This thesis focuses on the problem of AppStreaming which is: moving the execution of application logic to the server-side and forwarding the User Interface (UI) to a weak client. Also, this proposal will be evaluated and compared to a current solution. The target hardware for the solution is Amazons cloud-based server rental service and weak Digital boxes. Current solutions require a fair amount of server power, and a great deal of bandwidth. The solution proposed in this thesis focuses on a smaller range of applications than the current solution and as such makes assumptions about the nature of the applications and thus exploits these to increase performance. The solution was implemented proof-of-concept style and evaluated with good results. The applications chosen for evaluation (three dierent browser-games) had much lower requirements on the proof-of-concept implementation than the business implementation of the current solution. The proposed solution is a mix of several well known compression schemes with a few intuitive adjustments.
Detta examensarbete fokuserar på en lösning för Appströmning (AppStreaming) som är: yttandet av exekvering av applikationslogik till serversidan för att avlasta en svag klient. Denna lösning utvärderas och jämfors med en existerande lösning. Målhårdvaran för lösningen är Amazons molnbaserade serveruthyrningstjänst och klena Digital-TV boxar. Nuvarande lösningar kräver kraftiga servrar och mycket bandbredd. Lösningen som föreslås i detta examensarbete fokuserar på ett mindre utbud av spel an nuvarande lösning. Som en följd av detta kan antaganden göras om spelmiljöerna och utnyttja dessa antaganden för att öka prestandan. Lösningen implementerades som ett bevis-av-koncept och utvärderingen gav goda resultat. Applikationerna som valdes för utvärderingarna (tre olika webblasarspel) visade sig ha lägre serverkrav samt lägre bandbreddskonsumtion än den nuvarande lösningen. Den föreslagna lösningen är en blandning av era etablerade kompressionsalgoritmer med justeringar för dessa applikationertyper.

Electronic gadgets such as touchpads and smartphones are becoming more popular in business and everyday life. The main advantage of mobile devices over personal computers is their portability. Cellular data plans allow Internet access without having permanent access point. There is a number of web-based applications available for gadgets. The primary goal of these apps is to provide their services through constant Internet access. However, it may affect the operation of both devices and applications. The objective of this thesis is to find a better way of client/server data synchronization in iOS development that can reduce the negative consequences of constant Internet access such as Internet traffic consumption, reduced battery life and cover area limitation of cellular services. As the result of the conducted research, the "FollowQTM" application was developed. Despite the fact, that the application is synchronized with web server, it does not require constant Internet access to operate.

Il lavoro presentato in questa tesi tratta la progettazione e l’implementazione di un’applicazione mobile utilizzabile come wayfinding per ambienti esterni non mappati. Nato su richiesta da parte di un committente, il sistema si pone come obiettivo quello di agevolare l’utente nell’orientamento e negli spostamenti effettuati all’interno di spazi, anche di grandi dimensioni, per i quali non è possibile ricorrere all’utilizzo dei sistemi di navigazione già esistenti. Il software trova applicazione in contesti quali parchi divertimento o grandi eventi all’aperto e agisce da navigatore mostrando i punti di interesse presenti nell’area e permettendo di attivare la navigazione verso di essi. L’interfaccia grafica è stata realizzata in modo da mostrare un design simile ad applicazioni del settore già presenti sul mercato, questo allo scopo di privilegiare un approccio intuitivo all’ambiente ed offrire una piacevole esperienza d’uso anche da parte di utenti inesperti.

An extensive body of literature supports the clinical utility and feasibility of client-centric goal-setting techniques in neurorehabilitation. However, such techniques are seldom used and difficult to adopt in mainstream clinical practice. Two primary barriers that limit uptake and adoption of individualized goal-setting techniques into routine practice include: (1) lack of an operationalized framework susceptible to variations in the characteristics of the user and constraints of a medical setting and (2) limited knowledge on the part of clinicians and clients to confidently engage in goal-setting conversations. The eGAS app was designed to address the need for a semi-structured client-centric goal-setting framework for clinicians engaged in neurorehabilitation. This study used a single-subject design to investigate the effects of using eGAS in an outpatient hospital setting on clinician behavior and client responsiveness. A nonconcurrent, multiple-baseline design was used across three clinicians to determine if use of eGAS would result in functional changes in collaborative interviewing behaviors, validity of generated goal scales, and reliability of the process. Results revealed that using eGAS had strong functional effects on collaborative interviewing behaviors and validity of goal scales, and a weak effect on reliability. Another noteworthy finding was that eGAS could be implemented with relatively high fidelity within the constraints of a clinical context despite variations in the characteristics of the end-user, i.e. clients and clinicians. I discuss support for ecological validity of eGAS in terms of implementation barriers and facilitators that affected outcomes, methodological limitations, and future steps to improve design validity and implementation integrity.

