La tesi si propone di affrontare il modo in cui il romanzo storico degli anni Zero rappresenta il rapporto fra il singolo individuo e la collettività. Il lavoro è suddiviso in tre parti, le prime due di natura teorica e la terza dedicata all’analisi puntuale di tre romanzi. La prima parte è dedicata al tema dei Memory Studies e ripercorre i passi che hanno portato alla definizione di questo campo di studi. La scelta di approfondire questo tema nasce dalla valutazione dell’importanza della memoria nella formazione identitaria, tanto dei singoli quanto delle comunità. Partendo dal fondamentale lavoro di Maurice Halbwachs sulla memoria collettiva (1927), la tesi segue gli sviluppi della teoria che hanno portato, negli anni ’80 del Novecento, al cosiddetto memory boom. La seconda parte è dedicata all’analisi di alcune delle caratteristiche principali del romanzo storico del Terzo Millennio. Nel contesto della critica letteraria e della narrativa degli anni Zero si osserva la tendenza degli autori a prediligere storie che affrontano le possibili declinazioni del rapporto fra singolo e società con narrazioni inscrivibili nell’alveo della microstoria (Carlo Ginzburg, 1976) e della controstoria, intesa qui come prospettiva controegemonica che si oppone al discorso ufficiale. La volontà di recuperare la componente politica del genere storico emerge attraverso la ri-discussione e la ri-problematizzazione del rapporto con il passato, soprattutto quello traumatico del Novecento. Lo stato attuale di questa relazione fra la Storia e l’Oggi, e fra singolo e collettività, è discusso attraverso una riflessione generata dal saggio di Guido Mazzoni I Destini Generali (2015). Nella seconda parte del capitolo, per meglio contestualizzare le strategie narrative che oggi si vedono messe in atto all’interno del genere, se ne traccia una rapida genealogia soffermandosi in particolare sull’Historiographic Metafiction (Linda Hutcheon, 1988) e il Metahistorical Romance (Amy Elias, 2001). Partendo dalla ripresa della teoria di Hayden White (Metahistory, 1973), si prende in considerazione anche la scuola critica del New Historicism (Stephen Greenblatt, Catherine Gallagher, Practicing New Historicism, 2000). Il romanzo storico nella sua manifestazione più contemporanea tende a virare sempre più sul versante della realtà limitando al massimo l’influenza della finzione: in questa direzione vanno testi che si giocano sulla continua elisione della separazione fra il piano finzionale e quello fattuale, come dimostra il fiorire di forme ibride come docu-drama, meta-fiction storica, fact-fiction. Fra le strategie narrative più utilizzate nel romanzo storico del Terzo Millennio ci sono quelle che riguardano l’uso della voce (in particolare, si nota come sia frequentissimo il ricorso agli stilemi dell’autofinzione). Un altro aspetto esaminato perché ritenuto interessante è il rapporto fra romanzo storico e romanzo familiare. La terza e ultima parte della tesi è dedicata all’approfondimento di tre romanzi: El Monarca de las Sombras di Javier Cercas (2017), Le rondini di Montecassino di Helena Janeczek (2010), e 4321 di Paul Auster (2017). I testi sono letti da una prospettiva orientata ad evidenziare come gli autori mettano in comunicazione la Storia con l’Oggi e i destini individuali con quelli collettivi. Come illustrato nella tesi, ho deciso di lavorare sul romanzo storico nella convinzione che in questa forma narrativa si concentrino alcuni dei nodi concettuali più stringenti emersi nel dibattito contemporaneo. L’ipotesi formulata in apertura del lavoro è che i romanzi storici del Terzo Millennio tendano verso la riscoperta di un impegno etico e morale della letteratura, espresso da testi costruiti attorno a domande ricorrenti quali ad esempio, “cos’avrei fatto io al loro posto?” e “qual è il mio posto nella Storia?”
The thesis aims to address the way in which historical novels written in the 2000s stage the relationship between individual stories and collective destinies. The work is divided into three parts, the first two are concerned with theory and the third is dedicated to the analysis of three novels. The first part addresses the issue of Memory Studies and traces the steps that lead to the definition of this field of study. I choose to tackle this issue because of the paramount relevance accorded to memory in the construction of identity, both individual and collective. Maurice Halbwachs’ work on collective memory, L’Histoire Collective (1925), marks the beginning for the development of the studies that lead to the so-called memory boom in the ‘80s. The second part of the thesis deals with literature and analyzes some of the most prominent aspects of the contemporary historical novel as a genre. The first half of the examination opens remarking how authors of historical novels seem to focus their attention on how individuals interact with collective groups. Remarkably, most historical novels seem to deal with narratives related to microhistory (Carlo Ginzburg, 1976) and counterhistory. . In order to outline the status of the link between individual stories and collective destinies I discuss the essay I Destini Generali (2015) by Guido Mazzoni. The second half of the chapter is devoted to draw a brief genealogy of the historical novel genre in its most recent years. Linda Hucheon’s Historiographic Metafiction (1988) and Amy Elias’ Metahistorical Romance are shortly discussed, along with Stephen Greenblatt’s New Historicism (Greenblatt, Cathrine Gallagher, Practicing New Historicism, 2000), a school born out of Hayden White’s Metahistory (1973). From Greenblatt’s interpretation of the work of Clifford Geertz (The Interpretation of Culture, 1973) many authors have derived a vision of historical fiction as a means of “communication with the dead”, a sort of necromancy which seem to imbue many of the narratives that are concerned with history in the last twenty years, aimed at reinstating a connection between the present and the past. The authors employ archive documents and family album photos to support their narratives, therefore raising the issue of the distinction between fact and fiction and between factual and fictional narratives. The contemporary historical novel seems to be marking a sharp turn toward factual or nonfictional narratives, thus creating space for hybrid forms like docu-drama, metafiction and fact-fiction where the two dimensions fruitfully interact with each other. One of the most prominent features in the genre is the modulation of the narrator’s voice. To address this issue directly I chose to consider two novels namely Jonathan Littell’s Les Bienveillantes (2006) and Filippo Tuena’s Le Variazioni Reinach (2005/2015). Another issue which I put under scrutigny is the relationship between family novel and historical novel. Both genres appear to be in a renaissance phase, gaining praise from audience and literary critics alike. Also, both genres deal with the problem of how to relate with the past; finally, both imply the use of similar stylistic features such as autofiction or characters tracing down long-lost relatives using archive information. The last part of the work focuses on the analysis of three novels, namely El Monarca de las Sombras by Javier Cercas (2017), Le rondini di Montecassino by Helena Janeczek (2010) and 4321 by Paul Auster (2017) and highlights how the authors have put in place narrative strategies designed to create a link between history and the present by connecting individual stories and collective destinies. In my work historical novel as a genre is shown as moving toward a more engaged relationship with the public sphere by helping raise moral questions that compel the reader to reflect on her possibility to act in the real world.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att studera ungdomsbrottslighetens utveckling i Sverige och i England1, utifrån den totala registrerade brottsligheten från slutet av 1980-talet fram till år 2010. Dessutom har det även studerats för den registrerade kategoribrottsligheten mellan åren 2002 och 2013. Vidare har jag även eftersträvat till att föra en diskussion kring hur teorin om rutinaktiviteter kan förklara denna utveckling. Ungdomsbrottsligheten som begrepp har definierats utifrån två ord: dels ungdom och dels brottslighet. I denna studie har åldersintervallet begränsats till 15-20 år. Vidare har definitionen av ett brott utgått från den legalistiska definitionen, där ett brott fastställs som ett brott utifrån de rådande lagarna i respektive land. Tidigare forskning på området har beskrivit ungdomsbrottslighetens utveckling i efterkrigstiden, där den ökade i hela Västeuropa från början på 1950-talet, till att den minskade mot slutet av 1970 och början på 1980-talet. Stöldbrottslighet är den dominerande brottskategorin bland ungdomar, sedan följer våldshandlingar och sist skadegörelsebrott. Metoden som har använts i denna studie var av komparativ art, där man eftersträvat att jämföra Sverige och England med varandra vad gäller ungdomsbrottslighetens utveckling. Metoden har vidare utgått från den mest olika ansatsen, som förespråkar jämförelser mellan länder som anses vara olika varandra olika vad gäller kultur, struktur och historia. Den mest olika ansatsen innebär vidare att man strävar efter en teoriprövning, dock har det i denna studie förts en diskussion kring rutinaktivitetsteorin för att se hur den kan tänkas förklara ungdomsbrottslighetens utveckling. Rutinaktivitetsteorin består av tre olika komponenter som tillsammans möjliggör att ett brott kan begås, a) motiverad gärningsman, b) lämpligt brottsobjekt/offer och c) avsaknad av kapabla väktare. Denna förklaringsmodell har använts flitigt för att förklara den ständigt ökande stöldbrottsligheten i efterkrigstiden, som sammanföll med ett ökat välstånd i både Sverige och England. Resultatet från denna studie visar att ungdomsbrottslighetens utveckling har minskat från slutet av 1980-talet fram till år 2010 i båda länderna som studerats. Även den kategoribaserade brottsutvecklingen (stöld, våld respektive skadegörelsebrott) har i denna studie visats ha samma minskande tendens. Rutinaktivitetsteorins förklaring av ungdomsbrottslighetens utveckling, har analyserats utifrån de brottspreventiva situationella åtgärder, som har vidtagits och som har haft en direkt påverkan på åtminstone två av komponenterna som teorin grundats på.

