Researchers seeking to reduce crime, because of its negative effects on society, have identified some features of a person and situations that are closely related to a person committing future crimes. Specifically, criminals tend to think in certain ways that promote crime, called criminal thinking styles. If those thinking styles are changed, then people may be less likely to commit future crimes. However, the field does not know if these criminal thinking styles are the same for youth in the community. Therefore, this study examined a measure of criminal thinking in community youth. Results show that the measure seems to work appropriately in community youth. Although not all items are the best for these youth, overall, the measure works well in predicting behavior problems, as expected. The measure also shows that criminal thinking in youth generally stays the same over time. Finally, this study shows that some features of youth which predict behavior problems are related to behavior problems because of the presence of criminal thinking. This study shows that a measure of criminal thinking, originally created for use in a justice-involved adult population, can also be used with community youth. It may then be used to assess youth who are on the verge of getting into trouble for criminal thinking styles. Interventions could use this measure to see if the criminal thinking styles are being reduced. Finally, because criminal thinking explains the relationship between other personal factors and behavior problems, interventions can focus on just criminal thinking, and not all the other factors, as a way to reduce future behavior problems.

Kleinman, 1997). Adolescents who grow up in a context of violence learn distorted ways of thinking, acting, living and interacting. Aggressive tendencies and violent behaviour become internalised and adopted as acceptable ways to resolve conflict situations. Chronic, continuous exposure to violence results in physical, psychological and emotional disturbances, such as depression, anxiety, lowered self-confidence, sleep disturbances, decreased attention and concentration spans. This study addressed the form of violence known as community violence, i.e. violence that children experience within their communities (either as witnesses or as victims). This study investigated the effects of this negative environmental experience and investigated potential mediating and moderating variables that could influence the harmful effects of such experiences. The variables considered as mediating and/or moderating variables were social support and self-esteem. The theoretical framework adopted for this study was Bronfennbrenner&rsquo

In schools and various conflicts occur, in order to reduce them, the Department of Education of the State of Sao Paulo, through Resolution SE 19/2010, decided on the basis of Professor Mediator and Community School, which is part of School Protection Program, established by the Foundation for Development of Education. This study aims at investigating how Professor Mediator and Community School Board of Education-Region Assis-SP, is experiencing conflict situations in the school environment. The methodology used for the research was a qualitative approach with a case study. It was used for both semi structured interviews with four professors mediators belonging to the Board of Education and eight students from schools attended by these mediators. As tool for the analysis of the interviews we used the technique of the Collective Subject Speech. It was found that mediators receive support from the supervisory of the protection system of your school Teaching Board and not all receives the of school management. This will cause a feeling of devaluation and lack of motivation of their work. These educators believe that the schools are surrounded by many conflicts and that many of them have already come from the family relationship and complain of the lack of parental support. The most common types of conflicts that we found on a day-to-day are coping, sexuality touched on in the first grades of Basic Education and use of drugs in more advanced grades. To the students interviewed mentioned the conflict are the most common brawls. The results of the students testimonials evidence that the CEIP contributes to resolve conflicts in school because hears, orients, avoids aggressions and remakes friendships. Students report the importance of creating a culture of peace in schools and the CEIP and it helps a lot that the school improves his performance. The majority of students interviewees report that CEIP is more efficient to solve the problems in school, though other actors also agree that the school management also assist in this process. Finally, the professional has faced the most different situations in schools since students with pain, disregard for school rules, complaints by students against other students until situations in that need some advice. In this way, these professionals are constructing your identity for this new role. The research subsidizes the discussion about this function and contributes to the reflection of how the public policies are being implemented in practice.