Attualmente, la maggior parte dei dati che transitano sulla rete appartiene a contenuti multimediali. Più nello specifico, è lo Streaming Video ad avere la predominanza nella condivisione di Internet; vista la crescita che tale servizio ha subìto negli ultimi anni, si sono susseguiti diversi studi volti allo sviluppo di tecniche e metodologie che potessero migliorarlo. Una di queste è sicuramente l'Adaptive Video Streaming, tecnica utilizzata per garantire all'utente una buona Quality of Experience (QoE) mediante l'utilizzo dei cosiddetti "algoritmi di rate adaptation". Il lavoro svolto in questi studi si è voluto concentrare su due filoni distinti, ma allo stesso tempo confrontabili: la prima parte della tesi riguarda lo sviluppo e l'analisi di alcuni algoritmi di rate adaptation per DASH, mentre la seconda è relativa all'implementazione di un nuovo algoritmo che li possa affiancare, migliorando la QoE nel monitorare lo stato della connessione. Si è quindi dovuta implementare un'applicazione Android per lo streaming video, che fosse conforme allo standard MPEG-DASH e potesse fornire le informazioni di testing da utilizzare per le analisi. La tesi è suddivisa in quattro capitoli: il primo introduce l'argomento e definisce la terminologia necessaria alla comprensione degli studi; il secondo descrive alcuni dei lavori correlati allo streaming adattivo e introduce i due filoni principali della tesi, ovvero gli algoritmi di rate adaptation e la proposta di algoritmo per la selezione dinamica del segmento; il terzo presenta l'app SSDash, utilizzata come mezzo per le analisi sperimentali; infine, il quarto ed ultimo capitolo mostra i risultati delle analisi e le corrispondenti valutazioni.

Завданням є розгляд різних ринкових моделей та пошук моментів зупинки в які власник опціонів американського типу зможе максимізувати свій прибуток. В дисертації проведено дослідження фінансових інструментів, ринкових моделей та можливих рішень задач з пошуку моменту зупинки. Розроблено систему програмної підтримки реалізації інтерфейсу для по- шуку моменту зупинки в наявній моделі.

The subject of the research are financial instruments and tasks of finding the moment of stopping. The urgency of the work is that at the moment the financial market in Ukraine is still developing. Options are not yet widely used, but they are used all over the world and with the formation of the financial market they will become widely used. The task is to consider different market models and find stopping points in which the owner of American-type options will be able to maximize their profits. The research of financial instruments, market models and possible solutions of problems on finding the stopping moment is carried out in the work. A system of software support for the implementation of the interface for finding the stopping moment in the existing model has been developed.

The research examined the relationship between counsellor awareness of client-identified helpful events and session and event level outcome. Furthermore, counselling participants' experiences of the change processes in high and low counsellor awareness were also examined. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used to analyze ratings and word responses of clients' and counsellors' perspectives about how therapeutic change came about in helpful therapy events. Results of the quantitative study indicated no association between counsellor awareness and session and event level outcome. Results of the qualitative study indicated that in helpful events that therapists were most aware of, clients described the process as particularly more helpful than events where therapists were least aware. Descriptions from the high awareness events indicated that therapists tended to be most aware of client selected helpful events characterized by an interpersonal therapeutic focus, with clients expressing and exploring negative feelings toward significant others. Descriptions from the low awareness events indicated that therapists were least aware of client selected helpful events where clients were working toward identifying their feelings and understanding unwanted aspects of themselves.

