Profibus and CAN bus are two kinds of widely used field bus in the industrial control field. However, this two bus protocol conversion devices are not introduced on the market, it can not meet the needs of users. Therefore, the design of a Profibus and CAN protocol translation ngateway is very important. By comparing the OSI reference model, the same points of Profibus and CAN bus can be found, their communication model structure is streamlined by the OSI model, they are only three layers, which makes it possible to interconnect them. This paper designs an embedded protocol conversion gateway, S3C2410 processor is used as main controller, SPC3 and SJA1000 are selected as Profibus and CAN protocol chips. The design has realized Profibus and CAN bus protocol conversion, using this gateway in industrial field can bring certain economic benefits for the enterprise.

his paper provides a method for the communication between PLC and IPC using Profibus-DP bus. It introduces the setting steps on the software Simatic and Labview. Using EM277, S7-200 can communicate with S7-300.And based on OPC technology, Labview can send and receive control message to S7-300.Profibus-DP bus can quickly delivers control digitals from Labview to S7-200.And this system is used in some space project, and have good results.

MAC protocol of bus control network has important influence on its real-time feature. Combining Profibus-DP protocol and Token Bus protocol, a new bus model suitable for small-scaled control system is put forward. Under the principle that follows a control network whole balance, the LAS and GAPL maintenance process in token passing mode and master-slave polling process in data exchange mode of Profibus-DP are discarded. The basic cutting thought of this bus model is summarized; its concrete realization is illustrated in detail, theoretical maximal value of message transmission time and actual test result are presented. The experiment result shows the system’s real-time characteristic is improved, and come to the expectant result.

It is described in detail how to develop the intelligent instrument system through connecting bus-bridge of PROFIBUS with single-chip microcomputer system of users, changing the traditional PLC-control into the data-bus control in limekiln electrical control system. This paper focuses on the development of hardware of the accompanies-station of PROFIBUS-DP, the model for user, and software design. About 400,000 dollars per each were saved and the ease of operation and the robust of control have been also improved dramatically after novel development.

With the application of digital information technology and communication technology, industrial intelligence and integration also began to develop rapidly, and the importance of the research on bus communication in industrial control communication also increased. As the first international bus standard, PROFIBUS has been widely used in the field of industrial control; in recent years, it was mainly used to connect devices to the control layer and convert data through token transmission. Based on the understanding of the transmission mechanism of PROFIBUS fieldbus protocol, this article carries out a simulation study on its communication performance. Through analysis of the data link layer, changing the target token cycle time (high and low priority) and random setting each site message number, as well as the number of master station and slave station, how the main token latency and packet loss rate and efficiency of bus affect the change of performance parameters was observed. For multiple communication systems, the relationship between the address value on the main token ring and transport performance is found by experiments on the site address value on the main token ring and the target token cycle time value. Finally, the scheduling algorithm is applied to the communication scheduling of PROFIBUS fieldbus. The results confirm that the scheduling algorithm has better transmission efficiency than the traditional MAC media access protocol under the condition that the load rate does not exceed 100%, which makes up for the shortcomings of the original PROFIBUS bus system and makes the communication performance better.

Traditional elevator indicators have been improved for traditional elevator indicators with strict communication requirements, high communication costs, and unsuitable for fieldbus-guided industrial production. That is, the PROFIBUS-DP interface is developed for the traditional hoist multi-level indicator, and the bus bridge is used to complete the communication protocol conversion during the data transmission process, so that it can be added to the field bus production system. This paper deals with the design of the multi-level indicator hardware circuit of the hoist with PROFIBUS-DP interface and the design of the software circuit. Finally, the system test platform was built to verify that the hoist indicator structure is simple and reliable.

A safety network system is designed based on PROFIBUS-DP field bus, according to actual servicing work situation and control requirements for electric locomotive servicing work. The system realizes communication between first class master station and third equipment through using PROFIBUS-DP bus protocol. It also realizes interactive operation between slave station and non-contact IC card, meanwhile, slave station and MCU system. In addition, this article has analyzed the multi-task scheduling mechanism and data communication security on monitoring network system in detail as well. Results show that the system has higher application value through entire debugging and testing on network control system.

