Consumer rejection is usually related to quality problems. The quality expected by consumers is of course the dragon fish feet which have SNI 7759.2013 standards. One of the concepts of food quality and safety that are recommended to support and guarantee food quality is the traceability system. There are 2 aspects to the traceability system, tracing, and tracking, which function as tools in recording the production footprint of a product. The purpose of the implementation of the research is to know the application of the traceability system on the product of the dragon's foot and to know the tracking and tracing system at PT. Ardena Artha Mulia. This research was carried out with data analysis methods and data collection techniques that would be carried out in the form of observations, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. The results of this Environmental Impact Assessment Audit Commission indicate that the process of making dragon foot products in PT. Ardena Artha Mulia, which started from the process of receiving materials to the delivery/stufing process, has implemented a traceability system by carrying out 2 aspects of the traceability system, the tracing, and tracking system. Evidence that the process of making dragon foot products has been implemented well with the stages of monitoring forms in each manufacturing process. On each monitoring form, a production code will be included to make it easier for manufacturers to track the product if something goes wrong so the factory can trace the root of the problem. Keywords fishsauce, bulu ayam fish, bromelain enzyme, fermentation

The article explores the creativity concept as self-creation in the context of the baroque idea of the artist-demiurge in prose by Valeriy Shevchuk. The writer’s creativity is seen as a postmodern palimpsest the various cultural fragments is «shining through»: numerous quotations, allusions, associations, «fragments» of other texts, concepts, signs, meanings and codes. The theme of creativity and formation of cultural in Valeriy Shevchuk's prose becomes the main subject of writer's musings. At that, this topic is not limited to the depiction of the psychology of the creator, but achieves the ontology and axiology of creativity generally, that is the philosophy of creative act as self-creative. And it is realized by the ways of the culture itself: endless borrowings and repeats, quotations and self-citations, allusions and reminiscences, doubling of the code, and using the structure of «text in text». So Shevchuk's prose appears as a «text of culture», a palimpsest. The author is a master of creating the illusion of cultural esotericism in his own texts. His work is a text iceberg, and it reads differently at different levels. An array of cultural allusions, signs, meanings, and associations never opens fully and thus gives the impression of secret writing, cryptotext of culture. Baroque, its ontology and axiology, aesthetics and poetics are the keys for reading for Shevchuk's texts. A number of Baroque concepts are through ones in the prose of the artist. It deduces that postmodernism of writer has the neo-Baroque essence. In particular, it is confirmed by the concept of creativity as self-creation and the idea of the artist-demiurge. Shevchuk explores a person's existence in culture, his or her existence in culture, the philosophy of creation and the psychology of perception of cultural values. His character is a «creative man» who emerges first of all as a subject of culture. According to Shevchuk, the only possible being is an existence in culture. The being outside of culture is impossible (in Shevchuk's model of world), because only through it the human life becomes meaningful. The origins of image of a «creative person» by Shevchuk arise out of the Baroque idea of the artist-demiurge, which is a well-founded alternative to the postmodern slogan «death of the author». The main motif that is manifested in most of Shevchuk's works is a semantic couple – a hero and a text. The last one must either be created or reproduced to self-define and achieve inner integrity, to comprehend own life and to fill it with meaning, to realize own complicity in cultural formation and in the sphere of the spiritual values, that is, to eternity. And the eternity is the higher purpose of man, which is an opposition to nothingness. This motif is analyzed in the novels «On a Humble Field», «The House on the Mountain», «The Path in the Grass», «Three Leaves behind the Window», «The Eye of the Chasm», and the tales «The Begginning of Horror», «To the Dragon's Jaws».