¿Sabías que, en el Perú a cada hora sucede un accidente automovilístico? Lima es una ciudad con bastante actividad nocturna, tanto para las personas que trabajan como para las que salen a divertirse, sumado a eso los ciudadanos tienen una vida muy activa que puede iniciar desde horas muy tempranas o jornadas de amanecidas. Además las personas tienden a movilizarse por tramos largos que dependiendo del tráfico pueden demorar más de una hora. Todo esto demanda que muchas personas que salen en sus autos no están en condiciones de manejar por estar en estado de ebriedad, cansados, enfermos u otras causas hacen que pierda el control del vehículo ocasionando accidentes leves, graves e inclusive mortales. Por ello, proponemos desarrollar el proyecto de choferes de reemplazo “IDriver”, el cual consiste en desarrollar un aplicativo para móviles que facilite un servicio seguro y confiable en la conducción del vehículo del propio cliente a la vez que lo transportamos a su destino. Con esta herramienta tecnológica podremos brindar el servicio a cualquier hora del día, todos días del año y en cualquier parte del país donde opere la empresa. Creada por tres profesionales, este proyecto, que si bien hemos detectado un problema, también hemos detectado una fuente de oportunidades para su desarrollo, ya que hasta ahora no se ha podido implementar una aplicación como esta, por los costos que demanda mantener en planilla a los choferes de la empresa, pero con nuestra propuesta de negocio fundamentada en una economía colaborativa, podremos revolucionar el modelo tradicional del mercado de servicio de choferes de reemplazo, lo que hace viable nuestro proyecto.

This thesis explains how veterinary surgeons keep their clients in line through a melange of fact and fiction. Originating from the intimate study of veterinary interactions, it represents theory systematically grounded in data. Veterinarians employ mystification processes to manipulate clients' awareness. Vets engage in coaching clients to suit their own agendas. These activities may be benign or opportunistic. Cultivating strategies are also explained whereby vets seek apparently friendly relationships with clients. This disguises the instrumental nature of these interactions. The research indicates that keeping people in line is a robust process evident in diverse contexts. It has obvious commercial significance and is likely to be of relevance to veterinarians, their clients, marketers, researchers and potentially to those wishing to control others in diverse contexts.

Samples from two populations, entering freshmen at Western Kentucky University who were either peer counseled/advised or professionally counseled/advised, were compared on three vairables: (i) retention rate as sophomores, (2) freshman grade point averages earned. and (3) client satisfaction with counseling/advisement services. The variance between the means of the two freshmen groups was analyzed using a two tailed t test. There was no significant difference between groups in retention or grade point average. There was, however, significant difference in client satisfaction between the peer counseled/advised freshmen and the professionally counseled/advised freshmen. Freshmen receiving peer counseling/advisement rated their helpers at a higher level of effectiveness than did the professionally counseled/advised group of freshmen.

The single project paradigm which dominates the literature of both project and construction management research does not accurately reflect the reality of many construction clients, who have large ongoing construction portfolios rather than one off construction projects. It is contended that the forces behind the multi-project environment (MPE) of construction clients are different to those traditionally viewed within the single project paradigm. Although several concepts of MPEs exist, an investigation of the form and dynamic interactions of components within MPEs of construction clients was lacking. The main objectives of the research were a) to determine the major factors influencing project delivery within the MPE, b) to investigate the interaction between these factors and the attributes of different forms of MPEs, c) to develop a typology of the MPE of construction clients, and d) suggest policies for effective management of MPEs. The MPEs of six construction clients were explored. The cases included a variety of retailers, a hotel group, a utility company and a housing and commercial developer to gain a range of perspectives within both primary and secondary experienced clients. Propositions were used as guidance for the investigation and analysis of the data, which consisted of interviews and organisational documentation. The data indicated that the business environment strongly drives the project inception process. However, the inherent uncertainty within the general environment causes a milieu of unpredictable change within the project delivery process, which in turn manifests in compromised performance and outcomes. Factors influencing the process are the lack of `continuity' within workload, contractual relationships, expertise and production, with concomitant effects on project outcomes. Suppliers perceive clients as `inhibiting continuity' thereby nullifying advantages inherent in repetitive and lean production principles. Other factors influencing the process are high planning authority intervention, low client commitment and low standardisation. Causal networks and an Influences model were used to graphically capture the dynamics of these factors within the MPE. 111 A typology of the MPE of construction clients was developed and validated through literal and theoretical replication between cases. Three main types emerged as descriptive of programmes within client's construction portfolios; Bounded programmes, Target programmes and Rolling programmes. The distinctive features of each type suggest that specific approaches are necessary for the successful delivery of projects within a portfolio. Solutions suggested by the data are presented.

