Value education is inextricably linked to every step of our life. It helps in the manifestation of the personality and character of an individual and makes a good citizen. Citizens with values produce a peaceful society. But the question arises how values can develop? Usually, educational institutes are one of the platforms where values are being imparted among the students which are really important. The purpose of the article is to understand the importance of scriptures for the development of human values. Various scholars have mentioned that scriptures increase positivity among the individual. The ancient scriptures like Bhagavat Gita, Upanishad and Patanjali Yoga Sutra, etc. rightly indicating the way of inculcating values.The scriptures knowledge awaken humanity within children, show the right path in life, make them honest, hardworking, courageous, and remove violence from society, establish peace, and remove the religious bigotries.Therefore, need to understand ancient scriptures and incorporate it into our educational curriculum.

The attitudes of the ancient Greeks towards their material culture—so far as we can discover from their writings—was rather different from that of most modern students of the remains of classical antiquity. The Greeks esteemed gold and silver vessels, while many archaeologists still believe that they preferred painted pottery. This reversal of classical values came about through the entry of Utopian ideals into the mainstream of classical scholarship in the 18th century. Laudable in themselves, these ideals have led to a serious misunderstanding of the role of ceramic in antiquity. Prices for painted pottery were extremely low and it can hardly have been the vehicle for what the Ancients would have considered to be ‘Art’. It is ironic that the classical tradition has been subverted by many of those charged with the scholarly interpretation of the classical past.

The numeral is an important object of study in linguistics and serves as a basis for demonstrating the cultural values, thinking and history of a nation. Each number conveys ancient cultural value, superstitions, cultural taboos and symbolic meaning through the conceptual system of language and linguocultural units. Since numbers have become the most important object in linguistics, these numbers with linguistic and cultural codes should be explored more through the conceptual system of language. The numbers include metric vocabulary, quantitative and numbering vocabulary. Moreover, numbers can be considered as the bearers of cultural information. Having learned the cultural meaning of numbers, one can get acquainted with traditions and ancient customs of a nation and their beliefs. This article draws attention to the most valuable information about numbers, starting with “1” and further about the culture, superstitions and ancient culture of people. The importance of studying phraseological unities with numbers from an ethnocultural point of view is also shown.

The aims of this study are to explore the sacred meanings in the ancient manuscripts of Kerinci preserved by the Kerinci indigenous people and their comparison with other ancient manuscripts in the world. This study uses a qualitative approach, with data collection using a purposive sampling technique on selected informants based on predetermined criteria. The results of this study indicate that the manifestation of the sacred values of the ancient manuscripts of Kerinci does not lie in the physicality of the manuscripts, but is believed by the Kerinci people to be found in the values of protecting or maintaining ancient manuscripts. The Kerinci people view the preservation of ancient manuscripts as sacred because they believe it is obedience to the results of an agreement, continuing the mandate, respecting the ikrar iyo (pledge), a form of obedience to the adjunct directions of the country's leader in this case the Depati, respecting the contents of the manuscript in the form of ancestral teachings and history, and are afraid of being exposed disaster, harm or disaster such as wasting the manuscript as harto pusako as a consequence of the responsibility that has been jointly acknowledged and bound by the iyo pledge. Some contextually sacred reasons have similarities with traditions in other places such as the value of trust, adherence to customary rules, ancestral teachings such as rituals, traditional ceremonies, certain religious teachings and ancestral history, and fear of calamity if ancient manuscripts are wasted.

Since ancient times philosophers have been concerned with the issues of spirituality. The characteristic of the personality from the spirituality viewpoint gives the chance to see in a person the already created moral values. These values are reflected in his/her education and reactions to the arising situations demanding instant actions. It is important to underline that the spiritual world of a man is formed both within the religious and the secular system. In this article, the authors tried to show the difference between spiritualty and morality and to present spirituality from the perspective of such moral values as “freedom” and “conscience”. In this regard, a theoretical analysis was carried out and the definitions of “spirituality” given by philosophers of some epochs were proposed. Moreover, the authors find it necessary to present such concepts as “spirit”, “morality” associated with the concept of “spirituality”, as well as views of some ancient, Western and Russian philosophers. The article also describes spiritual values such as «morality», «freedom», and «conscience». The authors come to the conclusion that conscience is the highest measure of morality, which determines man’s spiritual world and culture.

