The Biomaterials Industry Subpanel was chartered by the National Research Council (on behalf of the National Academies of Sciences and Engineering) to address the needs and opportunities in materials science and engineering as perceived by the biomaterials industry. This report represents an initial overview and should not be considered definitive.The Committee examined the short-term, intermediate, and long-term needs of the industry and how external factors such as regulations, lack of standards, and international competition influenced the industry. Computer Ethics study has reached a point where Artificial Intelligence, Robot, Fuzzy Systems, Autonomous Vehicles and Autonomous Weapon Systems ethics are implemented in order to make a machine work without intervening and harming others. This survey presents many previous works in this field of computer ethics with respect to artificial intelligence, robot weaponry, fuzzy systems and autonomous vehicles. The paper discusses the different ethics and scenarios up through the current technological advancements and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the different ethics and needs of morality. It is observed that all ethics are equally important today, but human control and responsibility matters. Most recent technology can be implemented or improved by careful observation and involvement of organizations like the United Nations, International Committee for Robot Arms Control, Geneva Conventions and so on.

During the pandemic of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) that hit Indonesia, all activities were very limited. Electrical Engineering Study Program of Universitas Kristen Maranatha was motivated to share knowledge especially in the field of science about "Basic Unity and Virtual Reality (VR)" to the public. This has been realized through community service activities pursued by students and lecturers. VR refers to computer simulations that create images of the world that appear in human senses, in the same way as humans perceive the real world in reality. This community service used the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. From the results of a survey of community service activities that have been carried out, it is concluded that the success in providing mentoring to improve the ability of the community to use Basic Unity and VR online, is shown by the results of an increase in the score from an average of 5.85 before the activity, to 7.58 (from a total score of 10) after the activity. The community service committee team's service during the activity was also considered very good and worthy of being maintained in subsequent activities. Meanwhile, the implementation of providing teaching materials, the readiness of the trainers, and the implementation of organizing activities online, still need to be re-evaluated and improved in the future for better results.

Background: An estimated 43,390 breast augmentation surgeries (86,780 implants) and 1486 breast implant reconstructions are performed annually in Colombia, representing the second-most breast surgery destination in South America, the fourth in the western hemisphere, and the fifth country worldwide. No previous reports have evaluated the incidence of breast implant–associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) epidemiology or outcomes in a Hispanic population. Published data on the incidence of this disease in Colombia are unknown; therefore, a National Joint Multidisciplinary Committee was developed between the Colombian scientific societies of Mastology, Plastic Surgery, Hemato-Oncology, and the Invima (The National Food and Drug Surveillance Institute) to track national cases of BIA-ALCL. Materials and Methods: We performed a retrospective review (survey-based study) of historical cases since 2011–2019, and a prospective collection of all patients with a confirmed World Health Organization diagnosis of BIA-ALCL identified in a newly established National Registry of BIA-ALCL. The trial was approved by Institutional Review Board (IRB).

With the growing number of producers and users of cellulose nanomaterials (CNMs), there is an increasing need to develop standard test methods to control production and quality of CNMs. In 2014, a Task Group was formed within the ISO Technical Committee 6 Paper, board and pulps to begin addressing the need for standards. This Task Group, TG 1, was tasked with reviewing existing standards and identifying the need for additional standards to characterize CNMs. In March 2018, TG 1 launched a survey to ask CNM producers around the world about the importance of having standard procedures to measure and quantify a variety of CNM properties, both physical and chemical. Producers were asked to identify the type(s) of CNM they produced and their scale of production, and to rank the properties for which they felt standard test methods were most important. In this paper, we summarize the survey responses and identify those properties of highest interest for producers of both cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and cellulose nano- and microfibril-based materials (CNFs/CMFs). Properties of importance can be divided into three broad groups: i) a standard has either been developed or is under development, ii) a currently used standard could be adapted for use with CNMs, or iii) no standard is currently available and further R&D and consultation with industry is needed before a suitable and well-validated standard can be developed. The paper also examines the challenges of developing new standard methods for some of the key properties—as well as the feasibility and limitations of adapting exiting standards—to CNMs.

