We study an experiment in which we determine unknown measurements of p objects in n weighing operations according to the model of the chemical balance weighing design. We determine a design which is D‑optimal. For the construction of the D‑optimal design, we use the incidence matrices of balance incomplete block designs, balanced bipartite weighing designs and ternary balanced block designs. We give some optimality conditions determining the relationships between the parameters of a D‑optimal design and we present a series of parameters of such designs. Based on these parameters, we will be able to set down D‑optimal designs in classes in which it was impossible so far.

Several authors have obtained variance balanced (VB) and ternary variance balanced ( V B) designs using balanced incomplete block (BIB) designs and group divisible (GD) designs. In the present investigation, another systematic methods have been developed for the construction of VB designs using A Triangular PBIB design and an incomplete block design where the blocks of the incomplete block design are formed by taking the second associate treatments of the given triangular PBIB design. Two Triangular PBIB designs. The methods of construction of VB designs are further illustrated by examples.

Ternary content-addressable memories (TCAMs) are used to design high-speed search engines. TCAM is implemented on application-specific integrated circuit (native TCAMs) and field-programmable gate array (FPGA) (static random-access memory (SRAM)-based TCAMs) platforms but both have the drawback of high power consumption. This paper presents a pre-classifier-based architecture for an energy-efficient SRAM-based TCAM. The first classification stage divides the TCAM table into several sub-tables of balanced size. The second SRAM-based implementation stage maps each of the resultant TCAM sub-tables to a separate row of configured SRAM blocks in the architecture. The proposed architecture selectively activates at most one row of SRAM blocks for each incoming TCAM word. Compared with the existing SRAM-based TCAM designs on FPGAs, the proposed design consumes significantly reduced energy as it activates a part of SRAM memory used for lookup rather than the entire SRAM memory as in the previous schemes. We implemented the proposed approach sample designs of size 512 × 36 on Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGA. The experimental results showed that the proposed design achieved at least three times lower power consumption per performance than other SRAM-based TCAM architectures.

Liquid–liquid equilibria (LLE) characterization is a task requiring considerable work and appreciable financial resources. Notable savings in time and effort can be achieved when the experimental plans use the methods of the optimal design of experiments that maximize the information obtained. To achieve this goal, a systematic optimization formulation based on Semidefinite Programming is proposed for finding optimal experimental designs for LLE studies carried out at constant pressure and temperature. The non-random two-liquid (NRTL) model is employed to represent species equilibria in both phases. This model, combined with mass balance relationships, provides a means of computing the sensitivities of the measurements to the parameters. To design the experiment, these sensitivities are calculated for a grid of candidate experiments in which initial mixture compositions are varied. The optimal design is found by maximizing criteria based on the Fisher Information Matrix (FIM). Three optimality criteria (D-, A- and E-optimal) are exemplified. The approach is demonstrated for two ternary systems where different sets of parameters are to be estimated.

Particle-reinforced Cu-based electrical contact materials prepared by traditional powder metallurgical methods suffer the same critical problem, where the agglomeration of the addition phases in the Cu matrix significantly deteriorates the performance of the composites and restricts their application. In this work, CdMoO4/Cu matrix composites were fabricated by an in situ method and followed by a powder metallurgical process. Firstly, CdMoO4/particles formed a nucleus and grew up based on the surfaces of Cu particles, realizing the controllable in situ synthesis of mixed powders with homogeneously dispersed CdMoO4 nanoparticles via a one-step reaction. Secondly, the bulk CdMoO4/Cu composites were fabricated by pressing and sintering and then densified by hot-extrusion and cold rolling processes. The microstructures and properties of the extruded and rolled specimens were characterized, respectively. The results indicated that the rolled CdMoO4/Cu composite exhibited excellent comprehensive properties of electrical conductivity and mechanical properties for electrical contact materials. Moreover, the effects of the contact force on the static contact resistance of the extruded and rolled composites were evaluated in the closed state of the contact materials. It was found that the rolled CdMoO4/Cu contact materials possessed a stable electrical contact characteristic with low and steady contact resistance. This work designed ternary CdMoO4 particles to reinforce Cu-based composites with well-balanced performances by an in situ synthesis method and this strategy can be extended to the design of ternary oxide/metal composites utilized as electrical contact materials.

