds on a machine-based version of the original dictionary. The authors proceed from describing the composition and the main categories of the onomastic vocabulary of the target (Loyma) sub-dialect: major groups of personal names (individual and social), toponyms (including names of cities, water bodies, and various microtoponyms), as well as some peripheral categories of proper names (names of peoples, local residents, etc.). It is noted that the onomastic vocabulary of the Loyma dialect shows a number of peculiar traits, such as extensive variability and synonymy, high incidence of emotional, evaluative, expressive, and stylistic features which reflect the specificity of the sub-dialect’s stylistic system distinctive from that of the standard Russian language. It is concluded that dealing with “living” Russian dialects, the task of creating computer-based versions of hard-copy dictionaries relates not only to the preservation of existing dialectal material but also to the addition and restructuring of these dictionaries to create multi-purpose lexicographic products, tapping cultural potential of the entire dialect, both the onomastic and the lexical.

The project is aimed not only at the high-quality translation and word sense disambiguation but also at the cross-linguistic analysis and at comparing the semantics and compatibility of the words in Slavic languages (here: Russian and Bulgarian) by means of digital lexicographical data. Another important application is computer-assisted language learning: Bulgarian data can be incorporated in the educational project being developed for Russian and English at the Institute for Information Transmission Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The recent decades have witnessed the incorporation of new linguistic trends into lexicography. One of these trends is a usage-based approach, with the first major application of computer-corpus data in the Collins COBUILD English dictionary (1995) and successive adaptation in other L1-dictionaries. Another, concurrent innovation — inspired by Conceptual Metaphor Theory — is the provision of conceptual information in monolingual dictionaries of English. So far, however, only the Macmillan English dictionary for advanced learners (1st and 2nd edition) has paid tribute to the fact that understanding culture-specific metaphors and being aware of metaphoric usage are crucial for learning a foreign language. Given that most of the English as lingua franca interactions take place between L2-speakers of English (see Kachru, 1994), providing conceptual information is not only a desideratum for L1- and learner dictionaries, but especially for (L2-)variety dictionaries of English. In our paper, we follow earlier tentative proposals by Polzenhagen (2007) and Wolf (2012) and present examples from A dictionary of Hong Kong English (Cummings & Wolf, 2011), showing how culturally salient conceptual information can be made explicit and conceptual links between lexical items retrievable. The examples demonstrate that fixed expressions and idioms — a perennial problem for lexicographers — are explicable by means of the proposed lexicographic design, too. Our approach is cognitive-sociolinguistic in that the Conceptual Metaphor approach is coupled with the study of regional varieties of English, more specifically Hong Kong English. Our analysis is empirically backed up by corpus-linguistic insights into this L2 variety.

In this article, we give a short and easy-to-understand introduction to the problematic nature of the storage, display and interpretation of lexical data. We then describe the main methods and specifications used to build and represent lexical data.This paper is targeted for the following groups of people: linguists, lexicographers, IT specialists, computer linguists and all others who wish to learn more about the modelling, representation and visualization of lexical knowledge. Vinterberg and Bodelsen's Danish-English dictionary has now been published in its third, revised edition. As a natural consequence of the development in society as a whole, Danish and English usage has changed considerably since the second edition was published in the mid-1960s, thousands of new words have been added to both languages, and a range of words and expressions have undergone a change in meaning. The present review focusses on seeing whether these changes are reflected in the selection of entries and the translation equivalents offerede in the dictionary and concludes that, even though there are about 100,000 changes (of which approximately 50,000 are additions) in the new edition, a wide range of entries are not sufficiently updated. Given the development in computer software and lexicography within the last two decades, it must be concluded that the dictionary is not on the forefront of the development.