Inscribed plaques are a special genre of Vietnamese traditional literature and culture, expressing traditional values and wishes to keep and pass them on to future generations. Inscribed plaques are written in ancient Chinese and Vietnamese and can be found in traditional architectural spaces such as communal houses, pagodas, streets, and ancient houses. Currently, despite the fact that the number of people learning Chinese is increasing, most of these students learn modern Chinese. Therefore, it is often difficult for them to understand the traditional cultural and literary values embedded in inscribed plaques. The article reports the results of a qualitative study that collected 680 inscribed plaques, mainly dating from the Nguyen Dynasty in the Northern Delta. The study results show that the ancient inscribed plaques of Vietnam often use three or four words that are often quoted or condensed from idioms and classics in Confucian classics, poetry, and ancient Chinese literature. The content of these inscribed plaques possessesprofound cultural and literary connotations, which can be considered a rich resource for learners and researchers. The study concludes that inscribed plaques play a vital role in the inheritanceand promotion of traditional Vietnamese ethical and cultural values in the new era.

<p>Mythology, as a special cultural carrier, can reflect people’s spiritual values in a certain period and region. In ancient Chinese mythology and ancient Greek mythology, there are some goddess with similar attributes or symbolic meaning. Their symbolic attributes essentially represent some specific areas of women’s values, such as fertility, wisdom, love and marriage. Based on the mythology of ancient China and Greece as well as the ancient social background of the two countries, this paper analyzes and compares the goddess images in the myths of the two countries from the perspective of fertility, wisdom, love and marriage in the female values. In the aspect of fertility, China in the matriarchal society showed the worship of the supremacy of women. In the aspect of wisdom, the ancient Greek society affirmed the importance of moral wisdom, and also emphasized the necessity of acquiring personal skills, interests and reputation. In the aspect of love and marriage, women in both countries were victims of the patriarchal society, but the ancient Greek society emphasized the pursuit of individual hedonism and freedom. What’s more, the goddess images in Chinese mythology are romantic, while the goddess images in ancient Greek mythology is more humanistic. From these aspects, the comparative analysis of the two goddesses can reveal the characteristics, social causes and evolution of the ancient women’s values of the people of the two countries.</p><p> </p>

The theme of values remains one of the most relevant from ancient times to the present period. Democritus, Epicurus, Plato, Aristotle, J.Thinkers like Bruno, T. Hobbes, D. Didro, G. Leibniz, F. Bacon, I. Kant, G. Hegel pay attention to the philosophical and historical analysis of values. At the heart of the study of the problem of values are legends, myths, stories, epics, that is, models of folklore. In the oral tradition of the people, more attention is paid to Universal and national values, the essence and content of which are interpreted in different ways. The epics depict the spirit of patriotism, loyalty to the freedom of the people and the country. When ancient people thought about life, told Legends, stories or epics, they explained the value of the universe, its Infinity, The relationship between the universe and humanity, the importance, content, purpose of human life and values such as courage, wisdom, kindness, honesty, patriotism.

This study discusses the time concepts contained in the Indonesian and German proverbs by focusing on the functions and values of wisdom contained therein. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach and is expected to explain about the philosophy, teaching and reflection of the height of thought of the ancient Indonesian people and the values contained in the German proverb.

AbstractThis paper shows that in classical Athens, values and institutions encouraged many types of entrepreneurship. Successful entrepreneurs received social and political distinctions, and some entrepreneurial slaves gained their freedom. However, to deter extreme individualism, success in business was judged by the means used to acquire wealth, rather than simply the amount of wealth acquired. The system encouraged those entrepreneurs who were esteemed socially, to work hard, use ethical means, not to consume their wealth conspicuously but to share it with the rest of the people by undertaking public expenditures, and to abide by the laws and ordinances of the city-state.