Recent studies have shown the benefits of utilizing ceramic particles as reinforcement in metal alloys; nevertheless, certain drawbacks, including loss of ductility, embrittlement, and decreases in toughness, have been noted. For the objective of obtaining balanced performance, experts have suggested the addition of metal particles as supplement to the ceramic reinforcement. Consequently, high-performance metal hybrid composites have been developed. However, achieving the optimal mix for the reinforcement combination with regards to the optimal performance of developed composite remains a challenge. This research aimed to determine the optimal mixture of Al50Cu10Sn5Mg20Zn10Ti5 lightweight high-entropy alloy (LHEA), B4C, and ZrO2 for the fabrication of trihybrid titanium composites via direct laser deposition. A mixture design was involved in the experimental design, and experimental data were modeled and optimized to achieve the optimal performance of the trihybrid composite. The ANOVA, response surface plots, and ternary maps analyses of the experimental results revealed that various combinations of reinforcement particles displayed a variety of response trends. Moreover, the analysis showed that these reinforcements significantly contributed to the magnitudes and trends of the responses. The generated models were competent for predicting response, and the best formulation consisted of 8.4% LHEA, 1.2% B4C, and 2.4% ZrO2.

Battery management is the key technical link for electric vehicles. A good battery management system can realize the balanced charge and discharge of batteries, reducing the capacity degradation and the loss of health caused by battery overcharge and discharge, which all depend on the real-time and accurate estimation of the battery’s state of charge (SOC). However, the battery’s SOC has highly complex nonlinear time-varying characteristics related to the complex chemical and physical state and dynamic environmental conditions, which are difficult to measure directly, and this has become a difficulty in design and research. According to the characteristics of ternary lithium-ion batteries of electric vehicles, a battery SOC dual estimation algorithm based on the Variable Forgetting Factor Recursive Least Square (VFFRLS) and Multi-Innovation Unscented Kalman Filter (MIUKF) is proposed in this paper. The VFFRLS algorithm is used to estimate battery model parameters, and the MIUKF algorithm is used to estimate the battery’s SOC in real time. The two algorithms are coupled to update battery model parameters and estimate the SOC. The experiment results show that the algorithm has high accuracy and stability.

Summary Minimum miscibility pressure (MMP) is one of the most important parameters in the design of a successful gasflooding process. The most-reliable methods to calculate the MMP are based on slimtube experiments, 1D slimtube simulations, mixing-cell calculations, and the analytical methods known as the method of characteristics (MOC). The calculation of MMP by use of MOC is the fastest method because it relies solely on finding the key tie lines in the displacement path. The MOC method for MMP estimation in its current form assumes that the composition path is a series of shocks from one key tie line to the next. For some oils, however, these key tie lines do not control miscibility, and the MMP calculated by use of the key-tie line approach can be significantly in error. The error can be as high as 5,000 psia for heavier oils or CO2 displacements at low temperature in which three-phase hydrocarbon regions can exist (L1–L2–V). At higher pressures, the two- or three-phase region can split (or bifurcate) into two separate two-phase regions (L1–L2 and L1–V regions). Thus, for the MMP calculation from MOC to be correct, we must calculate the entire composition path for this complex phase behavior, instead of relying on the shock assumption from one key tie line to the next. In this paper, the MOC-composition route is developed completely for the bifurcating phase-behavior displacement for pure CO2 injection by use of a simplified pseudoternary system that is analogous to the complex phase behavior observed for several real displacements with CO2. We develop the MOC analytical solutions by honoring all constraints required for a unique solution—velocity, mass balance, entropy, and solution continuity. The results show that a combination of shocks and rarefaction waves exists along the nontie-line path, unlike previous MOC solutions reported to date. We show that by considering the entire composition path, not just the key tie lines, the calculated MMP agrees with the mixing-cell method. We also show that, in this complex ternary displacement, the displacement mechanism has features of a both condensing and vaporizing (C/V) drive, which was thought to be possible only for gasfloods with four or more components. For pure CO2 injection, the solution also becomes discontinuous for oils that lie on the tie line envelope curve. Finally, we show that shock paths within the two-phase region are generally curved in composition space and that there is no MMP for some oil compositions considered in the displacements by CO2. Recovery can be large even though the MMP is not reached.

