The article is devoted to the study of the relevance of anthropological issues in the beginning of twentieth century and socio-cultural background of the anthropological sciences. The specificity of the subject and method of anthropology as a science in general focused on the systematization of empirical material which was studied. In this context, the logic of the formation of cultural / social anthropology and its instrumental interest to the video productions of technical media is studied. Anthropology tried to form a scientific understanding of human world as a holistic phenomenon (combining theoretical generalizations based on empirical data), while cultural anthropology focused on the study of cultural diversity. Visual anthropology emerged as a crossing of the fields of cultural anthropology as an academic discipline and the field of application of technical optical media, and thus a new source of empirical material. The gradual accumulation of empirical material in the "field researches" of anthropologists allowed to significantly expand the subject area and optics of anthropological science. And also it allowed visual anthropology to go gradually beyond the instrumental function that was originally intended for it. Meanwhile, the text-centered view of ethnographic material led to the transform of the culture of indigenous peoples into the codes of Western civilization, and hence to its reduction. Any of the various authentic non-Western cultures fundamentally distinguishes them from the unification style of the modern culture. The accumulation of video production by ethnography has allowed not only to preserve the disappearing authentic cultures, but also to develop methods of systematization of visual material, as well as to understand the role of visual anthropology as an autonomous discipline of the humanities. The integration of two aspects of visual anthropology (the production and study of images) casts doubt the classical style of positivist science: in particular, on the one hand the status of the subject as an observer or a spectator, on the one hand, and the monopoly of text optics, on the other.

The article is devoted to the analysis of historical dynamics of university and its classification of cultural types. The main part of attention is concerned over the classical model of university and its transformations. The university carries out a social institution. It has absence of its own an autonomous field of culture, which is a form of spiritual rather than social production. Education is a set of social institutions that produce the social structure directly, that is, social technology with the purpose of human and social production of the new model. The society of the late Modern becomes a collection of social institutions (not only educational, but also legal, political, economical, and even in a certain sense cultural) and industries (specialized fields of material production). Education in this sense is a form of human production in general, while economics, politics and law are generally aimed at the indirect production of people through the logic of much complicated institutes movement: economics, politics, law (goods, power structures and laws). Depending on the national model of education, universities determine the priority of certain educational strategies. The university as a social technology, based on the new sample of the anthropological model, forms disciplinary practices that function for production of habitus and cultural capital, and also provides identification "under the auspices of the concept of culture" (B. Readings) in the Modern era. This cultural-historical period is characterized by the fact that social control is carried out not with the help of personal coercion, but of the passage through institutions. A higher educational institution in the era of Modernity is the most consistent embodiment of the idea of a social institution as an intermediary between spiritual and material production. Culture in this context acts as a form of "high culture," that is, as a way of human existence just like this, with value orientations on the foundations of universal cult of reason. The "Cultural Mission" of the University is a mediation between the regulatory ideas of the Modern and a certain type of state that is, to be a social technology of nation-building. The technology of cultivating reason is provided by studying at the Philosophy Faculty and is an obligatory philosophical component for other faculties in the German model, created by V. Humboldt. The formation of the cult of universal reason and self-sufficient subject is the basic task of the classical university and its leading sociocultural function and cultural mission.

Given the state sponsorship of film production in Germany, this article examines general mechanisms in the formation of meaning in German filmmaking. With reference to Schimank’s framework of agent–structure dynamics and based on a constructivist understanding of the world, the results of 97 expert interviews with screenwriters, directors, producers, distributors, cinema theatre operators, funding representatives and public television editors, as well as document analyses, show that the medium’s construction of reality is anything but unconditioned. On the contrary, due to the fundamental role of film funding and public television in the agent constellations intertwined with social structures that shape the film production process in Germany, the medium’s key communicators are confronted with expectations that go far beyond economic parameters. More precisely, the article reveals that German filmmaking reflects a political dimension, and expresses hierarchies and constraints that prompt struggles for legitimate meaning and challenge any autonomous practice in the field.

This Article is written based on the research “Religious Show as Cultural Production Field: Study of Mamah dan Aa Beraksi TV program on Urban Indonesian TV Channel Indosiar”. This research based on assumption that religious show as cultural products are generated in an autonomous domain involving actors - production teams, creative teams, preachers, emcees and audiences. Using ethnographic methods, through close observation, this research finds that the religious show indicate the logic interpretation of religious criteria represented by the preachers, and the market criteria which the production team is responsible for. Both of these criteria are mixed in producing religious show. On that context, the theme of low carbon emission has succeeded in entering as a theme that meets market and religious criteria. From the market side, this theme has relevance with the protection of a greater public interest. Meanwhile, in terms of religious criteria, bringing the issue of low carbon emission into religious shows is the same as carrying out a religious mission to reduce the negative impact of bubble carbon.

