The atmospheric noise generated by lightning phenomena is the main source of interference in VLF communications, it is rather difficult to detect the communication signal that not only merged in strong channel noise, but probably interfered by high-tension impulse caused by thunder. This paper, Alpha stable distribution noise model is proposed to simulate atmospheric noise firstly, then, we study a new technique of Chirp Spread Spectrum (CSS) communication based on Fractional Fourier Transform (FRFT), This paper studies a new VLF communication technique of the Chirp Spread Spectrum (CSS) communication based on Fractional Fourier Transform (FRFT), and it demodulates message utilizing energy gathering property of chirp signal in FRFT domain.

Анотація:
Single-carrier FDMA (SC-FDMA) is becoming more and more popular in multiuser communication because of its lower PAPR value. Apart from this, many other hybrid access techniques have also been explored in the literature for application to 4G wireless mobile communication. Still there is a need to explore newer techniques which could further reduce the PAPR value without any degradation in system BER. Keeping this in view, a modified hybrid technique SC-FDMA-DSCDMA has been proposed in this paper and it is found to provide significantly lower PAPR than SC-FDMA system with no degradation in BER performance. This paper extensively compares the BER and PAPR performance of various other multicarrier techniques for 4G wireless communications such as OFDMA, MC-DS-CDMA, and SC-FDMA with proposed SC-FDMA-DSCDMA scheme. Simulation results show that SC-FDMA-DSCDMA technique performs better than any other OFDM-CDMA based system for wireless communication.

Introduction: Approximately 15 years ago cell phones replaced portable VHF radios as the means of communication between paramedics and base hospital physicians. Cellphones, like VHF radio, do not allow voice transmission and reception to occur simultaneously. Radio use requires a learned technique to signal the end of each speaker’s turn talking. These techniques are not used in normal cellphone conversation. Poor cellphone reception and poor technique result in breakdowns in communication. The literature about paramedic-physician telecommunication is almost nonexistent. There is an extensive literature in other industries, such as aviation, concerning problems in radio communication. This literature predicts that communication breakdowns are common and have critical consequences. We sought to determine how frequently problems attributable to cell phone technology arose in paramedic-physician communication. Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of all patch calls between physicians and paramedics from 4 municipal paramedic services from January 01-December 31, 2014. MP3 audio files, recorded during normal operating procedures by the Central Ambulance Communication Centre, were anonymized and transcribed. Transcripts were read multiple times by the authors and analyzed using mixed methods-qualitative thematic framework analysis and quantitative descriptive statistics. Results: 161 calls were identified. 155 tapes were usable for analysis. 127 (81.9%) patches involved termination of resuscitation orders, 28 (19.1%) were for advice or other orders. The data set consisted of 567 pages of transcripts. Communication problems were identified in 138 (89.0%) patches. Most had multiple problems. Technical problems included disconnections (13.5%), or difficulty hearing (56.8%)-indicated by phrases such as “what?”, “I can’t hear you”. Disorganized cell phone technique was common-individuals interrupted each other (34.2%), and talked simultaneously (54.8%). Signalling the end of “talk turns”-using terms such as “10-4” or “over”-was never used. Conclusion: In addition to technical problems (poor transmission, disconnections), disorganized cell phone ‘technique’ caused a high incidence of communication problems. This is concerning because critical clinical decisions (e.g. ceasing resuscitation) depend on clear communication. Understanding the limitations of cellphone technology might improve communication.