The writings of Göran Tunström (1937 – 2000) are closely linked with his birthplace, Sunne in Värmland. His four ’Sunne Novels’, De heliga geograferna (1973; ’The Holy Geographers’), Guddöttrarna (1976; ’The Goddaughters’), Juloratoriet (1983; The Christmas Oratorio, 1995) and Tjuven (1986; ’The Thief’) form the subject of this thesis. The focus is on the novels as an entity, an 'epic universe', a micro-/macrocosmos, examined from five different aspects: space, time, literary models, poetics and ethics. The first part of the thesis concentrates on Sunne, and both the inward and outward significance of place. Topographical descriptions and place-names use physical surroundings as their starting point, but here the analysis is structured phenomenologically, on what Gaston Bachelard calls ’topoanalysis’: i.e. Sunne is seen both subjectively and objectively. In the second part the significance of the time dimension in its epic configuration is examined. The hypothesis is that there is a typological structure in the Sunne novels corresponding to the Genesis and Apocalypse of the Bible. The third part looks at the significance of the work of two writers, Selma Lagerlöf and Lars Ahlin, whose production can be seen as literary models. The fourth part considers the poetics of the Sunne novels. The main issue is narratological and discusses the kind of prose used, the various literary patterns, genres, motifs and rhetorical figures that appear, and the sorts of meaning created thereby. An expression often used throughout the Sunne novels is 'turning round': a trope implying transgression, recognition, identification and perception, awareness, and knowledge. In these novels different literary and mythical traditions are interwoven using various narratological devices. The relation to tradition may be described as parody. The fifth and last part of the thesis looks at the narrator and the ethical discourse in the Sunne novels. It considers both the relation between the narrator and his creativity in terms of self-examination and identity, and the ethical question as to how one ought to live. Elements of the philosophy of existence can characteristically be related to the work of Lars Ahlin and Søren Kierkegaard. The ethical analysis is based, as with Martha Nussbaum, on the fundamental question as to how one becomes, and remains, a true and living person. By investigating the relation between subject and object in creative, artistic practice, contact with reality is obtained as well as truth and individuality. The confessional element in the narrative context points towards this and also contributes to the therapeutic character of the novels. The relation between imagination and reality resolves itself into an acceptance of 'both - and'. 'Humour' as an attitude to life means the ability to accommodate a 'both-and' stance without losing perception and consciousness and also leads to self-fulfilment and fellowship.

Studiens syfte är att belysa hur den fysiska inomhusmiljön ser ut med likheter och skillnader i en förskola i Sverige samt en förskola i Sydafrika. De här tre frågeställningar har vi utgått från för att besvara syftet och få fram ett resultat, vad för artefakter exponeras i förskolornas fysiska inom-husmiljö? Vilka likheter och skillnader synliggörs på artefakter i de fysiska inomhusmiljöerna i Sverige och i Sydafrika? Vilka likheter och skillnader synliggörs på utrustning och utrymmen i de fysiska inomhusmiljöerna i Sverige och i Sydafrika? I studien används sociokulturellt perspektiv som teoretiskt perspektiv då det sociokulturella perspektivet har en stor betydelse för hur man kan se på artefakter och dess betydelse. I studien så användes dels en komparativ metod dels en kvalitativ form där observation genom fotografier användes som metod. Två förskolor deltog i studien, en i Sverige och en i Sydafrika. Antal fotografier i studien är 50 bilder från förskolan i Sverige respektive 30 bilder från förskolan i Sydafrika som användes för att analysera resultatet utifrån en kodningstabell. Resultatet visar på vilka skillnader och likheter det finns mellan de olika förskolorna samt vilka artefakter som exponeras i den fysiska inomhusmiljön
The aim of this study is to illustrate how the physical indoor environment is designed, with similarities and differences in a preschool in Sweden and a preschool in South Africa. We have investigated the following three questions: What artefacts are exposed in the preschools' physical indoor environment? What similarities and differences are made visible on artefacts in the physical indoor environments in Sweden and in South Africa? What similarities and differences are made visible on equipment and spaces in the physical indoor environments in Sweden and in South Africa? In the study a comparative method and a qualitative approach where observation through photographs was used as a method. Two preschools participated in the study, one in Sweden and one in South Africa. The number of photographs in the study is 50 images from the preschool in Sweden and 30 images from the preschool in South Africa that were used to analyse the results based on a coding table. The result shows the differences and similarities between the different preschools and how they have designed the physical indoor environment.

This paper will be focusing on sound mixing in film by using a comparative study. This article will try to find out if there is a way to use Michel Chion’s and Walter Murch’s sound design theories as design methods and compare them with each other. To test their theories we did our own sound design and sound mixing to a short film. During the mixing process we split up the project and worked on two different mixes. Strictly following the theories of Murch and Chions theories. During the comparison which contains the questions about effectivity, quality and priority in the mix we figured out that both theories could be used as a design perspective since they are both able to be divided into methods.
Denna undersökning kommer att fokusera på ljudmixning inom film med användandet av komparativ metod. Artikeln kommer försöka ta reda på om det går att använda sig utav Michel Chion och Walter Murch ljuddesignteorier som designmetoder och jämföra dem med varandra. För att testa deras teorier gjorde vi vår egna ljuddesign och mixning till en kortfilm. Under mixningsprocessen delade vi upp projektet och arbetade med två mixningar och strikt följde deras teorier. Under jämförelsen vilket innehåller frågor om effektivitet, kvalitet och prioritet i mixen fick vi reda på att de båda går att använda som designperspektiv då respektive teorier gör det möjligt att dela upp de i metoder.

My essay will be based on a comparative study aimed to investigate and compare the workers' conditions at Huseby Bruk depending on who ruled the mill during the period between 1919-1957. But also to study conditions on the basis of different work at the factory during the studied time. Gender and patriarkalism will be two theories that will permeate the paper. I will compare various workplaces such as, agriculture, sawmill workers relation to the more middle-class professions, for example inspectors. My purpose is therefore to compare different occupations and their employment terms and conditions on the basis of gender and class.   My aim is also to further compare the factories management and the relationship with the workers, then examine the structure of the relations based on gender, in what way affected the workers' situation based on who owned and ran the factory. More precisely, it means comparing Joseph, Florence and the guardian's powers related to workers at or around the mill. I will examine the period 1919- 1957 in order to study the power from three different owners -Joseph Florence and guardians

In Sweden there is scepticism if there really is a difference between the two biggest political parties, the Moderate/Conservative party and the Swedish Social Democrats. The voters feels that the arguments used by both parties are more or less the same and that it does not matter on whom you vote. Hence I am going to compare the parties’ policy programs, developed by the members in each party, by an analysis of ideas to see if the two parties are so similar that they hardly are two different options, or if there is a divergence between the two.   My choosing of the parties’ policy programs comes from a decision to look at the members’ party, they are the authors of the programs, the core. I have to admit I am not unbiased in this work. Since December 2005 I have been active in the Swedish Social Democratic Youth, and later on the Swedish Social Democrats where I had a seat in the municipal council in Kalmar between 2010 and 2014. In February this year I changed party to the Left Party, and now am solely a member. This may affect my presentation of the parties, so read critically, but since my work is not about interpretation but presentation, my political background should have minimal effect on this work.   For over 100 years the Social Democrats more or less had power in Sweden, and the Moderate/Conservative party were in opposition. This changed in 2006, and the bourgeois government got a new mandate to govern in the general election 2010.  Looking at the political subjects of work, economy, welfare, education, the EU, immigration and environment; I found out that the parties often share the same goals, but differ in how to get there. Some core differences could be found, the moderate/conservative party both has lowered taxes as a goal as well as a meaning to get to the goal, and they argue warm heartily about more private corporations in the welfare sector.  The Social Democrats on the other hand argues for investments in the welfare sector (and hence higher taxation) and the rights of the labourers.   This results in a conclusion that when the parties are discussing goals, they are fairly similar. But if you look at the means to reach the goals, they do have their differences and it does matter on which party you vote.

Although textbooks are scientifically proven that they are important and central to the school curriculum one should think critically about the content in textbooks - is it really compatible with the curriculum of following the textbook tradition? As a teacher there are different ways to reflect on which textbook to choose. It is important to compare several textbooks with each other and be aware that a textbook should follow the curriculum. A teacher examines many sections/topics in the textbooks, but in this paper only one section will be reviewed among four different textbooks. The section to be compared, in the paper, is the interwar period. The reason for this choice is that the topic is required according to the current curriculum Lgr11. The essay will show an investigation about a few selected textbook authors. The main question is if the authors write as the textbook tradition or according to the curriculum. Four different textbooks will be compared in this paper where two of these books have the same publisher, the same author but two different curriculums (Lpo94 and Lgr11). The essay is based on a qualitative research in which a text analysis is done – to analyze if the textbooks follows the required topics of the curriculum or following the textbook tradition. Even an quantitative study has been done as an analysis of textbooks whereas the amount of pages and headlines are in focus. This was made to compare how much the authors have written about the interwar period and if similar headlines was used. A comparison of different curriculums has also been done, between the Lpo94 and Lgr11. This was made to see if there was a change in content or how authors wrote about the same historical event. This may provide an explanation for why the textbook authors have written different in both textbooks written by the same author and printed by the same publisher but in line with two different curricula. With the changes that have taken place in the world during the spring of 2020 in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic has affected and had consequences in the Swedish labour market. As a result, the global crisis has brought the needs of the layoff institution to the fore again. A workplace can due to for various reasons, experience a temporary decline in the need for labour. One way to address this has traditionally been resorting to layoffs. The term of layoff means that an employer has the opportunity to temporary layoff employees. The purpose of this study was to contribute with a deeper understanding of the regulation of layoff in Sweden and to achieve this a comparative study was made through Norway’s legal rules on layoff, in the hope of contributing new knowledge in the subject for Swedish regulation. The results of this study are that there are many similarities in the employment law regulations regarding layoff in Sweden and Norway, but also some differences such as the form of legal regulations, the importance of the layoff-institute, cost distribution, collective agreements and the role of the managerial prerogative. The Swedish legal system is more intrusive in managerial prerogative than the Norwegian layoff-institute can be stated to be. The Swedish regulation places higher demands on employers, in comparison with the Norwegian regulation which focuses more on employers' right to decide whether layoffs should take place.

Systems for implementing the Structural Funds have always been crucial to the impact of the Cohesion policy. At the heart of all programs of the Structural Funds are the systems for apprising and selecting projects, determining the efficiency and effectiveness of the program implementation. The aim of this paper is to examine the implementation of the Structural Funds in the 2007-2013 period in the Czech Republic in terms of effective resource allocation through grant projects. The examination focuses on the responsibilities and methods in the project appraisal and selection used under the Operational Program Education for Competitiveness and compares them to similar procedures applied by the European Commission in management of the community Life Long Learning Program in the current financial period. Based on discussion of the respective systems, the paper highlights the main differences between the systems and proposes for consideration several changes to the project selection under the Operational Program Education for Competitiveness to increase its effectiveness and transparency of the system.

