Currently, mathematical and computer modeling, as well as systems of symbolic calculations, are actively used in many areas of mathematics. Popular computer math systems as Maple, Mathematica, MathCad, MatLab allow not only to perform calculations using symbolic expressions but also solve algebraic and differential equations (numerically and analytically) and visualize the results. Differential geometry, like other areas of modern mathematics, uses new computer technologies to solve its own problems. The applying is not limited only to numerical calculations; more and more often, computer mathematics systems are used for analytical calculations. At the moment, there are many examples that prove the effectiveness of systems of analytical calculations in the proof of theorems of differential geometry. This paper demonstrates how symbolic computation packages can be used to classify neither conformally flat nor Ricci parallel four-dimensional Lie groups with leftinvariant (pseudo)Riemannian metric of the algebraic Ricci soliton with the zero Schouten-Weyl tensor.

This research was conducted with the aim of describing the engagement of junior high school students in the mathematics learning process measured using an adapted Watson analytical tool. This research is a qualitative study that analyzes video transcripts of a junior high school teacher in West Nusa Tenggara, East Indonesia who are carrying out mathematical teaching on probability. In this study, the teacher carried out mathematics teaching designed by researchers using the ELPSA (Experience, Language, Pictorial, Symbolic, and Application) framework. The learning process was recorded through a video and then transcribed so that it is easily analyzed. The results showed that the dimensions of student mathematical engagement that emerged during the mathematics learning process were dominated by activities comparing/classifying and justifying/reasoning. These results also have a positive impact that by using the adapted of Watson analytical tool to analyze the learning process of mathematics can help teachers to gain deeper insight into students' mathematical engagement. This technique can be used as a reference by the teacher to further analyze so that better teaching actions can be planned.

ABSTRACT The article is devoted to the well-known Russian mathematician Boleslav Mlodzeevsky (10.07.1858- 18.01.1923), who from 1896 to 1913 worked at Moscow Institute of Railway Engineers, now - RUT (MIIT), and was the first head of the Institute’s department of mathematics. Scientific works of the scientist refer to differential and algebraic geometry and its applications. They are of interest to future mathematicians today as well. He was the first to organize such a form of training as a mathematical seminar, read the first course on the theory of functions of real variable and set theory. He developed the Russian terminology of set theory. This year marks the 160th anniversary of a remarkable mathematician and a man who has left an excellent mark in history. Keywords: mathematics, history, differential and algebraic geometry, engineering education, Boleslav Mlodzeevsky, mathematical seminar, set theory, scientific societies.

School is a space where learning mathematics should be accompanied by the student’s preferences; however, its valuation in the classroom is not necessarily the same. From a quantitative approach, we ask from the mathematical thinking styles (MTS) theory about the correlations between preferences of certain MTS and mathematical performance. For this, a valid test instrument and a sample of 275 16-year-old Chilean students were used to gain insight into their preferences, beliefs and emotions when solving mathematical tasks and when learning mathematics. The results show, among other things, a clear positive correlation between mathematical performance and analytical thinking style, and also evidence the correlation between self-efficacy, analytical thinking and grades. It is concluded that students who prefer the analytical style are more advantageous in school, since the evaluation processes have a higher valuation of analytic mathematical thinking.

This article is a conceptual paper that describes different approaches for teaching mathematics to secondary school students that blend learning with the intrinsic motivation that comes from their reactive intelligence. Students ultimately study mathematics after "learning math." The level of the children's mathematical knowledge is revealed by their ability to read a text and recognize symbols, including numbers, and visuals like diagrams and graphs. Adolescents use their diverse skill sets to master mathematics in these different contexts at the secondary level. Here it is found that the students often use the knowledge from their daily lived experiences (from direct and indirect engagements) to assist them with the mathematics in the textbook and used conceptual understanding rather than formal procedures in response to the mathematics textbook. Stimulating questions, analyzing problems, successful responses, and solving techniques are significant motivating tools in mathematics, which is especially beneficial in the framework of Mathematics learning. These tools and techniques are often used at the secondary to teach mathematics.