Security is a prerequisite of each device that provides physical access to anyone and is logically expose to communication network attacks. The Internet of Things (IoT) must assure energy-saving provision due to the unique characteristics of IoT devices that comprise cost-effective, low power, and data delivery capacity. A Key-based Authentication scheme is a need without creating a bottleneck of communication for security in IoT integration. Security solutions viz., Authentication, Access control, and Key management are essential for the protection of communication in IoT applications. Public Key Cryptography (PKC) encapsulates multiple security functionalities and applications in conventional networks. The proposed Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) Blended Authentication and Session Key Establishment Technique (EBASKET), an enhanced HPAKE scheme secures the IoT device interactions using Hash and Public Key Cryptography conjoined with a Stochastic Number. EBASKET authenticates and establishes Session Key for communicating IoT Devices using ECC that enhances the security resisting Key Disclosure, Man-in-The-Middle (MiTM), Relay threats. It incorporates an Elliptic Curve of 256 bits to achieve the 128 bits security level. EBASKET accomplishes Key Establishment utilizes Nonce as the Fragmentary Key after authenticating the intercommunicating Devices. It decreases the overall delay incurred reducing the communication overhead minimizing the quantity and magnitude of the messages exchange for Authentication. A secure Key Establishment for the Session uses a Stochastic, Hashing function, and ECC. The interactions throughout the Predeploying, Authenticating, and Key Establishing process cause a delay. The performance graph depicts that Key Establishment and authenticating the IoT devices using ECC and reducing communicational cost enhance security than Enhanced, Hybrid, and Lightweight Authentication Schemes.

The purpose of this study was to determine interpersonal communication in broken home families and the development of broken home children after the divorce of parents that occurred in Kuningan District, Kuningan District. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data collection techniques are used through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The data analysis technique used in this study was a qualitative descriptive analysis technique. While the data validity test is checked using source triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that interpersonal communication in broken home harmonious families runs well for their children by giving each other attention and communication smoothly making moral development and personality development of children to be controlled and fine for children's lives while broken home families are not harmonious interpersonal communication is not going well so that the child's development in both morals and personality changes considerably unlike other normal children who are triggered due to lack of communication and attention from parents. Suggestion from this research is that in any condition and no matter how busy parents must keep aside their time for their children both by communicating and interacting directly.

Nowadays, in the aeronautical environments, the use of mobile communication and other wireless technologies is restricted. More specifically, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) prohibit the use of cellular phones and other wireless devices on airborne aircraft because of potential interference with wireless networks on the ground, and with the aircraft's navigation and communication systems. Within this context, we propose in this paper a movement recognition algorithm that will switch off a module including a GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) device or any other mobile cellular technology as soon as it senses movement and thereby will prevent any forbidden transmissions that could occur in a moving airplane. The algorithm is based solely on measurements of a low-cost accelerometer and is easy to implement with a high degree of reliability.

Visible light communication (VLC) has contributed new unused spectrum in addition to the traditional radio frequency communication and can play a significant role in wireless communication. The adaptation of VLC technology enhances wireless connectivity both in indoor and outdoor environments. Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication has been an efficient technique for increasing wireless communications system capacity and performance. With the advantages of MIMO techniques, VLC can achieve an additional degree of freedom. In this paper, we systematically perform a survey of the existing work based on MIMO VLC. We categorize the types of different MIMO techniques, and a brief description is given. Different problem-solving approaches are given in the subsequent sections. In addition, machine learning approaches are also discussed in sufficient detail. Finally, we identify the future study direction for MIMO-based communication in VLC.

Big data phenomenon refers to the practice of collection and processing of very large data sets and associated systems and algorithms used to analyze these massive data sets. Big data service is very attractive in the field of wireless communication environment, especially when we face the spatial applications, which are typical applications of big data. Because of the complexity to ingest, store and analyze geographical information data, this paper reflects on a few of the technical problems presented by the exploration of big data, and puts forward an effective storage method in wireless communication environment, which is based on the measurement of moving regularity through proposing three key techniques: partition technique, index technique and prefetch technique. Experimental results show that the performance of big data storage method using these new techniques is better than the other storage methods on managing a great capacity of big data in wireless communication environment.

