Zusammenfassung. Das Mental Health Literacy tool for the Workplace (MHL-W; Moll, Zanhour, Patten, Stuart & MacDermid, 2017 ) ist ein vignettenbasiertes Instrument mit 16 Items zur Messung psychischer Gesundheitskompetenz im Arbeitskontext. Nach der Übersetzung ins Deutsche sowie einer Anpassung der Vignetten anhand einer qualitativen Expertenbefragung, wurde das MHL-W-G an zwei deutschsprachigen Stichproben mit 122 Studierenden sowie 317 Berufstätigen hinsichtlich Reliabilität, Konstruktvalidität, Messinvarianz, Geschlechtereffekte und Faktorstruktur analysiert. Erstmalig wurde die Faktorenstruktur (EFA/CFA) des MHL-W-G untersucht: Im Gegensatz zu dem von Moll et al. (2017) ursprünglich angenommenen einfaktoriellen Modell zeigte ein Modell zweiter Ordnung eine deutlich bessere Passung. Weiterführende Analysen ergaben gute interne Konsistenzen und Intraklassenkorrelationen. Die Ergebnisse deuten auf Messinvarianz des MHL-W-G unabhängig vom Geschlecht hin. Insgesamt lassen die psychometrischen Eigenschaften den Schluss zu, dass mithilfe des MHL-W-G psychische Gesundheitskompetenz am Arbeitsplatz reliabel und valide erfasst werden kann.

Das Jahr 1965 nimmt einen spezifischen Platz in der Werkbiographie Wolfgang Hildesheimers ein. Im März dieses Jahres erschien Tynset, dessen Erfolg bei Publikum und Kritik in die Verleihung des Bremer Literaturpreises und des Büchner-Preises im Folgejahr mündete. Das Buch hatte aus der Krise des Schriftstellers Anfang der sechziger Jahre, der er in seinen Vergeblichen Aufzeichnungen 1963 Ausdruck verliehen hatte, eine inhaltlich wie poetologisch spektakuläre Konsequenz gezogen und gilt bis heute als die vielleicht herausragendste Leistung des Schriftstellers. Kaum bekannt hingegen ist, dass in dieses selbe Jahr bereits die Anfänge der Arbeit an einem Text fallen, der mit dem Tonfall, den Stoffen, aber auch den Schauplätzen der monologischen Prosa, die Hildesheimer in Tynset entfaltet hatte, nahezu keine Übereinstimmung aufweist: das Drama Mary Stuart.1 Den Impetus, der Hildesheimers Arbeit an diesem Text maßgeblich bestimmte, gab der Schriftsteller am 2. April 1966 dem Suhrkamp-Lektor Karlheinz Braun gegenüber zu erkennen. In einem knappen Abriss des Projekts teilte er ihm mit, dass sein ,,Wunsch, gerade Mary Stuart zu behandeln, zum Teil eine Reaktion gegen dieses entsetzliche Dokumentarstückfieber“2 sei.

I am pleased to respond to Stuart Soroka's set of criticisms of the concepts, methodology and conclusions of my research into Canadian federal agenda-setting. My two articles were not intended to be the last word on the subject, and I am glad to see that they have sparked some interest and, hopefully, some future additional research into the subject. That having been said, let me make several points with respect to the central issues raised in the discussion and the general arguments made about the role of empirical research in the policy sciences.

I am most grateful for the critical, yet on the whole positive and inspiring reactions of Stuart Campbell and Jonathan Last, who offer ample opportunities for an archaeological dialogue. Besides specific questions, they raise a number of important issues which have a general theoretical significance. Last, moreover, presents some new and most interesting data on horned objects from Çatalhöyük West, whereas Campbell comes up with some additional and intriguing examples of the relations between death, fire and abandonment in the late Neolithic of the Near East. In my reply I wish to start with the specific issues before I move on to more general topics.

In his concurring opinion in the recent tax treaty case United States v. Stuart, Justice Scalia reports that “I have been unable to discover a single case in which this Court has consulted the Senate debate, committee hearings or committee reports” to interpret a treaty. Even more sweepingly, he says that two 1988 opinions in a district court are the “first (and, as far as I am aware, the only) federal decisions relying upon pre-ratification Senate materials for the interpretation of a treaty.” He moves from there to conclude that the “Restatement (Third) of the Foreign Relations Law of the United States §314, Comment d (1986); id., §325, Reporter’s [sic] Note 5 … must be regarded as a proposal for change rather than a restatement of existing doctrine.” Those are the paragraphs in which the Restatement approves the use of such materials.

