The meaning of «university graduate» concept within the system of economic relations is specified; the essence of graduates’ competitiveness is revealed as well as its place in the system of interrelated economic categories; issues and challenges with which graduates encounter at the regional labor markets are outlined. By questioning graduates and employers of the Penza region, the author determines competitive advantages of the formers in terms of assessing various subjects of market relations. Ways to enhance university graduates’ competitiveness at local labor markets are proposed and practical guidelines are elaborated.

The relevance of graduate training in the Department of Resource Economics at the University of Massachusetts is investigated through a survey of graduates. The survey questionnaire and measures of relevancy are discussed. Results are presented for three cohorts: graduates currently in Ph.D. programs, M.S. graduates currently employed, and Ph.D. graduates currently employed. Results for all cohorts indicate that their graduate training is relevant to their jobs; however, all cohorts also favored increased application and reduced mathematics and theory. In addition, graduates suggested the need to bolster graduate training in economics with applied courses in business to improve competitiveness in private job markets.

The article analyzes theoretical (organizational) and practical aspects of educational technology to enhance the quality of graduates’ education and their competitiveness on the labour market. The analysis of the status of hospitality industry and its domestic and international trends under current economic conditions has predestined the need to improve the role of educational institutions as human resources training, and the enterprises of industry - to create the conditions for the adaptation and development of the competitive capacity of specialists. The authors emphasize the advisability of introducing a public professional examination of education programs, and starting July 01, 2016 - procedures of confirmation the education quality of each university graduate. The article also defines the role of the professional community representatives in the educational programs formation, their accreditation, which indicates the need for education and business system. The possible directions of policy of educational and entrepreneurial system of hospitality industry are formulated, criteria for graduates’ competitiveness estimation by a number of components of general educational, practical and social activities are offered. The authors present teaching experience of interdisciplinary design programs using Business English in teaching university students as a development element of business resource of graduates. The indicators for student activities estimation and integrated factor of graduate’s competitiveness are offered. This allows protecting a document of high education in front of professional community.

The article deals with such a negative economic phenomenon in Ukraine as unemployment, namely the one that affects university graduates. There is a need for a comprehensive study of the competitiveness of one of the most vulnerable in the labor market of socio-demographic groups - young people, which predetermined the choice of the topic of scientific research, determined its purpose and main tasks. The research reveals the essence and features of the notion of competitiveness, presents statistical indicators. In considering the essence of this concept, components of competitiveness were determined, namely: demographic, educational-professional and personal-social. which in turn form the competitive advantages of a graduate in the labor market. The systematization and specification of the conceptual apparatus became the basis for constructing the scheme of the corresponding basic characteristics of the competitiveness of the graduate of the university. The article analyzes the existing teaching methods in secondary and higher educational establishments in Ukraine and the consequences of their use in the labor market. The necessity of considering labor market needs during planning of training of specialists of higher educational institutions is substantiated. A number of peculiarities are investigated from which the high level of competitiveness of the graduate depends on the direction. The main factors that influence the competitiveness of young specialists are formed. One of the main components - the process of formation of the graduates' competitiveness, which, in turn, passes a series of appropriate stages, has been studied in detail, in which each young person learns to quickly and effectively perceive and realize knowledge, skills and abilities. The existing shortcomings of the process of its formation and problems of employment of graduates of higher educational institutions are analyzed, priority directions of increasing the efficiency of the system of training and implementation of specialists with higher education are determined. The prospects of further researches in this direction are determined.

Strong, visionary, and effective leadership are the main pillars in developing and improving competitiveness of educational institution. This research focused on the leadership strategies in improving higher education graduates’ competitiveness in Faculty of Education and Teacher Training of UIN Antasari Banjarmasin and Polytechnic of Hasnur Banjarmasin. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method to obtain an overview about the implementation of millennial leadership characters to improve the Higher Education competitiveness: 1) strategies for building sustainable competitiveness excellence; 2) implementing strategies through Leadership and Culture; 3) Strategies for sustainable supervision and improvement; 4) strategic steps to overcome problems and weaknesses; 5) creative and innovative ideas in increasing Higher Education graduates’ competitiveness. Finally, this research found out that leadership strategy in improving University graduates’ competitiveness had been implemented based on the national Higher Education standards and the stipulation of the Educational Quality Assurance Council. Nevertheless, supervision strategies had not demonstrated maximum efforts, especially in the development and improvement of graduates’ quality and competitiveness.