There has been a steadily growing role of non-formal education within science teaching. Thus, the presence of professionals is crucial for promoting the interaction of science with the public. Consequently, the formation of these professionals is essential to enable them to act effectively in the development of activities at educational sites. Accordingly, this case study aims at examining the process of formation of mediators in the area of non-formal education in science, using the Theory of Community of Practice, coined by Jean Lave and Etienne Wenger. More specifically, the analysis of the mutual engagement element, as proposed by the authors as one of the key points in the participation of members in a community of practice, may contribute to the initial training of mediators. To undertake this study, it was necessary to first determine whether the chosen place of study, Estação Biologia (EB) of the University of São Paulo, could be considered a community of practice. For this, the identification of three basic elements were required: shared repertoire, mutual engagement and joint enterprise. The data that were collected from documentary analysis, semi-structured registered interviews, recorded visits and personal observations, showed that all the three basic elements were present in EB, and thus it can be considered a community of practice. In this community, the flexibility of functions, and the establishment of internal negotiations, promote increased mutual engagement that is directly involved in the transformation of a peripheral into a central mediator, and consequently, their training both to act as a mediator and how to do so professionally. Considering that by increasing engagement in the practice of community, this mediator appropriates knowledge that can be used inside and outside the EB.

Due to the increase of violence in the school environment related to several situations that involve verbal, physical and symbolic aggressions carried out by basic education students, the Secretariat of Public Education of the State of Sao Paulo (SEESP), in partnership with the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), has instituted the System of Public Protection in the State Educational System and the role of School and Community Mediator Teacher (PMEC), which aims to coordinate planning of actions destined to prevention, mediation and resolution of conflicts in the school environment. This investigative proposal has the goal of questioning the effectiveness of school mediation through analyses of the PMEC’s considered good practice in a public school that is connected to a Board of Education (DE) in the inner state of Sao Paulo. A case study was methodologically carried out and oriented by a qualitative research approach, in which techniques for data generation consist in analyses of normative resolutions, reports and evidences from the performed work, book of occurrences and semi-structured interviews. This thesis has shown many fragilities regarding the School Protection System, as these public policies interfere direct and indirectly in the effectiveness of the PMEC’s work in the Sao Paulo State schools. Through the obtained data, it was noticed that school mediation goes through a strong transition period, going from the Retributive Law, which has a more punitive nature, to the Restorative Law, based in restorative practices in conflict resolution. It was possible to perceive the effectiveness in the PMEC’s work through what is considered good practice; however, many things need to be reviewed so that a more pacific school environment can be implemented. This will only be possible with a collaborative work between the school agents, investments in formation, monitoring and assessment of projects. Finally, this research’s results aim to assist in subsidizing other PMECs’ work, broadening the debate on public policies and contributing with proposals that can come to improve the work performed by these professionals on behalf of constructing a peace culture inside and outside schools.

The role of teacher-mediator has been instituted in the state of São Paulo by the Resolution 19 of the State Education Department in 2010, which has established the School Protection System, which has as its goal to coordinate the planning and execution of measures that support conflict prevention, mediation, and resolution within the school environment. This work has aimed to study the strategies of intervention of the teacher-mediator of the school and community in order to support the school permanence of the teenagers who have committed an infringement, from the perspective of the youth in social vulnerability and of the school as an environment which its access and permanence, with quality, should be a right for all. In order to do so, there has been conducted a profiling of the teacher mediators enrolled to the Education Board of the Municipality of São Carlos SP, through the use of a questionnaire designed for this purpose. Then, with the intent of understanding the strategies and actions of these teachers for supporting the permanence of those teenagers in the school network, there have been conducted in-depth interviews with seven teachers who alleged having had previous working experiences with this kind of adolescent. It has been verified that the main action plan has been summed up to fighting school dropout, which is a specific intervention focus of the teacher-mediators registered in the Education Board of São Carlos. Also, it was learnt that there is little knowledge and articulation with the city s network for children and adolescent care. Such fact has prevented broadening the work of establishing partnerships beyond those focused in health services, mainly represented by the Psychosocial Care Center focused in alcohol and other drugs abuse (CAPS ad), the social protection services, the public safety and the Guardianship Council. In regard of the adolescents in focus, it has been verified that constructive dialogues are the main tool for intervention, along with the teachers effort to make awareness about keeping distance from infringement practices. The weakness of the intervention practices for these teenagers is evidence of the need of deepening the discussions and perspectives for facing this issue, regardless of teenagers who have committed an infringement or who are under socio educative probation being enrolled in the schools that these teachers work at. Therefore, it is necessary to construct a behavior for the teacher- mediators to act in the opposite direction of what has been established by the schools: the adolescent who has committed an infringement as a source of conflict, who must be avoided.

