The data of engine failures about automobile operating in field conditions was collected by running engine failure tracking tests. An evaluative model was established using the theory of Fuzzy Neural Network (FNN) for the automobile “using reliability, based on the data of failures about automobiles, finally, the evaluative result for the automobile” using reliability was obtained by evaluative model of reliability. The result of research can be used as references for the improvement of reliability and maintainability of automobile engines, and for the establishment of maintenance strategy, and it also laid a theoretical foundation for studying the improvement of evaluation method for the automobiles' reliability as well.

The article analyzes the movement of the car on the curve on the slippery and snowy road surface with asphalted ruts. The paper reviews literature related to lateral and longitudinal vehicle acceleration and dynamics of vehicle movement. The experimental facts of vehicle lateral acceleration are given in graphical charts. The article also describes the acceleration values and stability of the automobile depending on the speed in the curve. The findings are given based on the results. Because the classic PID control doesn’t satisfy the demand of automobile ABS in all conditions and it is short of an ability of identifying road surface, fuzzy control is short of an ability of remove systemic stable error and it doesn’t make automobiles keep higher control precisions. a dynamic mode of the wheels is built when an automobile is braking at first, aiming at automobile ABS, a immune PID control algorithm based on classic PID is presented and used in automobile ABS system. Compared with the classic PID control algorithm and fuzzy control algorithm, the simulation result shows that the immune PID control algorithm has a shorter stabilization time, a smaller excess of system output, fewer response time and shorter braking distance, it is superior to the classic PID control algorithm and fuzzy control algorithm. The immune PID control algorithm has a higher application value.

This study intends to compare Japanese automobiles, German automobiles, and Korean automobiles, which are major competitors in the US automobile market, in light of major sales factors, and to draw implications for expanding sales of Korean automobiles in the US. This study compares and analyzes Korean cars, Japanese cars, and German cars by sales factors in the 50 US states instead of country level determinants considered in previous studies. In this respect, it makes differentiated contributions. This study adopts the fixed-effect model estimation using panel data as a research method. First, it performs the estimation using the size of Korean automobile imports, Japanese automobile imports, and German automobile imports as dependent variables. Furthermore, this study estimates the fixed-effect model for Korean automobile imports relative to Japanese automobile imports and Korean automobile imports relative to German automobile imports. According to the research results of this study, the size of imports of Korean automobiles and Japanese automobiles is affected by efficient fuel use or fuel price such as highway fuel efficiency and fuel price. On the other hand, German car imports are not affected by fuel prices and are inversely related with the highway fuel economy. Another finding of this study is that the higher the ratio of fatalities in highway traffic accidents, the lower the Japanese automobile imports. In addition, this study finds that the ratio of single-driver commuting to work has inverse relationship with the German automobile imports. Lastly, it is found that automobile imports from Korea and Japan are found to be affected by overall preferences for products in those countries. Meanwhile, as a result of controlling for major sales factors, Korean cars, Japanese cars, and German cars are equally preferred in California, Florida, Michigan, Virginia, and Rhode Island. In Mississippi, South Carolina, Oregon and Tennessee, Korean and Japanese cars are preferred over German cars while Korean cars and German cars are preferred over Japanese cars in New Jersey, Georgia, and Texas. On the other hand, in Louisiana, Washington, and Pennsylvania, Korean-made cars was found to be remarkably preferred over German and Japanese cars. The results of this study provides a guideline for sales strategy for Korean cars in the US market. This study limits the subjects of imports of Korean cars, Japanese cars, and German cars to 50 states in the United States, and only categorizes cars by production country rather than automobile brands. If these data can be accessed, various studies will be possible in the future.

Production and sales of automobiles are significant parts of the 21st century economy. The aim of this study is to reveal the latest and most perspective scientific research directions in improving international automobile trading business by using scientific sources and official statistics. Scientific researchers are focused on strategic means that have to be taken in order to recover the market share and past sales volumes.This study reveals that even though sales volumes of automobiles in general are decreasing rapidly, sales of compact class automobiles are improving. Three main reasons for this fact are stated. First is price, second is the model of automobile and its technical characteristics, third reason is growing environmentalism. Regarding the mentioned reasons for automobile market over grouping by segments, three main scientific research directions are discussed: those that are due to price reduction, technical appearance focused and environment focused scientific researches.

