Рассмотрены вопросы оптимального уровня продуктивности коров черно-пестрой породы при сохранении продуктивного долголетия: раздой животных по 1 лактации, корреляция удоев за 1—8 лактации, влияние отцов и матерей на долголетие коров, потенциал молочной продуктивности матерей быков-производителей. Коровы с более высоким удоем за 1 лактацию имели лучшие удои за 3 и наивысшую лактации. С увеличением продуктивности за 1 лактацию свыше 7000 кг молока число лактаций снижается. Более выравненной продуктивностью за все лактации отличались коровы с удоем от 4000 кг до 7000 кг. Положительное влияние на раздой и пожизненную продуктивность дочерей имела продуктивность матерей. Наиболее высоким уровнем реализации потенциала продуктивности отличались особи с удоем матерей от 4000 кг до 6000 кг за лактацию. Положительная взаимосвязь удоя за лактацию установлена с родительским индексом коровы (0,251) и удоем за 305 дней наивысшей лактации матерей (0,251) и матерей отцов (0,254). Увеличение продуктивности матерей отцов за 305 дней наивысшей лактации способствует росту удоя за наивысшую лактацию дочерей. При этом дочери превосходят матерей по удою за наивысшую лактацию от 291 до 895 кг в среднем на 1 голову в зависимости от класса продуктивности матерей отцов. The research paper covers issues on the optimal milk performance in cows provided the retention of the production longevity: milk yield in cows per lactation, milk yield correlation for 1 to 8 lactation cycles; the influence of genetic aspects on cow longevity; milk performance in female cows being mothers of male cows. Cows with a higher milk yield per lactation showed a better milk yield per 3 and the highest lactation. When the milk performance per lactation increased 7000 kg, the number of lactation cycles decreases. The most uniform milk performance throughout lactation cycles was shown by cows yielding 4000 to 7000 kg of milk. Milk performance of daughter cows depended on that of their mothers. The highest level of milk performance potential implementation was shown by specimens born by mothers yielding 4000 to 6000 kg per lactation. Positive interrelation of milk yield per lactation with the parent index of cows (0.251) and the milk yield for 305 days of the highest lactation of mother cows (0.251) and mothers of father cows (0.254). An increase in milk performance in mothers of father cows for 305 days of the highest lactation contributes to an increase in milk yield for the highest lactation of daughter cows. At that, daughter cows yield 291 to 895 kg more milk per cow than their mothers for the highest lactation, depending on the milk performance class of mothers of father cows.

Background:Iguratimod (IGU) has demonstrated efficacy and safety for active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients in double-blind clinical trials in China and Japan as a new disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD). There are no studies evaluating the radiographic progression of structural joint damage of IGU for the treatment of RA using the mTSS as the primary endpoint.Objectives:Our study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of IGU monotherapy and IGU combined methotrexate (MTX) compared with MTX monotherapy, including the inhibitory effects of joint destruction.Methods:This randomized, double-blind, parallel-controlled, multicenter study in patients with active RA who have not previously used MTX and biological DMARDs (bDMARDs) (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier NCT01548001) was carried out in China. Patients were randomized 1:1:1 to receive IGU 25 mg twice a day (bid), MTX 10mg once a week(qw) for the first 4 weeks and 15 mg once a week(qw) for week 5 to 52, or IGU combined MTX (IGU+MTX) for 52 weeks. The primary endpoints were to assess and compare American College of Rheumatology 20% (ACR20) response and the change of modified total Sharp scoring (mTSS) score over 52 weeks (Intention-to-treat, ITT analysis). The non-inferiority test was used to analyze the difference of ACR20 response at 52 weeks between the IGU monotherapy and the MTX monotherapy arms, and the non-inferiority limit value was 10%. The difference test was used for the comparison between the IGU+MTX and MTX monotherapy arms. Two-way ANOVA was used to analyze the difference of the changes of mTSS score of each arm compared with baseline value (0 week).Results:A total of 895 patients were randomized to IGU 25mg bid (n =297), MTX 10-15mg qw(n=293), and IGU+MTX (n=305). More concretely, IGU monotherapy and IGU+MTX were found to be superior to MTX at week 52 with a higher ACR20 response of 77.44%(230/297, P=0.0019) and 77.05%(235/305, P=0.0028) versus 65.87%(193/293) (fig 1). As shown in fig 1, the structural remission (ΔmTSS≤0.5) was statistically significant for IGU monotherapy (57.4%, P=0.0308) but not for IGU+MTX arm (55%) versus MTX monotherapy (47.8%).Overall incidence of the adverse events (AEs) leading to study discontinuation were reported in 13.8% (41/297) in IGU monotherapy arm, 11.26% (33/293) in MTX monotherapy arm and 11.51% (35/305) patients in IGU+MTX arm. The incidence of adverse drug reactions (ADR) leading to study discontinuation were 11.45% (34/297), 8.53% (25/293) and 9.21% (28/305), respectively. There was no one death and no significant difference in all the safety indicators among the three arms.Conclusion:Iguratimod alone or in combination with MTX demonstrated superior efficacy with acceptable safety compared to MTX for patients with active RA who have not previously used MTX bDMARDs.Disclosure of Interests:None declared

BackgroundLower back pain (LBP) and osteoarthritis (OA) are the most frequent musculoskeletal disorders in the general population significantly impacting patients’ quality of life. An adequate pain management is key. General practitioners (GPs) are the front-line decision-makers in the French primary care system. In France, paracetamol remains a first-line analgesic in LBP and OA, according to the national guidelines. Few data on the real-world paracetamol prescriptions in LBP and OA are available.ObjectivesThis observational retrospective cohort study aimed to identify the paracetamol prescription patterns in LBP- and OA-related pain in real-world GP practice.MethodsPrescription data from IQVIA’s French EMR database with a representative panel of approximately 1,200 GPs. Data collection was systematic, non-interventional, reflecting the daily clinical practice. Patients aged more than 18 years old presenting with LBP- and OA- related pain and receiving a paracetamol prescription during a GP consultation over a 10-month period were included in the analyses.ResultsA total of 18,677 LBP and 8,882 OA patients were included. In more than 90% of these patients, the paracetamol prescriptions were not preceded by any other analgesic for the same diagnosis within the previous month. Paracetamol was mainly prescribed alone (57% LBP, 78% OA). The most frequent associations were NSAIDs and grade II analgesics. Treatment discontinuation at Month 1 was the most frequent event (67% LBP and 52% OA). In case of treatment restart, paracetamol was prescribed again in 57% LBP and 81% OA patients. At Month 3, 78% LBP and 71% OA patients discontinued treatment.ConclusionParacetamol remains a pivotal analgesic and is prescribed first line in the majority of the patients in both indications. `German Red' is a thermotolerant cultivar of carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus) that blooms almost year-round in Texas. This study was initiated to evaluate the feasibility of inducing somatic embryos for use in gene transfer Studies and rapid mass propagation. Internodal explants, obtained from microshoots of plantlets cultured on MS medium containing 5 μM benzyladenine (BA) and 0.5 μM naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), were used to initiate callus. Callus formation was induced on MS medium containing 3% sucrose, 0.1% casein hydrolysate and 2,4-D (1-5 μM) alone or in combination with BA (2 or 4 μM) or kinetin (2 or 4 μM). After about 5 weeks, the callus was transferred to either semisolid or liquid MS basal medium with or without kinetin and BA. Within 20-30 days, pro-embryogenic callus masses were observed. The embryos developed from white embryonic tissue and exhibited typical stages of embryogenesis. After 5 weeks, up to 70% of the cultures grown in the liquid medium with or without BA exhibited a profusion of embryo-like structures. Because only a small percentage of these developed into plantlets, more work is needed to enhance conversion frequency.