The article is devoted to the relevant problem of the formation of successful competitiveness of young professionals in the regional labor market, i.e. the development of a competitiveness model of a university graduate. The article discusses the concept of «a specialist’s competitiveness» and substantiates the authors’ point of view on its content. The authors have analyzed the existing Russian and foreign approaches to the definition of the essence of a specialist’s competitiveness and highlighted the key competencies for the formation of successful competitiveness of a university graduate. The authors presented the results of the study, a sociological survey of employers, conducted in 2017, which allowed them to rank the competencies in terms of their importance for the production process. Methodological research tools include a sociological survey, statistical data processing and a survey of employers in the Irkutsk region. In the process of the study, a correlation between the form of ownership of the enterprise and the employers' assessment of the professional, business and personal competencies of a young specialist was established. The authors proposed a hypothesis that the employer’s belonging to the public or private sector determines different requirements for certain competencies of a young specialist. The results of the study were presented at the scientific and methodological seminar in Irkutsk State University. The proposed competitiveness model of a university graduate is recommended for use when creating «twin models» of service industry enterprises of the region.

The competitiveness of university graduates is largely determined by its capacity to create and maintain competitive advantage. Based on the Porters' Diamond model, this study measures the competitive advantage of universities in Indonesia, especially the master's level of education. This model has almost never been in educational institutions, except for economic / business sectors. The data were collected through a survey and interpreted by the Porters' Diamond Compatibility Analysis. The competitiveness of master of education graduates in Indonesia is already in good level but is still considered low in the Southeast Asian level. Four factors of Porters' Diamond competitiveness have low supporting capacity so that it leads to the less competitiveness of the graduates. Strengthening the supporting capacity of demand conditions, educational relevance, and educational strategies are then becoming top priorities, including strengthening specific skills and developing sector-based competency.

Abstract The aim of the paper is to find the competitiveness of Latvian university graduates in Latvia and the European Union labour market concerning aspects of entrepreneurship education. To achieve the purpose of this study to determine the competitive and qualitative levels of Latvian universities and necessary improvements that need to be made, a survey of 4,909 graduates (from the years 2006-2011) representing six Latvia universities was performed between November-December, 2011. Results indicate that, in general, the graduates consider themselves competitive in the Latvian labour market. The graduates have positive opinions concerning the quality of theoretical knowledge as well as the abilities to present information and to evaluate, analyse and systematise it. At the same time, there are serious improvements that are necessary in regard to entrepreneurship education and to increase the competitiveness of Latvian universities, which can be done by improving the quality of the study process, the content of courses, teaching (learning) methods and the attitudes of academic staff to better motive students to develop their skills emphasising the practical side of the study process

This paper is a literature review, presenting the concept of regional innovation systems (RIS) and identifying criteria and indicators for measurement of university competitiveness within these systems. A regional innovation system is defined as an interactive learning engagement among a network of various actors within an institutional framework. It is built around the core idea that innovation stems from interactions within a network of different actors. The development of RIS is fostered by the European Commission in its attempts to make Europe and the EU the world’s most competitive and dynamic economy by embracing the whole innovation chain from education to economic impact, popular as the “knowledge triangle” of education, research and innovation. Universities contribute to the creation and dissemination of new knowledge and the generation of intellectual capital. In such context, the two most frequently cited criteria used to measure the university competitiveness are knowledge transfer and regional engagement. Knowledge transfer is defined by industry income, patents, co-publications with industrial partners, and spin-offs, while regional engagement – by graduates working in the region, student internships in the region, regional joint publications and income from regional sources.