This article describes a solution of the Profibus-DP bus system of intelligent circuit breaker based on introduction of Profibus fieldbus. The design of hardware and software of intelligent slave station interface based on intelligent communication chip SPC3 was intrduced in detail, at the same time, master and slave station are combined adjusting. The experimental results proved that the system could be worked properly.

In industrial control systems (ICSs), the PROFIBUS-DP (decentralized peripherals) protocol is widely used for communication between devices. Because PROFIBUS-DP is an unencrypted and insecure bus protocol, attackers can connect to the PROFIBUS-DP system and arbitrarily manipulate I/O process values, which may interrupt the normal operation of industrial equipment, or have more serious consequences. However, due to the complex structures of bus networks and the large number of attack areas, the existing scheme does not monitor all the messages in the industrial head office network and cannot effectively detect semantic attacks. To solve this problem, we propose a novel attack detection system DpGuard. DpGuard automatically builds a finite-state machine model of normal ICS behavior through a large number of historical ICS traffic data. The model includes state events, state transitions, state transition probability, and other normal behavior information. In addition, DpGuard records the execution status of the context data package, uses the real-time captured data package as the input of the model, and judges whether the state event and state transition probability conform to the constraints of the finite-state machine model, so as to identify the legitimate normal behavior of the ICS. Our proposal was evaluated using two Siemens PLCs (programmable logic controllers) deployed on the PROFIBUS-DP system. The experimental results demonstrated that the scheme could accurately detect fault injection and semantic attacks. Compared with other detection models, our scheme presented an improved detection performance, with a detection accuracy of 99.80%.

It is necessary to do research to replace the profit bus and contactor components on a 110 ton Fine Blanking machine at PT. XYZ to analyze the cost and time needed to replace the profibus and contactor components. The aim of the research is to obtain the replacement time for profibus components and contactors, to obtain the cost and replacement time needed to replace profibus components and contactors. Through the distribution suitability test with the Kolmogorov Smirnov method, it was found that the time between failures of the profibus components corresponds to the Weibull distribution with an average replacement time of 29.54 days with a reliability of 47%. The contactor components are in accordance with the Weibull distribution with an average replacement time of 30.42 days with a reliability of 46%. The average repair time required for each profibus component replacement on a 1100 ton Fine Blanking machine is 3.85 minutes. Contactor on a 1100 ton Fine Blanking machine for 24.75 minutes. The cost required for each replacement of the Profibus component is IDR 1,250,000. For the contactor component on the 1100 ton Fine Blanking machine, IDR 650,000.

Touch screen is monitoring equipment used in industrial field, whose applications in industrial control will be more and more widely. With the continuous development of PC technology, the traditional man-machine interface will gradually be replaced by the man-machine interface as touch screen and so on. This paper studies structure and function of modular production system (MPS). It emphasizes on how MPS is reformed based on EV touch screen configuration and PROFIBUS-DP Field Bus. S7-300PLC as master communications with S7-200 PLCS through PROFIBUS-DP Field Bus and touch screen communications with S7-300PLC through the MPI adapter constitutes a control network. The touch screen is configured by EV5000 Configuration software, to complete the dynamic process monitoring of MPS system module, and improve the monitoring software so that it will have a simple user login management, production management, production information display and alarm functions.

A general embedded remote monitoring system for industrial equipment has been designed based on Field Bus Technology and Internet Technology. The Field Bus includes PROFIBUS, CAN, RS-485 and RS-232. The data of the device controlled in the system can be detected and transmitted to PC via Internet. Upper monitor in the system is remote PC. Console computer, which can communicate with industrial equipment controller by Field Bus, is the controller of field data acquisition unit. Two working modes can be realized in the system. One is the data of operating status, which is gotten by Field Bus before transferred to PC. The other is the data of operating status, which is detected by field data acquisition unit in remote monitoring system. Maintenance and management becomes convenient after applying the remote monitoring system.