The paper is studying the estimation problem of individual weights of \(p\) objects using the design matrix \(\mathbf{X}\) of the A-optimal chemical balance weighing design under the restriction \(p_1 + p_2 = q \leq p\), where \(p_1\) and \(p_2\) represent the number of objects placed on the left pan and on the right pan, respectively, in each of the measurement operations. The lower bound of \(\mathrm{Tr}(\mathbf{X}^{\prime}\mathbf{X})^{-1}\) is attained and the necessary and sufficient conditions for this lower bound to be obtained are given. There are given new construction methods of the A-optimal chemical balance weighing designs based on incidence matrices of the balanced bipartite weighing designs and the ternary balanced block designs.

AbstractMaterial design of guest acceptor is always a big challenge for improving the efficiency of ternary organic solar cells (OSCs). Here, a pair of isomeric nonfullerene acceptors based on quinoxaline core, Qx–p‐C7H8O and Qx–m‐C7H8O, is designed and synthesized. By moving the alkoxy chain attached on side phenyl from meta‐position to para‐position, both π–π stacking distance and crystallinity are enhanced simultaneously. They obtain the uplifted lowest unoccupied molecular orbital level. Compared to Qx–m‐C7H8O, Qx–p‐C7H8O exhibits wider absorption spectrum and higher extinction coefficient. Using D18‐Cl:N3 as host materials, the addition of guest acceptor Qx–p‐C7H8O significantly improves the power conversion efficiency (PCE) from 17.61% to 18.49% because of higher open‐circuit voltage (0.875 V) and short‐circuit current density (27.85 mA cm−2). This can be attributed to the faster exciton dissociation, more balanced carrier mobility, fine fiber morphology, and lower energy loss in the ternary devices. However, Qx–m‐C7H8O‐based ternary device achieves relatively low PCE of 17.17% because this device shows extremely low electron mobility. The results indicate that molecular stacking, film morphology, etc., can be effectively modulated by fine‐tuning the side chains of guest materials, which may be an effective design rule for further improving the PCE of OSCs.

AbstractThe power conversion efficiency of ternary organic solar cells (TOSCs), consisting of one host binary blend and one guest component, remains limited by large voltage losses. The fundamental understanding of the open-circuit voltage (VOC) in TOSCs is controversial, limiting rational design of the guest component. In this study, we systematically investigate how the guest component affects the radiative and non-radiative related parts of VOC of a series of TOSCs using the detailed balanced principle. We highlight that the thermal population of charge-transfer and local exciton states provided by the guest binary blend (that is, the guest-component-based binary blend) has a significant influence on the non-radiative voltage losses. Ultimately, we provide two design rules for enhancing the VOC in TOSCs: high emission yield for the guest binary blend and similar charge-transfer-state energies for host/guest binary blends; high miscibility of the guest component with the low gap component in the host binary blend.

AbstractThe ability to emulate multiplexed neurochemical transmission is an important step toward mimicking complex brain activities. Glutamate and dopamine are neurotransmitters that regulate thinking and impulse signals independently or synergistically. However, emulation of such simultaneous neurotransmission is still challenging. Here we report design and fabrication of synaptic transistor that emulates multiplexed neurochemical transmission of glutamate and dopamine. The device can perform glutamate-induced long-term potentiation, dopamine-induced short-term potentiation, or co-release-induced depression under particular stimulus patterns. More importantly, a balanced ternary system that uses our ambipolar synaptic device backtrack input ‘true’, ‘false’ and ‘unknown’ logic signals; this process is more similar to the information processing in human brains than a traditional binary neural network. This work provides new insight for neuromorphic systems to establish new principles to reproduce the complexity of a mammalian central nervous system from simple basic units.

