La puissance de calcul des ordinateurs PC actuels permet leur utilisation pour des travaux qui étaient, jusqu'à ces dernières années, effectués exclusivement sur de gros ordinateurs. Le mode interactif utilisé pour la gestion et la saisie des données, facilement mis en œuvre sur les PC, permet un gain de temps important par rapport au travail classique en traitement par lot (batch). Nous présentons ici un logiciel PC, permettant le calcul et l'amélioration des éléments orbitaux des comètes. Une bonne connaissance de ces éléments est indispensable pour le calcul des éphémérides, notamment pour la redécouverte des comètes périodiques.

Le projet d’innovation « Lü_Move & Learn » vise à évaluer un nouvel outil d’enseignement en éducation physique, le dispositif interactif Lü, qui s’appuie sur le principe des jeux vidéo actifs. Dans le cadre de ce projet, nous avons conçu une séquence interdisciplinaire en mathématiques et en éducation physique pour des élèves de 7-8P qui permet de répondre aux objectifs du Plan d’Etudes Romand (PER) et qui utilise le dispositif interactif Lü. Ce dispositif est censé favoriser l’engagement des élèves, via les animations qu’il propose, en combinant le plus souvent des temps de réflexion (par exemple faire un calcul mental, épeler un mot, etc.) et d’action (par exemple lancer un ballon sur une réponse possible).

L'apprentissage des mathématiques s'inscrit sur le long terme et en général dans une structure institutionnelle : l'école. L'apprenant construit sa connaissance au fil des années, dans un rapport interactif avec ses enseignants, les autres élèves de sa classe et toutes les autres sources que la vie sociale met à sa disposition.Dans le texte ci-dessous, nous présentons un ensemble de problèmes dont l'enjeu mathématique est la notion d'approximation traitée à un moment de la scolarité : élèves de 12-15 ans, de façon contextualisée. Ce n'est qu'une approche, la question du calcul d'erreur n'est pas abordée. Nombres et mesures y sont impliqués dans différents cadres en interaction : numérique, géométrique, fonctionnel, graphique. Nous y expliquons nos choix didactiques et les raisons des choix de l'ingénierie proposée. La référence est la dialectique outil/objet et jeux de cadres. Elle nous offre une grille pour élaborer les séquences de classe et aussi pour repérer et analyser les relations entre l'enseignant et les élèves : qui est responsable de quoi, qui fait quoi. L'enseignant a des marges de manoeuvre pour organiser et conduire son enseignement, il a des attentes concernant les élèves. Chaque événement nous rend idiot. Car l’idiotie, c’est le retard sur ce qui arrive. Comment anticiper l’événement sinon par calcul ? Le réel est pourtant ce qui surprend le possible, disait Bergson. Ceci signifie que le virtuel est au-delà du calcul, du possible, des projets de science-fiction les plus futuristes, il est une puissance d’événement immanente au réel même. “Idiot” signifie également non séparé, immanent, impossible à dédoubler. Le réel est idiot. Comment cette puissance d’événement immanente au réel se manifeste-t-elle dans l’oeuvre technologique, si l’oeuvre est par nature événement, et si l’événement disjoint, surprend tout horizon d’attente, toute prévisibilité, toute calculabilité ? D’un point de vue différent, l’événement fait retour. Cette réitération de l’événement permet de poser l’hypothèse d’un réel en calcul. Calcul effectué sans transcendance, il montre à l’oeuvre un virtuel machinique. Comment certains artefacts peuvent-il entrer en intelligence avec la répétition qui travaille un réel idiot ? En quelques loopings, par bouclage, une oeuvre interactive de Claude Closky nous donne à découvrir une forme d’intelligence artefactuelle idiote.