The article tackles the problem of competitiveness of university graduates. The study sample is represented by the students of the Faculty of Management. The authors analyze differing views on competitiveness among employers and graduates, and characteristics of key competencies required to obtain and keep a job. A survey among the final-year students was aimed at studying their perceptions of their own competitiveness, job ambitions and expectations. The respondents’ attitudes towards labour market opportunities and career prospects were revealed. The strategies that the future managers use to improve their employability were described. The obtained results may be used to develop and include in the curricula some components of skills which enable the development of a competitive personality.

The problem of using a new form of dual education training to provide high-tech developing production with new qualified personnel from graduates of technical universities is being developed and solved. The solution to the main problem is presented in two stages. At the first stage, the possible directions of development and modernization of high-tech production of innovative products are analyzed. To choose the direction of development of the enterprise, a database of existing and promising orders, which affect the competitiveness of aerospace products has been developed. For this purpose, a method based on a precedent approach is used. The new order portfolio requires of highly qualified specialist training. Therefore, the competency requirements of specialists who must meet the portfolio of modernized production orders are analyzed. The set of competencies of university graduates does not always match the requirements of employers. Therefore, at the second stage of the study, the choice is made of those dual education methods (distance learning, virtual education, master classes, etc.) that allow bringing the knowledge of graduates to the competencies of employers. Dual education is used for this purpose, taking into account the possible individual learning path for each student. The activities are presented in a combined presentation and include various learning tools. As a result of individual training, each university graduate must receive a set of competencies that meet the requirements of the employer. A precedent database is being formed that contains indicators of competitiveness of products with new requirements for the competencies of university graduates. The costs related to dual training are being optimized. Lexicographic ordering of variants and integer optimization are used as mathematical models of research. It is advisable to use the proposed approach in the tasks of preparing of highly qualified specialists for the implementation of innovative projects to create competitive products.

This paper deals with key competences of students and graduates at a selected public university with an economic orientation in the Slovak Republic. The students expect from the University to have access to quality education, but also after finishing their studies to be able to apply them in practice. The businesses and organizations expect from university graduates to be equipped with competencies needed to develop their businesses and maintain their competitiveness. This paper discusses the equipment of graduates with general competencies such as knowledge, skills, abilities, values and attitudes, as well as managerial competencies such as communication, planning, organization and control, analytical thinking, creativity, problem solving, management and leadership, teamwork, flexibility and digital skills, etc. The paper presents the results of a survey focused on the scope of skills and competencies of the graduates of the University of Žilina, the Faculty of Operation and Economics of Transport and Communications, the Economics and Business Management study program. There the student´s profile is managerial oriented and the range of skills and competencies are considered to be the key factors for university graduates to be employed in a modern society.

As a city-based and application-oriented college, Beijing Union University focuses on cultivating application-oriented talents to meet the needs of city development. In recent years, the number of college graduates has increased, the demand for talents has become increasingly high, and the employment situation for graduates has become increasingly grim. This paper takes the 2019 graduates of Beijing Union University as the objects of investigation, and conducts research on the employment competitiveness of graduates through questionnaires and interviews. It is found that in terms of environment adaptability and the concept of employment, there are significant differences among graduates from different registered permanent residences and habitual residences; Party members and females have significantly higher levels of professionalism and foreign language proficiency than those of non-Party members and males; and the family income of graduates from Beijing and who live in cities is relatively better. Based on the existing research results, some suggestions have been made for both individual college graduates and higher education institutions.

The state of the transport infrastructure is one of the most problematic areas in the Arctic. Taking into account the strategic position of the Arctic territories, the growing interest of foreign states in Russian natural resources and communications, transport support for existing and planned industries, the training of qualified specialists should promptly have developed within the framework of the national program for the development of the Arctic territories. The implementation of the program requires a special approach to the training of competitive graduates of the transport complex. Large-scale production projects will require hundreds of engineering and technical specialists: engineers, transport workers, logisticians, builders, etc. The components of competitiveness of a university graduate have been determined, which constitute general requirements for future transport specialists working in the conditions of the Arctic.

