Il percorso di testimonianze medievali sul territorio piemontese è di estremo interesse, in particolare l’area albese risulta essere ampia e ricca di architetture medievali che insieme costituiscono un patrimonio inestimabile. Gli edifici sacri sono gli elementi chiave di questa ricerca: chiese, pievi, monasteri, cappelle, formano una maglia territoriale da ripercorrere in modo diacronico. L’Albese è un’area apprezzata, ma rischia di essere valorizzato un solo settore del patrimonio culturale. L’obiettivo di questa ricerca è quindi anche quello di mettere in evidenza dei beni culturali cosiddetti minori. Essi non sono le mete dei grandi flussi turistici, piuttosto elementi altrettanto rappresentativi della storia dei luoghi, più adatti ad una categoria di utenti indirizzata verso un turismo culturale, lento, contemplativo. La ricerca è stata impostata secondo una prima parte di studio generale del territorio e della storia della diocesi, con particolare attenzione alla cattedrale di Alba che è stata considerata il principale termine di paragone per le chiese analizzate, di particolare interesse anche per la sua posizione geografica assolutamente poco baricentrica rispetto all’estensione diocesana, all’estremo nord, cosa che lascia supporre la mancanza di relazioni forti con quelle chiese nelle aree meridionali più periferiche. Avendo creato un primo quadro generale, si è proceduto a ripercorrere detta maglia, così da mettere in relazione la maggior parte degli edifici individuati. In particolare, questi studi e le ipotesi di trama territoriale medievale si sono restituiti tramite il loro georeferimento su mappa, che ha permesso l’interazione dei dati raccolti e delle carte prodotte. Sono state rappresentate all’interno del territorio diocesano medievale le differenti categorie di chiese, verificando la presenza di tipologie simili, murature o apparati decorativi ricorrenti. È stato altresì utile, per comprendere le modifiche subite dalla diocesi, ragionare sui confini e sulle loro trasformazioni nel tempo, così come sugli abbandoni e trasformazioni. Sono state confrontate circa 30 schede che hanno messo in evidenza aspetti quali lo stato di conservazione, le differenti proprietà, la presenza di elementi ricorrenti, i rapporti comuni. Nella seconda parte si è posta l’attenzione sulle murature. È stata affrontata un’indagine bibliografica estesa da cui si è dedotta la metodologia di analisi. Mirati rilievi murari sono stati realizzati per attuare uno studio comparativo tramite un abaco murario che ha permesso, per quanto possibile, di ipotizzare delle datazioni laddove le architetture non presentassero fonti documentarie esistenti. La realizzazione di un atlante delle tecniche murarie, basato su un censimento esaustivo del sopravvissuto vorrebbe così costituire uno strumento assolutamente efficace e privilegiato per la conservazione dei beni culturali, utile e necessario proprio perché lo studio ha messo in evidenza come gli interventi eseguiti sui beni siano stati spesso incongruenti e incompatibili. In particolare, si è fatto riferimento a delle unità murarie schedate, che identificano le diverse fasi costruttive caratteristiche di ciascuna architettura. Questa fase è stata supportata dall’esame dei cosiddetti elementi datanti laddove fossero ancora presenti sulla muratura originaria: archetti pensili e monofore. Risulta quindi evidente l’importanza della sovrapposizione dei diversi dati estrapolati dalle precedenti fasi di studio: le fonti documentarie e bibliografiche, le tipologie e gli elementi architettonici riscontrabili sul territorio, l’inquadramento in categorie delle unità murarie, la comparazione degli elementi decorativi e, infine, il confronto con le architetture appartenenti alle aree circostanti, quali l’Astigiano, l’Acquese, la Liguria. Si tratta di un’analisi complessiva di un vasto patrimonio che, architettura per architettura, vuole dimostrare l’eccezionalità del territorio in questione, tentando di rispondere alla domanda: si tratta di un unicum territoriale? Ci sono degli elementi che si riscontrano costantemente, legati alle caratteristiche territoriali, riguardanti cioè i materiali (arenaria, assenza di ciottoli, assenza di corsi decorativi in materiale differente). Tuttavia, non ci sono corrispondenze tipologiche fisse. Si riscontra un’area a nord est che è legata a una muratura più curata e regolare, tipica di edifici definiti come “esenti” nel XIV secolo, quali priorati o monasteri. Un’altra zona con caratteristiche simili è quella più a sud, in cui si riscontrano delle influenze provenienti dal Ponente ligure. È quindi dimostrato come il rapporto con la cattedrale sia quasi nullo, se non per l’identificazione di pochi caratteri riscontrabili in modo sporadico nelle architetture all’interno del territorio, dimostrando perciò la tesi iniziale.