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui imbangan protein dan energi terhadap bobot lahir anak dan bobot induk domba Garut setelah melahirkan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni sampai Agustus 2018 di UPTD BPPTDK Margawati Garut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan dan enam ulangan. Ternak percobaan yang digunakan yaitu 18 ekor Domba Garut yang sudah menjelang melahirkan dengan rataan bobot kurang lebih 41 kg dengan koefesien variasi 8,72%, dan dipelihara dikandang individu. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah imbangan protein dan energi yaitu P1 (10% ; 59%), P2 (12% ; 63), dan P3 (13% ; 68%). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa imbangan protein dan energi yang berbeda menghasilkan bobot lahir anak dan bobot induk domba Garut yang sama. Kata Kunci : Protein, Energi, Domba Garut. Abstract The aims of research this was to determine the protein and energy balance of the birth weight of the lamb and the weight of sheep ewe post partum. Research was carried out in June to August 2018 at the UPTD BPPTDK Margawati Garut. The method used is the experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and six replications. The experimental object were 18 Garut Sheep that have advanced with an average weight of 41 kg with variation in coefficient of 8.72% and maintained in individual cages. The treatments given were protein and energy balances, namely P1 (10%; 59%), P2 (12%; 63), P3 (13%; 68%). The results of this study indicate that the protein and energy balance not significant effect the birth weight of the lamb and the weight of the Garut ewe. Keywords : Protein, Energy, Garut sheep.

Hal ini yang membuat masyarakat umum bimbang dalam menentukan tempat untuk menabung. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 5 bank yang ada di Kota Ternate. Keputusan yang diberikan oleh metode Moora adalah hasil perengkingan setiap alternatif berdasarkan kriteria penilaian dengan preferensi dan bobot kriteria yang seimbang sehingga menghasilkan keputusan yang lebih objektif.Penambahan bobot kriteria untuk setiap alternatif dapat mempengaruhi penilaian dan hasil perhitungan metode Moora. Hasil dari implementasi yang sesuai dengan data dari bank terkait belum sesuai dengan perancangan karena nilai bobot kriteria yang tidak seimbang dapat mempengaruhi hasil akhir.Maka dari itu dilakukan pengujian metode untuk mendapatkan hasil perengkingan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan calon nasabah.Sehingga peneliti melakukan pengujian metode dengan menggunakan bobot alternatif yang seimbang dan mendapatkan hasil akhir yang sesuai dengan perancangan sistem.Dimana nilai tertinggi dari pengujian metode yaitu Bank Mandiri dengan hasil akhir 6.8 dan Bank BCA mempunyai nilai terendah yaitu 5.35.Pengujian sistem menggunakan white box telah berhasil dilakukan, dimana basispathtesting yang digunakan untuk melakukanpengujianjalur independentterlewatisemua. Hasil dari implementasi telah sesuai dengan perancangan dan semua modul program telah berfungsi dengan baik.Kata kunci: Sistem Pendukung Keputusan, Pemilihan Bank, Tempat Menabung, Moora.Abstract: Many banks in Indonesia, both public and private, provide many different offers and advantages to customers. This makes the general public hesitant in determining where to save. This research was conducted on five banks in Ternate City. The decision given by the Moora method is the result of ranking each alternative based on the assessment criteria with balanced preferences and criteria weights to produce a more objective decision. The addition of standards weights for each option can affect the assessment and calculation results of the Moora method. The implementation results following the data from the related bank are not following the design because the unbalanced weight value of the criteria can affect the final result. Therefore, testing methods are carried out to obtain ranking results following the needs of prospective customers. So the researchers tested the technique using balanced alternative weights and got the outcome following the system design. The highest value from the testing method is Bank Mandiri, with a final mark of 6.8, and Bank BCA has the lowest score of 5.35. System testing using a white box has been successfully carried out, where all the basic path testing used to perform independent path testing has been passed. This article aims to demonstrate how creative practice resulting in a design-art exhibition can function as a platform to deliver knowledge and simultaneously collect data on the correlation between symmetry and beauty. The paper includes a short glimpse of my research of a series of split plywood pieces made by Israeli industrial designer Yaacov Kaufman (b. Poland, 1945) as part of his independent creative research practice. In my research, still in progress, I combine mixed- methods tools in my methodology, including curatorial practice involving exhibition visitors as ex- ternal research participants. The artefacts analysis, supported by the preliminary results from the questionnaires, expresses how harmony and balance, terms frequently related to symmetry, are achieved thanks to intuitive decisions made as part of Kaufman’s reflective discussion following repetitive actions. I argue that the never-ending struggle between art and design that especially characterizes Kaufman’s professional identity, as embodied in the artefacts and in his reflection on his own process, plays a significant role in transforming the series into visual research examining symmetry as an inherent component of aesthetic perception. Kaufman’s creative process moves be- tween perfection and beauty to ugliness and imperfection, between the idea that everything is possi- ble and the assumption that there may be only one answer: symmetry.