Abstract In the Faculty of Science (University of Hradec Králové) the innovative program in chemistry for the study specialization Physico-technical Measurements and Computer Technology was developed. The innovation of chemistry filed study has been focused especially on increase in competitiveness and in graduates employment. Design of innovation enables graduates applying for the position of experts in physical measurements and informatics and at the same time they expand their competence in the service of the physico-chemical instrumentation in industrial ecology. Because Faculty of Science is not equipped yet in expensive instrumentation for nuclear spectrometry, cross-border cooperation with the Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences (University of Opole) has been started. In the area of teaching about non-traditional energy sources the cross-border cooperation with the Department of Automation and Renewable Energy Sources, Faculty of Electrical Engineering (Czestochowa University of Technology) has been initiated. Well-developed system of cooperation with companies, which are equipped with the latest technology of environmental protection, was created. In the exchange system Polish students attended for practicing in these companies. The aim of the contribution is to describe one of the means of innovation of chemistry field study in the frame of bachelor study specialization oriented in physics and computer technology. We believe that the new approach will lead to increase in graduate competitiveness as well as to development of their motivation to study and better understanding of regulation principles of chemical processes and patterns.

Employment of graduates from higher educational institutions depends on many factors, but primarily, on the person. The graduates’ career will depend on their competitiveness on the labor market and their ability to learn. The willingness to get a job and to be financially independent makes a lot of students start working during their studies at university. Very often their jobs are not connected with their major. The authors carried out a poll among senior students concerning their employment and the role of University in it to identify significance of their jobs and employment problems after graduation from university for them. The results of the poll are analyzed in the article, the main directions of University assistance in finding a job, in the respondents’ opinion, are specified.

The article is devoted to the competitiveness of universities in the international educational space, taking into account the realities of the new economy and modern factors of consumer choice. We stress the importance of the process of internationalization of teachers’ teams and students, the importance of enriching the content of curricula with international and intercultural experience. Further, we discussed directions of development in Russia of management and economic education taking into account preservation of national identity in a difficult institutional environment of the world market of education. We presented the results of a survey of 120 graduates of master’s programs in economics, management and MBA programmes, identified the factors that affect the students’ choice of the educational program, as well as estimated demand from students for international experience in the learning process in their country. These factors include, among others, the possibility of obtaining international experience during studies and the prestige of the university, whose diploma has a graduate. The identified factors are also considered by employers as key and affect career development. Two key directions of development of internationalization of economic and management education in Russian universities are defined. We showed the experience of the Faculty of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University on the inclusion of international aspects in the educational programs of the master’s level and MBA programs.

In the fast-changing world, the success of engineering education depends not only on sound engineering knowledge, but also on the ability to apply it in practice from the moment young graduates enter the real industry. In order to be successful in industry, learners need interaction within the real industrial environment from the beginning of their studies. The importance of close links between engineering educational programmes and industry is shown in the example of industry–university collaboration between the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) and General Motors South Africa (GMSA). The local automotive industry and GMSA, in particular, have been supporting the engineering programmes at NMMU for decades. However, with the establishment of a bachelor degree programme in mechatronics in 2005, GMSA decided to play an even more prominent role, as this was the first such degree programme in the Eastern Cape. This initiative has resulted in the establishment of the Chair of Mechatronics, fully sponsored by GMSA. Over the years, this industry–university partnership became an important platform providing a vital link between theory and practice in engineering education. The results of this partnership can be seen in an increased number of graduate and post-graduate students’ projects being based on real industrial cases provided by GMSA, reflecting the latest developments and trends in engineering. Working with engineers in solving industrial problems enables students to gain valuable experience in dealing with colleagues, managers and workers. Exposure to the latest technologies strengthens the theory and better prepares graduates for their future careers in industry and commerce. The partnership is also important for GMSA, as it increases its competitiveness and facilitates the company’s significant contribution to human capital development, which is very important for the growth of the South African economy and the community at large. However, through the surveys of companies and enterprises in the Zone as well as the graduates in the university, it is found that the business English professional graduates still fail to fully meet the demand of the companies. There are still some problems in the practical training system in the university, such as sufficient practical training bases, lack of teaching staff with bi-expertise, and imperfect management and evaluation system for the practical teaching. The paper aims to study the construction of practical teaching system in business English major which can not only ensure the cultivation of satisfactory practical business English talents but also improve the graduates’ competitiveness.