The purpose of word sense disambiguation (WSD) is to find the meaning of the word in any context with the help of a computer, to find the proper meaning of a lexeme in the available context in the problem area and the relationship between lexicons. This is done using natural language processing (NLP) techniques which involve queries from machine translation (MT), NLP specific documents or output text. MT automatically translates text from one natural language into another. Several application areas for WSD involve information retrieval (IR), lexicography, MT, text processing, speech processing etc. Using this knowledge-based technique, we are investigating Hindi WSD in this article. It involves incorporating word knowledge from external knowledge resources to remove the equivocalness of words. In this experiment, we tried to develop a WSD tool by considering a knowledge-based approach with WordNet of Hindi. The tool uses the knowledge-based LESK algorithm for WSD for Hindi. Our proposed system gives an accuracy of about 71.4%.

Arabic lexicography is a well-established and deep-rooted art of Arabic literature. Computational lexicography, invests computational and storage powers of modern computers, to accelerate long-term efforts in lexicographic projects. A collection of 23 machine-readable dictionaries, which are freely available on the web, were used to build the Corpus of Traditional Arabic lexicons (the TAL-Corpus). The purpose for constructing the TAL-Corpus is to collect and organize well-established and long traditions of traditional Arabic lexicons which can also be used to create new corpus-based Arabic dictionaries. The compilation of the TAL-Corpus followed standard design and development criteria that informed major decisions for corpus creation. The corpus building process involved extracting information from disparate formats and merging traditional Arabic lexicons. As a result, the TAL-Corpus contains more than 14 million words and over 2 million word types (different words).  The TAL-Copus was applied to create useful morphological database. This database was automatically constructed using a new algorithm which is informed by Arabic linguistics theory. The newly developed algorithm processed the text of the TAL-Corpus and as result it extracted 2 781 796 entries. These entries were stored in the morphological database where each represents a word-root pair (i.e. an Arabic word and its root). A comparative evaluation of the TAL-Corpus and other three Arabic corpora showed that the lexical diversity of its vocabulary scored higher. Moreover, its coverage was computed by comparing words and lemmas against their equivalents of other corpora where it scored about 67% when comparing words and 82% when comparing lemmas.

Abstract Applying a sociolinguistic approach to the study of neologisms, this paper discusses the actuation and diffusion of new words in Early Modern English (EModE; 1500–1700) and draws some parallels with word coining in the comparable but more recent period of Early Modern Finnish (EModF; 1810–1880). The success of this exercise ultimately depends on the data and tools available for ascertaining the status of neologisms in a broader synchronic and diachronic context. The use of historical dictionaries and digital databases shows that many words that were earlier considered particular innovations in EModE are now up for re-evaluation. Determining their actual moments of coinage and entry into the language may be beyond historical lexicology and lexicography, but the new tools make it possible to better monitor their provenance and process of diffusion over time.

As one of three prominent flows (material, money, information) in a supply chain, the information flow plays a key role in supply chain performance and also in reaching high degrees of integrity and cooperation between supply chain members. Regarding the vagueness and multi-dimensional nature of information sharing, evaluating the information sharing level in supply chain is a complex problem. This paper aims to develop a new rule-based inference system to evaluate the level of information sharing in a supply chain. To this end, first, the influencing parameters are obtained from the literature and are screened and refined by the experts, using Lexicography method. Then, they are categorised into a multi-level hierarchical structure. Finally, a hierarchical inference system, which consists of a set of fuzzy rule bases, is constructed to infer the information sharing degree. The use of fuzzy rule bases is due to the lack of explicit functions between the influencing factors as well as ambiguity of these parameters. Also, in this research, the input parameters’ measurement process is defined and some relevant indices are designed. The developed assessment system is a four-leveled hierarchical inference system, built of six fuzzy rule bases. The inference system has eight input parameters, the values of which are calculated utilising six designed indices and two quick questionnaires. Eventually, the developed inference system and the measuring method are implemented in a real case.