Diese Dissertation, befasst sich mit Wechselwirkungen zwischen Weidevieh und Wildtieren und basiert auf der Hypothese, dass sich stark transformierte europäische Landschaften und weniger gestörte afrikanische Savannen gegenseitig als Referenz dienen können. Aufgrund von Parallelen in der Domestikationsgeschichte, fungieren europäische und afrikanische Hausrinder als theoretischer Rahmen. Die Daten wurden mittels Kamerafallen und Interviews in vier Fallstudien erhoben. Die Untersuchungsgebiete befinden sich in räumlicher Nähe zu Schutzgebieten in Deutschland (Nationalpark Unteres Odertal und Naturpark Westhavelland), Namibia (Etosha Nationalpark) und Tansania (Serengeti Nationalpark). Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass bestimmte Praktiken des Weidemanagements in Deutschland Potential haben, die Nachhaltigkeit der Weidetierhaltung in Afrika zu erhöhen. In Afrika sind die Reaktionen der Wildtierzönosen auf verschiedene Weidesysteme stärker ausgeprägt als in Europa. Ein gemeinsames Phänomen in allen Fallstudien sind hohe Konflikte mit streng geschützten Wildarten. Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass Agrobiodiversität nur erfolgreich geschützt werden kann, wenn Managementstrategien den Anforderungen der Landwirte gerecht werden. Es gibt Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen den Untersuchungsgebieten in Deutschland und privatem Farmland in Namibia. Sorgfältige Anpassungen an die standortspezifischen Bedingungen sind erforderlich wenn ein in Europa entwickeltes Weidesystem in Afrika praktiziert wird. Die Ergebnisse aus Tansania sind ein Indikator für die extreme Veränderung der Landschaft und ausgeprägte Mensch-Wildtier-Konflikte. Besonders dort, wo Rinder hohe kulturelle Bedeutung haben, ist es nötig, die Menschen für Nachhaltigkeit im Weidemanagement zu sensibilisieren. Traditionelle Praktiken des schwindenden Pastoralismus erscheinen vielversprechend um die Nachhaltigkeit der Weidehaltung auf kommunalem Land in Afrika zu erhöhen.
These comparative studies deal with the interactions between grazing cattle and wildlife. The thesis is based on the central hypothesis that strongly transformed European landscapes and less disturbed African savannas can provide each other a valuable reference. Due to parallels in the domestication history, European and African cattle function as theoretical framework of these studies. The data were collected via camera traps and interviews in four case studies. The study areas are in close vicinity to protected areas in Germany (Lower Oder Valley National Park and Westhavelland Nature Park), Namibia (Etosha National Park) and Tanzania (Serengeti National Park). The results show that certain practices of the pasture management in Germany have potential to increase the sustainability of livestock grazing in Africa. In Africa, the responses of the wildlife communities to different grazing systems are more pronounced than in Europe. A common phenomenon in all case studies is a high level of conflict with strictly protected wildlife species. The results suggest that agro-biodiversity can only be successfully protected if management strategies meet the requirements of farmers. There are several similarities between the study areas in Germany and private farmland in Namibia. Careful adaptation to the site-specific conditions is required when a grazing system developed in Europe is practiced in Africa. The results from Tanzania are an indicator of the extreme change in the landscape and pronounced human-wildlife conflicts. Especially where cattle are of high cultural value, it is necessary to sensitize people to sustainability in pasture management. Traditional practices of declining pastoralism appear promising to increase the sustainability of grazing on communal land in Africa.

Power outages, electric-grid deficiencies and renewable energies are all examples where stationary energy storages are useful. In this master thesis, two types of stationary electrochemical energy storages are examined; vent-regulated lead-acid batteries (VRLA) and lithium iron phosphate batteries (LFP), to find out the more beneficial one in stationary uses. The techniques are examined for a large range of electric-grid services in a techno-economical investigation. The cost per delivered kWh of the energy storage is the basis of comparison which is calculated using battery degradation data with respect to C-rate, SoC, DoD, temperature, storage time and cycle frequency to estimate calendar and cyclic aging. Modelling presents neither alternative as superior although LFP is the more versatile alternative. VRLA-batteries can be a more cost-beneficial alternative for applications demanding less than 1 cycle/day, at temperatures lower than 30C, short project lifetimes and when utilizing storages beyond 80% EoL. The investment cost is lower for VRLA at equal C-rates. Cost items neglected will decrease the chances of VRLA being the cheapest technique. From a sustainability point of view, LFP is under almost all circumstances the less energy and CO2-intense technology, however recyclability is in clear favor for VRLA.
Strömavbrott, underdimensionerade elnät och förnybar energi är tre exempel där ett stationärt energilager kan tillämpas. I den här masteruppsatsen undersöks två typer av stationära elektrokemiska energilager; ventilreglerade bly-syra-batterier och litium-järnfosfat-batterier (LFP), för att finna det mer fördelaktiga alternativet i stationära applikationer. De två teknikerna analyseras i ett stort antal elnätsapplikationer i en tekno-ekonomisk studie. Kostnaden per levererad kWh av energilagret används som jämförelsebas vilken beräknas utifrån batteridegraderingsdata med avseende på C-rate, SoC, DoD, temperatur, lagringstid och cykelfrekvens för att estimera kalender- och cyklisk åldring. Modellering visar att inget av batterialternativen är överlägset i alla situationer men LFP är det mångsidigare alternativet. Bly-syra-batterier kan vara mer kostnadseffektiva för applikationer som kräver mindre än 1 (full-ekvivalent) cykel/dag vid temperaturer lägre än 30C, korta projektlivstider samt när batterilagren används bortom 80% EoL. Investeringskostnaden är lägre för bly-syra-batterier när likadan C-rate appliceras. Negligerade kostnadsposter kommer minska chanserna att bly-syra-batterier är det billigaste alternativet. Från ett hållbarhetsperspektiv är LFP nästan uteslutande den mindre energikrävande och mindre CO2-intensiva tekniken. Bly-syra-batterier har dock en klar fördel när det kommer till återvinningsbarhet.

Uppsatsen utforskar legenden om den helige Antonius frestelse och det intryck helgonberättelsen lämnat på konsten. En ikonografisk metod används för att beskriva den litteratur som skapat och utvecklat berättelsen och ur detta systematiseras de motiv som sedan översatts till bildkonsten. Genom att analysera nio olika avbildningar av Antonius skapas en kronologisk följd över hur skildringarna genomgått en transformation sedan 1500-talet.
This thesis explores the legend of Saint Anthony and his temptations, and the impression his hagiography has left on the visual arts. An iconographic method is employed to investigate literature connected to the origin and later evolution of the story, which is used to classify motifs and concepts subsequently translated into painting. Via analysis of nine different depictions of Anthony, a chronological sequence is formed which lists the transformation these portrayals have undergone since the 16th century.

Denna studie är avsedd att utreda vilka förutsättningar rektorer har att utföra sitt arbete samt om det skiljer sig åt mellan kommunala skolor och friskolor. Detta har undersökts genom att studera den bakomliggande ledningsstrukturen samt styrverktygen och hur de har format förutsättningarna för rektorer. Studien baseras på intervjuer med huvudmän, rektorer och en kvalitetschef från den kommunala skolan respektive friskola. Studien visar att styrverktygen; mål, kommunikation, mandat och beslut samt stödfunktioner och till viss del ledningsstruktur formar förutsättningen för rektorn. Dessa styrverktyg har också undersökts för att se hur väl de fungerar för att skapa rätt förutsättningar för rektorns arbete i den kommunala respektive friskoleverksamheten. Från resultaten som erhållits i denna studie anser vi att styrverktygen inte fungerar optimalt för att skapa bra förutsättningar till rektorerna, för att utföra sitt arbete. Framförallt har resultaten visat på att rektorer i friskolan har bättre förutsättningar än rektorer i den kommunala skolan.
This study is intended to investigate the prerequisites for the principals to perform their work and whether they differ between schools. This has been investigated by studying the underlying management structure and the management instrument and how they have shaped the prerequisites for the principals. The study is based on interviews with princi- pals and a quality director from both public school and private school. The study shows that the management instruments goals, communication, mandate and decision as well as support functions, and to some extent the management structure, shapes the prerequisites for the principals. These management instrument have also been looked into more thor- oughly, in order to see how well they work to create the right conditions for the principals in the public school and private school. From the results that was obtained from this study, we could see that the management instruments don’t work optimally in order to give the right prerequisites for the principals. Mainly have the results shown that the principals in the private school have better perquisites than the principals working in the public school.

Syftet med denna studie är att jämföra C.S. Lewis bok Kung Caspian och skeppet Gryningen och filmen med samma namn för att se vilka skillnader och likheter som finns mellan båda medierna. En narrativ analys och en komparativ analys har genomförts. Fyra frågeställningar har varit underlag för analysen, vilka är:• Vad har förändrats, lagts till eller tagits bort vid filmatiseringen av boken som är mest uppenbart?• Vilka skillnader och likheter finns mellan karaktärerna i bok och film?• Vilka skillnader och likheter finns mellan tre utvalda scener i bok och film?• Hur påverkar förändringarna berättelsens tematik?Resultaten visar att den mest uppenbara skillnaden mellan de olika medierna är att bokens huvudsyfte är att finna de sju försvunna riddarna medan filmen har vinklat det till att finna de sju svärden som tillhört riddarna. Karaktärernas framställning liknar varandra med en liten avvikelse på Lucy och Ripipip och att de tre scenerna utspelar sig i olika ordning jämfört med boken. Berättelsens tema är dock detsamma i både boken och filmatiseringen. I undervisningssyfte är både boken och filmen användbara i undervisningen för årskurs 4-6 i det svenska språket.
The aim of this study is to compare C.S. Lewis's book Voyage of the Dark treader and the movie with the same name to see what differences and similarities there is between both medias. A narrative analysis and a comparative analysis have been implemented. Four issues have been the basis for the analysis, which are:• What has been the most obvious change when filming the book?• What are the differences and similarities between the characters in the book and the movie?• What differences and similarities exist between three selected scenes in the book and in the movie?• How do the changes affect the story's theme?The results show that the most obvious difference between the various media is that the main purpose of the book is to find the seven lost knights while the movie has angled it to find the seven swords that belonged to the knights. The characters' portrayal is similar to each other with a slight divergency from Lucy and Ripipip and the three scenes take place in different order compared to the book. However, the theme of the story is the same in both the book and the movie. For educational purposes, both the book and the movie are useful in teaching in the school subject Swedish for grades 4-6.