In order to improve the manual monitoring methods of the circulating water in calcium carbide furnace, this paper designs a pressure loss alarm system about circulating water of calcium carbide furnace. The system completes real-time automation and control of circulating water system by combining PLC technology, field bus communication technology and configuration technology, which uses PROFIBUS field bus to communicate between upper computer and lower computer. The practical application shows that this system can effectively achieve real-time monitoring of the circulating water, fault diagnosis and maintenance management.

This article focuses on field bus technology, a digital two-way conul1unications protocol. It is designed to take advantage of intelligent instrumentation equipped with microprocessors to communicate between the field and the control room. Because it can communicate large quantities of data from the field devices, industrial networks tying together field bus instruments open the way for complex control and automation tasks. As field bus evolves, some think that computer networking will play an increasingly important role and improve the performance in the plant. Both Profibus and Fieldbus Foundation provide for Ethernet capability. Wireless communication is also likely to play a potential role in field bus systems. There is a potential for wireless in data acquisition. Issues still needed to be worked out: electrical storms can interfere with communications and wires must be strung to power the devices.

This paper focused on the same bottom set of field devices, and designed two kinds of field-bus control system, one is PROFIBUS, and another is the Interbus. Applied the OPC technology to realize the information exchange between two bus systems, and applied the PC configuration software, to monitor equipments on the spot. The whole monitoring system included the monitoring program and OPC server program. The monitoring program is no longer included with the specific hardware communication part. The communication monitoring program and hardware are realized by OPC server software, when the system needs to be modified, only need to modify the OPC corresponding part. If the system needs to expand and communicate with the outside world, just need to expand the OPC. After many times field operation, proved the monitoring system of two OPC bus technologies was stable, reliable, and timely control reaction.

An automatic control system is developed for a rolling shear line in this paper in order to overcome the weakness of the traditional control system. All of motion mechanisms are driven by alternating current motors. The S7-300 PLC is selected as the control unit. And the PROFIBUS-DP field bus is employed to structure a distributed control system. Automatic cutting to length is realized. The rolling shear line has some merits such as high efficiency and precision, low cost and energy consummation ensured by the control system. The control system is reliable and flexible.

El artículo presenta el desarrollo de una aplicación de interconexión entre los protocolos Profibus e IPv4, pretendiendo implementar un bus de campo tipo PA sin seguridad intrínseca y que sea monitoreado desde Internet mediante un servicio web llamado ThingSpeak, el cual sirve como base para la elaboración del estudio concerniente a los protocolos enunciados al inicio, apreciando las limitaciones de los sistemas industriales y sus tendencias hacia el futuro, donde llegarán a fusionarse con el protocolo Ethernet, dando origen a nueva generación de la estandarización de buses de campo.

Ship loader is one of the most key equipments for bulk material handing in bulk port. This paper regards the ship loader as the study object, introduces an auto detection technology of cabin position and material distribution, and advances a new control measure for automation loading. The field-bus technology of Profibus, AC800M series PLC, inverter, encoder was adopted to build automatic control system. In the mean time, the control code and the ship loader Management System, which is written in Control Builder for AC800M and Visual Basic independently, are used to actual ship loading process without people.

This paper introduces an aquaculture multi-parameter monitoring system. The hardware structure of the system is introduced, the software design of the system is described in detail and the flow charts of the key functions are presented. By using the Profibus-DP field bus, more monitoring stations are joined together to constitute a distributed monitoring and controlling network, which has functions like accurate signal collecting, real-time signal analyzing and processing and automatic alarm. The system can not only improve the accuracy and stability of parameter monitoring, but also enlarge the monitoring range, convenient the water environment monitoring and managing, reduce the cost of equipment and production. It can apply to the large aquaculture enterprises.

In order to solve the problems of high lubricating oil temperature, fast aging of seals and serious wear of parts during high-speed operation of equipment, a lubricating oil circulation refrigeration system for cigarette machine was designed. The system uses PLC as the main controller, and controls the motor speed through Profibus bus mode to realize the circulating refrigeration of lubricating oil. Through the test with ZJ112 unit as the object,we found that the system runs well and the failure rate is low. The temperature of each lubricating part of the equipment is significantly reduced and kept below 40 ˚C. At the same time, the maintenance time of the equipment is reduced, and the occurrence of cigarette quality accidents is reduced. This technology can provide support for improving the production adaptability of cigarette units.