The paper deals with specific aspects of compiling modern terminological glossaries on aircraft design.According to the task, the authors have considered modern lexicography trends, studied the classification and general structure of modern glossaries, in particular terminological ones, and specific aspects of compiling technical glossaries. As a result, a modern trilingval terminological glossary on aircraft design has been compiled. The glossary contains Ukrainian terms and definitions, their English equivalents and illustrations where it is appropriate.Rapidly developing modern computer lexicography provides linguists with a series of methods and software tools for processing text information, which will be the basis for the compilation. It is owing to the computer technology that lexicographers have an opportunity to create electronic dictionaries and reference books of various types, including terminology, intended for relevant sectors of science and technology.The terminological glossary compiled by the authors according to the task set consists of 700 lexical units on airplanes and belongs to definition-and-translation glossaries of technical terms.In order to create a comprehensive term glossary on aircraft design the authors relied on the methods of conceptual and component analyses. In information science a conceptualization is an abstract simplified view of some selected part of the world, containing objects, concepts, and other entities that are presumed of interest for some particular purpose and the relationships between them. As a higher level of abstraction, a conceptualization facilitates the discussion and comparison of its various ontologies, facilitating knowledge sharing and reuse. Each ontology based upon the same overarching conceptualization maps the conceptualization into specific elements and their relationships.The authors have investigated into the notion of concept as a minimum unit of knowledge representation. Thus, aircraft design becomes a central concept of the glossary. Other concepts-terms are included to the extent they are filiated to the central concept. To determine the adequacy of links between various concepts the authors have used frame theory rules. They insist that frame theory provides conceptual and procedural guidance for enhancing the cognitive and language development capability which in its turn is essential for compiling terminological glossaries.The presented glossary is a comprehensive assembly of all relevant aspects and trends of aircraft design.The glossary is a user’s dictionary integrated into ABBYY Lingvo x5 software that delivers a combination of trusted content, easy word look-up and flexible software. The users can look up word translations and usage examples, get conjugations for verbs, listen to pronunciation and create flash cards to memorize new words.Besides, included into the ABBYY Lingvo Dictionary is the Tutor application that is of help when a person needs to learn and memorize new words on some topic.The structure and content of the developed glossary are also determined by its communicative purpose. Thus, the Terminological Glossary on Aircraft Design is intended for aviation industry experts, foreign students (who attend lectures on aircraft design), translators of technical literature, teachers of English, readers of texts on aviation in English, and also for native English speakers who learn Ukrainian and/or Russian language and are interested in the aviation industry. The glossary also aims to help the users to work with professional literature in the field of aerodynamics of aircraft, as well as linguists-translators who work with technical texts on this topic.

The central object of computer lexicography is a computer or electronic dictionary, which must have a sufficiently large vocabulary, provide the consistent extraction of information depending on the user’s need and provide complete grammatical information about the words of input and output languages. Taking into account the current trend in the development of special terminological dictionaries, the authors propose an English-Belarusian-Russian dictionary of technical terms. At the initial stage of the work the dictionary was named TechLex and covers the following subject areas: architecture and construction, water supply, information technology, pedagogy, transport communications, economics, energy-supply. Currently, each subject area of the dictionary is located in the Internet GoogleTable and contains about 1000 terms. It has the possibility to be simultaneously filled by several teachers. The linguistic database of the dictionary is not created by the traditional way of processing a large number of paper dictionaries and combining the received translations. Lexis from sequential processing of scientific and technical English periodicals of particular subject areas is the base of it. The software of the proposed electronic dictionary is designed taking into account the analysis of modern electronic multilingual translation dictionaries and is a client-server application in Java programming language. The client part of the system contains a mobile application for the Android operating system, which was tested on tablets and smartphones with different screen diagonals. The interface of TechLex dictionary is designed in such a way that only a single zone is activated according to the query, so there is no need to view all the subject areas of the dictionary. The proposed TechLex dictionary is the first technical multilingual electronic dictionary with an English-Belarusian-Russian version.