Abstract Objective To elucidate the ultrastructural details of struvite-containing urinary calculi from cats. Design Specimens studied were inclusive of the range of textures visible during preliminary analysis by use of a stereoscopic dissecting microscope. Textural types, which were used to infer crystal growth conditions, were differentiated with regard to crystal habit, crystal size, growth orientation, and primary porosity. Sample Population Thirty specimens were selected from a collection of approximately 1,600 feline urinary calculi: 20 of these were composed entirely of struvite, and 10 consisted of struvite and calcium phosphate (apatite). Procedure Qualitative and quantitative analyses of specimens included use of plain and polarized light microscopy, x-ray diffractometry, scanning electron microscopy with backscattered electron imagery, x-ray fluorescence scans, and electron probe microanalysis. Results Four textural types were recognized among struvite calculi, whereas 2 textural types of struvite-apatite calculi were described. Conclusions The presence of minute, well interconnected primary pores in struvite-containing urinary calculi from cats is an important feature, which may promote possible interaction of calculi with changes in urine composition. Clinical Relevance Primary porosity, which can facilitate interaction between the calculus and changing urine composition, may explain the efficacy of dietary or medicinal manipulations to promote the dissolution of struvite-containing uroliths from this species. Results 4 textural types were recognized among struvite calculi, and 4 textural types of struvite-apatite calculi were described. Evidences of calculus dissolution were described from 4 calculi studied. Conclusions The presence of small, well interconnected primary pores in struvite-containing urinary calculi from dogs appears to be a significant factor in determining the possible interaction of calculi with changes in the urine composition. The progress of dissolution from the calculus surface to the calculus interior appears to be largely affected by the primary porosity originally present between crystals forming the calculus framework. Apatite was observed to be more resistant to dissolution than struvite. Clinical Relevance The prevalence of fine concentric laminations having low porosity, and the common occur-rence of apatite among struvite-containing urinary calculi from dogs may be 2 reasons why the efficacy of dietary and medicinal manipulations in dissolving urinary calculi is greater among cats than it is among dogs. Increasing the expressiveness of qualitative spatial calculi is an essential step towards meeting the requirements of applications. This can be achieved by combining existing calculi in a way that we can express spatial information using relations from multiple calculi. The great challenge is to develop reasoning algorithms that are correct and complete when reasoning over the combined information. Previous work has mainly studied cases where the interaction between the combined calculi was small, or where one of the two calculi was very simple. In this paper we tackle the important combination of topological and directional information for extended spatial objects. We combine some of the best known calculi in qualitative spatial reasoning, the RCC8 algebra for representing topological information, and the Rectangle Algebra (RA) and the Cardinal Direction Calculus (CDC) for directional information. We consider two different interpretations of the RCC8 algebra, one uses a weak connectedness relation, the other uses a strong connectedness relation. In both interpretations, we show that reasoning with topological and directional information is decidable and remains in NP. Our computational complexity results unveil the significant differences between RA and CDC, and that between weak and strong RCC8 models. Take the combination of basic RCC8 and basic CDC constraints as an example: we show that the consistency problem is in P only when we use the strong RCC8 algebra and explicitly know the corresponding basic RA constraints.

The collection of the rough set pairs <lower approximation, upper approximation> of an approximation (U, R) can be made into a Stone algebra by defining two binary operators and one unary operator on the pairs. By introducing a more unary operator, one can get a regular double Stone algebra to describe the rough set pairs of an approximation space. Sequent calculi corresponding to the rough algebras, including rough Stone algebras, Stone algebras, rough double Stone algebras, and regular double Stone algebras are proposed in this paper. The sequent calculi are called rough Stone logic (RSL), Stone logic (SL), rough double Stone logic (RDSL), and double Stone Logic (DSL). The languages, axioms and rules are presented. The soundness and completeness of the logics are proved.

The quantitative mineralogical and chemical composition of urate urinary stones has been investigated using the X-ray powder method, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray spectral microanalysis for twenty five patients with urolithiasis of the Ivanovo region. The texture and surface composition of calculi have been carefully investigated and the peroral litholysis was simulated under laboratory conditions with dilute aqueous solutions of various pH values. The local change in the surface chemical composition for four stones during their destruction has been also studied via the X-ray spectral microanalysis. The main minerals of urate calculi are pure uric acid and insignificantly uric acid hydrates. No calculi composed of uric acid salts are observed. The main chemical elements of their surface are carbon, nitrogen and oxygen. The interaction of urate stones with litholytic solutions leads to a gradual decrease in their size, the effect being much more pronounced for smaller calculi. The results of X-ray spectral microanalysis show that the surface composition of stones composed of pure uric acid is almost constant during the treatment. Our results clearly indicate that oral litholysis of urate stones with appropriate citrate mixtures should be approached differentially depending on the composition of the calculus. In particular, for urate stones containing an appreciable amount of calcium oxalate hydrates, vitlocite or uric acid salts, litholytic therapy should be mainly applied as an additional technique to the extracorporeal shock wave or contact lithotripsy. For larger uric acid calculi, in turn, the effect of litholytic citrate monotherapy may be observed not earlier than after two or three months of oral administration of citrate mixtures.