Super steel has the same chemical composition as plain carbon steel, but its yield strength is higher than plain carbon steel because it has finer grain size. The products of super steel sheet have been used in automobile parts, which not only improves the quality of the automobiles, but also reduces the cost and weight of automobiles, decreases energy consumption and environmental pollution. At present, several automobile manufacturers have applied the super steel products to their parts, such as Across Beam and Longitude Beam, Automotive wheel, et al. This paper introduces the tensile test, cold bending test and metallographic examination for 500MPa grade super steel sheet that have been done. The hardening index, value of plastic strain ratio, yield strength, tensile strength, even percentage elongation and other mechanical performances have been studied. The press forming performance of 500MPa grade super steel has been analyzed too. It can be used for guidance of stamping production.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop an ontological model of failure knowledge of automobile systems that will enhance the knowledge management of automobile system failures, which will help for design and maintenance of automobiles. Failure knowledge of automobile systems and components gained through maintenance and repair can mitigate future failures, if integrated in the design. This is an outcome of this paper. Design/methodology/approach A failure coding scheme is developed for assimilating various entities of automobile failure knowledge and an ontological model is developed for its systematic structuring and representation. The developed failure code is a combination of alphanumeric and numeric code that incorporates ingredients of the failure knowledge, which will help database management, with reduced data entry time and storage space. Findings The maintenance of automobiles not only brings back the systems into operating conditions but also convey a lot of information regarding the failures. This is a useful input to the designers in development of reliable and maintainable automobile systems. A knowledge base can be created for automobile systems/components failures from their maintenance and service experience. Research limitations/implications Developed ontological model of automobile failure knowledge gained through maintenance experience can be shared across automobile manufacturers and service providers. This would help in design improvements, with ease and efficient undertaking of maintenance activities. This paper proposes the conceptual ontology structure, which is populated with three cases of automobile maintenance. Originality/value This research work is a first attempt to develop an ontological model for automobile failures from their maintenance and service experience. The novelty of the work is in its explicit consideration of all knowledge related to failures and maintenance of automobile systems, with their coding and structuring.

Since awareness has increased for environment protection, it is being global concerns for consumers and manufacturers to use green and environmentally friendly products with realisation to contribute to saving of environment. In this context, automobile sector has very important contribution in an economy of any country. A very large percentage of automobiles are using fuel, Co2 emissions have adverse effect on environment, and this is one of contributing factor for global warming. This study aims to investigate the effect of environmental values, responsibility feelings and environmental knowledge upon purchase intentions of Pakistani consumers towards environmentally friendly automobiles. This study utilises the causal research approach by testing the correlation existing between an individual’s environment attitude and its impact on his/ her intentions to purchase environment-friendly automobiles. It was found that there is a demand for environment-friendly automobiles amongst Pakistani consumers. However, at this stage they do have feelings of responsiveness towards environment protection and sustainability but are not willing to pay extra to purchase a hybrid or environment-friendly automobile. Furthermore, they are not willing to compromise on quality and comfortability when purchasing an environment-friendly automobile compared to a regular car. Contrary to this, they may be willing to settle for a relatively unattractive design and lower performance when buying an environment-friendly automobile compared to a regular automobile.

Ride comfort is an important factor to measure the performance of automobiles. The research presented in this paper investigates the effects of parameters related to suspension, wheels and tires on ride comfort. A seven freedom degrees model is established for automobiles, and the corresponding simulation model is also given. An actual automobile is taken as example to simulate its acceleration based on the above models. In addition, ride comfort simulation comparison of three types of vehicles from different manufacturers has been conducted. The outcome of the research provide useful tools for designers to optimize their automobile structure parameters to improve the design efficiency and accuracy.

The integration of the new-generation information technology and the automobile manufacturing industry has significantly improved the production efficiency of the automobile manufacturing industry, but it will also increase the technology application cost of the automobile manufacturing industry. The boundary value of the income change of the automobile manufacturing industry can be obtained by examining the influence of new-generation information technology on the price of parts, the price of automobiles, and the quantity of production in the upstream and downstream of the automobile manufacturing industry chain. The study found that the benefit of the automobile manufacturing industry that meets the conditions of technology application costs has increased. The value added to the downstream enterprises in the industrial chain is greater than the value added to the upstream companies. The lower the cost of technology application, the greater the impact on the number of automobile production. In the end, an example is used to verify the reliability of the research results.