At the end of 2009, the State Department of Education in partnership with the Department of Public Safety, launched the Project Protection School and Community System (SPEC). To implement the project in state schools was created the function of Teacher School and Community Mediator (PMEC). In this work, we investigated the understanding of this new professional about their duties and how they unfold in school practices, with the hypothesis that before a non-specific training, for appropriate profile selection of difficulty and of course insufficient training, PMEC runs projects and activities not related to their function and that the actual duties that should play at schools not you are clear, then, each performs them according to their own reading and thus can not be given to introducing legislation or have a critical view of their role. To reach the end, there was a qualitative research descriptive, using the questionnaire as a collection tool and content analysis for data processing. The sample included randomly in the electronic questionnaire sent to the use PMECs activity at the time of the survey. Obtained return 485 PMECs, a universe of 3.210, constituting a representative sample of grade of more than 95% reliability. The answers reveal a lack of more specific training and understanding, about the concepts and processes intrinsic to its function, contrary to the authors consulted. They also reveal that, in the opinion of these professionals, they are responsible for performing any tasks given to them in order to promote the smooth running of the school, easing the weight of the tasks of the managers of school units; however, to encompass such assignments, PMECs end up getting lost in their function. The fact is that once again we see the launch of a project designed for those who do not know the daily life of schools and professionals who work in them and thus this professional is carrying out the possible actions in trying to make the project work.

The present study approaches the implementation of the paradigm of restorative justice in the extent of the schools public inhabitants from São Paulo of the Management of Teaching of the area of São José dos Campos and he/she has as reference the Teacher's School and Community Mediator perspective. The objective consists of to investigate and to contemplate concerning the character of public politics of that movement, the way as PMEC understands that process starting from the own professional performance and in the way as it evaluates the receptivity of the school community to a model of confrontation of conflicts based on the dialogue and in the co-responsability in opposition to methods and punitive beginnings, traditionally employees in the school units. The research based on qualitative methodology by interviews half structured in categories a priori, by which the great level of personal adhesion was verified and of involvement of PMEC with the implementation of the paradigm of restorative justice and the distrust and the uncertainties with respect to the continuity of that public politics on the part of the state government and of the school community's support as a whole. At the end, it was reached the conclusion that, in fact, it governs the discontinuity movement and whithout characterization of that public politics. In compensation, that new model wins adhesion and solidity in the school context because of the performance and of PMEC and of her coherence with the autonomy beginnings and inherent citizenship.

On research that link rising levels of violence, indiscipline and conflicts in the school environment, the State Government of São Paulo created the program entitled "School System Protection" in order to combat indiscipline and violence within schools and guarantee the physical integrity and property of students, staff and servants of the state public network. In the set of measures designed under the said program, the Department of São Paulo State Education - SEE / SP created a new role for the teacher of basic education, namely, Professor of School Mediator and Community, hereinafter called the PMEC. With this research, we became interested in investigating the appearance of the context of this "new professional" under the state public network, since the conception of this new role, presented by the São Paulo State Education (SEE / SP) and matters relating to the selection process and performance in school units. For this purpose, document analysis was carried out (legal, regulatory texts, work plans of the PMEC and occurrences of books at schools), work observation conducted by PMEC in a state school for a semester and semi-structured interviews with PMEC the selected school and PMEC working in schools located in regions with similar levels of vulnerability to the selected school. At the end of the investigation we proved our hypothesis that this new function is another way of reconfiguration of the teaching profession, among the existing ones, which profoundly changes the teacher's role in schools and mischaracterizes the profession. To support our analysis we turn to authors who discuss issues such as control, intolerance, indiscipline and conflicts (ABRAMOVAY, 2005; CHARLOT, 2002; 2005; DUBET, 2004; FOUCAULT, 1996, 1997; JARES, 1997), work and teaching profession (TARDIF, 2002; TARDIF, LESSARD e LAHAYE, 1991; TENTI FANFANI, 2000), as well as researchers who have dedicated themselves to the themes presented by the "School System Protection" program from different theoretical perspectives.