The article analyzes the phenomenon of intra-city inequality under the rule of city-forming enterprises in the northern single-industry (oil) town by employing R. Brubaker’s cognitive-linguistic version of social constructivism. The “capital” of the LUKOIL Oil Company — Kogalym (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra) — was chosen as a research focus. The mechanisms of production and contestation of intra-city inequality in Kogalym are analyzed based on complex historical-field research data. The corporate imageineering (Ch. Rutheiser’s term) of Kogalym, ritual aspects of the town culture, as well as various discursive frameworks of the town’s selfpresentation are considered. We focus our attention on the complex social antagonism between oil workers and non-oil workers; we investigate its causes and dynamics, specifically, through the case of the transformation of the Kogalym Day celebration. We conclude that — in the context of a single-industry town — the cultural hegemony of the dominant group is ensured through closely related practices: the corporate unification of the cultural landscape of the town, consolidation of the dominant group’s point of view in the local historical narrative, reframing of the professional holiday of the dominant group as town-wide, official holiday commemorations, and gift rituals. The grassroot frustration on the part of the excluded is manifested in the form of a folklore reaction to the symbols of the “dominant” group, the creation of a historical narrative and places of memory alternative to the official canon. At the same time, the specific life cycle of the northern single-industry town’s population considerably diminishes its cultural diversity.

Songgungni Culture, formed in the late Bronze Age of Korean peninsula, is characterized by the increased power of chieftains, uses of bronzeware, and constructions of huge burial mounds known as Guhoekmyo. The discussion on the difference of Songgungni Culture from previous cultural forms has been divided into the view to see it as foreign influences and that to see it derived from the previous local cultures. The author suggested the latter view first in 1992 but the findings accumulated since then lead us to rethink the origin of Songgungni Culture from a perspective that conjoins these two oft-conflicting views. The Zhou Dynasty and paddy field agrarian culture in the lower area of the Yangtze River influenced the formation of Songgungni Culture given the following findings. First, the Zhou Dynasty’s ceramic art called Beating Technique was discovered in Songgungni Culture with other artifacts such as weights made of stone, bottom parts of Chinese earthenware, and the jar coffins indicating the existence of ascribed status. Second, the excavations of paddy fields, Yunnan- style kilns, independent pillar structures, flask-shaped storage holes, and pestles suggest the propagation of the paddy field rice culture of the lower Yangtze along the coastline of the Shandong Peninsula. Under these foreign influences, Songguk-ri type potteries and other creative agricultural tools were produced. The differentiation of the previous joint family system into the nuclear produced lots of downsized dwelling areas which characterize Songguk-ri culture. And the innovation in the yielding capacity made possible by paddy fields also shows an aspect of Chiefdom settled into this area during the time. The surplus production of this period was not enough to advance towards the autonomous production of bronzeware. The increased size of chieftains’ tombs did not contain enough burial goods. Given the aforementioned findings, Songgungni Culture could be understood as an early stage of Chiefdom, just getting out of the state of fragmented society.

The article contributes to creating an outline of the significant postwar theoretical approaches that examine the role, purpose, and significance of architecture in war and war crimes. Starting from the Clausewitz thesis that ?war is not autonomous?, this paper attempts to reveal ?the blood that has dried in the codes? (Foucault), politics hidden behind the four walls of architecture. From the concepts of Brutality in Stone (Kluge), Warchitecture (Herscher) or Forensic Architecture (Weizman), through the lenses of architecture, the article exposes war, politics, and ideologies that shape and drive architecture by reimagining and repurposing it both in its primary, functional and cultural, representative sense. A shift from ?the era of the witness? (Felman) to the decade of evidence (Weizman) promotes architecture and its remains to the level of science, global governing, and law. The connection of timely-distanced emancipatory practices influenced by Holocaust studies establishes a discursive field for architecture as a performative rather than representative practice. The theoretical frame of the postwar landscape as second nature (Adorno) is crucial for discussing the role of architecture in the Holocaust. Furthermore, it stresses the work of Herscher and Weizman as a contribution to the critique of the depoliticized processes of resolution of the contemporary war crimes and post-conflict reconciliation. Architecture as a societal practice could potentially have a central position in memory and knowledge production, as well as the production of a counter-public sphere.

The article deals with the development of Arctic entrepreneurship in the Russian Federation. The development of the Arctic territories at the present stage is of increased interest to almost all world powers, since the Arctic region is becoming of strategic importance for strengthening the national security of states, so this issue is paying attention to both russian and foreign researchers. The main indicators of small business development in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation are analyzed. It is concluded that small business is developing unevenly across the Arctic regions of the Russian Federation. According to the level of small business development, there are two groups of territories. The first category includes the Nenets autonomous district, Yamalo-Nenets and Chukotka autonomous districts, where the development of the business sector is significantly lower than in other regions. The second group includes the Krasnoyarsk territory, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions, where Arctic entrepreneurship is well developed. This division explains the features of small business development, taking into account the natural-climatic, geographical and socio-economic features of the Arctic territories. Proposals aimed at the development of Arctic entrepreneurship and Arctic territories are formulated. Entrepreneurship in the Arctic zone is a necessary condition for the development of these territories. It is necessary to create small mobile points for the delivery of essential goods and services, provide services in the field of cultural and educational activities, provide additional educational services, and develop social and transport infrastructure. An important direction for the development of Arctic entrepreneurship can be an innovative sphere aimed at the production of goods and services that increase energy conservation. Additional measures are required to support entrepreneurship in this area, including programs for the development of business of indigenous minorities.

