Percutaneous transvenous mitral commissurotomy (PTMC) is one of the treatment modality in the management of rheumatic mitral stenosis. Reuse of sterilized PTMC balloon catheters has been widely practiced in developing countries to bring down procedural cost. PTMC by reused balloons are prone to deform and rupture during procedure. This can cause fatal complications like embolism of air or balloon material. Herein, we report a case of Accura balloon rupture during PTMC without any fatal complication. Thus, during balloon preparation particularly of reused balloon, it should be examined for any deformity or tear and air should be removed completely to prevent the fatal outcome.

Background/Aim. There is limited published evidence on the cytotoxicity of 3D printed polymer materials for dentistry applications, despite that they are now being widely used in medicine. Stereolithography (SLA) is one of the foremost 3D processes used in 3D printing, yet there are only a small number of resin materials reported to be suitable for medical applications. The aim of this study was to investigate, in vitro, the cytotoxic effect of the 3D printed resin in order to establish the suitability for its usage in dentistry and related medical applications such as surgical dental guides, occlusal splits and orthodontic devices. Methods. To examine the cytotoxicity of the 3D printed polymer-based epoxy resin, Accura? ClearVue? (3D-Systems, USA), two cell cultures were used: mouse fibroblasts L929 and human lung fibroblasts MRC-5. Cell viability was determined by Mosmann's colorimetric (MTT) test and the agar diffusion test (ADT). Results. Direct contact of the tested material with ADT test showed nontoxic effects of tested material in any cell culture. The tested material showed no cytotoxic effect after 3 days of extraction of the eluate by MTT test, but mild cytotoxic effect after 5, 7 and 21 days on both cell lines. The cytotoxicity increased with increasing the time of the eluate extraction. Conclusion. 3D printed polymer-based epoxy resin, Accura? ClearVue? (3D-Systems, USA) is considered appropriate for making surgical dental implant guides according to the cytotoxic behavior. According to the mild level of cytotoxicity after the longer extraction periods, there is a need for further evaluation of biocompatibility for its application for occlusal splints and orthodontic devices.

Convolutional neural network is a machine learning that provides a good accura-cy for many problems in the field of computer vision, such as segmentation, de-tection, recognition, as well as classification systems. However, the results and performance of the system are affected by the CNN architecture. In this paper, we propose the utilization of evolutionary computation using genetic algorithm to de-termine the optimal architecture for CNN with transfer learning strategy from parent network. Furthermore, the optimal CNN produced is used as a model for the case of the vehicle type classification system. To evaluate the effectiveness of the utilization of evolutionary computing to CNN, the experiment will be conducted using vehicle classification datasets.

A neurodevelopmental disorder named autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is challenging to diagnose. The prevailing diagnostic manner is based merely on the behavioral measure-ment with a high tendency of misdiagnosis. People require an advanced method to make more quantitative diagnosis. In this paper, two deep learning architectures were explored with the machine learning methods. The Mixup method was used to augment the original functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging data. Features of the data extracted by two dif-ferent kinds of autoencoders which are Sparse Autoencoder and Variational Autoencoder were used as inputs of two deep neural networks functioning as classifiers respectively. The models can classify patients with ASD from typical control subjects with the accura-cy of 75.5% and 75.2% respectively, which outperformed the other state-of-the-art meth-od by 4.7% and 4.4%. The further significance of this project is to help develop our per-ception of the neurobiological foundation of the ASD.

Manichean political rhetoric can be best summarized as a generalized trend, by an agent with political power in a given field, to increasingly express themselves in their official capacity as a political actor through a binary lens: presenting issues and/or solutions to the public in that field of power as being either “A or B”. This reductionism in presentation of problems and solutions appears, historically, to coincide with a rise in autocratic behavior on the part of the political actor. To this day, however, a true predictive test for the emergence of Manichean political rhetoric, does not exist. While we can often observe and critic the presence of it, and the transition from complex to binary rhetoric after such rheto-ric has been used, a predictive determinative framework (one that can say with a high degree of accura-cy that this shift is about to happen) still does not exist. This articles is an attempt to do two things: understand more accurately the difficulties that arise in attempting to create such a predictive frame-work and provide theoretical modeling of such frameworks to assess their potential functionality as predictive tools.