Secondly, according to the operational needs of the belt scale system, the external memory circuit and the TFT-LCD touch screen circuit modules were studied. Finally, the high-speed circuit board PCB designed to solve EMC problems. And it described the data collection and weighing controller bus communication test situation and established the communications test platform of Profibus-DP, introduced the test experimental procedures, experiment shows the communication between master and slave test results are correct.The computing speed and accuracy, data processing compared with traditional electronic belt scale, information exchange, integration, reliability and stability will be greatly improved by the advanced embedded technology and so on.

Toad Venom (TV) is the dried product of toxic secretions from Bufo bufo gargarizans Cantor (BgC) or B. melanostictus Schneider (BmS). Given the increasing medical demand and the severe depletion of wild toads, a number of counterfeit TVs appeared on the market, posing challenges to its quality control. In order to develop an efficient, feasible, and comprehensive approach to evaluate TV quality, a thorough analysis and comparison of chemical compounds among legal species BgC and BmS, as well as the main confusion species B. andrewsi Schmidt (BaS) and B. raddei Strauch (BrS), were conducted by ultra-performance liquid chromatography–quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF/MS), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), sodium dodecylsulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), and Nano LC-MS/MS analyses. We identified 126 compounds, including free or conjugated bufadienolides, indole alkaloids and amino acids, among the four Bufo species. The content of main bufadienolides, such as gamabufotalin, bufotalin, bufalin, cinobufagin, and resibufogenin, and the total protein contents varied widely among 28 batches of TV due to their origin species. The sum of the five bufadienolides within the BgC, BmS, BaS, and BrS samples were 8.15–15.93%, 2.45–4.14%, 11.15–13.50%, and 13.21–14.68%, respectively. The total protein content of BgC (6.9–24.4%) and BaS (19.1–20.6%) samples were higher than that of BmS (4.8–20.4%) and BrS (10.1–13.7%) samples. Additionally, a total of 1357 proteins were identified. There were differences between the protein compositions among the samples of the four Bufo species. The results indicated that BgC TV is of the highest quality; BaS and BrS TV could serve as alternative resources, whereas BmS TV performed poorly overall. This research provides evidence for developing approaches to evaluate TV quality and selecting the proper Bufo species as the origin source of TV listed in the Chinese pharmacopoeia.

Die Standardisierungsarbeiten und die Umsetzung des Profils in den Zertifizierungsprozess wurden 2009 in der Profibus Nutzer Organisation (PNO) erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Nun sollten - vom Standpunkt der Anwender aus gesehen - praxisrelevante Tests die Umsetzung und die Auswirkungen der neuen Funktionalitäten in den im Markt verfügbaren Feldgeräten und Hostsystemen aufzeigen. Der textdata beschreibt, wie erstmals herstellerunabhängig Feldgeräte im Prüflabor von BIS Prozesstechnik in Frankfurt am Main auf die Funktionalität des PA-Profils 3.02 hin getestet wurden.

Substance use disorders (SUDs) and Cluster B personality disorders (PDs) may have shared risk through profiles of personality and motivational traits. The present study sought to replicate in a national sample of adults past research which found multi-trait profiles that were associated with disinhibitory disorders in a college sample. Another aim was to test whether gender differences in the prevalence of disinhibitory disorders are attributable to underlying differences in personality-based risk. Cluster analysis was used to identify multi-trait profiles from impulsivity, constraint, negative emotionality, behavioral activation system (BAS), and behavioral inhibition system (BIS) scale scores. Analyses yielded similar multi-trait profiles to those found in past research, including a “disinhibited” profile with high impulsivity, high BAS, and low constraint, as well as a “high affectivity/impulsive” profile with high negative emotionality, impulsivity, BAS, and BIS. These profiles were associated with elevated drug problems and Cluster B PD features. Results support the validity these trait profiles and their association with disinhibitory psychopathology. Gender was associated with some, but not all, disinhibitory disorders while controlling for cluster membership, suggesting that multi-trait personality clusters may represent a more proximal risk factor than gender for certain disinhibitory disorders.