Purpose This study analyzed how Japan’s export regulations affected the imports and exports of the automobile industry, and examined whether there was a change in the trade competitiveness of the automobile industry. Design/Methodology/Approach In order to examine the degree of improvement in the automobile industry’s imports, exports, and trade competitiveness with Japan in Korea, the world and Japanese import and export statistical data of the automobile industry were aggregated for five periods. In addition, the change trend in the dependence on imports and exports of automobiles and parts to Japan was examined. In addition, the change in competitiveness of the Korean automobile and parts industry to Japan was examined using the trade specialization index. Findings As a result of the analysis, it was found that the trade deficit of automobiles and parts with Japan in 2021 fell compared to 2017 and 2019. In the case of import and export dependence, there was little change in export dependence, but it was confirmed that there was a significant decrease in import dependence. Korea’s dependence on exports of automobiles and parts to Japan has decreased slightly, but its dependence on imports has decreased by 10 times, which can be interpreted as Japan receiving more trade losses in the automobile industry due to the Korea-Japan trade dispute. Research Implications In the passenger car sector, it can be evaluated that there has been a result of the boycott of Japanese products, and efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of domestic cars and diversify import lines should continue to continue this in the future. In addition, in order to continue this performance in automobile parts, efforts should be made to improve product competitiveness and import dependence in more diverse item groups in the parts.

With the increasing number of automobiles on the road, passive safety has become a particularly important issue. In this paper, an energy-absorbing material, origami aluminum honeycomb, was manufactured by a welding process for use as an automobile energy absorbing box. The mechanical properties and deformation of welded origami aluminum honeycomb in three directions were studied through quasi-static and dynamic compression tests. The results show that the origami aluminum honeycomb had good mechanical energy absorption performance, and the optimal directions are identified. Combined with theoretical analysis, the errors between experiments and simulations are shown. The origami honeycomb structure was designed for use as an automobile energy absorbing box. Analysis shows that it could absorb at least 10% of the kinetic energy of a vehicle during a collision, and could play a role in protecting the interior of the vehicle.

With the rapid development of China's economy and society, the domestic demand for automobiles is growing explosively. At the same time, the dependence of China's crude oil on foreign countries exceeds 65%. This is a great hidden danger to the sustainable development of China's economy and energy security. Automobile consumes a large amount of petroleum resources, and automobile exhaust is one of the main factors causing environmental pollution. In view of the dual pressure of energy saving and emission reduction, methanol has been favored by many researchers for its many advantages (such as cleanliness, environmental protection, renewable and high accessibility). In this paper, the resource extensibility of methanol, the physicochemical properties of methanol, the application characteristics of methanol in internal combustion engine and the comparison of the combustion performance of methanol with traditional fuels are summarized and analyzed.

The automobile resistance reduction problem is the major topic in the automotive industry because of its link with economy and safe. Taking Computational Fluid Dynamics software as the platform, the automobile as the research object, the simulation models are established based on unsteady, viscous Reynolds averaged k-ε equations, by using dynamic grid and finite volume method. The aerodynamic characteristics of the automobile were studied with the different rear windscreen angles, such as 30°,35°,40°and 45°respectively. Analysis of trailing vortex automobiles for resistance. The results show that the different angle of the rear window, the flow separation and re-attachment points for the different, the resistance coefficient is also different. The conclusions of analysis provide the theoretical foundation for styling optimization of automobile,it is of certain guiding significance for practical application.

Luxury is often blamed for creating social inequality and hampering sustainability, especially in the social and environmental realms. For instance, luxury goods entice people to conspicuous consumption that may result in showing off. However, study results show that luxury and environmental sustainability have common features. Notably, previous research mainly examined motivations for green purchases in general without relating to the specific product categories such as durables. Therefore, this study examines the relationship between these two—green and luxury automobile buying intentions—by analyzing the survey results of 1601 respondents relating to more than 60 nationalities. In contrast to a substantial effect on luxury buying intentions, perceived conspicuousness has no significant positive effect on green auto purchase intentions, and that price value has a limited influence compared with the effect on luxury automobile purchase intentions. Furthermore, hedonism has a less positive impact on green auto purchase intentions compared to its impact on luxury automobile buying intentions. The ‘extended self’ and the perception of high quality have been found to be drivers of luxury and green automobile purchase intentions, while unique value appears to have no impact on purchase intentions for green and conventional luxury automobiles. The present study contributes to the extant research by investigating common and contradictory motivations for luxury and green buying intentions of automobiles. Furthermore, it suggests a reconsideration of the traditional view that luxury and environmental consumption are inconsistent and contradictory concepts. The complementary managerial implications of this study guide practitioners in positioning the situatable variants of their automobiles as ethical luxury.