In Saudi Arabia, all high school graduates who want join local universities have to go through a preparatory year before selecting their specific specialization/major. One of the most concerning issues for those fresh undergraduate college students is the selection of their specialization. College specialization selection is critical for them, as their academic and career future will be affected by this decision. An un-suitable specialization selection will have unfortunate consequences, not only on the students' future but also on the university’s resources and budget. This paper sug-gests a solution to this problem by introducing a preliminary study of a recommend-er system (RS), which will recommend the appropriate specialization for the students based on various tests and grades during the preparatory year at King Abdulaziz University (KAU). The proposed system guides students through their specialization selection process based on their abilities. The collaborative filtering technique was used to build the RS and K-fold cross-validation was adopted to evaluate its accura-cy and performance. The results showed the prediction of a specialization for each student with good accuracy ratio. These promising initial results provide a feasible solution to assess this issue further in future studies.

This article concerns coordinate metrology and contact coordinate measurements which are conducted using a coordinate measuring machine. The paper presents the results of experimental investigations, based on which a model to calculate the time needed to conduct coordinate measurements to determine the flatness deviation of a selected surface of a machined product was developed. The time taken and the accuracy of the coordinate measurements influence the effectiveness of coordinate measurements of geometrical quantities of products and the productivity of the entire manufacturing process. Therefore, when planning a strategy for the coordinate measurement process, apart from considering the measurement uncertainty, the duration of individual measurement tasks should also be taken into account. A coordinate measurement time model was developed by use of response surface methodology (RSM). Experimental research was carried out using an ACCURA II coordinate measuring machine equipped with a VAST XXT measuring probe and cooperating with Calypso inspection software. The coordinate measurement time model which was developed was implemented in the selected metrology software of the coordinate measuring machine. The purpose of the implementation was to enable application of the mathematical model created into industrial practice.

Offshore structures are exposed to random wave loading in the ocean environment and hence the probability distribution of the extreme values of their response to wave loading is required for their safe and economical design. To this end, the conventional simulation technique (CTS) is frequently used for predicting the probability distribution of the extreme values of response. However, this technique suffers from excessive sampling variability and hence a large num-ber of simulated response extreme values (hundreds of simulated response records) are required to reduce the sampling variability to acceptable levels. A more efficient method (ETS) was recently introduced which takes advantage of the cor-relation between the extreme values of surface elevation and their corresponding response extreme values. The method has proved to be very efficient for high-intensity sea states; however, the correlation and hence the efficiency and accura-cy of the technique reduces for sea states of lower intensity. In this paper, a more efficient version of the ETS technique is introduced which takes advantage of the correlation between the extreme values of the nonlinear response and their corre-sponding linear response values.

The article describes a combined mesh-free method for solving mixed boundary value problems for the Laplace equa-tion arising from the analysis of potential physical fields in homogeneous media. The solution using mesh-free meth-ods of fundamental solutions and the Monte Carlo method is found. The modification of these methods is carried out taking into account the features that arise when setting mixed boundary conditions at the computational domain boundary. The conjugate fundamental solutions of the Laplace equation and the procedure of random walk by spheres are used, taking into account the features of constructing the trajectory of motion, close to the boundary part on which the normal derivative is set. The article proposes a procedure for the combined implementation of both two mesh-free methods of fundamental solutions and the Monte Carlo method which provides higher calculations accura-cy. The combined method was verified using benchmarks which are the results obtained using the reference solution squared and the solution obtained by the finite element method using the FEMM 4.2 software package when analyzing the electromagnet gap field in the vicinity of the.