Abstract Secondary particles produced in spallation reactions of cosmic rays with the interstellar gas provide valuable information that allow us to investigate the injection and transport of charged particles in the Galaxy. A good understanding of the cross sections of production of these particles is crucial to correctly interpret our models, although the existing experimental data is very scarce and uncertain. We have developed a new set of cross sections, both inelastic and inclusive, computed with the FLUKA Monte Carlo nuclear code and tested its compatibility with CR data. Inelastic and inclusive cross sections have been compared to the most up-to-date data and parameterisations finding a general good agreement. Then, these cross sections have been implemented in the DRAGON2 code to characterize the spectra of CR nuclei up to Z = 26 and the secondary-to-primary ratios of B, Be and Li. Interestingly, we find that the FLUKA cross sections allow us to predict an energy-dependence of the B, Be and Li flux ratios which is compatible with AMS-02 data and to reproduce simultaneously these flux ratios with a scaling lower than 20%. Finally, we implement the cross sections of production of gamma rays, calculated with FLUKA, in the Gammasky code and compute diffuse gamma-ray sky maps and the local HI emissivity spectrum, finding a very good agreement with Fermi Large Area Telescope data.

In the frame of a sustainable nuclear energy, this study assesses Thorium-fueled CANDU and PWR competitiveness to reduce access difficulties to cheap uranium resources and Gen. IV cost and availability problems. It focuses on neutronic analysis of two thorium fuel management options : 233U production from Th/Pu fuels and 233U conversion in these reactors. In particular, breeding in multirecycled Th/U CANDU has been established. Before this work, simulation methods and nuclear data have been validated by cross-checking two different types of codes (probabilistic and deterministic). Symbiotic scenarios, with various reactor and fuel combinations have been evaluated and compared. Resources savings have been quantified through core slight modifications. Deeper modifications towards breeding in PWR have been proposed and preliminarily studied

SUMMARY This article will introduce the sound image of Jingquan Hu’s three films. The Chinese martial arts film, as the world’s unique type of film, conveys the dramatic effect through the shape of the image. The film is the reality of the reproduction as well as the combination of sound and image use, which can generate a dramatic effect and present a plot of ideals or associations. The film makes use of the traditional martial arts action. After shooting, Jinquan Hu firstly makes a fast-paced action and then creates a new martial arts film. By using the action and voice, the film expresses the vivid image and highlights the personal style. Jinquan Hu’s success not only builds up his status in the film field but also triggers a martial arts boom. These three martial arts films strengthen the image and plot in the sound effect of the characters and virtually convey the consciousness of the film to the audiences.

The motif of the woman and the dragon has been prevalent in Western art since antiquity, yet has hitherto remained understudied, and artworks featuring this motif in Western Mediterranean cultures have been examined primarily in relation to the topos of the male dragon-slayer. This book analyzes artistic images of women and dragons over an extensive period, from Classical Greece and Rome (with forays to Egypt and Mesopotamia) to the early modern period in Western Europe. The unique methodology employed in the study of this motif reveals its sacred core, as well as its relationship to rituals of fertility and oracular knowledge, to the liminal realm between life and death, and to the symbolism of Great Mother goddesses. At the same time, the images explored throughout expose stereotypes and biases against women in unusual positions of power, which were embedded in the motif and persisted in Western European art.

Representations of shapeshifters are prominent in medieval culture and they are particularly abundant in the vernacular literatures of the societies around the North Sea. Some of the figures in these stories remain well known in later folklore and often even in modern media, such as werewolves, dragons, berserkir and bird-maidens. Incorporating studies about Old English, Norse, Latin, Irish, and Welsh literature, this collection of essays marks an important new contribution to the study of medieval shapeshifters. Each essay highlights how shapeshifting cannot be studied in isolation, but intersects with many other topics, such as the supernatural, monstrosity, animality, gender and identity. Contributors to Shapeshifters in Medieval North Atlantic Literature come from different intellectual traditions, embracing a multidisciplinary approach combining influences from literary criticism, history, philology, and anthropology.

