Composite sandwich structures are being used in the automotive and aerospace industries at an increasing rate due to their high strength and stiffness per unit weight. Many teams in the world’s largest engineering competition for students, Formula Student, have embraced these types of structures and are using them in their chassis with the intent of increasing the torsional stiffness per unit weight. The Formula Student team at Karlstad University, Clear River Racing, has since 2017 successfully built three carbon fiber based sandwich structure chassis. A big challenge when designing this type of chassis is the lack of strategy regarding torsional stiffness simulations. Thus, the goal of this thesis project was to provide the organization with a set of accurate yet relatively simple methods of modelling and simulating the torsional stiffness of the chassis. The first step in achieving the goal of the thesis was the implementation of simplifications to the material model. These simplifications were mainly targeted towards the aluminum honeycomb core. In order to cut computational times and reduce complexity, a continuum model with orthotropic material properties was used instead of the intricate cellular structure of the core. To validate the accuracy of this simplification, the in-plane elastic modulus of the core was simulated in the finite element software Abaqus. The stiffness obtained through simulations was 0.44 % larger than the theoretical value. The conclusion was therefore made that the orthotropic continuum model was an accurate and effective representation of the core. Furthermore, simplifications regarding the adhesive film in the core-carbon fiber interfaces were made by using constraints in Abaqus instead of modelling the adhesive films as individual parts. To validate this simplification and the overall material model for the sandwich structure, a three-point bend test was simulated in Abaqus and conducted physically. The stiffness for the sandwich panel obtained through physical testing was 2.4 % larger than the simulated stiffness. The conclusion was made that the simplifications in the material modelling did not affect the accuracy in a significant way. Finally, the torsional stiffness of the 2020 CFRP chassis was found to be 12409.75 Nm/degree. In addition to evaluating previously mentioned simplifications, this thesis also serves as a comprehensive guide on how the modelling of the chassis and how the three-point bend test can take place in regards to boundary conditions, coordinate system assignments and layup definitions.

This thesis is concerned with a calculation analysis of a frame construction for Formula Student. The Base design of this construction is modeled in computer program ProEngineer. In next step the model is transfered to calculation software Ansys. The analysis is made by finite element method in torion and bend there. The calculation of torsional stiffness is made of resultant values. Finally, the results are compared with previous frame versions.

This thesis presents a new algorithm to compute the probability that a state in a labeled Markov chain model satisfies an LTL specification. A solution to this problem was given by Courcoubetis & Yannakakis in 1995, but unlike their solution the algorithm presented here requires no transformations of the input model. This advantage may be significant because of the large models which occur in most practical verification problems. The new algorithm is proved correct and shown to be not worse than doubly exponential in the size of the formula and cubic in the size of the model. However limited experimental results suggest that these bounds are pessimistic and that with further optimization the algorithm might approach the efficiency of current model checkers, which compute only true or false rather than an exact probability. I also include a working Java implementation, MCMC, and a proof that for any plausible path P followed by a Markov chain and any LTL formula Φ, some finite prefix of P determines whether P satisfies Φ.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the current situation in valuation of restoration works during construction work, and then to define and standardize the construction work of stone during the restoration of immovable historical monuments. The dissertation moves further knowledge about the issue of restoration work valuation and brings benefits at both theoretical and practical level. In the first part thesis deals with the detailed definition of basic terms, namely restoration, cultural heritage, calculations and costs. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to international comparisons of the historical monuments care in the Czech Republic and France. The result is a comparison of selected indicators of historical monuments care in the Czech Republic and France. Further the attention in the second part is devoted to the pricing development and standardization in construction and restoration, as well as to the pricing of construction work. The third part of the thesis is dedicated to the actual research work, which is focused on the methodology of determining the price of stone construction work in the restoration of the historical buildings. Based on the results of the research there are presented conclusions and proposals of solutions to the existing issue. It is primarily about defining the scope of the building technical documentation with respect to the requirements of restoration, defining direct and indirect costs and profits of construction work of stone in the restoration of historical buildings. At the end of this section there are defined conclusions from the research, which summarize the determination of price list and its description. An integral part of this dissertation is a proposal for the further development and possible solutions of this specific issue.