The study examines the European coverage in four leading Nordic newspapers during two periods in 1993 and in 1996. During the first period, three countries were negotiating for membership in the European Union. During the second period, work on a new European Constitution was ongoing, to be negotiated by the Intergovernmental Conference at the end of the period. Two of the applicant countries, Finland and Sweden, were then members of the union since Jan 1, 1995. Voters in the third country, Norway, opted to stay outside the union. Norway is, however closely linked to the union by the previous EEA agreement. Finally, the fourth country, Denmark, had limited its longstanding membership in four important areas. Results of the main study in 1993 indicate a great difference in the degree of Europeanness of the coverage of European affairs, as indicated by the share of European issues, sources, players, institutions etc. The Danish paper, the Politiken, was on all counts genuinely European in its coverage. This could, to begin with, be understood in terms of a relational context - Denmark was a member of the European Community, the other countries were not. In 1996, as could be expected, the Norwegian paper, the Aftenposten, reduced its coverage of European affairs to about half the previous volume, the Finnish and Swedish papers, the Hufvudstadsbladet and the Dagens Nyheter, increased their volumes to new highs. The Danish paper maintained its previously comparatively high volume of European coverage, and was still distinctly more European in its outlook on transnational politics. This could be understood in terms of a new Maturity proposition - it may take a long time for the national media to come to terms with a new political environment. The study also puts forward the proposition that Danish political culture requires a different coverage of European affairs, and also requires an opportunity to discuss and evaluate European politics. On a theoretical level, the study supports the idea that national experience, historical and relational contexts influence media content. National agendas powerfully determine the orientation of transnational political communication . Three in-depth studies by and large confirm results from the content analysis. A separate exercise inspired by Grounded Theory gives rise to three theoretical concepts that seem to be fundamental dimensions of European political communication: Legitimacy (media coverage contributes to status conferral and encourages deliberation of cooperation as an idea), Participation (media coverage as expressions of intrinsical and instrumental motives for joining and taking responsibility towards European cooperation), and Mondialization/Universalism (media coverage of Europe's efforts in the global arena)

The subject of this essay in archaeology is the economy at the mining village of Saladuringthe 16th and early 17th century. The silvermine in Sala was once the foremost producer of silver in Sweden, and the mine as well as the mining village had had a long and rich history. This history can be seen in historical documents as well as in archaeological findings. The lure of silver attracted many different people to the mining village. This in turn madetrade an important part of the mining village. The trade made it possible for coins to circulatefreely and this made it possible for a monetary based economy to be established in the miningvillage. The focus of this essay is mainly on coin finds, but also on other archaeological items foundduring excavations of the mining village. These other archaeological finds can shed some light on the type of economy that existed in the mining village. Included is a comparison of coin finds in two other locations, namely the chapel ruins of St. Ursula in Västerås and Vårfrukyrkan in Enköping. Each of the churches is located near Sala and were used contemporary with the mining village. The purpose of including them into this study is to see whether these churches used the same stock of coin as they did in the mining village.

Das darüber hinaus sinkende Niveau motorischer Fähigkeiten und Fertigkeiten zieht Beeinträchtigungen der kindlichen Entwicklung auf physischer und psychischer Ebene mit entsprechenden Folgekosten für die Gesundheitssysteme der Länder nach sich. The increased sedentary lifestyle of children and adolescents in industrialized countries has evolved into a public health problem over the past decades. In addition, the declining level of motor abilities and skills draws impairment of children development on physical and psychological level, with appropriate follow-up costs for the health systems of countries. Scientists at the University of West Bohemia Pilsen and the Chemnitz University of Technology have for this reason the goal to investigate and to contrast the health situation of children starting school in the Czech Republic and in Germany with the pilot study "Cross-border comparative analysis of the motor skills of children of younger school age"

The need to collect electronic communications for foreign intelligence purposes has increased in the past two decades, primarily due to the increase of international threats such as terrorism and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Meanwhile, digitalization and technical innovation have given rise to new possibilities for government surveillance and expanded the scope of the types of communications that may be collected. This gives rise to issues concerning the balance between effective foreign intelligence activities and the protection of personal integrity. This thesis performs a comparative analysis of the protection of personal integrity in signals intelligence in Sweden and the United States, by examining the protection of personal integrity under the Swedish Instrument of Government and Article 8 of the European Convention of Human Rights (European Convention) compared to the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution, and the requirements for signals intelligence under the Swedish Act (2008:717) on Signals Intelligence in Defense Intelligence Operations (the Surveillance Act) and § 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA, as amended). The analysis further includes a review of the safeguards adopted in each legal system to limit the collection of communications and to ensure that personal integrity is considered in signals intelligence operations. In regard to the protection of personal integrity, the analysis concludes that Swedish law, combined with the European Convention, offers a wider and more extensive protection for individuals when compared to the United States’ framework. However, all provisions include a requirement of proportionality or reasonableness intended to balance the need for effective law enforcement with the protection of personal integrity. The analysis further concludes that the Fourth Amendment has limited impact on signals intelligence carried out under § 702 FISA due to its limitations to the people of the United States, and that individuals' ability to exercise their rights is greater under the European Convention. The European Convention further offers protection beyond Sweden's borders, resulting in some protection for non-Swedish persons. As for the signals intelligence conducted under the Surveillance Act and § 702 FISA, several similarities and differences are identified. Both regulations limit the signals intelligence to be carried out for certain purposes. However, a notable difference is that, while signals intelligence under both the Surveillance Act and § 702 FISA are limited to foreign conditions, Swedish signals intelligence may be conducted on communications that cross Sweden’s borders. Meanwhile, collection under § 702 FISA may only target non-US persons outside of the United States. Despite this difference, signals intelligence under both regulations result in the collection of communications of the country’s own citizens. To limit the collection, both the Swedish National Defense Radio Establishment (Sw. Försvarets Radioanstalt, FRA) and the United States National Security Agency (NSA) apply certain safeguards. These include the use of search terms in Swedish signals intelligence and selectors in American signals intelligence. While they are both used to make relevant selections in the collection of communications, there are some notable difference between the two. For example, selectors consist of, inter alia, an email address or phone number, while search terms should not, as a general rule, target a specific individual. Further, there is no warrant requirement for collections under § 702 FISA compared to the Surveillance Act, which requires court approval. Lastly, in regard to the control and review of Swedish and American signals intelligence, the analysis concludes that such activities are conducted in different manners in both legal systems. This includes both internal and external controls. However, the Swedish control units appear to have greater opportunities to intervene by, for example, controlling the FRA's access to signal carriers and interrupting an ongoing collection if needed.

This study aims to examine the differences and similarities between the propaganda used by the United states and the Nazis during the second world war. The object for the analysis are movies, and what expressions of propaganda that can be seen and deciphered. This study will also try to explain why there are similarities and differences between the two countries propaganda. The tool for the analysis of the movies is based on Ralph Donald’s method to interpret propaganda used in Hollywood movies. I have made some modifications to his method in order to apply it on Nazi movies as well. The movies used in this study are the American The Great Dictator and the German Die Rothschild’s. I have narrowed it down to two movies because of the time limit of this study. Furthermore, I have presented a small, but crucial part of the previous research in the field of propaganda to suit and to strengthen my arguments and conclusions in the analysis of the movies. The reason why the research is narrow is because of the immense field of propaganda. The results from this study shows that there are similarities and also differences between the propaganda used by the Americans and the Nazis, and that this in part can be explained by the propagandas purpose to dehumanize the enemy. It can also be explained by the fact that propaganda is used to boost the morale of the Homefront during wartime.

This study is about trust for public institutions and what the foundation is that builds this confidence. For this study I have used three dependent variables to define different aspects of public institutions. These are trust in the legal system, trust in political parties and state of health services nowadays.  The method that is used in the study is based on a comparative study between two countries, Sweden and Portugal.  The actual result is made up by comparing means and regressions by using 13 independent variables. Many of the independent variables that has been used is deriving from institutional theories of Putnam and Rothstein These theories points out the importance of strong traditions of civic engagement and that the success of the trust of the institutions depends in large part on the horizontal bonds that make up social capital. Other theories describe the malicious venom that is the outcome of corruption and the importance of happiness. The cultural dimensions by Hofstede are also included in the list of theories, especially those dealing with the freedom and free from collectivism and caring for others well-being. With help from these theories thirteen independent variables were emerged. The result that comes from the study is that the trust is first of all the obvious Sweden has a higher level of trust in all the different aspects than Portugal. Although the regressions shows that only 4,8 -11,2% can be explained, there is still possible to make clear conclusions. The clearest conclusion we can draw is that state of happiness makes a difference regarding trust for the institutions. Other things that influence the trust are civic engagement by working in another organization and believing in equality seems to correlate with higher trust. Caring for others seems to have a slightly negative effect on the trust. With this we can conclude that altruists do not have a higher trust on public institutions than others. A clearer tendency is that the sense of feeling free is negative on the trust for the public institutions.