The brief Conclusion directs readers to the way in which the preceding book has addressed the questions set out in the Introduction, namely, whence the dragon familiar in the modern West derives, both in terms of its form and in terms of its typical narratives. The issue of form is chiefly addressed in Chapters 1, 3, 4, 5, and 10; that of the dragon’s typical narratives and associated motifs is chiefly addressed in Chapters 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 11. It is noted that, across the three major groups of narratives considered in the volume, those of Graeco-Roman antiquity, those of hagiography, and those of the medieval Germanic world, six core motifs are shared by all, namely: the dragon’s marauding nature, its fieriness, its pestilential breath, its cave-home, its control of a water-source, and, a less prominent one, its generation from a human corpse. Within its narrative, the dragon is a creature of destruction; beyond it, it is a creature of integration.

My first direct encounter with feng-shui came soon after I arrived in Hong Kong in 1965. A new hospital was being built on a hill overlooking Castle Peak Bay, where my family and I lived. The hospital foundations cut deep into the slope. Several old peasants told me, “This is very bad; the construction has cut the dragon’s pulse.” I learned that the hill had a dragon in it, whose blood circulation had been cut by the foundation trench. This seemed strange to me. I noted it down as a fascinating local belief, and thought no more of it. Soon afterward, a typhoon dumped two feet of rain on Hong Kong within a few days. The oversteepened, undercut slope failed, and a torrent of mud descended, washing out the hospital foundations and burying a house or two at the hill foot. “See?” said my friends. “This is what happens when you cut the dragon’s pulse.” A light went on in my head. The Chinese peasants, pragmatic to the core, had described the phenomenon in terms strange to me; but the phenomenon they described was perfectly real. I reflected that the geologists’ terms “oversteepening” and “slope failure” were not much more empirically verifiable than the dragon. Any Chinese peasant would find them even stranger than I had found that eminent serpent, since I had already learned from reading that ancient Chinese saw dragons in the scaly, ridged contours of mountain ranges. As time went on, I learned that I had found more than a different way of talking about obvious facts. Chinese site planning seemed more and more rational. I learned that villages protected the groves of trees that ringed them, because trees attract good influences and also provide shade, firewood, fruit, leafmold, timber, and other goods. I learned that roads to villages were made crooked to discourage evil beings—and that the evil beings included not only demons but also soldiers, government officials, and (other) bandits.

Consideration is given to the two major military saints to be associated with dragon fights, Theodore Tyron and George. In contrast to the majority of their saintly peers, they fight their dragons in a duly martial fashion. However, within the span of their narratives, the physical fight itself is typically brief, desultory, and anticlimactic, a coda to a more spiritual battle that has already been won. The two saints’ traditions are contexualized in different ways. The structure and motifs of a fourteenth-century AD account of Theodore’s fight against the Dragon of King Samuel’s City is aligned with those of the dragon fight of a roughly contemporary Byzantine romance, Callimachus and Chrysorrhoe. Whilst the earliest extant narrative of George’s fight against his dragon is relatively late, eleventh-century AD, what today survives as the principal living relic of his dragon-fight, its iconography, can be shown to have its roots in the very beginning of classical antiquity.

A working definition of the classical drakōn is established: ‘a large snake and something more’, i.e. a snake with a supernatural quality or affinity, and often too with additional or exceptional physical or behavioural attributes. This model, which will serve as the baseline for the investigation, draws on the author’s two previous volumes on the subject, whilst new points of substance are made on, inter alia, the origin of the dragon’s beard and the form of Typhon. The principal dragon-fight traditions of myth are reviewed, those of the Dragon of Ares, Nemea, the Hesperides (Ladon) and Colchis, Python and the Hydra. The principal dragon-gods of cult are similarly surveyed: Asclepius, Zeus Meilichios, and Agathos Daimon. Note is made of six core narrative motifs, to be significant throughout the study: marauding, fieriness, pestilential breath, cave-lairs, water-sources, and generation from a corpse.