Accurate electronic structure calculations are becoming more and more important because of the increasing need for information about systems which are hard to perform experiments on. Databases compiled from theoretical results are also being used more than ever for applications, and the reliability of the theoretical methods are of utmost importance. In this thesis, the present limits on theoretical alloy calculations are investigated and improvements on the methods are presented. A short introduction to electronic structure theory is included as well as a chapter on Density Functional Theory, which is the underlying method behind all calculations presented in the accompanying papers. Multiple Scattering Theory is also discussed, both in more general terms as well as how it is used in the methods employed to solve the electronic structure problem. One of the methods, the Exact Muffin-Tin Orbital method, is described extensively, with special emphasis on the slope matrix, which energy dependence is investigated together with possible ways to parameterize this dependence. Furthermore, a chapter which discusses different ways to perform calculations for disordered systems is presented, including a description of the Coherent Potential Approximation and the Screened Generalized Perturbation Method. A comparison between the Exact Muffin-Tin Orbital method and the Projector Augmented-Wave method in the case of systems exhibiting both compositional and magnetic disordered is included as well as a case study of the MoRu alloy, where the theoretical and experimental discrepancies are discussed. The thesis is concluded with a short discussion on magnetism, with emphasis on its computational aspects. I further discuss a generalized Heisenberg model and its applications, especially to fcc Fe, and also present an investigation of the competing magnetic structures of FeNi alloys at different concentrations, where both collinear and non-collinear magnetic structures are included. For Invar-concentrations, a spin-flip transition is found and discussed. Lastly, I discuss so-called quantum corrals and possible ways of calculating properties, especially non-collinear magnetism, of such systems within perturbation theory using the force theorem and the Lloyd’s formula.

Dans cette thèse nous développons une théorie générale pour prouver l’existence de plusieurs formules de Itô sur l’équation de chaleur stochastique unidimensionnelle dirigée par un bruit blanc en espace-temps. Cela revient a définir de nouvelles notions d’intégrales stochastique sur u, la solution de cette EDPS et à obtenir pour toute fonction assez lisse f des nouvelles identités impliquant f(u) et des termes de correction non triviaux. Ces nouvelles relations sont obtenues en utilisant la théorie des structures de régularité et la théorie des chemins rugueux. Dans le premier chapitre nous obtenons une identité intégrale et une différentielle impliquant la reconstruction de certaines distributions modélisées. Ensuite, nous discutons d’une formule générale de changement de variable pour tout chemins Hölderiens dans le contexte des chemins rugueux en le rapportant à la notion d’algèbres quasi-shuffle et à la famille des chemins rugueux dits quasi-géométriques. Enfin nous appliquons les résultats généraux sur les chemins rugueux quasi-géométriques à l’évolution temporelle du processus u. En utilisant le comportement gaussien de u, nous identifions la plupart des termes impliqués dans ces équations avec certaines constructions du calcul stochastiqueIn this thesis we develop a general theory to prove the existence of several Itô formulae on the one dimensional stochastic heat equation driven by additive space-time white noise. That is denoting by u the solution of this SPDE for any smooth enough function f we define some new notions of stochastic integrals defined upon u, which cannot be defined classically, in order to deduce new identities involving f(u) and some non trivial corrections. These new relations are obtained by using the theory of regularity structures and the theory of rough paths. In the first chapter we obtain a differential and an integral identity involving the reconstruction of some modelled distributions. Then we discuss a general change of variable formula over any Hölder continuous path in the context of rough paths, relating it to the notion of quasi-shuffle algebras and the family of so called quasi-geometric rough paths. Finally we apply the general results on quasi-geometric rough paths to the time evolution of u. Using the Gaussian behaviour of the process u, most of the terms involved in these equations are also identified with some classical constructions of stochastic calculus

This diploma thesis is describing the theme of price development of construction work on the railway superstructure. The result is meant as determination of technical-economic indicator which can be used in view of pricing mainly for public tenders as well as in the way of orientation at cost prices. The work is also engaged in production index for construction. The main meaning of this part is formed by comparing the dates of the Czech Statistical Office in the production of building and civil engineering in the Czech Republic between years of 2009 and 2015 with the production of railways constructions. As the railroad tracks are in corporate governance SŽDC state organization – whole planned construction works are controlled by conditions and rules of public tenders. After joining the Czech Republic into the European Union the requirements for optimal state of international transportation networks in their technical and social part had to be guaranteed. The thesis „The Development of the Price Level in Railway Deliveries“ includes topic of progressing of Czech economy, development of Czech and foreign markets and its influence on material deliveries and price fluctuations, pricing and costing. Mestrado em FinançasEste trabalho tem como objectivo mostrar o impacto das sucessivas alterações da fórmula de cálculo das pensões na taxa de substituição de cinco carreiras contributivas diferentes, as quais estão divididas por sua vez em três níveis salariais de forma a tornar o trabalho mais representativo da realidade. Para tal recorre-se aos Decretos-Lei: DL 329/1993 de 25 de Setembro, DL 35/2002 de 19 de Fevereiro e ao DL 187/2007 de 10 de Maio para perceber em que consistiram essas alterações. Após terem sido efectuadas essas simulações, conclui-se que as taxas de substituição tendem a diminuir à medida que o salário aumenta.
This paperwork has the objective of showing the impact of the successive changes to the pension’s calculation formula on the replacement rate of five different contributive careers, which are themselves divided on three salary levels to make this work a better representative of reality. To do so it refers to the Decree-law: DL 329/1993 of 25 September, DL 35/2002 of 19 February and to DL 187/2007 of 10 May to understand on what those changes consisted in. After the simulations have been done, it was concluded that the replacement rate tend to decrease as the salary increases.