Graphic statics is undergoing a renaissance, with computerized visual representation becoming both easier and more spectacular as time passes. While methods of the past are revived, little emphasis has been placed on studying the mathematics behind these methods. Due to the considerable advances of our mathematical understanding since the birth of graphic statics, we can learn a lot by examining these old methods from a more modern viewpoint. As such, this work shows the mathematical fabric joining different aspects of graphic statics, like dualities, reciprocal diagrams, and discontinuous stress functions. This is done by introducing a new, three dimensional force diagram (containing the old two dimensional force diagram) depicting the three dimensional equilibrium of planar force systems. A corresponding three dimensional “form diagram” (dual diagram) is introduced, in which forces are treated as linear functionals (dual vectors). It is shown that the polyhedral stress function introduced by Maxwell is in fact a linear combination of these functionals; and the projective dualities connecting these three dimensional diagrams are also explained.

Changes in the mathematics education curriculum affect the preparation of prospective teachers to learn as well as possible and provide extensive opportunities and experiences regarding mathematical proof in secondary schools, especially those reflecting the nature and role of proof in the field of mathematics. Teachers' ability to respond to this depends on their understanding of proof in a mathematical context. This research examined the understanding of 36 prospective mathematics teachers at Tanjungpura University regarding proof and their ability to prove problems in the context of high school mathematics. The data were collected through a series of interviews focused on their responses to the role of proof and from tests to prove math problems. This research is descriptive-analytical research, which describes the conception of prospective mathematics teachers as knowledgeable in mathematics about proof. However, some view proof as a tool for studying mathematics. This research also found that many of them had a limited view of the nature of proof. They lacked a clear understanding of the subject of demonstrating or explaining the process of proving a mathematical statement.

This study seeks to explore the relationship between recent findings on mathematical connections and the Mathematics Teacher’s Specialised knowledge model. From a qualitative approach, we seek to explore the specialised knowledge mobilised during the establishment of mathematical connections in different contexts. The study takes into consideration the results from previous studies that were conducted with both prospective and in service teachers. The results suggest the need to include the notion of complexity in the mathematical connections defined by the Mathematics Teacher’s Specialised knowledge model. Similarly, they suggest that it is possible to find some ambiguities in the use of the model, so it would be enriching to consider the current classification of mathematical connections in order to improve the model as an analytical tool. Finally, the results suggest the need to include mathematical connections as part of the pedagogical content knowledge domain, since the knowledge of this domain could be mobilised during the establishment of mathematical connections.

Motivation of students of mathematical specialties to study various sections of higher mathematics, in particular, mathematical analysis, has not increased in recent years. This undoubtedly leads to a gradual decrease in the level of mathematical training of students. The purpose of the article is to consider the possibilities of using interdisciplinary connections of mathematical analysis and analytical geometry in the educational process for students of mathematical specialties of the Institute of Secondary professional eduation. The article discusses the methods: 1) the implementation of interdisciplinary connections and 2) mathematical modeling. We believe that these methods will help to increase the level of motivation to study mathematical analysis among students. In particular, we consider the problems of calculating integrals using higher-order curves: ellipses, astroids, cardioids. In this regard, we use the following concepts in mathematical models from analytical geometry: Cartesian coordinate system, polar coordinate system, types of higher-order curves, their analytical expressions and images. Based on these facts, applications of certain integrals in geometric and physical problems can be carried out in the following sequence: a) first of all, students get acquainted with the curve, its analytical representation in the Cartesian and (or) polar coordinate system, its graph is constructed; b) historical information about this curve is given; c) specific tasks are proposed in which it is possible to trace the intersubject connections of analytical geometry and mathematical analysis. Main results of the work: 1) identification of intersubject connections of analytical geometry and mathematical analysis; 2) development of a methodology for the application of certain integrals in problems using higher-order curves. The theoretical significance of the study is to identify the possibilities of using intersubject connections of analytical geometry and mathematical analysis. The practical significance lies in the fact that the proposed methodology helps to increase the level of motivation of students to study mathematical analysis.