This study develops a model for students and graduates of Soft Skills, Hard Skills, and Competitiveness (SHC) and seeks user validation after the development process. The development process uses the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. A quantitative survey using questionnaires and descriptive quantitative analysis was applied in obtaining user validation as the study objective. The development results validated the students' SHC Development model, which has 3 main phases, including Input, Process and Output. The Input phase comprises course content, SHC component, and strategy of students’ center approach. The Process phase consists of blended course design, instruction and students' engagement, and evaluation. The Output phase comprises soft and hard skills achievement, as well as students’ competitiveness level. Users perceived the model’s phases and components as wholly acceptable, appropriate, and applicable for implementation through curriculum, teaching, and learning at the university. This study contributes to graduate preparation for employability skills in the challenging and complex working environment in revolution industry 4.0.

Introduction. Unemployment among young professionals, low competitiveness in the labor market, work not in the specialty are indicators of the quality of education of both individual higher educational institutions and the entire higher education system. Currently, there are already obvious contradictions between the requirements for the development of higher education programs and the requirements of employers. Employment of graduates is a complex problem that should be solved not only by young specialists, but also by universities and employers. The purpose of the study: to develop measures to improve the efficiency of training students of technical universities by updating the basic educational programs (OPOP) in accordance with the requirements of employers. Materials and methods. The analysis of scientific sources in the field of compliance of the level of training of graduates with the requirements of the labor market is applied. The study analyzes the results of professional and public accreditation of 9 bachelor's degree programs implemented at 9 departments of electrical engineering, chemical technology, mechanical technology and humanities faculties of PNRPU. 611 graduates and 222 representatives of employers took part in the survey. The main disadvantages of the programs according to experts are summarized and presented. Compliance with the level of training of graduates was assessed by the level of professional knowledge, skills, as well as by the presence of personal skills ("soft skills"). The results of a survey of working graduates are presented, their satisfaction with the results of training is on average 96.5%, career development-86%. Of the 611 graduates surveyed, only 73.85% work in their specialty. A set of measures aimed at increasing the demand and competitiveness of graduates with higher education in the labor market is proposed. The practical significance lies in identifying the points of growth of higher educational institutions in terms of interaction with employers and improving the level of training of young specialists. The results of the study can be useful and applicable in improving the organization of the educational process in other universities of the country. In the future, it is planned to repeat the research in order to evaluate the recommendations.

The relevance of the study is determined by the need to understand the role of academic mobility of graduates of Kazakhstani universities in increasing their competitiveness in employment. This article is devoted to the analysis of the employment of university graduates who have had external academic mobility programs. The study of the role of academic mobility of graduates of Kazakhstani universities in the process of their further employment was carried out on the basis of an analysis of some research results conducted on the basis of the Center for the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (СBP&AM) in 2012–2013, as well as the results of a survey of students in a number of Kazakhstani universities conducted by the authors on the basis of the South Kazakhstan University in 2020. The analysis of various factors and measures influencing the increase in the efficiency of academic mobility of university graduates is carried out. As a result of the questionnaire survey, it was found that the majority of university graduates who were trained under the program of academic mobility in foreign universities were able to find a job rather quickly. It is concluded that the lack of funding for tuition does not always contribute to the choice of a strong partner university by students for internship under the academic mobility program. As a result of the study, the authors made a proposal that universities need to strengthen their work to assist in employment on the basis of mutually beneficial partnerships with employers, as well as to ensure that the competencies acquired by students abroad meet the requirements of the labor market in Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the article is a theoretical and practical justification of the process of forming the competitiveness of a future teacher. Research methods: theoretical analysis and generalization, modeling, in-depth interviewing. The results of the study: the essence of the competitiveness of the future teacher is determined, the developed model of the process of forming the desired quality is presented, the results of diagnostics are presented. Based on the results of the study of the formation of the competitiveness of future teachers, it was concluded that it is necessary to develop and implement a holistic model of the formation of the desired quality through mentoring and coaching techniques, the development of personal qualities in training training, the development of a system of professional counseling and career guidance. The authors define the competitiveness of the future teacher, substantiate some conditions for its formation. The process of globalization and the variability of the environment today require that society ensure sustainability for itself and its environment throughout life. Therefore, the paradigm of competitiveness of an individual and a specialist is currently changing. For graduates, it is important not only to achieve academic results, but also how they can take into account the likely level of competition in the labor market and be ready to respond flexibly to these changes. The authors of the article, analyzing the psychological and pedagogical literature, come to the conclusion that along with the development of professional qualities, it is necessary to develop habits of leadership, analytical abilities, involvement in public life, active citizenship, as competitive advantages of a specialist.