Battery electric buses are used for operation on urban bus routes. The main disadvantage of battery electric buses is their limited range that depends on energy consumption. This paper presents a new approach to the estimation of energy consumption on urban bus routes based on driving and energy profiles. The energy consumption results from the travel parameters along the bus route. The travel parameters are described by driving profiles. The determination of driving profiles is based on GPS location data recorded by a receiver on a bus. Location data are recorded at consecutive track points at a constant frequency. For each track point, the distance to the preceding track point is determined using the location data, and then the speed and acceleration are calculated. The analyzed bus route is divided into sections. For each section, travel parameters consisting of travel time, speed parameters, and acceleration parameters are determined. Using travel parameters, the energy consumption is estimated for individual sections and the entire bus route. The estimated energy consumption is described by energy profiles. Experimental results have been obtained for the selected urban bus route under various traffic conditions. For the assumed model of energy consumption, the energy consumed on the entire bus route is 1.8 KWh/km at off-peak hours and 2.1 KWh/km at peak hours. The driving and energy profiles describe the urban bus routes well and allow evaluation of the suitability of the bus route for operation with battery electric buses.

Certain personality and motivational traits may present vulnerability towards disinhibitory psychopathology (e.g. antisocial personality disorder, substance abuse). Cluster analysis was used to separately group 306 women and 274 men on impulsivity, Constraint, Negative Emotionality, behavioural activation system (BAS), and behavioural inhibition system (BIS) scores. As expected, a ‘disinhibited’ group with low Constraint, high impulsivity, weak BIS, and strong BAS emerged that showed elevated drug use problems, and histrionic and antisocial personality disorder features across gender. A ‘high affectivity’ group with high Negative Emotionality and strong BIS also showed elevated drug use problems and personality disorder features. Results suggested that two different trait profiles are associated with disinhibitory psychopathology and both may present vulnerability toward the development of such disorders. Abstract STUDIES ASSESSING SENSITIVITY TO ENVIRONMENTAL STIMULI INDICATE THAT SUBJECTS WITH BINGE EATING DISORDER (BED) ARE MORE PRONE TO REACT TO STRESSFUL SITUATIONS, AND MORE WILLING TO PURSUE IMMEDIATE REWARDS IN COMPARISON TO SUBJECTS WITHOUT BED. UNPREDICTABILITY OF FAMILY RESOURCES RELEVANT TO CHILD DEVELOPMENT INCREASES THE CHANCES OF EXTERNALIZING BEHAVIORS IN CHILDHOOD AND, COUPLED WITH PERSONALITY PROFILES LINKED TO BED, MAY INCREASE THE ODDS OF MANIFESTING BINGE EATING (BE) IN ADULTHOOD. THIS STUDY AIMED TO INVESTIGATE WHETHER PERSONALITY AND UNPREDICTABILITY OF RESOURCES INTERACT TO PREDICT BE SYMPTOMS IN YOUNG ADULTS, EVEN BEFORE THE ONSET OF OBESITY. THE SAMPLE CONSISTED OF 257 ADULTS (AGES 20.73 ± 1.78 YEARS, MEAN ± SD), MOSTLY WHITE (N = 233), UNDERGRADUATES (N = 236), AND WITH A BMI OF 21.84 ± 1.68 KG/M². PERSONALITY WAS STUDIED USING THE BIS AND BAS SCALES THAT ASSESS, RESPECTIVELY, AVOIDANCE OF AVERSIVE STIMULI AND CONFLICT SITUATIONS, AND APPROACH TO AND DESIRE OF REWARD STIMULI. UNPREDICTABILITY OF NURTURE AND CARE, FINANCIAL RESOURCES, AND MEAL AVAILABILITY WERE ASSESSED USING THE FAMILY UNPREDICTABILITY SCALE (FU). BE SYMPTOMS WERE ASSESSED USING THE BINGE EATING SCALE (BES). A PATH ANALYSIS MODEL WAS USED TO ANALYZE THE DATA. PERSONALITY FACTORS WERE TREATED AS PRINCIPAL PREDICTORS, FU AS MEDIATORS, AND BE SYMPTOMS AS THE DEPENDENT/OUTCOME VARIABLE. GENDER, BMI, AND SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS WERE INCLUDED IN THE MODEL AS COVARIATES. AN EXCELLENT MODEL FIT WAS OBTAINED, [χ² (31) = 26.588, P = 0.692; RMSEA < 0.01; CFI = 1.000; TFI = 1.041], AND THE FINAL MODEL EXPLAINED 20.1% OF BE VARIANCE. THE POSITIVE EFFECTS OVER BE VARIANCE SUGGEST THAT FEMALE PARTICIPANTS (β = 0.180) WITH A HIGHER TENDENCY TO SEEK FOR IMMEDIATE REWARDS (BAS SUBSCALE, β = 0.205) AND AVOID CONFLICT SITUATIONS (BIS SCALE, β = 0.304), AND WITH A BMI CLOSER TO 25 KG/M² (β = 0.130) SCORED HIGHER IN BES. ONLY ONE FU FACTOR WAS RELATED TO BE, WITH MARGINAL SIGNIFICANT RESULTS (NURTURE AND CARE, β = 0.145, P = 0.056). HIGHER POSITIVE REACTIONS TO BRIEF REWARDS - ANOTHER BAS SUBSCALE - WERE NEGATIVELY (β = − 0.123) RELATED TO BE SYMPTOMS, REPRESENTING A PROTECTIVE FACTOR. THE OBSERVED EFFECTS OF PERSONALITY AND GENDER ARE CONSONANT WITH THE AFFECT REGULATION THEORY OF EATING DISORDERS, AS BE MIGHT BE AN IMPULSIVE STRATEGY TO REGULATE EMOTION IN FEMALE PATIENTS WITH GENETICALLY INFLUENCED PERSONALITY TRAITS LINKED TO STRESS VULNERABILITY AND REWARD SENSITIVITY. RESPONSIVENESS TO BRIEF REWARDS IS A PROTECTIVE FACTOR FOR DEPRESSIVE SYMPTOMS LINKED ALSO TO HEALTHY BEHAVIORS, AND IT MAY HELP PATIENTS TO PLAN AND ENGAGE IN STRATEGIES TO PREVENT BE. LONGITUDINAL MONITORING OF THESE PARTICIPANTS MAY ANSWER WHETHER PERSONALITY PROFILES IMPACT WEIGHT GAIN AND ADHERENCE TO WEIGHT REDUCTION INTERVENTIONS IN THE FUTURE.