The article introduces the main idioglossas ("Children", "Family", "Life") of F.M. Dostoevsky's novel "The Brothers Karamazov", which are understood as mental and cognitive categories, according to Yu.N. Karaulov, the constants of certain author's lines in the text, and describes the means of their representation (phonosemantic, lexical, phraseological and syntactic). The study of phonetic shells and the meanings of the words that form considered idioglossas, it is proved that representation in their meanings and words as a psycholinguistic phenomenon exhibits the traits of the writer's language personality development, his worldview and value system. The author's choice of exact lexemes and their syntagmatic partners included in the studied idioglossas demonstrates the harmonization of the nature of the language sign: a) the sound supports the meaning; b) the meanings of 'children', 'family', 'life' are interdependent. The novelty of the study is determined by the fact that it defines the semantic components of the idioglossas "Children", "Family", "Life" and the means of their representation. On the basis of computer phonosemantic analysis of words, their sound content is characterized. The novelty of the research is connected with the understanding of harmony or disharmony of the language sign and the ideological and aesthetic content expressed in the text by Dostoevsky. The research methods include: the method of system analysis of semantic relations, computer analysis of phonosemantics of words, phenomenological and others. The author reveals the significance of each idioglossa for the implementation of the main concepts of the work, which form its ideological core and indicate the author's mental and cognitive attitudes aimed at depicting the life of the Karamazov family which reflects the tragedies of the contradictory Russian life. The research results can be applied in the theory of author's lexicography; in the process of creating mental maps of the Russian language personality based on the description of author's idioglossas; in teaching university philological courses.

A key role of dialect dictionaries in the preservation of the national memory of the people and national moral values is emphasized in the paper. It has been stated that dialect vocabulary compiled in the dictionary is of great heuristic value, as it expresses a historical progress of the nation in its work, with customs and beliefs, the whole outlook in general, which is why it is a required source for the reconstruction of the ancient condition of a material and moral culture of native speakers. It has been found out that some specialists in dialectology-lexicography mark the registries of dialect words differently (dictionary, short dictionary, lexicon, vocabulary, materials for dictionary, small dictionary, etc.). Ukrainian dialect dictionaries were analyzed as to their completeness of vocabulary presentations, the coverage of dialect areas and some peculiarities of the representation of regional vocabulary in thematic dictionaries which contained the dialects of East Podillia. The purpose and the task of the compilation of the Dictionary of East-Podillia dialects as well as its format/size were defined. Foreign analogs of such creation, in particular Podillia ones, were noticed. The principles of the compilation of a multi-volume edition of the Dictionary of East-Podillia dialects according to the thematic groups were worked out. The importance of the Dictionary of East-Podillia dialects for Ukrainian language studies has been underlined, as it will become a profound source for further language research.

<p>The advent of corpora has opened new vistas for language study and restructured linguists’ and academicians’ approaches to lexicography and English language teaching (ELT). After 1980s, the use of online language corpora and computer tools garnered tremendous attention of English language teachers and academicians. Keeping in view the modern trends and needs of learners, this research focused on the practical implications of online corpora for ELT and its utility in the Pakistani context. Michigan Corpus of Academic Spoken English (MICASE) is used as a reference corpus for this research. MICASE is a collection of nearly 1.8 million words of transcribed speech (almost two hundred hours of recording). The transcribed data of MICASE includes wide range of speech events like seminars, lectures, advisory meetings and lab sessions. The study identified the utility of lexical items at syntactic level and its usage in various contexts. Furthermore, the layers of meanings and uses of lexicons through in-depth study of right and left collocates were explored in the reference corpus. The results showed that lexicons can be used as noun, verb and adjective depending upon the context of the study and right and left collocates play a significant role in understanding the meanings of lexical items in various contexts. Thus, this strategy can be fruitful for English language learners and academic discourse community who are interested in understanding the versatile uses of lexical items and their contextual meaning.</p><p><strong>Keywords:</strong> collocate, context, corpus, ELT, MICASE</p>

