Contemporary trends on the world tourism market show that the number of tourists attracted by the cities in growing. Urban tourism is a growing tourism market and especially are attractive the cities in Europe. The cities as an important tourist destinations came of age during 1980s. The local governments came to recognize that tourism could have a role in urban economic development. The invisibility of tourism in cities partly arises from the fact that many facilities are used both by residents and visitors. Improving these facilities therefore provides benefits for local residents as well as assisting the promotion of tourism. City tourism development plan should be prepared as an integral part of global economic and social development plan of the city, with the main aim to integrate the tourism in existing urban economic development, and at the same time to prevent conflict situations. Tourism development in the city needs a network and cooperative relationships between local government, tourist organization, tourist agencies and different organizations/institutions in the city; public-private partnership is a must. In the paper are analyzed the main attributes, principles and goals of the tourism in the cities.

Abstract: Urban planning is a tool that helps in managing the things that need a spatial approach and it also helps in conducting the other activities. While planning the urban cities the past and recent condition should also be taken into account for better result. But each and every one is concern about the growth and development, though tourism includes different sectors and have different criteria according to the place, but the impact factors are almost common in all the aspects of tourism. Tourism cities have tremendous potential of research in their filed, but the problem should be identified specifically and proper methodology should be used during their process the government policies should also be taken into account and based on that solution should be plan of such places. In short recognized the impacts and work on it and according to that the urban planning should be done to boost tourism sector to next level. Once the impacts are taken out and work on such impact are carried out than the development of such places will automatically goes on increasing and it help to keep the environment and that specific place neat and clean and also help it to grow it original and natural beauty. Nashik city in Maharashtra state is one of the oldest city which have most important historical ,culturally and religious importance and one of the city who hold kumbha mela and most of the people visit this city throughout the year and if the impacts are solved at it basic and ground level than the development may rapidly increase and gives better life to the surrounding environment.

This article discusses the concept of city branding and how it can unlock urban tourism in urban areas of the developing world. City branding has emerged as a sophisticated tool for cities to (re)assert themselves in a global economic market. Cities are concerned with establishing their own images in order to attract tourists, investors, business people, students, and skilled personnel. This study focuses on Harare in Zimbabwe which is currently in the middle of preparing a city master plan to guide development for the next 15-20 years. Harare is strategically positioned as far as the country's open for business mantra is perceived. However, Harare's brand, the ‘Sunshine City', has lost its sparkle due to a plethora of urban planning challenges. The study was based on a wide desk study and content analysis. The research highlighted gaps in city branding practices in which history, modernity, and planning are lacking. Hence, urban planning practices such as master planning may help cities (re)assert themselves in the global cities economic and tourist networks.

This article will focus on how smart museums provide conditions for creative and playful learning experience that facilitates creative tourism development, overcomes cultural barriers of public participation, and therefore benefits to smart city planning. Theoretically, a social-cultural perspective to the concept of creativity will be outlined that further brings a framework that intertwines with concepts of creativity, learning, playfulness, fun, and participation. This framework addresses why and how visitors in smart museums may learn creative and playful experience through participation with new technologies. Furthermore, by taking emerging smart museums in China as a case, this article also brings implications for other cultures on how to develop diverse methods and varies strategies for encouraging public participation in smart city planning in the future.

AbstractThe chapter analyses the quality of managing cultural heritage sites in Croatia, particularly those inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage List, which are under growing pressure of overtourism. The analysis was performed by using qualitative and quantitative data on visitors of the UNESCO heritage and the most important impacts of tourism on destination areas, compared to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) focused on tourism and heritage. The study investigates the state of safeguarding, protecting and valorizing cultural heritage in relevant documents and in practice, focusing on Dubrovnik as a case study area. The analysis revealed the insufficient plans for managing UNESCO World Heritage Sites in relevant documents and in the field, as well as lack of monitoring of tourism impacts. The selected cases in Croatia confirmed that the most common way for heritage valorization is within the framework of tourism (McKercher and du Cros, Cultural tourism. The partnership between tourism and cultural heritage management, Routledge, New York/London, 2009), where heritage is most often associated with sustainable tourism. However, desirable regenerative tourism, that repairs the harm that has already been done, is still far from the present situation and it will require much effort in its planning, designing tools for its implementation and its management to achieve it in the near future.