Most smart meters are connected and powered by the electric mains, requiring the service interruption and qualified personnel for their installation. Wireless technologies and energy harvesting techniques have been proved as alternatives for communications and power supply, respectively. In this work, we analyse the energy consumption of the most used IoT wireless technologies nowadays: Sigfox, LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, Wi-Fi, BLE. Smart meters’ energy consumption accounts for metering, standby and communication processes. Experimental measurements show that communication consumption may vary upon the specific characteristics of each wireless communication technology—payload, connection establishment, transmission time. Results show that the selection of a specific technology will depend on the application requirements (message payload, metering period) and location constraints (communication range, infrastructure availability). Besides, we compare the performance of the most suitable energy harvesting (EH) techniques for smart meters: photovoltaic (PV), radiofrequency (RF) and magnetic induction (MIEH). Thus, EH technique selection will depend on the availability of each source at the smart meter’s location. The most appropriate combination of IoT wireless technology and EH technique must be selected accordingly to the very use case requirements and constraints.

Since the communication link of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and its reliability evaluation represent an arduous field, we have concentrated our work on this topic. The demand regarding the validity and reliability of the communication and data link of UAV is much higher since the environment of the modern battlefield is becoming more and more complex. Therefore, the communication channel between the vehicle and ground control station (GCS) should be secure and provide an efficient data link. In addition, similar to other types of communications, the data link of a UAV has several requirements such as long-range operation, high efficiency, reliability, and low latency. In order to achieve an efficient data link, we need to adopt a highly efficient modulation technique, which leads to an increase in the flight time of the UAV, data transmission rate, and the reliability of the communication link. For this purpose, we have investigated the single-carrier frequency division multiplexing (SC-FDM) modulation technique for a UAV communication system. The results obtained from the comparative study demonstrate that SC-FDM has better performance than the currently used modulation technique for a UAV communication link. We expect that our proposed approach can be a remarkable framework that will help drone manufacturers to establish an efficient UAV communication link and extend the flight duration of drones, especially those being used for search and rescue operations, military tasks, and delivery services.

The purpose of this study is to determine the process of interpersonal communication, interpersonal communication barriers, and the quality of interpersonal communication between husband and wife in an effort to maintain household harmony. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques used include: observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The data analysis technique used in this study is a qualitative descriptive analysis technique. Meanwhile, the validity of the data was checked using the source triangulation technique, using reference materials and member check techniques. The results of this study indicate that in general, informants have a communication process that is characterized by exchanging information, always limiting the topics they want to talk about, and revealing something they don't like from their partner for good. Communication barriers to informants consist of physical, psychological, and conflict barriers. The quality of informant communication consists of openness, empathy, supportive attitude, positive attitude, honesty, and equality. However, the third and fourth informants did not have a supportive attitude aspect.

Résumé Dans le cadre du colloque « Traduire, écrire, réécrire », la notion d’écriture et plus précisément de rédaction a retenu notre attention. Il est en effet un métier peu connu en France, la rédaction technique aussi dénommée communication technique. Ce métier a vu le jour aux Etats-Unis et les formations sont nombreuses Outre-Atlantique, car de nombreux départements d’anglais ont une composante de communication technique. Il n’en va pas de même en France. Nous allons, dans un premier temps donner une définition de ce métier multifacette, puis nous détaillerons la formation et la recherche dans ce domaine à l’Université Paris Diderot. Notre participation à un projet européen de référentiel de compétences dans ce secteur va aussi permettre à des universités européennes de développer des programmes de formation dans ce secteur. Enfin, nous illustrerons par des exemples de projets de collaboration à distance que nous menons avec des universités américaines et européennes, dans quelle mesure les métiers de la communication technique et de la traduction sont contigus. En effet, la chaîne documentaire part toujours d’un document technique conçu par des communicateurs techniques, puis en bout de chaîne viennent les traducteurs/localisateurs. Il est donc d’une importance primordiale que ces acteurs puissent mieux comprendre les métiers des uns et des autres, pour enrichir leur collaboration.

