The principles of building radio communication facilities and rules for conducting radio exchange are considered. The technical characteristics of radio stations used in the EMERCOM and SBS of Russia are given. The basics of radio-relay, satellite, cellular and trunking communications are described. Meets the requirements of the Federal state educational standard of higher education of the latest generation in the discipline "Automated control systems and communications". It is intended for students of secondary professional educational institutions studying in the specialties 20.02.02 "protection in emergency situations" and 20.02.04 "Fire safety".

The significance of the media and communications revolution occasioned by printmaking was profound. Less a part of the standard narrative of printmaking’s significance is recognition of the frequency with which the widespread dissemination of printed works also occurred beyond the borders of Europe and consideration of the impact of this broader movement of printed objects. Within a decade of the invention of the printing press, European prints began to move globally. Over the course of the fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries, numerous prints produced in Europe traveled to areas as varied as Turkey, India, Persia, Ethiopia, China, Japan and the Americas, where they were taken by missionaries, artists, travelers, merchants and diplomats. This collection of essays explores the transmission of knowledge, both written and visual, between Europe and the rest of the world by means of prints in the early modern period.

This chapter explains how the admission to listing of private investment funds on a recognized exchange can provide a means to address the governance challenge. It first considers the regulatory functions of securities exchanges before turning to the Irish Stock Exchange (ISE), taking into account three areas relevant to the governance challenge faced by private investment funds: general obligations of disclosure, notification of interests and key developments, and communications with unitholders. It then examines how an ISE listing can provide a potential market-oriented solution to the governance challenge. It also discusses listing-related developments at the London Stock Exchange, Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive depositories, and limitations on the effectiveness of exchange listings.

Physician–patient communication is, after all, human-to-human communication; establishing a bond and listening are just two of the essential elements in building trust and understanding—the foundations of communication. But today there is much we need to learn when it comes to facilitating the exchange of information, providing psychosocial support, ensuring shared decision-making, translating complex information, resolving controversies with sound science, and the myriad of goals we have as physician communicators with patients, peers, and the public. While most of our communication is with patients, we increasingly find ourselves communicating with family members, caregivers, students, residents, colleagues, patient advocates, researchers, insurance agencies, bosses, board members, the public, and even at times journalists. Knowledge dialogues, also called intercultural dialogues, are processes of communication and exchange between people, groups or communities that come from different origins or cultures. Its objective is, among others, to improve access to health services and build intercultural health, with an emphasis on solving previously raised problems and their causes, mutual understanding and the creation of solid links. These are people designated to catalyze the processes related to said dialogues, which constitute a necessity in the process of communication with diverse population groups that present problems of universal access to health and universal health coverage.