ABSTRACT The geminivirus replication factor AL1 interacts with the plant retinoblastoma-related protein (pRBR) to modulate host gene expression. The AL1 protein of tomato golden mosaic virus (TGMV) binds to pRBR through an 80-amino-acid region that contains two highly predicted α-helices designated 3 and 4. Earlier studies suggested that the helix 4 motif, whose amino acid sequence is strongly conserved across geminivirus replication proteins, plays a role in pRBR binding. We generated a series of alanine substitutions across helix 4 of TGMV AL1 and examined their impact on pRBR binding using yeast two-hybrid assays. These experiments showed that several helix 4 residues are essential for efficient pRBR binding, with a critical residue being a leucine at position 148 in the middle of the motif. Various amino acid substitutions at leucine-148 indicated that both structural and side chain components contribute to pRBR binding. The replication proteins of the geminiviruses tomato yellow leaf curl virus and cabbage leaf curl virus (CaLCuV) also bound to pRBR in yeast dihybrid assays. Mutation of the leucine residue in helix 4 of CaLCuV AL1 reduced binding. Together, these results suggest that helix 4 and the conserved leucine residue are part of a pRBR-binding interface in begomovirus replication proteins.

ABSTRACT The nuclear shuttle protein (NSP) from bipartite geminiviruses facilitates the intracellular transport of viral DNA from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and acts in concert with the movement protein (MP) to promote the cell-to-cell spread of the viral DNA. A proline-rich extensin-like receptor protein kinase (PERK) was found to interact specifically with NSP of Cabbage leaf curl virus (CaLCuV) and of tomato-infecting geminiviruses through a yeast two-hybrid screening. The PERK-like protein, which we designated NsAK (for NSP-associated kinase), is structurally organized into a proline-rich N-terminal domain, followed by a transmembrane segment and a C-terminal serine/threonine kinase domain. The viral protein interacted stably with defective versions of the NsAK kinase domain, but not with the potentially active enzyme, in an in vitro binding assay. In vitro-translated NsAK enhanced the phosphorylation level of NSP, indicating that NSP functions as a substrate for NsAK. These results demonstrate that NsAK is an authentic serine/threonine kinase and suggest a functional link for NSP-NsAK complex formation. This interpretation was corroborated by in vivo infectivity assays showing that loss of NsAK function reduces the efficiency of CaLCuV infection and attenuates symptom development. Our data implicate NsAK as a positive contributor to geminivirus infection and suggest it may regulate NSP function.

Rhizosphere and rhizoplane of fababean (Vicia faba), melochia (Corchorus olitorius), sesame (Sesamum indicum) and soyabean (Glycine max) plants are inhabited with fungi, mostly Aspergillus flavus, A. niger, Fusarium oxysporum, Penicillium corylophilum, P. cyclopium, P. funiculosum and Rhizopus stolonifer. All fungal species have the ability to produce gibberellin (GA) but F. oxysporum was found to produce both GA and indole-acetic acid (IAA). The optimum period for GA and IAA production by F. oxysporum was 10 days in the mycelium and 15 days in the filtrate at 28&deg;C. The contents of GA and IAA were significantly increased at 0.5 and 1% NaCl after 5 days, but they were lowered at 4% (700 mM) NaCl. Cytochrome P-450 was significantly increased under salt stress at 0.5&ndash;7% NaCl. Calcium decreased NaCl stress on F. oxysporum by significant elevating GA biosynthesis at 40 mM Ca<sup>2+</sup>/700 mM Na<sup>+</sup>. GA at 10 &micro;M and Ca<sup>2+</sup>&nbsp;at 10 mM enhanced the germination of seeds under 175 mM Na<sup>+</sup>.

Temperature dependence of equilibrium macroscopic characteristics of granular films such as magnetization, energy, heat capacity, and magnetic susceptibility are calcu-lated for different linear sizes of granules. Influence of exchange integral values for inter-action between granules in film and interlayer interaction in twolayer structure is studied.

Ce sont ces deux caractéristiques du micro-ordinateur que nous avons essayé d’exploiter en réalisant des logiciels de français dont le but est d’amener l’enfant à une meilleure maîtrise de la langue écrite. L’un des logiciels porte sur les relatives complexes et a pour objectif de susciter chez l’enfant une réflexion explicite sur le fonctionnement de ces relatives; l’autre génère des phrases avec une erreur morphologique, syntaxique ou sémantique et analyse des phrases contenant des erreurs de même type.