Objective.To examine the level of evidence for criterion-concurrent validity of spinal mobility assessments in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS).Methods.Guidelines proposed in the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses were used to undertake a search strategy involving 3 sets of keywords: accura*, truth, valid*; ankylosing spondylitis, spondyloarthritis, spondyloarthropathy, spondylarthritis; mobility, spinal measure*, (a further 16 keywords with similar meaning were used). Seven databases were searched from their inception to February 2014: AMED, Embase, ProQuest, PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, and Web of Science. The Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies (with modifications) was used to assess the quality of articles reviewed. An article was considered high quality when it received “yes” in at least 9 of the 13 items.Results.From the 741 records initially identified, 10 articles were retained for our systematic review. Only 1 article was classified as high quality, and this article suggests that 3 variants of the Schober test (original, modified, and modified-modified) poorly reflect lumbar range of motion where radiographs were used as the reference standard.Conclusion.The level of evidence considering criterion-concurrent validity of clinical tests used to assess spinal mobility in patients with AS is low. Clinicians should be aware that current practice when measuring spinal mobility in AS may not accurately reflect true spinal mobility.

The methods of detecting objects and tracking their movements are among the methods that are relied upon in many fields, whether medical or industrial, and others. One of these areas that will rely on deep learning meth-ods in discovering and distinguishing the player's movements is the sports field and is very useful in games in which the player's degree depends on the accura-cy of the performance of the movement, such as the gymnastics game, where it was applied to the static ring gymnastics game, where the distinction of move-ments was discovered the stability in this game is based on a convolutional neu-ral network. Models. The neural network was trained on five of the most im-portant stability movements in this game after creating the data set based on a set of videos of tournaments held in the period from 2016-2022, where an aver-age of 1500 images were obtained for each stability movement, which was di-vided into 80% for training and 20 % for testing, after training the convolution-al neural network model, it was applied to a group of video clips for different tournaments. Many criteria were adopted to measure the efficiency of the model after training and practical application, which showed the efficiency of the pro-posed system.

One of the main qualitative indicators of computing tools is the accura-cy of the results of solving applied problems by them, in particular, prob-lems of modeling and control of dynamic systems. However, despite the widespread use of computer technology (CT), the problem of assessing the accuracy of calculations cannot be considered solved, and its relevance is growing due to the rapid development and spread of cybernetic tools for various purposes. The severity of the problem lies in the complexity of the analysis of calculation errors, which leads to the cumbersomeness of ana-lytical justifications and the large volume of calculations required to obtain specific numerical data.To solve many technical and research problems, both universal and specialized OT tools are widely used. The characteristic difference of the latter from universal tools of OT is a deliberately narrow class of algo-rithms that are implemented, oriented (class) to solving a limited range of applied problems. At the same time, it is naturally expected to achieve a number of certain (compared to universal OT tools) advantages, which usually include one or a group of factors, such as:increased speed, a non-analytical method of solving problems (for analog specialized OT tools), reduced mass-dimensional characteristics and cost, etc. It should be noted that the problem of accuracy is relevant for both universal and specialized OT tools, being somewhat transformed, depending on the type of tool and the principle of its action, for example, the originality of primary errors.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to determine the influence of a toroidal cutter axis orientation and a variable radius of curvature of the machined contour of sculptured surface on the five-axes milling process. Simulation and experimental research performed in this work are aimed to determine the relationship between the parameters of five-axes milling process and the shape and dimensional accuracy of curved outline of Inconel 718 alloy workpiece. Design/methodology/approach A subject of research are sculptured surfaces of the turbine blade. Simulation research was performed using the method of direct mapping tools in the CAD environment. The machining research was carried out with the use of multi-axis machining center DMU 100 monoBLOCK DMG, equipped with rotating dynamometer to measure the components of the cutting force. To control the shape and dimensional accuracy, the coordinate measuring machine ZEISS ACCURA II was used. Findings In this paper, the effect of the toroidal cutter axis orientation and the variable radius of curvature of the machined contour on the parameters of five-axes milling process and the accuracy of the sculptured surfaces was determined. Practical implications Five-axes milling with the use of a toroidal cutter is found in the aviation industry, where sculptured surfaces of the turbine blades are machined. The results of the research allow more precise planning of five-axes milling and increase of the turbine blades accuracy. Originality/value This paper significantly complements the current state of knowledge in the field of five-axes milling of turbine blades in terms of their accuracy.