The aim of this thesis is to understand terroir as a tangible communication territory, starting with the lack of conceptual translation in foreign language. Terroir comes to rest in a social space characterized by fleeing models, above and beyond Law, History and Agronomy. Food and eating become the space of contradictory signs for the “social eater” attuned to hedonism and control. The object seduces him to satisfy his desires for authenticity and taste. Discourses and scenes show terroir in an imaginary world, made up of food patrimony and symbolic identity. But it arouses tensions because economic actors take it hold of it. A review of the history and rules about terroir’s provokes its confrontation with everyday reality and reveals its polysemy. Certain differences of meaning exist between criteria established by norms and the eater’s practices toward “nostalgic food”. The study of terroir as a social construct proceed through paradigmatic displacement, from beliefs and labels, to terroir’s mediations in devices. They create meaning around know -how and certain values. The aims, here is to demonstrate that multiple significations coexist and to study how the mediations of terroir’s logic of the senses in figurative spaces are created. We then tested it in two spaces similar to symbolical public spaces: consumers‘s association and internet forum

Mediation, as defined in this study, is a dispute resolution process for dealing with disagreements between community members and differs from other forms of conflict resolution such as arbitration, conciliation and adjudication. Mediation is a relatively new field of professional endeavour, consequently, community mediators are few and no current accredited course exists in the vocational education and training sector.
This study aimed to develop a curriculum for training community mediators which individuals of various professions could undertake through the vocational education and training sector in order to become accredited mediators.
An initial review of the literature identified existing mediator competencies. Following this review, the first phase of the study was to survey practising community mediators to obtain their views on which additional competencies mediators should possess.
In the second phase of the study, various curriculum models were reviewed and one model selected which fitted the contextual constraints of the vocational education and training sector. The Competency Based Training model for curriculum development was selected to develop a curriculum which incorporated the list of competencies elucidated in the first phase of the study.
A curriculum suitable for teaching community mediation skills to trainee mediators through a course offered through the vocational education and training sector is presented in the fifth chapter.
This study is significant in that it attempts to objectify what it is that mediators do by way of establishing a collection of mediator competencies pertinent to community mediation. The challenge was to undertake this task in an environment in which mediation as a skill, was considered malleable; a skill which requires fine adjustment to fit the various contexts in which mediation is practised.
Finally, this study also highlighted the need for further research into mediation. Issues such as 'hard' versus 'sot mediation and the development of specific competencies related to the practice of mediation within specific contexts, for example, divorce mediation and land right mediation, are discussed.