The purpose of this study is to examine ways to revitalize the social economy ecosystem. To this end, the Delphi method and importance-performance analysis were implemented targeting social economy enterprises. Among social economy enterprise workers in Daegu Metropolitan City, 29 people with abundant field experience were selected as panelists, and data collection was conducted twice in total from December 1 to 24, 2021. A total of 21 social economy ecosystem revitalization plans were derived from the first survey, and 12 concepts were selected as a result of the content validity analysis. The IPA based on the selected concepts showed that it was necessary to establish social economy support centers in each city, county, and district and to revitalize the operation of the social economy committee. Based on these contents, suggestions were made regarding nurturing talent to revitalize the social economy ecosystem, creating good jobs, strengthening the capacity, governance, sustainability, and increasing citizen awareness.

Measuring the size of cellulose nanomaterials can be challenging, especially in the case of branched and entangled cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs). The International Organization for Standardization, Technical Committee 6, Task Group 1—Cellulosic Nanomaterials, is exploring opportunities to develop standard methods for the measurement of CNF particle size and particle size distribution. This paper presents a summary of the available measuring techniques, responses from a survey on the measurement needs of CNF companies and researchers, and outcomes from an international workshop on cellulose nanofibril measurement and standardization. Standardization needs differed among groups, with Japanese companies mostly requiring measurements for product specification and production control, and other companies mostly needing measurements for safety/regulatory purposes and for grade definitions in patents. Among all the companies, average length and width with percentiles (D(10), D(50), D(90)) were the most desired measurands. Workshop participants concurred that defining the location(s) on the CNF at which to measure the width and the length is an urgent and complex question. They also agreed that methods are needed for rapid particle size measurement at the nanoscale. Our recommendation within ISO is to start work to revise the definition of CNFs and develop sample preparation and measurement guidelines. It was also recommended that further research be done to reproducibly prepare hierarchical branched CNF structures and characterize them, develop automated image analysis for hierarchical branched CNF structures, and develop a classification system encompassing measurements at multiple size ranges from micro- to nanoscale to fully characterize and distinguish CNF samples.

Abstract Introduction Hospitals are currently facing major financial challenges. Due to the high incidence of breast cancer and the complex range of associated services, surgical treatment of breast cancer is a particular case in point when it comes to the question of cost coverage for innovative versus established procedures by the service providers. The aim of this study is to shed light from a healthcare economics perspective on the current situation of hospitals in Germany with regard to their different structures and processes for breast-conserving therapy. Materials and methods An online questionnaire with 46 questions was developed and made available to hospitals that are members of the AGO [German Working Group for Gynecological Oncology] Breast Committee and AWOgyn [German Working Group for Cosmetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Gynecology], as well as AG-certified breast centers. The questions cover various parameters for health economics analysis, including primary case numbers, structures, and questions about tumor and sentinel marking and surgical procedures. Results 142 hospitals or breast centers took part in the survey. 93% of the hospitals were certified. The average number of primary cases was 264.6 per year. In over 60% of the hospitals, the surgical procedure and surgery planning were influenced by capacity limitations of cooperation partners. “Targeted axillary dissection” was performed in 83.5% of the hospitals, and radioactive markers were most commonly used for sentinel lymph node marking. Over 60% of participating hospitals were highly satisfied with the marking method used. Conclusion This structure and process analysis now makes it possible to reflect on the costs involved for hospitals of different sizes, in different regions, and with different funding models, and to use this as a basis for the economic evaluation of new surgical procedures within an overall context. In general, it is possible to make savings through innovative procedures in the surgical treatment of breast cancer.