The article looks into the English language needs of engineering students and young graduates at one of the leading technological universities in Russia - NUST MISiS. The authors used a mixed methodology approach to explore how often and in what real-life situations current and former students use the English language. 107 paper questionnaires were completed by master’s degree students in class and the answers were counted; 123 responses were received online from 2015 and 2016 graduates and processed statistically; 17 structured interviews with college administrators and subject professors were recorded and then coded for the main categories. The results demonstrate that despite dramatic changes at NUST MISiS under The Competitiveness Enhancement Program 5-100, good English competence is not a priority, with the majority of young graduates being ‘unsure’ about its benefits for their career and some administrators calling it ‘the least required competence’. However, the English language needs vary across subject departments. Thus, students majoring in new materials and programming use English on a regular basis, while economists and metallurgists might not really need it in both studies and future job. Overall, the most required skill is reading, and the least used ones are oral communication and academic writing in English. The authors discuss how orientation on potential rather than actual needs can affect the ESP/EAP course design in the context of engineering education in Russia.

Increasing competitiveness in the graduate employment field combined with growing numbers of degree bearing applicants means that gaining employment after completing university studies can be a lengthy and complex undertaking. This is even more the case for students who do not have ready access to the social or family capital often required for successful employment, such as those who are first in their family to attend university. This article reveals hidden tensions within the post-graduation employment market when this is negotiated without the benefit of necessary capitals required to do so successfully. Drawing on interview and survey data from recent first in family graduates and alumni in Australia, the ways in which they negotiated employment was explored. This exposed an alternative perspective on graduate employment that highlights the somewhat ‘hidden’ inequities and unfair expectations within a hyper competitive job market. Participants’ written and spoken reflections reveal the ways in which the graduate landscape is far from being an ‘even playing field’. The perspectives presented contribute to broader understanding about the difficulties of moving towards desired employment goals or social mobility particularly when intangible relational and personal capitals are needed. Such insights are needed to inform both policy and practice globally, particularly as nation states come to terms with the repercussions of the current health crisis.

In the era of growing competitiveness on the labour market, it has become common for students and graduates of higher education institutions to participate in various types of training courses and obtain various types of certificates, which are an additional asset when applying for employment. The interaction of a university with the environment requires constant monitoring of the expectations of labour market. Therefore, the main objective of the paper is to analyse of labour market requirements on additional certified competences of graduates during their studies. The paper attempts to answer the question: whether, and if so, to what extent the training received and the certificates obtained by the potential employee are important from the employer's point of view. The matters raised in it are a contribution to the discussion on the issue of needs and preferences of employers, including the most important aspects that guide them during the recruitment process. The study presents the results of surveys aimed at analysing the preferences of entrepreneurs and other entities in relation to the competences of graduates of universities. The survey method was chosen from among the empirical research methods used, which is characterized by a nomothetical approach, aimed at seeking generalized judgments, laws and rules for a certain class of situations or events. The survey covered not only entrepreneurs, but also representatives of other entities. Random sample selection was adopted for the conducted surveys. Setting the acceptable margin of statistical error at e=5.5%, for confidence level a=0.80 (Z=1.28), response distribution f=0.5 and population size Np=107.798. It has been calculated that the minimum research sample should consist of Nmin=136 employers. The draw was conducted on the basis of a list of all entities of the Swietokrzyskie Region in Poland. The collected quantitative data were analysed. The survey results indicated that employers pay attention to certificates, qualifications, courses and trainings obtained by university graduates. Additionally, graduates should demonstrate some professional experience, therefore student apprenticeships and practical profiles of education are also important. Respondents emphasized the problem of the deficit of the skills of applying knowledge in practice by university graduates, stating the ubiquitous excess of theory over practice.