Among the researchers of the visual, visualization is singled out as one of the universal characteristics of modern culture. This trend is due to the growth of visual artefacts that are rapidly filling the socio-cultural space. Many factors contributed to this, and one of the main ones is the development of media communications. The discourse on visuality went beyond the boundaries of Art Studies, which entailed the study of non-artistic visuality – the everyday life of visible things. As a result of visual experience expansion, the processes of production and consumption of visual images have changed, which is reflected in social practices. Terminological difficulties encountered in the field of visual studies speak to the problems of visual studies institutionalization. Nevertheless, we can distinguish two polar theoretical approaches: according to the first approach, the image is understood as a "cultural" representation mediated by various ideological practices. This approach has been influenced by constructivism, which is reflected in the interest in analyzing the role of images in the formation of social and cultural meanings. Also, the representational theory of imagery deals with issues related to the view of the observer and its conditioning by various scopic regimes. This paradigm is considered to be subject to emancipation trends. It asserts the change of the concept of a passive spectator, captured by images, to the concept of a spectator, who actively participates in the creation of visual images. The second approach, which is considered in the article, interprets the image from the phenomenology point of view. The phenomenological approach to visual imagery focuses on the image-presentation concept, which exists autonomously from the observer, in the mode of semantic closure, which means that the visual image has its own content that is difficult for the subject to access. The presented concept excludes reading the image only as a reflection or representation of the socio-cultural field. It is concluded that the image theory is undergoing significant changes, and vision and the viewer are becoming more independent.

This article comprises a comprehensive statistical and sociological examination of topical problems that Ural Federal District rural residents face in their socio-economic, reproductive and life practices. The authors aim 1) to reveal the level of demographic and socio-economic self-sufficiency of the Tyumen Region rural inhabitants (including Khanty-Mansi and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Areas), compared with other territories of the Ural Federal District on the long-time series dynamics of the last two decades; and 2) to assess the institutional drivers of growth in agriculture linked with the all-Russian contexts. The authors have exposed a set of problems during the field expeditions of 2020 to the south of the Tyumen Region, using in-depth interviews and case studies with various representatives of the local communities (peasants, farmers, subsidiary farm owners, agricultural workers, authorities, businesses, rural enterprise management, country house owners). There is an obvious and widespread weakening of the local self-government in rural areas; the socio-cultural ties between countryside status groups are hardly established; there is a deficit in mental and behavioral patterns of self-organization of different in subcultures rural households; countryside self-governing communities are almost completely destroyed, mainly due to tight bureaucratic control and over-centralization. As the statistics for 1990 to 2019 shows, the rural settlements in the south of the Tyumen Region stably vary within the weighted average of 525,000 people. In the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, there is an increase in rural population from the weighted average of 100,000 people at the beginning of the study period, up to 125,000 people in the end. In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area, the growth of the rural population is noted as well, from 80,000 to 87,000 people. The comparison with the other regions of the Ural Federal District on identical statistical indicators shows that the rural population change is uneven. In the Kurgan and Chelyabinsk Regions, one can observe an outflow: 490,000 vs. 320,000, and 680,000 vs. 610,000, respectively. While in the Sverdlovsk Region, an inflow is noticed in the observed interval: from 590,000 to 650,000. This article demonstrates the dynamics of agricultural production in the Ural Federal District in physical indicators. A regression for the six considered regions for 14 observed years (2005-2018) is built to disclose which types of agricultural products had the greatest impact on the dynamics of agricultural production. The regression analysis presents the specificity of the Ural Federal District rural areas development in terms of statistics, while modern reproduction practices on these territories are reflected through an analysis of qualitative data from cases and in-depth interviews, obtained in expeditions of 2020. The scientific novelty in applying the “hard” (statistical assessments of the Ural Federal District rural areas development) and “soft” (in-depth interviews and case studies) methods of modern reproductive practices in rural areas investigation in combination for the first time.