The perovskite CH3NH3PbCl3 presents two low-temperature phase transitions [Formula: see text] The various phases are characterized by Raman scattering. We restrict ourselves to the low-frequency domain (10–250 cm–1), which includes the lattice vibrations, these being more sensitive to the symmetry variations and to the structural phase transitions. Studying the crystal dynamics and the spectral evolution requires a detailed assigment of the Raman spectrum. Consequently, we bring in a molecular model and carry out a theoretical calculation of the vibration frequencies of the perovskite sublattice PbCl3 using the semiempirical self-consistent field method. The model considers the interaction of a PbCl6 octahedron with its six octahedron neighbors. The vibrating cell is thus a 43-atom molecule. The environmental impact on human health is of increasing concern mainly due to the complex interaction between various hazardous factors both on environment and within human organism. The aim of this paper is to investigate possible correlations between the quality parameters of drinking water and the formation of uroliths. The constituents of some kidney calculi sampled after surgery from 90 patients coming from the Horezu – Valcea area have been analysed, this region being identified as having the most cases of kidney lithiasis and that might be related with hard drinking waters. The study has been made during the period of 2004 – 2008. Physical – chemical methods specific for characterization of the quality of drinking waters have been used in parallel with determination of composition and structural characterization by X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis TG, ATD, FT-IR spectroscopy, optical microscopy. Four groups of uroliths have been identified: multiphase oxalate and urate, phosphate (hydroxiapatite) and carbonate, monohydrated oxalate (whewellite), and urate stones. Such research might be useful, from both chemical and biochemical point of view, for identifying the conditions that cause the inhibition of the processes related to kidney calculi formation.

El formalismo de la ecuación maestra en la forma de Lindblad es considerado para estudiar la dinámica del sistema en los regímenes de acoplamiento débil y fuerte, respectivamente. El espectro de fotoluminiscencia del sistema en el límite estacionario es calculado en forma exacta, y se muestra el efecto de la interacción óptica no lineal explícitamente sobre éste. Se calcula el entrelazamiento del sistema, y se encuentra resurgimientos y muerte s\'ubita del entrelazamiento. Les modèles d’IA générative ont joué un rôle central dans la démocratisation de la création d’informations professionnelles sur les clients, offrant aux acteurs du marché des opportunités sans précédent pour développer rapidement des outils de marketing sophistiqués avec des ressources minimales. Background: Human serum albumin (HSA) is one of the most abundant proteins in the blood plasma, urine as well as in the organic matrix of renal calculi. Macromolecules present in the urine modulate kidney stone formation either by stimulating or inhibiting the crystallization process. Objective: In the present study, the effect of HSA protein on the growth of calcium oxalate monohydrate crystal (COM) was investigated. Methods: Crystal growth assay was used to measure oxalate depletion in the crystal seeded solution in the presence of HSA. HSA concentrations exhibiting effect on crystal growth were selected for FTIR and XRD analysis. In silico docking was performed on seven different binding sites of HSA. Results: Albumin plays dual role in the growth of calcium oxalate crystallization. FTIR and XRD studies further revealed HSA exerted strain over crystal thus affecting its structure by interacting with amino acids of its pocket 1. Docking results indicate that out of 7 binding pocket in protein, calcium oxalate interacts with Arg-186 and Lys-190 amino acids of pocket 1. Conclusion: Our study confirms the role of HSA in calcium oxalate crystallization where acidic amino acids arginine and lysine bind to COM crystals, revealing molecular interaction of macromolecule and crystal in urolithiasis.

El presente estudio se propuso examinar las relaciones de la habilidad digital, la usabilidad, la utilidad y la gestión directiva con la frecuencia con que maestros de educación primaria utilizaban TIC en sus prácticas de enseñanza. Participaron en el estudio 252 docentes (M edad = 36,5 años, DE = 10,1) del Estado de Sonora (México). Se realizó un estudio transversal de alcance relacional. Se utilizaron escalas de autorreporte para medir las variables involucradas en el estudio. Se calculó un modelo de regresión lineal múltiple. Se encontró que tanto variables relativas al docente (habilidad digital y usabilidad) como al director (gestión directiva) se asociaban positivamente con las prácticas de enseñanza con apoyo en tecnología. Se concluyó que la integración de las TIC en la enseñanza por parte de los docentes se relacionaba con variables del docente y de los directores.

