The blade/disk interface in turbofan is subject to fretting loading. Fan blade of the new generation of aircraft engines are made of woven composite materials. The introduction of these new kind of materials create the need for a new numerical tool able to simulate the contact between heterogeneous materials. The tribological behavior and the damage mechanism associated with these kind of material are still not well understood. The developpment of new numerical tool able to model the damage in the contact area would allow to predict the life of engines parts and to guarantee the security of passengers. This PhD is about the developpment of semi-analytical methods for modeling the damage in fretting and rolling contact conditions with some applications to heterogeneous materials

This thesis work focuses on the performance evaluation of smart grids, whose role is to ensure the transmission of electricity from the production point(s) to the consumers . Considered as distributed industrial systems with high criticality, these systems have a strong need to meet hard real time requirements. The IEC 61850 standard, deployed for the automation and protection of electrical substations composing these smart grids, proposes a constraint quantification as minimum latencies which must not be exceeded. As IEC 61850 does not recommend any specific approach to guarantee these time constraints, solutions must be found to guarantee the performance. We first propose a new decision support tool, providing simulation results based on the OMNeT++ simulator. Theses models integrate modeling elements for classical Ethernet, Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) and IEC 61850. The second contribution is the analytical modeling of worst-case response time, based on flow scheduling in place of frame scheduling. Thanks to this, we can simplify the worst-case response time analysis by a succession of local analyses based on low computational time operations, while minimizing the worst-case response time pessimism. This approach encompasses classical Ethernet architecture as well as TSN ones. Finally, we study the possible benefits of the Multi-Modeling and co-simulation approach, recognized as a solution for the study of complex systems (including smart grids). We thus contribute to the improvement of the capabilities of the MECSYCO middleware, introducing the possibility for the latter co-simulate smart grids integrating three fields of expertise : electrical engineering, control and digital communication

The failure of the mechanical parts is very often initiated by a surface defects. Consequently, the generation of compressive residual stresses on mechanical parts by introducing a heterogeneous plastic strain improves the resistance to fatigue and increases the lifetime of the parts. Among the processes making it possible to introduce residual stresses into the parts, the laser shock peening is more interesting for several reasons. On the one hand, it makes it possible to produce pressures on the surface of material of about 1 to 6 going GPa over short pulse times from 3 to 30 nanoseconds. In addition, he gives the opportunity of introducing residual stresses of compression on a certain depth while preserving the initial state of the treated part. The numerical simulation becomes necessary to determine the best physical phenomena involved. Thus, the semi-analytical method offers a lot of advantages, in particular the simplicity of the models and the computation times saving. This method was never extended to the dynamic problems. In this thesis the semi-analytical method was extended to the dynamic problems and the model implemented is applied for the simulation of the Laser process of shock

This work will focus on two types of degradation by fretting, wear and damage by degradation of materials properties. An energy wear law will be used to quantify the wear of a coated contact under gross slip conditions. A damage model based on the concept of equivalent strain will be used to study the damage evolution in a coated contact. Analysis of a contact problem requires a robust and fast computation tool. Therefore cyclic wear and cyclic damage simulations can be performed in a short time. To achieve this objective, a contact code based on a semi-analytic method is used. Elementary analytical solutions allow to link the normal and tangential stresses to elastic displacements resulting of the contacting surfaces. These elastic displacements are then expressed by a double product of discrete convolution between the coefficients of influence and solicitations in the contact. The consideration of coating requires the integration of a homogenization model in the contact code. An enrichment technique via the equivalent inclusion method of Eshelby, in which the contribution of one or more inclusions is superposed on the elastic solution, is used. The coating / substrate behavior model can be validated by comparison with results obtained with a model based on the Multigrid techniques. The wear law is then implemented and a wear simulation can now be conducted. Wear simulations are performed for a punch-plane contact under gross slip conditions. Numerical wear results are compared to wear-fretting test conducted by the LTDS. For damage, analytical calculations are first performed to analyze the endommageable behavior under uniaxial cyclic loading. Mazars model is then adapted to the contact problem and implemented. Simulations are then conducted to study the behavior of elastic-damageable contact under fretting loading
Marchetti, Fabien. "Modelling and characterisation of anisotropic multilayered plates on a wide frequency range." Thesis, Lyon, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019LYSEI130.
This PhD thesis concerns the modelling and the dynamic characterisation of anisotropic multilayered structures. In the first chapter, a classification of some analytical models and experimental methods of characterisation is presented in the form of a bibliographical synthesis where the main published results are gathered. The second chapter introduces an extension of an equivalent model of multilayered structures to the case of anisotropic materials. This model describes the first dispersion curves of the structure and considers the shear phenomena that can affect the bending mode in high frequencies. The main advantage of the model lies in its simplicity and rapidity thanks to a number of kinematic variables independent of the number of layers. The characteristics of the multilayer are defined by the 5 flexural rigidities of a thin equivalent plate which is compared to the multilayer. The results of the model are validated by means of an experimental study on carbon fiber composite plates. A particular interest is dedicated to the modelling of structural damping. An energetic loss factor, based on a temporal and spatial definition of the attenuation, is compared to an equivalent one. A new definition of the spatial attenuation is suggested for high damped structures and is compared to literature. In the third chapter, the methodology of the characterisation technique CFAT is adapted for anisotropic plates. This inverse method is based on the displacement field analysis of the structure and has, by means of its local aspect, relevant advantages for industrial applications. This adaptation is, as a first step, introduced for the identification of sources (initial objective of the method) and applied, in a second step, for the characterisation. Several numerical and experimental applications are presented to validate the results of the method. Finally, the fourth chapter deals with the experimental characterisation of a honey comb sandwich on a high frequency range (1 to 300 kHz). The complex dynamic behaviour of this thick structure is described through the promissing results given by the simulations of our model and the estimations of RIC. These results are also compared to the ones of a reference model and other characterisation methods