The importance of brand issues has been developed for years in Taiwan and discussed widely in the academia. The brand issues are important because its additional values bring lots of profits to the business. One of the additional values is to hold the customers, their loyalties and raise the brand interest. Due to those positive benefits, enterprises try their best to do the research on this field. Recently, the concept of the community is developing and becoming a new communication style, whether it’s the online community (i.e. MSN or Yahoo messenger) or the physical community. Moreover, the consumers establish the brand community according to their preferences of the products. Through this connection, members of the communities can exchange information and bound with each other in turns of making the brand identification. This research is based on the study made by McAlexander, Schouten & Koenig (2002); it proposes the concept of the community integration and analyzes the integration with the relationship of quality, the relationship of value and brand equity. The interview samples are the car owners who join the club and who do not. The purpose of the survey is to analysis if there are obvious differences between the club members and nonmembers in the respect of brand benefits. In addition, on the club members division, the study wants to analyze if there are any interference between the integration of the brand communities and brand benefits by using the relationship of quality and the relationship of value as mediators. Furthermore, this research intends to analyze if the relationship quality has an effect on the relationship value between the members and nonmembers. The research uses the independent sample tests to analyze if the integration of the brand communities plays an important role on car brand benefits. The research also uses linear regression to analyze the relationships between the brand community components (product, brand, enterprise and other owners,) the relationship quality and the relationship value; and exam the result to see if the relationship quality and the relationship value are mediators. The conclusion is that the club members obviously have more effect on brand equity than the nonmembers. The integration of brand community components:product, brand, company and other owners have positive effect on the relationship quality and the relationship value and mostly on the relationship quality. Besides, relationship quality can influence relationship value. This is the evidence that there are connections among the integration brand community, the relationship quality and the relationship value.

The focus of this study was to develop an individualized community-based caregiver training program and test its effect for decreasing the behavioral problems of the elders with dementia and improve the caregivers’ competence, preparedness, and quality of life. At the same time this study explored the mediators and moderators for the outcome variables of the proposed program. A single-blind randomized controlled trial using a longitudinal prospective research design was used. After random assignment, the experimental group received an individualized community-based caregiver training program as well as telephone consultations, while the control group received only written educational materials and social telephone follow-ups. Patients with dementia and their caregivers (N = 129) were divided into the experimental group (N= 63) and the control group (N = 66 ). Data were collected at 1, 3, and 6 months after the pretest, and hierarchical linear models and hierarchical generalized linear models were applied for outcome variables. Family caregivers who received an individualized community -based training program had better outcomes in competence (β=9.82, p <.001), preparedness(β=3.34, p < .01), bodily pain (β=11.81, p < .01), general health perception (β=8.98, p < .05), role disability due to emotional problems (β=12.26, p < .05), social function (β=10.07, p < .01), vitality (β=11.66, p < .001), mental component summary (β=4.91, p < .01), and they also had a reduced risk for physical aggressive behavior by the dementia patient (OR =0.64,β= -0.45, p < .05), but on the other hand faced an increased risk of verbally aggressive behavior by the dementia patient (OR =1.62,β= 0.48, p < .05) than those in the control group during the 6 months following the training program. The direct effective results of this program included a reduction in bodily pain and an increased mental component summary during the follow-up period. Competence was the only mediator variable between intervention and social function, while preparedness was a partial mediator between intervention and general health perception and vitality. Disease severity was the moderator variable between intervention and verbally non-aggressive behaviors and verbally aggressive behaviors. At the same time, dementia patients in the early stage in the experimental group were less likely to present verbally non-aggressive and verbally aggressive behavior while the patients in the severe stage of dementia were more likely to present verbally non-aggressive behavior and in the moderate stage of dementia were more likely to present verbally aggressive behavior than those in the control group. Our proposed an individualized community-based caregiver training program was helpful to improve the caregiver’s competence, preparedness, health-related quality of life, bodily pain, general health perception, role limitations due to emotional problems, social functioning, vitality, mental component summary, and decreased risk from physical aggressive behavior of their relatives. The direct effect of this program included reduction in bodily pain and an improved mental component summary. The indirect effect included improved social functioning once the caregiver’s competence was improved, as well as an improved general health perception and vitality after the caregiver’s preparedness was improved. Disease severity was a moderator between intervention and verbally non-aggressive behavior and verbally aggressive behavior of dementia patients.