The application of microwave absorption materials, which can effectively convert electromagnetic energy into thermal energy and/or other forms of energy, can effectively solve the increasingly serious electromagnetic pollution. As a type of promising microwave absorption material, ternary transition metal carbides/nitrides MAX phases possess layered structure and superior conduction loss capability. However, poor impedance matching and single polarization loss type seriously hinder their improvement of microwave absorption performance. High-entropy engineering is expected to be an effective strategy to address the above problems simultaneously. Herein, a series of low-, medium-, and high-entropy MAX phases with Ti2AlC structure were successfully synthesized and their structure, composition, and morphology were comprehensively characterized. High-entropy MAX phase (Ti1/5Zr1/5V1/5Nb1/5Ta1/5)2AlC presents excellent microwave absorption performance with the optimal minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of −47 dB at 11.92 GHz (a thickness of 2.4 mm) and optimal effective absorption bandwidth of 3.92 GHz between 8.48 and 12.4 GHz (a thickness of 2.78 mm), which are better than those of our prepared low-/medium-entropy MAX phases as well as most of the other previously reported MAX phases. Such excellent microwave absorption performance of (Ti1/5Zr1/5V1/5Nb1/5Ta1/5)2AlC is attributed to high-entropy engineering, which not only optimizes the impedance matching through regulating permittivity but also introduces more polarization loss type and amount. This work reveals that high-entropy engineering is not only a workable method to enhance the microwave absorption performance in MAX phases, but also an effective strategy to tailor the balance between impedance matching and loss capability through compositional design in single-phase systems.

