Анотація:

A total of 165 camels of different ages were castrated through a small, prescrotal midline incision between January, 2010 and December, 2011. The incision was closed with one interrupted, horizontal mattress suture using USP-2 chromic catgut. In 14/165 animals (8.5%) postoperative infection (sepsis) developed, which healed in two to three weeks after open wound management. The remaining 151 animals had an uneventful recovery, but a slight edematous swelling of the scrotum was observed in 8 of the 151 animals (5.3%), which was self-limiting and of no significance. No primary or secondary postoperative bleeding was noticed in any of the animals. It was concluded that this technique was less time consuming with negligible postoperative care and complications when performed under standard surgical principles.

Анотація:

Success semantics is a theory of content that characterizes the truth-conditions of mental representations in terms of the success-conditions of the actions derived from them. Nanay (Philos Stud 165(1): 151-165, 2013) and Dokic and Engel (Frank Ramsey London: Routledge, 2003) have revised this theory in order to defend it from the objections that assailed its previous incarnations. I argue that both proposals have seemingly decisive flaws. More specifically, these revised versions of the theory fail to deal adequately with the open-ended possibility of unforeseen obstacles for the success of our actions. I suggest that the problem of ignored obstacles undermines success semantics quite generally, including alternative formulations such as Blackburn’s.

В статье исследованы вопросы эвакуации детского населения СССР из оккупированных и потенциально опасных территорий в Казахстан. На основе архивных данных авторами изучены вопросы организации перевозки детей, условия, в которых дети пребывали, в тыловые регионы, медицинское об служивание в пути и по прибытию, размещение коллективов детских учреждений (детских домов и интернатов) в имеющихся детских домах республики. Особый интерес представляют материалы, связанные с проживанием детей в детских домах и интернатах по областям. Исследованы проблемы, с которыми столкнулись дети, прибывшие более чем из 20 республик и областей Советского Союза, связанные с материально-бытовыми трудностями. Изучены постановления, распоряжения правительства и партии в отношении улучшения качества жизни эвакуированных детей, а также действия местных исполнительных органов власти для решения проблем проживания, обмундирования, медицинского обслуживания, воспитания, обучения и самое важное — питания эвакуированных советских детей. На примере детских домов и интернатов некоторых областей Казахстана авторами дана наглядная картина того, какими первоначально были условия проживания прибывших детских коллективов. Авторы при написании статьи обращаются к следующим архивам: Центральный Государственный архив Республики Казахстан, Архив Президента Республики Казахстан, Государственный архив Карагандинской области, Государственный архив Российской Федерации. Некоторые документы, использованные при написании статьи, являются в недавнем времени рассекреченными.

Анотація:

Objective: To determine frequency of vitamin B12 deficiency and dyslipidemia and calculate atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) in Gestational Diabetes mellitus (GDM). Study Design: Observational study. Setting: Department of Biochemistry, Liaquat University Jamshoro. Period: January 2018 to December 2019. Material & Methods: 216 cases of GDM were selected by inclusion criteria. Venous blood sampling collected blood sample that were centrifuged to get sera. Glucose, vitamin B12, and blood lipids were estimated by standard methods. Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP) was calculated as log TAG/HDLc ratio. Data was analysed by SPSS 21.0 ver. at 95% CI (P≤0.05). Results: Vitamin B12 deficiency and Dyslipidemia were noted in 151 (69.9%) and 165 (23.61%) of GDM cases respectively (P=0.0001). Vitamin B12 was found low as 156.62±82.9 ng/mL. TC (244.07±49.11), TAGs (699.4±249.5), and LDLc (137.9±40.84) were found high and HDLc (33.13±5.71) was low. High and medium risk AIP was noted in 17 (7.87%) and 29 (13.4%) of GDM cases (P=0.0001). Vitamin B12 proved negative TC (r= -0.25, P=0.02), TAG (r= -0.23, P=0.02), LDLc (r= -0.79, P=0.0001) and positive correlation with HDLc (r= 0.76, P=0.0001). Conclusion: Vitamin B12 deficiency and Dyslipidemia were noted in 151 (69.9%) and 165 (23.61%) of GDM cases respectively. High and medium risk AIP was noted in 17 (7.87%) and 29 (13.4%) of GDM cases.