MoS2 nanoclusters/graphene composite (MoS2/GNs) was prepared by one-step hydrothermal strategy in which MoS2 nanoclusters were enwrapped by graphene nanosheets. MoS2/GNs electrode delivered discharge/charge capacities of 890 and 885 mA · h/g at 0.2 °C (200 mA g–1) after 300 cycles, as rechargeable Li ion batteries (LIBs) anode material, corresponding to a reversible charge capacity retention of up to 73.0%. When the current was adjusted to 5 C (5000 mA g–1), the material could still deliver discharge/charge capacities of 612 and 591 mA · h/g. The synergistic effects between MoS2 and graphene contributed to excellent electrochemical performance, which efficiently improved its electrical conductivity, and concurrently inhibited volume change of the MoS2 in the electrode.

Roselite from the Aghbar Mine, Morocco, [Ca2(Co2+,Mg)(AsO4)2 2H2O], was investigated by X-ray Photoelectron and Raman spectroscopy. X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy revealed a cobalt to magnesium ratio of 3:1. Magnesium, cobalt and calcium showed single bands associated with unique crystallographic positions. The oxygen 1s spectrum displayed two bands associated with the arsenate group and crystal water. Arsenic 3d exhibited bands with a ratio close to that of the cobalt to magnesium ratio, indicative of the local arsenic environment being sensitive to the substitution of magnesium for cobalt. The Raman arsenate symmetric and antisymmetric modes were all split with the antisymmetric modes observed around 865 and 818 cm−1, while the symmetric modes were found around 980 and 709 cm−1. An overlapping water-libration mode was observed at 709 cm−1. The region at 400–500 cm−1 showed splitting of the arsenate antisymmetric mode with bands at 499, 475, 450 and 425 cm−1. The 300–400 cm−1 region showed the corresponding symmetric bending modes at 377, 353, 336 and 304 cm−1. The bands below 300 cm−1 were assigned to lattice modes.

The title co-crystal, C8H3Br2NO2·0.5C14H10, was self-assembled from a 2:1 mixture of the components in slowly evaporating dichloromethane. The molecules adopt a sheet structure parallel to (1-12) in which carboxy hydrogen-bonded dimers and anthracene molecules stagger in both dimensions. Within the sheets, six individual cyano acid molecules surround each anthracene molecule. Cyano acid molecules form one of the two possibleR22(10) rings between neighboring cyano and bromo groups. Compared to the dichloro analog [Britton (2012).J. Chem. Crystallogr.42, 851–855], the dihedral angle between the best-fit planes of acid and anthracene molecules has decreased from 7.1 to 0.9 (2)°.

Four adducts of triphenylphosphine oxide with aromatic carboxylic acids have been synthesized and tested for second-order non-linear optical properties. These were with N-methylpyrrole-2-carboxylic acid (1), indole-2-carboxylic acid (2), 3-dimethylaminobenzoic acid (3), and thiophen-2-carboxylic acid (4). Compound (1) produced clear, colourless crystals (space group P 212121 with a 9·892(1), b 14·033(1), c 15·305(1) Å, Z 4) which allowed the structure to be determined by X-ray diffraction.

Stock size and status of red mullet Mullus barbatus were assessed via virtual population analysis and yield prediction analysis using on-board observed length-frequency catch data from the north-eastern Mediterranean Sea. The von Bertalanffy growth parameters obtained were L∞ = 35.4 cm, k = 0.42, t0 = 0.64, tanc = 0.59 and Φ′ = 2.72. Trawl-type selectivity ogive was calculated as 1.57 years corresponding to 17.1 cm TL. The virtual population analysis of M. barbatus indicated that the minimum and maximum fishing mortalities were 0.01 yr–1 and 11.1 yr–1 for the mid-length groups for 8.5 cm and 21.5 cm respectively. The estimated lowest mean biomass and yield were 3.541 t and 31 t at length 8.5, and the highest mean biomass and yield were 13.880 t at length 22.5 cm and 46.086 t at length 21.5 cm respectively. Biological reference points were FMSY = 5.85, F0.5 = 2.3, EMSY = 0.89, E0.5 = 0.77. The values for the current fishing mortality coefficient (Fcur) and the current exploitation rate (Ecur) calculated were 5.3 and 0.89 respectively. The present biological reference points indicate that the stock of M. barbatus in the investigated area is overexploited status and needs urgent management considerations.

Abstract Background Body-fluid loss during prolonged continuous exercise can impair cardiovascular function, harming performance. Delta percent plasma volume (dPV) represents the change in central and circulatory body-water volume and therefore hydration during exercise; however, the effect of carbohydrate–electrolyte drinks and water on the dPV response is unclear. Objective To determine by meta-analysis the effects of ingested hypertonic (> 300 mOsmol kg−1), isotonic (275–300 mOsmol kg−1) and hypotonic (< 275 mOsmol kg−1) drinks containing carbohydrate and electrolyte ([Na+] < 50 mmol L−1), and non-carbohydrate drinks/water (< 40 mOsmol kg−1) on dPV during continuous exercise. Methods A systematic review produced 28 qualifying studies and 68 drink treatment effects. Random-effects meta-analyses with repeated measures provided estimates of effects and probability of superiority (p+) during 0–180 min of exercise, adjusted for drink osmolality, ingestion rate, metabolic rate and a weakly informative Bayesian prior. Results Mean drink effects on dPV were: hypertonic − 7.4% [90% compatibility limits (CL) − 8.5, − 6.3], isotonic − 8.7% (90% CL − 10.1, − 7.4), hypotonic − 6.3% (90% CL − 7.4, − 5.3) and water − 7.5% (90% CL − 8.5, − 6.4). Posterior contrast estimates relative to the smallest important effect (dPV = 0.75%) were: hypertonic-isotonic 1.2% (90% CL − 0.1, 2.6; p+ = 0.74), hypotonic-isotonic 2.3% (90% CL 1.1, 3.5; p+ = 0.984), water-isotonic 1.3% (90% CL 0.0, 2.5; p+ = 0.76), hypotonic-hypertonic 1.1% (90% CL 0.1, 2.1; p+ = 0.71), hypertonic-water 0.1% (90% CL − 0.8, 1.0; p+ = 0.12) and hypotonic-water 1.1% (90% CL 0.1, 2.0; p+ = 0.72). Thus, hypotonic drinks were very likely superior to isotonic and likely superior to hypertonic and water. Metabolic rate, ingestion rate, carbohydrate characteristics and electrolyte concentration were generally substantial modifiers of dPV. Conclusion Hypotonic carbohydrate–electrolyte drinks ingested continuously during exercise provide the greatest benefit to hydration. Graphical abstract