Sari. Pembibitan merupakan tahapan awal dalam budidaya tanaman kelapa sawit, kualitas bibit akan mempengaruhi hasil yang akan diperoleh nantinya. Faktor yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan bibit diantaranya adalah ketersediaan unsur hara yang dapat diperoleh dari pemberian pupuk anorganik dan organik. Pemberian pupuk anorganik tanpa diimbangi pupuk organik dapat merusak sifat tanah, sehingga diperlukan pupuk organik yaitu dengan memanfaatkan urin ternak sebagai pupuk organik cair, dengan menambahkan pupuk organik cair pada tanah, maka dapat membantu proses pertumbuhan tanaman karena pupuk organik cair urin ternak mengandung hormon pertumbuhan bagi tanaman serta mudah diserap tanaman. Penelitian dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Ciparanje, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran, Kabupaten Sumedang, pada bulan September 2017 sampai bulan Februari 2018. Ordo tanah yang digunakan adalah Inceptisol. Tipe curah hujan menurut klasifikasi Schmidt dan Ferguson bertipe C dengan ketinggian tempat ±780 m dpl. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 11 perlakuan yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali dengan jumlah tanaman di setiap plot 2 tanaman. Perlakuan terdiri dari pemberian urin sapi, kambing dan kelinci dengan konsentrasi 40 mL/L air, 120 mL/L air dan 200 mL/L air, serta perlakuan kontrol (tanpa perlakuan) dan pemberian pupuk urea 3,3 g/tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan urin ternak memberikan pengaruh baik terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman, yang tercermin dari bobot kering tanaman. Perlakuan urin kambing konsentrasi 40 mL/L air dan 120 mL/L air cenderung berpengaruh baik terhadap bobot kering tajuk, bobot kering akar, dan nisbah tajuk akar bibit kelapa sawit.Kata Kunci: urin ternak, urin sapi, urin kambing, urin kelinci, kelapa sawit. Abstract. Seedling is an initial stage in the cultivation of oil palm, seed quality will affect the results that will be obtained later. Factor affecting the growth of seedlings of which the availability of nutrients which can be obtained from inorganic and organic fertilizer. Application of inorganic fertilizer without an organic fertilizer balanced can be damage the nature of the soil, necessitating organic fertilizer the urine of livestocks as organic liquid, adding organic liquid fertilizer to the soil, can help the plants to growth because organic liquid fertilizer of livestocks urine contain growth hormone for plants and easily absorbed to the plants. The research was conducted in Experimental Station of Ciparanje, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, Sumedang, from September 2017 to February 2018. Ordo of the soil used is Inceptisol. Precipitation type according to Schmidt and Ferguson's classification of type C with ± 780 meters above sea level altitude. Experiment was using a randomized block design (RBD) with 11 treatments with 3 replications and the number of plants in each plot of 2 plants. The treatment consists the urine of cows, goats and rabbits with some concentration of 40 mL/L of water, 120 mL/L of water and 200 mL/L of water as well as a comparison treatment, control (untreated) and the provision of urea fertilizer 3,3 g/plant. The results showed that the utilization some kinds of cattle urine provides a good effect on plant growth, which is reflected from the dry weight of the plant. Treatment goat’s urine concentration 40 mL/L of water and 120 mL/L of water tends to affect on the dry weight shoot, dry weight root, and shoot root ratio on seedling oil palm.Keywords: livestock urine, cow’s urine, goat’s urine, rabbit’s urine, oil palm.

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapangan Peternakan (LLP), Program Studi Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Darussalam, Banda Aceh dan penetasan telur dilakukan di Laboratorium Ilmu dan Teknologi Produksi Ternak Unggas, Program Studi Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Syiah Kuala, tanggal 12 Februari hingga 19 Mei 2017. Penelitian menggunakan 24 ekor betina ALPU, produksi LLP Unsyiah. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RaL), terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, masing – masing terdiri dari dua ekor ayam betina ALPU. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah pemberian substitusi pakan organik dan komersil yang terdiri dari 18% protein dan 2800 kcal energi, 20% protein dan 2800 kcal energi, 18% protein dan 2900 kcal energi, 16% protein dan 3000 kcal energi. Parameter yang diamati meliputi berat telur, fertilitas telur, daya tetas telur, sex rasio, berat badan DOC. Data aspek teknis dianalisis dengan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), jika didapatkan hasil yang berbeda nyata, maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Jarak Berganda Duncan (Steel danTorrie, 1993). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan substitusi pakan organik dan komersil meningkatkan fertilitas telur dan pertambahan berat badan DOC umur 1 minggu. diberikan imbangan protein 16% dan energi 3000 kcal memiliki fertilitas dan pertambahan berat badan DOC yang baik.The Effect of Organic and Commercial Feed Substituion on The Quality of Crossbreeding Chicken Eggs (Male Kamaras and Female ALPU)Abstract. The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of organic and commercial feed substitution on egg quality resulting from crossbreeding male Kamaras and female ALPU. The study was conducted in FieldLaboratory of Animal Husbandry, Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, and egg hatchery conducted at the Laboratory of Poultry Production Science and Technology, Livestock StudyProgram, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University . Since February 12 until May 19, 2017. The study used 24 female of ALPU, produced by LLP Unsyiah. The design used was Completely Randomized Design (RAL),consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications, each consisting of two female ALPU. The experimental treatmentswere organic and commercial feed substitution consisting of 18% protein and 2800 kcal of energy, 20% proteinand 2800 kcal of energy, 18% protein and 2900 kcal of energy, 16% protein and 3000 kcal of energy. Parameters observed included egg weight, egg fertility, egg hatchability, sex ratio, body weight DOC. Technical as pect data were analyzed with Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), if the results were significantly different, then continued with Duncan Multiple Range Test (Steel and Terry, 1993). The results showed that organic and commercial feed substitution increased egg fertility and weight gain of 1 week old DOC. It was concluded that feeding a protein balance of 16% and 3000 kcal of energy has good fertility and weight gain DOC.