The bachelor thesis examines the protection of religious freedom in Sweden and France, with a main point on the right to wear religious symbols and clothing. The subject is processed in relation to the Member States obligations in accordance with the freedom of religion, provided for in Article 9 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights. The right to wear religious symbols and attire has a broad meaning, and in this thesis special focus is placed on the right to wear a religious veil, as the Swedish legal situation is in stark contrast to the French law's restrictive view on the subject. In order to answer the thesis main question, a legal-judicial and comparative law approach is applied. Legislation that has been dealt with in its entirety, is the second chapter in the Swedish regeringsformen (1974:152), the European Convention, the French principle of laïcité, the French Education Act (Article L141-5-1 du Code de l’éducation), the French law on the prohibition of veils in public environments (Loi n° 2010-1192  du 11 octobre 2010 interdisant la dissimulation du visage dans l'espace public) and the French Constitution (Constitution of October 4, 1958). Finally, the authors orientation in the research questions of the essay has been emphasized, and a remark about the French legislation has been made.

The purpose of this study is to provide an insight into six primary school teachers’ attitudes, ideas and approaches to teaching reading comprehension in Finnish and Swedish schools. In addition, the informants’ reflections on the PISA studies’ results concerning reading comprehension are also included. The study is comparative and based on interviews with primary school teachers in Finland and Sweden. Six teachers, three from a Finish school and three from different Swedish schools, have been interviewed by e-mail. The result shows that on the one hand there are some similarities but also differences both concerning approach and practice. Regarding the reasons why the PISA results differ between the two countries, the informants seem to differ because they have different views on how their colleagues in the other country work and they have no knowledge of each other´s work.

This study is a second year thesis in Software Engineering at the Blekinge Institute of Technology. It investigates differences between frameworks and Vanilla JavaScript according to requirements in modern web applications. Region Blekinge, a municipal institution, wanted to research a prototype for a search function for their future website. Using the prototype young people would be able to retrieve information about schools and educations in their area to better be able to make a good choice. The objective is to find out what a JavaScript framework has to contribute, and especially when it comes to maintainability. A comparative analysis focusing on the code implementation was therefore made between two prototypes of the application. The results of the study shows that Vanilla JavaScript is more popular and has a higher maturity, while the framework Vue.js is more maintainable when it comes to reusability of code components, databinding, readability of code and code size. A drawback for frameworks is that they have a tendency to evolve quickly, and some of them even gets obsolete. The choice between the competing techniques was hard, but in the end Vanilla JavaScript was chosen for the application. The main reason being that the future is estimated to be more stable for Vanilla JavaScript, and for a municipal institution stability is important since one needs to appear trustworthy and build systems that will remain as stable as possible in the long term.
Denna studie är en andraårs exjobbsrapport i Programvaruteknik vid Blekinges Tekniska Högskola. Den undersöker skillnader i ramverk och Vanilla JavaScript enligt krav för modernawebbapplikationer. Region Blekinge efterfrågade en prototyp för en sökfunktion för deras framtida webbsida. Genom att använda prototypen skulle unga kunna söka information om skolor och utbildningar i deras område för att lättare kunna göra ett bra val. Målsättningen är att ta reda på vad ett JavaScript-ramverk kan erbjuda, där fokus ligger på frågor om underhållbarhet. En jämförande analys som fokuserade på det programmeringstekniska gjordes mellan två prototyper av applikationen. Resultatet av studien visar att Vanilla JavaScript är mer populärt och har en högre grad av mognad, medan ramverket Vue.js är mer underhållbart med tanke på återanvändbarhet av kodkomponenter, datahantering, läsbarhet av kod och kodmängd. En nackdel för ramverk är att de har en tendens att utvecklas snabbt, och vissa av dem blir till och med ibland föråldrade. Valet mellan de konkurrerande teknikerna var inte självklart, men till slut föll det på Vanilla JavaScript. Huvudanledningen är att framtiden bedöms vara mer stabil för Vanilla JavaScript, och för en kommunal institution är stabilitet viktigt eftersom man behöver signalera tillförlitlighet och bygga system som kommer att förbli så stabila som möjligt i det långa perspektivet.

The aim of this bachelors thesis has been to examine and analyse the framing used when reporting about Boris Johnson in context with Brexit in both Swedish and British media coverage. The research questions examined in this study were: In what way is Boris Johnson framed in British and Swedish media coverage surrounding Brexit in his first three weeks as prime minister? What could explain the possible differences that occurs between the Swedish and British media coverage? I have in combination with a qualitative text analysis as well as framing theory and news valuation theory analysed material from four major news papers. Two news papers from Sweden, Dagens Nyheter and Aftonbladet. As well as two from Great Britain, The Guardian UK and The Sun UK. One of each county’s news paper focuses on qualitative and objective journalism and one from each country which can be regarded as a tabloid, evening paper, from these four news papers a total of 12 articles, three from each paper was selected. To arrive at my conclusion every article was analysed trough what frame, conflict, personification or elite person, Boris Johnson was portrayed as well as if the frames felt clear, subtle or well as if any frame could not be found in the text. Through the analysis I found the result to be that every article had personified Boris Johnson with Brexit, even if the article did not directly have a focus on the Brexit conflict. The personification is a constant backgrung trough every individual article. Secondly I found that the frames through which the newspapers portrayed conflict differed, depending from which country the news paper reported from. The Swedish news papers portrayed conflict through a broader perspective, having a stronger focus on Brexit as a concept whilst the British newspaper framed conflict in a much more detailed way. Focusing on more detailed topics with higher interest for the british population.

As the amount of data increases every year, the need for effective structuring of data is a growing problem. This thesis aims to investigate and compare how four different clustering algorithms perform on a practical use case for images. The four algorithms used are Affinity Propagation, BIRCH, Rectifying Self-Organizing Maps, Deep Embedded Clustering. The algorithms get the image metadata and also its content, extracted using a pre-trained deep convolutional neural network. The results demonstrate that while there are variations in the data, Affinity Propagation and BIRCH shows the most potential among the four algorithms. Furthermore, when metadata is available it improves the results of the algorithms that can process the extreme values cause. For Affinity Propagation the mean share score is improved by 5.6 percentage points and the silhouette score is improved by 0.044. BIRCH mean share score improves by 1.9 percentage points and silhouette score by 0.051. RSOM and DEC could not process the metadata.
Allt eftersom datamängderna ökar för varje år som går så ökar även behovet av att strukturera datan på en bra sätt. Detta arbete syftar till att undersöka och jämföra hur väl fyra olika klustringsalgoritmer fungerar för ett praktiskt användningsfall med bilder. De fyra algorithmerna som används är Affinity Propagation, BIRCH, Rectifying Self-Organizing Maps och Deep Embedded Clustering. Algoritmerna hade bildernas metadata samt deras innehåll, framtaget med hjälp av ett deep convolutional neural network, att använda för klustringen. Resultaten visar att även om det finns stora variationer i utfallen, visar Affinity Propagation och BIRCH den största potentialen av de fyra algoritmerna. Vidare verkar metadatan, när den finns tillgänglig, förbättra resultaten för de klustringsalgoritmer som kunde hantera de extremvärden som metadatan kunde ge upphov till. För Affinity propagation föbättrades den genomsnittliga delnings poängen med 5,6 procentenheter och dess silhouette index ökade med 0.044. BIRCHs genomsnittliga delnings poäng ökade med 1,9 procentenheter samt dess silhouette index förbättades med 0.051. RSOM och DEC kunde inte processa metadatan.

This study acknowledges how the democratic mission has changed over time and which role it has today. By using a comparative idea analysis, fourteen Swedish and Finish curriculums and syllabuses stretching from 1970 to 2015 has been analysed and compared. Therefore, our purpose is to analyse how the curriculums and syllabuses can be compared to the modern society versus the late modern society, by using ideal types based on theories that legitimates our study. With this method, we were able to compare how much the late modern society has influenced the Swedish and Finnish curriculums and syllabuses. In the result, we concluded that the Finnish curriculums are still influenced by the modern society in a broader way than the Swedish. The Swedish curriculums have been more influenced by the late modern society as a result of the increased focus on the individual, which is a consequent of the development from the modern to the late modern society. The latest Finnish curriculums are also influenced by the late modern society. However, when they write about individuals, the importance of being a part of the community is always the primary goal. The comparison between the countries syllabuses shows a different sight of the subject social studies. In Sweden, it plays a larger role in the mission of creating democratic citizens, as to Finland, where it plays almost the same role as all the other subjects. The final discussion in this study is whether the democratic mission is still functioning in the society we are living in today. The conclusion is that it has to be changed, otherwise it will not legitimize in the late modern society. Furthermore, it has to change from being a firm mission to a more fluid one. Additionally, it has to create an environment where the pupils can become liberate subjects.

The aim of the study is to investigate how upper secondary school teachers of Swedish work with female authors writing in the period 1900–1940. The research questions concern how upper secondary school teachers work with the female authors, how their work interacts with steering documents and textbooks, whether the teachers show any similarities and differences in their work, and how female authors are treated in the textbooks and steering documents that are used. Semi-structured qualitative interviews were conducted with three upper secondary school teachers and one textbook per teacher was analysed together with the steering documents. The study reveals clear similarities and differences in the teachers’ work. The teachers work chronologically, period by period, and they deal with female authors in terms of a societal context, but they do not think that the work with women has any intrinsic value. Textbooks and steering documents have a central role to play in the teaching and are used together with other teaching material. The textbooks have an over-representation of male authors and the female authors are treated on their own, separated from the rest of the text and viewed in relation to male authors. The textbooks maintain a gender system where the man is the norm and the sexes are kept apart. The steering documents explicitly deal with female authors to a small extent and are shown to dictate of fundamental principles for what is considered valuable to consider in school work.

In Sweden prostitution is by many considered to be a social problem that primarily affects women. To counteract prostitution is a political priority and as a result the purchase of sexual services is prohibited by law. Since the law that prohibits the purchase of sexual services entered into force it has been continuously debated and widely disputed. The aim of this thesis is to compare the image of prostitution found in the travaux préparatoires of the law with four sex workers’ view of the phenomenon. A discourse analysis is performed to establish which images of prostitution appear in theory and in practice. The results show that the images of prostitution in the travaux préparatoires of the law differ widely from the views expressed by the interviewees. The discourses identified in the travaux préparatoires unanimously emphasize the injurious effects of the prostitution and the exposed situation of the sex workers. In the discourses identified in the interview material the businesslike aspects of prostitution and the sex workers’ autonomy is emphasized. The results raise questions about the completeness of the travaux préparatoires and bring the need for studies where different groups of sex workers are questioned to the fore.