From 2016 to 2018, ticks were collected from 272 dogs admitted to veterinary clinics in the city of Olsztyn (north-eastern Poland). Among 522 collected ticks, 423 were identified as Ixodes ricinus (413 females and 10 males) and 99 as Dermacentor reticulatus (62 females and 37 males). Non-engorged (86 individuals) and engorged (436 individuals) ticks were screened for the presence of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato and Anaplasma phagocytophilum DNA. Borrelia and A. phagocytophilum species detection was determined based on the sequence of the fla B and 16S RNA genes, respectively. DNA of B. burgdorferi s.l. was identified in 31.6% (165/522, 95% CI: 27.6–35.8%) of ticks (I. ricinus 151/423, 35.7%, 95% CI: 31.1–40.4%; D. reticulates 14/99, 14.1%, 95% CI: 7.9–22.6%). A. phagocytophilum was identified in 0.96% (5/522, 95% CI: 0.3–2.2%) of specimens. All positive samples were engorged I. ricinus females (5/402, 1.2%, 95% CI: 0.4–2.9%). In 85.4% (141/165, 95% CI: 79.1–90.4%) of Borrelia infected ticks, the DNA of one genospecies was revealed. The DNA of at least two different genospecies was detected in 14.5% of specimens (24/165, 95% CI: 9.5–20.8). The coexistence of B. burgdorferii s.l. and A. phagocytophilum was not detected.

Akhayat, F. Broders, and K. Scherrer. J. Mol. Biol. 1986. 187:47-493), were found also in the nucleus (Grossi de Sa, M.-F., C. Martins de Sa, F. Harper, O. Coux, O. Akhayat, P. Gounon, J. K. Pal, Y. Florentin, and K. Scherrer. 1988. J. Cell Sci. 89:151-165). Immunofluorescence, immunoelectron microscopy, and immunochemical studies using mAbs directed against some of the prosomal proteins of duck erythroblasts indicate that in the cytoplasm of HeLa and PtK cells, prosome antigens are associated with the intermediate filament network of the cytokeratin type.

Objective: To compare the outcome of vaginal progesterone plus cervical cerclage versus vaginal progesterone alone in reducing preterm birth in high risk women. Study Design: Randomized Controlled Trial. Setting: Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur. Period: April 2022 to October 2022. Material & Methods: A total of 330 high risk women aged between 18-40 with sonographically short cervix (<25 mm) were included. After randomization, in Group-A (n=165), cervical cerclage was done at 12 weeks and then 200 mg vaginal progesterone was given once daily at night till delivery while in Group-B (n=165) women, 200 mg vaginal progesterone was given once daily at night till delivery. All women were followed up till delivery and outcome (satisfactory/unsatisfactory) was noted. Results: In a total of 330 women, the mean age was 29.17±5.29 years while 194 (58.8%) women were aged between 18 to 30 years of age. Satisfactory outcome (no preterm birth in <37 weeks) was seen in 151 (91.5%) women in Group-A (combination of vaginal progesterone plus cervical cerclage) and 102 (61.8%) in Group-B (vaginal progesterone alone, p=0.0001. Conclusion: This study concluded that outcome of combination of vaginal progesterone and cervical cerclage is better as compared to progesterone alone in reducing preterm birth among high risk women.

AbstractWe have investigated the stability of gas-phase formaldehyde oligomers and its implications for cometary science. Our experiments indicate that when a formaldehyde-methanol solution is vaporized in the mass spectrometer, high molecular mass POM species (45, 61, 75, 91, 105, 121, 135, 151, 165 amu) exist in the gas phase in the temperature range 473 K to 773 K. These laboratory results complement our previous experiments using a formaldehyde-water solution and indicate that formaldehyde oligomers are stable in the gas phase up to at least 6 monomeric units in length. Methanol is important in the end-capping process of the oligomers, leading to increased stability and a richer mass spectrum when compared to the formaldehyde-water solution. The results are consistent with mass spectra obtained by theGiottoPICCA instrument exhibiting alternating 14-16 amu mass peaks.