Les calculs d'équilibres à triphasiques et quadriphasiques sont au cœur des simulations de réservoirs impliquant des processus de récupérations tertiaires. Dans les procédés d'injection de gaz ou de vapeur, le système huile-gaz est enrichi d'une nouvelle phase qui joue un rôle important dans la récupération de l'huile en place. Les calculs d'équilibres représentent la majeure partie des temps de calculs dans les simulations de réservoir compositionnelles où les routines thermodynamiques sont appelées un nombre conséquent de fois. Il est donc important de concevoir des algorithmes qui soient fiables, robustes et rapides. Dans la littérature peu de simulateurs basés sur des équations d'état sont applicables aux procédés de récupération thermique. A notre connaissance, il n'existe pas de simulation thermique complètement compositionnelle de ces procédés pour des cas d'applications aux huiles lourdes. Ces simulations apparaissent essentielles et pourraient offrir des outils améliorés pour l’étude prédictive de certains champs. Dans cette thèse, des algorithmes robustes et efficaces de calculs d’équilibre multiphasiques sont proposés permettant de surmonter les difficultés rencontrés durant les simulations d'injection de vapeur pour des huiles lourdes. La plupart des algorithmes d'équilibre de phases sont basés sur la méthode de Newton et utilisent les variables conventionnelles comme variables indépendantes. Dans un premier temps, des améliorations de ces algorithmes sont proposées. Les variables réduites permettent de réduire la dimensionnalité du système de nc (nombre de composants) dans le cas des variables conventionnelles, à M (M<Three to four phase equilibrium calculations are in the heart of tertiary recovery simulations. In gas/steam injection processes, additional phases emerging from the oil-gas system are added to the set and have a significant impact on the oil recovery. The most important computational effort in many chemical process simulators and in petroleum compositional reservoir simulations is required by phase equilibrium and thermodynamic property calculations. In field scale reservoir simulations, a huge number of phase equilibrium calculations is required. For all these reasons, the algorithms must be robust and time-saving. In the literature, few simulators based on equations of state (EoS) are applicable to thermal recovery processes such as steam injection. To the best of our knowledge, no fully compositional thermal simulation of the steam injection process has been proposed with extra-heavy oils; these simulations are essential and will offer improved tools for predictive studies of the heavy oil fields. Thus, in this thesis different algorithms of improved efficiency and robustness for multiphase equilibrium calculations are proposed, able to handle conditions encountered during the simulation of steam injection for heavy oil mixtures. Most of the phase equilibrium calculations are based on the Newton method and use conventional independent variables. These algorithms are first investigated and different improvements are proposed. Michelsen’s (Fluid Phase Equil. 9 (1982) 21-40) method for multiphase-split problems is modified to take full advantage of symmetry (in the construction of the Jacobian matrix and the resolution of the linear system). In the notebook pivot mechanism, there is a disc spring and a cam mechanism, wherein the force generated by the disc spring can support the concave cam follower, and the mechanism can be concave between the elastic force of the disc spring and the concave cam The slot has a fixed effect on the pen panel. The disc springs of different outer diameters and plate thicknesses also have different elastic forces, thus affecting the fixing strength. The main research direction of this thesis is to design the torque formula of the pen electric pivot mechanism, use the various types of disc springs to verify the feasibility of the torque formula, and establish a set of torsion empirical formula system. In this study, the disc spring of diameter 6mm is tested for the thickness of the disc spring according to its thickness. The spring constant of each type of disc spring is tested by the MTS test machine, which is convenient for the design of the torsion formula. Because the pivot mechanism is in the process of designing the torque formula. It is too complicated, so the four disc springs are arranged in series and mounted on the pivot. The torque indicator is used to test the pivot torque. The torque test of the pivotless cam and the concave cam are respectively performed. The result is based on the relationship between the torque and the displacement and the curve is compared to the error. Finally, using the experimental data of each type of disc spring, a set of torsion empirical formula system can be established, which can be applied to the selection of disc spring elements inside the pen electric pivot mechanism. The data obtained in this study will be input with the disc spring parameters of each model, the number of contact surfaces and the displacement. According to the load of the pen armature design, please refer to this paper to study the torsion empirical formula system to quickly find the appropriate one. The notebook pivot mechanism is a combination of several torsion plates, pivots, fixing plates, support frames and nuts. The main core of the pivotal structure is that the torsion piece and the pivot are interference fit, and the frictional force of the inner hole and the pivotal contact surface of the torsion piece is generated by the rotation. The main research direction of this thesis is that the axial hole interference formula combined with the torsion formula is the main axis. By using the torque test as the verification method, a set of torsion empirical formula system is finally established. In this study, for the analysis of torsion film, the SolidWorks 2017 Simulation system is used to analyze the displacement and the axis hole interference formula to input relevant parameters, and the error comparison is used to improve the reliability. Since the actual torsion piece opening is 60 degrees, it is necessary to analyze the displacement state of each opening angle by analysis and replace the pressure caused by the same displacement, and then multiply the pressure value of each angle with the pressure value without the opening angle. In order to use the formula, it can be converted into a torque or pressure value at the required angle. Torque sheets of different materials are used to match the pivots of the same material. By combining the change of the interference amount and the number of different torsion pieces, the torque test is performed to compare the measured data with the torsion empirical formula. Finally, a set of torsion empirical formula system is established. The system can be used to input the required design parameters to obtain the torque value as a reference, so as to achieve the effect of quickly selecting design parameters.

