This thesis examines the ways in which designers in architecture, urbanism and landscaping agencies take sustainable development into account in their professional practices. It looks at what their attempts to appropriate sustainable development reveal about the operations of such organizations, the place of the latter in the project process, and the diverse positions and values that can develop as a result. Based on the in situ observation of a Parisian agency of about twenty designers between 2010 and 2013, our work has led to the definition of three axes of research : the approaches, contents and statuses that the designers attribute to sustainable development ; the designers’ value systems and how these evolve when they are faced with sustainable development ; the designers’ skills and roles in creating sustainable cities. The findings highlight that there is diversity in the designers’ approaches and priorities with regard to sustainable development. Skills appear to play a role in cognitive and operational appropriation, but also in the competition between professions. Furthermore, designers base their practices on norms and values that stem from the sometimes conflicting logics of the market, industrial, civic, fame and inspired worlds (Boltanski, Thévenot, 1991). The designers’ attempts to appropriate sustainable development reinforce rather than transform the tensions between these logics. This thesis aims to increase the knowledge about the mechanisms at play when urban design stakeholders adopt sustainable development. It contributes to a better understanding of the modes of operation of designers, observed in the environment of their agency
Hochscheid, Elodie. "Diffusion, adoption et implémentation du BIM dans les agences d'architecture en France." Electronic Thesis or Diss., Université de Lorraine, 2021. http://www.theses.fr/2021LORR0207.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a set of methods, processes and tools that provide continuity and use of building information throughout its lifecycle. It improves the way buildings are designed, built and managed. BIM diffusion is encouraged in France and throughout the world because it holds great potential both for the Architecture Engineering Construction and Operation (AECO) sector and for the State as an asset manager. However, its diffusion requires the development of an extensive regulatory, technical and social framework. Its diffusion is slow and raises a broad range of reactions from practitioners, especially architects. As a central member of the project management team and intervening at the beginning of a building lifecycle, architects are a key player of BIM diffusion among the AECO sector. Although BIM is a collaborative innovation, the adoption of BIM practices impacts each firm individually. This impact is very little known and studied, both at the organizational level and at the sector level. In this research work, we propose several models for understanding the diffusion and adoption of BIM in organizations, as well as the factors that influence it. These models have allowed us to survey architectural firms using mixed methods in order to map the state of the architectural sector, the progress of BIM adoption within firms, and the strategies that they develop to implement BIM practices. The survey highlighted some contradictions between the professional culture of architects and characteristics of the BIM technology. The interest of many design firms in BIM practices despite these contradictions could be a sign of a cultural change. Our immersion in four architecture firms within the scope of action research has allowed us to study the mechanisms that take place during the implementation of BIM tools and practices. Implementation is often a radical change for a design firm and is difficult to carry out. We exploited all the observations made during the survey and research action to provide recommendations and a roadmap for design firms wishing to implement BIM practices
Charles, Ségolène. "L’élu, le citoyen et le praticien : chroniques urbaines : l'expérience du projet urbain participatif dans les petites villes." Thesis, Paris, HESAM, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020HESAC009.
In a national context of transferring their competences to intercommunal institutions, reducing their resources and weakening of their regulatory prerogatives, local elected representatives in small cities, and their technical services, are faced with issues that often exceed their capacity for action. The implementation of a participatory urban project requires a paradigm shift in the political and professional cultures they have inherited. It clearly makes it necessary to rethink their roles and modalities of intervention.Based on the experience of an architectural and urban planning agency, this thesis analyses the place and the modalities of action of the elected representative as "Occasional Contracting Authority", for urban projects organized with significant and unusual participatory ambitions for the community. On the basis of three case studies, it describes and interprets the difficulties encountered by the small city and its accompanying structure. Relying on an approach of "observant participation" and on the Theory of Social Regulation, this research examines the conflicts and negotiations within the system of actors implied in the urban project in which the local elected is involved
Velontrasina, Irène. "Modèle conceptuel uniforme pour l’adaptation des agents logiciels en environnement ambiant." Thesis, La Réunion, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019LARE0015.
This work deals with adaptation issues of computer systems that operate in an ambient environment. Such system is characterized by a set of heterogeneous components, which are distributed and connected to a network. The ambient environment is highly dynamic. Unpredictable events may result in a potential disturbance at any time. Therefore, on the one hand, the cohesion of their collective activities is not always guaranteed. On the other hand, the normal functioning is not always maintained when disturbances occur. To cope with these issues, we propose a conceptual model of architecture that provides adaptation. The point is to optimize their collective activity. Our main contribution is a uniform and generic pattern. We call it GMAS. It relies on a behaviour-based approach. The special feature of GMAS is the checking of the applicability of a behaviour before its execution. Checking criteria are mainly the current state of both the external surroundings and the action interfaces. Future behaviour is adjusted according to checking outcome. This mechanism leads to adaptation. The GMAS architecture model enables independent management of behaviours and exceptional events. As a result, the objectives of the agent or those of the collective do not have to take into account these exceptional events in their source code. This model uniformly manages adaptation issues of both the individual level and the collective level. We argue that collective adaptation comprises the consideration of the individuality. We aim to make agent flexible once it is at a collective level. To this end, we instantiate GMAS to design an agent internal architecture for the individual level. For the collective level, we instantiate GMAS as a coordination model for collective behaviours. This instantiated model is based on the distribution of the operating modalities. With these three conceptual models: generic, for individual level and for the collective level, we prevent harmful situations during the execution. We implement each model as a Java library to validate its effectiveness