Community campaign of Lo-Sheng reservation movement has been held by student activists. The purpose of community campaign is to build a bridge for understanding between the local and the PAHD(patients affected Hansen’s Disease) of Lo-Sheng sanatorium, which were manipulated into two opposite groups by politicians and mainstream media during reservation movement. It has provided kinds of community activities for adults and courses for children, and achieved success to attract many families, Mothers from local community in particular, and reconnected these participants. This essay proposes an emotion-centered perspective to analyze social identity, role, and emotion in micro-level interactions. At conscious level, participants’ social identities as Students, Mothers, and PAHD have been expected as with certain figures or impressions with morality, which is helpful to build intimate relations at emotional level. However, the practical roles and motivations in various situations of reservation movement have shown another salient approaches to form up relations between participants. Considerable tensions existed between expectation and practice worked upon the display of emotion. Most important, emotion played not only a kind of expression, it also dominated how participants feel and/or realize reservation movement, and the meaning of the publicness.

In recently years, the speedy expansion of community websites results in a large number of users in virtual communities (VCs). Based on this, many corporations conduct their own VCs to contact customer exactly and efficiently. This study focus on customer citizenship behavior in corporate VCs combining with relationship marketing, social identify theory and spillover effect. Through the literatures review, financial bond, social bond and structural bond which are community relational bonds and customer-company identification are the antecedent factors, and affect customer citizenship behavior indirectly through community relationship quality and community identification. In this study, two different types of corporate VCs, search attribute goods (7-ELEVEN) and experience attribute goods (Starbucks) were compared. 318 and 316 effective samples of customers form 7-ELEVEN and Starbucks virtual community, respectively, were obtained from convenience sampling. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was applied to test the research hypotheses. The following are the findings: 1.Financial bond and social bond both positively affect community relationship quality in two virtual communities, but the effect of structural bond to community relationship quality is only significant in Starbucks virtual community. 2.Among four antecedent factors, which have the biggest effect to relationship quality are financial bond in 7-ELEVEN virtual community, and customer-company identification in Starbucks virtual community. 3.Customer-company identification positively affects community relationship quality and community identification. Moreover, the effect of community relationship quality to community identification is stronger than customer-company identification to community identification. 4.In Starbucks virtual community, community relationship quality can direct or indirect affect customer citizenship behavior through community identification. But relationship quality only can affect customer citizenship behavior indirectly through community identification in 7-ELEVEN virtual community. That is, community identification is the important mediator between relationship quality and customer citizenship behavior

Due to the fast- changing environment and economic influences and ever-evolving consumer spending habits, traditional marketing methods and retail promotional schemes do not satisfy consumer demands. Also, with mass factory production that results in product surplus, customer-oriented business governance must be implemented to capture customer’s emotional want and provide experiential excellence. Most importantly, creating an exclusive brand community participation that leads to brand community identity and brand loyalty are keys. This research discussion, based on Taiwan’s Apple authorized dealer, is on brand community participation as the mediating variable, in which experiential marketing will have positive effects on brand community identity and brand loyalty. With the application of experiential marketing in Apple stores, we put this method to the test and find out whether experiential marketing proves effective in this industry. This research is based on Schmitt’s strategic Experiential Models, SEMS in 1999, and Taipei’s Apple authorized dealers were the primary subjects. Questionnaires were presented and gathered as research analysis.