Problem statement. Bees are important pollinators for various plant species and are essential in maintaining our planet's biodiversity. With the decline in the number of bees worldwide, monitoring the bee hive state has become increasingly important. Pur-pose. Individual bee identification is an important task that, if performed well, will help to track the bee hive population and its health state in general. Related work. With the development of deep learning and computer vision technologies, several studies were done on their application in detecting insects like wasps, spiders, or fruit flies. Materials and methods. Photographs of bee hive frames with bees on them are being used as a da-ta source for model training. These photographs were manually annotated using Remo annotation software. This study uses five widely used deep learning architectures (Fast-er R-CNN ResNet152, CenterNet ResNet50, SSD ResNet50, Faster R-CNN Inception ResNet V2, SSD MobileNet V2) for the purpose of bee detection on test images. These models were trained on the same dataset and evaluated on the same bee image set. Re-sults and discussion. According to the confusion matrix, SSD MobileNet V2 architecture showed the best detection performance with 80% detected bees on test files, but it also had the falsest negative entries. On the other hand, Faster R-CNN ResNet152 model showed the best results in accuracy and evaluation speed, but successfully identified on-ly 61% of the bees. Conclusions. The experiment showed that state-of-the-art CNN ar-chitecture SSD MobileNet V2 is a better performer with detecting 80% and 95% accura-cy on bee images test set.

The information technology of biometric identification of a person has re-ceived further development due to the use as a source of primary data of infor-mation models of the oculo-motor system (OMS) of the «input-output» type based on the Volterra series. Eye-tracking technology is used to build models. Experimental studies of the OMS of two respondents were carried out. Based on the data obtained with the Tobii Pro TX300 eye-tracker, the transient func-tions of the first, second and third orders of the OMS when applying the Volter-ra series model were determined. This makes it possible to increase the accura-cy of OMS modeling and, as a result, to increase the reliability of recognition in the space of the proposed heuristic features, which are determined using inte-gral and differential transformations of multidimensional transient functions of OMS, which greatly simplifies the identification of features and the practical implementation of the Bayesian classifier.A high variability of the transient functions of the second and third or-ders for two respondents was revealed. Thus, it seems appropriate to use multidimensional transient functions for biometric identification.A set of heuristic features are proposed, which are determined on the basis of multidimensional transient functions obtained from eye-tracking data. The informativeness of individual features and their combinations in pairswas investigated. Two-dimensional feature spaces with the maximum value of the probability of correct recognition indicator when solving the problem of biometric identification of a person were found (Pmax=0.974). The research results were obtained using the construction of Bayesian clas-sifiers in different spaces of the proposed features by means of machine learning based on the data of the formed trainingsamples