Dabei sollen auch Aussagen zur Größenordnung des Schadens bei sehr unwahrscheinlichen Ereignissen gemacht werden. Die Naturgefahr Sturm wird getrennt nach außertropischen Zyklonen und Tornados betrachtet. Im ersten Fall werden empirische Verteilungsfunktion und mittels einer Markov Methode erzeugte synthetische Windreihen zur Abschätzung extremer Windgeschwindigkeiten genutzt. Eine Abschätzung der Böen wird durchgeführt und der Schaden mit Hilfe einer einfachen Beziehung zwischen Böengeschwindigkeit und Schaden ermittelt. Für die Abschätzung des Schadens im Falle eines Tornados werden von Dotzek angegebene Wahrscheinlichkeiten für Tornados in Deutschland und die Definition einer Tornadointensitätsskala als Schadensfunktion verwendet
Some conceptions were explained, to estimate the risk of storm caused damages. The amount of damage by unlikely events is assessed. The natural hazard storm is considered separately for extratropical cyclones and tornadoes. Empirical distribution functions and synthetic series of wind speeds generated by a Markov chain model are used to derive the extreme wind speeds for cyclones. An estimation of gust speeds are performed and a simple relationship between gust speed and damage is applied. The likelihood of tornadoes to occur in Germany provided by Dotzek and the definition of an intensity scale are used to estimate the damage in the case of tornadoes

Анотація:

Es wird eine Methode zur Generierung von Sturmszenarien vorgestellt. Mit Hilfe des Lokal Modells werden Ensembles von Szenarios zu historischen Zyklonen abgeleitet. Dabei werden die Antriebsdaten für das Modell so verändert, dass stärkere Sturmfelder nerzeugt werden können. Auf Basis einer Schadensfunktion wird der Sturmschaden abgeschätzt. Damit ist es möglich, die Abdeckung mit Sturmfeldern zur Untersuchungdes Sturmrisikos zu erhöhen.

Contributors’ choices about identification with sex work and square work are related to post-structural theories of identities and inform elements of macro and micro role transitioning necessary for duality. Insights from Stuart hall, as well as Goffmanian, Du Boisian approaches to understanding social identities, double consciousness, and the differing presentations of self, necessary for managing identity and information, aid in deepening understanding of role transition as it relates to stigmatised workers. Literature on macro and micro role transition and rites of passage supplement descriptions of Contributors’ rituals of movement and the mental shifts made between roles and how they construct their work environments and social life-worlds in ways that promote seamless role transitions and separation for those who work from home.

John Stuart Mill (1806–1873) erkannte früh, dass eine freie und gerechte Wirtschaftsordnung mit einem Minimalstaat nicht zu machen ist. Andererseits sah er aber auch die Gefahr, die von einem prinzipienlos in das gesellschaftliche und wirtschaftliche Leben eingreifenden Staat ausgeht. Compared to herpetological population adjustment patterns in North America (sec Holman, 1995c), the patterns in Britain and central and northern Europe seem to be rather straightforward. Basically, (1) very few herpetological species were present in ice-free areas during full glacial times, and (2) formerly glaciated areas were reinvaded by species from the south during warming cycles. Moreover, during climatic optimal warm times, several southern species existed well north of their present ranges. The invasion of southern Europe by northern populations in cold times is taken for granted (e.g., Rocek, 1995), although, as addressed in this chapter, it is difficult to document this in the fossil record. As indicated by geological and fossil evidence, the British Islands were connected to continental Europe during much of the Pleistocene. Although sea level changes in the British late Pleistocene arc a subject of some controversy (Stuart, 1982), it is generally agreed that Britain first separated from Ireland and then from the continent early in the Holocene. The classic idea is that the very depauperate British heretofauna of the cold part of the Devensian (last glacial stage) became somewhat, but not fully enriched by herpetological species during a warming trend that began about 10,000 ybp and lasted until about 8,500 ybp. The fact that Ireland has a much poorer modern herpetofauna (Triturus vulgaris, the rare Bufo calamita, Rana temporaria, and Lacerta vivipara) than Britain, which has six native species of amphibians and six native species of reptiles (Fra/,er, 1983; Smith, 1964), is attributed to Ireland's early separation from Britain. The Irish herpetofauna suggests that this separation occurred rather soon after the final withdrawal of the Devensian (last glacial) ice sheet. One of the most common questions asked about snakes, especially near St. Patrick's Day, is, "Have there ever been any snakes in Ireland?" No fossil snakes have ever been found in Ireland. But since Ireland lacks a terrestrial fossil record during most of the time that snakes have existed, it would seem that snakes could have lived in Ireland during some part of geological time. As far as I am aware, the few Pleistocene deposits containing herpetological remains in Ireland represent very late Devensian (last glacial) times.