Abstract Point of interest (POI) in an urban space represents the perception of city dwellers and visitors of a certain place. LTE cell tower access trace data is one of the promising data sources which has the potential to show real-time POI exploitation analysis. However, there is not much discussion on how it is correlated to diachronic POIs and their exploitation pattern. In this paper, we first show that the access trace pattern from the LTE cell tower can be used to discover which types of POIs exist in a certain area. Then, we propose a daily POI exploitation discovery scheme which can extract patterns of how POIs are daily used. Our analysis can provide a good insight into future urban space-based services such as urban planning and tourism.

This paper aims at recognizing the effects of social exclusion and the degradation process of public spaces and heritage environments in Spanish touristic destinations of Seville and Malaga. While it cannot be argued that after a lock-down as the experimented one, everything can return to the previous state, especially in environments where resilience has not been considered a value, in the early postCOVID lockdown days the mayors of these Andalusian cities reaffirmed the need to support the tourism sector as the only way to recover the economic breakout. We discuss the transformations that touristification and COVID-19 are driving into these cities, looking at the relaxed action of control and inspection on tourism activities and the offer of public “singular spaces” in the centre of the city for new activities related with the tourism industry and real estate speculation. Other European experiences are presented, showing that more focused measures on liveability and neighbour-centred recovery of urban life are possible.

On the 28 October 2019, the Government of Bali issued a Governor Ordinance No. 45/2019 prioritising(?)clean energy as the solution to the energy crisis in Bali. This crisis has been further exaserbated by the covid 19 pandemic which has decimated the Islands economy in particular, tourism, its primary industry. This has forced Bali to change its tourism orientation from urban tourism to rural tourismpromoting homestay, a shift which will signifcantly influence renewable energy planning for the Island. There are only two solar power plants on the island; one in Bangli and one in Karangasem each with 1 MWp on-Grid capacity. In addition there is a small hydro power plant in Buleleng with 1,95 MWp capacity, with existing rooftop PV power plant in the community generates around 1.3 MWp and 0.07 MWp off-grid. This leaves the Island with a signficant shortfall and must, in acocrdance with the Ordinance, be met through the promotion of community uptake of solar panel for homes and buildings. This paper presents the of the strategic planning approach used by a special task force supervisory team of Bali Clean Energy to implement the Ordinance for the island

The paper investigates crucial questions including the impact of the digital paradigm on the competitiveness of cities? How to regionally and globally market a city? What are the sustainable and resilient strategies for branding contemporary city? The paper also articulates a model for the case of Doha city banding and marketing which is based on a balanced approach. Such an approach would consider traditional assets including history and heritage. Also, it will include contemporary and innovative assets resulted from the last decade unprecedented investments in the sectors of education, research, culture and knowledge. Hence, the paper suggests a more holistic approach to city branding which would balance between social equity, economic prospertiy and ecological intergrity.

The structure and organization of greenway network is the core stone of greenway planning. Generally, the relevant between point elements and line elements in the network is taken as the focus of quantitative structure evaluation. In this study, the evaluation and organization method of greenway network is based on gravity model flow measurement. Ningan city is taken as an example because of its rich tourism resources and ecological resources. The cost distance formula has been improved in the process. Network flow is allocated to each path in the gravitational model to enhance the scientific evaluation. Firstly, the existing greenway network structure is sorted out and summarized. Minimum cost path method is used to form potential greenway network structure. This structure is divided into two parts, one is based on comprehensive elements and the other is based on general elements. The existing structure and potential structure are combined to form a preliminary abstract network structure. Gravity model is used to measure and classify the traffic among abstract network nodes. Two kinds of greenway network structures are compared and analyzed. On this basis, the greenway network is optimized and verified through field research. It provides a basis for the further planning and implementation of the actual greenway network in small towns

Groundwater resources development and the threat of future drought in Garfield County, southwestern Utah, prompted a study of groundwater quality and quantity in the environs of Bryce Canyon National Park and Bryce Canyon City in Johns and Emery Valleys. Water quality, water quantity, and the potential for water-quality degradation are critical elements determining the extent and nature of future development in the valley. The community of Bryce Canyon City is an area of active tourism and, therefore, of potential increase in growth (likely from tourism-related development). Groundwater exists in Quaternary valley-fill and bedrock aquifers (the Tertiary Claron Formation and Cretaceous sandstone). Increased demand on drinking water warrants careful land-use planning and resource management to preserve surface and groundwater resources of Johns and Emery Valleys and surrounding areas that may be hydrologically connected to these valleys including Bryce Canyon National Park.