Since reform and opening-up, China’s eastern coastal cities have taken the lead in integrating into the global production network and city network based on neoliberalism and economic globalization. Entering the 21st-Century, the deep inland cities in Western China (DICWC), which are underdeveloped at the national scale, are keeping with the Belt and Road Initiative and high-quality development strategy and exploring the localization path of urban globalization. Among them, Xining and Yinchuan, the two provincial capitals, have adopted the urban globalization process driven by the sports festival and cultural festival of the “Tour of Qinghai Lake” and the “China-Arab States Expo”, respectively. Based on the field research data, this paper summarizes and compares the globalization paths and effects of Xining and Yinchuan driven by international festivals. The main conclusions include: Firstly, the international festivals are (central/provincial/autonomous region/city) power-led, that is, the government tries to promote the integration of inland areas into globalization, and they are powerful tools and strategies to promote the process of urban globalization and local social and economic development. International festivals can enhance the city’s political and cultural influence and effectively promote the city’s integration into the global system. In contrast, the “China-Arab States Expo” as a political, cultural, and economic exchange platform can promote the economic globalization of the cities more than the “Tour of Qinghai Lake” as a sports festival. Secondly, the actor-network in international festivals in inland cities is very distinct, with the government as the leader (initiator, organizer, and executor), enterprises as the specific participants, the media as the booster of news reports and the public as the indirect and passive participant. Thirdly, from the perspective of urban globalization, the “Tour of Qinghai Lake” is only a sports festival, however, the political intervention and economical guidance of the “China-Arab States Expo” is more obvious and direct. Fourthly, international festivals in inland cities established a new global image by promoting the modernization drive of city facilities, especially creating a new international urban space. However, the model of the international festival-driven globalization of DICWC is still in the primary stage. Moreover, after the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2019, the globalization of Xining and Yinchuan, driven by the sports event and cultural festival, has been impacted to varying degrees. The city urgently needs to seek a more stable driving model to promote its own globalization development. The “economical marginal effect” of international festivals in inland cities is declining. Therefore, the urban globalization of DICWC needs the related further innovations in organization and the improvement of the stability of international festivals.

Within the framework of a new interdisciplinary scientific scientific field – epistemological urbanism – the authors develop the idea of the human right to their city and show the epistemological nature of this right, which is explained by the fact that it is conditioned by the processes of cognition and scientific communication. Three main provisions are substantiated. Firstly, the city is an intelligent system. “The right to your city” is a specific right to scientific and intellectual production and consumption. Such a right is not realized in every locality designated as a city, but only where there are conditions for intellectual dynamics – where art, education and science are developing. Secondly, the intellectual system of the city has autonomy. Each city has its own intellectual resource. Realizing the right to their city, citizens are involved in the activity of the city's scientific and intellectual autonomy. In other words, a city where there are opportunities to realize the “right to the city” generates an autonomous scientific school or a set of scientific schools. Thirdly, cities (we are talking only about those cities where the right to their own city is realizable) how research centers form a scientific network. Not a scientific consortium with common ideas and goals, but a network based on the principles of proliferation. The authors insist on the decentralization of science not for the purpose of its enclavization, but for the purpose of developing the potential, multi-vector and intellectual self-realization of urban communities themselves. It is shown that the development of science as a whole (at the global or state levels) can be ensured by the heterogeneity of science itself (in this case, due to the development of urban universities): integration and differentiation give rise to an integration scientific and communicative process.

The article touches upon the issues of law enforcement and court practice related to the collective rights of aboriginal communities. The purpose of the article is to reveal the content of the right to self-determination through the prism of the most significant cases related to indigenous peoples. The methodological basis of research is the general principles of scientific knowledge, widely used in works in the field of law: system-structural, formal-legal, comparative-legal, historical, methods of analysis and synthesis, analogies, etc. Particular attention was paid to the formal legal method, which was used by the authors of the study to analyze international judicial practice on the rights of indigenous peoples, as well as, in some cases, the national legislation of the countries participating in a particular case. The main results, scope of application. The right to self-determination of indigenous peoples is multicomponent and includes a number of specific elements and facets of interpretation. The authors have made an attempt to reveal the fundamental elements of the right to self-determination of indigenous peoples, which, in their opinion, consist of: the right to sovereignty as such, or autonomy and recognition as collective subjects of law, the right to land and resources, traditional nature management, autonomous education, mothertongue and culture. For each of the above-mentioned elements, a specific case is described, which was considered in international courts, primarily in the International Court of Justice, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, the ECHR and etc.Conclusions. International recognition of a state through inclusion in the UN General Assembly is impossible without the permission of the Security Council; the issue of “effective occupation” has played and continues to play a large role in the issue of governance and sovereignty over a specific space and territory, and not only settlers, but also traditionally living indigenous peoples play a significant role;Indigenous peoples living in the coastal zone should have the right to dispose of income from the exploitation of the continental shelf; the relationship with the land is not only a matter of ownership and production, but a material and spiritual element that indigenous peoples must fully enjoy, if only to preserve their cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations; the status of “national minority” deprives the indigenous people of priority in the use of land for traditional reindeer herding; means of ensuring freedom of expression of indigenous peoples is an important element for the promotion of identity, language, culture, self-identification, collective rights.

The soft fruit industry is facing unprecedented challenges due to its reliance of manual labour. We are presenting a newly launched robotics initiative which will help to address the issues faced by the industry and enable automation of the main processes involved in soft fruit production. The RASberry project (Robotics and Autonomous Systems for Berry Production) aims to develop autonomous fleets of robots for horticultural industry. To achieve this goal, the project will bridge several current technological gaps including the development of a mobile platform suitable for the strawberry fields, software components for fleet management, in-field navigation and mapping, long-term operation, and safe human-robot collaboration. In this paper, we provide a general overview of the project, describe the main system components, highlight interesting challenges from a control point of view and then present three specific applications of the robotic fleets in soft fruit production. The applications demonstrate how robotic fleets can benefit the soft fruit industry by significantly decreasing production costs, addressing labour shortages and being the first step towards fully autonomous robotic systems for agriculture.