Urolithiasis is a multifaceted process that initiates with the formation of microcrystals in the urine and terminates with the formation of mature renal calculi. The attachment of crystals by the urothelium is a major event in the successful formation of the mature stone. The papillary tip is the primary site for crystal attachment and stone maturation, and the attachment process appears to be mediated by specific molecular interactions between molecular structures on the surfaces of stone crystals and molecular arrays on the surfaces of cell membranes. Animal models have demonstrated the interaction between cells and crystals, and they have suggested a correlation between cellular damage and crystal interaction, especially when crystals bind to and then break free from the tubular epithelium. Cell culture studies on inner medullary late collecting duct (IMCD) cells have demonstrated that calcium oxalate monohydrate, hydroxyapatite, and uric acid crystals bind to IMCD cells in primary culture. The attachment of these crystals to IMCD cells was crystal structure dependent, saturable, and competitively inhibitable if more than one crystal type was present at the same time. The crystals preferentially attach to cells that have lost partial or complete intercellular junctional integrity. These crystal-attaching cells appear to have altered membrane composition and/or structure. Recent studies on red blood cells and IMCD cells that have been enriched with cholesterol and selected phospholipids suggest that crystal-membrane phospholipid interactions play a major role in crystal attachment.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)

Navigation systems which employ sequence-based directions have been found not effective in facilitating the spatial ability for humans to be aware of themselves in an environment. Traditional maps are found easily conveying the configuration of spatial objects but having difficulty to facilitate the correspondence to spatial objects in the real world. Sketch maps as schematic map-like representations have been suggested being a possible way of achieving goals of facilitating both navigation and spatial awareness. Moreover, sketch maps as externalizations of cognitive maps have been proved as reliable representations for human spatial thinking. In this study, the authors investigate the characteristics of directions given in two different forms: sketch maps and verbal descriptions (turn-by-turn instructions). The investigation addresses three aspects of spatial relations which are orientation, street topology and sequential order and their representations using existing qualitative reasoning calculi. The results of this study demonstrate sketch maps as a better direction-giving method and provide insights of applying sketch-map-like components for navigation.

AbstractEnvironmental barrier coating (EBC) materials that are resistant against molten calcia-magnesia-aluminosilicate (CMAS) corrosion are urgently required. Herein, multicomponent rare-earth (RE) disilicate ((Yb0.2Y0.2Lu0.2Sc0.2Gd0.2)2Si2O7, (5RE)2Si2O7) was investigated with regard to its CMAS interaction behavior at 1400 °C. Compared with the individual RE disilicates, the (5RE)2Si2O7 material exhibited improved resistance against CMAS attack. The dominant process involved in the interaction of (5RE)2Si2O7 with CMAS was reaction-recrystallization. A dense and continuous reaction layer protected the substrate from rapid corrosion at high temperatures. The results demonstrated that multicomponent strategy of RE species in disilicate can provide a new perspective in the development of promising EBC materials with improved corrosion resistance.

Nephrolithiasis is one of the most common kidney diseases, with poorly understood pathophysiology, but experimental study has been hindered by lack of experimentally tractable models. Drosophila melanogaster is a useful model organism for renal diseases because of genetic and functional similarities of Malpighian (renal) tubules with the human kidney. Here, we demonstrated function of the sex-determining region Y protein-interacting protein-1 ( Sip1) gene, an ortholog of human Na+/H+ exchanger regulatory factor ( NHERF1), in Drosophila Malpighian tubules and its impact on nephrolithiasis. Abundant birefringent calculi were observed in Sip1 mutant flies, and the phenotype was also observed in renal stellate cell-specific RNA interference Sip1 knockdown in otherwise normal flies, confirming a renal etiology. This phenotype was abolished in rosy mutant flies (which model human xanthinuria) and by the xanthine oxidase inhibitor allopurinol, suggesting that the calculi were of uric acid. This was confirmed by direct biochemical assay for urate. Stones rapidly dissolved when the tubule was bathed in alkaline media, suggesting that Sip1 knockdown was acidifying the tubule. SIP1 was shown to collocate with Na+/H+ exchanger isoform 2 (NHE2) and with moesin in stellate cells. Knockdown of NHE2 specifically to the stellate cells also increased renal uric acid stone formation, and so a model was developed in which SIP1 normally regulates NHE2 activity and luminal pH, ultimately leading to uric acid stone formation. Drosophila renal tubules may thus offer a useful model for urate nephrolithiasis.