Heidegger, Winner, and Ellul's critiques of Western technology focus on a notion of efficiency that subordinates to itself all non-instrumental values. An alternative conception of efficiency is proposed based on the Taoist theory of non-action (wu-wei). The ancient Taoist text, The Chuang Tzu, reveals a type of efficiency that is effective, resourceful, and entrepreneurial. It is a form of action which has an intimate rather than alienated relation to technology, and which is sensitive to the ethical and aesthetic values that Heidegger and Ellul claim are excluded from the Western conception of efficiency.

Abstract The movement from Greek paideia to Roman humanitas gives a clue into how the ancients conceived of the goals of the state and the means adopted to prepare citizens for the attainment of such goals. In these two ancient educational practices, evidences of how they conceived of the challenges of their time were found, as the formative ideals proposed to prepare citizens for the challenges and their ambiental peculiarities. The process, understanding and intricacies of this movement cannot but strike the curiosity of the modern African, whose educational ideals were laid on them, but whose practice of education is progressively moving away from them. Hence, the contemporary society needs to learn from the practice of ancient formation, which will create a bridge that happily adopts ancient values that can be of great assistance and serve as a template for authentic cultural development in Africa.

Transformational leadership has received a great significance in the leadership literature during the past two decades. However, this research is dominated by Western traditions and scant attention is paid to Asian traditions. Therefore, in this paper, the authors explore the relevance of Confucianism, an Asian tradition, and its significance in transformational leadership development. For this purpose, the authors have selected the Analects, which provide the essence of Confucianism to explore the relevant transformational leadership concepts. This paper is based on hermeneutics, a qualitative research methodology that involves study, understanding and interpretation of ancient text. Confucianism provides an inside-out approach to transformational leadership development, which is self leadership first, before leadership of others. This inside-out perspective is also similar to other Asian traditions, such as ancient Indian wisdom. The prospects of analysis of Confucianism in other areas of leadership and management can be considered for future research.

Changes in stable chromium isotopes (denoted as δ53Cr) in ancient carbonate sediments are increasingly used to reconstruct the oxygenation history in Earth’s atmosphere and oceans through time. As a significant proportion of marine carbonate older than the Cambrian is microbially-mediated, the utility of δ53Cr values in ancient carbonates hinges on whether these sediments accurately capture the isotope composition of their environment. We report Cr concentrations (Cr) and δ53Cr values of modern marginal marine and non-marine microbial carbonates. These data are supported by stable C and O isotope compositions, as well as rare earth elements and yttrium (REY) concentrations. In addition, we present data on ancient analogs from Precambrian strata. Microbial carbonates from Marion Lake (Australia, δ53Cr ≈ 0.99‰) and Mono Lake (USA, ≈0.78‰) display significantly higher δ53Cr values compared with ancient microbialites from the Andrée Land Group in Greenland (720 Ma, ≈0.36‰) and the Bitter Springs Formation in Australia (800 Ma, ≈−0.12‰). The δ53Cr values are homogenous within microbialite specimens and within individual study sites. This indicates that biological parameters, such as vital effects, causing highly variable δ53Cr values in skeletal carbonates, do not induce variability in δ53Cr values in microbialites. Together with stable C and O isotope compositions and REY patterns, δ53Cr values in microbialites seem to be driven by environmental parameters such as background lithology and salinity. In support, our Cr and δ53Cr results of ancient microbial carbonates agree well with data of abiotically precipitated carbonates of the Proterozoic. If detrital contamination is carefully assessed, microbialites have the potential to record the δ53Cr values of the waters from which they precipitated. However, it remains unclear if these δ53Cr values record (paleo-) redox conditions or rather result from other physico-chemical parameters.