The purpose of this quantitative research was to identify whether there were correlations between U.S. automobile consumers’ perceived value and South Korean automobiles’ price, quality, fuel efficiency, design, and technologies. The sample size of the current study was 538. A questionnaire was used to collect data from automobile consumers in 50 states and in the District of Columbia. The results show that consumers’ perceived value were positively related to South Korean automobiles’ price, quality, fuel efficiency, design, and technologies. The result of a multiple regression analysis shows that South Korean automobiles’ quality, fuel efficiency, design, and technologies were significant predictors of consumers’ perceived value. On the other hand, price was only a marginally significant predictor of consumers’ perceived value. In the second multiple regression analysis which considers the participants’ gender, age, education level, and income level, results indicated that none of the four variables had any effect on consumers’ perceived value. Implications for South Korean automobiles’ pricing, quality control, and manufacturing strategy are discussed. Directions for future research are also proposed.

According to the change of frequency band energy, fault frequency band of the automobile engine was found. Fault diagnosis knowledge is described by means of applying T-S model. Results from the experimental signal analysis show that the proposed method is effective in diagnosing the automobile engine faults.

Problem. Energy efficiency of an automobile is a characteristic of rational use of engine power and consumption of energy sources. The rational use of engine power is the implementation of the maximum dynamics of an automobile at the lowest energy consumption (power). To date, the problem of estimating the efficiency of the automobile wheel propulsion unit is one of the most relevant in modern engineering. Therefore, there is an urgent need to optimize the ability to assess the energy efficiency of automobile by obtaining a mathematical model of the efficiency of the wheel propulsion unit for further rational design of automobiles according to energy efficiency criteria. Goal. The aim of the work is to increase the ability to assess the energy efficiency of the automobile by obtaining a mathematical model of the efficiency of the wheel propulsion unit. Methodology. Analytical, mathematical and research methods were used to develop a model for estimating the efficiency of the automobile wheel propulsion unit. Results. The results of the study allowed to determine that with an increase in the maximum torque on the clutch, there is an increase in the efficiency of the latter. The obtained mathematical model of the instantaneous power consumption factor for the movement of the driven wheel allows to increase the accuracy of estimating the energy efficiency of cars. The obtained analytical expression of the estimation of the instantaneous power consumption factor of the wheel propulsion unit allows to carry out rational design of automobiles on the criterion of energy efficiency in the future. Analysis of the obtained expression showed that with increasing number of drive wheels, the efficiency of the wheel propulsion unit also increases. Originality. The originality is in obtaining a mathematical model of the efficiency of the wheel propulsion unit of automobile, which will further help to select the rational parameters of the chassis and refine the calculation of energy efficiency of automobiles. Practical value. The practical value of the study is to provide practical recommendations for improving the ability to assess the energy efficiency of the automobile by obtaining a mathematical model of the efficiency factor of the wheel propulsion unit.

The globalization of the automotive industry in the last twenty years has manifested itself ina rapid increase in the assembly of automobiles and the production of automotive components and spareparts outside of the traditional centers of automotive manufacturing. On the basis of contemporary researchand literature, we can distinguish two types of emerging centers of automobile manufacturing.First are potentially large domestic markets with a low level of motor vehicle ownership and rapidlygrowing economy such as Brazil. The second type of new automobile manufacturing center consistsof the peripheries of automotive core regions such as Mexico in the case of the North American coreregion and Central Europe in the case of the Western European core region. These new growth centershave benefitted from their lower production costs compared to those of core regions and their geographicproximity to the largest automobile markets. These emerging centers of manufacturing havebecome attractive locations, especially for export-oriented manufacturing facilities operated by largetransnational automotive corporations attempting to improve their global competitiveness. The purposeof this paper is to evaluate the effect of foreign direct investment on the development of automobile productionin these three emerging regions. The paper reviews post-1990 production trends and changes inthe geography of automobile production, especially new greenfield investments in the three analyzedregions. We examine changes in international trade in Brazil, Mexico and Central Europe with a focuson automobiles and automobile parts. Based on the results of our research, we determine the effects offoreign direct investment and industrial upgrading on the role of these emerging production centers inthe global production system.

The automobile BUS-IP use two wires to communicate with the other CAN node, realize the resource using in common among the ECU. It has become the dominant technology in the future time. The content of thesis divides into hardware and software. CAN signal can be used to communicate between the power and driving system, use on-off circuit to control the automobile body information.

The experiment study models of which based on the hyperboloid shallow shells that could represent automobile panel’s surface features was established. The criterion and research technique of automobile panel stiffness were introduced. The experiment research works of effects of two main process conditions on stiffness which blank holding force (BHF) and boundary condition during the stiffness test were obtained. All conclusions provided a particularly effective process guidance and technical approach in the automobile panel production.

