Повний текст джерелаIn recent years, numerous studies whose ultimate goal is to drive the railway interoperability have allowed the emergence of a pan-European train control system. This system uses ground-to-train radio operating on the GSM-R (Global System for Mobile communications - Railways) protocol, currently being deployed on a large scale along railway lines. The smooth running of railway operations depends, in part, of the proper routing of radio communications between trains and ground. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure the effective operation of this ground to train link in presence of intentional or unintentional electromagnetic interference that could disrupt communication. This thesis focuses on this second category of disturbances. We develop methods for detecting electromagnetic interference superimposing their signals to GSM-R signals. Then, this detection will promptly set off effective countermeasures against such interference at different levels of the radio architecture, the physical layer, the higher protocol layers. We implement a supervised detection system to detect the presence of jamming signals and, for potentially to recognize them. Based on the analysis of signals exchanged, we develop and evaluate two methods. One considers the quadrature signals recovered by the receiver in the used communication channel. The second method exploits the power spectral density of the signals collected in a wider frequency band, centered in the range allocated to the GSM-R communications and extending on either side thereof. These methods are successively evaluated by simulation, on data obtained using a test bench, and on a real railway site

Повний текст джерелаThe work presented in this PhD suggest a methodology for the study of electromagnetic interference in RF integrated systems. This thesis focuses on the problems of near-field radiated coupling between different parts of a chip or between ICs.Then this methodology is applied to two case studies on different scales, in the first case study the coupling between a 3G power amplifier and a transceiver is presented then a model of the coupling is made reproducing parasitic effects observed in measurements. Then a study to extract and evaluate the coupling between blocks, between a VCO inductor and nearby structures of a microchip. Then a near-field emission model of this circuit is proposed.These works demonstrate the interest of EMC studies in all phases of designing a circuit or system and the interest of near-field measurements that allow the realization of the investigation and diagnosis of EMC

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis has been dedicated to addressing the misbehaviour detection problem in vehicular networks. Specifically, we focus on two major issues in PHY layer and application layer respectively: Radio Frequency (RF) Jamming attacks and Sybil attacks. Specifically, we adopted three different machine learning methods including Distance based clustering, Support Vector Machine (SVM) and k-nearest neighbours (kNN) in Sybil nodes detection. Based on variation between benign vehicles and Sybil nodes in their driving patterns, the non-existent virtual nodes can be detected. For RF jamming attacks, we focused on the design of countermeasure for the control channel jamming issue in vehicular networks, which is of vital importance to the safety of I2V communications. We proposed to adopt the cooperative relaying techniques to address the control channel jamming problem in vehicular networks, which is based on the idea that the vehicles outside of the jamming area can serve as relays to help forward the control channel signal to the victim vehicles through other the jamming-free service channels. Thus, we extended the jamming issues in multi-antenna RSU scenarios, where the RSU can serve multiple groups of vehicles simultaneously using the multi-group multicast beamforming technique. As a solution, we propose a two stage anti-jamming scheme, whereby the vehicles who have successfully decoded the signal received in the first stage will be selected as relays to cooperatively serve the victim vehicles in the second stage using the coordinated beamforming techniques over a jamming-free service channel

Повний текст джерелаIn railway freight transport, wagons tracking is necessary to identify sensitive elements (transport of hazardous materials, perishable goods ...) and the associated information (content, weight, location) could be useful for logistic management. The aim of this thesis is to propose a short-range wireless communication system, which meets these needs. The constraints of rail environment such as flexibility, technical installation difficulties, low energy consumption and the risk of electromagnetic disturbances, causes more difficulties to insert wireless technologies in railway environment. A comparative study of existing communication systems has identified the ZigBee technology as the most appropriate to design the communication between wagons and between wagon and infrastructure for the studied application. A comparison of different possibilities for positioning of ZigBee devices was carried out. Experimentations have been realized in presence of vehicles and containers. The impact of electromagnetic disturbances issued from rail power infrastructure and from surrounding RF transmitters, has been studied. Disturbances intentionally generated to damage the proposed system, have been also analyzed