2-Methoxy-3,5-dinitropyridine, C6N3O5H5, crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/n, with cell parameters a = 7.496(5), b = 18.38(1), c = 6.068(2) Å, β = 77.18(4)°, V = 815(1) Å3, and four molecules per unit cell. Its structure was solved by direct methods and refined by least-squares procedures to a final R = 4.99%, Rw = 5.42%, for 753 observed independent reflections. The molecule is not planar, a rotation of the methoxy and 3-nitro groups out of the pyridine ring (7° and 16°, respectively) is observed. The methoxy group is located syn to the ring nitrogen atom to avoid repulsion with the 3-NO2 group and adopts a geometry different from the mean reported in the literature for methoxyaromatic groups. Geometrical parameters suggested by Domenicano and Murray-Rust and Norrestam and Schepper are used to analyze substituent effects on the pyridine shape and the possible causes of non-additivity of substituent effects are discussed. In this study, ten pure maize strains were introduced in the hybridization program according to the factorial design mating system proposed by Comstock and Robinson (1948 and 1952) and were divided into two groups: a local adapted inbred lines and strain 839 and cv 890 used as parents, (ZM51L, ZP-301, OH, IK-58, IK-8, SH, R-153) were used as females, The seeds of the ten parents and twenty-one hybrids were swon in the field of a farmer in the Zlaya area (south of Tikrit) using a random complete block design with three replicates ( RCBD ). The hybrid vigor was studied in methods (on the basis of the first generation deviation of the average and the best parents) The number of rows in per ear, the number of grains in the row, the number of grains in per ear, the weight of 300 weight and the single plant yield. The results showed significant differences between genotypes (parents and first-generation genotypes) of all characters except the number of ears in the plant at a probability level of 1%. the hybris superior (IK-58 x local strain), (ZP-301 x 839)(IK-58 x 839), (ZM51L x C.V890) and (OH x CV 890) were based on the deviation of the average first generation from the average parents And the best parents of all characters studied.

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh rasio pati terhadap kitosan (dalam basis berat) dan konsentrasi microfibrillated cellulose sebagai filler dalam pembuatan bioplastik menggunakan pati sorgum, kitosan dan gliserol. Dalam penelitian ini, rasio pati terhadap kitosan yang divariasikan adalah 10:0, 9,5:0,5, 8,5:1,5, 7,5:2,5, 6,5:3,5, 5,5:4,5 (gr/gr). Microfibrillated cellulose sebagai filler disintesis dari batang sorgum dengan metode semimekanis. Perlakuan kimia diawali dengan delignifikasi batang sorgum dengan KOH 4% pada temperatur 80oC selama 1 jam untuk menghilangkan lignin. Setelah itu dicuci dan dipucatkan (bleaching) sebanyak dua kali menggunakan H2O2 6% pada suhu 70oC. Serbuk batang sorgum yang sudah kering dilanjutkan dengan perlakuan mekanis yaitu dimasukkan ke dalam disk mill selama 90 menit dan dilanjutkan dengan high energy milling (HEM) untuk mengecilkan ukurannya sampai dengan rata-rata 4-8 µm. Filler ditambahkan, dan konsentrasinya (dalam basis berat) divariasikan dari 0, 1, 2, dan 3 %. Pati dan kitosan berukuran 63 mikron (lolos ayakan), waktu pengadukan selama 35 menit pada kecepatan 375 rpm, dan penambahan 10% berat gliserol sebagai plasticizer dijaga konstan. Hasil terbaik pada penelitian ini diperoleh pada formulasi 8,5:1,5 (gr/gr). dan konsentrasi filler 3%. This study discusses the effect of starch on chitosan ratio (in weight basis) and also the concentration of microfibrillated cellulose as a filler in the preparation of bioplastics using sorghum starch, chitosan, and glycerol. In this study, the ratio of starch to chitosan varied was 10:0, 9.5:0.5, 8.5:1.5, 7.5:2.5, 6.5:3.5, 5.5:4,5 (gr/gr). Microfibrillated cellulose as filler was encouraged from the sorghum stem by the semi-mechanical method. The delignification of sorghum stem initiated chemical treatment with a 4% KOH solution on 80oC for 1 hour to remove lignin. Bleaching is done after delignification using 6% H2O2 at 70oC. The dried sorghum powder is further followed by mechanical treatment that is put into disk mill for 90 minutes and continued with high energy milling (HEM) to reduce its size to an average of 4-8 µm. The filler is added, and the concentration (on a weight basis) varies from 0, 1, 2, and 3%. Starch and chitosan measuring 63 microns (sieve pass), stirring time for 35 minutes at a speed of 375 rpm, and the addition of 10% by weight of glycerol as a plasticizer is kept constant. The best results in this study were obtained in formulations 8.5:1.5 (gr/gr) and 3% filler concentration. This bioplastic product has 11.64 MPa tensile strength, 10.98% elongation, 105.96 MPa Young moduli, 0.915 gr/ml density, and 38.3% water uptake. Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar o crescimento e a capacidade fotossintética da cultivar de amendoim BR 1, submetida a salinidade. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com quatro níveis de salinidade da solução, expressos em condutividade elétrica (1,0; 3,5; 6,0 e 8,5 dS m-1) e seis repetições. A cultivar BR 1 apresentou, quando cultivada sob estresse salino, mecanismos fisiológicos capazes de assegurar seu crescimento. O crescimento do sistema radicular e a estabilidade dos pigmentos fotossintéticos foram as variáveis maìs relacionadas com a tolerância à salinidade. Contudo, a cultivar BR 1 é sensível à salinidade quando a condutividade elétrica é de 8,5 dS m-1, afetando a condutância estomática e a assimilação fotossintética de CO2. A BR 1 apresenta resistência a ambientes salinos.

Der vorliegende Artikel stellt dieses Dokument in vier Schritten vor. Die geistlichen und theologischen Horizonte im Dokument schaffen einen Dialog, der Theolog-inn-en und Glaubenden, allen Männern und Frauen in der heutigen Gesellschaft zu exegetischen Einsichten verhilft. Die Struktur des Dokuments selbst erweist sich als wesentlich, denn sie offenbart die Wahrheit der »Anfänge«: das grundlegende Narrativ von Gen 1-2 im Lichte der späteren Bibeltradition und der Erfahrungen der menschlichen Geschichte. Five adducts consisting of carboxylic acid-substituted indoles with nitro-substituted benzoic acids have been synthesized and tested for second-order non-linear optical properties. These were indole-2-carboxylic acid with 2,4-dinitrobenzoic acid (1), 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid (2), and 2,4,6-trinitrobenzoic acid (3), and indole-3-acetic acid with 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid (4), and 2,4,6-trinitrobenzoic acid (5). Compound (2) produced clear, yellow crystals (space group P -1 with a 6·8400(7), b 15·150(2), c 16·097(2) Å, α 84·911(9), β 87·088(10), γ 77·865(9)°, Z 4) which allowed the structure to be determined by X-ray diffraction. Of the five adducts, compounds (3) and (5) gave second harmonic intensities of 0·15 and 0·16 times respectively that of a urea standard.