Estudio correlacional con enfoque cuantitativo que buscó establecer la asociación entre los factores intrínsecos observables de las instituciones pedagógicas con la variabilidad de la calidad de la educación media en 27 municipios no certificados del Departamento de Córdoba, Colombia. La muestra se calculó con base en un muestreo probabilístico estratificado para un total de 109 escuelas rurales y urbanas; los datos se recolectaron a través de una encuesta integrada por 34 preguntas y aplicada a rectores o directivos docentes de dichos centros educativos. La evaluación de asociaciones entre variables empleó el análisis en componentes principales (ACP) y se construyó un modelo de regresión logística ordinal con enlace logístico. Entre los factores institucionales más asociados se encuentra que existe una relación positiva entre la cantidad de alumnos por aula, el total de estudiantes que presentan las pruebas y la cifra de graduados con la suma de las aulas y el número de profesores. Se concluye que, a un nivel de significancia del 5%, el número de graduados, disponer de una biblioteca adecuada y actualizada, contar con acceso a internet y tener recursos para la población atendida con sus complementos son factores que aumentan la probabilidad de obtener una mejor categorización en las pruebas Saber 11.º.

Multi-stage programming using typed code quotation is an established technique for writing optimizing code generators with strong type-safety guarantees. Unfortunately, quotation in Haskell interacts poorly with type classes, making it difficult to write robust multi-stage programs. We study this unsound interaction and propose a resolution, staged type class constraints, which we formalize in a source calculus λ ⇒ that elaborates into an explicit core calculus F . We show type soundness of both calculi, establishing that well-typed, well-staged source programs always elaborate to well-typed, well-staged core programs, and prove beta and eta rules for code quotations. Our design allows programmers to incorporate type classes into multi-stage programs with confidence. Although motivated by Haskell, it is also suitable as a foundation for other languages that support both overloading and quotation.

The complexity of designing concurrent and highly-evolving interactive systems has grown to a point where system verification has become a hurdle. Fortunately, formal verification methods have arrived at the right time. They detect errors, inconsistencies and incompleteness at early development stages of a system formally modeled using a formal specification language. -calculus (Milner, 1999) is one such formal language which provides strong mathematical base that can be used for verifying system specifications. But manually verifying the specifications of concurrent systems is a very tedious and error-prone work, especially if the specifications are large. Consequently, an automated verification tool would be essential for efficient system design and development. In addition, formal verification tools are vital ingredient to fully harness the potential of component-based software composition. The authors developed such an automated verification tool which is highly portable and seamlessly integrates with the visualization, reduction and performance evaluation tools introduced (Ahmad & Rahimi, 2008; Rahimi, 2006; Rahimi et al., 2001, 2008) to provide a comprehensive tool for designing and analyzing multi process/agent systems. Open-Bisimulation (Sangiorgi, 1996) concept is utilized as the theoretical base for the design and implementation of the tool which incorporates an expert system implemented in Java Expert System Shell (JESS) (Friedman-Hill, 2003).

We have investigated the p-dopant potential of 14 different impurities (Be, B, F, Mg, Al,Ca, Sc, Cu, Zn, Ga, In, Ba, Pt, and Tl) within 4H-SiC via Density Functional Theory (DFT) calcu-lations using a hybrid density functional. We analyse the incorporation energies of impurity atomson Si and C sites as well as the character of lattice distortion induced by impurities. The calculatedthermal ionization energies confirm that Al and Ga on the Si site are the best candidates for p-dopingof 4H-SiC. Although we find some correlation of incorporation energies with atomic radii of impuri-ties, the difference in chemical interaction with neighbouring atoms and strong lattice distortions playimportant roles in determining the impurity incorporation energies and charge transition levels. Wefind Al to still be the best and most industrially viable p-dopant for 4H-SiC.

Se reporta la creación de un Virtual Lab, software interactivo e integrado, para llevar a cabo la binarización basada en histograma de imágenes en niveles de gris. En un intento de optimizar la binarización, el Virtual Lab que se reporta introduce un umbral heurístico de binarización. Durante el procesamiento, se extrae el histograma de la imagen y el módulo calcula un umbral heurístico, para lo cual extrae el promedio ponderado de los niveles de gris del primer plano de la imagen. A continuación se resaltan los niveles de gris en la imagen que están por encima del umbral detectado. Aunque aún no es experimentalmente óptimo, el umbral heurístico proporciona una primera aproximación hacia la óptima binarización automática de las imágenes en niveles de gris. Cuando el módulo opera sobre una imagen, es posible visualizar y comparar en la pantalla hasta tres diferentes binarizaciones simultáneamente, cada una para un umbral diferente de binarización fijado por el usuario.

