Resumo:

The textbook reveals the concepts of health and disease, presents modern ideas about the causes and conditions of the occurrence of actual types of pathology. The importance of molecular genetic factors of heredity and reactivity in the formation of typical pathological processes is shown. The main regularities and features of manifestations of organ and system dysfunction in various types of pathology are described. Special attention is paid to the causes and mechanisms of development of socially significant diseases of the heart and blood vessels, brain, respiratory organs and other vital systems of the body. A separate section of the textbook provides up-to-date information on first aid. The criteria of safe conditions for first aid are described; the main clinical manifestations of emergency conditions in accidents, injuries, poisoning and diseases are described. A list of first aid measures for life-threatening conditions is presented. The cloud service contains a video of the basic algorithm for conducting cardiopulmonary resuscitation in a pharmacy or office. It is written in accordance with the program of the academic discipline "Fundamentals of Pathology" in the specialty 33.02.01 "Pharmacy" and refers to the educational and methodological publications of the cycle of general professional disciplines for students of pharmaceutical technical schools.

Resumo:

This chapter reviews recent literature on uses, effects, and gratifications of media during emerging adulthood. The authors examine traditional media forms, including television, films, video games, music, and books, and also newer media, such as cell phones, social networking sites, and other Internet use, finding that emerging adults spend more time using media than they spend doing any other activity, with most time being spent on the Internet and listening to music. They also find that exposure to certain types of media content can influence both positive and negative outcomes in emerging adulthood, including aggressive and prosocial behavior, body image, sexual behavior, friendship quality, and academic achievement. The authors show that emerging adults use media to gratify certain needs, key among them entertainment, autonomy, identity, and intimacy needs. The authors discuss areas for future research involving media and emerging adulthood.

This article appears in theOxford Handbook of New Audiovisual Aestheticsedited by John Richardson, Claudia Gorbman, and Carol Vernallis. This chapter asks what music video has become today and how its audiovisual aesthetics have changed online. It suggests that music videos generally through process of remediation content more actively than any other media form, performing the dual function of “visualizing music” (by recasting a song visually) and “musicalizing vision” (by structuring images according to musical logic). The discussion identifies and provides an overview of several new music video types that have come into existence online, placing them in five categories. In particular, the chapter focuses on interactive music videos and music video apps through close analyses of both Arcade Fire’s interactive video “We Used to Wait” and Björk’s interactive “app album”Biophilia. Both of these actively challenge what we have come to expect of music videos while still performing some familiar functions, prompting us to consider whether they are even music videos.

Catalogue: It will seem a dream is the title of an exhibition project at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León (MUSAC) Leon, Spain, 18 February – 4 June 2017. The exhibition consisted of an installation (FIG. 1) and a book (FIGs. 2–3). The installation comprised 10 video works, 1 slide work, 1 sculpture, 10 prints and 1 typed piece. The book was published by MUSAC and Occasional Papers in 2017.The project addressed questions about ways in which artists might reinterpret and curate their own work. Situated within the context of contemporary practices that are not object based, the research questions the extent to which works made through such practices might be able to generate and be understood through several forms, thus challenging expectations, based in object based practice and to some extent museology and conservation, around the singularity and stability of the artwork. The research was also an investigation into impact and practical implications of the digital within conceptual art. The exhibition was widely reviewed and the book was launched at an event at Matt’s Gallery 6 June 2017 and during the Artists’ Book Fair at Wiels, Brussels, 9 September 2017, in both cases with readings by Cruz.

This chapter explores algorithmic music and the software tools used to create it from the perspective of media that allow it to be distributed to mass audiences, such as smartphone apps, web-based experiences, and dedicated software packages. Different types of listener input and interaction for various algorithmic music formats are analysed, and examples of each are given. Advantages and disadvantages of various distribution platforms, both present and historic, are explored, and critical reaction to this wide body of work is also reviewed. Conclusions are drawn that the field is still relatively nascent, with advances in consumer technology being a main driver for innovation in this area of music distribution and creation.