Nitrogen (N) at 100, 200, 300, and 400 kg ha-1 was applied to Tanzania grass swards to evaluate the animal response and relationships between sward characteristics and the performance of young Nellore bulls (Bos indicus) under continuous stocking. A completely randomized experimental design was used with two replications between 11 November 2001 and 15 April 2002 when the sward heights were maintained at 60 cm by using different stocking rates. The average daily gain (ADG) (0.73 kg d-1) was not affected by N doses while the number of animal days ha-1 increased linearly from 515 to 1267. On the other hand, the linear increase in the animal yield was 399, 653, 755, and 895 kg ha-1 for N at 100, 200, 300, and 400 kg ha-1, respectively, while the ratio between the liveweight gain (kg) and N (kg ha-1) decreased. Correlation coefficients between ADG and herbage mass, green leaf mass, green herbage mass, proportion of green leaf and leaf:culm ratio were low and nonsignificant. Under the conditions in Northwestern Paraná, the application of N to swards of Tanzania grass is a management option for increasing beef cattle production.

Abstract INTRODUCTION Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is known to have numerous genomic aberrations that predict response to treatment and overall survival. We aimed to assess various mutations in newly diagnosed MDS cases by next generation sequencing (NGS) and their association with various well-established clinicopathologic parameters and the Revised International Prognostic Scoring System (IPSS-R). MATERIALS AND METHODS We performed molecular studies on DNA extracted from bone marrow aspirate specimens in 200 newly diagnosed treatment naïve MDS patients presenting at a single institution from 08/2013 to 03/2015 as part of routine clinical work up in a CLIA certified molecular diagnostics laboratory. Cases met criteria for MDS per WHO 2008 criteria. The entire coding sequences of 28 genes (ABL1, ASXL1, BRAF, DNMT3A, EGFR, EZH2, FLT3, GATA1, GATA2, HRAS, IDH1, IDH2, IKZF2, JAK2, KIT, KRAS, MDM2, MLL, MPL, MYD88, NOTCH1, NPM1, NRAS, PTPN11, RUNX1, TET2, TP53, WT1) were sequenced using a NGS-based custom-designed assay using TruSeq chemistry on Illumina MiSeq platform. FLT3 internal tandem duplications (ITD) and codon 835/836 point mutation were detected by PCR followed by capillary electrophoresis. CEBPA mutation analysis was performed by PCR followed by Sanger sequencing on 186 patients. RESULTS Median age was 67 years. Patients included 139 males (69.5%) and 61 females (30.5%). Hematologic parameters are as follows [median (range)]: Hb 9.6 g/dL (5-16.7), platelets 75 K/μ L (5-652), WBC: 2.8 K/μ L (0.4-20.8), ANC 1.3 K/μ L (0.0 -12.0), AMC 0.2 K/μ L (0.0-3). Bone marrow (BM) blasts [median (range)] were 4% (0-19). Of 192 patients with cytogenetic analysis performed, 65 (33.85%) had diploid karyotype, 53 (27.6%) had one, 21 (10.93%) had two, 13 (6.77%) had three, 40 (20.83%) had > three abnormalities. IPSS-R risk categorization of the 200 cases is as follows: very low (17 cases, 8.5%), low (46, 23%) intermediate (42, 21%), high (47, 23.5%), very high (48, 24%). Mutations identified by NGS are as detailed in Table 1. Of the 4 patients with FLT mutations detected, the breakdown is as follows: FLT3 ITD (3, 75%), FLT3 D835 (1, 25%), FLT3, ITD + D835 (0, 0%). CEBPA mutation was detected in 12 of 186 (6.45%) cases assessed. CEBPA was detected in 12 (6.45%). Sixty three (31.5%) cases had no mutations detected in the genes analyzed by NGS or PCR, 80 (40%) had mutations in one, 42 (21%) had mutations in two, 8 (4%) in three and 7 (3.5%) in > three genes. We found positive associations between mutated genes and various parameters as detailed in Table 2. No association was found between frequency of any particular mutation and the IPSS-R score. CONCLUSIONS: MDS is a heterogeneous group of myeloid neoplasms at the genetic level. Multiple genetic mutations in a large subset of cases likely indicate clonal evolution. A subset of mutations has significant association with well-established clinico-pathologic parameters like WBC and BM blast percentage. With longer follow-up, we could use this data to refine IPSS-R. ABSTRACT Deoxynivalenol (DON) is one of the major toxic secondary metabolites produced by Fusarium fungi in cereal grains. Among the many promising strategies of DON detoxification are the microbial and enzymatic ones, which transform DON to nontoxic DON metabolites. Thus, proper analytical methods are needed for those DON metabolites. In this study, a robust gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) procedure was developed and validated for the simultaneous analysis of DON and two of its bacterial metabolites, 3-keto-DON and 3-epi-DON. The procedure involves a straightforward vacuum drying and derivatization step before the subsequent GC-MS analysis. Following the optimized protocol, DON and these two metabolites were separated on a capillary column within 15 min. The linear ranges for the these compounds were 10 to 2,000 ng mL−1 with correlation coefficients &gt;0.99. For DON, 3-epi-DON, and 3-keto-DON, the limits of detection were 0.8, 3.0, and 0.05 ng mL−1, and the limits of quantification were 2.6, 10.0, and 1.0 ng mL−1, respectively. For all three compounds, the obtained relative standard deviation was 1.2 to 5.5%, and the recovery rates were 89.5 to 103.6%. The developed method was further validated by analyzing DON metabolites resulting from the biotransformation of DON initiated by cell-free lysates of the bacterium Devosia mutans 17-2-E-8. The developed protocol was sensitive, precise, accurate, and robust for the determination of DON, 3-epi-DON, and 3-keto-DON in liquid media and potentially other complex matrices without interference from other compounds.