The problem of calculating iso-surface statistics in turbulent flows is interesting for a number of reasons, some of them being combustion modeling, entrainment through turbulent/non-turbulent interfaces, calculating mass flux through iso-scalar surfaces and mapping of scalar fields. A fundamental effect of fuid turbulence is to wrinkle scalar iso-surfaces. A review of the literature shows that iso-surface calculations have primarily been done with geometric methods, which have challenges when used to calculate surfaces that have high complexity, such as in turbulent flows. In this thesis, we propose an alternative integral method and test it against analytical solutions. We present a parallelized algorithm and code to enable in-simulation calculation of isosurface area. We then use this code to calculate area statistics for data obtained from Direct Numerical Simulations and make predictions about the variation of the iso-scalar surface area with Taylor Peclet numbers between 9.8 and 4429 and Taylor Reynolds numbers between 98 and 633.

As generally recognized, the main drawback of a fully-digitalized power-factor- correction (PFC) converter is that too many analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are used, and hence the corresponding cost is high. Therefore, in this thesis, the information on the required signal is obtained via two paired saw-toothed waves compared with the sensed signal, without any ADC used. For the PFC applications, two proposed formulas used to figure out the average current, together with the strategy for changing sampling points, are applied to accurately sampling the average input current of the PFC converter. At the same time, based on the slope value of the magnetizing inductance current obtained from the average current calculation formula, another formula used to calculate the input voltage is derived so as to obtain the input voltage information used to feed the partial feedforward controller. As for the sinusoidal reference command, it is generated by zero detection along with a sinusoid table. On the other hand, the information on the output voltage is obtained by one approximation average calculation formula. Therefore, there is no ADC required to realize fully-digitalized control of the PFC converter. Furthermore, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed sampling topology are verified by simulated and experimental results.