Quran the book of God Almighty Divine Creator, the all-knowing of and the people circumstances, present and future There is no doubt that it contained among it words the scientific, mathematical and literary miracles, Mathematics is one of the important scientific topics that work on linking and integrating different sciences, The aim of the study is to understand reality in a scientific way, as Muslims, we try to derive scientific and mathematical concepts from this wonderful miracles, The researcher noticed to answer the following question: What are the mathematical concepts contained in the holy Koran? The researcher adopted the descriptive approach (document analysis) because this type is concerned with analyzing information in order to reach a better understanding of the phenomenon to be studied. The researcher found several conclusions which follows: From the above we note that the Koran has involved a superb Mathematical miracle, and this shows that mathematics is the language of the ages in the past, present and future and it’s very important to the human life. And that these concepts are diverse, and it’s preferred to be used as a guidance during the teaching of mathematics. Also, there is no connection between the Quranic verses that carry mathematical concepts and mathematics books for the six grades of the primary stage. The researcher suggested some recommendations, including strengthening the methodological books with Quranic verses in an actual way, and linking life issues taken from the verses of the Holy Quran with purely mathematical situations and then solving them, as linking between Religion and science through linking abstraction to concrete reality enhances the faith, scientific and mental aspect together. In conclusion, I say: Glory be to you, my Lord, you taught the children of Adam all the sciences, and you who made the universe wiser. Nothing is hidden from you. You did not leave a small or a large one except that you put it in your holy book, may God bless you. The article reveals the key aspects of interactive teaching of mathematics in the humanities areas of training. The theoretical and methodological basis of interactive teaching of mathematics is highlighted. Interactive learning acts as a means of organizing a special space of interaction of subjects of educational activity for the construction of developing teaching of mathematics. One of the effective methods of interactive learning is crowdsourcing technology. Crowdsourcing technology is a project to solve a social and significant problem on a charitable basis, in which everyone can participate and offer a variety of solutions through network technologies. The article suggests the stages of working on a crowdsourcing project. An example of the project “Organization of an accessible environment for students with disabilities” for students in the areas of training “State and municipal direction”, “Social work” in the framework of studying the section “Analytical geometry” of the discipline “Mathematics” is presented. Special attention is paid to the mathematical component of the project on the organization of a barrier-free environment for students with disabilities (justification of the project work; drawing project; mathematical calculation using knowledge of analytical geometry; economic justification of the project). The article presents students’ projects containing geometric constructions, mathematical calculations and analysis of the calculations obtained. The conducted reflection and self-assessment showed a high level of interest in the work carried out, highlighted the importance of mathematical knowledge for solving professional problems and increased the level of involvement in the study of mathematics in non-core areas of training. Networking and interaction are a key feature of crowdsourcing technologies. Crowdsourcing allows one to organically integrate mathematical tools into a professional context.

This study analyzed questions (examples and exercises) in the Numbers chapter on Indonesians’ new curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) mathematics textbooks for grade 7. An analytical framework developed for mathematics textbooks question analysis had seven dimensions: Mathematical Activity, Problem Complexity, Answer Type, Contextual Situation, Response Type, Mathematical Questions, and Data Problem. The result showed that the Indonesians’ new curriculum of secondary mathematics textbooks contains more balanced question types. In Mathematical Activity question types, only 46.73% of questions were about counting and using count operations. The questions about interpretation were 28.97% and questions that needed an argument or logical reasoning were 15.58%. In question type analysis, 22.12% were open-ended questions and 77.88% were close-ended questions. We also found that there were no multiple choice question types in Indonesians’ new curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) mathematics textbooks for grade 7. On the other hand, we also found questions with insufficient data (12.15%) and extraneous data (7.48%).