Background: Due to the increased knowledge gaps that originate from rapid technological change, many organizations are in need of consulting services. As of this, the consulting market has had rapid growth, which has caught the attention of scholars. Previous research has identified an interface between knowledge and identity as two prominent concepts when analyzing the client-consultant relationship. Despite this, there is still a great lack of empirical insights regarding how these two concepts might affect this relationship. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to explore knowledge transfer within the client-consultant relationship by applying the lens of role identity. Furthermore, the research aimed to increase the understanding of the barriers to knowledge transfer, where they originate from,and how to overcome them. Method: This research is of a qualitative sort, where abductive reasoning has been applied in order to fulfill our research purpose. Furthermore, a single case study approach was conducted and data was gathered from interviews with both consultants and clients. The gathered data was analyzed by using grounded analysis, where insights have been identified by creating 1st order concepts, 2nd order themes and aggregated dimensions. Conclusion: The result of this study indicates that different idiosyncratic and conventional role identity meanings create mismatches within the client-consultant relationship. The concept of role identity ambiguity creates barriers for securing knowledge transfer within the client-consultant relationship, and knowledge transfer outcomes affect future role identity meanings. The result of this study contributes to already existing literature regarding role identity, knowledge transfer and the client-consultant relationship. Furthermore, the study presents managerial implications that will increase consultants' understanding of the barriers and suggestions for how to overcome them.

Personal and professional development activities are a central component of Counselling Psychology training due to regulatory requirements and the high value Counselling Psychology places on the therapist’s "self". Most research on the facilitation of personal and professional development focuses on specific training activities such as personal therapy and personal development groups. However, it is widely acknowledged that personal and professional development are also facilitated by aspects of training and life that are not designed for their facilitation. This research explores the relationship between trainee Counselling Psychologists’ personal and professional development and their client work. Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to analyse semi-structured interviews with six final year trainee Counselling Psychologists. Two main findings were identified: firstly, participants were unable to discuss their personal and professional development in relation to client work specifically; personal and professional development were facilitated by the relevance of specific experiences to individuals’ needs and preferences rather than activities having a direct facilitative effect themselves. Secondly, participants did not engage in active personal development work, and this was not explicitly discussed or structured in training. These findings imply that trainees may not develop optimally: as personal and professional development are highly individualised and complex processes, research and training that focuses on specific training activities may fail to interrogate the complexity of why and how personal and professional development are facilitated. Regulatory and ethical implications are discussed alongside existing literature to suggest the beginnings of a personal development curriculum for Counselling Psychology training.

Nuestro equipo decidió realizar el modelo de negocio de una “start-up” llamada FINDIN, que tiene como su principal ventaja el permitir a las personas que lo utilizan encontrar tiendas con marcas y ofertas de los productos de la categoría similares a los que buscan en la zona donde se encuentren. De lo que se trata, es que en base a un aplicativo de geo-localización que usa la ubicación del móvil del usuario, pueda encontrar ofertas similares en la misma zona y así se pueda beneficiar de más variedad de productos y comparar precios. El problema que validamos y que dio origen a la aplicación, era que las personas no tenían tiempo para buscar tiendas, incluso por la zona de búsqueda. Van siempre a los mismos lugares y si necesitan un producto determinado, entonces piden referencias a amigos o, secundariamente, buscan por internet. Dar vueltas buscando incluso es un problema por el tráfico de la ciudad y la falta de parqueos. Así mismo, validamos que las empresas que anuncian sus productos no tienen muchas alternativas publicitarias o no acceden a ellas. Las grandes empresas son las que copan las diferentes alternativas de medios publicitarios y para las empresas pequeñas y hasta medianas, les resulta muy costoso acceder a la publicidad. Por ende, no tienen muchas alternativas para llegar a más gente. De la misma manera, las personas quisieran más variedad de marcas y ofertas de lo que buscan, pero les es difícil, por tiempo y esfuerzo, salir a buscarlas. En este contexto, el presente proyecto pretende desarrollar una aplicación web y móvil validando nuestros dos segmentos: usuarios y anunciantes, su problema u oportunidad, la causa más probable que origina el problema y la solución que hemos planteado para ese problema, aprovechando la oportunidad que genera. Actualmente en el Perú no existe una aplicación que pueda realizar lo que plantea nuestra idea inicial, la competencia en ese sentido es nula. Adicionalmente, se crearán barreras de entrada para nuevas empresas que quieran copiar nuestro servicio las cuales están detalladas en nuestro plan de marketing, además los cuatro socios que conformamos el negocio asumiremos roles dentro de las gerencias esenciales para el desarrollo operativo de nuestra empresa, ya que somos un equipo altamente calificado. El desarrollo de la plataforma tecnológica estará a cargo de un tercero con experiencia, el cual brindará un producto de calidad, además de asesoría, soporte en el mantenimiento y un plan de contingencias para que se lleve a cabo con total éxito el uso del aplicativo.