Synen på sex kan se väldigt olika ut beroende på dess kontext, och för att kunna förstå sex och sexualitet i sin helhet krävs det att det ses ur sitt sociala, historiska, kulturella och politiska sammanhang. Studien utgår från en komparativ ansats, då den avser att identifiera eventuella samband och skillnader mellan Sverige och Nederländerna kring synen på sex, samt vad som kan vara orsaken till dessa. Som jämförande länder valdes Sverige och Nederländerna då de kan ses som varandras motpoler när det kommer till konservativa och liberala värderingar. Studien undersöker sex utifrån unga kvinnors perspektiv, och material har samlats in med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer i respektive land. Således är syftet med studien att undersöka unga kvinnors syn på sex i Sverige samt Nederländerna. Resultaten visade att trots olika värderingar och politiska åsikter i länderna så har unga kvinnor liknande tankar och upplevelser när det kommer till synen på sex. Den främsta förklaringen till de liknande åsikterna kopplas till feminismens utveckling samt internet som informationskälla. Den största skillnaden i åsikter hos kvinnorna var kring sexuellt arbete såsom prostitution, där kvinnorna i Sverige var negativa medan kvinnorna i Nederländerna var positiva, men med en viss skepticism. En möjlig förklaring till att kvinnorna i Nederländerna var mer positiva till prostitution var på grund av normaliseringen som skett genom inflytande från politiken.

Denna studie syftar till att utforska och jämföra på vilka sätt lärare i musik och idrott erfar fenomenet prestation i undervisning på gymnasienivå. Detta görs med forskningsfrågorna: Hur ser musiklärare och idrottstränare på fenomenet prestation inom sina respektive områden? och På vilka sätt arbetar musiklärare och idrottstränare för att gynna elevers prestationer? Studiens vetenskapsfilosofiska utgångspunkt är fenomenologi och dess teoretiska utgångspunkt är allmänpsykologins syn på prestation och motivation. Den forskningsmetod som används är semistrukturerad intervju och det är tre musiklärare och tre idrottstränare som har intervjuats. Intervjuerna har transkriberats och bearbetats med hjälp av tematisk analys. Hur informanterna erfar fenomenet prestation och deras arbetssätt har har belysts var för sig, och sedan ställts bredvid varandra och jämförts. De svar som informanterna har gett visar studiens resultat, dvs. fenomenet prestation. Resultatet är uppdelat i två huvudteman: Ämnesbaserat eller individbaserat fokus och Lärarens roll - Instrumentalguide eller målsättare. Det första temat beskriver hur informanterna erfar fenomenet prestation medan det andra temat beskriver vilka arbetssätt informanterna menar att de använder sig av för att gynna sina elevers prestationer. I studiens avslutande kapitel diskuteras resultatets teman med studiens vetenskapsfilosofiska utgångspunkt, teoretiska perspektiv och tidigare forskningsfält.
This study aims to explore and compare the ways in which teachers in music and sport, experience the phenomenon of achievement in teaching at the secondary level. The study has two research questions: How does teachers in music and sport look upon the phenomenon of achievement? and How does teachers in music and sport work to promote student achievements? The philosophical perspective is phenomenology and the theoretical foundation is psychology concerning performance and motivation. The research method is semi-structured interviews, and three music teachers and three sports coaches have been interviewed. The interviews were transcribed and processed using thematic analysis and the result presents the phenomenon of achievement. The results are divided into two main themes: Subject-based or individual-based focus and The role of the teacher - Instrumental guide or goal promotar. The first theme describes the informants 'views on the phenomenon of achievement, and the second theme highlights the work informants use to benefit their students' achievements. The study's concluding chapter discuss the result in relation to research, psychology and phenomenology.

Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka investeringsbeslut inom designbranschen och skapa en större förståelse kring investeringsbesluten i designbyråer samt uppmärksamma designbyråer att investeringar kunde vara en konkurrenskraft. Teoretisk referensram: Studien behandlade olika investeringstyper, Porters fem konkurrenskrafter, risk, osäkerhet och lönsamhet. I uppsatsen användes också sju tidigare forskningar kring dessa områden samt forskning inom SME-företag, investeringsbeslut samt hur känslor påverkade vid beslutsfattande av investeringar. Metod: I uppsatsen har en deduktiv forskningsansats brukats. Studien genomfördes med en kvalitativ forskningsmetod i form av intervjuer med tio designbyråer. Kraven för designbyråerna var att de skulle ha olika arbetsområden i Stockholms innerstad samt att de skulle innefatta minst fyra anställda. Ytterligare ett krav var att de skulle ha välkända kunder. Intervjuerna genomfördes personligen, per telefon samt via mail. I studien tillämpades en komparativ metod för att kunna jämföra likheter och skillnader mellan designbyråerna samt finna kopplingar mellan designbyråers investeringar och beslutsfattandet kring dem. Resultat: Studien resulterade i att investeringar i personal samt kompetens var den största samt viktigaste investeringen då åtta av tio designbyråer nämnde det. Sex designbyråer gjorde investeringar i lokal och kontor och fyra designbyråer utförde expansionsinvesteringar. Tre av tio designbyråer använde sig av exempelvis kalkyler eller return on investment vid investeringsbeslut. För sex av designbyråerna spelade känslor in vid beslut av en investering. Åtta av dem ansåg att en investering var lönsam när intäkten översteg kostnaden för investeringen. Sju av designbyråerna såg investeringar som en risk men främst som en möjlighet. Slutsats: Designbyråer i Stockholm gjorde investeringar i främst personal, lokal, resor, expansion och datorer för att generera värde vilket också gjorde investeringen lyckad. Strategiska planeringen bestod främst av budgetering samt ett fåtal designbyråer utförde kalkyler. Det som var avgörande vid beslutsfattande var ekonomiska och emotionella värden. En investering sågs som lönsam när intäkten översteg kostnaden. Designbyråer såg investeringar främst som möjligheter men som behövde vägas gentemot risken. Jämfört med den finansiella teorin och designbyråers syn på investeringar skiljde sig inte speciellt mycket men hur besluten fattades skiljde sig markant.
Purpose: The purpose of this paper was to examine investment decisions in the design industry to provide greater comprehension on investment decisions in the design agencies and to notice design agencies that investments were a competititiveness.   Theoretical framework:The paper examined different types of investments, Porter’s five forces, risk, uncertainty and profitability. The paper also applied seven previous researches on these areas and also researches in SME, investment decisions and how feelings affected investment decisions. Methodology: A deductive research approach has been used in this paper. The study was conducted by a qualitative research method which included interviews with ten design agencies. The requirements for the design agencies included different work areas in Stockholm inner city and the design agency had to have at least four employees. Another requirement was that they had to have wellknown customers. There were face-to-face interviews, interviews by e-mail and telephone. The study was made by a comparative method to make comparisions between design agencies to find similarities, differences and connections between investments which design agencies made and eventually the decision making. Results: The results of the study demonstrated that investment in employees and competence was the greatest investment according to eight of ten design agencies. Six of the design agencies invested in premises and offices and four of ten made investments in expansion. Three of ten design agencies used calculations or return on investment while making investment decisions. It was found that six of ten design agencies included feelings in making investment decisions. Eight of ten considered that an investment was profitable when revenue exceeded the cost of the investment. Seven of the design agencies considered investments as a risk but mainly as an opportunity.   Conclusion: Design agencies in Stockholm invested mainly in employees and even in offices, business trips, expansion and computers to generate value which also lead to a successful investment. Strategic planning mainly consisted of budgeting as well as a few design agencies performed calculus. Economic and emotional values were a decisive factor in investment decisions. An investment was considered as profitable when revenue exceeded the cost. Design agencies primarly considered investments as opportunities but they needed to be in balance with the risks. The design agencies’ view of investments compared to the financial theory did not differ very much but how the decisions were made differed significantly.

Den tekniska utvecklingen, närmare bestämt introduktionen av fenomenet självkörande fordon, har medfört att det i skrivande stund föreligger viss oklarhet beträffande ansvarsfrågan enligt gällande rätt. Denna oklarhet har varit föremål för diskussion i ett delbetänkande från regeringen. I SOU 2016:28 finns sammanfattade förslag på reglering, däremot endast avseende försöksverksamheten ”Drive Me” som biltillverkaren Volvo ligger bakom. För att bemöta denna oklarhet har rättsläget diskuterats och problematiserats i hopp om ökad insikt i frågan. Detta utifrån framförallt skadeståndslagen, trafikskadelagen och produktansvarslagen samt generella skadeståndsrättsliga principer och ansvarsformer. Sammantaget har det kunnat konstateras att det inte finns någon självklar lösning på problemet, även om det i ett flertal situationer går att få en uppfattning av vad som vore juridiskt rimligt. Uppsatsen bidrar således till en problematisering av rättsläget inför den kommande harmoniseringen av teknik och juridik; ett steg i utvecklingen.
The technological development, specifically the introduction of the phenomenon of driverless vehicles, has meant that the time of writing, some ambiguity regarding the issue of liability under the law exists. This uncertainty has been discussed in an interim report from the government. Proposals on regulation are summarized in current SOU, however, only for the pilot project “Drive Me” as the automaker Volvo is behind. In order to address this uncertainty, the legal position has discussed and problematized in the hope of increasing awareness on the issue. Mainly from tort liability, Traffic damage Act, product liability law and liability forms and general principles of tort law. Overall, it´s been established that there is no obvious solution to the problem, although it´s possible to get an idea of what would be legally reasonable in a number of situations. The essay contributes thus to a discussion of problems of the legal position for the upcoming harmonization of technology and law; a stage of development.