The use of near infrared spectroscopy (NIR) was investigated for its ability to predict a range of chemical constituents (protein, moisture, fat, ash, total dietary fibre) and functional properties (100 seed weight, hydration capacity, hull percentage, dehulling efficiency, colour, cooking quality) of field peas and chickpeas. NIR calibrations were developed using 165 samples of field peas and 151 samples of chickpeas which had been spectrally selected from larger populations encompassing two seasons. For both species, calibration accuracy was generally better on ground than whole samples for chemical composition, but better on whole than ground samples for physical or functional properties. For most properties measured, accuracy of NIR calibrations was either satisfactory or promising, but successful implementation in a breeding programme will depend on further evaluation using independent samples, broadening the sample populations or improvements in the reference methods.

Psychological well-being (PWB) is an individual ability to accept themselves, have openness, have the motivation to achieve goals and be able to build good relationships with others. This study aims to determine the effect of humility on psychological well-being in organizational settings. This study used purposive sampling on hospital employees in Semarang. For measuring variables used Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scales (α=.815; 16 items) and McElroy’s Humility Scales (α=.839; 44 items). The study participants amounted to 165 people (111 women; 54 men; STDage = 3.045). Participants have educational backgrounds in High School (N=9), Undergraduate (N=151), and Graduate (N=5). Humility influences psychological well-being in hospital employees. The higher the level of humility, the higher the psychological well-being of hospital employees. The dominance of humility and psychological well-being levels in hospital employees is in the medium to high category

В статье проанализирован развивающийся в режиме реального времени кризис на рынке природного газа ЕС. Показано, что кризис начался в середине 2021 г., главным образом, из-за упущений регуляторов, задавших слишком высокую скорость энергетического перехода и допустивших ошибку при оценке ликвидности на рынке физического газа. Отказавшись от заключения долгосрочных контрактов на импорт природного газа и сделав выбор в пользу спотового рынка, Евросоюз сам поставил себя в зависимость от непредсказуемых ценовых скачков на сырье. ЕС любой ценой стремится построить спотовый рынок природного газа, цена на котором определяется текущим балансом спроса и предложения. Такая цель поставлена потому, что в рамках климатической и энергетической стратегии Евросоюза рынок газа во все большей степени подчиняется обслуживанию рынка электроэнергии. С весны 2022 г. развитие газового рынка ЕС перешло в систему координат, заданных политическими интересами и соображениями энергетической безопасности. Главными структурными сдвигами долгосрочного характера на европейском рынке газа стали, во-первых, ускорившаяся переориентация на импорт СПГ; во-вторых, усиление тенденции к сокращению спроса; в-третьих, переход цен на газ на более высокий уровень. Повышенные цены на газ толкают вверх цены на электроэнергию, что позволяет правительствам мобилизовать требуемые для ускорения зеленого и энергетического перехода дополнительные финансовые ресурсы. Форсированная перестройка европейского газового рынка и рынка электроэнергии запустила процесс деиндустриализации промышленного ядра ЕС. Угроза деиндустриализации заставляет страны-члены Евросоюза искать пути нерыночной поддержки национальной промышленности, что, в принципе, может подтолкнуть центробежные тенденции в ЕС.

In the penultimate chapter of this work, contributor Bill Fisher asks a rhetorical question: “Evidence-based library and information practice; who could argue or take issue with an idea like that?” (151). In an edited volume examining “evidence based library and information practice” (EBLIP), this question is not tongue-in-cheek. Common sense, or perhaps wishful thinking, suggests that librarians already employ information in their decision-making. It is therefore necessary to clarify that the authors have a specific definition for being “evidence based.” They define EBLIP as “approaching [library] practice with a particular mindset,” arguing “being evidence based means that you consider your practice from a curious and questioning perspective, with a view to continuous improvement… you question what you are currently doing and think about possible ways to do things better” (165). The work, with its fourteen short chapters, examines the processes by which information is gathered, processed, and acted upon.