Abstract Organized Baseball’s completion of its horsehide barrier against them did not stop blacks. They went on to develop skilled players, form professionalteams, and finally establish stable, organized leagues, patterned largely after those of the whites and composed of players many of whom, as I have demonstrated, were sufficiently skilled to play in the white leagues had they been given the opportunity. But where did all these competent players come from? Assuredly, they did not spring magically readymade from dragon’s teeth, like the soldiers of Greek mythology. Baseball begins with boys, black as well as white.

Abstract Since the dawn of our species, an unquenchable curiosity has driven us to ask and re-ask the same questions: Who are we? Where do we come from? Are we alone? Myths offered the first answers: myths of creation and of spirit worlds. From here, one trail led to religion and to answers grounded in faith. But another trail led to philosophy—to reasoning. Pure reasoning at first, then reasoning aided by observation and experiment—what we now call science. To the first question, science has offered an astonishing answer: We are animals. To the second question, science has offered only a partial answer, but an equally astonishing one: We are descended from microbes. To the third question, which alone lends meaning to the other two, science has not yet offered any answer. Yet we are within reach of an answer—one that will surely be even more astonishing than the other two.

Abstract Early attempts to develop a theory of international expansion coincided with attempts to come to grips with the phenomenon of the multinational enterprise (MNE)-both as an important business development calling for new economic evaluation and as a potential threat to states and firms in host countries. Neoclassical trade theory, which dominated international economics in the 1960 and 1970s, had no way of accounting for the existence of the MNE.

High-fidelity and accurate nuclear system codes play a key role in the design and analysis of complex nuclear power plants, which consist of multiple subsystems, such as the reactor core (and its fuel, burnable poisons, control elements, etc.), the reactor internal structures, the vessel, and the energy conversion subsystem and beyond to grid demand. Most commonly the interplay between these various subsystems is modeled using coupled codes, each of which represents one of the subsystems. And the most common direct coupling is that of thermal-hydraulics and neutronics codes. The subject of this paper is the coupling of codes that model not only thermal-hydraulics and neutronics, but also structural components damage. Furthermore, the neutronic component is not limited to the sole core solver. The coupled code system encompasses thermal-hydraulics, material performance of the fuel, neutronic solver, and neutronic data preparation. Thus, this paper presents a framework for coupling RELAP5/SCDAPSIM/MOD4.0 with a suite of neutron kinetics codes that includes NESTLE, DRAGON and a version of the ENDF library. The version of the RELAP5/SCDAPSIM/MOD4.0 code used in this work is one developed by Innovate System Software (ISS) as part of the international SCDAP Development and Training Program (SDTP) for best-estimate analysis to model reactor transients including severe accident phenomena. This RELAP5/SCDAPSIM/MOD4.0 code version is also capable of predicting nuclear fuel performance. It uses nodal power distributions to calculate mechanical and thermal parameters such as heat-up, oxidation and meltdown of fuel rods and control rods, the ballooning and rupture of fuel rod cladding, the release of fission products from fuel rods, and the disintegration of fuel rods into porous debris and molten material. On the neutronics side, this work uses the NESTLE and DRAGON codes. NESTLE is a multi-dimensional static and kinetic neutronic code developed at North Carolina State University. It solves up to four energy groups neutron diffusion equations utilizing the Nodal Expansion Method (NEM) in Cartesian or hexagonal geometry. The DRAGON code, developed at Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, performs lattice physics calculations based on the neutron transport equation and is capable of using very fine energy group structures. In this work, we have developed a coupling approach to exchange data among the various modules. In the coupling process, the generated nuclear data (in fine multigroup energy structure) are collapsed down into two- or four-group energy structures for use in NESTLE. The neutron kinetics and thermal-hydraulics modules are coupled at each time step by using the cross-section data. The power distribution results of the neutronic calculations are transmitted to the thermal-hydraulics code. The spatial distribution of coolant density and the fuel-moderator temperature, which result from the thermal-hydraulic calculations, are transmitted back to the neutron kinetics codes and then the loop is closed using new neutronics results. Details of the actual data transfers will be described in the full length paper.