THE PURPOSE. Improving the accuracy of forecast calculations of demand for energy resources is an urgent task, especially in the light of the Digital Energy of the Russian Federation program. Prediction is also required for he at supply systems. The complexity of the analysis is the lack of confirmation of the similarity properties of energy systems and complexes for buildings with similar functionality. On the example of buildings of secondary educational institutions located i n the territory of Moscow, the assumption of heteromorphism of thermal systems is proved. METHODS. In the work, an assumption was made that there were no significant changes in the data on the heat consumption of the energy facilities of schools, which was confirmed by the absence of changes in the average annual heat consumption and jumps in the monthly heat consumption diagrams. The amount of heat energy consumption measured and transferred to the IS is influenced by a number of additional factors: accura cy drift of heat energy metering devices; aging and overgrowing of the internal surfaces of the building's heating network equipment; physical aging and deterioration of the building envelope and deterioration of their thermal insulation performance. When compiling predicted energy consumption, this means that it is permissible to use not only statistical data about the analyzed object itself, but also about a variety of objects similar to those analyzed in structure and functionality. RESULTS. A set of input factors is proposed that makes it possible to accurately determine the predicted demand for thermal energy for buildings of secondary educational institutions. The possibility and similar accuracy of the results of forecasting the demand for thermal ene rgy is shown both through the use of multivariate regression analysis and artificial neural networks. CONCLUSION. ЭBased on the combined use of various mathematical approaches, it is proposed to use the methodology for forecasting energy demand by energy complexes and systems as a mechanism for determining the correctness of the transmitted meter readings.

The article presents a new method for determining the distribution of measurement points, which can be used in the case of contact coordinate measurements of curvilinear surfaces of products. The developed method is based on multi-criteria decision analysis. In the case of the new method, the selection of the distribution of measurement points on free-form surfaces is carried out based on the analysis of five different criteria. The selection of the best model of the distribution of measurement points results from the accuracy of coordinate measurements, the time needed to complete measurement tasks, the number of measurement points, the accuracy of the substitute surface representing the measured free-form surface and the area where measurement points are located. The purpose of using the developed method of the distribution of measurement points is to increase the performance of coordinate measurements primarily by increasing the automation of strategy planning of measurements of curvilinear surfaces and improving the accuracy of measurements of free-form surfaces of products. The new method takes into account various aspects of coordinate measurements to determine the final model of the distribution of measurement points on measured surfaces of products, thereby increasing the probability of the proper determination (i.e., identifying the highest deviations of a product) of the location of measurement points on the surfaces of a measured object. The paper presents an example of the application of the created method, which concerns the selection of the best model of the distribution of measurement points on a selected free-form surface. This example is based on, among others, the results of experimental investigations, which were carried out by using the ACCURA II coordinate measuring machine equipped with the VAST XXT measuring probe and the Calypso measurement software. The results of investigations indicate a significant reduction in time of coordinate measurements of products when using the new method for determining the distribution of measurement points. However, shortening the time of coordinate measurements does not reduce their accuracy.

The problem of expansion in powers is generalized into decomposition of positive integers in the sequence of degrees of different orders, the con-ditions of decomposition are determined, and the algorithm for decomposi-tion is constructed. The algorithm is based on two procedures: 1) achieve-ment a minimum of residual at each algorithm step; 2) speeding of decom-position through expanding the local base by reducing decomposition in-dex, which ensures finiteness of algorithm. The algorithm has such effi-ciency factors as high rate of decomposition, ease of implementation, availability of different options for the decomposition of numbers as in ex-tended, narrowed, sparse bases, which protects the encoded information from external influences. The algorithm can be used to encode large amounts of digital information under basic systems of small dimensions. Decomposition of positive integers into a sequence of powers is opti-mal and correct. Optimality of decomposition follows from the condition that at each step of algorithm the minimum value of disjunction in the space of mixed parameters x∈N,y∈Ris achieved. Correctness of algo-rithm is due to the fact that when the disjunction is reduced, the algorithm expands the basis of decomposition by reducing the degree indicators by one. By switching from a discrete model to a continuous model by replac-ing the degrees with power functions, we obtain a smooth approximation of the ill-conditioned function in the neighborhood of decomposition. The construction of posinomial polynomials on the basis of smooth polynomi-als is one of the promising directions of integration of ill-conditioned non-differentiable functions and smooth replacement of variables in the catas-trophe theory.Posinomials (functions with a variable exponent) predict the step of splitting the integration interval into parts, since they determine the loga-rithmic rate of change of an arbitrary monotonic function. The method of decomposition of positive integers provides an optimal decomposition into the sum of powers, and therefore the transition from a discrete model to a continuous model in the neighborhood of decomposition by replacing powers with power functions as well as allows to achieve the high accura-cy of approximation.