The ancient manuscript also describes the previous human civilization that was rich in science. The ancient manuscript is a historical reminder that should be preserved and its existence is preserved so that the next generation of the nation can also recognize the values </em><em></em><em>of the information contained in the text. Preservation is the most appropriate way to maintain the existence of ancient manuscripts from obliteration. Preservation efforts are activities carried out to preserve the heritage of cultural heritage in this case the ancient manuscripts so that they are not quickly damaged and can be used in accordance with the original. This is very important to be carried out by the relevant institutions to save the priceless national assets that have so far been neglected and are still very concerning. Along with the development of increasingly sophisticated technology, preservation also undergoes a change of method, from traditional to modern techniques. This method is the most appropriate method to do than traditional methods that can have an adverse effect on the manuscript, because there are many texts that have been physically damaged. Abstract: Local wisdom is believed to be a form of internalization of the values embraced by a particular society or community, which are maintained and disseminated from generation to generation, both through oral and written traditions, one of which is through Wawacan Pandita Sawang manuscripts. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach and philological methods, this study is aimed to explore the values of local wisdom contained in the ancient Sundanese manuscripts. The results showed that the local wisdom recorded in the ancient manuscripts has long been lived and practiced by the people, so that it has formed the character of Sundanese people in carrying out their lives, especially those related to the relationship between humans and God, humans and humans, and humans with their environment. Therefore, the study of this manuscript will reopen and at the same time revitalize the values of local wisdom that once lived in Sundanese society as a comparison to develop values of the present time.

Примерно семь тысяч лет тому назад возникли первые государственные формирования на Ближнем Востоке. Право приобретало свое современное качественное состояние, опираясь на обычаи, традиции, морально-этические нормы, естественно-нравственные источни- ки общества. Позже они стали координироваться и возводиться в ранг рели- гиозных канонов. После длительного эволюционного развития социочеловече- ские нормы выражались в праве, законодательстве и других нормативных правовых актах государства. Таким образом, на смену древних социально- цивилизационных ценностей пришли современные государственно-правовые институты. Annotation. Law and state institutions did not always exist. To reach such a civilizational state, these values have evolved for several millennia. About seven thousand years ago, the first state formations arose in the Middle East. The law acquired its modern qualitative state, relying on customs, traditions, moral and ethical norms, natural and moral sources of society. Later they began to be coordinated and elevated to the rank of religious canons. After a long evolutionary development, socio-human norms were expressed in law, legislation and other regulatory legal acts of the state. So, modern state and legal institutions have replaced the ancient social and civilizational values.

From Jin to Qing Dynasty of China, there are a large number of novels depicting human-ghost romance. In this literature, female images, femininity and gender relationship patterns reflect the patriarchal values of a specific historical period. Previous research on ancient Chinese female ghost novels often focused on their romantic story with a male human and the awakening consciousness of female, but the research on Character depiction of female ghost was very few. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the relationship between the image shaping of female ghosts and the values of contemporary Chinese ancient patriarchal society, existing in the stories of the ancient Chinese romances novels of Song, Yuan and Ming dynasty. Studies have suggested that the female ghosts in ancient Chinese "human-ghost romance" novels are essentially projections of the male author's ideals, reflecting the phallocentrism of ancient Chinese ghost fiction.

Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano is a residual hill over from an ancient volcano. The Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta have designated the area as a Geoheritage, but the aesthetic and cultural aspects of the landscape have not been studied further and are still considered separately. In fact, a landscape is composed of abiotic, biotic, and cultural aspects, all of which interact with each other in the earth system. This study focuses on the aesthetic and cultural aspects of Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano in the perspective of cultural geomorphology. The method used is descriptive qualitative exploratory method. Cultural and aesthetic values are explored through literature studies and field surveys. The results of this study are the immaterial cultural values and aesthetic values of the Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano Geoheritage, such as Nglanggeran Legend, Kampung Pitu’s Folklore, the beauty of nglanggeran landscape, nglanggeran ecotourism, and nglanggeran as artistic inspiration. This study will strengthen the legal basis of Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano as a geoheritage and provide scientific awareness of the relationship between aesthetic and cultural aspects and landforms in a landscape framework.