This article, written by JPT Technology Editor Chris Carpenter, contains highlights of paper OTC 30403, “Sand Production Management While Increasing Oil Production of a Gravel-Packed Well Equipped With Rate-Controlled-Production Autonomous Inflow-Control Devices in a Thin Heavy-Oil Reservoir Offshore China,” by Shuquan Xiong, Fan Li, and Congda Wei, CNOOC, et al., prepared for the 2020 Offshore Technology Conference Asia, originally scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur, 2–6 November. The paper has not been peer reviewed. Copyright 2020 Offshore Technology Conference. Reproduced by permission. A 2018 infill development campaign for a horizontal well offshore China targeted improved production through the installation of autonomous inflow-control devices (AICDs). However, because the well requires gravel packing to manage the sand, the integration of AICDs and the gravel pack was an issue. An integrated work flow was followed to deliver the AICD application successfully in an offshore heavy-oil reservoir with major uncertainties in remaining oil thickness and water/oil contacts. AICD completions ensured balanced contribution from all reservoir sections and limited water production significantly while the gravel pack kept the valves safe from the effects of sand. Field Description The field is a low-amplitude fault anticline oil field developed on the basement uplift. The structure is relatively gentle (Fig. 1). The reservoir lithology is mainly feldspathic quartz sandstone, with an average porosity of 22%, an average permeability of 397 md, a reservoir pressure coefficient of 1, an oil density of 0.92 g/cm3, and crude oil viscosity of 150 cp. The current methodology for gravel packing with ICDs/AICDs in the well uses a multiple alpha-wave technique whereby at least one conventional standalone screen joint is deployed at the toe of the well to provide a return path during the buildup of the alpha wave. The flow rate is reduced progressively to maximize the dune weight until screenout is observed. Once the gravel-packing operation is complete, the standalone-screen section at the toe is isolated before the well is placed on production. This technique does not allow a complete pack to be achieved and will allow more gravel to build up around the zonal isolation packers. This methodology is most applicable in unconsolidated sands with high net-to-gross reservoirs where borehole collapse will occur early in well life. One technique to provide sufficient flow path through the screen assembly is to integrate sliding sleeves into each screen joint. However, in long lateral wellbores, this may be prohibitively expensive and requires multiple manual manipulations as the wash pipe is retrieved. The use of a temporary bypass valve is recommended to enable standard gravel-packing operations to be performed with ICDs without significant additional cost, complexity, or compromise. The dissolvable material is used with a valve located within the ICD/AICD housing to provide a high-flow-area path from the annulus to the tubing during completion operations.

There is an increased interest for battery electric vehicles in multiple sectors, including agriculture. The potential for lowered environmental impact is one of the key factors, but there exists a knowledge gap between the environmental impact of on-road vehicles and agricultural work machinery. In this study, a life cycle assessment was performed on two smaller, self-driving battery electric tractors, and the results were compared to those of a conventional tractor for eleven midpoint characterisation factors, three damage categories and one weighted single score. The results showed that compared to the conventional tractor, the battery electric tractor had a higher impact in all categories during the production phase, with battery production being a majority contributor. However, over the entire life cycle, it had a lower impact in the weighted single score (−72%) and all three damage categories; human health (−74%), ecosystem impact (−47%) and resource scarcity (−67%). The global warming potential over the life cycle of the battery electric tractor was 102 kg CO2eq.ha−1 y−1 compared to 293 kg CO2eq.ha−1 y−1 for the conventional system. For the global warming potential category, the use phase was the most influential and the fuel used was the single most important factor.

Irish television drama initially contained a number of prestigious producers and writers who could use their knowledge and reputation as forms of organisational power. Today, soap opera, the dominant genre, depends on quick turnovers, short-term contracts and teams of writers. It offers little hope of building prestige or recognition. This article looks inside the production of Fair City, Ireland's most popular soap opera. The show's success and survival depend on a level of rationalisation that is unprecedented in Irish television drama. This new form of organisation is a response to the pressures of an increasingly commercialised broadcasting environment. Constraints of time and finance have reduced the professional autonomy and creativity of Fair City's producers, writers and actors. This article offers the hypothesis that this is one example, among many, of how market influence may bring about a ‘proletarianisation’ of formerly autonomous and prestigious cultural work.

Since the advent of Artificial Intelligence, many autonomous machines are making their way into the society. With the burgeoning development of autonomous systems like self-driving cars have come concerns about how machines will make moral decisions and thus a new field called Machine Ethics has emerged. Machine ethics deals with moral dilemmas in machines while interacting with humans, or possibly other machines as well, and ensures the decisions taken by the algorithm are morally acceptable. This is in contrast to computer ethics, which solely focuses on ethical problems and protocol surrounding humans' use of technology. In this article, we have explored the moral dilemmas faced by autonomous vehicles and have tried to train an artificial intelligence model that makes ethically acceptable decisions based on the data collected by the famous moral machine experiment. Here, we describe the results obtained from the model. Firstly, we summarize the accuracies obtained upon training multiple models with different techniques. Later, we document the variation of accuraciesin the model upon using the Hofstede model of six dimensions of national cultures as a factor when pre-processing the data.