Edward Albee is influenced by the Absurd Drama of Samuel Beckett whose works involve existential concerns. Albee follows Beckett&rsquo
s traces in the dramatization of uncertainty, alienation and the question of freedom. Albee&rsquo
s characters do not have fixed identities, and they suffer from their identity problems. The notion of Other enhances this uncertainty. The ambiguity of existence, whether they really are or not, presents another problem for these characters. Their lives are based on illusions, and the line between the reality and fantasy is absent. Alienation of the human being from the self and the others is another existential theme that Albee deals with. Alienation is partly caused by lack of communication, and as a result, the isolated self is entrapped in his own condition. Freedom becomes a confusing question in his works as it makes the characters anxious while choosing one option among various others on his own, and as it renders the characters responsible for their free choices. So, the characters tend to be passive agents in life, which is in fact another choice. Albee extends Beckett&rsquo
s absurdist ideas and adopts the Absurd Drama to highlight his social concerns as he is also a social critic. The targets of his criticism are materialism, loss of values and broken human relationships. The playwright challenges the audience for a reform on these points.

Figure patricienne incontournable du panorama de la création théâtrale, digne successeur d’Eugene O’Neill, de Tennessee Williams et d’Arthur Miller, Edward Albee (1928-2016) a insufflé une nouvelle vitalité au théâtre américain. Son œuvre iconoclaste, reçue avec ricanements, consternation ou enthousiasme, rejette l’existence d’une coupure entre la réalité, ses apparences, et l’imaginaire. Meneur de jeu imaginatif et provocateur, Albee cherche à produire un théâtre “réaliste” en abordant le problème des rapports entre apparences et réalité dans le théâtre du monde (Theatrum Mundi), sur le plan social (rôle et dimension humaine), logique (sens et non sens) et psychologique (raison et folie), ainsi que sur le plan de la représentation théâtrale (personnage et acteur). His iconoclastic body of work, which was met with sneering, dismay or enthusiasm, disproves the split between the real, its appearances and imagination. An imaginative, provocative playmaker, Albee aims at producing a “realistic” drama by tackling the problem of the links between appearances and reality in the Theatrum Mundi on various levels : social (role and human dimension), logical (meaning and absurdity), psychological (reason and madness), as well as on the level of performance (character and actor). The purpose of this study was to develop and implement a protocol for risk analysis and assessment of veteran trees in public places. One of the main objectives of the management plans of the historical sites is the preservation of the trees "founders". Many of the trees "founder" survivors are subjected to inappropriate management practices, which lowered their life expectancy and greatly reduced their biomechanical safety factor. The protocol developed for the assessment of these trees is based on two types of analysis: a biological assessment of tree health and well-being, and a new method for assessing the biomechanical stability of the tree ( OREBLA - a worksheet digital based tree modeling and evaluation system ). The biological evaluation of tree health is a critical step to evaluate the ability of a veteran tree to react to management practices that lead to the reduction of the biomass. In particular, the metabolic activity of the root system is evaluated by measuring the starch content of the root that has been shown to be related to the response to tree management practices. OREBLA is an integrated tool biomechanical analysis, which includes a modeling of the tree structure based on the protocol EUROCODE for the evaluation of the safety factor of structures exposed to the wind . The evaluation is based on data dendrometric and diagnostic, non-invasive tools for the analysis of the trunk and limbs ( Sonic tomography and electrical ) , and also on an assessment of the risk of tree failure due to fracturing of the plate ( Pulling Test). The protocol was tested in the assessment of veterans 'founders' of the Park trees Revedin Bolasco in Castelfranco Veneto (Italy).