Η παρούσα διδακτορική διατριβή αποτελεί μια συμβολή στην ανάλυση του ηλεκτρικού πεδίου στο περιβάλλον εναέριων γραμμών απλού και διπλού κυκλώματος. Αναπτύσσονται αναλυτικές σχέσεις για τον ακριβή υπολογισμό της έντασης του ηλεκτρικού πεδίου καθώς και απλούστερες προσεγγιστικές σχέσεις. Η προτεινόμενη μέθοδος υπολογισμού προέκυψε από τον συνδυασμό της ανάλυσης των φορτίων των αγωγών σε συμμετρικές συνιστώσες, της περιγραφής της έντασης του ηλεκτρικού πεδίου με διπλούς μιγαδικούς αριθμούς και της χρήσης του αναπτύγματος πολυπόλων για την έκφραση της έντασης του ηλεκτρικού πεδίου. Με τους διπλούς μιγαδικούς αριθμούς επιτυγχάνεται η παράσταση με μιγαδικούς αριθμούς τόσο των χρονικά ημιτονοειδώς μεταβαλλόμενων μεγεθών (τάσεων και φορτίων) όσο και των γεωμετρικών αποστάσεων. Το ανάπτυγμα πολυπόλων είναι μια σειρά απείρων όρων, όπου ο κάθε επόμενος όρος είναι αντιστρόφως ανάλογος της αυξανόμενης δύναμης της απόστασης. Αναπτύσσονται επίσης ακριβείς αναλυτικές σχέσεις, καθώς και απλούστερες προσεγγιστικές σχέσεις, για τον υπολογισμό της μαγνητικής επαγωγής γραμμών διπλού κυκλώματος. Για την ανάπτυξη των σχέσεων αυτών συνδυάζεται η χρήση των διπλών μιγαδικών αριθμών με το ανάπτυγμα πολυπόλων για την έκφραση της μαγνητικής επαγωγής.This thesis is a contribution to the analysis of the electric field in the vicinity of single-circuit and double-circuit overhead power lines. Analytical formulas are developed for the accurate calculation of the intensity of the electric field as well as simpler approximate formulas. The proposed calculation method has arisen from the combination of the analysis of the conductors’ charges in their symmetrical components, the description of the intensity of the electric field using double complex numbers and the use of multipole expansions to express the intensity of the electric field. The use of double complex numbers allows the simultaneous representation of sinusoidal varying quantities (voltages and charges) and geometrical distances with complex numbers. The multipole expansion is a series of infinite terms, where each term is inversely proportional to an increasing power of the distance. Accurate analytical formulas are also developed as well as simpler approximate formulas for the calculation of the magnetic flux density produced by double-circuit lines. For the development of those formulas the use of double complex numbers is combined with the multipole expansion to express the magnetic flux density.

NoRectangular concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) may be subjected to local bearing forces transmitted from brace members while being used as a chord of a truss, and thus development of finite element analysis (FEA) and simple design calculation method for rectangular CFSTs under local bearing forces are very important to ensure the safety and reliable design of such a truss with rectangular CFST chords in engineering practices. A three-dimensional FEA model was developed using ABAQUS software package to predict the performance of thin-walled rectangular CFST under local bearing forces. The preciseness of the predicted results was evaluated by comparison with experimental results reported in the available literature. The comparison and analysis show that the predicted failure pattern, load versus deformation curves and bearing capacity of rectangular CFST under local bearing forces obtained from FEA modelling were generally in good agreement with the experimental observations. After the validation, the FEA model was adopted for the mechanism analysis of typical rectangular CFSTs under local bearing forces. Finally, based on the parametric analysis, simple design equations were proposed to be used to calculate the bearing capacity of rectangular CFST under local bearing forces.

Abstract The data of creatinine (2-Amino-1-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-ol, C4H7N3O) were collected and comparative study has been carried out based on 402 medical records of diabetes patients from an eastern teaching hospital in Taiwan during the period of January 2015 and January 2016. The for-mulas of 4-variable MDRD, IDMS-MDRD, CKD-EPI and Taiwanese MDRD were adopted to calculate the eGRF for these patients. The study showed that Taiwanese MDRD leads the other three in over-estimation in diagnosis of diabetes patients up to the number of 49, the rest ones followed the same trend with much lower numbers ranging from 25 to 29. After calibration with the best cutoff values with respect to each formula, the ROC analysis converged the differences in diagnosis within 2. This study concluded that the measures of associated medical judgements are the key for accurate diagnosis, the strict usage of formulas alone did not work out well in serving the purpose of diagnosis of diabe-tes.

This dissertation deals with financial subsidies of agricultural conduct of business. It is concentrated on evaluation of influence of financial subsidies on agricultural production in agricultural company "X" in 2009 - 2011. The theoretical part describes issues linked to agricultural production and its essential function for the society. It deals with the need of subsidies and their types and with the most important institutions providing these subsidies. This work also explains some specificities of calculation formulas in agriculture. The practical part addresses analysis of particular sections of plant production and livestock production. With the help of calculation formula the costs of these productions are established. There are compared the results of management without subsidies and with subsidies in this work. On the basis of these information some recommendations for the structure of agricultural production and the use of financial supports can be projected.

Further thesis is focus on selected performances (rape, eggs), the development costs of these performances in each year and the application of their calculations that the farm company use and application of the calculation method, which in agriculture is not so common. Here I use microeconomic knowledge in decision making firms not only on the optimal output.