The milk market in the European Union (EU) is adjusting rapidly to the removal of dairy quotas. The most important changes include increased milk yield per cow, increased total milk production, decreased number of cows, and the decreased milk consumption. The main aim of the paper is to examine the milk production changes in the EU. We investigated the dynamics of changes in farm milk production during the period from 1998–2017 in the EU. Moreover, we investigated the impact of the removal of quotas on the production of milk on farms in the EU countries for the period from 2015–2017. Milk production in the EU increased from 151 million tons in 1998 to 165 million tons in 2017 (a 10% increase). A multi-variate regression model was to test which explanatory variables have an impact on milk production in the EU. The most important factors were a gross domestic product, final household consumption expenditure (current prices, million euro), and population (number).

The volume of milk consumed increased from 1.6 mL day–1 at 55 days post partum to 32.5 mL day–1 at 165 days. The daily energy intake ranged from ~22 to 151 kJ day–1 during pouch life. The crude growth efficiency (grams of growth per millilitre of milk consumed) increased from an average of 0.35 to 0.46 g mL–1 in the early stages of pouch life, and then decreased to 0.24 g mL–1 during Phase 2b of lactation. The crude growth efficiency measured in our study indicates that quokkas are equally efficient in converting milk energy to body mass as other marsupials reported in the literature. Measuring milk intake with this method offers a non-toxic, minimally invasive alternative to other techniques for measuring milk consumption in marsupials, when milk is the only source of water intake.

But in common with a number of famous men of ability and learning of his time, such as Zhang Heng (78–139), Ma Rong (79–166) or Wang Fu (c. 90–165), Wu Liang showed a persistent reluctance to serve in an official capacity, preferring to devote himself to a study of history and philosophy. In all probability he felt, like the others, that in the prevailing political circumstances, it was not possible both to embark on an official career and to retain a measure of personal integrity. Be that as it may, other members of his family evidently felt no such scruples; his nephew Wu Ban , for example, was appointed to be chief clerk at Dunhuang.

We construct a nontrivial definable type V field topology on any dp-minimal field [Formula: see text] that is not strongly minimal, and prove that definable subsets of [Formula: see text] have small boundary. Using this topology and its properties, we show that in any dp-minimal field [Formula: see text], dp-rank of definable sets varies definably in families, dp-rank of complete types is characterized in terms of algebraic closure, and [Formula: see text] is finite for all [Formula: see text]. Additionally, by combining the existence of the topology with results of Jahnke, Simon and Walsberg [Dp-minimal valued fields, J. Symbolic Logic 82(1) (2017) 151–165], it follows that dp-minimal fields that are neither algebraically closed nor real closed admit nontrivial definable Henselian valuations. These results are a key stepping stone toward the classification of dp-minimal fields in [Fun with fields, Ph.D. thesis, University of California, Berkeley (2016)].

Based on the objective taken maximum plant height (121.44 cm), number of tillers (15.81), plant dry weight (57.01 g/plant), tillers/m2 (391.28), panicle length (29.28 cm), filled grains (247.04), grain yield/hill (29.13 g), seed yield (5.82 t/ha), stover yield (13.95 t/ha) and were recorded significantly higher in hybrid R-151.

Abstract In this paper, we further investigate the planar Newtonian three-body problem with a focus on collinear configurations, where either the three bodies or their velocities are aligned. We provide an independent proof of Montgomery’s result (Montgomery 2007 Ergod. Theory Dyn. Syst. 27 311–40), stating that apart from the Lagrange’s solution, all negative energy solutions to the zero angular momentum case result in syzygies, i.e. collinear configurations of positions. The concept of generalised syzygies, inclusive of velocity alignments, was previously explored by the author for bounded solutions in Tsygvintsev (2023 C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris 361 331–5). In this study, we broaden our scope to encompass negative energy cases and provide new bounds. Our methodology builds upon the elementary Sturm–Liouville theory and the Wintner-Conley ‘linear’ form of the three-body problem, as previously explored in the works of Albouy and Chenciner (1997 Invent. Math. 131 151–84); Albouy (2004 Mutual Distances in Celestial Mechanics (Lectures at Nankai Institute)); Chenciner (2013 Acta Math. Vietnam. 38 165–86).