In the teaching community, there is an ongoing discussion about the difference between visual and analytical thinking and the issues of psychological-pedagogical argumentation of the concept of visual teaching mathematics. Following the discussion, this paper is aimed to identify visual images understanding. The research objective is to identify the role of images in the formation of mathematical concepts (using an example of the concept of function). The novelty of the work is that an image is considered not as a result but as a condition for mathematical concept understanding. The authors used theoretical and experimental methods of study (the analysis of psychological and pedagogical sources, testing, and survey). To achieve the goal, special examinational questions were developed. The authors identified the role of influence of using images and concepts initially existing in the student’s mind on the efficiency of understanding the essence of a mathematical concept. The study revealed that students who have the skills of both visual and analytical thinking demonstrate the best results of understanding mathematical concepts. The research shows that visual and analytical types of thinking not always comply with each other, therefore, methodologically verified teaching mathematical concepts and relations should be proportionally balanced. The prevalence of any type of thinking by the students is individual. The essential prerequisite for successful application of visual teaching methods is to take into account the initial images, ideas, and associations of students in teaching. Visualization is an important method of learning mathematics; however, understanding mathematical concepts does not suppose isomorphism between understanding of a concept and its image.

Topicality. In modern conditions, the society feels a growing demand in products made from natural ingredients of high nutritional value. Such products include meat pastes, the quality of which depends on their recipe, technological processes, equipment, and modes of its operation. With the implementation of innovative technological regimes and new equipment, there is a necessity to determine and prognosticate the quality of food products at all stages of their production and sale. According to the mentioned above, as well as economic feasibility of using automated systems for technological processes management, there is a need to elaborate a new mathematical and analytical approach to assessing and prognosticating changes in the quality of meat paste with various additives. Aim and research methods. The aim of this research is to elaborate a method for modeling the material system state, based on differential equations of kinetics of biochemical processes, assessment, and prognostication of food quality. Research methods. The method of mathematical and analytical evaluation of the paste products quality is grounded on modified mathematical models, differential equations, visualisation of research results in the form of 3D graphs, obtained by using symbolic computer mathematics. The quality of new meat paste products is compared with the quality of the paste, which is assumed to be relatively optimal according to the main organoleptic parameters of sensory quality assessment and control sample. The control sample of the paste is cooked according to the classical technology, and the recipe (GSTU 4424:2005). The prototype samples are cooked according to the innovative technology, which involves adding mechanically deboned poultry meat to the main raw material. Results. New results of analytical and experimental studies of the quality of meat paste products, cooked according to the classic recipe with the use of mechanically deboned poultry meat, are offered. The method for determining the coefficients, included in the mathematical model for assessing the meat paste products quality, their analytical relation with the optimization parameter, is elaborated. The expediency of using modern methods of symbolic computer mathematics for solving and analysing differential equations, presenting results in 3D graphs, is proved. The conducted research makes it possible to prognosticate the quality of food products, to control possible changes in their recipe while using various additives, to carry out elaborating new paste products. Conclusions and discussion. Based on the results of theoretical and experimental studies, a new mathematical model for estimating the quality of meat paste products in the form of the first-order differential equation, is offered. Its analogue is the equations, recommended for modeling the processes of biochemical kinetics. It is proved that the computer programme of mathematical and analytical research and prognostication the foodstuff quality (Goots et al., 2018) is universal. The offered mathematical model makes it possible to envision the quality of meat paste products, based on organoleptic evaluation. With its help, it becomes possible to determine the vector of possible changes in product quality and its optimisation, while elaborating the 3D graph. Mathematical and analytical assessment of the new paste products quality highlights that the partial replacement of the main meat raw by mechanically deboned poultry meat, and in pastes, made according to classical technology and the GSTU recipe (4424:2005), does not really reduce the parameters of organoleptic evaluation. In some cases, they are even higher than in the control paste samples, and very close to optimal ones. This new mathematical and analytical approach to assessing the paste products quality is promising in new culinary products elaboration in the restaurant business.