The introduction of robotic devices into agricultural production processes makes it possible to increase the efficiency of work and the quality of the products and to ensure a new level of environmental safety. The need to develop this device is due to the economic inexpediency of using foreign analogues due to the low level of maintainability for domestic production, high maintenance costs, a narrow list of operations, and the lack of adaptation systems for a wide range of crops. (Research Purpose) The research purpose is in developing an autonomous robotic device for differentiated application of agrochemical agents in order to minimize their consumption, increase economic efficiency and environmental safety. (Materials and methods) The article presents the analyse of existing studies on monitoring of agricultural crops and fertilization and the requirements for the design of an autonomous robotic installation being created. There were conducted laboratory tests of a field robot model. (Results and discussion) The article describes a design of an autonomous field robot for differentiated application of agrochemicals designed for farms engaged in the crop sector. This device will allow performing a wide range of work, ranging from plant condition diagnostics to yield forecasting, reducing the proportion of human labour costs, improving environmental cleanliness and economic efficiency. _ Advanced well completions have proven to be an effective method of moderating gas breakthrough while producing a thin oil rim when placed in a heterogenous, carbonate reservoir. In addition, several studies have proven that the application of autonomous inflow control devices (AICDs) acts as a type of insurance policy against geological and dynamic reservoir uncertainties to reduce the risk and variation in the expected oil production profiles. During 2019 and 2020, Sarawak Shell Berhad conducted development campaigns in the central Luconia province in a thin oil rim carbonate reservoir offshore Sarawak, Malaysia. The horizontal, approximately 6,000-ft development wells were expected to intersect with different geological layers with varying rock properties, resulting in an uneven reservoir influx toward the wellbore. Oil production from these wells was expected to suffer severely from early gas and water breakthrough. To produce the oil rim without the risk of early gas production, global production optimization specialist, Tendeka, incorporated FloSure AICDs in the lower completion design at the reservoir interface along the horizontal section of the wells. As an active flow control device, the technology delivers a variable flow restriction in response to the properties of the fluid entering the wellbore and the rate of flow passing through it to help manage gas coning/cusping risks. The fluid is then lifted to surface with natural in-situ gas lift built into the upper completion. A three-phase development was planned for the field, and to date, two phases have been completed. New-Generation ICD The first AICD completion was installed in Norway in 2008 and widely implemented in the Troll field in 2013 with very encouraging results (SPE 159634). However, its use is relatively new to both the Asia Pacific region and this type of application. Similar to a standard ICD which balances the influx of reservoir fluids, the FloSure AICD will delay the production of unwanted effluents prior to their breakthrough (proactive solution). However, once a breakthrough occurs, the device restricts the production of unwanted effluents with lower viscosity, such as gas (in light oil applications) and both gas and water in viscous oil production (reactive solution) (OTC 30403, OTC 30363, SPE 193718). The device delivers a variable flow restriction in response to the properties of the fluid and the rate of flow passing through it. Flow enters the device through the nozzle in the top plate of the body. This impacts the disk and spreads radially through the gap between the disk and the top plate, then turns around the top plate and is discharged through several outlet ports in the body (Fig. 1). The overall geometry of the device is critical to its ability to balance these forces effectively and create the desired fluid-dependent pressure drop. Field A employed 7.5-mm AICD valves to match the performance of the devices to the potential well flow rate. The oil, water, and gas viscosities are 0.40 cP, 0.27 cP, and 0.018 cP, respectively, at downhole flow conditions.

Agricultural production methods in Europe are increasingly subject to public criticism from which many farmers suffer. This applies, among other areas, to the widespread use of pesticides. Autonomous field robots (AFR), as the next stage of agricultural automation, have the potential to farm more intensively and, at the same time, in a more environmentally friendly way. However, a certain skepticism towards autonomous systems is suspected among farmers. Whether farmers adopt a technology depends largely on their uncertainty about the consequences of its use and the resulting attitude on the adoption. In order to quantify the attitude on adopting AFR in Germany and to identify possible group differences within the population, 490 German farmers were surveyed using an online questionnaire, which is based on an extended version of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). In the subsequent cluster analysis, the statements inquiring the intention to use AFR served as cluster-forming variables. As a result, three groups (“open-minded AFR supporters”, “convinced AFR adopters”, “reserved AFR interested”) could be identified according to their response behavior. Despite existing group differences, an overall attitude in favor of autonomous field robots was observed. The results complement the existing research with a further empirical study and provide interesting starting points for further analysis, field robot manufacturers, and political decision makers.