Abstract Abstract 4211 It has been reported that patients exposed to topical bovine thrombin preparations may develop antibodies to bovine thrombin, factor V or various other proteins. In some cases these antibodies can cross-react with the corresponding human coagulation proteins. The present study was undertaken to determine if the antibodies induced by bovine thrombin antigens in rabbits could also cross-react with human a-thrombin and RecothromTM. Bovine crude thrombin and its purified versions, thrombin 4A and 4B, were administered to individual groups of rabbits on 0, 21, 42, 91, 123 and 151 days. Blood was drawn from each rabbit on days 30, 50, 105, 137 and 165, respectively. The antiserum from each rabbit and the pooled antisera from individual groups were purified to obtain the IgGs. Utilizing western blotting method, the possible cross-reactivity of each IgG with human thrombin and RecothromTM was explored using serial diluted human α-thrombin (20μg, 10μg, and 5μg) and RecothromTM (10U, 5U, and 2.5U). No cross-reactivity with either human α-thrombin or RecothromTM was observed with both anti-bovine crude thrombin IgGs and thrombin 4B IgGs collected on day 30 and day 165. However, anti-bovine thrombin 4A IgGs showed cross-reactivity with both human α-thrombin and RecothromTM. Cross-reactivity of anti-bovine thrombin 4A IgGs with human α-thrombin and RecothromTM was augmented with time. The minimum concentration of 4A IgG required to exhibit cross-reactivity with human α-thrombin and RecothromTM varied considerably among individual rabbits. These results demonstrate that rabbit anti-bovine thrombin 4A IgG could cross-react with both human a-thrombin and RecothromTM in a time/concentration-dependent manner. By probing bovine factor V/Va samples, the possible cross-reactivity of each IgG collected at different time points (from day 30 to day 165) was explored using Western blotting techniques. The results indicated that rabbit anti-bovine prothrombin and crude thrombin IgGs could cross-react strongly with bovine factor V/Va in an immunization time-dependent manner. However, antibodies generated in thrombin 4A-treated rabbits presented much weaker cross-reactivity with bovine factor V/Va. Furthermore, no cross-reactivity with bovine factor V/Va-related antigens was observed when the anti-bovine thrombin 4B IgG collected at any time point was used. The results suggest that thrombin 4B preparation contains the least bovine factor V/Va contaminants among the bovine prothrombin/thrombin preparations studied and the amount of bovine factor V/Va contaminants in bovine thrombin 4B is too small to elicit the generation of antibodies against bovine factor V/Va in rabbits.

