Resumo:

On the initiative of the research office of the non-profit SMartBe Professional Association for Creative Professions, an exploratory survey into the current socio-economic circumstances of comics authors and illustrators in Belgium has been undertaken for the first time. The replies of 191 French-speaking and 72 Dutch-speaking artists to the online questionnaire have given an idea of the profile of comics authors and illustrators in Belgium (in terms of gender, age, place of residence, educational background), their professional activities and the type of publications in which their work appears, and their employment status and income. The results show that, in general, their monthly income falls below the Belgian median, and that many artists, particularly in the younger age range, are reliant on supplementing their earnings from other sources. A number of differences emerged between the situation of French-speaking and Dutch-speaking artists. The role of creative grants (especially subsidies from the government) is shown to be crucial.

Resumo:

Den globale interessen for nordområdene 5 er knyttet til store muligheter for forskjellig næringsvirksomhet. Samtidig er det utfordringer knyttet til å skape økonomisk vekst og arbeidsplasser i nord som også tar hensyn til miljø og samfunn, og at veksten skjer på en måte som sikrer livskvalitet i lokalbefolkningen og skaper levedyktige lokalsamfunn. For å sikre vekst som samtidig sikrer bærekraft, har en utforsket om såkalt smarte byer eller smarte kommuner i nordområdene kan være en mulig vei til utvikling. Smartby er et globalt konsept som handler om digitalisering og teknologi for byutvikling, og at denne utviklingen skjer for og med innbyggere i fokus. Likevel er det få studier som undersøker nærmere om det finnes smartby-initiativer, og på hvilken måte de er implementert i kraft av dialog med innbyggere i forskjellige kontekster, for eksempel i nordområdene. Denne artikkelen analyserer status for smartby-utviklingen i nordområdene med hensyn til samhandling med innbyggerne basert på hvordan innbyggerinvolvering er presentert i mediene. Vi avrunder med å argumentere for at det må iverksettes flere medborgerinitiativer med et bærekraftig perspektiv for smartbyene i nordområdene.

Der volle Funktionsumfang eines modernen Feldgeräts korreliert mit mehreren hundert Geräteparametern. Für eine schnelle Inbetriebnahme eines Geräts ist diese Vielzahl an Parametern aber meist nicht erforderlich, für die notwendigen Basisfunktionen des Feldgeräts reichen einige wenige aus. Diese werden im Beitrag als Ergebnis eines Namur- Ad-hoc-Arbeitskreises identifiziert und als Namur-Standardgeräteparameter bezeichnet. Weiterhin wird vorgeschlagen diese Festlegungen der Standardgeräteparameter im Rahmen der Umsetzung der Geräteintegrationstechnologie FDI für alle Feldgeräte in einheitlicher Form als Teil der FDI Device Packages zu verwenden. Ferner werden die Möglichkeiten diskutiert, wie die verfügbare Sensorinformation übertragen und in die Leittechnik beziehungsweise Hostsysteme integriert werden kann. Dazu werden aktuelle Entwicklungen im Bereich Übertragungstechnologien diskutiert und Erwartungen formuliert. Bei der Geräteintegration wird ebenso der aktuelle Status in Bezug auf FDI als Geräteintegrationstechnologie dargestellt und wichtige Erfolgsfaktoren für die Akzeptanz der Technologie werden aus Anwendersicht definiert.

Resumo:

Mit der Smart-City-Vision wird die Hoffnung verbunden, drängende ökologische, ökonomische und soziale Krisen in Städten zu überwinden und in eine ressourcenschonende und lebenswerte Stadt der Zukunft überzuleiten. Dabei fällt auf, dass Smart-City-Initiativen gezielt Kinder und junge Menschen adressieren. Anknüpfend an Ansätze der Gouvernementalitäts- und geographischen Kindheitsforschung gehen wir der Frage nach, wie die nahezu unhinterfragten Glaubenssätze einer von Innovationsoptimismus geprägten Stadt Vorstellungen von Kindheit verändern und ihre gesellschaftliche Inwertsetzung vorantreiben. Wir untersuchen erstens diskursanalytisch, wie Smart-City-Leuchtturmprojekte der EU in die Alltagswelten von Kindern investieren und diese als Experimentierfelder smarter Stadtentwicklung nutzen. Am Beispiel einer Fallstudie des Smart-City-Projektgebiets Wien-Simmering diskutieren wir zweitens, wie der smarte Stadtumbau auf das Alltagsleben von Kindern und Jugendlichen Einfluss nimmt und ihre Bedürfnisse be- und aufgreift. Unsere Ergebnisse zeigen, dass junge Menschen als smarte Bürger_innen in die Pflicht genommen werden, stadtentwicklungspolitische Zielsetzungen mitzutragen und entsprechende Handlungsweisen in ihren Alltag zu implementieren. Dies schafft neue Abhängigkeitsverhältnisse, die kritisch betrachtet werden müssen.