Aim. To study and assess the components of the trademark complex, as well as to determine the market power of anti-allergic drugs on the example of Cetirizine. Materials and methods. Scientific publications, reports of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine and the Center for Medical Statistics of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the results of monitoring the retail pharmaceutical market of the “Pharmastandard” system of the “Morion” company, the results of the own research, as well as methods of content and marketing analysis, statistical processing were used as materials. Results. The necessity of further development and deepening of studies of the components of the complex of trademarks (TM) of drugs, changes of market positions of drugs within TM and its highest brand level has been substantiated. It has been recommended to include the notion of “confidence” to the manufacturer and a specific drug to the qualitative consumer characteristics; this notion acts as an indicator of the future strengthening of the drug market positions. On the example of ten drugs of Cetirizine, the assessment of consumer and market indicators of market power of ten drugs based on Cetirizen has been done using a questionnaire survey. A scale of values of the characteristics of the market positions of the TM Cetirizine complex has been developed, and the state of TM and brands at five levels of each has been assessed. The distribution of ten drugs of Cetirizine has been done in the conventional competitive environment using the marketing map. Ten areas of market positions of the TM complex and brands have been identified. The assessment of individual components of TM, which characterize the market power of Cetirizine antiallergic drugs has been performed. Conclusions. Consumer and market indicators of the market power of drugs based on Cetirizine have been characterized. It has been recommended to include the notion of “confidence” to the manufacturer and a specific drug to the consumer characteristics of the TM complex. Based on the questionnaire survey of respondents, single and generalized indicators of ten drugs of Cetirizine have been determined, their levels have been calculated, and a scale of values of the market power characteristics of the TM drug complex has been developed. The state of TM and brands of Cetirizine drugs have been assessed by five levels ranging from absence to a very strong market position. The levels of TM of Cetirizine drugs have been assessed using the scale of values. By using the marketing map the TM distribution of ten drugs of Cetirizine has been done in the competitive market environment, and the areas of market positions have been identified. The components of the TM complex that characterize the market power of drugs based on Cetirizine have been assessed.

% of children and young people all over the world are offi cially diagnosed with addiction. To identify the reasons of the children’s gadgets addiction this research was conducted as a part of the educational activities of the Family, Women, and Children Affairs Committee and the Committee on Education and Science of the public organization “The sovereign course” with participation of teachers and psychologists: Frolova O.S., Fakhrieva O.N., Konoshenko K.N. The research surveys and interviews were conducted with  groups: students of a general education school aged from  to  and their families (parents, siblings and immediate family members). In a secondary school, an observation was made among th and th graders for  months in order to identify adolescents’ dependence on phones. Based on the results of all types of research, the problem of addiction to gadgets and its reasons were identifi ed, and steps to overcome this addiction were developed. Parents’ awareness of the illusory perception of the reasons for children’s gadget addiction and the ways how to solve this problem. The necessity to show to a child a cause-and-effect relationship of the gadget addiction and the idea that it is their growth point which is important to let them live a real life. The lack of quality relationships in families has led to teenagers’ smartphone addiction. () If a family realizes their goals, traditions and there are healthy relationships between parents and good quality time together, children do not go into gadgets. () Children’s gadget addiction is formed by parents focusing on their career, not giving necessary attention to their children. In order to treat their children’s addiction to gadgets parents should () support the interests of the kids, help them fi nd answers to any questions, and () to take into account the child’s individuality and strengths.

Nowadays, cultural and historical built heritage can be more effectively preserved, valorised and documented using advanced geospatial technologies. In such a context, there is a major issue concerning the automation of the process and the extraction of useful information from a huge amount of spatial information acquired by means of advanced survey techniques (i.e., highly detailed LiDAR point clouds). In particular, in the case of historical built heritage (HBH) there are very few effective efforts. Therefore, in this paper, the focus is on establishing the connections between semantic and geometrical information in order to generate a parametric, structured model from point clouds using ontology as an effective approach for the formal conceptualisation of application domains. Hence, in this paper, an ontological schema is proposed to structure HBH representations, starting with international standards, vocabularies, and ontologies (CityGML-Geography Markup Language, International Committee for Documentation conceptual reference model (CIDOC-CRM), Industry Foundation Classes (IFC), Getty Art and Architecture Thesaurus (AAT), as well as reasoning about morphology of historical centres by analysis of real case studies) to represent the built and architecture domain. The validation of such schema is carried out by means of its use to guide the segmentation of a LiDAR point cloud from a castle, which is later used to generate parametric geometries to be used in a historical building information model (HBIM).