Pricing directly affects the sustainable development of the flexible bus service. This study proposes a profit maximization model and a social welfare maximization model for the flexible bus operator based on the cumulative prospect theory. Fares and uncertain travel time due to unforeseen detours in serving passengers jointly affect passengers’ mode choice. On the other hand, fares and passengers’ probabilistic choices over the flexible bus jointly determine the profits of the flexible bus company and social welfare. This study explores the relationship between the probability of passengers choosing the flexible bus, trip fares, and uncertain travel time. Serving more passengers indicates more profits, which also results in longer detour time thus decreasing the probability of passengers choosing the flexible bus. Considering the interactive influence among passengers, we further calculate the detour time distribution. Finally, a pricing model is established to compensate for the side effects of the detour. The results show that heterogeneous fares can help the flexible bus company to obtain higher profits but have negligible influence on social welfare. In addition, the development of long-distance services and regulations over the detour time can also help to obtain more profits.

SummaryBovine embryos produced in vivo and in vitro differ with respect to molecular profiles, including epigenetic marks and gene expression profiles. This study investigated the CpG methylation status in bovine testis satellite I (BTS) and Bos taurus alpha satellite I (BTαS) DNA sequences, and concomitantly the relative abundance of transcripts, critically involved in DNA methylation (DNMT1 and DNMT3A), growth and development (IGF2R) and pluripotency (POU5F1) in Bos indicus embryos produced in vitro or in vivo. Results revealed that methylation of BTS were higher (P < 0.05) in embryos produced in vitro compared with their in vivo produced counterparts, while the methylation status of BTαS was similar in both groups. There were no significant differences in transcript abundance for DNMT3A, IGF2R and POU5F1 between blastocysts produced in vivo and in vitro. However, a significantly lower amount of DNMT1 transcripts was found in the in vitro cultured embryos (P < 0.05) compared with their in vivo derived counterparts. In conclusion, this study reported only minor changes in the expression of developmentally important genes and satellite DNA methylation related to the in vitro embryo production system.