Therapist behaviours can impact the success of the therapeutic process for their clients. This study examined whether two aspects of trainee therapists' behaviour – facilitative interpersonal skills and verbal response modes (VRM) – influenced their clients' process. Therapist interpersonal skills and VRM were compared across two-minute video segments preceding either deepening levels of client emotional experiencing (N = 30) or unchanging experiencing levels (N = 30). Interpersonal skills and VRM were unrelated to one another and to differences in client experiencing. Although trainee skills were unrelated to deepening experiencing, this study provides a descriptive account of the skills that trainees employ with clients during their first year of clinical training. Challenges of research in this field, limitations of the current study and avenues for future research are discussed.
Le comportement d'un thérapeute peut influencer le succès du processus thérapeutique des patients. Cette étude vise à examiner si deux aspects comportementaux de stagiaires thérapeutes –les compétences interpersonnelles et les modes de réponse verbaux (VRM) –ont influencé les processus de la thérapie. Les compétences interpersonnelles et les VRM des stagiaires ont été comparés par intervalle de deux minutes précédant soit les niveaux de l'approfondissement de l'expérience émotionnelle du client (N = 30), soit les niveaux d'expérience émotionnelle invariables (N = 30). Les résultats ne montrent pas de relation entre les compétences interpersonnelles et les VRM, ni selon l'expérience émotionnelle du patient. Bien que les compétences des stagiaires ne sont pas liées à l'approfondissent de l'expérience, cette étude fournit des informations concernant les compétences que les stagiaires emploient avec les patients pendant leur première année d'entraînement clinique. Les défis de la recherche dans ce domaine, les limitations de l'étude et les perspectives actuelles pour les études futures sont discutées.

Aims: The aims of this research were to explore significant client-identified disclosures that occurred in therapy; specifically, (a) to understand the context, or the factors that contributed to the disclosures, (b) to investigate the process of the disclosure event itself and (c) to track the effects of the disclosure to the end of therapy and beyond. Method: This investigation consisted of a pilot study and a principal study, consisting of six clients who were each interviewed about one significant disclosure that they identified in a session of therapy. The data from both studies were analysed using Comprehensive Process Analysis (CPA), a discoveryoriented, interpretive method. A cross-analysis was then carried out to identify themes, followed by a frequency analysis; finally, an expectancy analysis was carried out to investigate the possible effects of researcher bias. Results: All the clients in the principal study planned to disclose in advance. Although the allian ce was a factor, significant disclosures were not necessarily associated with the presence of a warm, close bond with the therapist. Female clients, older than the therapist, disclosed despite doubts. Important disclosures were generally marked by the client's hesitant, tentative speech and a deepening of experience at one minute after the event. Clients experienced disclosing as helpful, especially when this was recognised by the therapist, as it was the first step to assimilating puzzling and painful material; discussion of the significance of the disclosed material helped progress in therapy. The significance and helpfulness of the disclosures appeared to last over time. Implications for practice: This study provides initial evidence that clients are active in planning disclosures in therapy; therapists may facilitate such disclosures by an awareness of discourse markers, such as hesitant speech, and by attending to covert processes, as well as recognising and acknowledging when a client makes a significant disclosure.