OBJECTIVES/SPECIFIC AIMS: Enhancing Patient Safety for hospitalized patients is a priority for healthcare facilities, providers, and federal funding agencies. Multidisciplinary partnerships in clinical and translational research better defines the scope of complex patient-safety issues, and is part of more effectively developing interventions. The discipline represented by engineering-trained partners brings valuable perspective to patient safety problems through their training background in human factors and systems analysis. The objective of this education program was to create and implement a collaboration between engineering students and clinical providers. Through the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, a multidisciplinary partnership was created, to identify contributing factors, and suggest novel solutions, to key patient safety problems using an ethnographic research approach. METHODS/STUDY POPULATION: The collaboration was formed between the following Johns Hopkins (JH) groups: (1) The Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR), (2) The Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety, (3) The JH Hospital Clinical Engineering Services, (4) The Homecare Group, (5) The Masters of Science in Engineering Management Program at the Whiting School of Engineering, and (6) The JH Hospital Risk Management. All 6 provided representation to contribute to the planning, structure, and implementation of the project. The initial cohort was 24 masters students enrolled in the JHU Whiting School of engineering, and included 46% men, 54% women, and 75% international students. Students were placed in teams of 2–3 to work on 9 distinct patient safety concerns, as provided by the Armstrong Institute as priority. Potential clinical hosts from the appropriate clinical departments were vetted for feasibility and scope before students were assigned to them. Students and clinical hosts were oriented to the process. The students then spent 3–6 hours a week, for 7 weeks, observing and interacting with patients and health professionals at their specific clinical sites, conducting ethnographic research under the guidance of their hosts. Ethnographic research is the systematic investigation of a culture or system; in our application, teams were looking at the environment, culture, and its contributing factors, with respect to patient safety issues. Teams made observations, then formulated hypothesis and collected data relevant to what systems factors may be contributing to the patient safety issue. Following data collection and analyses, teams made recommendations for culture and/or systems shifts that could impact change and improve patient safety. Ethnography research process training is a tenet of the training undertaken by all Masters of Science in Engineering Management Students. RESULTS/ANTICIPATED RESULTS: At the end of the 7-week project, each team generated a comprehensive report suggesting potential solutions for each problem, and gave presentations on their findings to their peers, clinical hosts, and JHU steering committee representatives. Requirements on the student side included a midterm, final presentation, and report. Both students and site leaders submitted mid- and final program evaluations. Based on follow-up survey data, 71% of students said that the course may impact their career choice, 57% said the collaboration changed the way they viewed themselves, and 28% elected to continue working or were planning to work with their site in some fashion after the course ended. Nearly 60% of students believed additional funding or resources would benefit the course and 71% thought they would benefit from more or similar experiences with their clinical partners. Furthermore, 85% wanted to see the course expanded. Of the clinical hosts, 71% said that students added value, 86% believed students changed their perspective on their problem, unveiled new areas of investigation, and improved or likely would improve patient safety in their department. Seventy-one percent of hosts were actively acting on the students’ findings, and over 86% shared findings with their colleagues. Following the 7-week program, 2 teams also presented their findings to committees within the hospital departments, 2 patient-safety projects are being continued with engineering teams, and 2 new collaborative projects have been initiated. Based on the popularity of this program with the students, hosts, and teaching faculty, this will be implemented within the engineering curriculum for a second time next year. Additional outcomes data collection are currently ongoing, and we plan to continue to monitor and analyze results. DISCUSSION/SIGNIFICANCE OF IMPACT: In its first year our engineering collaboration exceeded expectations. Engineering students and clinical providers successfully worked toward tangible solutions that were directly applicable to patient care. Furthermore, interactions were both personally and professionally beneficial for students while simultaneously adding value to clinical hosts. Beyond the collaboration, this initiative allowed for secondary connections between engineers and clinicians that are also have great potential for resulting in translational innovation. Despite the overwhelming success of this project, it highlighted the need for increased resources for sustainability. Our pilot highlighted a role for funding with regards to: (1) students in the execution of their projects (eg, transportation to sites, prototype materials); (2) clinical hosts, particularly protecting time to interact with and lead student teams; (3) the Armstrong Institute—to aid the identification and prioritization of high impact, patient safety projects; and (4) the ICTR for staff to facilitate placements, student orientation to the hospital setting, and program execution and maintenance. Ultimately, this collaboration addressed an unmet need for the clinical providers as well as the engineering students: thus, all partners agree that (1) the impact of this pilot would be greatly magnified by more time, longer duration, and additional resources; and (2) this collaboration could provide a useful model for approaching other complex health care problems. With two years having passed since the infamous cyber conflict between Estonia and Russia, on 08 May 2009 international society still lacks a coherent set of principles, rules, and norms governing state security and military operations in cyberspace. For parties committed to promoting the cause of peace and stability in a multipolar world, this is a troubling notion since history shows that the likelihood of a new arms race is high when disruptive technologies dramatically alter the means and methods of war. As more nations aspire to project national power in cyberspace, a new digital arms race appears to be imminent if not already upon us. Thus, there is a central question confronting international society and Nigeria in cyberspace: What steps can be taken both today and into the future to forestall a major arms race and interstate competition in cyberspace? In order to begin addressing this complex question from the perspective of the Euro-Atlantic Community, this paper discusses both the challenges and opportunities of regulating 21st century cyber warfare. The paper is divided into sections, which examine the evolution of the laws of armed conflict (LOAC) since the late 19th century, how the LOAC apply to cyber warfare as viewed primarily from a US perspective (since US scholars have dominated the international regime discourse thus far), and the historical facts on cyber warfare. Public–private partnership (PPP) is a prominent tool for sustainable infrastructure development. However, the positive contributions of PPPs toward the attainment of sustainable, climate resilience and zero-carbon infrastructure projects are hampered by poor financial risk management. This problem is more prevalent in developing countries like Ghana where private investment inflow has plummeted due to the COVID-19 recession and poor project performance. Thus, this study aims to assess the key financial risk management strategies in ensuring sustainable PPP infrastructure projects in Ghana. The study utilised primary data from PPP practitioners in Ghana solicited through survey questionnaires. Factor analysis, mean scores and fuzzy synthetic analysis are the data analysis techniques for this study. The results revealed that sustainable and green funding models, effective cost-reduction initiatives, a competent team with committed leadership and emerging technologies and regulations constitute the key strategies for managing the financial risks of sustainable PPP infrastructure projects. Although future studies must expand the scope of data gathering, the findings of the study enrich the theoretical understanding of financial risks in sustainable investments in PPP infrastructures. Relevant remedies that will aid the development of practical financial risk management guidelines are also provided in this study for PPP practitioners.