Rörfonation och traditionell svensk röstbehandling är två av de vanligaste behandlingsalternativen inom svensk röstlogopedi idag. Som forskare är det viktigt att kontinuerligt utvärdera de behandlingar som erbjuds för att göra vården mer kvalitativ och kostnadseffektiv. Finns det skillnader i behandlingseffekt mellan dessa två röstbehandlingar? Är skillnaderna så tydliga att det går att fastslå att den ena behandlingen är att föredra framför den andra? Med analyser av ett patientmaterial, före och efter behandling, i form av akustisk analys, perceptuella bedömningar av en grupp erfarna logopeder samt patienternas självskattningar syftar föreliggande uppsats till att besvara vad behandlingsformerna har för effekt inom dessa områden. Patientmaterialet bestod av totalt 28 patienter varav 23 fullföljde behandling. Tolv av dessa erhöll behandling med rörfonation medan resterande elva patienter erhöll traditionell svensk röstbehandling.. Utöver röstinspelningar bestod materialet av patienternas självskattningar, i form av RHI- och Swe-VAPP-formulär. Gällande behandlingseffekt på akustiska parametrar kunde inga slutsatser dras. De perceptuella parametrarna afoni, hyperfunktion och knarr förbättrades sett till hela urvalet, oavsett typ av röstbehandling. Tydliga förbättringar sågs i patienternas självskattningar efter båda behandlingsmetoderna. Röstbehandling ger således positiva resultat, men några skillnader i behandlingseffekt mellan de två olika metoderna för röstbehandling kunde inte påvisas.
Tube phonation and traditional Swedish voice therapy are two of the most common voice therapy options in Sweden today. As a researcher, it is important to continually evaluate available therapy options to make health care more qualitative and cost effective. Are there differences in treatment effect between these two voice treatments? If so, are the differences so obvious that it is possible to conclude that one treatment should be preferred over the other? Analyses of a patient material, before and after treatment, which included acoustic analysis, perceptual analysis by a group of experienced speech-language therapists and patients' selfassessments were made aiming to answer what effect the two treatment options have in these areas. The patient material consisted of 28 patients, of whom 23 completed the therapy. Twelve of them received treatment with tube phonation while the remaining eleven patients received traditional Swedish voice therapy. Besides audio recordings, the material consisted of patients' self-assessments pre- and post-therapy, including VHI and Swe-VAPP forms. The treatment effect on acoustic parameters was inconclusive. The perceptual parameters aphonia, hyper function, and creaking improved over the entire sample, regardless of the type of voice therapy. Clear improvements were seen in the patients' self-assessments after both therapy methods. Voice therapy thus gives positive results, but no differences in treatment effect between the two different methods of voice therapy were seen.

Studiens syfte är att urskilja teman i böckerna om Musse och Helium genom en litteraturanalys, samt vilka teman som framkommer genom elevers (åk 1–2) tolkning av ett utdrag ur böckerna. Studien fokuserar även på befintliga och framtolkade teman från böckernas tillhörande lärarhandledning. Studiens tre resultat jämförs i en komparativ analys. De teman som tolkades fram i litteraturanalysen var; det goda och det onda, dörren till ett magiskt land, att ta lärdom av livets utmaningar, samt det kompetenta barnet. De teman som eleverna tolkade fram i textsamtalen var; det goda och det onda, den hemliga fantasivärlden och allt hänger på dom!. I analysen av lärarhandledningen tolkades en mängd olika teman fram, några var redan vedertagna i instruktionen, vår tolkning av lärarhandledningen landade i att det går att urskilja flera teman beroende på vilken avsikt som finns. I den komparativa analysen så synliggjordes likheter och skillnader mellan de olika teman som tolkats fram i samtligt resultat. Analysen synliggjorde också möjligheter och svårigheter mellan olika arbetssätt. Vår huvudsakliga slutsats är att vi ser goda möjligheter med att arbeta med detta material med tillhörande lärarhandledning i undervisning. Materialet bör däremot inte ses som fullständigt, då vi ser fler möjligheter att använda det skönlitterära verket än vad lärarhandledningen innefattar.

The purpose of this essay was to examine and compare what attitudes Swedish and Belgian social workers may have towards residential care and foster care for children and young people. To answer the purpose eight qualitative interviews with four Swedish and four Belgian social workers were made. The results were analyzed by theory of organization and professional acting space. The results of the study show that the social workers in both countries preferred foster care, especially for small children, and that the Swedish social workers had a more negative attitude towards residential care than the Belgian social workers. Even though the Belgian social workers preferred foster care, they found themselves forced to choose residential care due to lack of available foster care facilities, something that did not seem to affect the Swedish social workers. Factors that affected the Swedish and the Belgian social workers professional acting space were the consent from parents, discussing with colleagues and specialization of interventions.

Konkurrensmiljön i populära destinationer skapar ett behov för hotell att differentiera sig. Implementering av CSR är ett alternativ för att skapa mervärde och bättre relationer med det omgivande samhället. Därav får kommunikationen av CSR en strategisk betydelse. Hotell kan både påverka och bli påverkade av det omgivande samhället, även vad det gäller CSR. Samhället kan se olika ut i exempelvis Nord- och Sydeuropa, där länderna har sociokulturella och finansiella skillnader. Stockholm och Rhodos är två populära resmål i Sverige och Grekland, med annorlunda lokala omständigheter. Syftet med denna uppsats är att komparativt undersöka hur väletablerade hotell i Rhodos och Stockholm kommunicerar CSR. Vidare syftar undersökningen till att skapa förståelse om lokala omständigheter påverkar hotellens CSR-initiativ. Denna studie består av sex strukturerade intervjuer, varav tre i respektive destination, samt en text- och bildanalys av hotellens webbsidor och sociala medier. Det framkom att majoriteten av de undersökta hotellen i Rhodos och Stockholm kommunicerar CSR-initiativen primärt genom sociala medier, i synnerhet Instagram och Facebook. Innehållet i CSR-kommunikationen berör mestadels miljörelaterade initiativ. CSR är inte ett krav i hotellbranschen, endast en fördel för hotellet och den omgivande miljön. Lokala omständigheter kan påverka hotellens implementering och kommunikation av CSR. Den ekonomiska aspekten har störst påverkan på invånarna och hur hotell hjälper lokalinvånarna, främst gällande hotellen i Grekland. Vidare framkom det att en standardiserad CSR-mall inte kan gälla internationellt eftersom hotell påverkar och blir påverkade av det omgivande samhället.
The competitive environment in popular destinations creates a need for hotels to differentiate. Implementing CSR is an option for added value and better relationships with the surrounding community. Hence, the promotion of CSR has a strategic importance. Hotels can both affect and be influenced by the surrounding community, even when it comes to CSR. For example the society may look different in northern and southern Europe, where the countries have socio-cultural and financial differences. Stockholm and Rhodes are two popular destinations in Sweden and Greece, with different local circumstances. The purpose of this paper is to compare how well-established hotels in Rhodes and Stockholm promote CSR. Furthermore, the survey aims to create an understanding of how local circumstances affect the hotel's CSR initiatives. This study consists of six structured interviews, whereof three in each destination, and a text and image analysis of the hotel's websites and social media accounts. The results showed that the majority of the investigated hotels in Rhodes and Stockholm promote their CSR initiatives primarily through social media, in particular Instagram and Facebook. The content of their CSR promotion is mostly about environment-related initiatives. CSR is not a requirement in the hotel industry, only an advantage for the hotel and the surrounding environment. Local circumstances can affect the hotel's implementation and promotion of CSR. The economic aspect has the greatest impact on local residents and affect how hotels adjust their CSR-initatives, particularly in the greek hotels. Moreover, it was found that a CSR policy can’t be standardized internationally as hotels affect and are influenced by the surrounding community.

Bakgrunden till vår studie är att naturvetenskap och teknik fått större plats i förskolans läroplan samtidigt som studier visat på att det finns brister i arbetet med dessa ämnen på skolor och förskolor. Syftet med studien var att få syn på likheter och skillnader i hur fyra förskollärare, från en ämnesinriktad och en traditionell förskola, ser på naturvetenskap och teknik samt arbetssätt och ämneskunskapens betydelse. Vi har gjort en kvalitativ studie och som metod valde vi att göra enskilda intervjuer som spelades in med ljudupptagning. De teoretiska utgångspunkter som använts i analysen har fokus på det sociokulturella perspektivet. Resultatet visar att de likheter som finns är att förskollärarna anser att grunden för barns lärande är ett utforskande och undersökande arbetsätt i samspel med barn och vuxna. Det som skiljer sig är i hur man ser på och vad naturvetenskap och teknik innebär samt vad ämneskunskapen har för betydelse. Slutsatsen är att det inte spelar någon större roll vilken förskola man arbetar på utan det är intresset hos förskolläraren som styr arbetet med naturvetenskap och teknik.

Bakgrund och problemformulering: Investmentbolag är ett bolag vars affärsidé är att äga andra bolag. De har en betydande roll i samhället genom att bidra med kapital och att hjälpa driva etablerade företag framåt. I tidigare forskningssammanhang har andra liknande typer av bolag varit i fokus vilket orsakar ett gap i forskningen kring investmentbolag och riskhantering. Det här blir särskilt intressant att studera då investmentbolag har blivit en allt mer vanlig investering samtidigt som de beskrivs ha liknande riskspridning som en aktiefond. För att få en bredare förståelse om hur det skiljer sig mellan olika bolag och länder jämförs svenska investmentbolag med brittiska samt amerikanska investmentbolag.   Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att analysera om investmentbolagens portföljer är effektiva.   Metod: Utgångspunkten i studien är den moderna portföljvalsteorin som utgår ifrån Markowitz tankar och menar att en effektiv portfölj inte enbart består av en lång rad med aktier. Det är i stället korrelationen mellan tillgångarna som är viktiga att ha i åtanke och den optimala portföljen är den mest effektiva samt har den högsta sharpekvoten. För att besvara studiens syfte jämförs den optimala portföljen men den faktiska portföljen och de bolag som har det minsta avståndet anses vara effektivast i sin riskhantering och vice versa.    Resultat: Resultaten visar att det finns förbättringar att göra för de allra flesta investmentbolag och det är ytterst få som håller en portfölj som är lika effektiv som den optimala portföljen. Det finns även skillnader mellan hur de olika investmentbolagen hanterar risker i portföljen och vilka typer av bolag som de investerar i, vilket främst är de brittiska investmentbolagen som främst skiljer sig från mängden.
Background and problematization: An investment company is a firm which business idea is to own other companies. It has a significant role in the society by contributing with capital and help already established companies forward. Within a research context other kind of companies with similar business ideas has been in focus which causes a gap in the research area regarding investment companies and risk management. This is especially interesting to study because investment companies have become a more common investment, meanwhile investment companies are described to have a similar risk diversification as an equity fund. To get a broader understanding on how it differs between different companies and countries a comparison is made between Swedish, British and American investment companies.   Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze if investment companies manage an efficient portfolio.    Method: The main theory of this study is the modern portfolio theory which is based on Markowitz´s ideas of an efficient portfolio that does not only contain a long list of assets but instead consider the correlation between assets. According to this theory the optimal portfolio is the most efficient and has the highest sharperatio. To be able to achieve the purpose of this study the optimal portfolio will be compared to the investment companies’ actual portfolio. The companies with the smallest difference between these portfolios will be considered the most efficient regarding risk management and vice-versa.   Conclusion: The results show that there are room for improvements for most investment companies and there are extremely few that holds a portfolio that is as effective as the optimal portfolio. There are also differences between the companies regarding how they manage their portfolio risk and which types of companies they invest in. The British investment companies are those who stands out in this study.