Angesichts der stetig steigenden Umsätze im Kabelgeschäft hat die U. I. Lapp GmbH ihr neues Distributionszentrum in Hannover eröffnet. Die Ausstattung, wie Regalsysteme samt Flurförderzeuge, wurde vom Intralogistikexperten Still geplant, installiert und in Betrieb genommen. Außerdem ergänzt ein funkbasiertes Sicherheitssystem zur Kollisionsvermeidung die weiteren Fahrerassistenzsysteme von Still, zum Beispiel die Active Floor Compensation (AFC) zum Ausgleich von Bodenunebenheiten oder das Warnzonenlicht für Flurförderzeuge als visuelle Warnung für Personen im Gefahrenbereich.

Resumo:

With improved HCV therapy, challenges regarding HCV diagnosis, such as seronegative window period, false positive readings, and differentiation between recent, chronic, and resolved infections, are of increasing importance. To address these challenges an innovative device—SMARTube HIV & HCV—was used. Blood samples were tested for anti-HCV antibodies before and after incubation in the SMARTube, which promotes thein vitrostimulation ofin vivoHCV primed lymphocytes, thus enhancing levels of anti-HCV antibodies. Comparing antibody levels, in concordant samples before and after SMARTube, yielded the Stimulation Index (SI). Among 5888 fresh blood samples, from various populations and regions worldwide, 641 were seropositive using plasma, while SMARTube processing (yielding enriched plasma, termed SMARTplasma) enabled diagnosis of 10 additional carriers in high-risk cohorts, that is, earlier detection. Using SMARTplasma eliminated all false positive results, using the current assays. In addition we show that SI calculation may serve as an important tool for differentiating between those who recently seroconverted, carriers of long-term infection, and those who have cleared the virus. SMARTube and the SI could lead to better, more informative diagnosis of HCV infections and play an important role in changing the way we treat both the infected individuals and the epidemic as a whole.

Garra is the most species-rich genus of freshwater fishes in the Arabian Peninsula, including Oman, which has eight recognized, species restricted mainly to the Hajar and Dhofar mountains. Garra species from the Dhofar region in Oman are reviewed based on integrated morphological and molecular (COI) data of newly collected fishes from the type localities of G. sindhae and G. smartae, and a new population from Wadi Laggashalyon. No diagnostic character was found to distinguish the two species and the Laggashalyon population as distinct taxa. Garra dunsirei, another species endemic to a sinkhole at Tawi Attair, a very difficult area to access at a depth of about 211 m, was examined here based on the GenBank data and the diagnostic characters given in the original descriptions of the studied Garra species. In addition, the phylogenetic tree placed the sequenced Omani Garra fishes into nine groups with K2P sequence divergence of 0.8% (G. smartae and G. smartae_Laggasaylon); 1.2% (G. smartae and G. sindhae), and 14.5% (G. Shamal and G. dunsirei) in their COI barcode region. A molecular species delimitation approach using PTP, also detected one entity for Garra species from the Dhofar region (G. dunsirei, G. sindhae and the both populations of G. smartae), which is consistent with our morphological data. Therefore, based on absence of diagnostic characters, low genetic distance, and molecular species delimitation approach, we treat G. sindhae and G. smartae as junior synonyms of G. dunsirei.

Resumo:

Foranlediget af en stærk politisk teknologioptimisme fremhæves ”den smarte by” ofte som en vigtig brik i den grønne omstilling i Danmark. Innovative teknologier og digitale systemer skal sikre en klimavenlig udvikling af byens bygninger og infrastrukturer. I forsøget på at realisere den smarte by fremkommer der imidlertid en diskrepans mellem de teknologiske forhåbninger og dagligdagens praktikaliteter. Derfor involveres antropologer, som ved at dokumentere menneskers måder at leve på i byen kan udvide en markant teknisk orienteret tilgang til den smarte by. Et studie af smarte byer i Øresundsregionen viser, at antropologer kan bidrage til en forståelse af forskellige positioner og interessenter i byen, hvormed en konstruktiv relation imellem borgere, lokale organisationer og centralt styrede institutioner opbygges. Med en empatisk tilgang og flersidet analyse introducerer antropologien forståelser, som hjælper med at tænke og agere på tværs af organisatoriske skel og derved giver et bedre grundlag for en bæredygtig byudvikling.