Effects of the synthetic auxin 2,4-DP on fruit ripening of `La France' pear (Pyrus communis L.) on `Quince C' (Cydonia oblonga Mill. rootstock) were investigated. A solution of 2,4-DP at 90 μL·L-1 was applied 143, 151, and 159 days after full bloom (DAFB) to whole trees and compared with nonstored nontreated fruit and stored nontreated fruit (harvested 165 DAFB). Internal ethylene concentration in 2,4-DP-treated fruit increased more than in nonstored nontreated fruit and the level was higher the earlier the application time. Fruit firmness decreased earliest for fruit treated with 2,4-DP at 143 DAFB, followed by 151 DAFB-treated fruit and then 159 DAFB-treated fruit. In the nonstored nontreated fruit, firmness also showed a slight decrease with time. In all 2,4-DP treatments, water-soluble polyuronide (WSP) increased with ripening and hexametaphosphate-soluble polyuronide (HMP) and HCl-soluble polyuronide (HP) concentrations decreased. Most notably, WSP concentration increased earliest in fruit treated with 2,4-DP at 143 DAFB. Total concentration of neutral sugars from cell walls in each treatment decreased with time, and the levels in fruit treated with 2,4-DP at 143 DAFB were lowest at each sampling time. Arabinose concentrations were high compared with other neutral sugars throughout fruit ripening for each treatment, while glucose concentrations were high in nonripened fruit. At 193 DAFB, ≈85% of the fruit treated with 2,4-DP at 143 DAFB reached edible condition (firmness not more than 0.4 N·mm-2) on the tree. Furthermore, ≈85% of the fruit treated with 2,4-DP at 151 DAFB reached edible condition on 200 DAFB and close to 100% of the fruit treated with 2,4-DP at 159 DAFB on 207 DAFB. When ripened in a controlled room at 20 °C and 90% relative humidity after 2,4-DP treatment, the fruit treated earliest reached edible condition the soonest. Results demonstrate that 2,4-DP treatment can be used as an effective method of producing good quality fruit ripened on the tree, and that 2,4-DP may be an adequate replacement for cold storage conditioning to induce ripening capacity. Abstract Topical bovine thrombin preparations have been used successfully in the vast majority of patients however, isolated reports of adverse events including deranged hemostasis resulting in severe or refractory bleeding and/or thrombosis exist. It has been assumed that a severe coagulopathy following exposure to topical bovine thrombin may be attributed to the impurities in bovine thrombin preparations such as factor Va. Obtained through the activation of bovine prothrombin by thromboplastin, crude thrombin preparation was further purified using ion-exchange chromatography and membrane filtration steps yielding thrombin 4A and 4B preparations which exhibit a higher specific activity and are devoid of some of the protein contaminants seen in earlier generation products. Consequently, a purer preparation of bovine thrombin might prove to be less immunogenic. The aims of this study are to evaluate the immunogenic potential of bovine prothrombin; to compare the purities of crude thrombin, 4A and 4B preparations by virtue of the detection of prothrombin related antigens. Bovine prothrombin was administered intravenously to 3 individual rabbits on days 0, 21, 42, 91, 123 and 151 using standard immunologic methods. Blood was drawn from each rabbit on days 30, 50, 105, 137 and 165 and the pooled antisera from 3 rabbits were purified to obtain the immunoglobulinG (IgG) using protein G affinity columns. Utilizing western blotting, the specificity of bovine prothrombin IgG collected on each time point (day 30, 50, 105, 137 and 165) was determined by using specific human and bovine coagulation factors such as prothrombin, thrombin, factor Xa, factor VIIa and factor Va fragment. In addition, serial diluted bovine crude thrombin, 4A and 4B preparations were also probed using the prothrombin IgG from day 30 and day 165 to explore prothrombin related-antigens in these samples. Under the experimental conditions used, neither cross-reactivity with human coagulation factors nor the recognition of bovine factor Va antigen was observed with the prothrombin IgG collected on any time point. The results of Western Blotting using the prothrombin IgG collected on day 30 and day 165 revealed that the lowest amount of crude thrombin, 4A and 4B preparations which prothrombin IgG could detect was 0.25U, 10U and 20U, respectively. The rank order of the number of detectable immunoreactive bands in each preparation by prothrombin IgG was: crude thrombin > thrombin 4A > thrombin 4B. Compared with the IgG collected on day 30, the 165 day’s IgG showed a littler stronger detecting ability for the prothrombin antigens in bovine thrombin samples. The results suggest that despite of the presence of trace amounts of bovine factor Va and other coagulation factors-related antigens in bovine prothrombin preparation, these contaminants failed to elicit the generation of relevant antibodies in rabbit. The results also indicate that among the three thrombin preparations tested, thrombin 4B preparation contains the least antigens which could be found in bovine prothrombin preparation. The suggested relationship between factor Va contaminants and the development of corresponding neutralizing human antibodies that could result in a coagulopathy in humans needs further study.

Abstract Chinook Salmon Oncorhynchus tshawytscha return to the Yukon River in northwestern North America each summer, migrating to spawning destinations from the lower river to more than 3,000 km upstream. These returns support numerous fisheries throughout the basin. Despite a long history of fisheries research and management, there is no comprehensive account of Chinook Salmon spawning areas in the basin. To address this issue, we cataloged, summarized, and mapped the known spawning areas of Yukon River Chinook Salmon by using a variety of sources including published articles, gray literature, and information archived in agency databases. Most of our sources were published within the past 30 y, but some refer to observations that were recorded as long ago as the late 1800s. We classified spawning areas as major or minor producers with three indicators of abundance: 1) quantitative estimates of escapement (major producer if ≥500 fish, minor producer if <500 fish), 2) radiotelemetry-based proportions of annual production (major producer if ≥1% of the run, minor producer if <1% of the run), and 3) aerial survey index counts (major producer if ≥165 fish observed, minor producer if <165 fish observed). We documented 183 spawning areas in the Yukon River basin, 79 in the United States, and 104 in Canada. Most spawning areas were in tributary streams, but some were in main-stem reaches as well. We classified 32 spawning areas as major producers and 151 as minor producers. The Chinook Salmon spawning areas cataloged here provide a baseline that makes it possible to strategically direct abundance, biological sampling, and genetics projects for maximum effect and to assess both spatial and temporal changes within the basin.