Abstract. This paper reports the first record of extreme ozone measurements in Africa. As part of the AMMA program, the ozone vertical profile recorded on 20 December over Cotonou presents exceptionally high ozone concentrations with up to 295 ppb at 1 km altitude. Retroplumes from the Flexpart model show that the air masses sampled at 1 km over Cotonou on this day came from the burning area situated north-east of Cotonou and passed over Lagos, Nigeria, which is highly impacted by urban pollution. We used the Master Mechanism box model to simulate the chemical composition of the plume during its transit. We find that neither the biomass burning emissions of ozone precursors nor additional urban emissions from Lagos are high enough to simulate more than 120–150 ppb of ozone. The only way to reach almost 300 ppb of ozone within a few hours is to feed the air mass with large amounts of reactive VOCs as those recorded in the vicinity of petrochemical area. Sensitivity tests show that 250–600 ppb of VOCs combined with 35–80 ppb of NOx allow the ozone concentrations to be higher than 250 ppb. Nigeria is the first African country with gas extraction and petrochemical industries, and petrochemical explosions frequently happen in the vicinity of Lagos. The hypothesis of a petrochemical explosion in this area is the most likely scenario which could explain the 295 ppb ozone maximum measured over Cotonou, downwind of Lagos.

Анотація:
Silicon (Si) is a plant beneficial element associated with the mitigation of abiotic and biotic stresses. Most greenhouse-grown ornamentals are considered low Si accumulators based on foliar Si concentration. However, Si accumulates in all tissues, and there is little published data on the distribution of Si in plants. This knowledge may be critical to using Si to mitigate tissue-specific plant stresses, e.g., pathogens. Therefore, we quantified Si accumulation and distribution in petunia (Petunia ×hybrida Hort. Vilm.-Andr. ‘Dreams Pink’), a low Si accumulator, and sunflower (Helianthus annuus L. ‘Pacino Gold’), a high Si accumulator. Plants were grown in a sphagnum peat: perlite substrate amended with 0% (−Si) or 20% (+Si) parboiled rice hulls for 53 (petunia) or 72 days (sunflower). Aboveground dry weight was greater in nonamended petunia (13%) and sunflower (18%), compared with rice hull–amended plants, but days to flower was unaffected. Sunflowers grown in the rice hull–amended substrate had the greatest Si concentration in leaves (10,909 mg·kg−1), whereas roots (895 mg·kg−1), stems (303 mg·kg−1), and flowers (252 mg·kg−1) had lower, but similar Si concentrations. In petunia, Si concentration was greatest in leaves (2036 mg·kg−1), then roots (1237 mg·kg−1), followed by stems (301 mg·kg−1), and flowers (247 mg·kg−1). The addition of rice hulls to the substrate increased Si concentration in sunflower 414% in roots, 512% in flowers, 611% in stems, and 766% in leaves. By contrast, Si concentration in petunia increased only 7% in flowers, 105% in stems, and 115% in leaves, but increased 687% in roots. In rice hull–amended sunflowers, the distribution of Si was 91% in leaves, 3% in stems, 3% in roots, and 3% in flowers, and in petunia, it was 72% in leaves, 17% in stems, 6% in roots, and 5% in flowers.

Ultrafiltration has been used successfully in a variety of applications in the perioperative setting to assist in hemoconcentration and volume reduction. This study was designed to investigate the effects of aggressive conventional hemofiltration on bypass urine production, fluid balance, and renal performance in the 24 hours after bypass procedures in the adult population. A prospective, randomized study was designed to determine the effects of conventional ultrafiltration (CUF) during bypass while monitoring urine dynamics intraoperatively and in the 24-hour post-bypass period. Study group 1 (CUF, n = 49) was compared to control group 2 (non-CUF, n _ 47) by monitoring urine values, volume additions, and packed red cell (PRC) use throughout the procedure. The mean total CUF volume removed from group 1 was 5781 ± 2612. There were no differences in prebypass, total bypass, or total operating room (OR) urine between the two groups. The 24-hour urine totals were significantly higher in group 2 (2389 ± 895) than in group 1 (2035 ± 895). The ending bypass hematocrit was also lower in group 2 (26 ± 2.0) than in group 1 (30 ± 6.0). OR PRC additions were higher in group 2 (395 ± 699) than group 1 (204 ± 300). The non-CUF control group 2 experienced significantly greater ending fluid balance (3006 ± 868) compared with group 1 (744 ± 1271). No significant differences in pre- or postoperative creatinine values were observed. Aggressive CUF can be safely used during cardiopulmonary bypass in the adult population to reduce fluid accumulation and elevate bypass hematocrit without effecting bypass or intraoperative urine production.

BackgroundPatient global assessment (PATGL) is included in DAS28, CDAI, ASDAS, DAPSA, and other indices to assess rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or spondyloarthropathy (SpA). PATGL reflects inflammatory activity in many patients, but may be elevated by comorbid fibromyalgia (FM) and/or depression (Dep), which are often unrecognized in others, complicating interpretation and use in treat-to-target. A 2-page multidimensional health assessment questionnaire (MDHAQ) includes PATGL and two easily scored cumulative indices, FAST4 (0-4 FM assessment screening tool) and MDS2 (0-2 MDHAQ Dep screen), which agree more than 80% with reference 2011 revised FM criteria, HADS-D and PHQ-9,1-3 and may clarify interpretation of high PATGL and index scores, particularly in busy clinical settings.ObjectivesAnalysis of PATGL in patients with RA or SpA according to MDHAQ FAST4 and/or MDS2 positivity (+) or negativity (-).MethodsMDHAQ was completed at a routine care visit at 3 sites in Australia, Spain, and USA. Medians and interquartile ranges (IQRs) for PATGL were computed for RA and SpA, according to FAST4 + or – and/or MDS2 + or -. Differences between medians of PATGL with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for FAST4 and/or MDS2 were estimated from median regression models that included FAST4 and MDS2 for each setting, and setting for pooled analyses.ResultsAmong 393 RA and 175 SpA patients, 23.0%-32.7% were FAST4+ and 29.4%-36.7% MDS2+, with 41.1% positive for either FAST4 or MDS2 (data not shown). PATGL medians were 4.8-5.0 in all RA and 3.0-6.0 in SpA, 2.0-3.0 in FAST4-/MDS2-, 5.5-6.0 in FAST4-/MDS2+, 7.0-7.5 in FAST4+/MDS2-, and 7.0-8.0 in FAST4+/MDS2+ patients, similar in RA and SpA at 3 settings in 3 continents (Table 1). ABSTRACT The effects of citric acid-modified pH (pH 2.5, 2.75, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, and 5.5) and a 30% glucose–70% sucrose mixture (300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 875, and 900 g/liter) on an osmophilic yeast,Zygosaccharomyces rouxii, were determined by using synthetic medium. One hundred experiments were carried out; 50-ml culture flasks were inoculated with 103 CFU ml−1 by using a collection strain and a wild-type strain cocktail. The biomass was measured by counting cell colonies, and growth curves were fitted by using a Baranyi equation. The growth rate decreased linearly with sugar concentration, while the effect of pH was nonlinear. Indeed, the optimal pH range was found to be pH 3.5 to 5, and pH 2.5 resulted in a 30% reduction in the growth rate. Finally, we evaluated the performance of two nonlinear predictive models developed previously to describe bacterial contamination. Equations derived from the Rosso and Ratkowsky models gave similar results; however, the model that included dimensionless terms based on the Ratkowsky equation was preferred because it contained fewer estimated parameters and also because biological interpretation of the results was easier.