The role of clients' emotional engagement has progressively played a central role in psychotherapy. This project inserts itself in this debate by seeking to validate the Client Modes of Engagement (CME) theoretical model (Elliott 2006; 2013a). While Elliott's CME framework—a process-diagnostic map based on clients' experiential content—was grounded on decades of research and clinical practice, it had yet to be made amenable to empirical investigation. This project responds to this absence by offering the Client Modes of Engagement Observational Coding System (CME-OCS) and the Client Modes of Engagement Questionnaire (CMEQ-R2). These instruments measure the construct from both the perspective of external observers (CME-OCS) and therapists (CMEQ-R2). This dissertation explores the application and validation process for both the CME-OCS and the CMEQ-R2. The results confirmed that the CME-OCS is a reliable coding system for identifying CMEs during EFT psychotherapy. Additionally, the findings suggest that there are interactions between CMEs, phases of therapy, and outcome groups. Moreover, I established that there are differences in the ways outcome groups' transition between CMEs at particular stages of therapy. I applied both classical psychometric properties methods and Rasch modelling with the purpose of examining the CMEQ-R2's psychometrics, refining the instrument, and later applying it in a process outcome study. The results suggest that levels of CME early in therapy and changes in levels of CME over therapy-as measured by the CMEQ-R2-”are significantly associated with client pre-post therapeutic improvement. I also found firm ground for arguing that therapists can distinguish between levels of CMEs and that their perspective can be systematically analysed. Together, both instruments pose important implications for research and clinical practice. Overall, this study validates the contention that researchers and therapists should be particularly attentive to clients' manner of engagement and focus of attention on specific levels of their emotion scheme.

Nuestro público objetivo son hombres de Lima Metropolitana que residen en las Zonas 6 y 7, del NSE A y B, entre 18 y 55 años de edad, un segmento de mercado con gran potencial debido a su estilo de vida (Sofisticado y Progresista). Realizamos un análisis interno y externo de Gol App para conocer la situación actual de la empresa y del entorno. Nuestra ventaja competitiva es que el aplicativo contará con un sistema de geolocalización, que ayudará a conectar a individuos que desean unirse a un equipo, y a equipos que necesitan completar su número de jugadores, funciones que nuestro público objetivo valora y está dispuesto a pagar por ella. La metodología de investigación realizada fue de tipo cualitativa mediante el método exploratorio y usamos como herramienta entrevistas a profundidad. Posteriormente, utilizamos el método Pitch para validar la hipótesis solución y obtuvimos un ratio de conversión del 49.09% durante la etapa de lanzamiento del landing page, por lo que decidimos perseverar con la idea de negocio. En los capítulos del 5 al 7, hablamos en profundidad sobre cada área vital de la empresa: Ventas y Marketing, Operaciones y Recursos Humanos. Hemos identificado nuestro mercado operativo, posicionamiento de Gol App, políticas de calidad, estructura organizacional, entre otros puntos importantes. Finalmente, el último capítulo, Plan Económico-Financiero, nos permitió confirmar la viabilidad del proyecto, al demostrar que es rentable y sostenible en el tiempo.
Gol App is a mobile app created to make the process of organizing soccer matches easier and simple. Our main goal is to bring together and connect soccer players. Our main target customers are men between 18 and 55 years old, who live in Metropolitan Lima in geographical zones 6 and 7 and whose socioeconomic status is A and B. This is a segment with great growth potential due to its life style, Progressive and Sophisticated. We have analyzed Gol App internally and externally, in order to assess the current situation of the company and its environment. Our competitive advantage is that the app will feature a geolocation system, which will enable individuals to be connected with incomplete soccer teams looking for a teammate, as well as soccer teams looking for new team members. These functionalities are valuable to our target customers, who are willing to pay for them. We performed an exploratory qualitative investigation through in-depth interviews. Then, we created a landing page as a sales pitch to validate our solution hypothesis. We obtained a 49.09% conversion rate, reason why we decided to persevere with our business idea. In chapters 5 to 7, we have described in detail each vital area in the company: Sales & Marketing, Operations and Human Resources. We have identified our operating market, Gol App’s market position, quality policy, organizational structure, among other important key points. Finally, the Economic-Financial Plan chapter allowed us to confirm the viability of the project, as we were able to demonstrate it is profitable and sustainable over time.