Life in today’s world is characterized by complexity and rapid change. Twenty-first century skills and especially mathematical understanding are supposed to crucially contribute to meeting the demands of our world since mathematics offers strategies to structure or simplify complex problems. An open question is which teaching practices are appropriate to provide all students with such skills and to broaden the participation of underprivileged students. The present article explores these aspects by focusing on complex tasks, a practice that can be considered highly accepted in the context of mathematics education all over the world. We will concentrate on the perspective of the German mathematics education community as the foundation of our considerations. Based on an analytical investigation of mathematical literacy and twenty-first century skills (such as creativity, critical thinking, or problem-solving), we will address central ideas and characteristics of complex mathematical tasks. To complement the analytical approach, we will illustrate their characteristics as well as possible intersections with twenty-first century skills by presenting an elementary school teaching experiment. Finally, we will critically discuss the potentials and pitfalls of complex mathematical tasks from an abstract perspective and conclude by debating practical consequences for organizing mathematical learning-teaching-processes.

Purpose Learning mathematics is a complex process, requiring many conceptual lenses and rich data sources to document and understand students’ construction of knowledge. The purpose of this article is both to introduce a unique database on students’ mathematical learning and to describe analytical techniques used to study students’ growth of the knowledge of mathematics and language. Design/Approach/Methods Our approach includes the following aspects: First, we describe a unique collection of video-taped recordings of longitudinal and cross-sectional studies of diverse, U.S. students, learning mathematics (Video Mosaic Collaborative, VMC). Second, we introduce our analytical methods, which utilize the database for collaborative study of students’ learning. These methods include video-narrative analyses that display fine-grained examinations of interactions among students who are solving engaging problems that require them to reason mathematically and to represent their understandings with language and non-language forms. These analyses, referenced as VMCAnalytics, demonstrate the accessibility and flexibility of the database to study relationships among students’ mathematics and language learning. Findings The findings generated are illustrated by two examples demonstrating the accessibility and flexibility of the database to study relationships between mathematics and language learning (mathematics register). Originality/Value The contribution of our work is illustrated by describing the rich database; employing a collaborative research approach; and signifying our understanding of relationships among students’ mathematical and language learning.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the analytical aspect of musical and numerical memory, while comparing the memory of familiar schema (in music) or logical patterns (in mathematics) with those that are not so. Adult musicians from Western and Arabic cultures responded to musical patterns, based on various kinds of schemata of both cultures, as well as to series of numbers, based on mathematical formulas (including randomly arranged series). It was found that the musical memory depended on both the level of musical training and the culture from which the music stemmed. The more trained subjects were able to analyze the patterns, and even to correct them according to the familiar schemata. The two groups differed in their numerical memory: while the western subjects used analytical strategies in order to memorize the patterns, the Arabic subjects used merely technical strategies. Moreover, while the western subjects memorized the mathematical patterns (based on schemata) more easily than the randomly arranged patterns, there was no difference between the memorization of the two among the Arabic subjects. This could be related to the difference between the cultures in this aspect.

This article reveals exploration of mathematical models and concepts in <em>QS An-Nur: 24:26</em>. This research stems from the ineffectiveness of learning mathematics because the process does not begin with students' initial understanding. In fact, according to NCTM, teaching and learning will be effective if it starts from what students know. In Islamic school students, initial knowledge can be extracted from the Qur'an because the Qur'an is a learning tool in believing in Islam, so it is recognized that the verses of the Qur'an are contained in the cognitive structure of students, which can facilitate learning. Unfortunately, the sources of learning mathematics and the Qur'an used by Islamic schools have not covered all topics of learning mathematics, so to complete it, it is necessary to model the verses of the Qur'an related to mathematics. This research was conducted to obtain mathematical modeling and concepts at the high school/equivalent level using the Miles and Huberman analysis method combined with Blum and Leib modeling and Abdussakir theory and Pseudo concrete. Based on the combination of analytical theory, the modeling and mathematical concepts contained are relations, surjective and bijective functions, inverse functions, and reflections.