We conducted a cross-sectional web-based study to assess attitudes and experiences with HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) amongst a multiracial cohort of gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women in Long Island, New York. Participants were recruited through clinical providers and community-based organizations. The survey assessed knowledge and attitudes toward PrEP and factors that facilitate willingness to take it. Of the 189 respondents, most participants were Latinx/Hispanic (57.1%; n = 105), gay-identifying (81.2%; n = 151), and cisgender men (88.7%; n = 165). One in five participants completed high school or lower (19.4%; n = 36). Among those who had never used PrEP (53.4%; n = 101), nearly all participants were willing to use it if it were free or covered as part of their insurance (89.4%; n = 84). The most common barriers to not using PrEP was not knowing where to obtain it (68.3%; n = 69), concerns about side effects (42.1%; n = 35), and concerns about affordability (38.5%; n = 25). This study discusses specific nuances to the suburbs, including cultural norms and structural barriers that should be incorporated in health promotion initiatives in addressing these factors.

The subject matter of this case can be seen from the results of the Judicial Review with Decision Number 165 P / Pdt.Sus-PHI / 2018, stating that the Defendant has unilaterally terminated the Work Relationship and is obliged to pay compensation to the Plaintiff in the form of wages until the IMTA end. Even though according to Article 62 of Law No. 13 of 2003 concerning Labor states that if one party terminates a work relationship before the time expires, the party ending the employment relationship is obliged to pay the worker or labor wage until the expiration of the term of the work agreement. In addition to that, the other main issue is the supervision of the Ministry of Manpower on the use of Foreign Workers (TKA) related to this case. Анотація:

The article consists of an introduction, a main part with three sections and a conclusion. The purpose of the study is to disclose the content of the concepts of “A Man Playing”, “A Machine Playing”, “Posthumanism” and “Essentiocognitivism”; review current advances in artificial intelligence and neural networks. The article focuses on the philosophy of posthumanism in the context of its application in machine learning, as well as a new philosophical concept called “essentiocognitivism” in its relation to artificial intelligence. The object of the study is the philosophical concept of essentiosocognitivism. The subject of the article is the consideration of certain aspects of this concept related to artificial intelligence as a “playing machine” and the positioning of a human being in the world of posthumanism. In the course of the work, critical methodology was used, on the basis of which the strengths and weaknesses of artificial neural networks were highlighted, the current state of the most famous playing neural networks, such as OpenAI and Alpha series from DeepMind, was analyzed, and the upcoming development of AI is considered in the context of a technological singularity. A philosophical comprehension has been made of certain aspects of essentiocognitivism, which play an important role in the history of the development of posthumanism. It is noted that the future of neural networks is largely determined by the gaming industry and moves towards the creation of a strong artificial intelligence, like the Playing Machine. Scientific novelty consists in examining a fundamentally new concept in the history of philosophy and substantiating the place and role of AI in the evolution of intelligent man. In the course of work, it was revealed that AI and, in particular, promising neural networks allow us to predict the probable future of mankind. As a basic thesis, we use the position derived from biological sciences that the evolution of the species Homo sapiens is not over, and will continue in a technological manner. As a result of the study, a working concept of essentiocognitivism was introduced, and the conclusion was made that trans- and posthumanism can solve many global problems of mankind. It is emphasized that the future lies in the creation of a strong AI.