Nowadays, living in this era of internet development, information can be exchanged and caught through different ways, the convenient feature of network without time and geographical restrictions attracting the public to gather information through the Internet. Along with the spread of community marketing, the members of community discuss and share the related information about the brand which they all like. Besides, the difference between products is getting smaller, products cannot win in the market if only relying on the product superiority. The brand has become a key to the survival and continuous growth of the company. Therefore, in the era of consumer-oriented product market, in order to increase consumer’s willingness to purchase the product, the brand will tend to enhance the participation of costumer in fan page. As long as the development of “the experience economy” and the change of consumption patterns, the meaning of consumption has evolved from satisfying basic needs to the experience of consumers pursuing self-identification and life values. They establish their identity with the brand community to provide a good experience process in order to satisfy the consumers' mental needs, thereby increasing purchase behavior. From this point of view, the establishment of a brand community has become an integral part of the pursuit of market competitiveness and influence. In order to understand the impact of brand community engagement and experienced marketing on purchase intention, this study focuses on brand community identification as an intermediary variable factor. Furthermore, this research also takes "product involvement" as a moderator into consideration and expects to further understand the purchasing behavior of consumer. In this study, the brands of pet products, which were less emphasized in the past brand community studies, were selected as the empirical targets. Since the proportion of singles and unmarried people has increased year by year in recent years, the situation of domestic declining birth rate is serious, more and more people are not willing to have children and tend to keep a pet as substitute. As pets change their roles in human’s live, pets' economy becomes a new market opportunity. In this study, questionnaire was used to collect data, and finally 357 valid sample are adopted. Using PLS for data analysis, After statistical analysis and prove, we can find some conclusion: 1.There is a positive relationship between brand community engagement and community identification. 2.There is a positive relationship between brand community identification and purchase intention. 3.There is a positive relationship between experienced marketing, community identification and purchasing intention. 4.Product involvement has moderator effect of experienced marketing and purchase intention.
Sebastian, Horst.
This thesis takes as a starting point the societal change in Germany with its concomitant economic risks for substantial parts of the population. Evangelical churches in Germany have yet to react to this change. While the relationship between social work and mission has been a point of widespread discussion within the evangelical movement internationally, it fails to have any impact on local churches. The question is thus: how can a mission-oriented church benefit from Christian social reform movements? Transformative as well as holistic understandings of mission have already yielded an enlarged vision of mission as encompassing social justice. But how about a missiological paradigm which is practically translatable into cultural and social relevance as far as the local church’s vision for becoming an agent of societal change/reform is concerned? When interpreted missiologically, mediation can be such a useful paradigm, as its essence is conflict as a constant anthropological signifier of human/divine distance on the one side and God’s purpose of redemption as reflected in the church’s mission on the other. Thus mediation could be called a category of the missio dei. This practical implementation into the church’s work as being relevant for its community is reached by reverting to the sciences of social work, namely the concept of community development. As mediative community work, this approach will add to the profile of a mission-oriented church as determined to serve a holistic vision of the gospel. At the focus is thus the immediate social environment of a local church, in which it can trigger spiritual, personal, social, cultural and economic processes of transformation. In the social context of Germany this way of expressing the missiological drive of a local church seems to be a hopeful avenue, since the social and economic risks are likely to remain and are threatening a large percentage of the population with social marginalisation. It is here that the economy of community work will be furnishing useful aspects to help a mission-oriented church develop its mediative-communal thrust into its immediate social context in order to proclaim God’s redemptive purpose.

In recent years, it is fast growth of the virtual communities. The information has become more powerful and far-reaching. As members of the virtual community are closer. They are participation and centripetal forces has increased dramatically in activities. Companies using virtual community site features to build bridges of contact and maintain the relationship with the consumer. In Taiwan, people commonly used virtual community sites, so Facebook has become the preferred. Therefore, there are a lots of companies established in the Facebook. For a brand-oriented company, sponsoring a brand community is undoubtedly the most effective marketing method. What prove to be even more effective, however, are the voluntary brand communities that require no company resources. In these voluntary brand communities, members advertise products through word-of-mouth and spread the history and culture of the brand through actively sharing knowledge. All these, in fact, contribute to customer satisfaction and customer loyalty of a brand, which in terms accelerates sales and builds company reputation (McAlexande, Schouten, Koening, 2002). Brand communities, especially the voluntary kind, have always been popular outside of Taiwan, and the famous ones include the communities for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Apple computers, and Volkswagen automobiles, of which the community for Harley-Davidson motorcycles is typical in that the community members is one of the key reason to its survival. Ms. Chou Wen-ching, a research specialist from the Market Intelligence Center (MIC) of the Institute for Information Industry (III), states that online shopping in Taiwan is heading to an “Era of Collective Intelligence Shopping,” in which interaction through the Web is the trend, and comments and recommendations from fellow online shoppers serve as the key to a purchase decision. In other words, the collective experience of a community guides the purchase decision. Based on the Brand Community Relationship theory by Muniz and O’Guinn (2001) and McAlexander, Schouten, and Koening (2002), this paper, as a result, explores how Brand Community Relationship influences purchase intention and brand loyalty, drawing examples from an online voluntary brand community for Shisedo, and then integrates the findings with theory of identity of community and of perceived risk.