Lo scopo dello studio è stato quello di sviluppare e implementare un protocollo per l'analisi del rischio e la valutazione di alberi veterani in luoghi aperti al pubblico. Uno dei principali obiettivi dei piani di gestione dei siti storici è la conservazione degli alberi " fondatori". Molti degli alberi "fondatore" superstiti sono sottoposti a pratiche gestionali inadeguate, che ha abbassato la loro speranza di vita e notevolmente ridotto il loro fattore di sicurezza biomeccanico. Il protocollo messo a punto per la valutazione di questi alberi si basa su due tipi di analisi: una valutazione biologica di salute degli alberi e il benessere e un nuovo metodo per la valutazione biomeccanica della stabilità dell'albero ( OREBLA - un foglio di lavoro digitale basato modellazione albero e sistema di valutazione ). La valutazione biologica di salute degli alberi è un passo fondamentale per valutare la capacità di un albero veterano di reagire alle pratiche di gestione che comportano la riduzione della biomassa. In particolare l'attività metabolica del sistema radicale viene valutata mediante la misurazione del contenuto di amido radice che è stato dimostrato essere correlata alla risposta albero alle pratiche di gestione. OREBLA è uno strumento integrato analisi biomeccanica , che comprende una modellazione della struttura ad albero basato sul protocollo EUROCODE per la valutazione del fattore di sicurezza di strutture esposta al vento. La valutazione si basa su dati dendrometriche e diagnostici, strumenti non invasivi, per il tronco e gli arti di analisi ( Sonic e tomografia elettrica), e anche su una valutazione del rischio di fallimento albero a causa della zolla fratturazione (Pulling Test). Il protocollo è stato testato nella valutazione degli alberi veterani " fondatori " del Parco Revedin Bolasco a Castelfranco Veneto ( Italia).

A obra de arte dramática, diferentemente de outras formas artístico-literárias, é a que de forma mais prática e imediata estabelece uma relação entre seu realizador e o público ao qual ela é destinada. Contudo, o drama moderno, produzido a partir do final do século XIX, passou por uma série de crises e adaptações quanto à forma e ao conteúdo, decorrentes de várias mudanças ocorridas nos mais diversos setores da sociedade. Edward Albee é um dos maiores dramaturgos norte-americanos da segunda metade do séc. XX. Seguindo uma tradição que produziria grandes talentos como Eugene O'Neill, Tennessee Williams e Arthur Miller, o novo autor surge em 1958 com seu texto, The Zoo Story, associado ao Teatro do Absurdo. A peça de forma minimalista põe em cena dois bancos de praça e duas personagens: Peter que é a própria personificação do self made man, já que está enjaulado aos ideais e aos valores burgueses de vida, e Jerry o outsider ou o transeunte permanente que não se insere nos padrões, no código moral e de valores socialmente estabelecidos. Entretanto, ou por isso mesmo, possui uma capacidade reflexiva extremamente aguçada. O objetivo é tratar de um aspecto da peça - a questão da absurvidade e da liberdade, como formas de transcender a angústia existencial e a vida sem significado em um contexto destituído de símbolos metafísicos. Analisar-se-ão os elementos relacionados a estes tópicos bem como o modo que servem de instrumento para o esvaziamento da ideologia burguesa, que culmina na crítica ácida que Edward Albee desfere ao American way of life.