In this article the author examines distinctive features of plot building by Vladislav Krapivin, focusing on his realistic prose in the period from the beginning of 1960 to the beginning of 1980. This essay deals with Krapivin’s texts that are considered the core of his work, which are the vignettes, short novels and novels, distinguished by the image of “krapivin’s boy” – the main character type in Krapivin’s writing. There are such works as novels “Kashka the armor-bearer” (1966), “The side where the wind is “The side where the wind is” (1964–1966), “Caravel’s Shadow” (1971), “A Musketeer and a Fairy” (1978), “The Little Bolt” (1979), “A Lullaby for a Ârother” (1979), “Three some from the Square of the Carronades” (1981), “The Little Crane and the Lightings” (1982) and the trilogy “The boy with a sword” (1973–1975). Sketchiness of Krapivin’s plot models is analyzed in the context of children’s literature specifics; we discover and explore how Krapivin’s literary techniques are connected with traditions, patterns and schemes of children’s literature; we attempt to define Krapivin’s individual style and to discern his unique techniques in plot building. This essay puts forward a hypothesis that the main themes of Krapivin’s realistic texts and, consequently, the themes’ manifestation in plots, are influenced not by literary tradition alone, but also by biographic framework. The author of the article considers the features of the figure of the main character of Krapivin’s works, describes the main clichs and stereotypes used by the author to create this image. Distinctive features of the main character (“Krapivin’s boy”) define very specific and limited set of plots that are related to the realities of the boys’ gender socialization after the Second World War and from 1906s to 1980s. There is a reasonable assumption on the reasons why there are so few girl-related plots and why the girl characters are clinging and auxiliary in relation to male characters. The author of the article concluded that Krapivin embodies the central theme of his prose – the plot of the test of the hero – in specific plots related to the realities of socialization of teenage boys from intelligent circles living in provincial Russian cities in the post-war and late Soviet period (1950–1980 years). The article notes that the important moment of the boy’s gender socialization is the acquisition and appropriation of a “heroic identity” by him and that most of Krapvin’s stories tell about this phenomenon.

The article analyses the publication problem of A. Tarkovsky’s so-called ‘small cycles’ — poems sharing a common storyline and theme, which were not, however, published as poetic cycles in Tarkovsky’s lifetime, even though he had planned them as such and leﬅ respective handwritten collections. According to the critic, Tarkovsky created these poetic compilations irrespective of the actual possibility (or impossibility) of their publication. His entire experience of ‘living in literature,’ long years of failed attempts to publish abook of original poetry, the type of forbidding censorship policy prevailing at the time — everything indicated that one should better give up attempts toget published in the heavily supervised literary sector. Bak concludes that a publisher of Tarkovsky’s works should focus on reconstruction of the corpus that was not meant for censors, as the two compilations of his lyric oeuvre— the one prepared for publication and the other preserved in manuscripts only— exist in a sort of ‘alternative complementation,’ as if in parallel to each other, and should both be considered for preparation of scholarly publications.

Анотація:

The paper deals with the issue of forming of fairy tales artistic model in Russian drama. Currently, one considers dramatic fairy tale mainly in a general context of development of the author's literary fairy tale, although it has its own specifics. The study reviews some questions on the style and genesis of the Russian literary fairy tale for children in relation to the development of author's literary fairy tale as such. The author analyzes the influence of poetics of romanticism on the specifics of dramatic fairy tale, as well as the features of dramatic works by V. F. Odoevsky, who significantly influenced children's literature. His play “The Tsar-Maiden,” intended for children, is considered in comparison with a play by E.-T.-A. Hoffmann “Princess Blandina,” with similarities found in the system of characters, motif of matchmaking and some plot features associated with this motif. The fairy-tale play for adults “Segeliel or Don Quixote of the 19th century” analyzes the motifs of personified confrontation of good and evil and the interpenetration of magic and the ordinary, which was characteristic of romanticism in general and embodied both in other works of Odoyevsky and in later, mainly children's fairy-tale drama. The author suggests the possibility of influence of Odoevsky's plays on the development of children's drama. In both plays, we see the conventionality of artistic reality, resonating with humorous or ironic author's intonation. The paper also addresses I. A. Krylov's magical comic opera “Ilya Bogatyr,” revealing many characteristic features of Odoevsky's plays. At the same time, a distinction is made between Krylov's work and romantic direction, since the tradition of classicism is more clearly manifested in it. One may consider a reduction in pathos owing to humorous playing of heroic and mystical motifs as a feature of the comic opera. The analysis of these works allows us to formulate some characteristics of artistic model of the fairy-tale play, including conventionality of a fictional world, unexpected turns, personification of good and evil, unsteadiness of boundaries between the miracle and the ordinary, as well as humor and irony.