Friction stir processing (FSP) has been developed as a potential grain refinement technique. In the current study, a commercial 5083 Al alloy was friction stir processed with three combinations of FSP parameters. Fine-grained microstructures with average grain sizes of 3.5–8.5 μm were obtained. Tensile tests revealed that the maximum ductility of 590 was achieved at a strain rate of 3 × 10−3 s−1 and 530 °C in the 6.5-μm grain size FSP material, whereas for the material with 8.5-μm grain size, maximum ductility of 575 was achieved at a strain rate of 3 × 10−4 s−1 and490 °C. The deformation mechanisms for both the materials were grain boundary sliding (m ∼0.5) However, the 3.5-μm grain size material showed maximum ductility of 315 at 10−2 s−1 and 430 °C. The flow mechanism was solute-drag dislocation glide (m ∼0.33) This study indicated that establishing a processing window is crucial for obtaining optimized microstructure for optimum superplasticity.

Results of the studies into the features of the geochemistry of radon waters from the Zaeltovsky-Mochishche zone of Novosibirsk city are reported. Radon waters are fracture, cold with the temperature of 6-10 оC, they occur at a depth of 50-200 m. In the hydrogeological section, neutral and weakly alkaline waters are developed, with рН from 6,9 to 7,8, mainly with the calcium hydrocarbonate and calcium-sodium hydrocarbonate composition, with total mineralization from 322 to 895 mg/dm3. The concentrations of 222Rn in water-saturated zones of granites vary from 308 to 1521 Bq/dm3, while in the wells drilled into hornstones radon content varies within the range 37-241 Bq/dm3. The concentrations of 238U and 226Ra do not exceed 0.098 mg/dm3 and 3.5∙10-7 mg/dm3, respectively.

Purpose. To study the effectiveness of vascular, anti-inflammatory and fibrinolytic therapy, to conduct a comparative assessment with treatment without vascular therapy in patients with angle-closure (ACG) and mixed glaucoma.Methods. A total of 55 patients with angle-closure and mixed glaucoma, mainly with hypermetropic refraction of varying degrees, were examined: 7 people with acute glaucoma attack, 6 people with subacute glaucoma attack (group 1, with anti-inflammatory treatment), 7 people with acute glaucoma attack and 6 people with subacute glaucoma attack (group 2, with vascular treatment), 14 people with chronic angle-closure glaucoma (group 3) and 15 people with mixed glaucoma (group 4). All patients underwent an ophthalmological examination, which included visometry, refractometry, tonometry, computer perimetry, OCT and OCT angiography, and an ELISA analysis to determine cytokines.Results. The administration of the drug Pentoxifylline as a cytokine blocker and antiplatelet agent in ACG contributed, in our opinion, to an improvement in visual acuity, perimetry (MD), an increase in the density of capillaries of the deep vascular plexus at the level of lamina cribrosa in the peripapillary zone (%), i.e. improved blood circulation in the vessels of the optic nerve disc and also contributed to the blockade of cytokines, mainly in the 2-nd group of patients. In our opinion, a personalized approach to the treatment of ACG is to maintain the improvement of blood circulation in the peripapillary zone by prescribing a course of treatment with Pentoxifylline for 6 months after surgery. After phacoemulsification, there was a significant increase in the density of capillaries of the deep peripapillary vascular plexus at the level of lamina cribrosa (p ≤ 0.05) (51.0 ± 3.5 %), and after further treatment with Pentoxifylline, the capillary density continued to increase in 2–4 groups in the next 6 months of follow-up. The thickness of RNFL (Retinal nerve fiber layer, structural parameter) decreased due to a decrease in edema in 1–2 groups, slightly increased in 3–4 groups, in our opinion, due to improved blood circulation. Increased reperfusion in the capillaries of the deep plexus during normalization of IOP in glaucoma patients and further treatment with pentoxifylline indicates the effectiveness of the proposed treatment in addition to surgical treatment. The results obtained emphasize the advantages of the proposed therapy for the treatment of patients with angle-closure and mixed glaucoma.Conclusion. To date, there are no clear recommendations of vascular therapy for the treatment of patients with ACG and mixed glaucoma, which creates the need for its addition to treatment regimens, taking into account the vascular component of ACG and mixed glaucoma.

The growth of three english ivy cultivars in ebb-and-flow subirrigation systems was examined under three photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) treatments (low, medium, or high, corresponding to an average daily PPF of 3.2, 5.4, or 8.5 mol·m–2·d–1, respectively) and four fertilizer concentrations (0, 100, 200, or 300 mg·L–1 N) geared toward production of acclimatized foliage plants. Marketable quality english ivy can be subirrigated with 100 mg·L–1 N. Although 8.5 mol.m–2.d–1 produced the maximum shoot dry weight (SDW), good quality plants also were produced under 5.4 mol·m–2·d–1. `Gold Child', `Gold Dust', and `Gold Heart' english ivy produced with low fertility and low light may be better acclimatized and show superior performance in interior environments. Under light levels lower than 8.5 mol·m–2·d–1, `Gold Heart' had less variegation (12% or 21% for ivy grown under 3.2 or 5.4 mol·m–2·d–1, respectively). `Gold Dust' and `Gold Child' had 65% and 22% variegated leaf area, respectively, when grown under 5.4 mol·m–2·d–1 PPF. Under 5.4 mol·m–2·d–1 PPF, `Gold Dust' retains attractive foliage with overall perception of increased lighter-green coloration.

The Mössbauer spectra of PdMnxFe1-x alloys obtained at 80 K and at 300 K were studied in the 0.2 < x < 0.8 concentration range, in which there realizes a microinhomogeneous multiphase medium formed by isostructure phases of the constituent compositions: ferromagnetic PdFe (ТС=730 К) alloy undergoing atomic ordering and antiferromagnetic PdMn (TN=815 К) intermetallic compound. Magnetic properties studies evidence the presence of a third presumably noncollinear phase with its own ordering temperature lying below the Curie temperature of the ferromagnetic phase in the 0.2 < x < 0.8 concentration range. The Mössbauer spectra at 300 K exhibit a doublet for antiferromagnetic alloys (x > 0.8) and a sextet at Hhf ~350 kOe for ferromagnetic alloys (x < 0.2). In the intermediate concentration range several peaks 0 < Hhf < 350 kOe have been observed in the P(Hhf) curves, which result from microinhomogeneous multiphase state.

