Повний текст джерелаThis analysis has allowed us to shed light on the existence of two existence of two discourses. The first, which is linked to the dominant social group, the "French French", reveals on ignorance of the "French Maghrebis". The latter are perceived as possessing a certain mentality, or even physical characteristics, which distance or exclude them from the "European norm". This concept of the "Beurs" is a discursive construct linked to the contemporary economic, political and social crises. The second is the discourse by which the "Beurs" attempt to legitimize their own existence, often masking this goal behind humour and apparent detachment. Their aim is to assert their identity as full French citizens by underscoring their cultural differences and showing that such differences are in no way contrary to the values of the French Republic. Theirs is an essentially pacifist discourse, marked by universal values

Повний текст джерелаIn the context of post-Colonial Japan this dissertation attaches itself to explore the concept of a contemporary writer, a so-Called Zainichi: Yang Seog-Il’s “Asiatic body”. Having defined the field of interpretations covered by this term, our central question will be: in Yang Seog-Il’s literature how is the “Asiatic body” engaged in a process of overcoming this colonial and post-Colonial era? While reading Yang’s works, we shall use as an intertext and a mirror, some literary cases of contemporary francophone North African descendant writers (especially Azouz Begag’s texts). The first part shall map the socio-Historical context of these two diasporic populations (the Decolonized Zainichi in Japan and the Descendant from North African immigrants in France), that appeared in the last century, and in the same time, the birth of their so-Called post-Colonial literature. In the second part, we intend to make an in-Depth interpretation of our corpus, in taking up the manifestation of subjectivity of the (ex) colonized as the “Asiatic body”, using the Mikhaïl Bakhtine’s epistemology. The third part at last is devoted to a new reading of the literary works we are interested in: by establishing a link between the parricide as a literary theme and the “Asiatic body”, the wish of the son of post-Colonial Japan, Yang Seog-Il, to eliminate the father appears to renegotiate symbolical aspects that must be analysed. Hence, the feminization of the “Asiatic body” undertaken by Yang has to be read under the light of a feminist post-Colonial criticism that might uncover new themes of domination

Повний текст джерелаAt the intersection of comparative literature, gender studies and postcolonial studies, this dissertation aims to study the renewal of the Bildungsroman in the novels of three contemporary French authors: Azouz Begag, Farida Belghoul and Leïla Sebbar. This work focuses on how the novels of the three writers express the social tensions the young protagonists are subjected to during their interactions with the dominant society. We strive to analyze how the conventions of the literary genre of the traditional Bildungsroman shift subtly in order to inscribe the social barriers in the textual body of literature and to propose border zones in place of the dominant society as living spaces. The first part of our work seeks to reconsider the traditional avenues of the analysis of littérature beur, the corpus of which the three authors belong to. The second part tackles the renewal of the genre of the Bildungsroman in these texts by in particular problematizing the presence of these young protagonists of Algerian immigrant descent in the French society. The act of naming and the dichotomy of school and family constitute the main entry point in the analysis of the novels. The third part concentrates on the textual and narrative strategies by which the three authors realize the inscription of bodies seen as foreign in the public spaces of the Métropole and by which they propose new narratives to set in writing the postcolonial experience of the young protagonists. The irony, the subversive gaze and the appropriation of transitory and border zones lie at the center of our analysis

This corpus of 116 titles is composed of fiction and documentaries, comic strips, novels, Cdbooks, theatrical plays. Part One examines this corpus, its authors, and its mains themes, especially those about travel and exile. The concept of migrance stems frome its ties with resilience and alliance. Part two aimes to the question the state of childhood, both from a historical and poetical point of view, and evend down to its innovative illustrations. Part three considers the academic and institutionnal appropriation of this litterature its implication and didactic possibilities

Повний текст джерелаThe topic of this dissertation is the study of space in the novel of the border and it is based upon three novels which belong to the literature of immigration of three countries : the beur literature in France, the literature of immigration of haitian origin in Canada and the chicana literature in the United States. We have studied Le Gone du Chaâba written by Azouz Begag, Comment faire l'amour avec un nègre sans se fatiguer by Dany Laferrière, and Peregrinos de Aztlán by Miguel Méndez. The topic of these novels is migration and the encounter between two cultures ; it is also about the difficult process of assimilation/integration of characters within the foreign space. First, we present the notion of the border and of the contact zones where the literature of the border springs out. Then the space under scrutiny is studied as the general space where foreigners arrive as much as the space of origin for them. It is within this space of arrival that the encounter between foreigners and nationals occurs, and is shown as collective representation. We analyse the organization of space in the novels, starting first from the notions of inner and outer space, then focusing on the window and the door as mediating elements between two spaces. From this first structure of space, we have found out three levels of space : the space of the private, the collective space and the public space. Other spaces open up : the oniric space, the illusory space and the one built by the characters' imagination through writing. Another space appears as the result of the collective imaginary world, this stereotypical space which is a distorted image of places that characters do not recognize. The relationships between two cultures in a space that becomes space of the border are called back at the end of my thesis and rely on the notion of border developed by Michel Butor which allows to gather all the elements pointed out in our research

Повний текст джерелаAs a starting point, this thesis bases on an observation related to the evolution of the use of irony in the literary text from the maghreb of the eighties, a difficult period. In order to reason this, the following objectives have been drawn : to derive, with regard to irony, its transmission modes, its mechanisms as well as its functions, as part of an author reader communication. Thus, the first part of this work defines irony, operationally, presents the corpus and elaborates a reading frame. Then, the analysis follows two perspectives : that of semiology, with the reading of the epitexts, and that of narratology, with the reading of the extracts, according to the narrator, the character and the situation modes. The conclusions show that irony has a conflicting origin, and that its functions are generally meant for the exteriorization and or anti-establishment, to lead to a heuristic aim. It constitutes, therefore, a real evolution in the glance, the writing and the author reader relations, in the french written literature from the maghreb of that time