Purpose Even though copper–tungsten has shown signs of potentials, relatively little is currently known about its appropriateness for photovoltaic application. This paper aims to evaluate the suitability of copper-tungs oxides as photovoltaic absorbers while investigating the consequences of oxygen content variation. Design/methodology/approach Using profilometry, Hall measurements, Seebeck test and spectrophotometry, grown samples were defined. Samples of 5 standard cubic centimeters per minute (sccm) and 7 sccm exhibited appropriate characteristics and were further tested using personal computer one dimension (PC1D) computational simulation at the system stage. To grow materials with an average thickness below 0.45 µm, magnetron co-sputtering was used. Three sample sets, varied by oxygen flow rate, were made with flow rates of 5sccm, 7sccm and 9sccm, respectively. Findings Some samples proved to be effective absorbers, using a cadmium telluride device as the criterion of output calculation, with one sample chosen as ideal for each type of flow rate. For the chosen samples, an optimum thickness was also obtained, i. It was discovered that thinner cells, optimal for both groups with 0.6 µm, performed better to than other thicknesses. Research limitations/implications The material also demonstrated prospects for applications in window layers, but more needs to be known. Practical implications Thin film material properties and their operating processes are relatively complex, so it is important to find simple and cost-effective ways to forecast performance. While relatively new, numerical modeling has proven to be very useful in defining the critical properties of thin film devices, thereby helpful for predictions of performance. Solar cell capacitance simulator one dimension, amorphous semiconductor analysis, personal computer one dimension (PC1D), analysis of micro-electronic and photonic structures and automat for simulation for heterostructures (33) are several common models in the thin film industry. Due to its availability and relative ease of use, PC1D was used in this project. Social implications As the search for the balance among performance, cost, reliability and availability continue, more absorber components continue to evolve, notably from the chalcogenides. Because of their ability to absorb light, ternary transition metal chalcogenides are useful in the production of hydrogen and in the energy storage sector, as well as in the production of light-emitting diodes and solar photovoltaic (PV). Originality/value There are several methods for the manufacture of copper–tungsten alloys, but the process of combinatorial sputtering of magnetrons provides satisfactory results even for the manufacture of various other materials. Cu2WSe4, an excellent alternative to sputtering, is one of the very few copper–tungsten selenide materials tested, synthesized by hot simple injection to have strong crystallinity and lacks impurity. The optical properties of colloidal Cu2WSe4 show that Schottky diode–like behaviors are present in the material, suggesting its potential for use in solar cells. Cu-W alloys could have a lot more to give the PV industry, by all indications. Further exploration of the oxides by this work is thus justified. Transparent conducting oxides, interfacial layers or charge-transporting compounds are commonly used as transition metal oxides. Nevertheless, as absorbers, metal oxides such as BiFeO3 and the traditionally highly studied Cu2O have been tested, with Cu2O showing a conversion efficiency of up to 10% under particular conditions. This displays strong electronic and optical properties, so there might be some possibility of studying other PV absorption metal oxides. The optical properties of colloidal Cu2WSe4 show that Schottky diode–like behaviors are present in the material, suggesting its potential for use in solar cells.