Quatro diferentes modelos de aspersores, representando diferentes combinações de diâmetro de bocal e ângulo de jato, foram usados: 1 - Agropolo NY-7 (4,6 mm x 4 mm e 7º); 2 - Agropolo NY-12 (3,5 mm e 12º); 3 - Naan (3,0 mm e 12º); e 4 - Agropolo NY-25 (2,8 mm x 2,5 mm e 25º). Testes de campo mostraram que as perdas observadas em ensaios com um único aspersor (valores médios de 8,5, 36,5, 40,3 e 39,8% para, respectivamente, aspersor 1, 2, 3 e 4) foram maiores do que as perdas observadas em ensaios com laterais de aspersores (valores médios de 4,7, 13,6, 20,2 e 18,9% para, respectivamente, aspersor 1, 2, 3 e 4), e que o diâmetro do bocal exerce grande influência no valor de perdas de água por evaporação e arraste. The most common operation for knee osteoarthritis (OA) is total knee arthroplasty (TKA); however, the latter is associated with the development of severe complications. This was the reason for the revival of the interest of orthopedic traumatologists in high tibial osteotomy (HTO), the essence of which is to transfer the load away from the affected medial part of the knee joint (KJ) to the intact lateral one.Objective: to evaluate the medium- and long-term results of open-wedge (OW) HTO in primary and secondary I–III stage knee OA.Patients and methods. The Laboratory of Orthopedic Rheumatology and Rehabilitation, V.A. Nasonova Research Institute of Rheumatology, performed 10 OW HTOs in 9 patients in 2005 to 2009 and 21 more OW HTOs in 19 patients in 2014 to 2018 (a total of 31 operations). The male/female ratio was 2.5:1. The mean age of the patients was 57.6±12.5 years; the body mass index (BMI) was 28.5±3.6 kg/m2 ; the correction angle was 11.7±2.5°. Preoperative planning was performed using the Miniaci method; the X-ray stage of knee OA was evaluated according to the Kellgren–Lawrence classification. OW HTO was carried out. For assessment of its results, the investigators determined the degree of pain using a visual analogue scale (VAS) and the KJ status by the Knee Society Score (KSS) scale. The results were assessed at one (n=31), 3.5±0.6 (n=28), and 8.5±1.3 (n=10) years.Results and discussion. There was a tendency to worsen surgical results over time. The mean VAS values for pain at 1, 3.5, and 8.5 years were as follows: 9.8±10.3; 21.2±16.2 and 38±15.5 mm, respectively. In the same periods, the KSS functional scores were 83.6±14.8, 85.2±12.6, and 80.5±14.2; the objective scores were 80.7±8.5, 75.2±12.7, and 67.8±16.3. There was a strong correlation between the severity of pain and the functional and objective KSS scores (-0.78, -0.81 years, and -0.91 at 1, 3.5, and 8.5 years, respectively; p<0.05). At 3.5±0.6 years, the survival rate after OW HTO was 96.6%. None of the patients examined at 8.5±1.3 years after OW HTO needed TKA. The surgical result was studied in 2 patients at 14 years; one patient underwent TKA, the other refused surgical intervention, the result was satisfactory.Conclusion. OW HTO has limited indications for use. However, in patients who are allowed to undergo this operation, pain syndrome can be relieved, by maintaining and/or improving KJ function; in most cases, TKA can be delayed for more than 10 years.

Feasible protocols for organic hydroponic production of strawberry are necessary and this study compares the yield and fruit quality of organic and conventional inorganic hydroponic production. Some issues identified with organic hydroponic strawberry production are: 1) dominant ammonium nitrogen form; 2) solution alkalinity; and 3) dissolved oxygen level of nutrient solution. Eighty bare-rooted `Diamante' plantlets were planted in coconut fiber pots with a mixture of coconut coir (30%) and perlite (70%) and grown in a modified nutrient film technique system inside a polycarbonate greenhouse. The organic nutrient solution contains mostly ammonium nitrogen and little nitrate nitrogen. To enhance colonization and activities of nitrifying bacteria, coconut fiber mats were placed in the organic nutrient solution reservoir. A similar system was also introduced for stock solution pre-conditioning where nitrification and pH stabilization were achieved before application to the strawberry plantlets. The organic nutrient solution prior to pre-conditioning had only 1.53 mg·L-1 nitrate nitrogen, although the nitrate nitrogen level increased to 63.2 mg·L-1 after pre-conditioning. The organic nutrient solution pH was 4.5 initially, 8.5 after 24 hours of pre-conditioning, and finally, shifted to and stabilized at 5.7–5.9 after 3 days. Dissolved oxygen level is critical for both nitrifying bacteria activities and plantlet root growth; therefore, oxygen enrichment was achieved by constantly aerating the nutrient solution in the reservoir, which raised the oxygen level from 2.5 to 7.4 mg·L-1. Comparisons of yield and quality of strawberry fruits between organic and inorganic nutrient solutions will be presented and further improvements of hydroponic systems will be discussed.

Abstract A pilot project research has been conducted to eliminate odor pollution from the feed mill industry. The feed industry in Indonesia has grown, especially in poultry feed production produced in modern feed mills equipped with pelleting technology. This industry is also having an environmental impact in the form of air pollution of its production activities. The laboratory analysis showed that ammonia has emitted, and it was the dominant parameter as the cause of odor in air pollution. This research aims to remove ammonia emissions using dry filtration technology with activated carbon as the filter media in the upright reactor. The reactor is designed from stainless steel material, consisting of 3 trays. The distance between trays is 300 mm, the dimensions of the tray are L.2430 mm, W.1815 mm, H.600 mm, the tray hole diameter is 3 mm. The average gas flow rate is 200-300 Nm3/min. Activated carbon used granules, size 6-8 mm, 200 mm thick in the tray. The results showed that the efficiency of ammonia removal was 81.96%-94.40% and had met the quality standards. This technology is feasible to control ammonia as an odor pollutant in the feed mill industry.

e12586 Background: Breast cancer (BC) is the most common malignancy among the women in Armenia (AM). Currently there is a knowledge gap regarding the morphology distribution of the BC in AM. Methods: The data on patients with BC diagnosed in 2015-2016 in the pathology lab “Davidyants Labs” in AM were retrospectively reviewed. Pts with Her2+ results by IHC were excluded from the study, due to unavailability to perform FISH or CISH analyses. Overall 361 pathology reports were evaluated. Results: The median age was 54 years; range [19-82]. Histopathological subtypes were defined for 305 pts, from which lobular carcinoma 57.4% of cases (175/305), ductal carcinoma 26.9% (82/305), mucinous carcinoma 2.6% (8/305), mixed type carcinoma (lobular and ductal) 2.6% (8/305), DCIS 2% (n = 6/305), non specified carcinoma 2% (6/305), medullary carcinoma 1% (n = 3/305) and others 5.6% (17/305). Within the cohort 8.5% (23/270) were grade 1, 65.9% grade 2 (178/270); 25.6% grade 3 (n = 69/270). Vascular or lymphatic invasion was present in 59.5% (50/84) and 64.7% (55/85), respectively. Staging distribution, based on pT pN data for 92 pts who went to primary surgery, was: 0 stage 7.6% (7/92), I stage 22.8% (21/92), II stage 41.3% (38/92), III stage 28.3% (26/92). Staging distribution based on ypT ypN data for 27 pts who went to surgery after neoadjuvant chemo was 0 stage 25.9% (7/27), I stage 18.5% (5/27), II stage 29.6% (8/27), III stage 25.9% (7/27). ER and PR were defined for 244 patients. ER positive 89.8% (219/244) of cases, PR pos. 73% (178/244), ER/PR pos. 72.5% (177/244) cases. Her receptor was defined for 237 patients. Her3+ 16.9% (40/237); Her2+ 12.7% (30/237); Her1+ 38% (90/237); Her0 32.5% (n = 77/237). We could not evaluate Her2+ status by FISH or CISH, so these results were excluded from the analysis. Ki67 was low (≤20) in 42.1% (101/240) of cases and high ( > 20) in 57.9% (139/240). Within the group Luminal A type was 41.4% (84/203); Luminal B 32.5% (66/203); Her positive 19.7% (40/203) and triple negative 6.4% (13/203). p53 and perineural invasion (Pn) was present in 32% (16/50) and 52% (26/50), respectively. Tumor leukocyte infiltration was determined for 16 patients. Leukocyte infiltration was positive in 43.7% (7/16) cases, negative in 25% (4/16) cases, minimal in 31.3% cases (5/16). Conclusions: BC in Armenian women presents with different epidemiological characteristics in comparison with other ethnicities. Lobular type BC is the most frequent type among Armenian women, however, differential diagnosis between lobular/ductal carcinomas was done without IHC (E-Cadherin), which rises the need for further studies on that regard.