The purpose of this research was to evaluate the Capuchin API launched by Sony Ericsson at Lund, Sweden in 2008. The Capuchin API bridges Adobe’s Flash graphics and effects with JSR support from Java ME. We evaluated Capuchin API with regard to its suitability for a Mobile TV application. We tested this API in Ericsson’s TV lab where we had access to live TV streams and online multimedia resources by implementing a Mobile TV client. This test application was named “Min TV”, in English: “My TV”. Using Capuchin in the Ericsson TV lab environment has shown that it has some benefits, but also has many drawbacks. The Flash developer can be used to create an animated user interface and Java developers can do complex programming. At this early stage Capuchin technology is not mature enough, nor is it suitable for Mobile TV client development. Only after Sony Ericsson adds features such as soft keys, easier debugging of Flash Lite standalone applications, test emulator support in the software development kit, and more data communication methods than string and number, only then it will be a suitable technology for Mobile TV applications. Ericsson’s current Mobile TV application client was built using a framework called ECAF, which supports a graphics frontend and Java ME as backend. We compared ECAF and Min TV with respect to parameters such as: flexibility, performance, memory footprint, code size, and cost of skinning. (All these parameters are explained in detail in the methodology chapter.) As a possible future technology for Mobile TV, we evaluated a number of different presentation/graphics technologies including HECL, SVG Tiny, MIDP 3.0, .NET Compact Framework, etc. Moreover, we examed if a pure Flash Lite client application is a viable solution for Mobile TV. The comparison of different presentation technologies showed that Java ME is a comprehensive platform for mobile development offering all the necessary support from third party graphical user interface makers. .NET CF also looks like a good option for development with the scaled down capabilities for different programming languages supported using CLR.

Lo scopo di questo lavoro di tesi è quello di proporre un nuovo ed innovativo sistema di smart retail. In particolare, questo sistema, cerca di sostituirsi alla figura del commesso, migliorando l’esperienza offerta da quest’ultimo, e lo fa analizzando le caratteristiche e le espressioni facciali dei clienti. Caratteristiche come l’età, il sesso, gli stati d’animo, la direzione della testa, della vista e la posizione del cliente. Grazie a una telecamera montata su un raspberry pi, viene fatto la profilazione degli utenti che si trovano davanti la telecamera, ogni secondo. Utilizzando il riconoscimento facciale ed emotivo, si individua l’età, il sesso e anche le preferenze del cliente analizzando i suoi stati d’animo. Abbiamo creato un applicazione android, ad hoc, che utilizza almeno 3 beacon bluetooth low energy per individuare la posizione indoor del cliente, grazie alla tecnica della trilaterazione, e calcola la percentuale di acquisto del cliente sugli oggetti che quest’ultimo osserva. E stato utilizzato l’algoritmo di classificazione Naive Bayes per calcolare la percentuale di acquisto del cliente. Il sistema tiene conto anche delle caratteristiche dei clienti che hanno acquistato in passato, e propone delle eventuali offerte o sconti, sull’articolo interessato, qualora queste dovessero convincere il cliente ad acquistare l’articolo. Il sistema proposto migliora le esperienze di shopping dei consumatori ma porta anche numerosi vantaggi ai rivenditori poichè offre una migliore gestione aziendale, riduce i cosi del rivenditore e, infine, porta una maggiore redditività aziendale. Questo sistema è stato pensato per qualsiasi tipo di attività commerciale, sia virtuale che fisica.

La idea de negocio que estamos proponiendo es la comercialización de soporte en servicios y productos para madres gestantes mediante una aplicación desde donde podrán estar pendientes del bienestar de su bebe y a la vez contar con la opción de acceder a una sección premium de compra de productos complementarios tanto para el bebé como para la madre así como consultas con médicos especialistas en la segunda fase de desarrollo del negocio. En principio se iniciará con la sección de información básica y elemental para toda mama, se publicaran artículos con temas relacionados de interés para este público no atendido , así tendrán orientación y soporte en todo momento. Agu app les ofrecerá un conglomerado de utilidades que en general se puedan encontrar de manera dispersa en distintas aplicaciones, esto hará de Agu app la plataforma favorita por las mamas, con nuestra app contaran con un GPS que les indicará el centro de salud más cercano a su ubicación en caso alguna se encuentre en una situación de peligro. Estamos seguras que tendrá rotundo éxito. En principio debo decirles que la ventaja de nuestro app AGU encierra las principales necesidades con una solución que ofrece todo lo que las gestantes necesitan saber sobre alimentación, ejercicios, vestimenta, estimulación pre y post natal, preparación para el parto, lactancia y acompañamiento durante los primeros meses del bebé y la opción Premium de acceder a consultas con médicos especialistas en servicios complementarios como nutrición; para llevar con cuidado la dieta de la mami, psicológico para situaciones en las que la mamá quiera alguna orientación o sencillamente compartir sus temores .