Dramatic art, differently from other literacy-artistic forms, is the one that most practically and immediately establishes a relationship between its producer and the audience it is created for. However, modern drama, produced since the end of nineteenth century, has gone through many crises and adaptations in its form and content, originated from many changes occured in the various instances of society. Edward Albee is one of the major American playwrights of the second half of the twentieth century. Following a tradition which produced gifted authors such as Eugene O'Neill, Tennessee Williams and Arthur Miller, the new author appears with his play The Zoo Story in 1958, associated to the Theater of the Absurd. The play, in a minimalist way, stages two park benches and two characters: Peter, the personification of the self made man, encaged in the bourgeois ideals and values of life; and Jerry, the outsider or the permanent transient who does not fill in the patterns, in the moral code or the established social values. However, or because of this, he has a sharpened reflexive ability. The aim of our search is to treat one aspect of the play - absurdity and freedom - a means of transceding existential anguish and life without meaning in a context deprived of metaphysical symbols. We intend to analyze elements related to these topics, as well as the way they function as instruments for the emptying bourgeois ideology which, ends up the sour criticism Albee aims at the American way of life.

Contudo, o drama moderno, produzido a partir do final do século XIX, passou por uma série de crises e adaptações quanto à forma e ao conteúdo, decorrentes de várias mudanças ocorridas nos mais diversos setores da sociedade. Edward Albee é um dos maiores dramaturgos norte-americanos da segunda metade do séc. XX. Seguindo uma tradição que produziria grandes talentos como Eugene O'Neill, Tennessee Williams e Arthur Miller, o novo autor surge em 1958 com seu texto, The Zoo Story, associado ao Teatro do Absurdo. This thesis examines Albert Speer, minister of armaments in Germany during World War II, and the charges against him during the trial of the major war criminals in Nuremberg, Germany, 1945-1946. This thesis portrays Albert Speer as a good man enticed by the power of his position and subsequently playing a role in the crimes of the Third Reich. Primary sources included the Nuremberg Trial proceedings published by the International Military Tribunal and Speer's books, Inside the Third Reich; Spandau: The Secret Diaries; and Infiltration. The thesis has six chapters: preface, biography, the charges against Speer, the verdict, the aftermath concerning his time in Spandau Prison, and a conclusion. Albert Speer accepted his guilt, yet came to resent his imprisonment and questioned the validity of the trial.

Cette thèse propose une lecture de la création de Camus sous l’angle démocratique et antitotalitaire pour démontrer l’aspect innovant de sa pensée qui est plus que jamais d’actualité. Cent ans après la naissance de l’écrivain prix Nobel de littérature, son œuvre ouvre de nouveaux axes de réflexion à mi-chemin entre la philosophie, la science-politique et la littérature. Après une introduction générale aux concepts de totalitarisme et de démocratie, nous passerons plus spécifiquement à l’étude de l’auteur. Nous esquisserons un portrait de Camus en tant que journaliste engagé dans les batailles de son temps et nous aborderons une analyse comparative entre Camus et les intellectuels ou penseurs qui ont influencé sa pensée démocratique et inspiré sa réflexion sur les totalitarismes. Ensuite, nous focaliserons l’analyse sur certaines œuvres : les essais journalistiques (Actuelles I, II, III) et philosophiques (L’Homme révolté) ; les œuvres de fiction, comme La Peste, ainsi que trois pièces de théâtre Caligula, Les Justes et L’État de siège. En nous basant sur ce choix d’œuvres, nous examineront la technique adoptée par Camus pour transférer dans la fiction le débat démocratique contre les totalitarismes de son époque. Enfin, nous étudierons du point de vue lexicologique les termes de totalitarisme et démocratie, ainsi que tous leurs synonymes entrant dans le champ sémantique du débat antitotalitaire
This thesis proposes a reading of Camus’ creation from the democratic and antitotalitarian perspective in order to demonstrate the innovative aspect of his thought, which is more actual than ever. One hundred years after the birth of the writer, Nobel Prize for literature, his work opens up new lines of thought halfway between philosophy, science, politics and literature. After a general introduction to the concepts of totalitarianism and democracy, we will proceed to the more specifically study of the author. We sketch a portrait of Camus as a committed journalist in the battles of his time and we will discuss a comparative analysis between Camus and intellectuals and thinkers who influenced his democratic thought and inspired his thinking on totalitarianism. Then, we will focus the analysis on certain works : journalistic (Actuelles I, II, III ) and philosophical essays (The Rebel), fictional works, such as The Plague, and three plays Caligula, The Just Assassins and The State of siege. Based on this selection of works, we will examine the technique adopted by Camus to transfer into the fictional the democratic debate against the totalitarianism of his era. Finally, we will study from a lexicological point of view the terms of totalitarianism and democracy, and all their synonyms within the semantic field of anti-totalitarian debate