Abstract Spirulina water extract (SWE) has a good potency as an immunostimulant. Lactobacillus bulgaricus & Streptococcus thermophilus are lactic acid bacteria (LAB) that produce exopolysaccharide exudate. Vibriosis is a common infectious disease for aquatic cultivans caused by Vibrio spp. This study determines the ability of SWE in combination with L. bulgaricus & S. thermophilus as immunostimulant (Artemia challenge test) assay against Vibrio parahaemolyticus, V. vulnificus, and V. harveyi. Factorial Design with two factors namely SWE doses (0, 300, 600, and 900 ppb) and Vibrio spp. treatment (non-Vibrio spp., Vibrio harveyi (Vh), Vibrio parahaemolyticus (Vp), Vibrio vulnificus (Vv), Vh-Vp, Vv-Vp, Vp-Vh, and Vp-Vv-Vh) were applicated. SWE was diluted and LAB at a concentration of 108 cell/mL were fermented in three days at 30°C. Ten newly hatched Artemia nauplii were enriched with fermented and non-fermented SWE for one hour, then challenged with 108 cell/mL Vibrio spp. The survival of Artemia was recorded every 6 hours. Results showed that the survival rate of Artemia enriched with 300 ppb concentration of SWE and LAB was significant than control (p<0.05). It is concluded that there is a positive effect on the bioencapsulation of the minimum concentration of SWE and LAB secretion to accelerate Artemia’s immune response.

Abstract Aplastic anemia (AA) in Mexico has an incidence of 3.5-4.0 x 106 (Hematology 2002;7:229-232). The presentation of idiopathic hepatitis associated aplastic anemia (IHAAA) in México is unknown due to data was not found on PubMed, but represents from 2-5% of all cases of AA in Europe and Far East (Virology 2011;8:87 and Br J Haematol 2010;149:890-895). A previously healthy and normal family history 15 years old boy presented with epistaxis, pallor, jaundice, choluria and slightly hepato and splenomegaly, which were confirmed with full body CT scan, and no other alterations were detected. Remarkable results from AMA designated disease/organ panels were Hb 11.7 g/dL, adjusted reticulocytes 0.26%, neutrophils 0.931 K/µL, platelets 5.0 K/µL, ALT 1920 U/L, AST 2300 U/L, conjugated bilirubin 17 mg/dL, unconjugated bilirubin 15 md/dL, ferritin 1135 ng/mL. Supportive care was given and study for pancytopenia and hepatitis was started. Negative results from complete autoimmune panel including anti-LKM, anti-smooth muscle and anti-mitochondrial antibodies; panels for all hepatitis viruses, HIV, STORCH, EB, CMV, PVB19 and leptospira were negative. The patient was prepared for biopsies. Liver biopsy showed steatohepatitis, grade 2 fibrosis and lymphocyte infiltrates. Bone marrow biopsy showed 5% cellularity with absence of myeloid and megakaryocytes precursors, only erythroblasts and lymphoplasmocytoid cells; flow cytometry reported no abnormal cells and G-band karyotypes with and without mitomycin were normal. While the results from the biopsies the hepatic function improves but pancytopenia worsened to Hb 6.4 g/dL and neutrophils 0.124 K/µL. IHAAA was diagnosed and the patient continues with supportive care while results from siblings for allogeneic transplant arrive. IHAAA is well described condition where secondary causes are ruled out. Autoreactive T lymphocytes and cytokines are implied in the pathophysiology as in conventional AA, affecting transiently the liver; and treatment is the same for both entities. Figure 1 Figure 1. Mesin las gesek dengan sistem pneumatik merupakan suatu proses pemesinan dimana dua batang poros digabungkan yang mana nyala las diperoleh akibat dari kombinasi antara gesekan dan tekanan. Dibutuhkan kecepatan dan nilai tekan yang sesuai agar menghasilkan mengasilkan lasan yang sempurna. Metode dalam pembuatan mesin las gesek dengan sistem pneumatik ini dimulai dengan proses perencanaan, pembuatan, perakitan dan pengujian mesin. Tahapan dalam pembuatan mesin las gesek dengan sistem pneuamtik antara lain: menggambar kerja, pemotongan bahan untuk komponen pembuatan sesuai gambar kerja, pengeboran, pembubutan, pengefraisan, pengelasan, perakitan, finishing, analisis seluruh biaya, pengujian kinerja mesin yang dibuat dan pengujian spesimen hasil dari proses mesin las gesek dengan sistem pneumatik. Hasil yang dicapai yaitu mesin las gesek dengan sistem pneumatik berjalan dengan kondisi fungsional yang baik dengan kecepatan putaran maksimum 2800 rpm dan nilai tekanan maksimum 8,5 bar, data tersebut diperoleh dari spesifikasi motor listrik dan actuator pneumatik yang digunakan. Mesin tersebut nantinya dipakai untuk keperluan laboraturium teknik mesin pada Universitas Muria Kudus Dari hasil pengujian spesimen uji stainless steel 304 didapatkan data yaitu pada kecepatan 1820 rpm, nilai tekan 4 bar dan waktu gesek 30 detik, spesimen uji stainless steel 304 berdiameter 10 mm memperoleh hasil yang paling sempurna, terlihat dari lelehan yang dihasilkan serta tidak ada tekstur retak pada lelehannya.

Abstract Stainless steel expansion joint, as the connecting part of GIS equipment, has the function of compensating the deformation of GIS caused by cold and hot stress. And it should at least meet the requirements of anti-corrosion and non-magnetic according to the working environment. This work investigate the performance of 304, 316L and 825 austenitic stainless steel expansion joints by metallographic analysis, hardness test, XRD analysis and magnetic analysis, and suggestions on material selection of expansion joint for power grid equipment are put forward.