DS3077 “Representative Sampling – Horizontal Standard”, released in 2013, is a Danish Standard but was from the start intended as a de facto international standard. DS3077 (2013) was the result of growing international frustration over the lack of a comprehensive standard covering general sampling issues and recommendations regarding practical sampling across the countless specific matrices targeted within science, technology, industry, trade, commerce, regulatory and law-enforcing agencies and in society at large. Within these application sectors, before 2013 there was a belief that specific material-dependent sampling procedures (and equipment) were needed. It was assumed that these issues were better addressed in specific matrix-related standards dealing with handling of important commodities and general classes of materials, with dedicated chapters on their sampling included. Thus, for a long time, sampling issues were relegated to such minor chapters, or subchapters only, never receiving the full attention deserved. Progress on developing general sampling principles was therefore absent from the international standards arena. This was status quo at the time the first World Conference on Sampling and Blending, WCSB1, took place in 2003. But in the immediately following years it was realized just how big the need for a general approach was. Something had to give. Therefore, it fell to a small R&D group at a peripheral university location in the outskirts of Europe to break this deadlock: But who had ever heard of the city ofEsbjerg (5th largest city of Denmark, itself a nation hardly among the leading players in the EU). Never-the-less, at the satellite university campus of Aalborg University (currently, its engineering department rated 8th in the world, and number 1 in Europe), a new professorship was inaugurated dedicated to chemometrics and sampling, both new disciplines on the engineering curriculum. Not necessarily a promising academic environment from which to take on the world – and with aspirations to develop the world’s first “horizontal“ sampling standard (horizontal: = matrix-independent). 2008 saw the first committee meetings devoted to scope out this task, which at the time seemed quite formidable, if not almost hopeless. Design, history, and acknowledgements” doi: 10.1255/tosf.7 Fast forward: Ten years later, 2022, it is time to revise DS3077. Normally standards are revised with intervals of ca. five years, but in the present case, a national standard with clear international ambitions, rules and regulations were deliberately loosened up, to give the standard a fair try of proving its value. At the time closing in on its 10-year anniversary, Danish Standards conducted a critical survey of its“history” (the sales history) – and found the evidence of its merit and usefulness quite satisfactory, numerically and otherwise. Thus, revision of DS3077(2013) is now on the agenda for 2022/2023. This POSTER is a call to interested parties and stakeholders to consider contributing to this revision. Revision of the Danish standard (from 2nd to 3rd edition) will take part in Q3 and Q4, 2022. Immediately following the release of DS3077(2023), 3rd edition, work will begin on introducing the fully revised edition into the ISO realm, following standard ISO procedures. This POSTER is also a call to all interested parties to consider contributing to this ISO process. It is felt that WCSB10 is a perfect occasion to reach out to catch the attention of potential taskforce members from all over the International Pierre Gy Sampling Association (IPGSA) community!

