Glagah Beach is one of the tourist attractions in Kulon Progo Regency which has the highest number of touristsHowever, there are still several problems in developing the tourism potential of Glagah Beach, namely the lack of adequate facilities, the lack of sports tourism on Glagah Beach, and the maintenance of tourism on Glagah Beach is still not optimal. The purpose of this research is to identify the tourism potential of Glagah Beach as a leading tourist spot in Kulon Progo Regency. In this study using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through library research in the form of research documents, journal publications, and website government. The results of the study concluded that the potential of Glagah Beach is not only natural resources, but also social, economic and cultural potential. Supporting factors in the development of tourism potential at Glagah Beach consist of culinary tourism and cultural tourism. While the inhibiting factors in the development of tourism potential at Glagah Beach are the lack of public awareness, the creation of slum beaches due to unmaintained facilities, and the provision of inadequate facilities. Therefore, the strong commitment from various parties through good collaboration from the government, private sector, NGOs, and the community are important to increase the potential of Glagah Beach.

InInstitutional Dream Series (Sleeping in Public), 1972–73, Laurie Anderson slept in eight different public places in order to measure their institutional impression. In her experiment Anderson used dreams—ostensibly her own—“to see if the place can color or control my dreams.” The short answer was—yes.Institutional Dream Seriesis an exploration of the self as medium. In sleeping and recording her sleep on the beach at Coney Island, in the halls of night court, at the bureau of immigration and naturalization, and in the women's bathroom at Columbia University Library, Anderson's performance suggests that vulnerability to bureaucratic structures and organizational schemes is not something to be avoided but studied. For there is pleasure, fear, and wisdom to be found in such exposure.

ABSTRACT A high biomasses of Cladophora, a filamentous green alga, is found mainly during the summer along the shores of Lake Michigan. In this study, the abundance and persistence of the fecal indicator bacterium Escherichia coli and sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) on Cladophora mats collected at Lake Michigan beaches were evaluated using both culture-based and molecular analyses. Additionally, 16S rRNA gene cloning and sequencing were used to examine the bacterial community composition. Overall, E. coli was detected in all 63 samples obtained from 11 sites, and the average levels at most beaches ranged from 2,700 CFU/100 g (wet weight) of Cladophora to 7,500 CFU/100 g of Cladophora. However, three beaches were found to have site average E. coli densities of 12,800, 21,130, and 27,950 CFU/100 g of Cladophora. The E. coli levels in the lake water collected at the same time from these three sites were less than the recommended U.S. Environmental Protection Agency limit, 235 CFU/100 ml. E. coli also persisted on Cladophora mats in microcosms at room temperature for more than 7 days, and in some experiments it persisted for as long as 28 days. The SRB densities on Cladophora mats were relatively high, ranging from 4.4 × 106 cells/g (6.64 log CFU/g) to 5.73 × 106 cells/g (6.76 log CFU/g) and accounting for between 20% and 27% of the total bacterial counts. Partial sequences of the 16S rRNA gene clones revealed a phylogenetically diverse community, in which the Cytophaga-Flavobacterium-Bacteroides cluster and the low-G+C-content gram-positive bacteria were the dominant organisms, accounting for 40% and 12.8%, respectively, of the total clone library. These results further reveal the potential public health and ecological significance of Cladophora mats that are commonly found along the shoreline of Lake Michigan, especially with regard to the potential to harbor microorganisms associated with fecal pollution and odor-causing bacteria.

The aim of this research is to analyze the strategy of the Paris, Youth and Sports Center in increasing travel visits to the Western Cape and factors of slavery and influence that affect the development of coastal travel objects in increasing the standard of living in the Western Cape. The method used in this study is qualitative with data collection techniques of library studies. As for the discovery of this research, the strategy of the Pariwisata, Youth and Sports Center in increasing the travel visit to the Western Cape is not yet maximum, can be seen from visits to the Western Cape is still very low. In 2010 there were 345,311 tourists, in 2011 there were 311,777, in 2012 there were 325,063, in 2013 there were 335,295, in 2014 there were 348,765, and in 2015 there were 285,824. That's a very low number, considering the West Bank is an area with lots of different travel objects. Factors that hinder the development of coastal travel objects in increasing the standard of living in the Western Cape Town, namely that the policies of the Western Cape Town government have not yet damaged the development programme of society, not just as much as the sovereignty of public art, but the development of the creative economy of society, - so that opportunities can be created to work and work in society. Another factor is that the facilities around the beach are unsuitable and not maximum to extend the facilities that should be in the tourist area.

The purpose of this Coastal and Hydraulics Engineering Technical Note (CHETN) is to introduce an Esri ArcGIS Pro ArcPy Toolbox entitled “Representative Beach Profile Generator (RBPG)” that generates a single representative profile for a given study area based on elevation profiles. The toolbox aligns and averages input elevation profiles into a single profile based upon a chosen alignment feature. Furthermore, the toolbox allows the user to create maximum and minimum trapezoidal profile approximations for use within numerical models such as Storm-Induced BEAch CHange (SBEACH) and Beach-fx. This CHETN presents a brief description of the toolbox methods and includes a short demonstration of the toolbox’s application to help familiarize the user with inputs, outputs, and possible uses. The RBPG toolbox is available for public download at the link where this paper is hosted with the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center library services (library link will be inserted here).