This thesis examines the formative years of the Swedish tenants´ associations in Gothenburg and Stockholm and the strategies used by these organizations to alter the housing market, both on a local and on a national level. It is both a transfer analysis, examining how strategies from the labor market came to be applied to the rental market and a comparative study, comparing tenants´ associations in two Swedish cities. Hyresgästernas Centralförsamling (HCF) in Gothenburg had a more conflict-oriented approach toward both individual and collectively organized landlords. The organizational structure of HCF was similar to that of a trade union federation. This differed from Stockholms Hyresgästförening (SHG). Resembling more a political association than a militant union, SHG adopted strategies more focused on gaining legislative protection for tenants and increasing the supply of available housing. This was partly achieved through the co-operative housing society Hyresgästernas Sparkasse- och Byggnadsförening (HSB). This thesis argues that the common denominator for all these strategies was to reduce the internal competition between tenants and thus strengthening them as a collective force on the rental market. The main conclusion of the thesis is that the tenants´ associations cannot be easily categorized by standard organizational models. Shaped by local, organizational and ideological factors the tenants´ associations were hybrid organizations resembling both trade unions, cooperative societies

The aim of this study is to compare two Swedish and two Maltese textbook series in mathematics in the Swedish grade 4 from a mathematical didactic perspective, focusing on how fractions is presented, such as for instance as a number, part of a whole, part of a number, division as a metaphor or a scale, and visualized. The study is based on a comparative approach in which the teaching materials analysed represents their respective countries and schools. Four questions are addressed in this study. These are: 1. What share of the problems in the analysed books covers fractions? 2. How is the subject of fractions presented in the analysed books from Sweden and Malta respectively, for instance as a number, part of a whole, part of a number, with division as metaphor or as a scale? And which is the most common? 3. How is the subject of fractions visualized and how many times does this occur in the analysed pages? 4. What similarities and differences is there regarding the presentation and visualization of the field of fractions between the textbooks analysed from Sweden and Malta? The chosen textbooks from Sweden are Koll på matematik 4A and B and Matte Eldorado 4A and B. The ones from Malta are the textbook serie Abacus for Malta Number 6, Textbook 1 and 2 and the textbook series Busy Ant Maths 6A, B and C. The theoretical framework consists of Karlsson and Kilborn`s definition of the theory ‘konkretisering’, visualizing, and the different way fractions can be presented in. The results show that the analyzed books from Sweden mainly present fractions with division as a metaphor and the visualizing was mainly through everyday connection and through both the inductive and deductive method. The textbook from Malta mainly presents fractions as a number and the visualizing was in wording through the deductive method.

Uppsatsen består av en komparativ studie gjord genom kritisk närläsning av två separata läromedel, Svenska impulser 3 (2013) och Svenska 3 – Helt enkelt (2015). Jämförelsen utgår från hur läromedlen konkretiserar det centrala innehållet och kunskapskraven som berör litteraturundervisning i kursen Svenska 3, och om de samverkar med didaktisk forskning och om de har ett formativt förhållningssätt. Att konkretisera det centrala innehållets roll och kunskapskraven har, sedan den nya kursplanen Gy11 släpptes, varit ett fortsatt dilemma. Det förklaras genom undersökningar från Skolverket. Resultatet visar att Svenska 3:s litteratursegment har konkretiserats på olika vis, trots att de utgått från samma centrala innehåll och kunskapskrav. Förutom konkretiseringen synliggörs också att de aktuella läromedlen förhåller sig till utvalda delar av Skolverkets didaktiska forskning och att läromedlen har ett formativt förhållningssätt. Likheterna och skillnaderna är också många i analysexemplen, något uppsatsen belyser.
The essay consists of a comparative study brought on by a critical close reading of two separate teaching aids, Svenska impulser 3 (2013) and Svenska 3 – Helt enkelt (2015). The comparison emanates from how the two teaching aids define the core content and knowledge requirements about literary studies in the upper secondary school course Swedish 3, and how they conspires with research in didactics and whether they have a formative approach or not. To define the core content’s role and to define the knowledge requirements has, since the new curriculum and syllabus Gy11 was released, been problematic. That is explained through enquiries made by Skolverket. The result shows that Svenska 3’s part about literary studies have been defined differently in the teaching aids, even though they transpire from the same core content and knowledge requirements. The teaching aids also relate to chosen parts of Skolverket’s research in didactics and they have a formative approach according to the analysis. The similarities and differences are plenty in the two examples, which the essay highlights.

This study compares Etienne Leroux’s Die eerste siklus and Jaco Fouché’s Die avonture van Pieter Francken. In Chapter 1, similarities between their works, as discussed by critics in reviews and articles, are examined. The different theories that exist about the field of comparative literature are also discussed, and a theory is formulated which can be applied to this study. Aspects of the novels that are going to be discussed are also set out. Chapter 2 deals with the socio-political as well as the literary-historical contexts in which Leroux and Fouché published their work. In the case of the socio-political context, a distinction is made between the time and place in which the works were published, and the context in which the narration of the novels are set. Chapter 3 deals with the figure of the outsider. The outsider figures in the novels are identified and compared to each other. Chapter 4 deals with the way in which the traditional knight tales function as an inter-text and how some of the characters are portrayed as the Jungian archetype of the “knight” or “hero”. In the conclusion the main points of the comparison are brought together.

Анотація:
My aim with this essay is to analyse how the theme of sexuality and love in two dystopian novels – We  (1924),  by Yevgeny Zamyatin and Kallocain  (1940), by Karin Boye – relate to “the modern project”, a term I use to identify a cluster of important ideas that profoundly impacted society in the first decades of the 20th century. My analysis is based on a theoretical point of view claiming that dystopian novels present a critical perspective on society, and that they deal with issues, problems and values specific to the period in which they were written. Using a comparative method, where “the modern project” works asan “Ansatzpunkt”, I explore a variety of texts studying the theme of love and sexualityin We  and Kallocain  from different perspectives. I further discuss how both novels criticize societies where some of the ideas from “the modern project” are realized in unexpected ways: the “bourgeois family” is gone and the state performs some of its duties, sexuality is reduced to biological needs and reproduction, and love relationships are seen as egotistical and irrational. Even though these societies are trying hard, they can’t stop their citizens from using love and sexuality as a means to connect to one another and build a resistance. My conclusion is that both Zamyatin and Boye most likely were inspired by the writings of Sigmund Freud, who at that time was highly influential. In this light their novels can beinterpreted as presenting the human libido (We) and insights gained through psychoanalysis (Kallocain) as defences against collectivistic totalitarian states.

Vzrůstající nedostatek pohybu dětí a mladistvých v průmyslových státech se v minulých desetiletích rozvinul ve zdravotně-politický problém. V souladu s touto problematikou zároveň klesá i úroveň motorických schopností a dovedností, což představuje citelné omezení dětského vývoje, fyzické i psychické komponenty. Důsledkem jsou rostoucí náklady na zdravotní péči, které posléze výrazně zatěžují zdravotnictví v jednotlivých zemích. Cílem vědeckých týmů Západočeské Univerzity v Plzni a Technické Univerzity Chemnitz je v rámci pilotní studie pod názvem „Přeshraniční srovnávací analýza motorických schopností dětí mladšího školního věku“ stanovit a porovnat aktuální zdravotní situaci školáků v České republice a Německu.
Der gestiegene Bewegungsmangel der Kinder und Jugendlichen in den Industriestaaten hat sich in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten zu einem gesundheitspolitischen Problem entwickelt. Das darüber hinaus sinkende Niveau motorischer Fähigkeiten und Fertigkeiten zieht Beeinträchtigungen der kindlichen Entwicklung auf physischer und psychischer Ebene mit entsprechenden Folgekosten für die Gesundheitssysteme der Länder nach sich. Die Wissenschaftler der Westböhmischen Universität Pilsen und der Technischen Universität Chemnitz haben sich aus diesem Grund zum Ziel gesetzt, in der Pilotstudie „Grenzüberschreitende Vergleichsanalyse der motorischen Fähigkeiten von Kindern des jüngeren Schulalters“ die gesundheitliche Situation von Schulanfängern in der Tschechischen Republik und in Deutschland zu untersuchen und gegenüber zu stellen.
The increased sedentary lifestyle of children and adolescents in industrialized countries has evolved into a public health problem over the past decades. In addition, the declining level of motor abilities and skills draws impairment of children development on physical and psychological level, with appropriate follow-up costs for the health systems of countries. Scientists at the University of West Bohemia Pilsen and the Chemnitz University of Technology have for this reason the goal to investigate and to contrast the health situation of children starting school in the Czech Republic and in Germany with the pilot study "Cross-border comparative analysis of the motor skills of children of younger school age".
