The theory includes the new concepts, such as the basic geared kinematic chain, the compound union and the type code etc., the new constitution principle of geared linkage kinematic chains and four new theorems that are essential for type synthesis of geared linkage kinematic chains. One typical example and its results of the type synthesis are also given. It is proved that the compound union theory and method is systematic, strict, simple, practical and efficient.

Анотація:

Over the past twenty years, computer-based simulation codes have emerged as the leading tools to assess risks of severe events such as fire. The results of such simulation codes are usually used to estimate the magnitude, frequency and consequence of hazards. A typical simulation program/model utilizes many different sub-models, each characterizing a physical or chemical process contributing to exposure of the hazard or occurrence of certain adverse failure events. The final prediction made by such simulation codes can be temporal, spatial or just a single estimate for the measure of interest.

We present a numerical procedure to predict impact-related wave-induced (slamming) loads on ships. The procedure was applied to predict slamming loads on two ships that feature a flared bow with a pronounced bulb, hull shapes typical of modern offshore supply vessels.