Significant non-technological losses of electricity are observed in 0.38 kV distribution networks, which lead to financial dam-ages of energy supply companies. The reason for their occurrence is the deficiencies in the accountingunits functioning inthe re-duced load mode, which occurs during the downtime of the main technological equipment. The purpose of the study is to increase the accuracy of electricity measurement by a commercial accountingunit in the reduced load mode based on mathematical modeling of measurement uncertainty. Evaluation of regression parameters for the static characteristics of measuring current transformersin the reduced load mode is carried out using the covariance analysis methods and analysis of regression residuals. Estimation of the non-random uncertainty of electricity measurementby one measuring channel of theaccountingunit was carried out using the fuzzy set theory. The polynomial approximation of the experimental values of the membership function for the measured quantity was carried out according to the maximum norm method. The least square method was used to approximate the boundaries of fuzzy functions. As a result of research, a universal static characteristic of a measuring current transformer of a certain accuracy class was obtained at a reduced primary current. It was established that the sample estimates uncertainty of the current transformer error of the 0.5 S accura-cy class changes from ±11.7% to ±1.7%. The uncertainty of electricity measurement by the commercial accountingunit in the re-duced load mode is proposed to be estimated by a fuzzy function. The developed mathematical model takes into account the depend-ence of the fuzzy interval boundaries, which characterizes the measurement result, on the phase currents asymmetric values. Compar-ison of the analytically obtained membership function for the relative deviations of the readings of the accountingunits with the em-pirically obtained value of such a deviation made it possible to establish the limitvalue of the confidence level, which was not less than 0.54 at the minimum permissible value of 0.4 of the adequacy criterion. This confirms the adequacy of the results of mathemati-cal modeling with experimental data. Estimating the electricity metering uncertainty with a fuzzy interval increases the accuracy of the measurement, as it allows clarifyingthe monthly electricity consumption by taking into account the energy that was consumed during the reduced load mode

The use of information technology in medical practice radically changes the formulation, methods and means of solving most practical problems. The transition to modern information technologies provides new opportunities and improves the quality of service, reduces examination time, increases diagnostic accura-cy, etc. Purpose of the study. Extraction of information about the use of information technology for deci-sion support in medical diagnostics based on the analysis of publications in this field. Materials and meth-ods. For a formal representation of the process of structural-semantic analysis\ of information on the use of IT in medicine, a functional model was built in the IDEF0 notation. When conduc¬ting research in a spe-cific subject area, an analysis of known scientific results and practical solutions is required, for which scien-tific publications posted in various sources are used. There are platforms where information about such da-ta is collected, allowing to determine the quantitative indicators of the publication, their specific character-istics, etc. Semantic analysis tools were used to identify the dynamics of the appea¬rance of publications; to make comparative analysis of the effectiveness of various scientists and research organizations; to deter-mine publishing activity in the journal sector. To determine the features of publishing activity, an addition-al analysis was conducted by the analyst, who is a specialist in semantic analysis. Statistical analysis methods were used to process the collected information. Since a small amount of data has been collected, there is no need to use specialized analysis tools, and Excel tools were used to build charts. Results. The key characteristics of publications on the analyzed topic, the dynamics of the appearance of articles, the most active authors, scientific schools and the most popular journals in which the research results are published are identified. The results of extracting information about research in the field of IT use in cardiology from the most popular publications of active authors are presented. Conclusion. The analysis of publications based on the data of the elibrary.ru platform is a preliminary stage in the study of scientific texts on a se-lected research topic. For the future research, it is necessary to develop an information system to support researchers with complex indicators and data based on the analysis of scientific texts.