Oxalate may cause hypocalcaemia or formation of urinary calculi in animals with prolonged grazing of Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum) × pearl millet (bajra, P. glaucum) hybrid (NBH). We investigated the influence of nitrate metabolism, nitrogen (N) nutrition, N forms and seasonal variation on oxalate accumulation in leaves of NBH in a field experiment in Ludhiana, India. The experiment was a randomised block design with three N sources (nitrate, amide and ammonium), three application rates (50, 75 and 100 kg N/ha), four seasons (summer, monsoon, autumn, pre-winter) and three replicates. Applied N nutrition induced oxalate synthesis and activities of nitrate reductase (NR) and nitrite reductase (NiR) enzymes. A positive association of N nutrition with both oxalate accumulation and nitrate-reducing enzymes was found. Nitrate-N increased oxalate accumulation and NiR activity more than ammonium and amide. A differential effect of seasons on NR and NiR activities, as well as on oxalate accumulation, was observed. Among different harvest seasons, NR and NiR activities were positively associated with oxalate accumulation in summer and the monsoon season. Dans cette étude, l’intérêt principal portait sur le comportement paternel dans le contexte de la dépression maternelle. Plusieurs auteurs soulignent la flexibilité de l’investissement paternel dans la nature et argumentent qu’il est facultatif chez les humains, donc d’avantage ouvert à des calculs visant à maximiser son inclusive fitness que le comportement maternel. D’un point de vue évolutif, la dépression post-partum peut avoir une fonction de signalisation, communiquant le besoin de la mère d’un soutien supplémentaire lorsqu’elle est incapable de faire face à ses propres besoins et ceux de l’enfant, notamment en faisant appel à son partenaire. Hypothèse : L’objectif principal était d’examiner les associations entre le comportement paternel, la dépression post-partum maternelle et les relations familiales. L’hypothèse principale est que lorsque les mères sont déprimées, les pères assument un rôle plus actif au sein du système familial, augmentant leur investissement pour compenser le « fonctionnement partiel » de la mère dû à la dépression, favorisant le bien-être de leur enfant et, par conséquent, potentiellement augmentant leur inclusive fitness. Méthodes : Quarante-six dyades père-enfant ont été observées dans une situation de jeu libre, et des évaluations du degré de synchronie interactionnelle pèreenfant (distance interpersonnelle, orientation visuelle et corporelle et implication dyadique) ont été réalisées. Résultats : Une plus grande proximité entre le père et l’enfant et une plus grande harmonisation visuelle ont été observées lorsque les mères présentaient une dépression post-partum, et cela s’est maintenu malgré la dépression ultérieure. Ces résultats ont été discutés en relation avec l’hypothèse évolutive de la dépression, la théorie de l’investissement parental de Trivers et la théorie du système familial.

The results of numerical modeling of the interaction of bored piles with the soil environment are presented. The process of identifying soil parameters according to static tests of piles was studied. The parameters of the soil, which have the greatest influence on the change in the graph of the dependence of the pile settlement on the load, are singled out. The research process can be divided into the following stages: creation of a numerical model of the interaction of the pile with the volumetric soil array in the PC «LIRA-Sapr». The size of the array is 30x30x40 m, based on the research of scientists [1]. The pile is defined be a rod finite element (pile length 30 m, diameter 0.82 m). The array is defined by non linear finite elements with characteristics according to data from engineering and geological studies. The load is applied step by step (10 steps) with a maximum value of 600 ton-forces. 4 variants of the volumetric soil massif with different values of the modulus of elasticity were considered. In the first variant, the modulus of elasticity is unchanged, in the second it is increased by 2 times, in the third by 3 times and in the fourth variant by 4 times. The modulus of elasticity increased simultaneously in all elements of the soil massif. According to the calculation, it was established that when the elasticity modulus is increased by 4 times, the graph of the dependence of the settlement on the load is close to the graph of field tests. Further, the identification of the angle of internal friction was carried out, with an increased modulus of elasticity by 4 times. It was established that in the soil model with the angle of internal friction taken with a factor of 0.5, the settlement graph of the test pile is very close to the test graph. Therefore, for the calculation of the «base – foundation – above-ground structures» system, it is customary to increase the elasticity modulus by 4 times and take the angle of internal friction with a factor 0.5. The calculation of the «base – foundation – above-ground structures» system for a high-rise building with identified soil parameters and with parameters that were before identification was performed. The stress- strain state of foundation structures for two variants of soil conditions was investigated. Redistribution of forces in foundation structures with both variants of soil parameters is given