The main objective of this research was to improve profits in an interprovincial passenger transport company, having designed a mathematical programming model and a genetic algorithm model with the purpose of reaching solutions for a future optimization of the company's profits. The type of research was applied, the technique that was applied was the survey and the sample was made up of all the variables of income, costs and profits of an interprovincial passenger transport company in the Peruvian territory. The results confirmed that the implementation of a mathematical model based on genetic algorithms contributes significantly to the optimization of profits, since the profit associated with the economic bus was improved, to the sleeper bus, to the mixed bus and to the super sleeper bus, achieving an optimal occupancy rate of 58.33%, 85.00%, 58.33% and 95.00%, respectively. The implemented model was based on a chromosome size of 19 bits, the population size was 10 chromosomes, the selection method is probabilistic with 4 chromosomes, crossing with four chromosomes, type of multipoint crossing and mutation process a from the second iteration of probabilistic type.

This article addresses the problem of the optimal selection of conductors in asymmetric three-phase distribution networks from a combinatorial optimization perspective, where the problem is represented by a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model that is solved using a master-slave (MS) optimization strategy. In the master stage, an optimization model known as the generalized normal distribution optimization (GNDO) algorithm is proposed with an improvement stage based on the vortex search algorithm (VSA). Both algorithms work with discrete-continuous coding that allows us to represent the locations and gauges of the different conductors in the electrical distribution system. For the slave stage, the backward/forward sweep (BFS) algorithm is adopted. The numerical results obtained in the IEEE 8- and 27-bus systems demonstrate the applicability, efficiency, and robustness of this optimization methodology, which, in comparison with current methodologies such as the Newton metaheuristic algorithm, shows significant improvements in the values of the objective function regarding the balanced demand scenario for the 8- and 27-bus test systems (i.e., 10.30% and 1.40% respectively). On the other hand, for the unbalanced demand scenario, a reduction of 1.43% was obtained in the 27-bus system, whereas no improvement was obtained in the 8-bus grid. An additional simulation scenario associated with the three-phase version of the IEEE33-bus grid under unbalanced operating conditions is analyzed considering three possible load profiles. The first load profile corresponds to the yearly operation under the peak load conduction, the second case is associated with a daily demand profile, and the third operation case discretizes the demand profile in three periods with lengths of 1000 h, 6760 h, and 1000 h with demands of 100%, 60% and 30% of the peak load case. Numerical results show the strong influence of the expected demand behavior on the plan’s total costs, with variations upper than USD/year 260,000.00 between different cases of analysis. All implementations were developed in the MATLAB® programming environment.

Bus bunching can deteriorate bus service quality and jeopardise the effectiveness of public transit in promoting sustainable urban transport. This study applies artificial intelligence (AI) techniques in visual analytics to examine the spatiotemporal characteristics of bus bunching from a stop-based perspective. A total of 25 405 real-time traffic images were extracted and analysed from 11 bus stops in Hong Kong in August 2019 (7am–7pm, Tuesdays–Thursdays). An image classification model was developed with an overall accuracy of 85%. Three distinct groups were identified based on the spatiotemporal characteristics of bus bunching at different bus stops. They are (a) systematic peak hour, (b) minor and intermittent and (c) random bus bunching. Specific traffic conditions in terms of traffic speed, traffic composition and bus occupancy rate are highly associated with the onset of bus bunching. Overall traditional bus management tactics, such as schedule synchronisation and headways control, need to be supplemented by stop-based strategies that consider the temporal profiles of bus bunching and associated traffic conditions on road.