Resumo:

<p>大名鼎鼎的IBM華生(Watson)在協助醫療AI決策的領域上顯現出盲點，導致Watson Health部門因無法在臨床上有實質的突破，被迫低價出售；同時甲骨文(Oracle)公司在2021年12月以283億美元重金買下電子病歷軟體公司Cerner，以進入醫療保健資訊科技領域。以上就是國際上當智慧醫療進入戰國時期，策略截然不同的2個典型例子。</p> <p>至於臺灣智慧醫療未來的展望，從近年來智慧病房的設計與建置在國內蓬勃發展的趨勢中，可以嗅到結合國內資通訊產業的硬底子進入醫療產業的契機，再進一步結合病房內各式預警系統發展，AI預警系統可時時注意有較高風險的住院病人，提前預警使醫護人員能及時因應，保護病人安全的同時也能減輕醫護人員的負擔。</p> <p> </p><p>Renowned IBM Watson has shown blind spots in the field of artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted decision-making in healthcare, forcing its health department to be sold at a low price after failing to generate any substantial clinical breakthrough. In December 2021, Oracle Corporation acquired electronic medical records software company Cerner Corporation for US$28.3 billion, entering the industry of medical care and health information technology. Adopting completely different strategies, the aforementioned two companies serve as typical examples as the global competition of smart healthcare becomes intensified.</p> <p>The future prospects of Taiwan’s smart healthcare are detailed as follows. In recent years, the design and construction of smart wards has become prevalent in Taiwan. The trend opens up opportunities to enter the medical industry by cooperating with the domestic information and communications industry, which boasts solid foundation, to develop various types of early warning system used in wards. The AI-based early warning system provides medical attention to high-risk inpatients at all times, and early warnings enable medical staff to respond in a timely manner, which safeguards patient safety and reduces burden on medical staff.</p> <p> </p>

Resumo:

We tested physicochemical and biological properties of Smartee-Invisalign and found that it had superior light transmittance, good physical stability, and relatively unchanged tensile strength, elasticity modulus, and bending strength over time. It had good antibacterial properties and minimal toxic effects on oral cells and was thus safe to be wear. Physically, Smartee-Invisalign can correct malocclusion, and improve the patient’s chewing ability and quality of life without increasing the risk of periodontal bleeding. Mentally, it can improved patients’ psychological state, including engaging in more natural interpersonal interactions and significantly reducing depression and anxiety. Furthermore, it improved patients’ self-approval and self-aesthetics thus helping these patients to develop a healthier mental state. In conclusion, Smartee-Invisalign effectively improved the physical and mental health of patients with malocclusion.

Resumo:

Zukünftige Kommunikationsnetzwerke industrieller Anlagen müssen die Anforderungen von Industrie 4.0 in der Prozessautomatisierung bewältigen. Innovative Ansätze für Kommunikation und Funktionalität können die mit I4.0 verbundenen Potenziale nur dann ausschöpfen, wenn sie einen industriell verwertbaren Mehrwert bieten. Dieser Beitrag stellt einen Ansatz vor, der einfache Sensoren und Aktoren der Feldebene um IP-Kommunikation sowie damit verknüpfte Dienste und Funktionen erweitert. Verbunden über ein industrielles Standard-IP-Netzwerk ermöglichen derartige Konstellationen zusätzliche Überwachungsfunktionen, die zu höherer Zuverlässigkeit und Verfügbarkeit der Anlagen beitragen können.

Kennzeichnend für die Automobilindustrie sind zunehmende individuelle Wünsche der Kunden und eine Verkürzung der Konjunkturzyklen. Für Hersteller, wie die Daimler AG, führt diese Marktsituation zu hoher Variantenvielfalt und Stückzahlschwankungen. Da die Ausprägungen dieser Einflüsse weitgehend unbekannt sind, muss das Produktionssystem darauf vorbereitet sein, bedarfsgerecht angepasst zu werden. Wandlungsfähige Produktionssysteme gehören daher zu den strategischen Erfolgsgrößen für die Automobilindustrie. In diesem Beitrag wird ein modularer, skalierbarer Produktionsbaukasten vorgestellt, der Bestandteil einer Planungs- und Entwicklungsumgebung wandlungsfähiger Produktionskonzepte ist. Die hierfür genutzte grenzwerttheoretische Entwicklungsmethodik wird erläutert und die Skalierungsmöglichkeiten des Produktionsbaukastens mit Hilfe neuer Produktionstechnologien betrachtet. Dabei zeichnet sich die Mensch-Roboter-Kooperation (MRK) als wesentlicher Bestandteil wandlungsfähiger Produktionskonzepte ab. Smarte Produktionsassistenten sind intelligente und sichere Roboterapplikationen, die sich als Möglichkeit hervortun, die MRK als Schlüsseltechnologie in industriellen Anwendungen zu realisieren.