Today’s massive usage of smartphones has put a high demand on all application developers in the matter of security. For us to be able to keep using all existing and new applications, a process that removes significant security vulnerabilities is essential. To remove these vulnerabilities, the applications have to be tested. In this thesis, we identify six methods for functional and security testing of client-server applications running Android and Python Flask. Regarding functional testing, we implement Espresso testing and RESTful API testing. In regards to the security testing of the system, we do not only implement fuzz testing, sniffing, reverse engineering and SQL injection testing on a system developed by a student group in a parallel project, but also discover a significant security vulnerability that directly affects the integrity and reliability of this system. Out of the six identified testing techniques, reverse engineering exposed the vulnerability. In conjunction with this, we verified that the system’s functionality works as it is supposed to.

Cette recherche exploratoire s’articule autour du concept d’expérience client et de sa mémorisation dans le contexte de la restauration gastronomique, spécifiquement dans les restaurants des Grands Chefs Relais & Châteaux. Cette thèse a pour objectif de comprendre ce qui constitue une expérience de repas gastronomique via l’étude des éléments mémorisés par les clients. Un dispositif méthodologique en trois temps est mis en place : deux phases d’entretiens qualitatifs (n=65) et une phase quantitative (questionnaire administré en ligne, n=1855). Les échantillons sont structurés autour du critère de langue (francophone, anglophone et germanophone) et de la fréquence de consommation. L’analyse des données collectées permet de dégager d’une part les rubriques qui composent l’expérience mémorisée par les clients, d’autre part de mesurer l’influence de la familiarité individuelle sur l’interprétation des composantes de l’expérience de repas. Ce travail aboutit à l’élaboration d’un outil opérationnel à destination des Grands Chefs et des managers de restaurants
This research is integrated into the guest experience concept and its memorization in the area of Grands Chefs Relais & Châteaux’ restaurants. This thesis aims to understand the constitution of a gourmet meal experience according to guests’ memories. A three-step methodological approach is set up: a double qualitative phase (interviews, n=65) and a quantitative phase (on-line questionnaire, n=1855). Samples are structured regarding languages (French, English and German) and consumption frequency. Data analysis permits to identify categories describing a meal experience as memorized by guests, and to measure the influence of individual familiarity on the interpretation of experiential components. This work leads to the elaboration of an operational tool dedicated to Grands Chefs and restaurant managers

A lot of information nowadays is made available through Web APIs on the Internet and without security and encryption; it is very easy for malicious users to access confidential information. The goal was to find out what different mechanisms that are available for providing a safe communication with a web API from web clients and mobile applications with little as possible impact on the performance. Learning, implementing and maintaining the mechanisms are also im- portant aspects looked at in the evaluation. Many mechanisms are available for use to secure the communication but not all are suitable for public clients. The suitable mechanisms are Digest authentication and OAuth 2.0. The chosen mechanisms were developed, tested and evaluated in regard to safety, performance impact and usabil- ity from a company perspective. The authentication and authorization mechanism, which was the most suitable, was OAuth 2.0as it has least impact on performance and better security features than the other mechanisms.
Mycket information finns numera tillgänglig via Web API:er på Internet och utan säkerhet och kryptering är det mycket lätt att illvilliga personer får tillgång till konfidentiellinformation. Målet är att ta reda på vilka olika säkerhetsmekanismer som finns tillgängliga för att tillhandahålla en säker kommunikation med ett Web API från webbklienter och mobila applikationer med så liten påverkan på prestanda. Kunskapsinhämtning, utveckling och underhållandet av lösningar är också viktiga aspeketer som tittats på vid utvärderingen av mekanismerna. Flera mekanismer finns att använda sig av för att säkra kommunkationen men de lämpliga mekanismerna för publika klienter är Digest Authentication och OAuth 2.0. De utvalda mekanismerna har utvecklats, testats, utvärderats med avseende på säkerhet, påverkan på prestanda och användbarhet utifrån ett företags perspektiv. Autentiserings- och behörighets-mekanismen som blev den utvalda var OAuth 2.0 då den har minst påverkan på prestandan och bättre säkerhets egenskaper än de andra mekanismerna.