Herein, we present a case of oroantral communication that was to be treated with clinical examination, tomography, and prototyping. A patient presented with oroantral communication with purulent exudation for 4 months, since the displacement of the dental implant and O-ring component to the maxillary sinus. Tomographic examination and prototyping revealed a 5 mm bone gap. The patient underwent local washes and antibiotic therapy. After local palpation, a bone defect detected by prototyping was suspected to be greater than that observed. For the surgery, a communication tunnel was made, and the bone defect was found to be 12 mm in diameter. A pedicle flap was raised on the palate, followed by sliding and suturing. No complications were observed during the postoperative period, and the suture was removed after a week. Four months later, communication did not resume, and the patient did not complain of pain, foul smelling, or purulent discharge and was satisfied with the outcome. The findings of this case suggest that the lateral sliding flap can be used as an efficient technique for closing oroantral communications. An accurate clinical examination is a critical tool that can be used instead of tomography and prototyping, which can be misleading.

Introduction Communication with hospitalized patients is crucial to improve the quality and safety of health care. Methods The study assessed the communication methods used by nurses while communicating to non-speaking critically ill patients. The participants included staff nurses working in ICU, CICU, HD units of neuro- surgical, orthopedic, medical and oncology wards. Purposive sampling technique was used to recruit a total number of 194 nurses. The communication methods used were assessed by a questionnaire comprised of a list of 21 strategies used to communicate with non-speaking patients. Results The most commonly used strategies were reading the patient’s mouthing words, encouraging the patient by telling them that they are doing well and nurses helping them to get better, assessing the patients for their communication ability, “thumps up” to indicate “yes”, “shake head” indicating “no”, use OK, or point to body parts, speaking slowly and waiting for the patient’s response, spending time to listen patiently to what the patient say and touching the non-speaking critically ill patient when the nurse speaks with the patient. Conclusion The study reported that the nurses used variety of communication strategies while communicating to non- speaking critically ill patients. However very few nurses used Augmentative and alternative communication strategies to communicate to non-speaking critically ill patients. The study recommends the importance of establishing Augmentative and Alternative Communication strategies in the hospitals.

Marketing activities are one of the important things to do in tourism sector. Marketing communication can be done in various ways, one of which is through Tiktok application. One of tourist destination that viral on tiktok lately is Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 and this study aim to acknowledge the Effectiveness of Marketing Communication through Tiktok Application in PIK 2 Jakarta. The operational variables definition of this study used the AIDA model, which consists of attention, interest, desire and action. Data collection techniques were using through observation, literature study, documentation and distributing questionnaires through google form. The sampling technique in this study used a purposive sampling technique by determining the number of respondents using the Lemshow formula as many as 100 respondents. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative by using the Customer Response Index (CRI). In this study, the results of the effectiveness of Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 marketing communications through the Tiktok application obtained an overall AIDA score of 3.26 which included a very effective scale range, and obtained a CRI value of 57%, which means that Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 communication through the Tiktok application effective.

Underwater acoustic communications are challenging because channels are complex, and acoustic waves when propagating in the ocean are subjected to a variety of interferences, such as noise, reflections, scattering and so on. Spread spectrum technique thus has been widely used in underwater acoustic communications for its strong anti-interference ability and good confidentiality. Underwater acoustic channels are typical coherent multipath channels, in which the inter-symbol interference seriously affects the performance of underwater acoustic communications. Time-reversal mirror technique utilizes this physical characteristic of underwater acoustic channels to restrain the inter-symbol interference by reconstructing multipath signals and reduce the influence of channel fading by spatial focusing. This paper presents an M-ary cyclic shift keying spread spectrum underwater acoustic communication scheme based on the virtual time-reversal mirror. Compared to the traditional spread spectrum techniques, this method is more robust, for it uses the M-ary cyclic shift keying spread spectrum to improve the communication rate and uses the virtual time-reversal mirror to ensure a low bit error rate. The performance of this method is verified by simulations and pool experiments.