Gas cooled fast reactors are one of the Generation 4 nuclear power plants with hard neutron spectrum and high conversion ratio. In the study a long life Supercritical CO2 (S-CO2) cooled fast reactor core design with 300 MWth is presented. Physical calculation was carried out based on Dragon and CITATION, and thermal hydraulic analysis was performed based on the single channel code. The MOX fuel was utilized in the core design, and the tube-in-duct (TID) assembly was chosen for its excellent characteristics. According to the physical and thermal hydraulic coupling calculation, the reactor in the study can be operated with 300MWth for 20Ys without shuffling or refueling. Through the core life power peaking was kept relatively low, and the fuel temperature was kept below the 1800 degree centigrade.

The Molten Salt Reactor (MSR) is one of the six GENIV systems capable of breading and burning. In this paper, a graphite-moderated channel type MSR was selected for conceptual research. For this MSR, a ternary system of 0.15LiF-0.58NaF-0.27BeF2 was proposed as the reactor fuel solvent, coolant and also moderator simultaneously with ca.1 mol% UF4 dissolving in it, which circulates through the whole primary loop accompanying fission reaction only in the core. 169 hexagonal graphite elements, each with a central fuel channel, are arranged in the core symmetrically by 30° angles. The theoretical models of the thermal hydraulics under steady condition are conducted in one-twelfth of the core and calculated by the numerical method. The DRAGON code is adopted to calculate the axial and radial power factors. The flow and heat transfer models in the fuel salt and graphite are founded basing on the fundamental mass, momentum and energy equations. The calculated results show the detailed mass flow distribution in the core; and the temperature of the fuel salt, inner and outer wall in the calculated elements along the axial direction are also obtained.

SuperCritical Water-cooled nuclear Reactor (SCWR) is one of the six nuclear-reactor concepts being developed under the Generation IV International Forum (GIF) initiative. A generic 1200-MWel pressure-channel SCWR operates at a pressure of 25 MPa with coolant inlet and outlet temperatures of 350°C and 625°C, respectively. High coolant outlet temperature allows for high thermal efficiencies within the range of 45–50%. On the other hand, the high operating temperature of SCWR in turn results in high fuel centerline and sheath temperatures. Hence, it is necessary to determine a power distribution inside a core of a reactor in order to ensure that a fuel and a fuel-bundle design comply with their corresponding temperature limits. The main objective of this paper is to determine a power distribution inside the core of a generic SCWR by using a lattice code DRAGON and a diffusion code DONJON. As a result of these calculations, heat-flux profiles in all fuel channels were determined. Consequently, the heat-flux profile in a channel with the maximum thermal power was used as an input into a thermalhydraulic code, which was developed in MATLAB in order to calculate a fuel centerline temperature of UO2 and UC nuclear fuels and a sheath temperature of a new fuel-bundle design. Results of this analysis showed that the fuel centerline temperature of the UC fuel was significantly lower than that of the UO2. This paper also proposes four energy groups for further neutronic studies related to SCWRs.

Molten salt reactors (MSRs) have seen a marked resurgence of interest over the past few decades, highlighted by their inclusion as one of the six Generation IV reactor types. The MSRs are characterized by using the fluid-fuel, so that their technologies are fundamentally different from those used in the conventional solid-fuel reactors. In this paper, the attention is focused on the behaviors of a MSR in the presence of localized perturbations caused by fissile precipitates. A neutron kinetic model considering the fuel salt flow is established based on the neutron diffusion theory, which consists of two-group neutron diffusion equations for the fast and thermal neutron fluxes and six-group balance equations for delayed neutron precursors, and the group constants dependent on the temperature are calculated by the code DRAGON. In addition, the k-epsilon turbulent model is adopted to establish the flow and heat transfer. The thermo-hydraulic and neutronic models which are coupled through the temperature, heat source and velocity are coded in a program. The effects of the localized perturbation on the distributions of power, temperature, neutron fluxes and delayed neutron precursors are obtained and discussed in detail. The results provide some valuable information for the research and design of this new generation reactor.