This essay examines The Myth of Sisyphus (1942), The Plague (1947), and The Rebel (1951). I have chosen these three works in an effort to triangulate Camus' intellectual development, his persistent interest in literature, and the historical background against which these take place. Sisyphus and The Rebel are Camus' two major philosophical essays. The former belongs to Camus' "First Cycle" of writing, in which he focused on the concept of "the Absurd"; the latter belongs to Camus' "Second Cycle", in which he focused on the theme of "revolt." Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus during the Nazi occupation of Paris, an event which he witnessed and experienced and which also served as the inspiration for his novel The Plague. Though the two books are connected by this event, thematically The Plague belongs to Camus' Second Cycle. For this reason, it serves as an illuminating work, demonstrating the importance of fiction to Camus' intellectual process and his particular way of thinking. From Sisyphus to The Rebel, Camus' argument for fiction comes down to the opportunity it offers to describe life rather than explain it. In his opinion, the best novelists exhibit the very philosophy that should generally govern human behavior. These novelists limit themselves to what they can be sure of – namely, their personal experiences; they patiently explore what it is like to live on this earth – how human beings deal with each other, manage their environments, and cope with the often tremendous complexities of life. Not co-incidentally, Camus' fiction took special interest in death of all kinds – from murder to sickness to suicide – in order to remind his readers that life is finite. According to Camus, writing fiction is a way to keep the reader conscious of the human condition, because good fiction plainly exhibits life as it is and death as our common fate. By reflecting on good literature, readers may form their own life ethic.

Em nossa dissertação, procuramos pensar a ação a partir do itinerário filosófico de Albert Camus. A princípio, investigaremos as possibilidades da ação a partir da fratura entre o homem e o mundo, ao que Camus denomina absurdo. Ação que não pode redundar em suicídio filosófico ou físico, posto que esses são modos de trair a constatação da absurdidade da vida. A ação absurda não pode mais visar o absoluto e se fiar em valores transcendentes e absolutos. Ela tem que respeitar os limites agora descobertos: a relatividade e a ignorância humana frente ao futuro. Por isso, a atitude coerente ao absurdo é “viver mais”, “bater todos os recordes”, já que o homem tem apenas o presente. Mas tal atitude não pode fundamentar uma regra de conduta, não pode oferecer uma referência para a ação frente aos outros homens. A ação tem de ser pensada a partir da revolta, pois ela pode nos revela um valor, em nome do qual o homem pode agir. Pela revolta, o homem toma consciência de um valor comum a todos os homens; é a descoberta de uma natureza humana. É a fidelidade a essa natureza que deve conduzir e limitar a ação revoltada. ________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
In this dissertation we try to think actions from the philosophic itinerary of Albert Camus. At first, we investigate the possibilities of actions from the rupture of man and the world, what Camus denominates 'absurd'. Actions that cannot end in some kind of philosophical ou physical suicide, given that those are ways of betraying the verification of the absurdity of life. The absurd action cannot look for the absolute nor trust transcendental and absolute values. It has to respect the limits now discovered: human relativity and ignorance in face of the future. As a result, a coherent attitude towards the absurd is to 'live more', 'brake all records', given that man has only the present. But such an attitude cannot found a rule of conduct, cannot offer a reference for an action with regard to other men. The action has to be thought from the revolt itself, since it can reveal us a value, in the name of which man can act. By the revolt man becomes aware of a common value to all men; and that is the discovery of a human nature. It is the fidelity with respect to that nature that has to conduct and limit the revolted action.