At present, the manipulator has become an important auxiliary tool in the production and processing operations, so new requirements are put forward for the control strategy of the manipulator. In production, because traditional manipulators can only perform tasks according to the set procedures and cannot fully realize the intelligence and collaboration of control, how to improve the operating efficiency of manipulators has become an urgent problem to be solved. The autonomous door-opening control of robots is a challenging research topic in the field of automation. In the robot movement, target recognition and positioning and the coordinated control of manipulators and mobile platforms are difficult points in the research of autonomous door-opening control. Through the research on autonomous door-opening control, the robot has a broader working space, which greatly improves the robot’s ability to serve humans and has important theoretical value and practical significance.

The field of music production education is a challenging one, exploring multiple creative, technical and entrepreneurial disciplines, including music composition, performance electronics, acoustics, musicology, project management and psychology. As a result, students take multiple ‘learning journeys’ on their pathway towards becoming autonomous learners. This article uniquely evaluates the journey of climbing Bloom’s cognitive domain in the field of music production and gives specific examples that validate teaching music production in higher education through multiple, connected ascents of the framework. Owing to the practical nature of music production, Kolb’s Experiential Learning Model is also considered as a recurring function that is necessary for climbing Bloom’s domain, in order to ensure that learners are equipped for employability and entrepreneurship on graduation. The authors’ own experiences of higher education course delivery, design and development are also reflected upon with reference to music production pathways at both the University of Westminster (London, United Kingdom) and York St John University (York, United Kingdom).

AbstractRemanufacturing includes disassembly and reassembly of used products to save natural resources and reduce emissions. While assembly is widely understood in the field of operations management, disassembly is a rather new problem in production planning and control. The latter faces the challenge of high uncertainty of type, quantity and quality conditions of returned products, leading to high volatility in remanufacturing production systems. Traditionally, disassembly is a manual labor-intensive production step that, thanks to advances in robotics and artificial intelligence, starts to be automated with autonomous workstations. Due to the diverging material flow, the application of production systems with loosely linked stations is particularly suitable and, owing to the risk of condition induced operational failures, the rise of hybrid disassembly systems that combine manual and autonomous workstations can be expected. In contrast to traditional workstations, autonomous workstations can expand their capabilities but suffer from unknown failure rates. For such adverse conditions a condition-based control for hybrid disassembly systems, based on reinforcement learning, alongside a comprehensive modeling approach is presented in this work. The method is applied to a real-world production system. By comparison with a heuristic control approach, the potential of the RL approach can be proven simulatively using two different test cases.

The article is based on the field studies carried out in 2018-2019. The authors tried to find assimilation of Jewish culture inside the experimental space of the Soviet period. However, after coming to the conclusion that the development of the settlements of the Jewish autonomous region had ‘international’ features, they turned their focus on the description of vernacular architecture (individual low-storey housing, customized governmental accommodation facilities in the form of barracks, etc.). The attempt to comprehend the specific features of the development of the artificially designed territory of the settlements with national Jewish colour in the context of Soviet industrial colonization of the Far East is an important key to understanding the regional identity and preservation of cultural heritage.

The field of study of autonomous trucks especially in open pit mines has been the subject of considerable research over the past three decades. In the last ten years in particular, interest in this area has improved considerably. The implementation of autonomous systems is an integral organizational and cultural change. This work is a guideline for the safe and effective implementation of autonomous trucks in mines. It provides an integral view of the different approaches to implementing autonomous mining trucks with respect to safety criteria, operating costs, etc. It also presents the criteria and measures to be considered when maintaining the haulage routes (vertical/horizontal/combined alignment) that are a vital component for the success of an automation project. Mine site designers and planners should ensure that the design and construction of traffic areas for these trucks are compatible with autonomy and minimize interactions with personnel and non-autonomous equipment. A proposed infrastructural requirement for the autonomous truck zone is presented in this work.

The Andalusian Culture and public cultural policy in the last 40 years was hold as a construction of the autonomous community in the context of the transition to democracy and the construction a new cultural administration. Under the cul-tural policy of the Junta of Andalusia, the infrastructural ac-tivities of the autonomous community in the field of culture and art, expressed in the form of protection and stimulation of the development of the cultural sector in the region by providing guarantees and creating favorable framework socio-political conditions for them, are considered. The cultural policy in Andalusia over the past forty years is not difficult to describe. As in all of Spain, culture was included in the con-struction of the Andalusian autonomy. At the same time, this was due to the urgent need to create a cultural administration that would contribute to the creation of the Andalusian cultur-al system. All this, moreover, had to be done quickly. Two directions of cultural policy were formed, as it were: trans-versal and sectoral. The transversal direction began to take shape from the very beginning, as it was necessary to form a new generation of civil servants, managers in the field of cul-ture, focused on the political aspects of cultural policy, the task was to attract different social groups to the field of culture, access to which was previously limited. The second direction was a response to the external challenges of subsequent years, associated with the growth of cultural activity provoked by the Junta and the building of public-private partnerships in the industry.