Mechatronics in Agriculture, refers to the integration of mechanical engineering, electronics, control systems, and computer science in designing and creating intelligent systems. In the context of agriculture, mechatronics plays a crucial role in automating various processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and sustainability in farming. By the other hand the teaching of mathematics is an essential component of education, helping students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Regarding the teaching of mathematics, integrating mechatronics can provide practical applications for mathematical concepts. Mechatronics systems involve mathematical models, algorithms, and control systems. By incorporating mechatronics projects into math curricula, students can gain hands-on experience applying mathematical concepts to real-world problems. This integration can make mathematics more engaging, relevant, and tangible for students, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the subject. Overall, integrating mechatronics in agriculture not only improves agricultural practices but also offers opportunities to enhance the teaching of mathematics through practical applications. The final recommendation is that mechatronics for the teaching of mathematics should be interrelated with agricultural projects so that students learn in a positive way with contributions to the community, likewise research in this regard should be promoted since it is null in these topics.

Abstract: This study assessed the mathematical and analytical readiness of the incoming first-year college engineering students (K-12 2020 graduates) in Eastern Visayas in the Philippines. First-year engineering students (n=177) participated in the College Math Readiness Test (CMRT), a questionnaire on mathematics subjects that covered Precalculus, Analytical Geometry, Series and Mathematical Induction, Trigonometry, and Basic Calculus: Limits and Continuity, Derivatives, and Integration. The findings indicate that 43% of the respondents were mathematically-college-ready (MCR) and 57% were not-mathematically-college-ready (NMCR). Regarding the NMCR, 39% fared fairly and 18% fared poorly in the CMRT. This suggests that remedial support for mathematics for this group may be required for them to be college-ready for an engineering course. The respondents had the lowest correct mean score for the Integration subjects: Evaluating Differential Equations (15%), Evaluating Definite Integrals (16%), and Solving Area Between Curves (19%). The results of the ranking of the Senior High Schools (SHS) showed that 13 SHS with at least 2 takers and 24 SHS with single takers need to improve their quality of teaching to enhance the mathematical competence of their graduates. The findings of this study were used to identify remediation areas and recommendations to improve the students' college mathematical and analytical readiness. Education is considered an important and strategic factor in national development, with efforts oriented towards improving the quality of human resources. In dealing with problems in social life, of course, every student needs to develop process skills. The process skills of each student will be honed by itself if students have the will to be better. It relates to physical and mental skills that result in good attitudes and processes. This study aims to determine the relationship between students' analytical thinking and process skills using the problem based learning model and the problem solving model, and to find out the differences between students' analytical thinking and process skills using the model and the problem solving model. This research uses quantitative research with associative and comparative types of research. For this type of associative research, descriptive statistical tests are used, while for this type of comparative research, assumptions and hypothesis tests are used. The sampling technique used is purvosive sampling with the criteria of students studying mathematics on circle material, the samples taken are 180 students. The results showed that there was a relationship between analytical thinking and student process skills with the problem based learning and problem solving models besides that there was a comparison between analytical thinking and student process skills in both schools. The analytical soliton solutions to the coupled Radhakrishnan-Kundu-Lakshmanan (RKL) model are greatly important for birefringent fibers without the effect of four-wave mixing (4WM). A significant number of general and standard analytical soliton solutions to this model have been extracted using three powerful techniques, namely the generalized Kudryashov’s method, the extended tanh method, and the G ′ / G -expansion method in this article. The schematic profiles of the solitons are sketched using the symbolic mathematical program Mathematica and are presented in two and three dimensions. The reported solutions might be helpful in explaining the RKL equation’s physical significance as well as some other related nonlinear phenomena that appear in engineering and nonlinear sciences.