The majority of what is currently known about the Albee Phase comes from mortuary sites, the largest of which is the Commissary site (12-Hn-2), located in Henry County, Indiana. Excavation methods at Commissary left burial context in question and the materials could not be used for research on mortuary patterns. Examination of the skeletal material and supporting documentation led to a determination of the relationship between the two grids utilized during excavation, which clarified burial context and allowed for a more complete description of mortuary patterns at the site. Analysis reaffirmed previous conclusions regarding demography, clarified burial composition, and generated new data on burial orientation. Comparisons of the Commissary site with four other Albee Phase mortuary sites and an Oliver phase site indicate that the sites share a mixture of characteristics and that, due to its immense size, the Commissary site remains a unique example of Albee Phase mortuary patterns.

Questa tesi analizza gli aspetti peculiari caratterizzanti il fenomeno migratorio contemporaneo degli albanesi dall’area balcanica nell’area veneta. Esplora tre diversi ambiti disciplinari: studi sociali, studi culturali e studi sociolinguistici. La prima parte ricostruisce la fenomenologia e il quadro storico degli eventi migratori esplorandone le caratteristiche delineanti e viene studiato il background della società albanese contemporanea, al fine di comporre una visione integrale delle traiettorie incrociate degli albanesi nella storia comune della loro terra di origine, prima dell’arrivo nella loro terra di immigrazione. La seconda parte comprende i risultati delle ricerche sul campo relative alla questione sociale dei vari focus groups esaminati in Veneto e in Albania, in linea con la visione transnazionale della migrazione come fatto sociale duplice, studiato sia nel contesto di emigrazione che in quello di immigrazione. La terza parte concerne lo studio di alcuni aspetti della cultura albanese esportati, evoluti oppure trasformati dall’evento migratorio nei soggetti indagati, soprattutto negli albanesi di seconda generazione. Nella quarta parte si analizzano le produzioni linguistiche degli albanesi di seconda generazione per verificare le problematiche della preservazione della lingua albanese e le pratiche linguistiche differenziate di L1 e L2 (bilingual mode e code-switching) nei domini di riferimento (sociale o familiare).
This thesis is concerned with the analysis of the peculiar aspects characterizing the contemporary migration phenomena of the Albanians from the Balkan area to the Venetian region. It explores three disciplinary fields: the social, the cultural and sociolinguistic studies. In the first part, the respective phenomenology and historical framework of the migration’ events (1990-2010) are reconstructed in order to explore their delineating features. Besides, the contemporary Albanian society’s background (1985-2010) is studied with the purpose of compounding an integral view of the intersected trajectories of the Albanians in the history of their land of origin/of emigration, before their arrival in their land of immigration. The second part of this thesis includes the fieldworks’ results related to the social question of the different Albanian focus groups examined in Venetian region and Albania, compatible with the transnational vision of migration as a double social fact that concerns the researches conducted in either the emigration or the immigration contexts of the migrant. The third part of the study is concerned with the exported, evolved or transformed aspects of Albanian culture in the observed subjects, with particular attention to the second generation’ Albanians. In the fourth part, the linguistic productions of the second generation’ Albanians are analysed in order to verify the difficulties of preservation of the Albanian language, the differentiated linguistic practises of L1 and L2 (bilingual mode and code-switching) in the respective domains (social or family).