Indigenous medicine has existed in society for centuries. It is one of the few age old practices that has remained an innate part of our sociocultural environment. African indigenous healing is an important component of African culture and is significant in ensuring both well-being and health of the people. The World Health Organization statistics shows that at least 70% -80% of the population have used indigenous medicine in South Africa. Indigenous medicine often carries stigmas and negative perceptions. Countless misconceptions and misunderstandings are experienced by indigenous medicine and indigenous medicinal practitioners that have contributed to their isolation. The intention of this thesis is to explore the coexistence of different medical and health systems through a place of dialogue and education. The study focuses on creating an interface between conventional and local indigenous health systems. Through spaces of collaboration, well-being and knowledge, a connection can be established between the two systems which could essentially promote an interaction and understanding. Through an exploration of the primary theme of “the self and the other” and a secondary theme of holistic well-being. An intricate theoretical framework can be established within the thesis that contributes to both the design development and practicality of the proposal. By further studying literature that pertains to the themes and by interviewing people within both fields will allow for the profound understanding of both forms of medicine. The role of architecture as a social instigator for the de-stigmatization of indigenous medicine and holistic well-being will also be explored, with reference to perception as an awareness tool. The architectural response to the thesis is a collaborative facility at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital that will look at cooperation, education and research with indigenous practitioners, doctors and the public. The will create an opportunity to link the two medicinal systems together and encourage interaction and understanding between the two. It will further place importance on indigenous systems and knowledge that could potentially be used to treat patients universally. Indigenous medicine practitioners will also be housed within the facility to offer an alternative to the conventional system. Thus ideally creating a place where there is dialogue, transformation and appreciation for indigenous knowledge systems.

In order to developing of information technology, the computer and Internet has changed the way people live and promote the industrial upgrading, and relying on the network to provide real-time information is one of the common operating strategy. Knowledge exchange activities through the Internet will no longer be limited by the organizational and geographical stints, and people will be able to use the knowledge sharing platform to seek other aspects of daily life, study or professional problem solving. Members used the interaction mechanism of the platform to obtain the sharing knowledge, or the experience of same problem (Wang, 2008), and then feedback to the other members. Domestic enterprises usually faced the pressure of globalization and competitions, and they should actively explore how to promote knowledge management in order to create competitive advantage. However, the biggest problem encountered by the corporate members of the organization is not easily share the knowledge owned by individuals (Wu , 2000). Ruggles (1998) also thought that activities of knowledge management to knowledge sharing were the most difficult and should pay close attention. Therefore, if community members willing to knowledge sharing, and provide a good platform for the exchange of knowledge, will help to improve knowledge sharing, feedback behavior. In summary, this study is mainly to the social exchange theory, altruism and community identification of knowledge feedback for the research topic, and share knowledge as a mediating variable. In this study, we used the PTT which is the largest electronic bulletin board (BBS station) to be the research objects. We expected to offer 300 questionnaires, but a total of 257 questionnaires were collected, and we used SPSS to verify the underlying assumptions of this study. The result shows that: (1) social exchange theory, altruism and community identification has a positive impact on knowledge sharing; (2) knowledge sharing has a positive impact on the knowledge feedback; (3) social exchange theory, altruism and community identity has a positive impact on the knowledge feedback; (4) social exchange theory, altruism and community identification could be generated intermediary effect knowledge feedback by knowledge sharing.