Security in residential and business establishments has become an area of considerable importance. To provide enhanced security using conventional visible light (VL) communication, the characteristics of which allow for easy access by nearby intruders, a new VL communication technique is proposed in this paper. The novel VL communication system is based on a data encryption method using asymmetric encryption, and it is proposed for use in smart indoor services in the 6th generation communication environment. The asymmetric encryption capability is studied by comparison with the conventional technique, the optimum key length for the public or private encryption codes is determined under the criterion of the minimum estimation error. Moreover, the error performance is analyzed with various RSA encryption keys and data lengths to verify the performance of the proposed technique. A real experiment is performed to evaluate the proposed technique using an implemented test bed, and the success rates of the VL communication technique with and without RSA coding are evaluated by a real experiment with a test bed under an indoor laboratory VL channel. We believe it is evident that the VL communication technique based on asymmetric encryption yields superior error performance compared to that without encryption for optimal lengths of the encryption key and data bits.

Specific configurations are proposed for 2.5G and 10G SDH optical transmission system, and conducted field test and validation. The solution is flexible to configure and easy to install, it provides a convenient emergency communication solution for fast failure recovery of fiber line interruption, damage of relay stations, and fiber aging in electric system.

Based on the context above, the purpose of this research is to answer the question of how the Communications System of Organization in the development of Communication Studies at Faculty of Social and Politic Science, Raden Fatah Islamic State University . The methodology used in this research is descriptive, with qualitative approach. The theory for this research is using organizational information theory from karl Weick. The researcher will do observation, interview, guidelines, and documentation. Data collection techniques are primary data and secondary data. The data collection technique in this research is using primary data in the form of interview data from informants that were considered relevant and become the main source in this reserch, then secondary data that use official records such as documentations, books, etc. Data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions is used for data analysis techniques. The theory used is organization information. System is the absolute form (structure). Communication is a message delivered from the communicator to the communicant through verbal or writings then the occurrence of feedback. Organizations are a number of individuals organized to achieved certain goals. The organizational communication system used by Communication Study Program is a star pattern. Communication is carried out by not only work hour, but also the familiarity outside woring hoursthey do. The media which are used such as whatsapp, email, instagram, telephone, or in person. Barriers that occur are the lack of employess in updating information through online media, language, and distances. Communicaton between the employees occur in openness and good relationships are established. Communication that occurs is very positive. All stakeholders in the Communication Study Program, Faculty of Social and Politic Science are very open with staffs, lectures, and students.

By using interview technique, observation and documentation technique in collecting data, it is found that Wonorejo teenagers have verbal and nonverbal communication content by utilizing social media through Facebook account, Whatsapp even group communication room through online game creating cyberculture among teenagers.

AbstractWe investigate the frequency diverse array (FDA) for joint radar and communication systems. The basic idea is to use the transmitter/receiver modules of the radar system for communication purpose during listening mode as a secondary function. The radar will be performing its routine functions during the active mode as a primary function. An FDA at the transmitter side will be used to produce an orthogonal frequency division multiplexed signal, which is proposed for the communication system. The directivity of the radar antenna, FDA in this case, provides an additional advantage to mitigate the interferences other than the Direction of Interest (DoI). The proposed technique allows two beampatterns to be transmitted sequentially from the same FDA structure. Due to the communication signal transmission in the mainlobe of the second beampattern, the bit error rate achieved in the mainlobe is better than the existing techniques using the sidelobe transmission for communications. At the receiver, both incoming signals of radar and communication will share a different spatial angle. Simulation results indicate the novelty of the idea to suppress the interferences in terms of DoI. Furthermore, we analyzed the signal-to-interference ratio and Cramer–Rao lower bounds for angle and range estimation for the proposed technique.

Under such circumstances, AI technology can provide technical support for integrated marketing communications of HEI brand. In terms of communication content, VR/AR, UAV, interactive games and chatbot are mainly applied. In the aspect of communication channels, the data mining technique is mainly used to achieve differentiated communication, and the big data analysis technique is adopted to integrate brand image information communication channels. With regard to negative information monitoring, the natural language processing technology can provide high-efficiency, full-coverage and round-the-clock negative information monitoring.