Adhesion of microcrystals to the apical surface of renal tubular cells could be a critical step in the formation of kidney stones. The role of membrane surface charge as a determinant of the interaction between renal epithelial cells (BSC-1 line) and the most common crystal in kidney stones, calcium oxalate monohydrate (COM), was studied in a tissue culture model system. Adhesion of COM crystals to cells was blocked by cationized ferritin. Other cations that bind to cells including cetylpyridinium chloride and polylysine, as well as cationic dyes such as Alcian blue, also inhibited adhesion of COM crystals, but not all polycations shared this effect. Specific lectins including Triticum vulgaris (wheat germ agglutinin) blocked crystal binding to the cells. Furthermore, treatment of cells with neuraminidase inhibited binding of crystals. Therefore, anionic cell surface sialic acid residues appear to function as COM crystal receptors that can be blocked by specific cations or lectins. In vivo, alterations in the structure, function, quantity, or availability of these anionic cell surface molecules could lead to crystal retention and formation of renal calculi.

This paper proposes a formal approach to the design and programming of long running transactions (LRTs). We exploit techniques from process calculi to define cJoin, which is an extension of the Join calculus with few well-disciplined primitives for LRT. Transactions in cJoin are intended to describe the transactional interaction of several partners, under the assumption that any partner executing a transaction may communicate only with other transactional partners. In such case, the transactions run by any party are bound to achieve the same outcome (i.e., all succeed or all fail). Hence, a distinguishing feature of cJoin, called dynamic joinability, is that ongoing transactions can be merged to complete their tasks and when this happens either all succeed or all abort. Additionally, cJoin is based on compensations i.e., partial executions of transactions are recovered by executing user-defined programs instead of providing automatic rollback. The expressiveness and generality of cJoin is demonstrated by many examples addressing common programming patterns. The mathematical foundation is accompanied by a prototype language implementation, which is an extension of the JoCaml compiler.

El síndrome de Down es una enfermedad genética que afecta a una de cada 700 a 800 personas en todo el mundo. Es la causa más común de discapacidad intelectual genética en niños. Se calcula que alrededor del 80% de los niños con síndrome de Down tienen una discapacidad intelectual de leve a moderada, mientras que el resto presenta una discapacidad intelectual más grave. Sin embargo, muchos niños pueden llevar una vida plena y satisfactoria con los cuidados adecuados. Por ello, esta investigación se centrará en el tratamiento alternativo del aprendizaje de las matemáticas para atraer la atención de este grupo específico de niños. Los entornos digitales ofrecen oportunidades de aprendizaje interactivo y adaptativo, lo que permite adaptar la enseñanza a las necesidades individuales de los niños con síndrome de Down. Esta investigación pretende proporcionar a los niños mayores oportunidades y mejorar su experiencia educativa utilizando los entornos digitales como herramientas de apoyo para aumentar su motivación y centrarse en el proceso de aprendizaje de las matemáticas, en beneficio de los niños.

Une étude comparative des dispositifs de pilotage de la performance dans huit startups appartenant au même écosystème montre que ces entreprises recourent d’abord au suivi de trésorerie et au compte de résultat de la comptabilité générale puis aux tableaux de bord de production ou commerciaux et seulement ensuite aux outils classiques du contrôle de gestion que sont les calculs de coûts, le système budgétaire et le tableau de bord de pilotage global. En environnement innovant et incertain, l’introduction du contrôle de gestion n’est pas toujours nécessaire quand l’entreprise est très petite, quand elle est plus proche de sa base scientifique que des marchés (par exemple dans le cas des biotechs) et en raison du système français d’aides publiques qui rend moins urgent l’intervention du capital risque. Quand l’appropriation du contrôle de gestion est en cours, elle est souvent ralentie par la focalisation compréhensible des dirigeants sur les objectifs techniques et commerciaux et par leur culture principalement scientifique. Enfin les dispositifs de pilotage mis en oeuvre restent réduits à un usage psycho-cognitif pour l’aide à la décision du dirigeant en phase d’exploration ou sont plus développés en phase d’exploitation, mais alors généralement avec un responsable du contrôle de gestion cantonné à un rôle de garde-fou et un fonctionnement interactif. Dix propositions résument les enseignements de cette recherche.