The Postgraduate School of IPB has academic standards as well as high competitiveness of graduates who have spread both at home and abroad. In this study Binary Logistic Regression method was used to determine the factors that influence the success of the study of Postgraduate students of Bogor Agricultural University (Graduate School-IPB). The data used are data from IPB Graduate School students who graduated from 2011 to 2015. The response variable used is the success status of student studies namely graduating and not passing and using 9 explanatory variables namely gender, marital status, admission status when entering S2, college status S1 level, the source of S2 education costs, group of agencies working, S2 study program groups, age when entering S2 and S1 GPA. The data obtained is not balanced with the percentage of students who graduate is greater than those who did not pass, so the imbalance of data is handled with SMOTE if it is not handled it will cause a misclassification. Comparison of classification results seen in testing data. The results in the model before SMOTE have an area under the curve or AUC of 0.6760, an accuracy value of 88.77%, a sensitivity value of 99.09% and a specificity of 4.63%. The model after 600% oversampling SMOTE has an AUC value of 0.6642, an accuracy value of 78.36%, a sensitivity value of 83.65%, and a specificity value of 35.18%. Although the accuracy of the model and sensitivity value before SMOTE was higher than the model after SMOTE, the specificity in the model after SMOTE was higher, which meant that the model after SMOTE was better at predicting minority classes (not graduating).

Анотація:
The paper emphasizes that trends in education, the processes of globalization and internationalization of all spheres of human life force countries to carry out transformations in the field of higher education. Russia is also trying to change the system of higher education in order to integrate into the global edu-cational space. Reforms in higher education are re-duced to the fact that the University should produce professionally mobile, competitive and in demand in the labor market graduates who are able to activate their potential, show intellectual and creative abili-ties. The pedagogical community actively imple-ments innovative technologies in educational prac-tice. However, only the variety of pedagogical tools does not provide the necessary level and quality of professional training for the country. It is concluded that the solution to this problem implies the need to implement an appropriate innovation policy in high-er education, in which a new type of educational environment will play a decisive role.

Nudging majors and courses may increase the ompetitiveness of Indonesian graduates. In order to nudge them, university corporations shall provide the characteristics of majors and courses on their websites. This paper will discuss the value of choice and an understanding of choice in decision-making, the impact of choosing wrong majors on the competitiveness of graduates, and the relation between law and human development. This paper will examine the existing laws and regulation proposal on the provision of the characteristics of majors and courses on the university corporation websites in Indonesia. The research is based on laws and regulations on education and public information related to such information provision and supported by website samples from various university corporations in Indonesia and overseas. The author proposes the government to regulate a Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Regulation that requires university corporations in Indonesia to provide the characteristics of majors and courses on their websites to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian graduates. With the availability of the characteristics of majors and courses, prospective students may know and understand better the available majors and its learning materials. This knowledge and understanding will empower prospective students to choose majors that align with their interests and talents. Peningkatkan daya saing lulusan perguruan tinggi di Indonesia dapat dilakukan melalui nudging jurusan dan mata kuliah. Untuk melaksanakan nudge jurusan dan mata kuliah, perguruan tinggi wajib menyediakan informasi jurusan dan mata kuliah dalam situsnya. Karya tulis ilmiah ini akan membahas pentingnya pilihan dan pemahaman akan pilihan dalam pengambilan keputusan, dampak kekeliruan pilihan jurusan terhadap daya saing lulusan, dan keterkaitan pengaturan dengan pembangunan sumber daya manusia. Karya tulis ilmiah ini akan mengkaji pengaturan yang ada dan usulan pengaturan tentang penyediaan informasi jurusan mata kuliah dalam sistem elektronik perguruan tinggi diIndonesia. Penelitian didasarkan pada peraturan perundang-undangan di bidang pendidikan dan informasi publik terkait dengan penyediaan informasi tersebut dan didukung dengan sampel situs pelbagai perguruan tinggi di Indonesia dan mancanegara. Penulis mengusulkan pemerintah untuk mengatur suatu Peraturan Menteri Riset, Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi yang mensyaratkan perguruan tinggi di Indonesia untuk menyediakan informasi jurusan dan mata kuliah dalam sistem elektronik untuk meningkatkan daya saing lulusan Indonesia. Dengan ketersediaan informasi jurusan dan mata kuliah, calon mahasiswa dapat mengetahui dan memahami secara lebih jelas tentang jurusan yang tersedia dan materi ajar dalam suatu jurusan. Pengetahuan dan pemahaman ini akan memampukan calon mahasiswa untuk memilih jurusan yang selaras dengan minat dan bakatnya.

