Повний текст джерелаThis thesis reports the experimental kinetic study of the gas phase reactions of atmospheric and astrophysical interests. The knowledge of the reactions rate constants is useful to understand the mechanisms of formation and destruction of molecules in the Earth’s atmosphere and in the interstellar medium. On the atmospheric side, we have studied the reactions of a series of hydroxyketones (4-hydroxy-2-butanone, 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-2-butanone and 4-hydroxy-4-methyl-2-pentanone), a large category of hydroxycarbonyls with OH radicals and chlorine atoms Cl in order to determine their atmospheric fate. We have measured the absolute rate constants of the reactions of hydroxyketones with OH radicals by using the cryogenic cell coupled to PLP-LIF technique (Pulsed Laser Photolysis - Laser Induced Fluorescence) at room temperature and as function of pressure. The relative rate constants of the reactions of the compounds investigated with Cl atoms were measured at room temperature and atmospheric pressure by using the atmospheric simulation chamber coupled to the analytical detection techniques: FTIR and GC-MS. In addition, a mechanistic study was also conducted in order to identify and quantify the products formed from these reactions. The whole results are discussed in order to assess the atmospheric implications of these hydroxyketones (lifetimes and environmental impact). On the astrophysical side, the kinetic of the reactions involving CN radical and a series of nitrogen-containing molecules (methylamine, dimethylamine, trimethylamine and acetonitrile) was studied over a wide range of temperature (23 K - 354 K) using CRESU technique (a French acronym standing for Cinétique de Réaction en Ecoulement Supersonique Uniforme) and the cryogenic cell coupled to the detection technique PLP-LIF. These experimental studies were accompanied by theoretical studies to better understand the reaction mechanisms. Possible astrophysical implications of the whole results have been discussed in this study

Повний текст джерелаDeux ICP-MS de conception différente, l'ICP-MS Quadripolaire X7 (Thermo-Fisher Scientific) et l'ICP-MS Multi-Collection Isoprobe (GV Instruments), sont utilisés dans cette étude. Les conditions expérimentales, existant dans la cellule de collision-réaction de chacun de ces deux instruments, sont déterminées en fonction des paramètres instrumentaux. Cette étude préliminaire est ensuite mise à profit dans le cadre de la résolution de deux interférences, caractéristiques au domaine du nucléaire. Une approche théorique par calculs de chimie quantique permet d'interpréter la formation des oxydes de zirconium, responsable de la suppression de l'ion interférent 90Zr+, suite à l'utilisation d'O2 dans la cellule de collision-réaction pour permettre la mesure du radionucélide 90Sr. Le cas de la réactivité de cinq cations lanthanides (Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy) avec plusieurs gaz (O2, N2O, CO2, NH3) est par ailleurs étudié expérimentalement. L'efficacité de l'ammoniaque pour résoudre les interférences isobariques Eu/Gd est mise en évidence. Une périodicité de la réactivité sur la série des lanthanides, due à la configuration électronique de l'état fondamental des cations Ln+, est proposée pour expliquer les différences de comportements observées.

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis presents a series of developments aimed to perform resonance-ionization laser spectroscopy on short-lived isotopes produced by the Super Separator Spectrometer (S³) of SPIRAL2 at GANIL and stopped in the gas cell of its Low Energy Branch (S³-LEB). This research focuses on two topics. Firstly, off-line laser spectroscopy measurements were performed on stable isotopes of erbium, the element of choice for the on-line commissioning of S³-LEB. These measurements were performed using the full S³-LEB setup along with the range of available Ti:sa laser systems, representing a proof of principle of the entire apparatus. To identify the optimal scheme for the forthcoming on-line experiments, different atomic transitions were studied by laser spectroscopy in the gas cell and in the gas jet. Isotope shifts were determined for the excitation and ionization steps. Field and mass-shift factors for the excitation steps were extracted from the isotope-shift data using King-plot analysis, and the associated experimental uncertainties in the two factors were discussed. Saturation-power measurements were carried out and the pressure broadening and shift coefficients were determined in the gas-cell environment. Additionally, hyperfine coefficients for the first excited state of the 408.8 nm transition were extracted from the high-resolution gas-jet spectroscopy with a spectral resolution of around 200 MHz. The 408.8 nm transition of erbium is proposed as a suitable candidate for day-one experiments at S³. Secondly, simulations were performed to develop a future generation of the S³-LEB gas cell optimized for the study of short-lived isotopes, featuring a reduced extraction time and using a universal neutralization mechanism. In this gas cell, fast ion extraction is achieved through a combination of electrical field and gas flow. Simulations were performed with the state-of-the-art software for capturing the multiphysics aspect, including the gas flow, the electrostatic field, the ion transport in high pressure and the dynamics of electrons generated by the ionization of the gas. Based on these simulations, an optimized gas-cell prototype has been designed, taking into account the extraction time, the efficiency, as well as the time available for neutralization

Повний текст джерелаOur work consists in developing a global bio-assay to evaluate on-line waste incineration stack gas quality. Total stack gases (gas, aerosols, particles) are sampled from the inside of the stack and flow down into an exposure chamber. Alveolar macrophage-like cells from the THP-1 monocyte strain are prepared in culture dishes that allow their contact with an atmosphere. They are maintain in close contact with incineration stack gases in the exposure chamber providing to the cell culture an humidified 37°C-regulated atmosphere, and react to the global stack gas quality. Using the comparison of exposed cells to blank cells kept in clean air, one can attribute a cytotoxicity rate to the gases. Acolorimetric method gives cell viability : yellow tetrazolium MTT salt solution is reduced into a formazan blue salt by only cells. The lower the rate, the better the quality of the stack gases. Our work shows that : testing the bio-assay on simple gases is essential in order its sensitivity to polluants which may be present in the atmosphere ; the cell response in well correlated with NO2, SO2 or HCl concentration ; cells cultured on membranes on which stack gas dusts were collected show high cytotoxicity rates ; hence the stack gas sampling must preserve dusts transported by the gases from the source tested to the reactive cells ; the cytotoxicity index is related to NO, CO, SO2 and HCl concentrations measured in stack gases, even weakly ; in addition, the index seems to be also sensitive to micropollutants which are not measured here. This global bio-assay may be a good complement to the routine controls performed on stack gases, for it can detect pollutants that physical and chemical controls does even not measure

Повний текст джерелаHigh Temperature Steam Electrolysis (HTSE) is a promising technology for hydrogen production, leading candidate as future fuel. However, massive hydrogen production remains difficult considering the fast performance degradation of solid oxide electrolyser cells (SOEC) mainly due to extreme experimental conditions (high working temperature (700-1000°C), oxidising atmosphere, high current density). In these conditions, degradation is due to reactivity between SOEC components, evolution of their microstructure and internal stresses emphasized by temperature and gas composition gradients. This work is dedicated to the study of the influence of the gaseous environment on electrochemical performance on SOEC in HTSE mode and to the development of a homogeneous method for gas distribution over the SOEC surface to enable a more uniform cells operation and limit internal stresses. Commercial electrolyte supported cells are studied (Ni/CGO–3YSZ–LSM/YSZ). First to start with, the SOEC electrochemical behaviour is studied with a traditional experimental set-up. Electrochemical characterisations are carried out in situ through chronopotentiometry and impedance spectroscopy. Secondly, new specific experimental sets-up were developed in order to vary the homogeneity of the gas distribution over the hydrogen electrode. To finish with, the influence of the gas distribution method has been studied on the initial electrochemical behaviour and then on the SOEC durability