In the late 80s and early 90s, everyone realized the inefficiency of the centralized model of economic system, which led to an empty budget, public debts, and the collapse of the economy, which, in turn, caused the collapse of the country. The unwillingness to change the paradigm of centralized management of the economy to market economy with the minimum necessary state regulation in the interests of society forced revolutionary changes to be carried out within a timeframe that required a longer transition time from a planned economy to a market one. State support for land reform actually finished in 2000 with the abolition of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for Land Policy, the termination of the Federal Target Program "Development of Land Reform in the Russian Federation for 1999-2002" and the liquidation of the land service represented by 75 state survey institutes for land management (Giprozems of the RosNIizemproekt association) in 2000-2004. The continuation of spontaneous land transformations by the «invisible hand of the market» with the purchase of undervalued agricultural land by land speculators using these lands for their own purposes, the seizure of land shares of rural residents, the formation of hundreds of thousands and million hectares of land holdings, the widespread excessive use of soil fertility, uncompleted cadastre with disputed borders and a gray market for short-term leases of agricultural land moved to «land scarcity among land abundance». The paper contains these facts and proposes the measures to rationalize agricultural land use in our country.

The purpose of this study is to find a method for the Sejong City Public Museum to contribute to the development of local culture and the promotion of lifelong education. It can be said that the difference from existing research is that it focuses on the “Ordinance”, which is an institutional device for this purpose, and compares and analyzes it with the museum management ordinances of other local governments. As a result of the survey, out of the 23 local government's museum operation ordinances, five ordinances were the ordinances in which the purpose of the ordinance was to describe the development of local culture and the promotion of cultural rights of citizens. The Sejong City Ordinance did not include the purpose of such ordinances. And there are six ordinances with content on museum education, including Sejong City. Looking at the contents, only the contents related to most operation, registration fee, and recruitment of instructors are described. Therefore, in order for the public museum of Sejong City to lead the role of the regional cultural education institution, it is necessary to supplement the ordinance that becomes its institutional device. This re- search proposes that the “Sejong City Municipal Museum Operation Ordinance” should include content that enhances the historical value and self-esteem of the region, such as the development of regional culture and the promotion of citizens' cultural rights. In addition, it is proposed to include education contents that utilizes local culture and content that can form a committee in museum education.

The paper proposes a real-time model for electric vehicles (EVs) controlled load charging. The proposed demand-side management (DSM) of EVs is implemented based on queuing analysis with a nonhomogeneous arrival rate and charging service periods dataset. An electric vehicle model is used which is based on a statistical survey to represent the uncontrolled demand of the EVs. A probability distribution for the time at which EVs are plugged and the corresponding value of the state of charges (SOCs) are considered. The preferences of individual EVs have been fully exploited through a set of instructions to fulfill the needs of the vehicles’ owners. The designated preferences include the owner setting for both, charging price preferences (OPR), and the maximum estimated parking time duration (EPTD). The quasi-static time-series (QSTS) simulation is used to simulate real-time scenarios of the 24-h simulation period. The IEEE 123 nodes radial test feeder is analyzed with different daily load curves, EV charging scenarios, and wind power penetrations. The results show the effectiveness of the proposed DSM in avoiding excessive levels of charging with/without penetration of non-dispatchable wind power generation. The proposed DSM enables the EVs to charge with low tariff rates either at excessive renewable power generation or late evening hours with available committed bulk power plants and light loading conditions.