Recent research has suggested that noise barriers have significant impacts on near-road automobile emissions reduction. T-shaped noise barriers have better performance on reducing noise than others, however, their effects on automobile emissions reduction are not clear. In this research, commercial software ANSYS®Fluent 19.2 (Ansys Inc., Canonsburg, PA, USA) was applied to simulate the noise barrier shape and different inflow wind shear condition effects on highway automobiles emission dispersion. Various Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) models were tested. The realizable k-ε turbulence model was selected to simulate the turbulent flow caused by fast moving vehicles on highway based on the comparison results. A non-reacting species transport model was applied to simulate emission dispersion. Results showed that the T-shaped barrier was able to help reduce highway automobiles emission concentration in downstream areas more than the rectangular barrier. An optimized range of the T-shape was proposed; under the inflow condition without wind shear, the noise barrier shape effects on automobiles emission reduction were not significant.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the perceived entrepreneurial competencies required by Automobile Technology students in Technical Colleges in Bauchi and Gombe states of North Eastern Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study was 265 consisting of 96 Automobile Technology Teachers and 169 Automobile Technology Entrepreneurs. The study was guided by three research questions and three hypotheses, formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The instrument used for the study was a structured questionnaire which was face and content validated by three experts. Cronbach Alpha reliability method was adopted to determine the internal consistency of the instrument which yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.82. The data collected were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and z-test statistic. It was found out that entrepreneurial competencies were perceived to be highly required on marketing, financial and accounting competencies by Automobile Technology Students. It was recommended among others that, the teaching staff of technical colleges should be exposed to adequate training and retraining on the entrepreneurial skills and competencies and the new contents of automobiles technology to be included into the curriculum of technical colleges.

This paper adopts the working principle of the low temperature plasma purification of automotive exhaust analysis to illustrate the method to remove the contaminants, and study the phenomenon of measured air going to a plasma generator located in the downstream of the combustor in plasma fuel converter. The high voltage is applied to airflow, forming high temperature plasma. High temperature plasma spray the air flow into the burner and high light-off combustible components of fuel air mixture to illustrate the method of purifying automobile exhaust. Last but not least, this paper studies the new technology how the high-tech road surface material effective purify automobile exhaust, and popularization and application. This paper can solve the negative impact of automobile exhaust on atmospheric in a large extent.

Анотація:
Automobile side door glass squeaks and rattles during use. This abnormal noise can make the driver and occupants irritable and reduce the comfort of the automobile. This reduces the sales of this automobile. This paper analyzes and determines the cause of squeak and rattle during the lifting and lowering process of the side door glass of an automobile. The noise is due to four reasons. One is that the distance between the inner waterproof belt and the automobile side door glass of the automobile is unreasonable, causing excessive friction between the automobile side door glass and the inner waterproof belt during the automobile side door glass up and down movement. Other factors affecting squeak and rattle may be the distance between the automobile side door sheet metal and the automobile side door glass, the thickness of the automobile side door glass and the characteristics of the inner waterproof belt. The first two dimensions are analyzed using the 6 sigma method, and the structure of the inner waterproof belt is improved and the flocking position is adjusted. The squeak and rattle phenomenon is explained using the implicit dynamic analysis method ABAQUS, and the compression load deflection after the installation of the inner waterproof belt is 3–9 N/100 mm. This research completely solves the squeak and rattle problem caused by the up and down movement of the side door glass of the automobile. This research has significance for solving practical engineering problems.

The widely used AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design technology) in automobile car body drawing gradually extends to automation direction,and it can be more widely used.Realizing the informationization deepening in automobile car body drawing has a very important significance for the modernization construction of our country.Based on the analysis of advantages and disadvantages of AutoCAD technology,this paper puts forwards the application of reliable transmission technology in automobile car body drawing operation,designs automation model of automobile car body drawing system and introduces the information feedback of transport layer in this mechanism,so as to achieve the optimization of highly efficient application in automobile car body drawing system.

The status of auto industry is enhancing in our national economy with the economic boom of China and rapid growth of economic globalization. Meanwhile, automobile manufacturing industry also has to faced with the increasingly fierce global competition. Based on this opportunities and challenges coexist situation, comprehensive evaluation of automobile manufacturing enterprises’ performance has more and more realistic significance. This paper utilized the analytic hierarchy process to evaluate the performance of automobile manufacturing enterprises. In this assessment system, we considered the financial indicators and non-financial indicators which related to the performance of automobile manufacturing enterprises. Based on the systematically analysis, we summarized the influence degree of each evaluation index and provided the basis for automobile manufacturing enterprises to make scientific decisions.