A bus seat needs to be designed ergonomically for better seating comfort. The present study is intended to develop a cost-effective ergonomic bus seat design based on seat comfort and safety demands. As part of the proposed seat design procedure, seating comfort analysis, identifying preferred design features, and developing a seat design are included. An analysis of the bus seat back and seat pan profiles was conducted. Based on the results of the comfort analysis, the authors identified the preferred design features of bus seats during the design identification process. An improved bus seat prototype was developed based on selected design features in the design development stage. Seating comfort analyses were used to compare the achieved seat with the reference seat. The seat design developed in the present study may be applicable for various types of bus public transport.

The satisfaction of electricity customers and environmental constraints imposed have made the trend towards renewable energies making them more essential due to their advantages as reducing power losses and ameliorating system’s voltage profiles and reliability. This article addresses the optimal location and size of multiple distributed generations (DGs) based on solar photovoltaic panels (PV) connected to electrical distribution network (EDN) using the various proposed hybrid particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithms based on chaotic maps and adaptive acceleration coefficients. These algorithms are implemented to optimally allocate the DGs based PV (PV-DG) into EDN by minimizing the multi-objective function (MOF), which is represented as the sum of three technical parameters of the total active power loss (TAPL), total voltage deviation (TVD), and total operation time (TOT) of overcurrent relays (OCRs). The effectiveness of the proposed PSO algorithms were validated on both standards IEEE 33-bus, and 69-bus. The optimal integrating of PV-DGs into EDNs reduced the TAPL percentage by 56.94 % for the IEEE 33-bus and by 61.17 % for the IEEE 69-bus test system, enhanced the voltage profiles while minimizing the TVD by 37.35 % and by 32.27 % for two EDNs, respectively.

Islamic banking is a financial institution based on Sharia principles. Therefore, a measurement of the performance of Islamic banking needs to be distinguished from the measurement of the performance of conventional banking. This performance is not only the performance in generating profits, but rather the performance of Islamic banks in meeting social benefits. This performance can be measured by the maqashid sharia index. The policies of each bank are different because the internal conditions of a bank are not the same and each bank also faces different macroeconomic conditions every year. This study aims to determine the effect of bank-specific factors represented by bank size and CAR and macroeconomic conditions represented by GDP, inflation and exchange rates on the Islamic maqashid index. The object of this research is Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia which consistently operate as BUS during the period 2014 to 2018. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from the annual reports of each BUS, BPS statistical data and BI statistics. This research method uses descriptive quantitative with panel data regression analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that bank size, inflation and exchange rates, do not have a significant effect on the performance of Islamic Maqashid. Meanwhile, the CAR and GDP have a significant negative and positive effect on the performance of Maqashid Syariah.

This project looks at the best locations for Distributed Generation (DG) units in power distribution networks to reduce system losses and simultaneously enhance voltage profiles. The suggested methodology makes use of a hybrid optimization approach that blends fuzzy logic with the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Golden Section Search Algorithm (GSS). To evaluate the effectiveness and robustness of the suggested method, the study focuses on the IEEE-15 bus and IEEE-69 bus systems as test cases. This project thoroughly evaluates the suggested methodology on the IEEE-15 bus and IEEE-69 bus systems in order to validate and assess it. Comparative research indicates that fuzzy logic hybrid PSO and GSS are better than classical optimization techniques. The results demonstrate a noticeable improvement in loss reduction and voltage profile improvement

As the two most important modes in public transportation, the coordinated development of bus and metro networks significantly influences the efficiency of public transportation. However, two parallel bus and metro lines belonging to different operators may lead to supply competition and consequently yield over-supply. Taking two parallel bus and metro lines in Harbin city, China as a case study, this paper, drawing on game theory, establishes a utility model based on the two lines’ frequencies, and reveals and explains the fundamental reason for the over-supply problem using a Nash equilibrium. In an attempt to resolve this issue, the study proposes a new operation mode: integrating frequencies of the two modes to obtain larger total profits then reallocating the total profits to the two modes. The case study shows that this new operation mode can effectively solve the over-supply problem while satisfying both operators of the two modes, and hence having practical value.