This study aims to (1) determine the association between audit committee effectiveness and earnings quality. (2) examine whether all the audit committee effectiveness attributes such as independence, financial expertise, diligence, resources and authority are significantly related to earnings quality. Methodology: The study used a cross-sectional and correlational research design. Data were collected using a survey research instrument from the Chief Finance Officers and Heads of internal audit departments of 136 regulated firms in Uganda. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Scientists V.26. Findings: The findings indicate that audit committee effectiveness is positive and significantly associated with earnings quality. The study also reveals that amongst all the dimensions of audit committee effectiveness, only audit committee financial expertise has a positive and significant effect on earnings quality in regulated firms in Uganda. Research implications/Limitations: This study focused only on regulated firms in Uganda. Future studies could be carried out in unregulated firms in Uganda. Originality/Value: The study is one of the few studies that examines earnings quality using a perception-based approach. Also, the study reveals that only audit committee financial expertise explains more variations in earnings quality than the other four dimensions do, in regulated firms in Uganda.

Aim: To explore the most used Web 2.0 tools for health information during COVID-19, to identify the most used social media tool for health information during COVID-19 and to explore the type of health information explored on social networking sites Method: The present study specifically explored the librarians' approach to using social networking sites for the provision of information services. The present study measured librarians' use of social networking sites to provide health information quantitatively. For this purpose, a structured questionnaire was used to survey librarians of university libraries in Punjab.` Results: The results of the study validated that information professionals are keen and active in using social media for seeking out health information and also rely on more personal networks like WhatsApp. They searched for COVID-19-related information mostly other than fetching out general information. For this reason, we mostly relied on discussion groups, not random information-seeking. This shows their level of committed indulgence in these social media platforms, and they used their information literacy skills to seek health information. Conclusion: University librarians are an essential and vital element of any university, and they should be investigated in order to improve their services and resources to meet the demands of their users and researchers. The Indian derivatives market remains small despite a lengthy history, several committee recommendations, and continuous developments. The Indian derivatives market is dominated by institutional investors, with little participation from individual investors due to a lack of awareness and comprehension of the product. As a result, the objectives of this research are to establish the level of retail investor derivatives market awareness, as well as the relationship between awareness and derivatives market investment intention. A questionnaire- based survey is being conducted with a sample size of 30 respondents. The findings of the survey demonstrate that the majority of respondents have either average or below average derivatives market awareness, and that there is a strong link between awareness and derivatives market investment intention.

This collection of proceedings compiles oral and paper presentations submitted by the authors and scrutinized by the special committee. In view of travel restrictions and indoor activities related to COVID-19, we were forced to move MSMEE 2022 online. The online conference was held on the video conferencing software Tencent Meeting. The format of questioning and discussion was that after each author’s introduction, the conference chairman and committee members asked and answered questions. The organizing and editorial committee of the MSMEE 2022 hopes you enjoy the reading of this volume. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to share the results of the 2019 international interlending survey conducted by the American Library Association, Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), Sharing and Transforming Access to Resources Section (STARS) International Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Committee, the fourth such survey conducted by this group since 2007. Design/methodology/approach Committee members developed the survey instrument and collected data in Qualtrics. Questions from the 2015 and 2011 instruments were reused to support longitudinal data analysis, and new questions related to improving the sharing of resources across borders were added. The survey was distributed to libraries worldwide via multiple methods, and translations in six of the seven official International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions languages were provided. Findings Results reveal challenges to engaging in global resource sharing in the areas of discovery and request methods, policies and service models, copyright and licensing, delivery and payment. Strategies to overcome these challenges, as informed by both the survey results and recent literature, are shared. Reinforcing each other, these independently and organically developed solutions illustrate ways to further advance ILL. Practical implications The findings can aid ILL practitioners and the organizations to which they belong in improving the sharing of resources across borders. By optimizing this service, libraries can better support researchers in a globalized environment. Originality/value The 2019 RUSA STARS survey is the first survey on the topic of international ILL to offer multiple translations complimenting global distribution. It contributes to the literature by offering a broad and updated perspective on current international ILL practices, challenges impeding the sharing of library materials abroad and possible solutions.