The article deals with the methodology of teaching students majoring in economic specialties to collaborate as one of the four key skills of the 21st century (4C) while teaching “English for Specific Purposes”. The urge to develop the ability to work effectively in a team arises from the lack of correlation between the needs of the labour market and proficiency level of graduates. Educators and business communities emphasise the importance of mastering collaborative strategies during university studies since this raises graduates’ competitiveness; though teachers use collaboration techniques when teaching a foreign language. Collaborative learning is often used only as a means of teaching other content, not as a method of improving collaboration skills. The article analyses the Ukrainian university graduates’ proficiency level, identifies the basic prerequisites for teaching collaboration and considers the methods of developing collaboration skills in teaching a foreign language. The development of these skills is determined by the collaboration of teachers while planning curricula and in the teaching process. The results of the research conducted at Tavria State Agrotechnological University are presented. The recommendations on how to create the conditions for productive collaboration of students when solving problems are given; the basic requirements for these tasks are specified. Some examples of group work that contribute to enhancing collaborative skills to achieve a common goal are given; the role of the teacher as a facilitator and an observer who promotes students’ effective collaboration is determined. According to the results of the study, a significant increase in students’ knowledge and skills and their psychological readiness to collaborate in their future professional activity, which seems to be more important, was noted. It is proved that teaching collaboration is a desirable result and an achievable goal of learning a foreign language at university.

Technological progress is increasing rapidly along with the increasing need for graduates of Informatics Engineering in Higher Education. Many companies and businesses today require graduates who can compete in terms of programming. And the most dominant programming that must be mastered by the graduates of Informatics Engineering is Object-Based Programming (PBO) or commonly known as Java Programming. Where this programming is programming that can generate various applications, both applications in Personal Computer (PC) and in mobile. However, based on analysis conducted by the researcher when teaching object-based programming program (PBO) in Informatics Engineering Faculty of Engineering Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo, found the result that there are still many students who still difficulty studying this course, if only taught through theory without any direct practice. So that students interested in studying this subject further and learning not only through theory, a fun learning will researchers do by making the Design of Object-Based Programming Simulation Game (PBO) As Media Student Learning Informatics University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo. This game will contain several learning levels packed with animation. Where players are students not only get learning about what components are required in programming Java, but also steps - steps programming Java easily presented with an interesting animation. Not only the curiosity and excitement in playing but understanding and making the program easier. The purpose of making this learning simulation game in order to help Student of Informatics Engineering Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo in understanding, likes, and able to make object-based program or Java so as to improve the quality and competitiveness of Informatics Engineering Student University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo in the world of work. And in the future, researchers will conduct a survey to prove the effects and results obtained after learning through simulation games. The article is focused on the problem of educational programs modernization on the basis of principles of project-oriented training and students’ involvement in solving scientific-research and industrial-technological tasks relevant for the region. Special attention is paid to the multilevel career guidance work at Oreburg State University (special projects such as pre-university education centre “Applicant”, University Computer School, University physics and maths school, “University Saturdays”). The task of creating a complex of educational and intellectual products that ensure high competitiveness of university graduates is considered. For this purpose, the University reali- zes two educational projects: “School of leadership” and “Going to study at OSU”. These projects implement project-oriented training, involve employers in educational process. As a result, students present their own business projects with financial support. Special course of technological entrepreneurship is aimed at development of business thinking, business planning, management skills, key competences to start a business or to conduct innovation projects at companies. Modernization of educational practices gives considerable topical relevance to the question of young teachers and researchers retention at the University, their integration in academic community.