Purpose of the Study: This article aims to analyze and describe the food discourse and terms of the French language, as well as to determine correlations with the French national and cultural worldview. The study also considers the current state of "gastronomical discourse" based on the French food semiotic and communicative model. Methodology: The authors of the article used the method of linguistic and semiotic modeling and heuristic interpretation developed by A.P. Sedykh. The authors also utilized tools of corpus linguistics and computer lexicography (National Corpus of the Russian language; a parallel corpus of the French language, n.d.), methods of a sociolinguistic survey and linguistic review. Main Findings: The authors of the article considered and presented the linguistic and culturological features of the French food terms. They determined certain correlations between the national conceptual sphere and the art of cooking. The authors revealed certain similarities between the French ethnos and the culture of food consumption. It is shown that the French communication, modal constructions and nomination methods have ethnocultural features reflecting autochthonous preferences in terms of logic, semantics and strategies for achieving the goals of gastronomical communication. Applications of this study: The application of research results. The study results can be useful for teaching French and intercultural communication in secondary schools and institutions of higher education, as well as for preparing university lectures and seminars on stylistics, lexicology and theoretical problems of studying a linguistic identity. Novelty/Originality of this study: The scientific novelty of the study lies in innovative elements of the linguistic and semiotic approach to gluttony and prescription nominations in their correlation with the mental characteristics of the French linguacultural.

Linguists’ views on the functioning of terms lexicography and terminography in the modern terminology are summarised; lingvoterminographical theoretical works are systematized and such areas as metalingvoterminography / theoretical and practical lingvoterminography / applied lingvoterminography are highlighted; lingvoterminographic achievements in Ukrainian and foreign terminology are shown. Research on metalingvoterminography / theoretical lingvoterminography are multidimensional. Linguists study general problems of metalanguage, also its questions in branch linguistic term subsystems, their relation to terminology and nomenclature, general points in taxonomy and metataxonomy. We stress on typological analysis of linguistic terminological dictionaries in metalingvoterminography, also comparative analysis of dictionaries of linguistic terminology in East Slavic countries and reproduction of branch terminology in terminographic works. Terminological problems of separate system, relations and connections of different terminology and different schools and the problem of succession in terms; general principles of composing the terminological and encyclopedic dictionaries of linguistic terms are current according to formation the lingvoterminography. Processing the principles of conclusion branch terminological dictionaries of linguistic terminology encourages researchers to pay attention to the criteria of taking terms, structure, specific competition issues Ukrainian and borrowed terms; features that represent structural variants and synonyms doublets in the dictionary; ways to register the location of items in the dictionary and displays it in a genus- species relations terms; term definition; structure of dictionary entry etc. Due to the automation of terminology and the use of computer technology there are works on study the peculiarities thesaurus design of terminology. The synthesis of science and scientific fields has led to the emergence of not numerous explorations on interdisciplinary of metalingvoterminography and ideographic metalingvoterminography. Lingvoterminography today is formed terminological discipline with wide directions of research, significant achievements and great prospects.

In this paper, a new interactive multiobjective target setting approach based on lexicographic directional distance function (DDF) method is proposed. Lexicographic DDF computes efficient targets along a specified directional vector. The interactive multiobjective optimization approach consists in several iteration cycles in each of which the Decision Making Unit (DMU) is presented a fixed number of efficient targets computed corresponding to different directional vectors. If the DMU finds one of them promising, the directional vectors tried in the next iteration are generated close to the promising one, thus focusing the exploration of the efficient frontier on the promising area. In any iteration the DMU may choose to finish the exploration of the current region and restart the process to probe a new region. The interactive process ends when the DMU finds its most preferred solution (MPS).

This article is about the full analysis of one concrete class of general non-cooperative lexicographic games and its computer programming. In such game, the payoffs of players are lexicographic vector payoffs — m scalar criteria vectors. At the same time, these criteria are strictly ranked on the set of the situations with lexicographic preference. In some such kind of game a Nash's equilibrium may not exist. In the given article the full analysis of one class of dyadic lexicographic games is worked out. Such kind of class is the non-cooperative lexicographic games, where each player has got two pure strategies and the payoff of each player solely depends on the strategies of two players in each situation. Therefore, the player's payoffs are given by 2 × 2 matrices, the elements of which are lexicographic utilities.

Practitioners in many domains–e.g., clinical psychologists, college instructors, researchers–collect written responses from clients. A well-developed method that has been applied to texts from sources like these is the computer application Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count (LIWC). LIWC uses the words in texts as cues to a person’s thought processes, emotional states, intentions, and motivations. In the present study, we adopt analytic principles from LIWC and develop and test an alternative method of text analysis using naïve Bayes methods.