Abstract‘Alternative’ publications challenge the conventional discourses of rock journalism. In particular, the dominant discourses of authenticity, masculinity and mythology might be countered by publications that emphasise historical and (sub)cultural framing, and that present radicalised ‘spaces of listening’. Using Bourdieu’s field theory to identify autonomous and semi-autonomous sites for rock criticism, the paper compares how a fanzine (the Sound Projector) and what Frith has termed an ideological magazine (the Wire) construct their reviews. The findings suggest that, whilst there is no evidence for an absolute break with the dominant conventions of reviewing, there is a remarkable polyglottism in alternative music reviewing. The paper emphasises differing cultural and social practices in the multiple ways the publications write about music, and argues for the value of such polyglottism.

The history of autonomous cultural production in the Philippines has been both blessed and cursed with a series of significant but contentious debates largely stemming from the nation’s historical battles with colonialism and how that experience problematized the concept of an easily definable national identity. Using geographical concepts surrounding place to open up new approaches to understanding local cultural production, this essay turns to Philippine cinema as a propaedeutic for this contested history and traces the emergence and difficulties of vernacular and regional cinemas in Cebu, Philippines.

Purpose – The purpose of the paper is to shed light on the particular organizing design practices behind making items exchangeable into commodities. It is a constructive contribution to establish more critical studies of merchandizing. Design/methodology/approach – The study included several longitudinal projects in retail chains in Scandinavia. The research was based on anthropological and participatory research methods. We introduce the term “waremaking” as a term for the work to make items exchangeable and expand on a distinction between silent and seen design (Gorb and Dumas, 1987). Findings – Waremaking is business, but includes giving form to relations between business and society to make exchanges at all possible. We found considerable silent design work that is not commonly acknowledged in economic and social theory. Research limitations/implications – There is a need for comparative and aggregate studies. We deconstruct the conventional categories “commodities” and “merchandizing” and a study of the contingent effects on the meaning of other constructs is needed. Practical implications – Introducing the notion of waremaking yields important insights for organizations and managers. We offer a new framework of waremaking that crosses existing boundaries and helps construct new interfaces between designers, traders and consumers in society. Social implications – The papers reveal merchandizing as a culturally complex and nuanced form of work and a crucial field of practice. Originality/value – Scholars have denoted little attention to the cultural work of merchandizing. By delineating a new practice-based framework encompassing both ordinary and extraordinary work, we can address the cultural production of commodities.

In our paper we present the impact of final consumption change on a product by applying the meaning of the autonomous consumption multiplier. Similar to Leontief and Kahn we introduced the multiplier of autonomous consumption, and with it the concept of the influence of change in final consumption on production in the order of a series of subsequent periods. In our analysis, the Slovenian economic investments in the renovation of Slovenian cultural heritage buildings affect the revenue of the Slovenian economy by a multiplier of 2,945. The impact on value added is 1,236. With one million investments in the renovation of Slovene cultural heritage buildings, the revenue of the Slovene economy will increase by more than 2.9 million euros and value added by 1.2 million euros after the adjustment period. The analysed investments will enable employments of 32 employees and the utilization of 3 million euros in fixed assets.

In a time when the attention paid to identifying the possibilities of reducing problems due to urban pollution is increasing, the construction industry has a lot to gain if it aligns itself with the new trends of sustainable development in the field. In this context, the objective of obtaining a concrete with self-healing properties of cracks is more than appropriate, becoming a sustainable alternative for reducing the maintenance costs of transport infrastructure by increasing their operating time and by decreasing the need for the volume of repair and maintenance works, thus indirectly contributing to the reduction of environmental pollution. Preliminary results obtained using a cementitious composite with waterproofing admixture content by mass crystallization are encouraging by identifying the existence of an autonomous healing degree (closure of cracks with average opening 20-40 µm) in a proportion of at least 65% after only 96 hours of exposure in a wet-dry environment, respectively and of at least 96% after 480 hours of conditioning. The degree of novelty and value of this research is mainly due to the approach of this type of composite produced by adapting the general principles to local raw materials, including the use of specific industrial waste and by-products available in Romania (fly ash and limestone slurry).

How do people create a social environment for maintaining their ethnic identity outside of the «traditional» way of life, in conditions of «asymmetric” interaction with theother cultural majority? This issue is investigated in the article on the example of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra. It is concluded that today, in the context of the loss of many objective cultural characteristics, the ethnicity of the indigenous minorities is supported through the allocation of specialized types of intellectual labor and the corresponding social institutions which maintain preservation, production and transmission of ethnocultural specificity

Given that the production of sexual subjects is inextricably bound to language, theorists Lee Edelman and Jasbir Puar investigate the imbrication of the sexual subject in discourses of the Child (Edelman 2004) and the nation-state (Puar 2007). Through an interdisciplinary lens, this essay builds on their conceptual frameworks in its examination of homoerotics and the figure of the Child in Cuban cultural production. Of interest is how peripheral verbal and visual language challenge discourses that fold the sexual subject and the Child into the good of the nation and the coherence of the social order. In Edelman’s argument (2004: 3), the Child and queerness are held apart: the Child is bound to futurity given that the “political order […] returns to the Child as the image of the future it intends” and queerness figures “the place of the social order’s death drive.” The queer poetics of the peripheral language examined in this essay revise the trajectory of Child to “true man,” creating new space for movement of the queer subject and the Child in the political field.
